Many studies have demonstrated the changes in the spatial patterns of plant and animal communities with respect to habitat fragmentation.Insular communities tend to exhibit some special patterns in connection with the characteristics of island habitats.In this paper,the relationships between richness,assemblage,and abundance of bird communities with respect to island features were analyzed in 20 urban woodlots in Hangzhou,China.Field investigations of bird communities,using the line transect method,were conducted from January to December,1997.Each woodlot was surveyed 16 times during the year.Results indicated that bird richness was higher,per unit area,in the smaller woodlots than the larger ones,and overall bird density decreased with the increase in the size of woodlot.However,the evenness of species abundance increased with the area,and small woodlots were usually dominated by higher density species and large woodlots by medium density species.Most species occurring in the small woodlots also occurred in larger woodlots.Also,bird communities among urban woodlots showed a nestedness pattern in assemblage.These patterns implied that the main impacts of woodland habitat fragmentation are:(1) species are constricted and thus species number will increase at a given sample size;(2) as surface area decreases,the proportion of forest edge species as to interior species will increase;(3)community abundance will therefore increase per unit area but most individuals will be from a few dominant species;and (4) overall species diversity will decrease at a habitat level as well as at a region level.These patterns of community in response to the island features were therefore summarized as "island effects in community".The underlying processes of such observations were also examined in this paper.Woodlot area,edge ratio,isolation,and habitat nestedness were considered as the important factors forming the island effects in community.High heterogeneity between habitats usually contributed most to the maintenance of regional biodiversity,especially in urban woodlots.  相似文献

岛屿群落由于受岛屿栖息地特征结构的影响而产生一系列特殊的格局。通过对杭州市园林鸟类群落的研究,分析了园林鸟类群落的物种数、组成和多度与园林岛屿性状的关系,从而确定了园林鸟类群落存在如下与园林的岛屿性状有关的格局:(1)在物种数方面,在相同的取样面积下,园林的物种数随园林面积的增大而减少;(2 )在群落组成上,园林鸟类群落呈现出不完全的嵌套格局,分布于物种数较少的园林中的物种多数也分布在物种数较多的园林中;(3)在物种多度方面,园林鸟类的总密度随面积的增大而减少,园林鸟类多度的均匀度随着面积的增大而提高。群落的岛屿性格局反映了栖息地的岛屿化对群落的影响,总称之为群落的岛屿效应。通过比较全年、繁殖季节、越冬季节和迁徙季节群落岛屿性格局的显著性,分析群落的稳定性与群落岛屿效应之间的关系,认为两者之间没有必然的联系,相对非稳定的群落也可导致显著岛屿效应  相似文献

城市水体对热岛的缓冲性能沿河岸距离的变化规律   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
城市水体包括城区内的自然水体和人工水体两大类。作为城市生态系统的重要组成部分,水体在缓解城市热岛效应(Urban Heat Island, UHI)上具有重要作用。研究城市热岛效应的现状,探讨水体对城市热岛的缓冲效应,为改善城市热岛效应和生态环境,并对城市进行合理的改造和规划提供理论依据。以长沙市中心城区为研究区域,以南北向贯穿长沙市的湘江河道作为主要研究对象,基于长沙市2016年7月Landsat 8 TIRS遥感影像采用大气校正法反演地表温度(Land Surface Temperature, LST),利用监督分类法获取其同步的城市化进程和土地利用类型,分析市区内地表温度及热岛效应的空间分布特征。同时,通过在湘江两侧建立多个尺度的缓冲区,并将其与地表温度分布及土地利用类型叠置,分析湘江为主的水体对长沙市热环境及各缓冲区的缓冲效应,结果表明:(1)长沙市城市建设格局与热岛效应空间分布基本相似,建筑用地热岛效应更高,极端地表温度达到53.8℃;水体、绿地和裸地的热岛效应相对较低,最低地表温度为16.0℃;(2)湘江对长沙市热岛效应具有缓冲作用,对长沙市热岛效应的平均缓冲距离为400 m;(3)湘江对热岛效应的缓冲能力与水体周边土地利用类型有关,对河东区的缓冲作用小于河西区,对沿江休闲区的缓冲效应大于沿江住宅区。综上所述,长沙市热岛效应强度与用地类型相关,建筑用地热岛效应严重;水体对热岛的缓冲效应显著,但不同缓冲区内缓冲距离存在差异,因此对城市生态格局进行小规模改造可增强水体缓冲作用,缓解城市热岛效应。  相似文献

温州沿海小型海岛植物丰富度和β多样性及其影响因子   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
于2012-2015年调查了温州沿海20个小型无居民海岛的植物组成,共记录到维管束植物366种,隶属于95科244属,其中草本植物226种木本植物140种。拟合了5个种-面积关系模型,采用赤池信息量AIC对模型进行选择,发现种-面积-生境类型关系模型SAH_nR权重系数最大,为40.26%,两种断点回归种-面积关系模型BR-SAR权重系数分别仅为6.94%和0.43%,表明基于这20个海岛拟合的种-面积关系不存在小岛屿效应。岛屿植物物种丰富度主要受面积A影响,离大陆距离,I_m对丰富度无显著作用;偏相关分析表明除A外,周长/面积比PAR和岛屿生境多样性指数H_d显著影响了植物丰富度,其逐步回归方程分别为:植物总丰富度S=76.714+1.696A-0.046PAR,R~2=0.839;木本植物丰富度S_(-woody)=6.525+0.455A+24.544H_d,R~2=0.697;草本植物丰富度S_(-herbaceous)=66.899+1.285A-0.04PAR-23.434H_d,R~2=0.865。偏最小二乘回归PLS分析中岛屿空间特征参数对岛屿物种相似性指数重要性排序为:I_m(0.61)I_i(0.56)PAR(0.49)A(0.20)岸线长度Per(0.14)生境类型H(0.072)岛屿高程E(0.065)岛屿形状指数SI(0.05)。由此可见,近岸的小型海岛植物丰富度并不总是由岛屿面积来决定;隔离度对岛屿植物β多样性影响较大。  相似文献

郑州市热岛效应研究与人体舒适度评价   总被引:7,自引:0,他引:7  
采用网格式布点法设置观测点,监测导致郑州市热岛效应的关键因子,揭示了郑州市热岛效应的日变化、季节变化与空间分布状况,并对不同类型的绿化区域进行了人体舒适度评价.结果表明,郑州市热岛效应的日变化大体上呈单峰型;不同季节的热岛效应强度相差很大,热岛强度的强弱顺序为:冬季>春季>秋季>夏季;热岛中心的空间分布与其附近有无工业热源密切相关.就人体舒适度而言,以乔木绿化为主的人民公园的舒适度最好;而以草坪绿化为主的西流湖公园,其改善小气候的能力较乔木为差;火车站广场由于其空间开阔,空气流动性强,故最舒适的频率也有16%.  相似文献

在气候变化和快速城市化的双重影响下,全球城市面临日益加剧的热岛效应。绿地能够有效改善城市热环境。城市土地资源紧缺,优化绿地布局,使有限面积的绿地发挥更大的降温效果具有重要的理论意义和实践价值。其中,如何设置绿地斑块大小则是优化绿地布局的首要考虑因素之一。从斑块和景观的尺度总结了现有绿地斑块大小对其降温效应影响的研究进展,结果表明:1)在斑块尺度,随着绿地斑块面积增加,绿地的降温效应相应增加,但增加的趋势为非线性变化,表现为温度随绿地斑块面积的增加先下降,后趋于平稳,表明可能存在降温效率(单位面积绿地降温能力)最强的斑块大小;2)在景观尺度,绿地斑块大小在空间上的配置对热环境的影响研究结果存在差异,尚无一致性定论。基于已有研究,本文指出了现有绿地斑块大小对其降温效应影响研究中的问题与不足:1)主要关注绿地斑块大小与温度的统计关系,缺乏对其具体影响过程和内在机制的深入探讨;2)更多关注地表温度,而对与人体舒适度和健康直接相关的其他热环境指标的研究较少;3)研究中缺少对城市中数量巨大,分布最广的小型绿地斑块的考量。未来的研究应加强从遮阴和蒸腾等降温过程深入解析绿地斑块大小对热环境影响的内在机理机制,从降温效率的角度,探讨是否存在最优的斑块大小,并进一步探讨绿地周围建筑环境对绿地斑块大小与其降温效应关系的影响,为优化城市绿地分布,改善城市热环境提供科学依据。  相似文献

城市绿地作为一种稀缺资源,为城市可持续发展提供多种生态服务功能保障.探讨如何在有限的土地资源内合理配置城市绿地,使其发挥最大的生态服务功能非常重要.研究基于北京市2002年7月的QuickBird数据和Landsat 7 ETM+数据分别提取城市绿地格局和地表温度,分析城市绿地格局(绿地面积、形状指数、邻接关系)与绿地地表温度及冷岛强度的相关关系.邻接关系包括邻接绿地斑块个数百分比和邻接绿地斑块面积百分比.邻接绿地斑块面积百分比采用缓冲区分析法,主要以乔木林地对地表热环境的调节作用为例.结果表明绿地格局参数对地表温度的影响相差较大:①城区主要的绿地类型(乔木林地、水体、草地)的温度都与其面积呈显著负相关,其中水体的相关系数最高;②只有乔木林地、水体的温度与其形状指数呈显著负相关,而灌木林地的温度与各个格局参数不相关;③乔木林地的缓冲区分析显示温度与其大小、形状、邻接绿地面积百分比关系都呈负相关,其中与邻接绿地面积百分比的相关关系最强,其冷岛强度也主要受邻接绿地面积百分比的影响.基于遥感识别的城市绿地微气候调节功能研究,有助于提高有限的城市绿地的生态服务功能,并可为城市绿地的规划管理和景观分析提供依据.  相似文献

成都市晴天热岛效应的时空分布特征与成因   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
基于一种新的郊区温度自动提取方法——圈层温度跃变法、以及2005-2010年99幅Terra卫星遥感资料,分析了2005-2010年成都市热岛效应的时空变化特征,并初步分析了其变化成因.结果表明:研究期间,成都市面积最大、强度最强的热岛强中心区位于城区西南面的金花镇片区;热岛效应在空间上未发生明显改变,但范围在缩小、强度在变弱;年内的各环路热岛强度和面积均呈三峰型分布,峰值分别出现在4、7、10月,其中,7月的热岛强度峰值最大.成都市热岛强度的减弱是气温下降、降水增多和城区植被覆盖度提高共同作用的结果.  相似文献

近年来随着全球大都市的快速发展,热岛效应成为城市环境的严峻问题.人类活动日益增加的排热会显著改变城市热环境,从而加剧城市热岛效应的恶化.不同气候区、不同尺度的人为热排放特征不同,因此,其时空变化使人为热的计算变得复杂和不确定.本文通过对国内外人为热的不同计算方法结合实例进行综述,总结了其时空尺度、所需的基础数据及误差来源等,最后讨论了不同方法的优缺点并提出改良方向.建议人为热研究需要首先考虑时空尺度,并据此选择合适的计算方法以保障精度.人为热的计算有助于学者更好地理解研究区的排热状况,并通过合理的城市规划改善人居热环境.  相似文献

Although species–area relationship (SAR ) is among the most extensively studied patterns in ecology, studies on aquatic and/or microbial systems are seriously underrepresented in the literature. We tested the algal SAR in lakes, pools and ponds of various sizes (10?2–108 m2) and similar hydromorphological and trophic characteristics using species‐specific data and functional groups. Besides the expectation that species richness increases monotonously with area, we found a right‐skewed hump‐shaped relationship between the area and phytoplankton species richness. Functional richness however did not show such distortion. Differences between the area dependence of species and functional richness indicate that functional redundancy is responsible for the unusual hump‐backed SAR . We demonstrated that the Small Island Effect, which is a characteristic for macroscopic SAR s can also be observed for the phytoplankton. Our results imply a so‐called large lake effect, which means that in case of large lakes, wind‐induced mixing acts strongly against the habitat diversity and development of phytoplankton patchiness and finally results in lower phytoplankton species richness in the pelagial. High functional redundancy of the groups that prefer small‐scale heterogeneity of the habitats is responsible for the unusual humpback relationship. The results lead us to conclude that although the mechanisms that regulate the richness of both microbial communities and communities of macroscopic organisms are similar, their importance can be different in micro‐ and macroscales.  相似文献

Aim We used insular lizard communities to test the predictions of two hypotheses that attempt to explain patterns of species richness on small islands. We first address the subsidized island biogeography (SIB) hypothesis, which predicts that spatial subsidies may cause insular species richness to deviate from species–area predictions, especially on small islands. Next, we examine the small island effect (SIE), which suggests small islands may not fit the traditional log‐linear species–area curve. Location Islands with arthropodivorous lizard communities throughout the Gulf of California. Methods To evaluate the SIB hypothesis, we first identified subsidized and unsubsidized islands based on surrogate measures of allochthonous productivity (i.e. island size and bird presence). Subsequently, we created species–area curves from previously published lizard species richness and island area data. We used the residuals and slopes from these analyses to compare species richness on subsidized and unsubsidized islands. To test for an SIE, we used breakpoint regression to model the relationship between lizard species richness and island area. We compared results from this model to results from the log‐linear regression model. Results Subsidized islands had a lower slope than unsubsidized islands, and the difference between these groups was significant when small islands were defined as < 1 km2. In addition to comparing slopes, we tested for differences in the magnitude of the residuals (from the species–area regression of all islands) for subsidized vs. unsubsidized islands. We found no significant patterns in the residual values for small vs. large islands, or between islands with and without seabirds. The SIE was found to be a slightly better predictor of lizard species richness than the traditional log‐linear model. Main conclusions Predictions of the SIB hypothesis were partially supported by the data. The absence of a significant SIE may be a result of spatial subsidies as explained by the SIB hypothesis and data presented here. We conclude by suggesting potential scenarios to test for interactions between these two small island hypotheses. Future studies considering factors affecting species richness should examine the possible role of spatial subsidies, an SIE, or a synergistic effect of the two in data sets with small islands.  相似文献

Abstract The pollination and breeding systems of Campanula punctata both in the Izu Islands and the mainland (Honshu) adjacent to the islands were investigated. The predominant pollinators of campanulas are: 1) Bombus diversus in Honshu, 2) Bombus ardens and halictid bees on Oshima Island, and 3) halictid bees on the islands of Niijima, Kodzushma, and Hachijo. The absence of bumble bees except B. ardens on Oshima Island, and the abundance of halictid bees represent a kind of island effect. Flowers of the campanula in the Islands were found to be smaller than those of the mainland. This might have resulted from adaptation to the small pollinators. Pollination experiments with plants grown from seeds revealed the following differences in breeding system: 1) most of the campanulas from Honshu were highly self-incompatible (SI) and a few partially self-compatible (SC), 2) one half of the plants from Oshima Island were more or less SC and the remaining highly SI, 3) those from Hachijo Island were SC and potentially autogamous. The breakdown of dichogamy co-operated with self-compatibility in the development of self-fertilizing ability in Hachijo plants. Several possible causes for the change in the breeding system including the change in pollinators in the Islands are discussed.  相似文献

Aim To investigate the importance of various island characteristics in determining spatial patterns of variations in beta diversity for various animal groups. Location Analyses are presented for 10 animal groups living on the Aeolian Islands, a volcanic archipelago in the central Mediterranean, near Sicily. Methods Three hypotheses were formulated to explain patterns of beta diversity: the target‐area–distance effect, stepping stone dispersal and island age. Matrices of inter‐island dissimilarities were constructed under each hypothesis and correlated with matrices of faunal dissimilarities using Mantel tests. For the ‘target‐area–distance effect’ hypothesis, inter‐island dissimilarities were calculated using island sizes and distances to nearest mainland areas. For the ‘stepping stone dispersal’ hypothesis, inter‐island distances were measured. Finally, for the ‘island age’ hypothesis, inter‐island dissimilarities were calculated on the basis of the geological age of the islands. Cluster analysis was used to investigate inter‐island faunal relationships. Results Support for a target‐area–distance effect was found only for birds. For these highly mobile animals, inter‐island distances had no significant effects on beta diversity. Birds are known to colonize islands by crossing large sea barriers and thus they can easily reach the Aeolian Islands, which are close to source areas (notably Sicily). Inter‐island distances had a significant role in determining patterns of beta diversity in most invertebrates. For Mollusca, Opiliones, Chilopoda, Heteroptera, coprophagous Scarabaeoidea, and Tenebrionidae, even relatively short distances preclude invertebrates from colonizing an island regularly from the mainland, and most colonization probably results from inter‐island faunal exchanges. Island age was proved to be important only for orthopterans. Main conclusions The origin of most of the Aeolian invertebrate fauna is quite recent, and species appear to have established on the islands predominantly by stepping stone dispersal. Birds, which are highly mobile organisms, follow more direct mainland–island dynamics. As further studies on other islands become available, comparative analyses will confirm whether the factors influencing variations in beta diversity in this study and their relationships with species dispersal ability are consistent across scales and geographical context.  相似文献

以赣西三市为研究区域, 采用2002、2016年2个时段的TM/OLI/TIRS影像数据, 获得辐射亮度温度和土地利用/覆被分类数据, 借此分析热环境时空演变特征、热力景观格局指数变化以及影响热环境演变的因素, 旨在为改善赣西城市热环境问题提供科学的依据。结果表明: 随着城市化发展, 近15年(2002—2016年)来, 赣西三市热岛效应明显增强, 但不同区域发展程度有所不同, 热岛效应强度总体增加的趋势为: 萍乡 > 宜春 > 新余; 从热环境分布来看, 三市南部地区低温与次低温面积范围相对较多, 且呈现扩大趋势; 从热环境景观格局演变来看, 三市的中温区斑块优势度降低明显, 破碎化程度加强, 宜春和新余市区次低温与次高温斑块优势增多并且有形成大斑块的趋势; 从热环境贡献指数来看, 建设用地对热环境贡献最大, 水体和林地则对城市热岛效应有显著的抑制作用。  相似文献

Aim To propose a new approach to the small island effect (SIE) and a simple mathematical procedure for the estimation of its upper limit. The main feature of the SIE is that below an upper size threshold an increase of species number with increase of area in small islands is not observed. Location Species richness patterns from different taxa and insular systems are analysed. Methods Sixteen different data sets from 12 studies are analysed. Path analysis was used for the estimation of the upper limit of the SIE. We studied each data set in order to detect whether there was a certain island size under which the direct effects of area were eliminated. This detection was carried out through the sequential exclusion of islands from the largest to the smallest. For the cases where an SIE was detected, a log‐log plot of species number against area is presented. The relationships between habitat diversity, species number and area are studied within the limits of the SIE. In previous studies only area was used for the detection of the SIE, whereas we also encompass habitat diversity, a parameter with well documented influence on species richness, especially at small scales. Results An SIE was detected in six out of the 16 studied cases. The upper limit of the SIE varies, depending on the characteristics of the taxon and the archipelago under study. In general, the values of the upper limit of the SIE calculated according to the approach undertaken in our study differ from the values calculated in previous studies. Main conclusions Although the classical species–area models have been used to estimate the upper limit of the SIE, we propose that the detection of this phenomenon should be undertaken independently from the species–area relationship, so that the net effects of area are calculated excluding the surrogate action of area on other variables, such as environmental heterogeneity. The SIE appears when and where area ceases to influence species richness directly. There are two distinct SIE patterns: (1) the classical SIE where both the direct and indirect effects of area are eliminated and (2) the cryptic SIE where area affects species richness indirectly. Our approach offers the opportunity of studying the different factors influencing biodiversity on small scales more accurately. The SIE cannot be considered a general pattern with fixed behaviour that can be described by the same model for different island groups and taxa. The SIE should be recognized as a genuine but idiosyncratic phenomenon.  相似文献

To infer the evolutionary mechanism of phenotypic variation among isolated island populations, we investigated coat colour and genetic variation in the large Japanese field mouse (Apodemus speciosus) on the Izu Islands (Ohshima, Niijima, Kouzushima, and Miyakejima). Coat colour in the most remote population (Miyakejima) was unique and significantly darker than that in the other populations. Ohshima that is closest to the source population showed variation in coat colour within its population. Phylogeographical analyses using mitochondrial and microsatellite markers suggested that the island populations (except Kouzushima) were founded sequentially from the closest Ohshima to remote Niijima and Miyakejima during or before the penultimate interglacial period. Secondary gene flow from the source population was rare and occurred only for the closest (Ohshima) population. In addition, we found that an amino acid mutation in the Agouti signalling protein gene (Asip) was associated with coat colour variation among the island populations. The mutation was rare in the source population but completely fixed in the Miyakejima population. The phenotypic and genetic variation suggested that severe reduction of genetic variation and changes in allele frequency as a result of sequential colonization (i.e. the founder effect) had significant effects on colour polymorphism. The findings of the present study suggest that the founder effect, in addition to natural selection, facilitated the morphological changes below the species level over a relatively long time scale. © 2014 The Linnean Society of London, Biological Journal of the Linnean Society, 2014, 113 , 522–535.  相似文献

Rapid evolution has been well documented in naturally selected traits, but few examples exist for sexually selected traits, particularly sexual signals. This may in part be due to the complex set of behaviors associated with sexual signals. For a sexual signal to change, the change must be favorable for the signaler, but must also be accommodated by the receiver's perception and preferences. We investigated female accommodation of an extreme change in the sexual signal of Polynesian field crickets, Teleogryllus oceanicus . The cricket is native to Australia, widely distributed on Pacific Islands, and was recently introduced to Hawaii. Selective pressure by a deadly parasitoid fly favored a wing mutation in Hawaii (flatwing) that eliminates males' singing ability altogether. Despite conventional wisdom that females require males to produce a courtship song before mating, we show that females from ancestral, unparasitized Australian and Pacific Island populations as well as parasitized Hawaiian populations, will mate with silent flatwing males, suggesting this behavioral option predates the change in sexual signal. Furthermore, ancestral Australian females discriminate against flatwing males more severely than island females. We suggest island colonization favored females with relaxed mating requirements (Kaneshiro's effect) facilitating the rapid evolutionary loss of song in Hawaii.  相似文献
