寄生鳜鳃部的河鲈锚首吸虫的体壁由表皮合胞体、基板、环肌、纵肌和表皮细胞核周体所组成。合胞体顶部质膜起伏形成表皮的嵴纹,基部质膜折叠形成指状突起伸入到合胞体中。合胞体表面覆盖着一层糖萼。河鲈锚首吸虫的表皮中含有四类分泌体,即电子致密的分泌颗粒、中等电子致密的分泌颗粒、有膜包围的电子稀疏的分泌体和多囊体.可见分泌体和合胞体基质通过胞吐作用排到体外,未见吞饮小泡,推测表皮的主要功能在于分泌和渗透压调节而非营养吸收。在外侧头瓣的乳突状结构所在处,合胞层较薄,基板平滑,在实质组织中的一腔体样结构中可见囊状体、电子致密度各异的颗粒体、泡状体和电子致密的基质团,神经突起分布于腔体周围,这类乳突可能代表一类新的非纤毛感受器类型。  相似文献

血吸虫类中如血居科(sanguinicolidae)的Aporocotyle simplex Odhner,1900、裂体科(Schistosomatidae)的日本血吸虫(Schistosoma japonicum)曼氏血吸虫(S.mansoni)及埃及血吸虫(S.haematobium)等多种血吸虫均经扫描电镜观察(Johnson and Moriearts,1969;Silk et al., 1969;Robson and Erasmus, 1970; Miller et al., 1972; Kuntz et al.,1976、1977;Voge et al., 1978; Thulin, 1980;及何毅勋和马金鑫,1980等)。关于土耳其斯坦东毕吸虫[Orientobitharzia lurkestanica(skrjabin,1913)Dut et Srivastava,1955]的体表扫描电镜尚无报告,而只见有此虫种体壁及肠管的透射电镜观察的资料(Lavrov and Fedoseenke,1978)。本文部分作者最近在内蒙东部兴安岭以南部分地区进行牛羊土  相似文献

The tegumental ultrastructure of the intestinal fluke Bucephalus anguillae was studied with the use of scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The surface of the tegument is covered by transverse ridges from which protrude numerous closely packed, digitated, and claw-shaped spines. Cobblestone-like units of the tegument were observed on the crescent-shaped formation of the rhynchus and at the posterior part of the body. Three types of sensory structures were examined, i.e., 2 uniciliated receptors and 1 without cilia. As anterior-posterior differences were observed, particular attention was given to spines and sensory receptors. Spine insertion zones and average cilia length are variable between anterior and posterior tegument areas. Ultrastructural study revealed that the tegument of B. anguillae has a typical syncytial organization with a distal cytoplasm lying over a basal matrix and cytons below. Cytoplasmic bridges allowed transit of secretory vesicles and granules. Diagrams of spines and sensory receptors were made to help in understanding the nature of these structures.  相似文献

The tegument of the ancyrocephaline monogenean gill parasite Cichlidogyrus halli typicus is basically similar to that of other monogeneans. However, there are some tegumental features shared with relatively few other monogeneans, namely the presence in the surface tegument of extensive regions of homogeneous granular cytoplasm, a close association between myofibres and the basal region of the tegument and the production of two different tegumental secretory bodies by the same cyton. It is suggested that the regions of homogeneous granular cytoplasm found in the troughs between the circular muscle fibres provide some kind of support for the tegument, perhaps related to contraction of the tegumental circular muscle fibres and body shape changes. Three kinds of transtegumental sensory structures are recognized, namely a uniciliated bulb, a bulb bearing a non-ciliary process and a non-ciliated bulb. The latter two kinds are reported for the first time in monogenans. Possible functions of these sensory structures are discussed.  相似文献

The tegumental structures of newly excysted juveniles and adult worms of Clonorchis sinensis were studied using scanning and transmission electron microscopy. After excystation the juvenile's tegumental surface is characterized by knoblike protuberances and is armed almost entirely with numerous rows of small spines encircling the body. These spines are double- or triple-pointed on the anterior portion of the body and become single-pointed posteriorly. Four types of presumed sensory structures were observed as follow: A) ciliated knoblike papillae and B) nonciliated platelike papillae, both of which are arranged in rougly a bilaterally symmetrical pattern dorsally, ventrally, and laterally; C) rounded swellings of nonciliated papillae on the lips of the ventral and oral suckers, which are characterized in the transmission electron microscope by a rounded dense body in the apical bulb; and D) a sensory receptor with a bulbous projection having the appearance of a modified cilium, which was not found with SEM likely owing to its being enclosed by an extension of the tegument. In full-grown adult worms, the tegumental surface is knobbed or lobulated in various forms without surface spines. The tegumental structures in the adults appear to be clearly differentiated from those in the juveniles. Upraised, buttonlike papillae, each topped by a short cilium, which are similar to the Type A papillae in the juveniles, are distributed thickly around the oral and ventral suckers, and are rather randomly scattered over the remainder of the body. Some nonciliated swollen papillae were found on the lip of the ventral sucker.  相似文献

A standard procedure that combines chaetotaxic, ultrastructural and neuromorphological observations has recently provided a new perspective to the study of cercarial sensory systems. In the present work, we aimed to extend the use of this combination of techniques to investigate the chaetotaxy of Allassogonoporus sp. in conjunction with the ultrastructure of sensory receptors and neuromorphology. Five nerve regions were distinguished. A conspicuous bilobed cerebral ganglion was observed at the level of the pharynx. The chaetotaxic pattern was generally consistent with that of other lecithodendriids. Four types of receptors were distinguished with scanning electron microscopy. These types differed in cilium length (short, moderately long or long) and tegumentary collar length (moderately low or high). Internal ultrastructure of receptor type IIAL revealed an unsheathed cilium, a closed basal body, septate extracellular junctional complexes and thickened nerve collars. Some receptor types were site-specific. Long uniciliated receptors were found mainly on the dorsal surface, whereas short uniciliated receptors were widespread across the tegument. Ultrastructure and site-specificity observations suggest that most sensory receptors are mechanoreceptors, probably reflecting the important role mechanoreception plays in host finding.  相似文献

The fine structure of three sensory receptors of the rosette organ of Gyrocotyle rugosa, is described. The Type I sensory receptors, localised towards the edge of both upper and lower surfaces, are characterized by a long cilium embedded in a bulb containing two electron-dense collars and several mitochondria. The Type II sensory receptors, larger than Type I, are located on the upper surface of the rosette and have a long cilium and a ciliary rootlet. They also have two electron-dense collars and one or two mitochondria. The sensory cilia of both types are characterized by 9 + 2 axonemes. The Type III sensory receptors, localised on the under surface, lack a sensory cilium but have a ciliary rootlet and are enclosed in the tegument and musculature; there is a complicated three-dimensional spherical lattice of microfibrils associated with the rootlet. The sensory bulbs contain large numbers of membrane bound vesicles and neurotubules. A function is postulated for each of the three types of sensory receptors.  相似文献

The tegument of Orthocoelium scoliocoelium and Paramphistomum cervi was examined using histochemical techniques and electron microscopy. On the basis of the distribution of acid and alkaline phosphatase (E.C. 3.1.3.2, E.C. 3.1.3.1), non-specific esterase (E.C. 3.1.1.1), cholinesterase (E.C. 3.1.1.7) and succinate dehydrogenase (E.C. 1.3.99.1) at light microscope level two distinct regions were recognized, an outer and an inner zone. Electron microscopy revealed that the tegument comprises an outer surface syncytium underlain by a thick subsyncytial zone and musculature. Deeper still occur the nucleated "tegumental cells". The latter are in cytoplasmic continuity with the surface syncytium via vacuolated cytoplasmic trabeculae which traverse the muscle layers and the subsyncytial zone. Three types of tegumental cells each lacking mitochondria were observed. The T1 cells synthesize discoid and electron dense T1 bodies while T2 cells produce oval and electron lucent T2 bodies. The third type of tegumental cells apparently produce no secretory bodies and may represent an embryonic cell type. The surface syncytium contains T1 and T2 secretory bodies and is bounded apically by a plasma membrane invested externally by a fuzzy and filamentous glycocalyx. The surface syncytium lacks mitochondria and is traversed by infoldings of the basal plasma membrane. Beneath the surface syncytium the subsyncytial zone is largely comprised of fibrous interstitial material. This zone, which is particularly thick in the amphistomes, is traversed by trabeculae and extensions of underlying parenchymal cells which usually contain mitochondria and lysosomes. The subsyncytial zone overlies numerous circular and longitudinal muscle fibres. The absence of mitochondria and enzymes associated with active transport suggests that the amphistome tegument may be mainly specialized for protection of the worm against mechanical and chemical conditions prevailing in the rumen. Active uptake of nutrients is probably not a primary function.  相似文献

The fine structure of the ciliated sensory endings of the unactivated metacestode of Hymenolepis microstoma is described. The type I sensilla, localized in areas of the scolex and sucker tegument, are characterized by a long cilium (1.20 × 0.20 μ) embedded in a bulb containing two electron-dense collars and three to five mitochondria. The type II sensilla, located in tegumentary pits of the rostellum, are characterized by a short cilium (0.62 × 0.28 μ) possessing ciliary rootlets, embedded in a bulb containing a single electron-dense collar and one to three mitochondria. Both sensory cilia are characterized by a 9 + 6 + 1 microtubular substructure. The sensory bulbs contain large numbers of membrane bound electron-lucent vesicles; neurotubules are absent at this stage of development.  相似文献

Infection with the human liver fluke, Opisthorchis viverrini, is a serious public health problem in Thailand, Laos and nearby locations in Southeast Asia. Both experimental and epidemiological evidence strongly implicate liver fluke infection in the etiology of one of the liver cancer subtypes, cholangiocarcinoma (CCA). To identify parasite proteins critical for liver fluke survival and the etiology of CCA, OFFGEL electrophoresis and multiple reaction monitoring were employed to characterize 300 parasite proteins from the O. viverrini excretory/secretory products and, utilizing selective labeling and sequential solubilization, from the host‐exposed tegument. The excretory/secretory included a complex mixture of proteins that have been associated with cancers, including proteases of different mechanistic classes and orthologues of mammalian growth factors and anti‐apoptotic proteins. Also identified was a cysteine protease inhibitor which, in other helminth pathogens, induces nitric oxide production by macrophages, and, hence may contribute to malignant transformation of inflamed cells. More than 160 tegumental proteins were identified using sequential solubilization of isolated teguments, and a subset of these was localized to the surface membrane of the tegument by labeling living flukes with biotin and confirming surface localization with fluorescence microscopy. These included annexins, which are potential immuno‐modulators, and orthologues of the schistosomiasis vaccine antigens Sm29 and tetraspanin‐2. Novel roles in pathogenesis were suggested for the tegument–host interface since more than ten surface proteins had no homologues in the public databases. The O. viverrini proteins identified here provide an extensive catalogue of novel leads for research on the pathogenesis of opisthorchiasis and the development of novel interventions for this disease and CCA, as well as providing a scaffold for sequencing the genome of this fluke.  相似文献

The ventral sucker of Schistosoma mansoni cercaria is a cupshaped structure that is attached to the ventral surface of the organism by a homogeneous connective tissue that surrounds the acetabular glands. The sucker consists of an extensive complex of circular and longitudinal muscles. The longitudinal muscles extend outwoard in a radial pattern to form the cup of the organ. Intermingled with the muscles are nerve bundles and subtegumental cells (cytons). Dendritic nerve fibers connect to sensory papillae which are found on the surface tegument. Two types of sensory papillae are present: a commonly found unsheathed uniciliated papilla, and a previously unidentified tegumental encapsulated structure. The tegument of the paramphistome, Gastrodiscoides hominis, is basically similar to that of other digeneans. It is folded into concentrically arranged furrows and ridges bearing numerous tightly packed tubercules, and extends into the oral cavity. An area of specialized tegument is present on the ventral surface, anterior to the disc region. Mitochondria are absent from the tegumental syncytium and underlying tegumental cells, suggesting that the tegument may serve principally as a protective layer rather than in active uptake phenomena. However, extensions of the lymph and parenchyma systems are closely associated with the base of the tegumental syncytium and may provide ATP for active processes. Ciliated and non-ciliated sensory papillae are present, particularly around the oral opening. Numerous lymph channels are present in the sub-tegument and may be involved in osmoregulation.  相似文献

The effect of the deacetylated (amine) metabolite of diamphenethide (10 mugm/ml) on the tegument of Fasciola hepatica over a 24 hr period in vitro has been determined by means of transmission electron microscopy. In the tegumental syncytium, there is an initial accumulation of T2 secretory bodies at the apical surface (after 6 hr), together with increased exocytosis of secretory bodies and blebbing of the surface membrane. After 9 hr, the two surfaces of the fluke show different tegumental responses to drug treatment with a marked swelling of the basal infolds in the dorsal tegument, while the ventral tegument remains normal. By 18 hr, the swelling in the dorsal tegument is very severe, the entire basal region becoming edematous. In some areas, the tegument becomes detached to expose the basal lamina. The ventral tegument retains a fairly normal morphology, although there is a slight swelling of the basal infolds. The edema spreads internally to the cell bodies, beginning after 9 hr on the dorsal side of the fluke and 18 hr on the ventral side. By 18 hr, the flooding on the dorsal side is very severe and the cells attenuated, retaining few contacts with the surrounding parenchyma. From 9 hr onwards, there are progressive changes in cell structure, including a decrease in amount of granular endoplasmic reticulum and extent of its ribosomal covering, a decrease in numbers of secretory bodies, a swelling of the trans-most Golgi cisternae and disruption of the release of secretory bodies, and a swelling and disorganization of the mitochondria. The results are discussed in relation to the postulated activity of the deacetylated (amine) metabolite of diamphenethide as a Na+ ionophore.  相似文献

The tegumental ultrastructure of the cercaria of the liver fluke, Clonorchis sinensis (Cobbold, 1875), was studied by scanning and transmission electron microscopy. The body surface is almost encircled by many rows of regularly arranged spines. The tegumental syncytium of the body contains many rod-shaped dense granules and central electron-lucent bodies, neither of which are present in the tail tegument. There are four rows of hooked teeth and modified spines on the oral cone. These teeth are differentiated morphologically and probably functionally from the other body spines. Disc-shaped papillae with long or short cilia are distributed on the body in a bilaterally symmetrical pattern dorsally and ventrally. There are 30 to 37 papillae with much longer cilia laterally. Four pairs of papillae were found on the tail. From their structure and location these papillae appear to have a mainly tango- or rheoreceptive function. Another type of sheathed papillae is situated around the oral sucker. The cuticular tegument is expanded laterally at the base of the tail, forming a characteristic sac-like structure.  相似文献

The morphology of juvenile and adult stages of Acanthostomum spiniceps and A. absconditum, from bagrid fish of the river Nile in Egypt, was studied with both light and scanning electron microscopy. In early juveniles, circumoral spines are absent and the entire body surface is covered with tegumental spines. Late juveniles show gradual differentiation of the circumoral tegument into a collar of spines associated with a reduction in density of tegumental spines at the posterior extremity of the body. Genital primordia appear when juveniles are about 1.75 mm long. The distributions of tegumental spines on adult A. spiniceps and A. absconditum are similar. Spines are denser on the dorsal and ventral surfaces of the anterior and middle parts of the body and less dense towards the posterior end. The tegumental fold surrounding the ventral sucker of A. absconditum has spines while the fold of A. spiniceps lacks them. The most important morphological features differentiating both species are the number of circumoral spines, body shape, ratio of body length to width, sucker sizes, and the presence or absence of spines on the ventral sucker.  相似文献

The ultrastructure of the male accessory glands of the blow fly, Chrysomya megacephala (Fabricius), was presented using light microscopy (LM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). A pair of accessory glands was separated at opposite sites. Morphometric results using LM yield evidenced no significant difference in the median of either length or width of the left and right glands. A significant increment in both length and width was seen to plateau between three to six days. SEM observation showed that the surface of the glands revealed a faint irregular groove pattern throughout, and it was occasionally penetrated by tracheoles. Each gland was a slender, elongated sac‐like tubule having apical rounded ends, with a slight constriction at the sub‐apical part of the gland being observed occasionally. TEM analyses of three‐day‐old males showed that the glands consisted of external capsular cells with a basement membrane underneath, glandular cells, and gland lumen. The capsular cell was flat and contained a nucleus with electron dense material in the nuclear envelope. The glandular cell, appearing as columnar, consisted of a vacuolated component that contained a large oval nucleus centrally or sub‐basally located, with dense mitochondria, numerous rough endoplasmic reticulum, and secretory vesicles containing electron‐lucent materials. In the gland lumen, the cross‐section through the middle portion revealed dense secretory materials, characterized by electron‐dense materials. Some sections revealed a large lumen where secretion accumulates within the delicate sac. The seven‐day‐old glands exhibited a remarkable change in the lumen, where the whole space contained a large amount of secretory materials, with the electron‐dense materials being characterized as similar to those observed in three‐day‐old glands. About four prominent types of secretions were observed on the basis of difference in electron‐density.  相似文献

Members of the sessile rotifer species Cupelopagis vorax are unusual ambush predators that live permanently attached to submerged freshwater plants. Previous light microscopical research has revealed several uncommon features in this species including a stellate‐patterned integument and an expansive foregut region called the proventriculus. In this study, we apply transmission electron microscopy to explore the ultrastructure of both the integument and foregut to determine how they differ from other rotifers. Our results reveal that the integument is covered by a thick glycocalyx and is patterned with tubercles that originate from the intracytoplasmic lamina (ICL) within the syncytial epidermis. The ICL forms an apical layer within the syncytium, is electron dense and mostly amorphous, and forms tubercles up to 2.3 μm; these tubercles probably account for the patterned appearance of the integument and are similar to what has been found in other gnesiotrochan rotifers. The basal cytoplasm is highly granular and contains two types of membrane‐bound vesicles: large ovoid vesicles (320–411 nm) with amorphous, opaque contents, and secretory bulbs (110–264 nm) with electron‐lucent cores and occasionally electron‐dense contents. Only the secretory bulbs were observed to form connections to the apical plasmalemma, and so are probably exocytotic. Internally, the proventriculus is a large distensible sack that connects the anterior pharyngeal tube to the posterior mastax. The proventricular epithelium is a thin syncytium mostly covered with a dense glycocalyx and a strong brush border of microvilli underlain by a thin terminal web. The cytoplasm contains few organelles and there is no evidence that it is either secretory or has features (e.g., ICL) that might aid in maceration. We hypothesize that the thick glycocalyx might serve a protective function against the movements of live prey and/or against enzymes released from the rotifer's gastric glands that become regurgitated during feeding.  相似文献

The tegumental ultrastructure of juvenile and adult Himasthla alincia (Digenea: Echinostomatidae) was observed by scanning electron microscopy. One-, 5- (juveniles) and 20-day-old worms (adults) were harvested from chicks experimentally fed metacercariae from a bivalve, Mactra veneriformis. The juvenile worms were elongated and curved ventrally. The head crown bore 31 collar spines, arranged in a single row. The lip of the oral sucker had 12 paired, and 3 single type I sensory papillae, and the ventral sucker had about 25 type II sensory papillae. The anterolateral surface between the two suckers was densely packed with tegumental spines with 4-7 pointed tips. The adult worms were more elongated and filamentous, and had severe transverse folds over the whole body surface. On the head crown and two suckers, type I and II sensory papillae were more densely distributed than in the juvenile worms. Retractile brush-like spines, with 8-10 digits, were seen on the anterolateral surface, whereas claw-shaped spines, with 2-5 digits, were sparsely distributed posteriorly to the ventral sucker. The cirrus characteristically protruded out, and was armed with small spines distally. The surface ultrastructure of H. alincia was shown to be unique among echinostomes, especially in the digitation of its tegumental spines, the distribution of sensory papillae and by severe folds of the tegument.  相似文献

The following presumptive sense receptors of adult Multicotyle purvisi from the intestine of freshwater turtles in Malaya are described by transmission electron microscopy: disc-like receptor with many electron-dense collars and modified ciliary rootlet forming a 'disc'; non-ciliate receptor with long rootlet; non-ciliate receptor with branching rootlet and dense mass of irregularly arranged microtubules; non-ciliate receptor with rootlet fanning out from basal body, cross-striated in its upper and with electron-dense structures in its lower part; uniciliate receptor with thick layer of cytoplasm around axoneme; receptor with short cilium, at base of deep invagination of tegument; receptor with short cilium terminating in an electron-dense apical cap; and uniciliate receptor with long cilium. In addition, there may be a small non-ciliate receptor with a long ciliary rootlet at the base of the thick dorsal tegument, and uniciliate receptors differing from the uniciliate receptor with long cilium in the number of electron-dense collars and the length of the cilium and ciliary rootlet. Implications of the findings for the phylogeny of the parasitic Platyhelminthes and for evolutionary trends within that group arc discussed. The considerable degree of divergence of receptor types between the species of one family is attributed to the archaic nature of the group.  相似文献

The rotifer integument is a well‐described syncytium that contains an apical intracytoplasmic lamina (ICL) that functions for both skeletal support and muscle insertion. To date, there is limited information on the structure of the integument in species of Gnesiotrocha, a diverse subclade of Monogononta that consists of solitary, colonial, sessile, and planktonic species. In this study, we examined the ultrastructure of the integument in the colonial rotifer Sinantherina socialis to determine how it corresponds to that of other monogononts. The integument of S. socialis was broadly similar to that of other rotifers, consisting of a thickened glycocalyx, multilaminate ICL, and syncytial epidermis. However, it was different in several regards. The ICL consisted of three distinct layers from apical to basal: layer 1 consisted of at least two electron‐dense laminae; layer 2 was a thickened matrix of amorphous, electron‐dense material or was fibrous; and layer 3 was an electron‐dense lamina of varying thickness that covered the underlying syncytium. Significantly, layers 1 and 2 formed a ridge‐and‐groove like system of finger‐like projections across the trunk surface that has not been observed in other rotifers. A voluminous syncytial cytoplasm (up to 3 μm thick) was present beneath the ICL and was mostly electron lucent and with few organelles. Bundles of potential microtubules were scattered throughout the syncytium. We hypothesize that the voluminous cytoplasm with microtubules serves as skeletal support for the rotifer's sessile lifestyle, while the external ridges may function as a texture‐based deterrent to predators, or serves to trap secretions from the species' defensive glands. Basally, the epidermis was highly folded and bordered by a thin basal lamina that separated the plasmalemma from the blastocoel. Membrane‐bound vesicles were present throughout the integument's cytoplasm and are hypothesized to function in the secretion of extracellular matrix and in the maintenance of the ICL.  相似文献
