We investigated the plasma concentration of ghrelin peptide during pregnancy and lactation in rats. Plasma ghrelin levels on days 10 and 15 of pregnancy were significantly lower than those of the non-pregnant rats. Thereafter, the plasma ghrelin levels on day 20 of pregnancy sharply increased to levels comparable with those in non-pregnant rats. Ghrelin peptide concentrations in the stomach did not change significantly during pregnancy. In the hypothalamus, ghrelin mRNA levels were significantly lower on day 15 of pregnancy than in the non-pregnant rats. Also, plasma ghrelin levels were significantly lower in lactating dams than non-lactating controls on days 3 and 8 of lactation. We examined the possible involvement of prolactin and oxytocin in the regulation of plasma ghrelin concentrations during lactation. Although plasma prolactin levels were decreased by the administration of bromocriptine, plasma ghrelin levels did not differ significantly between vehicle- and drug-treated lactating rats. Administration of haloperidol produced a marked increase in plasma prolactin levels as compared with the non-lactating controls. However, plasma ghrelin levels were not significantly different between vehicle- and drug-treated rats. Administration of an oxytocin antagonist into the lateral ventricle significantly inhibited the increase in the plasma oxytocin level induced by acute suckling. However, plasma ghrelin levels did not significantly between the groups. These observations indicated that the decrease in serum ghrelin is caused by a loss of the contribution of hypothalamic ghrelin. Furthermore, the present results suggested that the suckling stimulus itself, but the release of prolactin or oxytocin, is the factor most likely to be responsible for the suppression of ghrelin secretion during lactation.  相似文献

In order to investigate the significance of oxytocin in pregnancy and labor, oxytocin concentrations in plasma and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) were determined using the specific radioimmunoassay. Plasma and CSF samples were obtained from 23 pregnant women (11 pre labor, 12 in labor), 15 nonpregnant women and 4 men at spinal puncture for anesthesia. In males and nongravidas, CSF levels of oxytocin were significantly higher than plasma levels. Plasma levels in pregnant patients pre or in labor were significantly higher than those in nongravidas. No significant difference between CSF levels in prelabor gravidas (mean +/- SE, 9.7 +/- 1.5 mu u/ml) and nongravidas (10.1 +/- 1.2 mu u/ml) was found. However, CSF levels in gravidas in labor (18.6 +/- 2.3 micromicrons/ml were significantly higher than the levels in prelabor gravidas. These results strongly suggest that oxytocin levels in human plasma and CSF are controlled by different mechanisms and that the increased oxytocin could have some specific central actions.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of strenuous exercise on plasma nitric oxide and iron (PI) concentrations in rats. The rats were divided into six groups: 3, 6 and 12 months of the exercise (swimming) groups and their corresponding controls. At the end of experimental periods, blood samples were collected to measure plasma NOx (nitrate and nitrite) and iron concentrations and other hematological indices. The correlative analysis of plasma NOx with PI in the exercised and the control rats was performed. The results showed that plasma NOx concentration was significantly greater and PI lower in the 3, 6, and 12 months of the exercise groups compared to their sedentary controls (p < 0.01). However, the duration of strenuous exercise had no significant effect on plasma NOx or PI contents. A negative correlation between plasma NOx and PI levels was found in all three exercise groups (r = -0.750, -0.578, and -0.808 and p < 0.01, 0.05, 0.01 respectively), but not in the sedentary control groups. These results imply that strenuous exercise may lead to an increase in plasma NOx concentration as well as a low iron level. They also suggest the possibility that the increased NO production might be associated with the development of the lower iron status in exercise.  相似文献

Concentrations of oxytocin were measured in corpora lutea obtained from heifers throughout the oestrous cycle and first 30 days of pregnancy. Values were low during the first 3 days of the cycle (less than 250 ng/g tissue), increasing to 1312 ng/g by Day 4. Values then further increased up to a maximum of 2344 ng/g on Day 12. Concentrations were similar in cyclic and pregnant animals throughout the midluteal phase and were maintained at approximately 1500 ng/g until the 18th (cyclic cows) or 19th (pregnant cows) day after oestrus, when they were again low. Values subsequently remained less than 250 ng/g in pregnant cattle. Concentrations of oxytocin in jugular venous plasma of cyclic (n = 5) and pregnant (n = 4) cows were measured in samples collected every 15 min for 8 h on Days 14, 16, 18 and 19 after oestrus. There were no significant differences in mean concentrations (range: 2.5-4.7 pg/ml) or in the number, frequency or area under the curve of episodes between either cyclic and pregnant animals, or between days. Mean basal concentrations were higher on Day 16 than on Day 14 (P less than 0.05), values on Days 18 and 19 being intermediate. These findings suggest that the corpus luteum contains a finite amount of releasable oxytocin, which is exhausted by Day 18-19 after oestrus, whether or not pregnancy occurs, and that there is no further accumulation of oxytocin in the animal during early pregnancy. The contribution of luteal oxytocin to jugular venous concentrations appears to be less than in sheep, in which values in the jugular vein closely parallel those within the corpus luteum.  相似文献

This study was undertaken to determine the effect of exogenous oxytocin on plasma concentrations of the prostaglandin (PG) F metabolite 13,14-dihydro-15-keto-PGF (PGFM) and the oxytocin-associated neurophysin (OT-N) during the estrous cycle and early pregnancy in the ewe. Ewes were given oxytocin (250 mU, i.v.) on Days 3 (n = 4), 8 (n = 5), 13 (n = 4) or 14 (n = 5) of the estrous cycle, and a further 6 ewes were injected on Days 13 (n = 2) and 14 (n = 4) of pregnancy. No significant rises in plasma concentrations of PGFM were observed on Days 3 and 8 of the estrous cycle and on Days 13 and 14 of pregnancy. A marked increase in plasma PGFM concentrations occurred on Day 14 of the estrous cycle with the PGFM levels rising from a mean basal value of 120 pg/ml to a mean maximum value of 415 pg/ml within 2-10 min of administering oxytocin (P less than 0.001). No increases in plasma OT-N concentrations were found in early pregnancy and only 1 of 4 ewes at Day 14 of the cycle showed any significant increase in OT-N concentrations. It is concluded that there is an increase in the responsiveness of the uterine-PGF secretory system to oxytocin during the latter stages of the estrous cycle. Blood samples were taken from conscious, chronically-catheterized rats during parturition for measurement of oxytocin by specific radioimmunoassay. After the birth of the 3rd pup, rats were allowed to remain in their nesting cage (undisturbed rats) or were transferred for 45 min to a glass bowl (disturbed rats); at the time of transfer, rats were given an i.v. injection of the opioid antagonist naloxone or saline vehicle. Subsequent parturition was prolonged in saline-treated disturbed rats, but not in naloxone-treated disturbed rats. Parturition was significantly hastened in naloxone-treated undisturbed rats. Naloxone injections were followed by a large rise in plasma oxytocin concentrations in disturbed and undisturbed rats. We conclude, from a statistical analysis of the relationship within experimental groups between plasma oxytocin concentration and speed of parturition, that the effects of disturbance and of naloxone upon parturition may be accounted for, at least in part, by their effects upon oxytocin release. However, the effects of disturbance on parturition may not be mediated entirely by activation of opioid pathways. Naloxone did not potentiate oxytocin release in non-pregnant rats, or on Day 1 post partum, but did potentiate oxytocin release on Day 22 of pregnancy even in rats before the onset of parturition. Endogenous opioid pathways regulating oxytocin release therefore appear to be active during late pregnancy and during parturition itself.  相似文献

The oxytocin concentration in the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and plasma of pregnant women at term with and without labor pain were measured by radioimmunoassay and compared with those of non-pregnant women of matched age. The oxytocin concentrations in the CSF were 4.9 +/- 4.1 microU/ml (mean +/- S.D.) in pregnant women with labor pain, 4.1 +/- 2.4 microU/ml in those without labor pain and 4.0 +/- 2.8 microU/ml in nonpregnant women, and the oxytocin concentrations in the plasma of these subjects were 45.2 +/- 19.6, 17.1 +/- 22.2 and 7.0 +/- 5.3 microU/ml, respectively. Thus the oxytocin level in the CSF did not change appreciably even when the level in the plasma was raised in the pregnant women with labor pain. These findings suggest that oxytocin does not penetrate the blood-brain barrier, and that oxytocin in the CFS has little or no central role in parturition in women.  相似文献

The New Zealand environment is low in selenium and iodine, and is therefore ideally suited for the study of these anionic trace elements. The aim of this study was to determine urinary excretion of selenium and iodine during pregnancy and postpartum as part of an investigation of the influence of pregnancy and lactation on selenium metabolism in women of low selenium status. In a double-blind placebo-controlled study, 35 women in the earliest stages of pregnancy and 17 non-pregnant women were recruited in Dunedin, New Zealand. Eighteen pregnant women received 50 μg selenium as L-selenomethionine, while the others received a placebo daily during pregnancy and 12 months postpartum. The non-pregnant women received the supplement, serving as a positive control. Blood samples and twenty-four hour urine samples were collected monthly during pregnancy and at 3, 6, and 12 months postpartum for analysis of selenium and iodine. Selenium content in plasma and urinary excretion of selenium fell during pregnancy; however, total excretion of selenium was greater during pregnancy than postpartum. Urinary iodine excretion was much lower than reported previously in New Zealand. Due to large intra- and inter-subject variability, no trends in iodide excretion were observed. Factors which influence urinary excretion of selenium include dietary intake, but more closely, plasma concentrations of selenium (which is probably related to total selenium pool), creatinine excretion and therefore lean body mass, and glomerular filtration rate. The exact mechanism and sequence of events remains unclear and future studies incorporating new speciation techniques are necessary.  相似文献

Blood plasma concentrations of 13,14-dihydro-15-keto PGF2 alpha (PGFM) were measured in groups of mature non-pregnant and pregnant camels to study PGF2 alpha release patterns around the time of luteolysis and the timing of the signal for pregnancy recognition. Injection of each of four camels with 10 and 50 mg of PGF2 alpha showed clearly that five times the dose of exogenous hormone produced five times the amount of PGFM in peripheral plasma, thereby indicating that, as in other animal species, PGFM is the principal metabolite of PGF2 alpha in the camel. Serial sampling of three non-pregnant camels on each of days 8, 10 and 12, and three pregnant camels on day 10, after ovulation for 8 h showed a significant (P < 0.05) rise in mean plasma PGFM concentrations only on day 10 in the non-pregnant, but not the pregnant, animals. A single intravenous injection of 20, 50 or 100 iu oxytocin given to three groups of three non-pregnant camels on day 10 after ovulation did not increase their basal serum PGFM concentrations. However, daily treatment of six non-pregnant camels between days 6 and 15 (n = 3) or 20 (n = 3) after ovulation with 1-2 g of the prostaglandin synthetase inhibitor, meclofenamic acid, inhibited PGF2 alpha release and thereby resulted in continued progesterone secretion throughout the period of meclofenamic acid administration. These results showed that, as in other large domestic animal species, release of PGF2 alpha from, presumably, the endometrium controls luteolysis in the dromedary camel. Furthermore, reduction in the amount of PGF2 alpha released is associated with luteal maintenance and the embryonic signal for maternal recognition of pregnancy must be transmitted before day 10 after ovulation if luteostasis is to be achieved. However, the results also indicate that, in contrast to ruminants, the release of endometrial PGF2 alpha in the non-pregnant camel may not be controlled by the release of oxytocin.  相似文献

Serial blood samples were taken from eight lactating women while they were nursing their babies 1–4 months postpartum, and from four lactating controls while they were not nursing. The plasma was assayed for oxytocin by radioimmunoassay after extraction with activated Vycor glass powder. In the suckling mothers mean plasma oxytocin rose from 5.4 pg/ml before nursing to 13.0 pg/ml during nursing. Oxytocin levels changed rapidly from minute to minute, with individual peaks as high as 54 pg/ml. Oxytocin levels in the control mothers averaged 4.4 pg/ml.  相似文献

Binding of [3H]oxytocin to uterine subcellular preparations ('oxytocin receptor concentrations') was measured in uterine tissue of heifers and multiparous dairy cows at various stages of the oestrous cycle and during early pregnancy. A method for the assay of ovine uterine oxytocin receptors was optimized for use on bovine tissue. Oxytocin receptor concentrations were increased in cyclic animals around the period of luteolysis and oestrus, rising on Day 15 in endometrium and on Day 17 in myometrium while pregnant animals showed no comparable rise. Receptor concentrations then declined on Day 3 after oestrus in myometrium and on Day 5 in endometrium. Some cyclic animals did not show the expected rise in receptors in the late luteal phase; these animals had abnormally high progesterone concentrations for this stage of the cycle. In animals slaughtered on Day 18 after oestrus and/or insemination which had low oxytocin receptor levels, plasma progesterone concentrations were consistently high; while all animals showing the late luteal phase elevation in receptor values had low progesterone concentrations. Oxytocin receptor and progesterone concentrations were negatively correlated (P less than 0.05). These data support the hypothesis that oxytocin receptor level is a key factor in the process of luteolysis in cattle and that in pregnancy there is suppression of uterine oxytocin receptor at the expected time of luteolysis. We suggest that uterine oxytocin receptor levels are partly controlled by circulating steroid hormones and are suppressed during early pregnancy.  相似文献

An epidemic of Zika virus (ZIKV) infection began in Colombia in October 2015. Previous studies have identified a cause-effect relationship between fetal exposure to the ZIKV and the development of microcephaly and other central nervous system (CNS) anomalies with variable degrees of neurodevelopmental delay. Less is known about the neurodevelopmental outcome of infants without CNS anomalies born to symptomatic ZIKV RT-PCR-positive women. We aimed to compare the neurodevelopmental outcome of these infants to a control group of infants without CNS anomalies born to asymptomatic ZIKV RT-PCR negative women who did not seroconvert during pregnancy. Participating infants were categorized according to ZIKV maternal exposure. Women with symptomatology suggestive of ZIKV infection and a positive RT-PCR for ZIKV were categorized as ZIKV-exposed. Maternal controls (ZIKV unexposed) from the same geographic area were subsequently captured during the tail end of the epidemic through a partner project, the ZIKAlliance, whose aim was to determine the prevalence of ZIKV in pregnant women. Infant survivors from these two groups of pregnant women had a neurodevelopmental evaluation at 12, 18, and 24 months corrected age (CA). The ZIKV-exposed women were found to be older, had less subsidized health care, had a higher percentage of women in middle-class socioeconomic strata, had higher technical and university education, were less likely to be living with a partner, and had higher rates of pregnancy comorbidity and premature births than ZIKV unexposed women. Compared to infants born to ZIKV unexposed women (unexposed), infants born to ZIKV exposed women (exposed) were of lower gestational age and required more speech and occupational therapy services. No differences between groups were observed in the proportion of cut-off scores <70 on the Bayley-III Scale at 12, 18, and 24 months for motor, language, and cognitive domains. When a cut-off of <85 was used, a higher percentage of motor and cognitive impairment was observed in unexposed infants at 12 and 24 months CA, respectively. Median and IQR score on the Bayley-III scale showed higher scores in favor of exposed infants for motor development at 12 and 18 months CA, language at 12 months, and cognitive domain at 12, 18, and 24 months. The adjusted median and IQR compound score of the difference between exposed and unexposed was higher in favor of exposed infants at 12 to 24 months CA for motor (3.8 [95% CI 1.0 to 6.7]) and cognitive domains (10.6 [95% CI 7.3 to 13.9]). We observed no differences in the language domain (1.9 [95% CI -1.2 to 5.0]). We conclude that infants with no evidence of microcephaly or other CNS anomalies born to ZIKV-exposed women had normal neurodevelopment up to 24 months of CA, supporting an all-or-nothing effect with maternal ZIKV exposure. In this paper, we aimed to assess cross-sectionally and longitudinally associations between disturbances in maternal early attachment experiences, symptoms of separation anxiety and depression and oxytocin plasma levels. We examined a mediational model that tested the hypothesis that anxious attachment style arising from the mothers’ early bonding experiences with her own parents was associated with high levels of separation anxiety which, via its impact on depression, was associated with reduced levels of oxytocin in the postnatal period. Data is reported on a structured sample of 127 women recruited during pregnancy from a general hospital antenatal clinic and an initial follow up cohort of 57 women who were re-assessed at 3-months post-partum. We found an association between lower oxytocin level in the post partum period and symptoms of separation anxiety and depression during pregnancy, as well as maternal negative interpersonal representations, upbringing attributes and anxious attachment style. Further meditational analysis revealed that the unique association between anxious attachment and depression is mediated by separation anxiety and that depressed mood mediated the relationship between separation anxiety and oxytocin. In conjunction with evidence from the literature suggesting that lower oxytocin level is associated with bonding difficulties, our findings have significant implications for understanding the biological processes underpinning adverse attachment experiences, negative affect state, and mother-to-infant bonding difficulties.  相似文献

ObjectiveTo assess women’s symptoms of depression and anxiety during pregnancy and the postpartum year in the pregnancy after stillbirth; to assess relevance of time since loss.DesignCohort study with four assessments: in third trimester and 6 weeks, 6 months, and 12 months after birth.SettingOutpatient departments of three district general hospitals; subjects’ homes.Subjects60 women whose previous pregnancy ended in stillbirth after 18 weeks’ gestation; 60 matched controls.ResultsIn the third trimester women whose previous pregnancy had ended in stillbirth were significantly more depressed than control women (10.8 v 8.2; P=0.004) and had greater state anxiety (39.8 v 32.8, P=0.003) The difference was accounted for by those women who conceived less than 12 months after the stillbirth, who were also more depressed at 1 year. Results in those who conceived 12 months or more after stillbirth were similar to those in their controls at all points and showed lower trait anxiety 1 year post partum. One year after the birth 8% of control women and 19% of subjects scored high for depression (P=0.39), with most of the depression among the more recently bereaved (28% v 11%; P=0.18). In the women who had experienced stillbirth, depression in the third trimester was highly predictive of depression 1 year after subsequent birth (P⩽0.0005).ConclusionVulnerability to depression and anxiety in the next pregnancy and puerperium is related to time since stillbirth, with more recently bereaved women at significantly greater risk than controls. As there are problems for mother and infant associated with high anxiety and depression during and after pregnancy, there may be advantage in waiting 12 months before the next conception.

In Experiment 1, an osmotic minipump containing oxytocin was implanted s.c. in ewes for 12 days beginning on Day 10 of the oestrous cycle, producing approximately 100 pg oxytocin/ml in the plasma. Two days after the start of infusion, all ewes were injected with 100 micrograms cloprostenol and placed with a fertile ram. At slaughter 22 days later, 9 (75%) of the 12 control (saline-infused) ewes were pregnant compared with 1 (11%) of the 9 ewes infused with oxytocin. In the control group, midcycle plasma concentrations of oxytocin were significantly higher in nonpregnant than in pregnant ewes. In Experiment 2, an infertile ram was used throughout to avoid any possible effects of pregnancy and oxytocin infusions were given at different stages of the oestrous cycle. Otherwise the protocol was similar to that in Exp. 1. Oxytocin infusion during luteolysis and the early follicular phase had no effect on the subsequent progesterone secretion pattern, but infusions beginning the day before cloprostenol-induced luteolysis and lasting for 7 or 12 days and infusions beginning on the day of oestrus for 4 days all delayed the subsequent rise in plasma progesterone by approximately 3-4 days. In these animals, the cycle tended to be longer. It was concluded that an appropriate oxytocin secretion pattern may be necessary for the establishment of pregnancy in ewes and that a high circulating oxytocin concentration during the early luteal phase delays the development of the young corpus luteum.  相似文献

The effect of subcutaneous oxytocin on plasma concentrations of 13,14-dihydro-15-keto-prostaglandin (PG) F2 alpha (PGFM) was examined in the goat at various periods during the oestrous cycle and early pregnancy. 100 i.u. oxytocin was administered daily for 4 day, the dose being divided and given at 0900 and 2100 h; PGFM concentrations were assessed after the first treatment of each day. On days 3-6 (oestrus, day 0) PGFM concentrations increased significantly (P less than 0.001) within 15 minutes and both non-pregnant and mated goats exhibited oestrus behaviour by day 7. Significant (P less than 0.01) increases in PGFM were also produced on days 7-10, in both non-pregnant and pregnant goats, but the responses diminished from day 7 to day 10; only one goat (non-pregnant) came into oestrus. There was a marked difference in response between groups, however, during days 12-15. In non-pregnant goats significant (P less than 0.05) increases in PGFM were detected on days 13-15, but in pregnant animals oxytocin was without effect. Similarly, oxytocin did not increase PGFM concentrations on days 17-20 of pregnancy. However, uterine responsiveness reappeared in pregnant goats with significant (P less than 0.01) increases in PGFM on days 24 and 25.  相似文献

The effects of administration of progesterone and oestradiol on ovine endometrial oxytocin receptor concentrations and plasma concentrations of 13,14-dihydro-15-keto prostaglandin F-2 alpha (PGFM) after oxytocin treatment were determined in ovariectomized ewes. Ewes received progestagen pre-treatment, progesterone and/or oestradiol in 11 different treatment schedules. Progestagen pre-treatment decreased oxytocin receptor concentrations in endometrium from ewes treated subsequently with either progesterone for 5 days or progesterone for 5 days plus oestradiol on Days 4 and 5 of progesterone treatment. Oestradiol increased endometrial oxytocin receptor concentrations when administered on Days 4 and 5 of 5 days progesterone treatment. Progestagen pre-treatment followed by progesterone treatment for 12 days caused a large increase in oxytocin receptors and no further increase occurred when ewes were given oestradiol on Days 11 and 12, or when progesterone was withdrawn on Days 11 and 12, or these two treatments were combined. Oxytocin administration caused an increase in plasma PGFM concentrations in ewes which did not receive progestagen pre-treatment, and subsequently received progesterone treatment for 5 days and oestradiol treatment on Days 4 and 5 of progesterone treatment. Similarly treated ewes which received progestagen pre-treatment did not respond to oxytocin. Oxytocin administration also increased plasma PGFM concentrations in ewes which received progestagen pre-treatment followed by progesterone treatment for 12 days, progesterone treatment for 12 days plus oestradiol on Day 11 and 12 of progesterone treatment, progesterone withdrawal on Day 11 and 12, or progesterone withdrawal and oestradiol treatment combined. The results indicate that (1) progesterone pre-treatment affects oxytocin receptor concentrations in the endometrium and uterine responsiveness to oxytocin and (2) progesterone treatment alone for 12 days after a treatment which mimics a previous luteal phase and oestrus is sufficient to induce oxytocin receptors and increase oxytocin-induced PGF release. These results emphasize the importance of progesterone and provide information which can be used to form an hypothesis for control of luteolysis and oestrous cycle length in the ewe.  相似文献

In order to evaluate the efficacy, the safety and the variation in plasma concentrations of estrogens, progesterone, PGFM, oxytocin, cortisol and prolactin after mid-pregnancy termination induced by aglepristone, 61 pregnant queens (33.3 + 4.2 days), were injected subcutaneously with 15 [corrected] mg/kg aglepristone, (Alizine) [corrected] repeated once 24 h later. Five queens served as control and received a placebo. The efficacy of aglepristone was 88.5% and termination of pregnancy was achieved in 50% of the queens within 3 days. Brief periods of depression and anorexia were noted in 9.3% of the queens before fetal expulsion (these symptoms were attributed to the phenomenon of fetal expulsions). Not one of the queens that aborted developed uterine disease. There were no changes in plasma concentrations of estrogen, prostaglandin, prolactin or oxytocin following aglepristone administration. The peripheral blood plasma concentration of estrone, progesterone and 15-keto-13, 14-dihydroprostaglandin F2alpha (PGF2alpha metabolite) were determined by radioimmunoassay techniques during the peripartal period in 5 buffalo cows belonging to a river type breed. Estrone levels started to increase from below 200 pg/ml about 15 days prior to parturition, and reached high concentrations (400-750 pg/ml) during the last 5 days of pregnancy. The estrone concentration decreased to baseline levels after delivery. The concentration of progesterone fluctuated between 800 and 2000 pg/ml until 15 days before calving and showed a gradual increase during the last 15 days of pregnancy. The progesterone levels declined abruptly on the day of calving and remained below 100 pg/ml for up to 60 days post-partum. Increased levels of the prostaglandin metabolite were recorded from 15 days prior to parturition with further increases occurring during the last 3 days of pregnancy. PGF2alpha metabolite levels declined gradually after parturition, reaching base line levels 15-20 days after calving.  相似文献

Plasma concentrations of oxytocin and progesterone have been measured by radioimmunoassay in jugular venous blood obtained daily from 5 sheep during 2 estrous cycles and in early pregnancy.Concentrations of oxytocin were relatively high (15–30 pg/ml) during the luteal phase of the cycle, but fell at estrus (to 1–17 pg/ml). A fall in oxytocin was also observed on day 15 of pregnancy, when, as expected, progesterone levels remained high. It is suggested that raised basal levels of oxytocin are unlikely to cause the increasing uterine release of prostaglandin F which occurs at the end of the estrous cycle.  相似文献
