A new series of complexes of cobalt(II) fluoride, nickel(II) fluoride, copper(II) fluoride and zinc(II) fluoride with imidazole were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance, magnetic moments, IR and electronic absorption measurements. Based on elemental and spectral data, the complexes were found to be of [M(im)6]F2 · XH2O type, where M is Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) and X 4-5. The magnetic moments and spectral data suggested that all the complexes possessed an octahedral geometry. The crystal structure of the nickel complex, [Ni(im)6]F2 · 5H2O, is also reported in which nickel atom is surrounded by six nitrogen atoms of imidazole. Strong intra- and inter-molecular hydrogen bonding exists between fluoride ions (uncoordinated), nitrogen of imidazole and the -OH of water molecules.  相似文献

N-(2-Pyridyl)acetamide (aapH) complexes of palladium(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), and copper(II) have been studied by means of magnetic susceptibilities, and infrared, electronic, and PMR spectra. In the octahedral complexes M(aapH)2X2(M = Co, Ni, Cu; X = Cl, Br, NCS, NO3), bidentate aapH is chelated through the pyridine-N and amid-O atomes, whereas in the square-planar Pd(aapH)2X2 (X = Cl, Br) unidentate aapH is coordinated through the pyridine-N atom alone. Under alkaline conditions aapH is deprotonated in the presence of palladium(II) to form Pd(aap)2·4H2O, aap being an anionic bidentate ligand and chelating through the pyridine-N and amide-O atoms.  相似文献

Cobalt(II), cobalt(III), nickel(II), copper(II) and palladium(II) complexes with N-2-(2-pyridyl)ethylring-substituted salicylideneiminates (abbreviated as X-Sal-2-Epy) were synthesized. In addition to CoIII (H-Sal-2-Epy)3, the complexes of the formula MII(X-Sal-2-Epy)2·nH2O were obtained in crystals. The cobalt(III) complex is diamagnetic and has an electronic absorption spectrum typical of the six-coordinate, octahedral cobalt(III) complex. The cobalt(II) complexes in the solid state show electronic spectra typical of the six-coordinate cobalt(II) complexes. Electronic spectra also indicate that the nickel(II) complexes in the solid state and in non-donor solvents are six-coordinate, octahedral. In the cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes, the ligand X-Sal-2-Epy functions as terdentates, while in the cobalt(III) complex it acts as a bidentate ligand. The results are compared with those reported previously for related ligands.  相似文献

1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15,16,17,18,19, 20,21,22-Docosahydrodibenzo[b,i] [1,4,8,11] tetraazacyclotetradecine was prepared by hydrogenation of the benzo-analogue. Five isomers are feasible as a result of this hydrogenation but only two have been isolated: isomer A (melting point 158.5– 161.0 °C) and isomer B (melting point 194.5– 196.0 °C). The 13C NMR study was initiated to clear up the conformational differences between isomers. The cobalt(III), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) complexes of isomers A and B were prepared and investigated by near-ultraviolet, visible, infrared, NMR and ESR measurements. The ligand-field band in the 15 000-30 000 cm−1 region for the cobalt(III), nickel(II) and copper(II) complexes provided information on their geometry around the central metal atom. That is to say, the cobalt(III) complexes are subjected to the octahedral ligand-field with axial elongation. The copper(II) complexes and the nickel- (II) complex of isomer A are subjected to the square- planar ligand-field in these complexes. The ligand- field bands for the nickel(II)complex of isomer B display the square-planar-distorted octahedral equilibrium in the coordinating solvent. ESR measurements for the copper(II) complexes also presented the spin Hamiltonian parameters in accord with the square- planar coordination. A strong band appearing at ca. 3200 cm−1 was assigned to the N-H stretching mode and this band was slightly shifted to lower frequency upon metal coordination. The vibrational spectra and the conductance data provided evidences for the formation of the complexes with perchlorate ion as the counter ion. 13C NMR suggest that the complexes of isomer A are the cis-syn-cis form and the complexes of isomer B are the cis-anti-cis form.  相似文献

Cupric sulfate is reduced by ascorbate to the cuprous ion. The cuprous ion is then oxidized back to the cupric form by oxygen. A steady state concentration of the cupric ion is thus established to maintain a continuous oxidation of ascorbate in the presence of a trace amount of copper. In the presence of urate there is an instantaneous oxidation of ascorbate by the cupric ion. However, urate complexes with the cuprous ion and thus reduces the steady state concentration of the cupric ion. This decrease in cupric ion concentration interrupts ascorbate oxidation. The interaction of urate and cuprous ion was documented by analysis of uv absorption spectrum and the isolation of urate-Cu+ by high-pressure liquid chromatography.  相似文献

Antibacterial Schiff bases derived from 1,2,4-triazoles as well as their metal complexes incorporating cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and zinc(II) have been synthesized and characterized. Physico-chemical studies suggest that an octahedral geometry for the cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II)and square-planer geometry for the copper(II) complexes. These complexes have been screened for antibacterial activity against three Gram-positive (Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis and Bacillus subtilis) and two Gram-negative (Salmonella typhi and Pseudomonas aeruginosa) bacterial strains, and results compared with the activity of the free ligands. The metal complexes were found to be more potent against one or more bacterial strains than the free ligands.  相似文献

Complexes of cobalt(II) and zinc(II) which involve monodentate coordination of two alkyl carboxylate and two imidazole ligands in a slightly distorted tetrahedral fashion have visible and magnetic circular dichroism spectra remarkably similar to the cobalt(II)-substituted proteolytic enzymes thermolysin and carboxypeptidase A. Single crystal x-ray structure determinations on [Co(C2H5COO)2Im2], Im = imidazole, and its zinc counterpart reveal only minor structural differences between the cobalt and zinc species. Electron paramagnetic resonance spectra of cobalt(II) doped into zinc(II) complexes with known structures demonstrate the extreme sensitivity of the g-values to minor structural differences.  相似文献

A number of new complexes of iron(II), cobakt(II), nickel(II), copper(II) and palladium(II) containing 2-picolyl-p-nitrophenyl- or 2-picolyl-p-tolyl ketone, L and L′, respectively, and various anions (Cl?, Br?, NSC?, BF4? or ClO4?) have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, magnetic susceptibility, ESR, IR and reflectance spectral measurements. The stereochemistry and the nature of the complexes are markedly dependent upon the molar of the reactants, the anions and the ligand substituents. In all complexes the ligands are cheated to the metal ion via the pryridine nitrogen and the carbonyl oxygen atoms, whereby in the case of [ML2]X2, M = iron(II) and [ML3]X2, M = cobalt(II) or nickel(II) and X = ClO4? or BF4?, the 2-picolyl-p-nitrophenyl ketone exists in its enol form which is only deprotonated in the presence of palladium(II). The ligand field parameters (Dq, B′, λ and β) are calculated and related to the electronic environment and the basicity of the ligands.  相似文献

Copper(II), cobalt and nickel(II) complexes of tris(benzimidazolylmethyl)amine(1) and of its methyl(2), isobutyl(3) or isopropyl(4)-substituted derivatives of one of the backbone methylene groups were prepared and characterized. The ligands (1)–(3) afforded trigonal bipyramidal copper(II) complexes, whereas ligand (4) gave a tetrahedrally distorted tetragonal one because of the steric hindrance arising from the isopropyl group. All the cobalt(II) complexes prepared were supposed to be tetrahedral or pseudotrigonal bipyramidal, and all the nickel(II) complexes to be slightly tetrahedrally distorted octahedral. Ternary copper(II) systems containing several thiolates as the third component exhibited intense blue, brown or green color under a reduced temperature by virtue of the charge transfer bands, S? → Cu.  相似文献

Cobalt(II), copper(II) and nickel(II) complexes of the ligands 1,5,9-triazacyclotetradecane (tatd) and 1,5,9-triazacyclopentadecane (tapd), which have 8- and 9-membered chelate rings, respectively, have been prepared and characterised. Crystal structures of [Ni(tatd)(NCS)2]·H2O and [Co(tatd)(NCS)2] have been determined. The nickel(II) complex has a distorted square pyramidal geometry and the cobalt(II) complex has a distorted trigonal bipyramidal geometry. Agostic interactions between a hydrogen on the central carbon of the 8-membered chelate ring and the metal ion are observed in both complexes.  相似文献

Metal complexes of 2-pyridine carboxaldehyde 2′-pyridinylhydrazone 1-oxide (poph) and 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde 2′-quinolinylhydrazone 1-oxide (poqh) are reported with copper(II), nickel(II), cobalt(II), iron(II) and manganese(II). Each ligand appears to function as an ONN donor, via the pyridine N-oxide oxygen, the imine nitrogen, and a pyridine or quinoline nitrogen. The complexes have been characterised by magnetic susceptibility measurements to liquid nitrogen temperature, and also by electronic, infrared, X-ray powder diffraction, and Mössbauer spectra. No magnetic interaction was detected with the copper(II) complexes. All the complexes of metal nitrates appear to be monomers.The complexes of poph with the halides and thiocyanates of nickel(II) and cobalt(II) appear to be six-coordinate and N-oxide-bridged; they exhibit varying degress of antiferromagnetic interaction and the magnetic data for the nickel(II) complexes have been fitted to various models. In contrast, the bulky ligand poqh produces halide-bridged six-coordinate nickel(II) complexes and monomeric five-coordinate cobalt(II) complexes.This behaviour by poqh resembles that of the related NNN ligands paphy and paqhy, which are the Schiff bases of 2-pyridinecarboxaldehyde with 2-pyridinylhydrazine and 2-quinolinylhydrazine, respectively.  相似文献

The copper(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) binding ability of the multi-histidine peptide N-acetyl-His-Pro-His-His-NH2 has been studied by combined pH-potentiometry and visible, CD and EPR spectroscopies. The internal proline residue, preventing the metal ion induced successive amide deprotonations, resulted in the shift of this process toward higher pH values as compared to other peptides. The metal ions in the parent [ML]2+ complexes are exclusively bound by the three imidazole side chains. In [CuH−1L]+, formed between pH 6-8, the side chains of the two adjacent histidines and the peptide nitrogen between them are involved in metal ion binding. The next deprotonation results in the proton loss of the coordinated water molecule (CuH−1L(OH)). The latter two species exert polyfunctional catalytic activity, since they possess superoxide dismutase-, catecholase- (the oxidation of 3,5-di-tert-butylcatechol) and phosphatase-like (transesterification of the activated phosphoester 2-hydroxypropyl-4-nitrophenyl phosphate) properties. On further increase of the pH rearrangement of the coordination sphere takes place leading to the [CuH−3L] species, the deprotonated amide nitrogen displaces a coordinated imidazole nitrogen from the equatorial position of the metal ion. The shapes of the visible and CD spectra reflect a distorted arrangement of the donor atoms around the metal ion. In presence of zinc(II) the species [ZnL]2+ forms only above pH 6, which is shortly followed by precipitation. On the other hand, the [NiL]2+ complex is stable over a wide pH range, its deprotonation takes place only above pH 8. At pH 10 an octahedral NiH−2L species is present at first, which transforms slowly to a yellow square planar complex.  相似文献

The tripod ligands tris(2-alkylthioethyl)amine, with alkyl = ethyl, iso-propyl, and tert-butyl, give with cobalt(II) and nickel(II) halides high-spin complexes with formulae [MLX2], [MLX]Y, and [MLX]2[MX4] (where X = Cl, Br, I; Y = BPh4, PF6). The nickel complexes are either six- or five-coordinate: the coordination number decreases as the bulkiness of the alkyl group bound to the sulfur is increased. All the cobalt complexes contain the five-coordinate cation [CoLX]+. The crystal and molecular structure of the [Co(NS3-t-Bu)Br]PF6 complex has been determined by standard X-ray methods, and refined to R = 0.061. The crystals are monoclinic, space group P21/n. The unit cell dimensions are: a = 27.420 (2), b = 11.923 (4), c = 17.082 (1) Å, β = 102.40 (1)°, Z = 8. The complex cation has a trigonal bipyramidal geometry with the nitrogen and bromine atoms at the apexes, and the three sulfur atoms in the equatorial plane. The tetrahedral distortion is relatively small (mean BrCoS angle = 98.5°), and similar to that found for the [Co (Me6tren)Br]Br complex [Me6tren = tris(2-dimethylaminoethyl)amine).  相似文献

Using new nitronyl nitroxide radical ligand 2-[4-(1-imidazole)phenyl]-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide (NITPhIm), three new complexes [M(hfac)2(NITPhIm)]2 (M = Cu(II) 1, Mn(II) 2, Co(II) 3; hfac = hexafluoroacetylacetonate) have been prepared. Three complexes possess cyclic dimer structure in which each NITPhIm radical links two different metal ions through the oxygen of nitroxide group and the nitrogen of imidazole. The magnetic studies show the copper(II) ion interacts ferromagnetically with the directly bonding nitronyl nitroxide while manganese(II) and cobalt(II) ions strong antiferromagnetically interact with the directly coordinated nitroxide groups. There is a weak antiferromagnetic coupling between the metal ion and the nitroxide through phenyl and imidazole rings of the radical ligand, which is agreement with spin polarization mechanism. The results show that the minor changes in the structure of radical ligand can change the magnetic behavior of radical-metal complex.  相似文献

Three new complexes of transition metals as copper, nickel and cobalt with 5-formyluracil thiosemicarbazone (H3ut) have been synthesised and characterised by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. In all compounds the ligand behaves as SNO terdentate. In the copper complex the coordination geometry is square pyramidal with the ligand lying on the basal plane and two water molecules that complete the metal environment, the nickel compound is surrounded by six donor atoms (three of the ligand, two water oxygen atoms and a chlorine atom) in an octahedral fashion, and cobalt also shows an octahedral geometry but determined only by two terdentate ligand molecules. These three compounds have been tested on human leukemic cell lines K562 and CEM. The nickel and cobalt complexes have demonstrated low activity in cell growth, while the copper complex that is more active has been tested also on a third leukemic human cell line (U937), but it was not able to induce apoptosis on all cell lines.  相似文献

A new heptadentate compartmental ligand has been synthesized by condensation of 3-formylsalicylic acid and 1,5-diamino-3-thiapentane in methanol (H4La). This Schiff base contains an inner N2SO2 and an outer O2O2 site and gives, by reaction with copper(II), nickel(II) and uranyl(VI) diacetate, mononuclear, homo- and heterobinuclear complexes. In the mononuclear copper and nickel complexes, the metal ion is in the inner N2SO2 site, while it is in the outer O2O2 for uranyl; a solvent molecule fills the fifth equatorial coordination position in this last complex. The physico-chemical properties of the compounds are discusscd on the basis of infrared, electronic and magnetic data and by comparison with the analogous complexes with the ligand obtained by reaction of 3- formylsalicylic acid and diethylenetriamine (H4Lb). The mononuclear copper and the heterodinuclear copper-uranyl complexes show anomalously low magnetic moments.  相似文献

The open-chain, potentially, pentadentate, ligan 1,11-bis(dimethylamino)-3,6,9-trimethyl-3,6,9,-triazaundecane (Me7tetren) forms a series of metal complexes having the general formula [M(Me7tetren)]Y2 (Y = 1, M = Co, Ni; Y = ClO4, M = Co, Ni, Cu, Zn). On the basis of their physical properties, it is suggested that all these compounds contains isostructural five-coordinate [M(Me7tetren)]2+ cations, the ligand acting as pentadentate. These complexes react in solution with thiocyanate ion to give mono- and, with exception of copper(II), di-thiocyanato five- and six-co-ordinate derivatives. Mono-thiocyanato derivatives of cobalt(II), nickel(II) and zinc(II) have been isolated as tetraphenylborate salts. Cobalt(II) and nickel (II) di-thiocyanato derivatives have been also isolated. Results are discussed in terms of the steric requirements of the ligand and electronic properties of the metal ions.  相似文献

Metal complexes of divalent cobalt, nickel and copper and trivalent iron were synthesized usingN-salicylidene-3-aminocoumarin as chelating agent. The ligand behaves as a monobasic ONO donor towards Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II) and as an ON as well as an ONO donor towards Fe(III). All the complexes haven been proposed to have octahedral geometry on the basis of analytical, thermal conductivity, spectral and magnetic data. The complexes have been screened againstSpodoptera litura;F (Lepidoptera: noctuiidae) for antifeeding and insect-growth-regulating activity. The results show appreciable insect-growth-regulating activity associated with metal complexation.  相似文献
