The present study investigated whether the increase of apoptosis in the placenta is associated with intrauterine fetal death in prostaglandin F receptor-deficient mice. Apoptosis was demonstrated within placental and decidual tissue by the TUNEL method. The majority of apoptosis was found in syncytiotrophoblast tissues. Enhanced TUNEL-positive staining in the syncytiotrophoblast layer was scattered in the placental tissues in clusters of apoptotic cells in the death group. Marked TUNEL-positive cells were identified in decidua of both groups. The rate of apoptosis in the placenta and decidua in the death group was higher than that in the survival group (P < 0.05). Immunohistochemical analysis showed that the level of active caspase-3 protein expression in the placenta in the death group was much higher than that in the survival group. The level of Bcl-2 protein expression in the placenta in the death group was much lower than that in the survival group. Western blot analysis demonstrated that increased expression of the active form of caspase-3 was detected in the placenta and decidua in the death group compared with that in the survival group. In contrast, a decrease in the expression of Bcl-2 was detected in the placenta and decidua in the death group compared with that in the survival group. Enhanced expression of Bax:Bcl-2 ratio was detected in placenta and decidua in the death group compared with that in the survival group. Thus, significantly increased apoptosis in the mouse placenta and decidua might be involved in the pathophysiologic mechanism of intrauterine fetal death.  相似文献

The rate of protein synthesis was measured in muscles of the perfused rat hemicorpus, and values were compared with rates obtained in whole animals. In gastrocnemius muscle of fed rats the rate of synthesis measured in the hemicorpus was the same as that in the whole animal. However, in plantaris, quadriceps and soleus muscles rates were higher in the hemicorpus than those in vivo. In the hemicorpus, starvation for 1 day decreased the rate of protein synthesis in gastrocnemius and plantaris muscles, in parallel with decreases in the RNA content, but the soleus remained unaffected. Similar effects of starvation were observed in vivo, so that the relationships between rates in vivo and in the hemicorpus were the same as those in fed rats. Proteins of quadriceps and plantaris muscles were separated into sarcoplasmic and myofibrillar fractions. The rate of synthesis in the sarcoplasmic fraction of the hemicorpus from fed rats was similar to that in vivo, but synthesis in the myofibrillar fraction was greater. In the plantaris of starved rats the rates of synthesis in both fractions were lower, but the relationships between rates measured in vivo and in the perfused hemicorpus were similar to those seen in fed rats. The addition of insulin to the perfusate of the hemicorpus prepared from 1-day-starved animals increased the rates of protein synthesis per unit of RNA in gastrocnemius and plantaris muscles to values above those seen in fed animals when measured in vivo or in the hemicorpus. Insulin had no effect on the soleus. Overall, the rates of protein synthesis in the hemicorpus differed from those in vivo. However, the effect of starvation when measured in the whole animal was very similar to that measured in the isolated rat hemicorpus when insulin was omitted from the perfusate.  相似文献

在三月红荔枝(Litchi chinensis cv.Sanyuehong)果实膨大期对树冠喷施0.2%磷酸二氢钾(KP)水溶液,以探讨磷酸二氢钾对荔枝果实贮藏性的影响。结果表明:(1) KP处理的果实在贮藏期前17d,失重率及果肉可溶性固形物、酸、VitC、花色素苷等指标的变化趋势与对照基本相似;(2) KP处理的果肉可溶性蛋白质含量变化与对照有明显差异,而果皮的可溶性蛋白质含量在贮藏期前10d变化动态与对照一致,此后呈相反的变化趋势;(3)果皮POD活性显著高于果肉,KP处理和对照的果肉POD活性在贮藏第3d后、果皮POD活性在第17d前分别具有相似变化趋势;(4)果肉中CAT活性在贮藏第3~17d期间都显著或极显著高于果皮,KP处理和对照果肉、果皮CAT活性动态变化均为单峰曲线。  相似文献

Thioltransferase (TTase) is a member of the family of thiol-disulfide oxidoreductases that are involved in the maintenance of sulfhydryl homeostasis in cells by catalyzing thiol-disulfide interchange reactions. One of the major consequences of oxidative stress in brain is the formation of protein-glutathione mixed disulfides (through oxidation of protein thiols), which can be reversed by TTase during the recovery of brain from oxidative stress. We therefore examined the presence of TTase in brain regions from rat. In the rat, TTase activity in the whole brain was comparable with the corresponding activity in liver, but significantly higher in hippocampus. The enzyme activity was significantly lower in striatum and cerebellum compared with activity in whole brain. Rat brain TTase shared immunological similarity with the human red blood cell enzyme, but not with the pig liver enzyme. The constitutive expression of the mRNA to TTase was demonstrable by northern blotting. Localization of the TTase mRNA in rat brain by fluorescent in situ hybridization showed the presence of high amounts of mRNA in the olfactory bulb, cortex, and hippocampus and its predominant localization in the neurons. TTase mRNA was also present in Purkinje cells in the cerebellum, in giant reticular neurons in the midbrain, and in the striatal and thalamic neurons. This study demonstrates the constitutive presence of a functional TTase system in brain and delineates the regional and cellular localization of the enzyme in rat brain.  相似文献

In cotyledons ofChenopodium rubrum L. polydisperse RNA is synthesized in the region of the low molecular weight RNAs during photoperiodic induction. After short-time labelling the rate of 4s RNA synthesis was always higher in induced plants than in plants having obtained a light-break in the middle of the dark period. When glucose was added to the nutrient medium during the dark period of a single photoperiodic cycle the rate of nucleic acid (NA) synthesis was higher in non-induced plants than in induced ones at the termination of the dark period. In plants induced by two cycles in the absence of glucose the rate of NA synthesis at the termination of the second dark period was higher in induced than in non-induced plants. This difference is due to the differential kinetics of NA synthesis during darkness. In plants induced in the presence of glucose the peak of the rhythm in NA synthesis was advanced by 4 h relative to that found in plants induced in the absence of sugar. Thus, the termination of the dark period coincided with the negative slope of the oscillation in plants induced in the presence of glucose, while in plants having obtained a light-break NA synthesis decreased only slightly after having attained its peak. In plants induced in the absence of glucose the termination of the dark period coincided with the peak in the rhythm in NA synthesis. The rhythm in NA synthesis of the cotyledons during the dark period of an inductive cycle is out of phase with the rhythm in flower initiation.  相似文献

Malignant neoplasms (MN) have been found to develop most frequently in the liquidators of entry into the ChNPP zones in 1986 (43.75%), as well as among the liquidators who worked for long, one quarter of whom participated in liquidation of the consequences of failure (LCF) in 1986. Specific features of the immune status depending on the timing of participation in LCF and the year of entry into the ChN PP zone have been established. Changes in the immune system in the persons with a confirmed diagnosis of MN who took both a non-permanent and permanent part in liquidating the consequences of the ChNPP failure in 1986 had the same character of deviations and differed in the magnitudes of deviations of immunological parameters. Continuous participation in the period of extreme conditions and a greater exposure to the radiation factor led to the increased content of CD8(+)-T-cells, CD16(+)-lymphocytes and activated T-lymphocytes, as well as to the reduced index of immune regulation, decreased content ofCD3-16/56+(NK)-cells (%) and the total IgE and to a greater deficiency of B-lymphocytes. Distinctions in the groups of liquidators who participated in LCF in 1986 and 1987 have been revealed. The greatest deviations in the IS indicators were found in liquidators-87. A similar effect came to light in case of a continuance in the ChNPP zones in 1986 and 1987; however, the degree of deviation of the content of CD4(+)-T-lymphocytes (41), CD8(+)-T-lymphocytes (1) and the immune regulation index (41) were remarkably higher in liquidators-87. A continuous stay in the ChNPP zones in 1987 led to the deficiency of CD4(+)-T-lymphocytes, increased values of CD8(+)-T-lymphocytes, a decreased index of CD4+/CD8+, as well as to the change in the ratio between NK-T and NK cells, increased numbers of CD95+, HLA-DR+ and activated T-lymphocytes, and a lower level of the total IgE. Long-term participation in LCF didn't cause any enhanced expression of cellular activation markers in liquidators-86. Specific features of changes in IS depending on a dose of external gamma-irradiation have been established. Increase in the frequency of MN among liquidators, in relation to the number of examinees in each age group, with age has been revealed. Distinctions in the age dynamics of IS in liquidators in the presence and in the absence of MN manifested themselves in a stable level of values of CD3+, CD4+, CD8(+)-T-lymphocytes, immune regulation index, CD95+, serum IgA at the age between 40 and 70 years old with a subsequent reduction in indicators and increase in the content of CD8(+)-T-lymphocytes with age in the absence of MN; continuous increase of CD3-16/56(+)-NK-cells in the presence of MN and decrease in the values after 70 in the absence of MN. Also revealed in IS of the both age groups of liquidators over 70 with and without MN was the deficiency of the T-cell component (CD3+, CD4(+)-T-lymphocytes, CD4+/CD8+ index) and the increase in absolute values of CD8(+)-T-lymphocytes. The growing deficiency of CD4(+)-T-lymphocytes during monitoring against the background of ever rising values of CD8(+)-T-lymphocytes leading to the weakening of the immune regulation due to progressing disorders of the T-lymphocyte regulatory subpopulation distribution can serve an indicator for the adverse prognosis of the life expectancy in the presence of MN.  相似文献

Variation in male lifetime breeding success (LBS) is central to understanding selection, yet it has rarely been measured in natural populations of large mammals. Here, we first describe variation in the opportunity for selection in cohorts of Soay rams (Ovis aries) on the archipelago of St. Kilda, Scotland, that were born during years of varying population density. Variation in LBS is closely coupled with demography, as rams born in years of low density following population crashes enjoy greater LBS than do those born in high-density years. Paradoxically, the opportunity for selection was greatest in the largest cohorts, those born in years of high population density, owing to low juvenile breeding success and overwinter survival. Variation in longevity and the contribution of nonbreeders were the most important components of the total variance in LBS in cohorts born in years of high density, while variation in fecundity was more important in cohorts born in low-density years. The opportunity for sexual selection is thus stronger in cohorts born in low-density years, as many rams in these cohorts survive to compete for mates as adults in subsequent ruts. Variation in population density in the year of birth also influenced the intensity of selection. Individuals born in years of high population density underwent strong natural selection in favor of longer hindlimbs over their first winter. In contrast, in cohorts born in low-density years, there was no natural selection on hindlimb in the first year of life. Longer hindlimbs were associated with increased fecundity over the entire lifetime of individuals born in low-density years. Natural and sexual selection thus act on the same trait in the same direction at different life-history stages in Soay rams, depending on the population density experienced in the year of birth.  相似文献

The role of calcium in regulation of secretion of human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) by first trimester human placental minces in vitro has been investigated. Depletion of calcium in the medium by addition of EGTA resulted in a drastic decrease in the levels of immunoreactive hCG in the medium with consequent of accumulation of hCG in the tissue. Addition of A 23187 which is a calcium ionophore resulted in a dose dose dependent increase in the hCG in the medium and this stimulatory response could not be observed in the absence of calcium. Use of lanthanum (a calcium antagonist) in place of calcium in the medium used resulted in a significant decrease in the levels of hCG in the medium. Addition of veratridine (a sodium channel activator) stimulated hCG secretion in a dose dependent manner. These results suggest that calcium is essential for normal secretion of hCG by human placenta.  相似文献

Embryo formation from callus of Theobroma cacao L. was associated with the changes in relationship between nuclear, nucleolar and cell sizes and the content of basic proteins (FG-FCF-stained). Together with the increase in nuclear size of callus and proembryo cells the increase in the amount of nuclear basic proteins was found. In the callus cells the increase in nucleolar protein content exceeded that in nucleolus size, which led to the rise in basic protein concentration in the nucleolus. However, in the early stage of embryogenesis the increase in protein content was not so marked as that in callus, which indicated that embryogenesis involved a decrease in concentration of nucleolar basic proteins. Differences between callus and proembryo cells were also observed in the concentration of cytoplasmic proteins. The increase in size of callus cells was the same as the increasing amount of cytoplasmic proteins. In proembryos a significant increase in cell size was accompanied by only slight changes in cytoplasmic proteins. The stimulation of embryogenesis by 2,4-D resulted in an increase of nuclear concentration of basic proteins in proembryos. The intensification of embryogenesis involved the decrease of the concentration of nucleolar proteins together with the increase in concentration of basic cytoplasmic proteins.  相似文献

The present paper describes the effect of exogenous oestradiol and progesterone on the AChE activity in nerves of the ovary, oviduct, uterus, and vagina, and on morphological features of the AChE-positive nerves of these organs in sexually immature pigs. Studies were carried out on 30 sexually immature pigs, 37 to 43 kg in weight, at the age of 115 to 125 d, of the BWP (Big White Polish) race. The animals were divided into 4 groups. Group I (n = 6) constituted the control. Animals in group II (n = 8) received oestradiolum benzoicum. Those in group III (n = 8) were given progesterone, and in group IV (n = 8) oestradiol and progesterone. Oestradiol injections resulted in a 1.2-fold increase of AChE activity in the ovary, 1.3-fold in the oviduct, 1.7-fold in the uterine horn, and a 1.2-fold decrease of this activity in the cervix, while no differences were noted in the vagina. Progesterone injections did not affect AChE activity in the ovary, while a 1.1-fold increase was observed in the oviduct, 1.2-fold in the uterine horn and 1.1-fold in the cervix compared to the control. A 1.1-fold decrease of this activity was observed in the vagina. Joint injections of oestradiol and progesterone resulted in about a 1.4-fold increase of AChE activity in the ovary, 1.3-fold in the oviduct, 1.4-fold in the uterine horn, 1.6-fold in the vagina, while no changes were observed in the cervix. The results suggest the effect of the administered hormones upon AChE activity in the organs under study, mainly in the oviduct, uterine horn, and vagina. They also point to the possibility of a synergic effect of oestradiol and progesterone as regards to an increase of the activity.  相似文献

Serial transversal sections on the nerve-vascular complexes of four thyroid arteries in newborns, in persons of the 1st and 2d periods of mature age, in elderly and old persons (40 complexes in each age group) are stained after Weigert--Pahl. Amount of myelin fibers (MF) of three dimensional classes are defined micromorphometrically. Total amount of the MF in the nerves of all thyroid plexuses is the greatest in the persons belonging to the second mature period of age: it is 2.7 times as great as in the newborns. In the elderly persons it is 1.5 times, and in the old persons--1.8 times as little as in the persons of the second period of maturity. Thin MF make the absolute majority. The amount of the MF with middle caliber in the thyroid nerves of the mature persons is 6.6 times as great as in the newborns. Their amount in the old persons is 1.7 times as little as in the mature persons. Thick MF are absent in the newborns; in the mature and elderly persons they are observed now and then. The thick MF are characterized by a high variation coefficient (up to 84%). According to the criteria of absolute and relative contents of both total and group composition of the MF in postnatal period, three stages in development of the thyroid innervational connections performed by the MF are revealed: productive, stabilization and involution. The correlative analysis reveales a direct dependence in the system diameter of each thyroid artery--number of the MF in nerves of its plexus in the newborns and mature persons. Cells expressing mRNA for hippocampus-derived neurotrophic factor (HDNF/NT-3) or brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) were identified by in situ hybridization. In the rat brain, HDNF mRNA was predominantly found in pyramidal neurons in CA1 and CA2 of the hippocampus. Lower levels of HDNF mRNA were found in granular neurons of the dentate gyrus and in neurons of the taenia tecta and induseum griseum. BDNF mRNA-expressing cells were more widely distributed in the rat brain, with high levels in neurons of CA2, CA3, and the hilar region of the dentate gyrus, in the external and internal pyramidal layers of the cerebral cortex, in the claustrum, and in one brainstem structure. Lower levels were seen in CA1 and in the granular layer of the hippocampus, in the taenia tecta, and in the mammillary complex. In peripheral tissues, HDNF mRNA was found in glomerular cells in the kidney, secretory cells in the male rat submandibular gland, and epithelial cells in secondary and tertiary follicles in the ovary. Cells expressing BDNF mRNA were found in the dorsal root ganglia, where neurons of various sizes were labeled.  相似文献

The paper presents the results on hereditary and environmental dental findings in identification of human remains exhumed from mass graves in the Republic of Croatia. The total of 17,880 teeth from all the categories (incisors, canines, premolars and molars) was examined. Hereditary findings of the teeth such as shape, size, position, as well as age were used in all of the cases confirming and completing the identification. In only 15% of the cases they were the starting points for the identification that would be later confirmed with another 3-5 traditional identification procedures. Disturbances in tooth eruption were recorded in 22% of the cases, impaction of teeth in 10%, and retarded eruption of teeth in 12%. Disturbances of tooth position were recorded in 65% of the cases. Tooth rotation in 26% and diastema mediana in maxilla or mandible in 39%. Disorders of tooth number in the form of unilateral and bilateral missing of lateral maxillary incisors were recorded only in 2% of the monitored cases. Abnormalities of the tooth shape were found in 11% of the cases. The majority of them were found on the tooth crowns 6%, and less on the tooth roots 5%. Environmental dental findings that were the most significant for the identifications were prosthetic appliances in 30% of cases. Prostheses were helpful in the identification of 3% of the cases, while crowns and bridges were helpful in 27% of the cases. Ante mortem teeth extractions were helpful in 25% of the cases. Teeth restorations were recorded in 20% of the identified cases, amalgams in 19% and aesthetic filings in 1%. Dental caries was helpful in only 10% of the cases, superficial caries in 3% and caries of dentin in 7% of cases.  相似文献

We previously reported (Berlot, C. H., Spudich, J. A., and Devreotes, P. N. (1985) Cell 43, 307-314) that cAMP stimulation of chemotactically competent Dictyostelium amoebae causes transient increases in phosphorylation of the myosin heavy chain and 18,000-dalton light chain in vivo and in vitro. In this report we investigate the mechanisms involved in these changes in phosphorylation. In the case of heavy chain phosphorylation, the amount of substrate available for phosphorylation appears to be the major factor regulating the in vitro phosphorylation rate. Almost all heavy chain kinase activity is insoluble in Triton X-100, and the increase in the heavy chain phosphorylation rate in vitro parallels an increase in Triton insolubility of myosin. Changes in heavy chain phosphatase activity are not involved in the changes in the in vitro phosphorylation rate. In the case of light chain phosphorylation, increases in the vitro phosphorylation rate occur under conditions where the amount of substrate available for phosphorylation is constant and phosphatase activity is undetectable, implicating light chain kinase activation as the means of regulation. The specificity of the myosin kinases operating in vivo and in vitro was explored using phosphoamino acid and chymotryptic phosphopeptide analysis. The light chain is phosphorylated on serine both in vivo and in vitro, and phosphopeptide maps of the light chain phosphorylated in vivo and in vitro are indistinguishable. In the case of the heavy chain, both serine and threonine are phosphorylated in vivo and in vitro, although the cAMP-stimulated increases in phosphorylation occur primarily on threonine. Phosphopeptide maps of the heavy chain show that the peptides phosphorylated in vitro represent a major subset of those phosphorylated in vivo. The kinetics of the transient increases in myosin phosphorylation rates observed in vitro can be predicted quantitatively from the in vivo myosin phosphorylation data assuming that there is a constant phosphatase activity.  相似文献

1. The locations of the high affinity uptakes of glutamate, aspartate and GABA were studied autoradiographically and microchemically in slices of hippocampus and septum in vitro. 2. In hippocampus the distributions of the uptake sites for glutamate and aspartate were very similar, with much higher uptake in zones containing pyramidal cell terminals than in other zones. A reciprocal distribution was found for GABA uptake, which was in agreement with that of GAD. 3. Cutting pyramidal cell axons to CAl reduced the uptake of aspartate and glutamate in the target area in CAl by 80%. 4. Autoradiographically the uptake of aspartate was very high in the dorsal part of the lateral septum, moderately high in nucleus accumbens septi and neostriatum, and very low in the medial septum. GABA uptake was lower in the medial than in the lateral septum, but very high in a narrow transitional zone and in the insula Cajella magna. 5. Transecting the axons from hippocampus and subiculum to septum, gave a 70% reduction in the uptakes of aspartate and glutamate in the lateral septum, but no reduction in the medial septum. 6. Literature data on uptake, content and release of glutamate and aspartate in nerve endings in brain are briefly reviewed.  相似文献

Interruptions in the internal elastic lamina (IEL) have been quantified by light microscopy in the caudal arteries of different strains of rats and in caudal and renal arteries of (i) male and female virgin rats up until 2 years of age, (ii) repeatedly bred rats and (ii) hypertensive rats. Results showed that gaps in the IEL exist in caudal arteries of adult males in all strains studied, but to a lesser extent in the hairless mutant. In the virgin Wistar rat these interruptions in the IEL form with age in both caudal and renal arteries, and are more numerous (i) in the male than in the female in both arteries, and (ii) in the caudal than in the renal artery in both sexes. Repeated breeding in the Wistar rat abolishes the sex difference in incidence of IEL gaps in both renal and caudal arteries. The Sprague-Dawley breeder rat is more susceptible than the Wistar breeder to their formation in the renal artery. Hypertension in the male consistently increases the formation of IEL gaps in the renal but not in the caudal artery. The importance of local factors, e.g. hemodynamics, in the formation of these defects in the IEL, and their possible relationship with the development of arteriosclerosis is discussed.  相似文献

A morphometric analysis of root statocytes was performed on seedlings of lentil ( Lens culinaris L., cv. Verte du Puy) in order to determine the effects of microgravity on the polarity of these cells. Seedlings were grown: (1) on the ground, (2) in microgravity, (3) on a 1 g centrifuge in space, (4) first in microgravity and then placed on a 1 g centrifuge for 3 h. Dry seeds were hydrated in space (except for the ground control) for 25 h in darkness at 22°C in the Biorack facility developed by the European Space Agency. At the end of the experiment, the seedlings were photographed and fixed in glutaraldehyde in the Biorack glove box. The average shape of the statocytes and the location of endoplasmic reticulum, amyloplasts and nucleus in the cells were analysed in the four samples. By considering the cell shape, it appears that the morphology of the statocytes on the ground was different from that observed in the space samples. Cell polarity was similar in microgravity and in the centrifuged samples except for the distribution of the amyloplasts. These organelles were not distributed at random in near zero gravity, and they were more numerous in the proximal than in the distal half. Moreover, the statoliths were more voluminous in microgravity than in the centrifuged samples. The nucleus was closer to the cell center in the statocytes of roots grown in microgravity than in statocytes of roots grown in microgravity and then placed on the 1 g centrifuge for 3 h. It is hypothesized that the nucleus is attached to the cell periphery and that its location is dependent upon gravity.  相似文献

It has been previously demonstrated by the authors that histological characteristics of colony-forming units (CFUs) in normal mice prove a certain shift in their differentiation in erythroid direction comparing to the bone marrow CFUs. Thymectomy of mature animals is accompanied with weakening growth of granular colonies at cloning of the bone marrow CFUs and with loss of stability in direction of splenic CFUs differentiation. Polypeptide preparation of the thymus--thymalin stimulates growth of the granulocytic colonies from the splenic CFUs in thymectomized mice both in in vivo and in vitro experiments. Differentiation of the bone marrow CFUs is normalized under the effect of thymalin in in vivo experiment only. The data obtained confirm the suggestion made by R. V. Petrov on existence of T-cell clone, enhancing CFUs differentiation in granulocytic direction. Activation of this clone in the spleen is revealed at thymectomy and stimulation of the cells with thymalin both in in vivo and in vitro experiments. Thus, affirmations are obtained on differences of clonic T-cell regulation of the CFUs differentiation in the bone marrow and in the spleen.  相似文献

Metallothioneins (MT) were localized by immunochemistry in different organs and cell compartments of turbot exposed to sublethal concentrations (100 ppb) of Cd for 7 days. The polyclonal rabbit anti-cod MT antibody (NIVA, Norway) applied herein exhibited positive cross-reactivity with turbot MTs. Immunoreactive MTs were localized in the branchial epithelium, in the liver and in the kidney of turbot. In Cd exposed fishes MTs were demonstrated mainly in branchial chloride cells (CC) and to a lesser extend in the area where progenitor cells are located and in the cells of the respiratory epithelium (secondary lamellae). A higher staining intensity for MTs was observed in CC of the interlamellar space of the main branchial epithelium in comparison with control CC. MT-staining was also observed in the chondroblasts of the cartilage and in the erythrocytes within blood vessels both in control and Cd-exposed specimens. MT immunoreaction was high in the liver hepatocytes and weak in the epithelium of the proximal portion of the kidney in exposed turbot. The tegument, spleen and muscle were devoid of any immunolabelling in both treatments. Ultrastructural studies at the transmission electron microscope revealed that Cd-induced MTs were mainly located in the cytoplasm of gill CC, the lysosomes and the cytoplasm of hepatocytes and in the basal labyrinth of kidney proximal nephrocytes. The differential localization/induction of MTs in different cell types described hereby suggests that the quantification of the specific expression of MT may be used in biomonitoring programs as a biomarker of Cd exposure in aquatic environments.  相似文献

A spectrofluorometric study of the changes in serotonin and noradrenalin content was carried out in the cortex of large hemispheres, the hypothalamus and the midbrain on the 5th-6th day after creation of a pathological focus in the area of the occipital portion of the cortex in 12 cats. Diffuse changes in the bioelectrical activity of the brain were revealed on the EEG at this period: there appeared peak-like variations and slow waves of increased amplitude. There was noted a marked decrease in serotonin content in the cortex of the large hemispheres with the prevalance of an effect in the area directly adhering to the focus of affection. A tendency to reduction in serotonin level was revealed in the hypothalamus and the midbrain. The content of noradrenalin in the mentioned structures of the brain showed no significant change. The significance of the serotoninergic structures of the brain in the mechanisms participating in the restoration of the functional condition of the brain after its experimental injury is discussed.  相似文献
