Six ileally cannulated pigs (mean initial body weight 34.8 kg) were used to study the effect of microbial phytase on apparent ileal digestibility of P, total N and amino acids. Three P-adequate diets (digestible P concentration 2.3 g kg(- )l) containing barley (B), soyabean meal (S) or a mixture of the two (BS) with or without phytase supplement (1000 FTU x kg(-1)) were fed to pigs using a 6 x 6 Latin square design. The addition of phytase increased (p < 0.05) apparent ileal P digestibility of diets B, S and BS by 16.5, 19.2 and 19.2%, respectively. There was no effect of phytase on the ileal digestibility of total N. Apparent ileal digestibility of amino acids tended to increase in the BS diet supplemented with phytase (mean improvement of 2.2%); but no significant difference was found for any amino acid as compared with the unsupplemented diet. To asses the additivity of apparent amino acid digestibility, the determined values for the BS diet were compared to those calculated from digestibilities found in diets B and S. There were no significant differences between the determined and calculated values. It is concluded that the addition of microbial phytase to P-adequate diets does not affect ileal amino acid digestibility in growing pigs and that the apparent amino acid digestibility values determined in single ingredients may be additive when included into a complex diet.  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted to evaluate the nutritional value of three cultivars (Promore, Kiev mutant and Ultra) of white lupins (Lupinus albus L.) for broilers. In experiment 1, the apparent metabolisable energy (AME) and ileal amino acid digestibility coefficients of the three cultivars were determined. The cultivar effects were significant (P < 0.05) for AME, but the ileal amino acid digestibility coefficients were similar (P > 0.05) between cultivars. The AME value of Ultra cultivar was lower (P < 0.05) than those of Promore and Kiev mutant cultivars. In Experiment 2, using the AME and ileal digestible amino acid values determined in Experiment 1, diets containing 200 g/kg of lupin were formulated and the effects of feeding these diets on performance, digestive tract development and excreta quality of broiler starters were investigated. Weight gain, feed intake and feed per gain of broilers fed diets containing white lupins were similar (P > 0.05) to those fed the maize-soybean meal diet. The performance of birds fed diets containing different cultivars of white lupins was similar (P > 0.05). Several digestive tract parameters were influenced by the dietary inclusion of white lupins. In particular, the relative liver weight and the relative empty weights of small intestine and caeca in birds fed diets containing white lupins were higher (P < 0.05) than those fed the maize-soybean meal diet. No differences (P > 0.05) were observed in the excreta quality scores between the birds fed the maize-soybean meal diet and those fed diets containing white lupins.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

The study was conducted to determine effects of a complex of fibre-degrading enzymes (xylanase, cellulase and β-glucanase) on nutrient digestibility, fibre fermentation and concentrations of short chain fatty acids (SCFA) at different parts of digestive tract in pigs fed different fibre-rich ingredients. A total of 36 barrows fitted with T-cannulas in the distal ileum (initial body weight of 41.1 ± 2.7 kg) were randomly allotted to six dietary treatments with three different high-fibre diets including maize bran (MB), sugar beet pulp (SBP) and soybean hulls (SH) with or without supplementation of fibre-degrading enzymes. Enzyme supplementation improved (p < 0.05) apparent ileal digestibility (AID) of dietary gross energy (GE), crude protein, dry matter (DM), organic matter (OM), total dietary fibre (TDF), neutral detergent fibre (NDF) and apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of dietary GE, DM, OM, TDF, insoluble dietary fibre (IDF) when pigs were fed MB, SBP or SH diets. When compared to the SBP and SH diets, the AID of GE, DM, ash, OM and NDF in diet MB was higher (p < 0.05), but the hindgut disappearance and ATTD of nutrients, except for ether extract and crude ash, were lower (p < 0.05). Enzyme supplementation increased acetate and total SCFA concentrations in ileal digesta and faeces of pigs. In conclusion, enzyme addition improved IDF fermentation and SCFA concentration in the whole intestine of pigs, and there was a large variation of digestibility of fibre components among MB, SH and SBP owing to their different fibre composition. Therefore, fibre-degrading enzymes should be applied to fibrous diets to improve efficient production of swine, especially considering low fibre digestibility of fibre-rich ingredients.  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted to determine the effect of enzyme supplementation on the nitrogen-corrected apparent metabolisable energy (AMEn) and apparent nutrient digestibilities in ileum and excreta from male broiler chickens fed diets containing high amounts of wheat (>80%). Four different enzyme preparations were added to the wheat-based diets in varying levels and combinations. The difference between Experiments 1 and 2 consisted in the addition of different enzymes and enzyme levels. Excreta and ileal content were collected from broiler chickens at 3 and 6 weeks of age. At 3 weeks of age enzyme supplementation increased (P<0.0001) the AMEn from an average value of 13.86 MJ kg−1 dry matter (DM) to an average of 14.60 MJ kg−1 DM in the two experiments. The apparent digestibility of protein (APD) and fat (AFD) were improved significantly as a result of enzyme addition in both experiments. At 3 weeks of age, improvements (P<0.05) in the ileal AFD and APD were on average 13% and 6%, respectively. The effect of enzyme supplementation on AFD measured in excreta from broiler chickens showed the same pattern. The positive effect of enzyme addition on the overall nutrient digestibility and AMEn was reflected in weight gain and feed conversion efficiency (FCE). Significant improvements in AMEn, APD, and AFD were still present in most of the groups fed with enzyme-supplemented diets at 6 weeks of age. The effect of enzyme addition, however, was less pronounced, especially in Experiment 1 where the ileal APD of broiler chickens did not differ significantly from the control group. Apparent starch digestibility (ASD), measured in Experiment 2, was very high in all groups, including the control; however, enzyme supplementation increased ASD (P<0.001) in ileum and excreta at both 3 and 6 weeks of age. The digestibility of total non-starch polysaccharides (NSP) in excreta was improved significantly (P<0.01) as a result of enzyme supplementation (Experiment 2). In addition, pH of caeca content decreased (P<0.02) in broiler chickens fed with enzyme-supplemented diets when compared with the control group. Decreased pH could indicate microbial fermentation of unabsorbed NSP residues and nitrogenous compounds. Overall, the results demonstrated that the nutritive value of wheat-based diets to broiler chickens improve enzyme supplementation. The apparent digestibility of total NSP and of arabinose and xylose residues improved (P<0.02) in the enzyme-supplemented diets indicating that the enzymes were able to break down the cell wall NSP to a certain extent.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to investigate the effect of corn distillers dried grains with solubles (cDDGS) and xylanase in corn-based diets on growth performance and digestibility of diet components in broiler chickens. The experiment was a 3×4 factorial design with diets containing 3 levels of cDDGS (0, 100 and 200 g/kg) and 4 levels of xylanase (0, 1200, 2400 and 3600 U/kg). The diets were fed to 720 Cobb 500 chicks for 42 days. Excreta was collected at 18–21 days to measure coefficients of total tract apparent digestibility (CTTAD) and ileal digesta was collected at 42 days to measure coefficients of ileal apparent digestibility (CIAD). Dietary cDDGS caused poor (P<0.05) feed conversion ratio (FCR) of broilers from 1 to 21 and 22 to 42 days, but increased (P<0.05) feed intake (FI) at 1–21 days. Inclusion of xylanase increased (P<0.05) FI by 4–5% at 1–21 days, and did not affect (P≥0.05) FCR in either period. In the two growing periods, cDDGS decreased (P<0.05) the CTTAD of dry matter (DM), and the CIAD of DM and hemicelluloses, whereas xylanase increased (P<0.05) the digestibility of DM and hemicellulose by 5% and 20%, respectively. There were significant interactions (P<0.05) between cDDGS and xylanase for BWG and energy digestibility. In comparison with the 100 g/kg cDDGS diet, the inclusion of 200 g/kg cDDGS led to poorer (P<0.05) FCR at 22–42 days, and lower (P<0.05) CTTAD of DM at 18–21 days. There were no differences (P≥0.05) in most growth parameters between the doses of xylanase at 1200, 2400 and 3600 U/kg. Xylanase at 2400 U/kg increased (P<0.05) CTTAD of DM compared with the lower dose, but 3600 U/kg xylanase showed no further improvement (P≥0.05) on digestibility measurements. The results suggest that supplementing xylanase to diets containing cDDGS can improve growth performance and digestibility of diet components in broilers.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to determine true phosphorus (P) digestibility, degradability of phytate-P complex and the endogenous P outputs associated with brown rice feeding in weanling pigs by using the simple linear regression analysis technique. Six barrows with an average initial body weight of 12.5 kg were fitted with a T-cannula and fed six diets according to a 6 × 6 Latin-square design. Six maize starch-based diets, containing six levels of P at 0.80, 1.36, 1.93, 2.49, 3.04, and 3.61 g/kg per kg dry-matter (DM) intake (DMI), were formulated with brown rice. Each experimental period lasted 10 days. After a 7-day adaptation, all faecal samples were collected on days 8 and 9. Ileal digesta samples were collected for a total of 24 h on day 10. The apparent ileal and faecal P digestibility values of brown rice were affected ( P < 0.01) by the P contents in the assay diets. The apparent ileal and faecal P digestibility values increased from − 48.0 to 36.7% and from − 35.6 to 40.0%, respectively, as P content increased from 0.80 to 3.61 g/kg DMI. Linear relationships ( P < 0.05), expressed as g/kg DMI, between the apparent ileal and faecal digestible P and dietary levels of P, suggested that true P digestibility and the endogenous P outputs associated with brown rice feeding could be determined by using the simple regression analysis technique. There were no differences ( P>0.05) in true P digestibility values (57.7 ± 5.4 v. 58.2 ± 5.9%), phytate P degradability (76.4 ± 6.7 v. 79.0 ± 4.4%) and the endogenous P outputs (0.812 ± 0..096 v. 0.725 ± 0.083 g/kg DMI) between the ileal and the faecal levels. The endogenous faecal P output represented 14 and 25% of the National Research Council (1998) recommended daily total and available P requirements in the weanling pig, respectively. About 58% of the total P in brown rice could be digested and absorbed by the weanling pig. Our results suggest that the large intestine of the weanling pigs does not play a significant role in the digestion of P in brown rice. Diet formulation on the basis of total or apparent P digestibility with brown rice may lead to P overfeeding and excessive P excretion in pigs.  相似文献

In an attempt to explain the poorer performance and lower fat digestibility often encountered with Canola seed diets, maize and soya bean diets containing 20% Canola seed or an equivalent amount of added fat (8%) from maize oil, Canola oil, tallow or an animal—vegetable blend fat, were given to broiler chicks. Although significant differences in feedgain ratios and fat digestibility were noticed, all diets promoted good growth, and dietary fat appeared to be well utilized. In a second experiment, to reinvestigate the effects of mash vs. pelleted diets, marked improvements were noted in performance, and especially in the digestibility of the fat from Canola seed diets, in response to steam pelleting. Examination of the mash diet revealed approximately 6% whole Canola seeds and other seeds at various degrees of pulverization.A third experiment compared Canola seed passed once or twice through a hammer mill, either by itself or mixed 50:50 (w/w) with maize, before being mixed with other dietary ingredients. Again, whole seeds were noted in the ground material. The Canola seed mixed with maize and ground once had 26% whole seeds, while the seed ground twice by itself had no whole seeds but many that were little better than cracked. All diets were given as mash or as steam crumbles. Marked improvements in weight gain and feedgain ratios and fat digestibility were noted for the crumbled vs. the mash diets. It is obvious that some of the variable results reported for Canola seed can be related to fineness of grind of the material. The steam pelleting process results in sufficient pulverization, or breaking up of the seed, to allow for optimum performance with diets containing up to 20% Canola seed. Heating per se might also be an important consideration in steam pelleting. One can conclude that up to 20% Canola seed can be used in steam-pelleted diets based on maize and soya bean meal without altering broiler performance.  相似文献

The growth of broiler chicks and the mechanisms underlying responses to diets supplemented with commercial non-starch polysaccharides were evaluated. The supplements varied in viscosity and chemical structure and evaluation was conducted over two feeding periods. The viscosity of the four supplements tested ranged from 1.38 cP for alginic acid (AL) to over 2000 cP for guar gum (GG) and gum xanthan (GX). The whole diet followed a similar trend. The ileal digesta viscosity was significantly highest (P<0.001) in chicks that were fed the GX diet.Over a period of 7 days of feeding the diets, there was a significant reduction (P<0.001) in the final body weight and weight gain of chickens on diets supplemented with GG and GX. Supplementation with GG and GX also resulted in a deterioration (P<0.001) in FCR.The weight of the small intestine was higher (P<0.001) on the GG-supplemented diet than on the other diets while small intestinal fill was increased by the presence of GG and GX. There was no significant variation in the mucosal morphometry of birds on the different diets. Jejunal maltase and sucrase activities were highest (P<0.001) in chicks that were fed the AL-supplemented diet and lowest in chicks fed the GX-supplemented diet. The activity of aminopeptidase N in the ileum was stimulated (P<0.05) by GX. The uptake of l-tryptophan into brush-border membrane vesicles was unaffected by NSP supplement. After a second period of feeding the diets containing NSP at half the level present in the first period, final body weight and weight gain were significantly higher (P<0.001) on the gum arabic (GA)-supplemented diet than on the other diets. Absolute feed intake (P<0.05), feed intake per unit of initial body weight (P<0.001) and FCR (P<0.001) were significantly affected by the supplements, being higher in chicks on the GX-supplemented diet than on the other diets. The weight (P<0.001) and capacity (P<0.01) of the small intestine were highest in chicks on the GG- and GX-supplemented diets, respectively. The crypt depth of the jejunal mucosa was higher (P<0.01) in chickens on the GX-supplemented than in the other chickens. Ileal crypts were deepest and villi longest (P<0.05) in chicks on the GG- and GA-supplemented diets, respectively.Jejunal mucosal DNA (P<0.05) and RNA (P<0.001) contents of chicks were significantly increased by the GA-supplemented diet. In the ileum, RNA content (P<0.01) and RNA:DNA ratio (P<0.001) were reduced in chicks raised on the more viscous diets.Ileal maltase activity was also significantly higher (P<0.01) in chicks on the GX diet than in chicks on the other diets. l-Tryptophan uptake by ileal brush-border membranes was lowest (P<0.05) in chicks on the GA-supplemented diet.  相似文献

Two experiments were carried out to investigate the effect of pelleting on the apparent total tract digestibility (ATTD) of energy and nutrients according to the dietary fibre (DF) level in growing pigs (experiment 1) and in adult sows (experiment 2). Four diets based on wheat, barley, maize and soybean meal and supplemented with increased contents of a mixture of wheat bran, maize bran, soybean hulls and sugar beet pulp (116, 192, 268 and 344 g NDF/kg dry matter (DM) in diets 1 to 4) were tested. In experiment 1, 32 growing pigs (62 kg average BW), in two replicates and according to a factorial design, were fed one of the four diets, either as mash or as pellets. The digestibility of energy, organic matter (OM) and all nutrients decreased with DF increasing for both feed forms; the reduction was about 1% for each 1% NDF increase in the diet (P < 0.001). Pelleting improved moderately the digestibility of energy and OM (+1.5% and +1.0%, respectively; P < 0.05) in connection with greater DF (+5%; P < 0.05) and fat digestibility (+25%). Thus, pelleting improved the digestible energy content of diets on average by 0.3 MJ/kg of feed DM (P < 0.01). In experiment 2, four adult dry sows (235 kg average BW) were used in a 4 × 4 Latin square design and fed the four diets used in experiment 1 as pellets. The digestibility of energy, OM and macronutrients also decreased with DF increase (P < 0.001; -0.4% per 1% increase of dietary NDF for energy) while the digestibility of DF (i.e. crude fibre (CF) or ADF) increased (P < 0.001) or remained at a high level. In conclusion, increasing DF in diets decreases the digestibility of nutrients and energy in pigs and in sows. Although positive, the pelleting impact is minor on the energy and nutrients digestibility of fibre-rich diets in growing pigs, even in high-DF diets.  相似文献

An experiment with broiler chickens was conducted to study the effect of inclusion of blue lupins and exogenous enzyme to broiler diets on the apparent metabolisable energy (AME), digestibility and performance. Two basal diets were formulated: a non-lupin diet A based on soya bean meal and maize, and a diet B where parts of soya bean meal and maize were substituted with blue lupin (200 g/kg). The two basal diets were fed either alone or, for diet B in combination with different enzyme preparations (Bio-Feed Plus, lactase, two galactanases (Gal-I and Gal-II)). The experiment was performed in battery cages with 648 male broiler chickens, where eight experimental diets were fed to the chickens from 7 to 21 days of age and weight gain and feed intake were measured during the period. At the end of the experiment, three chickens from each pen were slaughtered and the content from jejunum and ileum was separately collected and pooled and used for measurement on intestinal viscosity. For measurements of the apparent metabolisable energy and the apparent digestibility, excreta were collected at 22–24 days of age and ileal contents collected at 25–26 days from the remaining chickens.

Substitution of soya bean meal and maize with blue lupin depressed weight gain (9%) and feed conversion ratio (12%) significantly. Feed intake of the lupin-based diets was not decreased. The protein in lupin was digested to the same extent as the protein from soya bean meal, the coefficient of ileal apparent digestibility being on average 0.75. However, the high content of the non-starch polysaccharides (NSP; 450 g/kg) in lupin depressed the apparent digestibility of the organic matter by approximately 10%. The AMEn of the non-lupin diet was 14.01 MJ/kg dry matter (DM) compared to a value of 13.11 MJ/kg DM in the lupin control diet. Improvements in the measured parameters were seen with some of the enzymes. Gal-I, and Gal-II in combination with lactase were the most efficient enzymes concerning improvement in AMEn and performance. Weight gain was increased by 3.5–5.5% by addition with these enzymes. Gal-I increased the AMEn significantly to 13.65 MJ/kg, a value not significantly different from the AMEn of the non-lupin diet. There was no effect of addition with the different enzymes on the coefficients of apparent digestibility of organic matter measured in the ileum, whereas addition with Gal-I to the lupin diet increased the apparent digestibility of organic matter over the total tract by 3%. The mode of action of the galactanases has been to hydrolyse the galactan in the NSP cell wall of lupins to galactose and dimers of galactose, which are energy-yielding to poultry. From the results obtained, it can be indicated that Gal-I increased the energy utilisation of the lupin-based diet, confirmed by the improved AMEn content and performance.  相似文献

Oven drying of maize cobs treated with 5 kg NaOH/100 kg dry matter (DM) did not influence digestibility but improved voluntary feed intake. The incorporation of nitrogen in the form of urea at 0, 0.5, 1.0 and 1.5% in the diets was useful in improving the digestibility of DM, organic matter (OM) and cell wall constituents (CWC). The response was linear. In one experiment, sugarcane molasses at 20% of a diet based on NaOH-treated maize cobs was completely replaced by cassava flour, maize meal or maize bran, and these had a detrimental effect both on voluntary feed intake and digestibility. The knowledge gained in the series of experiments was used in formulating complete diets for a 63-day experiment involving 9–15-month-old growing dairy heifers. Six animals per group were assigned to control or NaOH-treated cobs diets, the mean growth rate was significantly (P < 0.01) improved from 0.412 to 0.585 kg per day and the DM consumed per unit gain was reduced from 13.0 to 11.5 kg by NaOH treatment.  相似文献

The aim of this experiment was to evaluate the effects of bioactive peptides derived from enzymatic hydrolysis of cottonseed meal (CSBP) compared with zinc bacitracin, as an antibiotic growth promoter (AGP), on productive traits, serum lipid profile, and ileal microbial population in broiler chickens. A total number of 240-day-old broiler chicks (Ross 308) were allocated into 4 treatments, replicated 5 times based on a completely randomized design. The dietary treatments included a basal diet serving as control group, basal diet?+?40 mg/kg zinc bacitracin as AGP group, and the basal diet supplemented with 15 or 20 g/kg CSBP substituting equal quantity of maize and soybean meal. Performance traits, including daily weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio (FCR), and livability were recorded. At the end of the study, serum lipid parameters, ileal microbial population, and economical indices were determined. The results indicated that feed intake and FCR increased (P?<?0.05) in birds receiving 20 g/kg CSBP over the entire period (1–35 days), but there was no significant effect of CSBP on body weight, although numerically higher than the control group. However, the antibiotic group showed a significant increase (P?<?0.05) in body weight and feed intake. Livability, European Production Efficiency Factor (EPEF), and European Broiler Index (EBI) significantly improved in broiler chickens fed antibiotic and 15 g/kg CSBP supplement (P?<?0.05). Adding 20 g/kg of CSBP to the diet significantly increased serum triglycerides and decreased low-density lipoproteins (LDL) compared to the control and antibiotic groups on day 35. The relative weight of abdominal fat and LDL to HDL ratio were significantly lower for CSBP and antibiotic treatments than the control group (P?<?0.05). Supplementation of antibiotic and both graded levels of CSBP decreased the ileum population of Escherichia coli (P?<?0.05). The current findings suggest that including CSBP in broiler diets may benefit production through improving growth rate of broilers and balancing gut microbiota population. In addition, CSBP could be considered as a potential alternative to antibiotics in an AGP free production system.

The following grain characteristics: protein, arabinoxylan and dietary fibre content, viscosity and water holding capacity of wheat, rye and triticale of different ploidy levels were studied as to their effect on body weight gain (BWG), feed to gain ratio (FCR), apparent metabolizable energy (AMEn), dry matter digestibility (DMD) and apparent protein retention (APR) in young broiler chicks fed isograin and isoprotein diets based on these cereals. Highly significant correlations (p≤0.01) were found between physicochemical and biological quality indicators when all cereals were taken into account. A negative response of chicks to triticale was obtained only when chicks were fed diets containing the tetraploid forms, while the nutrition parameters of chicks fed diets containing the octo- and hexaploid triticale, with rye genome shares of 1 : 3 and 1 : 2, did not differ (p≥0.05) from those fed a wheat diet. Rye diets yielded the lowest BWG, AMEn and DMD and the poorest FCR. The results indicate that as long as the share of the R genome is a minor component of the total triticale genome pool, its antinutritional effect is masked by the wheat genome. The results also indicate that hexaploid triticale can constitute the sole cereal component in the diets of young broiler chicks.  相似文献

The relationship between ileal endogenous nitrogen (N) losses and N retention was studied in two experiments with growing pigs of 40 to 60 kg. In Experiment 1, 13 ileal cannulated castrated males were fed diets based on maize starch, containing either soyabean meal (SBM) with a low trypsin inhibitor activity (TIA), a mixture of toasted and untoasted soyabean meal with a high TIA (mSBM), a commercial batch of peas, or rapeseed expeller cake (RC). Ileal endogenous N recovery was measured using the 15N-isotope dilution technique. Apparent ileal digestibility of crude protein (CP) for the SBM, mSBM, pea and RC diets were 82.8, 72.0, 76.7 and 68.7% (P < 0.05). True ileal CP digestibility for the diets was 96.5, 93.0, 94.0 and 87.5% (P < 0.05), and the recovery of ileal endogenous N was 3.08, 6.01, 4.55 and 5.36 g/kg DMI (P < 0.05). In Experiment 2, sixteen castrated males were used to determine N retention, using almost similar diets as in Experiment 1. The diets contained either SBM, mSBM or peas and were balanced for the contents of apparent ileal digestible (ID) CP (96 g/kg) and ID essential amino acids (EAA; at least 85% of requirement values). The fourth treatment was a diet with mSBM as protein source, but supplemented with EAA to the level of 95% of the requirement values (diet mSBMs). Apparent faecal CP digestibility for the SBM, mSBM, pea and mSBMs diets was 88.6, 87.2, 86.1 and 86.0% (P < 0.05). Urinary N excretion and N retention for these treatments were 0.39, 0.59, 0.40, 0.53 (P < 0.05) and 0.87, 0.80, 0.85, 0.84 g/kg0.75/day (P < 0.05), respectively. Utilization of dietary ID N for N retention were 79.8, 73.3, 78.2 and 77.6% (P < 0.05), respectively. The study showed that increased ileal endogenous N losses are associated with higher losses of urinary N and with a lower N retention. Supplementation of extra essential AA to a diet causing a relatively high flow of ileal endogenous N, may compensate for the lower N utilization under these conditions, and thus limit effects on N retention.  相似文献

To determine whether non-fibrous carbohydrate (NFC) supplementation improves fiber digestibility and microbial protein synthesis, 18 Corriedale ewes with a fixed intake level (40 g dry matter (DM)/kg BW0.75) were assigned to three (n = 6) diets: F = 100% fresh temperate forage, FG = 70% forage + 30% barley grain and FGM = 70% forage + 15% barley grain + 15% molasses-based product (MBP, Kalori 3000). Two experimental periods were carried out, with late (P1) and early (P2) vegetative stage forage. For P2, ewes were fitted with ruminal catheters. Forage was distributed at 0900 h, 1300 h, 1800 h and 2300 h, and supplement added at 0900 h and 1800 h meals. Digestibility of the different components of the diets, retained N and rumen microbial protein synthesis were determined. At the end of P2, ruminal pH and N-NH3 concentration were determined hourly for 24 h. Supplementation increased digestibility of DM (P < 0.001) and organic matter (OM; P < 0.001) and reduced NDF digestibility (P = 0.043) in both periods, with greater values in P2 (P = 0.008) for the three diets. Daily mean ruminal pH differed (P < 0.05) among treatments: 6.33 (F), 6.15 (FG) and 6.51 (FGM). The high pH in FGM was attributed to Ca(OH)2 in MBP. Therefore, the decreased fiber digestibility in supplemented diets could not be attributed to pH changes. The mean ruminal concentration of N-NH3 was 18.0 mg/dl, without differences among treatments or sampling hours. Microbial protein synthesis was greater in P2 (8.0 g/day) than in P1 (6.1 g/day; P = 0.006), but treatments did not enhance this parameter. The efficiency of protein synthesis tended to be lower in supplemented groups (16.4, 13.9 and 13.4 in P1, and 20.8, 16.7 and 16.2 g N/kg digestible OM ingested in P2, for F, FG and FGM, respectively; P = 0.07) without differences between supplements. The same tendency was observed for retained N: 2.55, 1.38 and 1.98 in P1, and 2.28, 1.23 and 1.10 g/day in P2, for F, FG and FGM, respectively; P = 0.05). The efficiency of microbial protein synthesis was greater in P2 (P = 0.007). In conclusion, addition of feeds containing NFCs to fresh temperate forage reduced the digestibility of cell walls and did not improve microbial protein synthesis or its efficiency. An increase in these parameters was associated to the early phenological stage of the forage.  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted to determine the effects of protease and phytase (PP) and a Bacillus sp. direct-fed microbial (DFM) on dietary energy and nutrient utilization in broiler chickens. In the first experiment, Ross 308 broiler chicks were fed diets supplemented with PP and DFM in a 2×2 factorial arrangement. The 4 diets (control (CON), CON + PP, CON + DFM, and CON + PP + DFM) were fed from 15–21 days of age. In Experiment 1, significant interaction (P≤0.01) between PP and DFM on the apparent ileal digestibility coefficient for starch, crude protein, and amino acid indicated that both additives increased the digestibility. Both additives increased the nitrogen retention coefficient with a significant interaction (P≤0.01). Although no interaction was observed, significant main effects (P≤0.01) for nitrogen-corrected apparent ME (AMEn) for PP or DFM indicated an additive response. In a follow-up experiment, Ross 308 broiler chicks were fed the same experimental diets from 1–21 days of age. Activities of ileal brush border maltase, sucrase, and L-alanine aminopeptidase were increased (P≤0.01) by PP addition, while a trend (P = 0.07) for increased sucrase activity was observed in chickens fed DFM, in Experiment 2. The proportion of cecal butyrate was increased (P≤0.01) by DFM addition. Increased nutrient utilization and nitrogen retention appear to involve separate but complementary mechanisms for PP and DFM, however AMEn responses appear to have separate and additive mechanisms.  相似文献

A trial was conducted to test the effect of fine grinding (micronization) of soya bean meal (SBM) and full-fat soya bean (FFSB) on coefficient of ileal apparent digestibility (CIAD) and coefficient of ileal true digestibility (CITD) of amino acids in 23-day-old broilers. A completely randomized block design with four treatments arranged factorially (SBM and FFSB; micronized and ground) and six replicates (eight broilers per treatment) was used. Mean particle size (MPS) was 47 and 41 μm for micronized SBM and FFSB and 881 and 778 μm for ground SBM and FFSB, respectively. The four diets were based on maize starch and sucrose with the soya product tested as the sole source of dietary crude protein (CP, 200 g/kg). In addition, a nitrogen-free diet was formulated to estimate the basal ileal endogenous losses of the amino acids. Broilers were fed a commercial pelleted maize-SBM diet from 1 to 19 days of age and, then, their respective experimental diets in mash form from 20 to 23 days of age. Broilers fed SBM had higher CIAD of organic matter, CP, arginine, leucine, methionine and valine (P<0.05) and tended to have higher CIAD of threonine (P<0.10) than broilers fed FFSB. In addition, broilers fed SBM had higher CITD of CP (P<0.05), leucine, methionine and valine (P<0.01) than broilers fed FFSB. Particle size did not affect the ileal digestibility of CP or of any of the essential amino acids. It is concluded that broilers fed soya bean meal had higher ileal digestibility of amino acids than broilers fed full-fat soya bean and that fine grinding of the soya products did not affect amino acid digestibility.  相似文献

The objective of the study was to determine the coefficients of ileal apparent digestibility (CIAD) of sorghum protein and amino acids (AA) in weaned piglets and growing pigs. Digestibility coefficients were estimated using the regression and difference methods for the weaned piglets; and the direct and difference methods for the growing pigs. To test the hypothesis that CP and AA digestibility of sorghum is lower in weaned piglets than in growing pigs, two experiments were conducted. In experiment one, 20 weaned piglets were fitted with a 'T' cannula at 21 days of age and were fed for 2 weeks one of five dietary treatments: a reference or control diet providing 200 g of CP/kg from casein (C) as the sole protein source, and four casein-sorghum (C-S) diets kept isoproteic to C by the appropriate adjustment of C and maize starch proportions; the amount of sorghum (S) in these diets was 135, 307, 460 and 614 g/kg. In experiment 2, fifteen castrated pigs weighing 57.8 ± 2.8 kg were used and randomly allotted to one of three dietary treatments: a reference casein-maize starch diet containing C as the sole protein source, a C-S diet, both diets containing 160 g of CP/kg, and a fortified S diet containing 68 g of CP/kg. In piglets the CIAD for CP and AA decreased linearly (P < 0.05) as the amount of S in the diet increased. The average ileal digestibility of AA from C was 0.858 ± 0.111, and decreased to 0.663 ± 0.191 at the higher S level. The CIAD estimated using the regression or difference methods were similar for leucine, cysteine, glutamic acid, serine, alanine and tyrosine, and different for the other AA. In growing pigs the CIAD of protein and AA (except alanine and cysteine) were similar (P > 0.05) for the C and the C-S diets, but higher (P < 0.05) than those for the S diet. The CIAD for S obtained by the difference method were higher (P < 0.05) than those obtained using the direct method, except for lysine, isoleucine, valine, methionine, threonine and cysteine. The results indicate that except for lysine and cysteine, growing pigs' ability to digest AA and protein is superior than weaned piglets.  相似文献

The goal of this research was to study the effect of the substitution of wheat starch by potato starch (PS) on the performance, health and digestion of growing rabbits. Three experimental diets were formulated with 0%, 7% and 14% PS (PS0, PS7 and PS14, respectively) and similar starch contents (22% dry matter basis), proteins and fibre. The three diets were administered to three groups of 48 rabbits from weaning (28 days) to slaughter (70 days), and growth and health measurements were made. Another 10 rabbits per diet (30 rabbits at each age), reared under similar conditions, were slaughtered at 6 to 10 weeks of age, and the digesta were collected to analyse the caecal microbial activity (pH, volatile fatty acids (VFA) levels, fibrolytic activity) and the starch concentration in the ileal digesta. At the same ages, the whole tract digestibility coefficients were measured in 10 other rabbits for each treatment (30 rabbits). The feed intake between 28 and 42 days of age (days) increased by 11% (P < 0.05) in PS0 v. PS14. Over the whole growth period (28 to 70 days), weight gain was similar among diets (40.5 g/day), whereas the feed intake and feed conversion increased (8.5% and 5.2%, respectively; P < 0.05) with the PS14 diet. Mortality and morbidity were not affected by the diets. The starch concentration of the ileal contents increased (P < 0.01) with the addition of PS to the diet (0.39%, 0.77% and 1.08% for diets PS0, PS7 and PS14, respectively). Starch digestibility was 0.8 percentage units higher (99.8% v. 99.0%) with the PS0 diet than the PS14 diet (P = 0.04). The bacterial cellulolytic activity in the caecum tended to be higher with the PS14 diet (P = 0.07). The total VFA caecal concentration increased (P < 0.01) only in 6-week-old rabbits with PS7 compared with PS0 (54.7 v. 74.5 mmol/l). Protein digestibility and ileal starch concentration decreased (P < 0.05) with age (6 v. 10 weeks), and hemicelluloses digestibility increased (P < 0.05). At 10 weeks of age, rabbits showed a higher VFA pool (6.25 mol) and proportion of butyrate (15.9%) and a lower proportion of acetate (79.3%), ammonia level (7.5 mmol/l) and C3/C4 ratio (0.31) than at 6 weeks of age. The intake of potato starch had no effect on the performance, caecal microbial activity or digestive health of growing rabbits.  相似文献

Two experiments in a 2 x 2 factorial arrangement were conducted to evaluate the effect of crude protein (CP) (130 vs. 200 g/kg) and phosphorus (P) (4.0 vs. 6.0 g total P/kg) level in a phytase supplemented diet (500 FTU [phytase units]/kg) in grower-finisher pigs. Owing to the design of the experiment, as dietary P level increased, there was also an increase in dietary calcium (Ca) level in order to maintain a dietary Ca to P ratio of 1.6:1. In Experiment 1, four diets were fed to 56 pigs (n = 14, initial body weight [BW] 36.7 +/- 4.2 kg) to investigate the interaction between CP and P on growth performance, bone mineralisation and digesta pH. Experiment 2 consisted of 16 entire male pigs (n = 4; offered identical diets to that offered in Experiment 1) for the determination of total tract apparent digestibility and nitrogen (N), P and Ca utilisation. There was an interaction between CP and P level on bone ash, bone P and bone Ca concentrations (p < 0.05). Pigs offered low CP-low P diets had a higher bone ash, P and Ca concentrations than pigs offered high CP-low P diets. However, there was no effect of CP level at high P levels on bone ash, P and Ca concentrations. Pigs offered low P diets had a lower ileal pH compared with pigs offered high P diets (p < 0.05). In conclusion, offering pigs a high CP-low P, phytase-supplemented diet resulted in a decrease in bone mineralisation.  相似文献
