Wheat is the main cereal crop in Kazakhstan and fertilizers play an important role in enhancing harvest growth. In this study, the impact of new sulfur-containing fertilizers on the growth and yield of wheat was evaluated, and the resistance of varieties to Puccinia triticina Erikss was also investigated. (also known as Puccinia recondite Rob. ex Desm.) for recommendations in agriculture. The study was conducted from 2017 to 2020 in a nursery and greenhouse. The sulfur-containing fertilizer contains nutrients that allow you to extend the duration of absorption by the plant, thereby extending the period of their availability to plants, compared to conventional preparations. By encapsulating molten elemental sulfur and impregnating with a solution of calcium polysulfide, a long-acting compound based on amorphous and monocalcium phosphate was developed. The sulfur is in a water-soluble sulfate form, which, in turn, is slowly oxidized by bacteria and retained in the soil. Three different types of the developed sulfur-containing nano-particle have been used to test in greenhouses and nurseries: powdered, pasty sulfur-containing composition, and a solution of calcium polysulfide. The results showed that the use of powdered and dissolved sulfur-containing fertilizers contributed to the early ripeness and increased productivity of wheat. Wheat varieties were tested for the presence of key Lr genes that determine resistance to brown rust. The Omskaya 29 sample showed an immune response according to phytopathological assessment, and molecular screening revealed four resistance genes. The new sulfur-containing product is recommended for improving wheat productivity in agriculture, and the Omskaya 29 variety can also be used as a valuable breeding material resistant to brown rust.  相似文献

Among the large series of marine natural products (MNPs), sulfur-containing MNPs have emerged as potential therapeutic agents for the treatment of a range of diseases. Herein, we reviewed 95 new sulfur-containing MNPs isolated during the period between 2021 and March 2023. In addition, we discuss that the widely used strategies and the emerging technologies including natural product-based antibody drug conjugates (ADCs), small-molecule-based proteolysis targeting chimeras (PROTACs), nanotechnology-based drug carriers, artificial intelligence (AI)-driven drug discovery have been used for improving the efficiency and success rate of NP-based drug development. We also provide perspectives regarding the challenges and opportunities in sulfur-containing MNPs based drug discovery and development and future research directions.  相似文献

A series of trioxanes featuring sulfide, sulfone, and sulfonamide substituents in diverse positions has been prepared. Structure-activity relationship (SAR) generalizations highlight two major factors controlling the antimalarial potency of these new chemical entities: (1) the proximity of the sulfur-containing substituent to the crucial peroxide bond and (2) the oxidation state of the sulfur-containing substituent. In this study, effect of different forms of sulfur-containing agrochemicals on growth, yield, and protein content of soybean grains have been evaluated. Three forms were used, such as powdery, solute, and pasty, in which elemental sulfur is contained in a nanostructured state. Plants treated with powdered and solute sulfur-containing agrochemicals had the highest growth and grain yield values, and the effect of applying pasty sulfur-containing agrochemicals did not differ from the control, in which there was low yield on all variants. The use of powdered and solute sulfur-containing agrochemicals increased all protein fractions in soybeans. The results show that the use of powdered and solute sulfur-containing agrochemicals is necessary to boost the yield of soy and increase the supply of proteins in the grains. A key factor in the availability of sulfur for soybean plants is the conversion of sulfur to a nanodisperse state. This study provides relevant information about sulfur-containing agrochemicals, which can promote higher seed yields and increase the content of protein in soybeans.  相似文献

Detection of Cystathionine Ketimine in Bovine Cerebellum   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
A new sulfur-containing cyclic imino acid, cystathionine ketimine, has been detected in bovine cerebellum by gas chromatography, gas chromatography-mass spectrometry, and high pressure liquid chromatography procedures. Gas chromatography and gas-mass analyses are based on derivatization of endogenous cystathionine ketimine with diazomethane after a simple enrichment procedure. The high pressure liquid chromatography procedure takes advantage of the selective absorbance at 380 nm of the phenyl isothiocyanate-ketimine interaction product. The concentration of this new sulfur imino acid found in a pool of four bovine cerebella is approximately 0.5 nmol/g.  相似文献

Human immunodeficiency virus protease activity can be regulated by reversible oxidation of a sulfur-containing amino acid at the dimer interface. We show here that oxidation of this amino acid in human immunodeficiency virus type 1 protease prevents dimer formation. Moreover, we show that human T-cell leukemia virus type 1 protease can be similarly regulated through reversible glutathionylation of its two conserved cysteine residues. Based on the known three-dimensional structures and multiple sequence alignments of retroviral proteases, it is predicted that the majority of retroviral proteases have sulfur-containing amino acids at the dimer interface. The regulation of protease activity by the modification of a sulfur-containing amino acid at the dimer interface may be a conserved mechanism among the majority of retroviruses.  相似文献

A new method for the purification of seminalplasmin, an antimicrobial protein from bull semen, was developed. The last step of the procedure involved preparative high performance liquid chromatography on a reversed phase column. Highly purified seminalplasmin was characterized by CD, absorption, fluorescence spectroscopy, double immunodiffusion and biological activity. Analytical ultracentrifugation revealed a molecular mass of 6300 Da. Amino-acid analysis of the protein preparation indicated the absence of sulfur-containing amino acids cysteine and methionine.  相似文献

The concentrations of sulfur-containing amino acids, taurine, cystathionine, methionine and cystine, as well as cystathionine beta-synthase and gamma-lyase activities in various tissues of Agkistrodon blomhoffi (mamushi) were measured. The concentration of taurine in examined tissues was greater than the concentration of other sulfur-containing amino acids. The concentration of cystathionine in various tissues was also much higher than those of methionine and cystine, but the concentration of cystathionine in the brain was lower than that of methionine. In all tissues examined in this study, cystathionine beta-synthase activity was much higher than that of cystathionine gamma-lyase. The ratios of cystathionine beta-synthase to gamma-lyase activities in various tissues were 5.6 to approximately 85.6. The concentration of sulfur-containing amino acids in muscle and skin divided into eight portions of the body were also determined. The concentrations of methionine and cystine in each portion of muscle and skin were almost the same, but the concentrations of taurine and cystathionine in each portion of the body were varied.  相似文献

含硫气体信号分子硫化氢(hydrogen sulfide,H2S)和二氧化硫(sulfur dioxide,SO2)过去被认为是废气,但是研究先后发现这两种含硫气体能在哺乳动物体内通过含硫氨基酸代谢内源性生成。心血管系统存在H2S和SO2的生成体系,并且H2S和SO2具有重要的心血管生理学效应,包括舒张血管和心肌负性肌力作用。H2S和SO2的心血管病理生理学效应也逐渐被认识,如缓解高血压和肺动脉高压、抑制动脉粥样硬化进展、保护心肌缺血再灌注损伤和异丙肾诱导的心肌损伤。ATP敏感性钾通道、L型钙通道、c GMP、NF-κB信号通路及MAPK信号通路等都参与H2S和SO2的生物学效应。以上发现表明H2S和SO2是重要的心血管内源性气体信号分子,为阐明心血管疾病的发病机制和治疗靶点提供新的思路。  相似文献

Anthropogenic practices and recycling in the environment through natural processes result in release of potentially harmful levels of mercury into the biosphere. Mercury, especially organic forms, accumulates in the food chain. Mercury reacts readily with sulfur-containing compounds and often exists as a thiol S-conjugate, such as the l-cysteine (Cys)-S-conjugate of methylmercury (CH(3)Hg-S-Cys) or inorganic mercury (Cys-S-Hg-S-Cys). These S-conjugates are structurally similar to l-methionine and l-cystine/l-cystathionine, respectively. Bovine and rat glutamine transaminase K (GTK) catalyze transamination of sulfur-containing amino acids. Recombinant human GTK (rhGTK) has a relatively open catalytic active site, and we report here that this enzyme, like the rat and bovine enzymes, can also utilize sulfur-containing l-amino acids, including l-methionine, l-cystine, and l-cystathionine as substrates. The current study extends this list to include mercuric S-conjugates, and shows that CH(3)Hg-S-Cys and Cys-S-Hg-S-Cys are substrates and reversible inhibitors of rhGTK. The homocysteine S-conjugates, Hcy-S-Hg-S-Hcy and CH(3)Hg-S-Hcy, are also inhibitors. Finally, we show that HgCl(2), CH(3)Hg-S-Cys and Cys-S-Hg-S-Cys are potent irreversible inhibitors of rat cystathionine γ-lyase. The present study broadens our knowledge of the biochemistry of mercury compounds by showing that Cys S-conjugates of mercury interact with enzymes that catalyze transformations of biologically important sulfur-containing amino acids.  相似文献

Oxolinic acid was shown to produce a radioprotective effect on mice and a therapeutic radioprotective action on rats and hamsters. As to radioprotective efficiency, oxolinic acid is inferior to such known sulfur-containing agents as indolylalkylamines and alpha-adrenomimetics. But oxolinic acid has an important advantage over them, that is, the increase in radioresistance it induces persists for several hours. The radioprotective effectiveness of oxolinic acid prompts that it is expedient to search for new radioprotective preparations among specific inhibitors of DNA polymerase of replicative synthesis.  相似文献

Studies on sulfur metabolism in archaea have revealed many novel enzymes and pathways and have advanced our understanding on metabolic processes, not only of the archaea, but of biology in general. A variety of dissimilatory sulfur metabolisms, i.e. reactions used for energy conservation, are found in archaea from both the Crenarchaeota and Euryarchaeota phyla. Although not yet fully characterized, major processes include aerobic elemental sulfur (S(0) ) oxidation, anaerobic S(0) reduction, anaerobic sulfate/sulfite reduction and anaerobic respiration of organic sulfur. Assimilatory sulfur metabolism, i.e. reactions used for biosynthesis of sulfur-containing compounds, also possesses some novel features. Cysteine biosynthesis in some archaea uses a unique tRNA-dependent pathway. Fe-S cluster biogenesis in many archaea differs from that in bacteria and eukaryotes and requires unidentified components. The eukaryotic ubiquitin system is conserved in archaea and involved in both protein degradation and biosynthesis of sulfur-containing cofactors. Lastly, specific pathways are utilized for the biosynthesis of coenzyme M and coenzyme B, the sulfur-containing cofactors required for methanogenesis.  相似文献

Invertebrate hosts of chemoautotrophic symbionts face the unique challenge of supplying their symbionts with hydrogen sulfide while avoiding its toxic effects. The sulfur-containing free amino acids taurine and thiotaurine may function in sulfide detoxification by serving as sulfur storage compounds or as transport compounds between symbiont and host. After sulfide exposure, both taurine and thiotaurine levels increased in the gill tissues of the symbiotic coastal bivalve Solemya velum. Inhibition of prokaryotic metabolism with chloramphenicol, inhibition of eukaryotic metabolism with cycloheximide, and inhibition of ammonia assimilation with methionine sulfoximine reduced levels of sulfur-containing amino acids. Chloramphenicol treatment inhibited the removal of sulfide from the medium. In the absence of metabolic inhibitors, estimated rates of sulfide incorporation into taurine and thiotaurine accounted for nearly half of the sulfide removed from the medium. In contrast, amino acid levels in the nonsymbiotic, sulfide-tolerant molluscs Geukensia demissa and Yoldia limatula did not change after sulfide exposure. These findings suggest that sulfur-containing amino acids function in sulfide detoxification in symbiotic invertebrates, and that this process depends upon ammonia assimilation and symbiont metabolic capabilities.  相似文献

We studied the significance of alterations in the metabolomics of sulfur-containing substances in rapidly regenerating rat livers. Male rats were subjected to two-thirds partial hepatectomy (PHx), and the changes in hepatic levels of major sulfur-containing amino acids and related substances were monitored for 2?weeks. Liver weight began to increase from 24?h after the surgery, and appeared to recover fully in 2?weeks. Serum alanine aminotransferase and aspartate aminotransferase activities were elevated immediately after the surgery and returned slowly to normal levels in 2?weeks. Methionine, S-adenosylmethionine (SAM), cystathionine and cysteine were increased rapidly and remained elevated for longer than 1?week. Hepatic glutathione concentration was increased gradually for 24?h, and then decreased thereafter, whereas hypotaurine was elevated drastically right after the surgery. Hepatic concentrations of polyamines were altered significantly by PHx. In the hepatectomized livers putrescine concentration was elevated rapidly, reaching a level 40- to 50-fold greater than normal in 6–12?h. Ornithine, the metabolic substrate for putrescine synthesis, was also elevated markedly. Spermidine was increased significantly, whereas spermine was depressed below normal, which appeared to be due to the increased consumption of decarboxylated SAM for spermidine biosynthesis. The results show that the metabolomics of sulfur-containing amino acids and related substances is altered profoundly in regenerating rat livers until the original weight is recovered. Hepatic concentrations of polyamines after PHx are closely associated with the alteration in the metabolomics of sulfur-containing substances. The implication of these changes in the progression of liver regeneration is discussed.  相似文献

Two new sulfur-containing phenolic compounds, 7-hydroxy-5-hydroxymethyl-2H-benzo[1,4]thiazin-3-one (1) and 2,5-dihydroxy-3-methanesulfinylbenzyl alcohol (2), along with two known compounds, 3-chloro-2,5-dihydroxybenzyl alcohol (3) and 2-hydroxy-6-methylbenzoic acid (4), were isolated from the mycelial solid culture of a soil-derived Ampelomyces fungus by antibacterial assay-guided fractionation. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic analysis. Compounds 1-3 showed structure and microbial dependent antibacterial activities.  相似文献

H2S has been often invoked as the initial source of sulfur in prebiotic evolution, and several sulfur-containing compounds have been proposed as intermediates in the primordial synthesis of biologically relevant sulfur-containing chemicals. The possibilities of synthesis of the principal key intermediates by glow discharges in CH4-N2-H2S mixtures is studied. It is shown that synthesis of important intermediates such as HCN, (CN)2, CHCCN and CH3SH is possible from such mixtures if the amount of H2S is not more than 10%. For higher amounts of H2S, the syntheses are strongly inhibited.  相似文献

The platensimycin (PTM) and platencin (PTN) class of natural products are promising drug leads that target bacterial and mammalian fatty acid synthases. Natural congeners and synthetic analogues of PTM and PTN have been instrumental in determining their structure–activity relationships, with only a few analogues retaining the potencies of PTM and PTN. Here we describe the identification and isolation of two new sulfur-containing PTM congeners (3 and 5) from the engineered dual PTM–PTN overproducing Streptomyces platensis SB12029. Structure elucidation of platensimycin D1 (5), a sulfur-containing PTM pseudo-dimer, revealed the existence of its presumptive thioacid precursor (3). The unstable thioacid 3 was isolated and confirmed by structural characterization of its permethylated product (6). LC–MS analysis of crude extracts of SB12029 confirmed the presence of the thioacid analogue of PTN (4). The minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) was determined for 5 revealing retention of the strong antibacterial activity of PTM.  相似文献
