There is an increasing demand to determine the clinical implication of experimental findings in molecular biomedical research. Survival (or failure time) analysis methodologies have been adapted to the analysis of genomics data to link molecular information with clinical outcomes of interest. Genome-wide molecular profiles have served as sources for discovery of predictive/prognostic biomarkers as well as therapeutic targets in the past decade. In this review, we overview currently available software, web applications, and databases specifically developed for survival analysis in genomics research and discuss issues in assessing clinical utility of molecular features derived from genomic profiling. 相似文献

金小蜂不仅是重要的昆虫天敌资源,还是理想的模式生物。2010年1月15日,3种金小蜂(丽蝇蛹集金小蜂Nasonia vitripennis、吉氏金小蜂N.giraulti和长角金小蜂N.longicornis)的基因组在《科学》上发表。这一事件标志着金小蜂研究"后基因组时代"的开始。金小蜂基因组测序完成后,科学家们就利用生物信息学、比较基因组学、功能基因组学等方法,基于基因组平台,在进化遗传学、发育生物学、神经生物学、行为学等领域开展了系列研究,取得了重要进展,国际著名杂志《昆虫分子生物学》和《遗传》还以特刊的形式进行刊载。本文就金小蜂基因组学相关研究取得的进展予以扼要概述,并探讨其研究方向和发展前景。 相似文献

Rice functional genomics is a scientific approach that seeks to identify and define the function of rice genes, and uncover when and how genes work together to produce phenotypic traits. Rapid progress in rice genome sequencing has facilitated research in rice functional genomics in China. The Ministry of Science and Technology of China has funded two major rice functional genomics research programmes for building up the infrastructures of the functional genomics study such as developing rice functional genomics tools and resources. The programmes were also aimed at cloning and functional analyses of a number of genes controlling important agronomic traits from rice. National and international collaborations on rice functional genomics study are accelerating rice gene discovery and application. 相似文献

In resistance-sized arteries, a chronic increase in blood flow leads to increases in arterial structural luminal diameter and arterial wall mass. In this review, we summarize recent evidence that outward remodeling of resistance arteries 1) can help maintain and restore tissue perfusion, 2) is not intimately related to flow-induced vasodilatation, 3) involves transient dedifferentiation and turnover of arterial smooth muscle cells, and 4) is preceded by increased expression of matricellular proteins, which have been shown to promote disassembly of focal adhesion sites. Studies of experimental and physiological resistance artery remodeling involving differential gene expression analyses and the use of knockout and transgenic mouse models can help unravel the mechanisms of outward remodeling. 相似文献

The spatial structure of the orderly organized chromatin in the nucleus has important roles in maintaining normal cell function and in regulation of gene expression, and the high-throughput Hi-C and Ch IA-PET methods have been widely used in various biological studies for determining potential spatial genome structures and their functions. However, there are still great difficulties and challenges in three-dimensional(3D) genomics research. More efficient, economical, and unbiased approaches to studying 3D genomics need to be developed for more widespread and easier applications. Here, we review the most recent studies on new 3D genomics research technologies, such as improvements of the traditional Hi-C and Ch IA-PET methods, new approaches based on non-proximal-ligation strategies, and imaging-based methods improved in recent years. Especially, we review the CRISPR-based methods for functional validations in 3D genomics, which could be the forthcoming directions. We hope this review can show some insights into the potential improvements for future 3D genomics. 相似文献
