Nicascolaimus punctatus gen. et sp.n. (Axonolaimidae) from an Australian beach links the families Axonolaimidae and Comesomatidae, mainly by the combination of a long conical stoma, loop-shaped amphids and a punctate cuticle with ring pores. The anterior and posterior testes and the respective spermatozoa are very different in structure. The occurrence of sperm dimorphism in aquatic nematodes is reviewed, and new observations on Axonolaimus helgolandicus Lorenzen, 1972 and Microlaimus aff. paraborealis Allgén, 1940 are communicated. Particular reference is made to the peculiar spermatogenesis in Rhabdodemania species (Enoplida), resulting in three different structural types filling the vesicula seminalis.  相似文献

The Australian Thrasorinae are revised and Mikeius is transferred to Mikeiinae Paretas-Martínez & Pujade-Villar, subfam. n., and Mikeius clavatus Pujade-Villar & Restrepo-Ortiz, sp. n., is described. Two new genera of Thrasorinae are erected: Cicatrix Paretas-Martínez, gen. n., including Cicatrix pilosiscutum(Girault), comb. n. from Amblynotus, Cicatrix schauffi (Buffington), comb. n. from Mikeius, and Cicatrix neumannoides Paretas-Martínez & Restrepo-Ortiz, sp. n.; and Palmiriella Pujade-Villar & Paretas-Martínez, gen. n., including Palmiriella neumanni (Buffington), comb. n. from Mikeius, Thrasorus rieki Paretas-Martínez & Pujade-Villar, sp. n., is also described. A phylogenetic analysis of 176 morphological and biological characters, including all these new taxa and all genera previously included in Thrasorinae, was conducted. All subfamilies were recovered as monophyletic, with the following relationships: Parnipinae (Euceroptrinae (Mikeiinae (Plectocynipinae (Thrasorinae)))). A worldwide key to the subfamilies of Figitidae is provided that includes the new subfamily, as well as a key to genera Thrasorinae.  相似文献

Abstract. Analysis of thirty-four macrosteline and twenty-eight non-macrosteline leafhopper genera (Homoptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) suggests that the ability to transmit plant viruses has arisen on at least three separate occasions within the Macrostelini. The tribe, including the Coryphaelini syn.n. and Balcluthini, is shown to be monophyletic. A revised diagnosis of the Macrostelini is presented, together with a key to genera. Five new genera and eight new species are described: Aderganna gen.n. , Cicadabara gen.n. Kadrabolina gen.n. , Masafuera gen.n. and Scaphosteles gen.n. , Yamatotettix remanei sp.n. , Masafuera oceanica sp.n. , Aderganna aethiopica sp.n. , A.nigra sp.n. , Scaphosteles nukahiva sp.n. , Kadrabolina elongata sp.n. , K.sinuata sp.n. and K.bispinosa sp.n. Four new combinations and five new synonymies are established: Cicadabara dorsalis (Osborn) comb.n. , C.minuta (Osborn) comb.n. , C.tintorella (Osborn) comb.n. , Balclutha thea (Distant) comb.n. , B.smaragdula Matsumura as a junior synonym of B.thea (Distant) syn.n. , B.modesta Ahmed, Murtaza & Malik as a junior synonym of B.incisa (Matsumura) syn.n. , B.karachiensis Ahmed, Murtaza & Malik as a junior synonym of B.rubrostriata (Melichar) syn.n. , B.versicoloroides Ghauri as a junior synonym of B.sternalis (Distant) syn.n. and B.knighti Rao & Ramakrishnan as a junior synonym of B.sujawalensis Ahmed syn.n.  相似文献

Three species of Trifoliovarium are described from marine fishes from Moreton Bay, Queensland: T. triacanthi (Parukhin, 1964) n. comb. (syns Hysterolecitha triacanthi Parukhin, 1964; T. triacanthi Bilqees, 1973; T. triacanthusi Gupta & Ahmad, 1976) from Tripodichthys angustifrons; T. ovarilobulus (Wang, 1989) n. comb. (syn. Hysterolecithia [sic] ovarilobuls) from Paramonacanthus japonicus and Pelates quadrilineatus: and T. draconis n. sp. from Callionymus sublaevis and C. belcheri. A list of the species of the subfamily Trifoliovariinae is given along with a key. A cladistic study of the subfamily based on 23 characters is presented, the results of which indicate the monophyly of the genus Assitrema and the paraphyly of Trifoliovarium.  相似文献

A detailed examination (including scanning electron microscopy) of newly collected nematode specimens (subgravid females) referable to Philometroides caudatus Moravec, Scholz and Vivas-Rodríguez, 1995, from the swimbladder of the pimelodid catfish, Rhamdia guatemalensis, in the Papaloapan River in Tlacotalpan, State of Veracruz, Mexico, as well as the paratype specimens of this species, revealed the presence of a small buccal capsule armed with peribuccal teeth in the female. Because of this unique morphological feature within the Philometridae, and considering other taxonomically important characters such as the structure of the male tail and the shape of the anterior end of the esophagus in the gravid female, Neophilometroidinae n. subfam, and Neophilometroides n. gen. are proposed to accommodate this species. Philometra paraguayensis Petter, 1995, is transferred to Neophilometroides as N. paraguayensis (Petter, 1995) n. comb. Newly collected specimens are briefly described and illustrated.  相似文献

The genus Antillothrips Stannard ( Elatea Faure, syn.n.) is redefined with a key to the ten species: australis sp.n.; exastis (Ananthakrishnan & Kudo) stat.n. comb.n.; cingulatus (Hood) (= Haplothrips (Hindsiana) sakimurai Moulton syn.n.; Xenothrips opacus Ananthakrishnan & Kudo syn.n.); graminellus Ananthakrishnan & Jagadish; hartwigi sp.n.; malabaricus (Ananthakrishnan); micropterus Pitkin; nayari (Ananthakrishnan); stannmdi (Faure) comb.n.; varius (Ananthakrishnan & Jagadish). A new genus of cynipid oak gallwasp, Zapatella Pujade-Villar & Melika, gen. n. (Hymenoptera: Cynipidae: Cynipini), with two new species, Zapatella grahami Pujade-Villar & Melika, sp. n. and Zapatella nievesaldreyi Melika & Pujade-Villar, sp. n., is described from the Neotropics. Zapatella grahami,known only from the sexual generation,induces galls in acorns of Quercus costaricensis and is currently known only from Costa Rica. Zapatella nievesaldreyi, known only from the asexual generation, induces inconspicuous galls in twigs of Quercus humboldtii, and is known only from Colombia. Diagnostic characters for both new species are given in detail. Five Nearctic species are transferred from Callirhytis to Zapatella: Zapatella cryptica (Weld), comb. n., Zapatella herberti (Weld), comb. n., Zapatella oblata (Weld), comb. n., Zapatella quercusmedullae (Ashmead), comb. n.,Zapatella quercusphellos (Osten Sacken), comb. n. (= Zapatella quercussimilis (Bassett), syn. n.). A key based on adults for the species belonging to Zapatella is also given. Generic limits and morphological characteristics of Zapatella and closely related genera are discussed.  相似文献

A hypothesis of monophyly for the aphid genus Sitobion is tested using cladistics. A diverse sample of thirty Sitobion species from Africa, Asia, Europe and North America were included, along with six species of Macrosiphum , eight new species similar to some Sitobion , one species of Illinoia , and Dysaphis tulipae (Boyer de Fonscolombe) as outgroup . A matrix of forty-seven taxa and forty-eight characters was analysed in paup , resulting in a set of thirty-nine equally parsimonious cladograms. Despite a high degree of homoplasy in the data, the results show that Sitobion is not a monophyletic group. The endemic North American species, along with two pteridophyte-feeding species from Europe, clearly belong to a separate lineage from the other Eurasian and African species. The endemic North American species are more closely related to the type species of Macrosiphum and Illinoia than to Sitobion avenae (Fabr.), the type species of Sitobion . Two species are placed as junior synonyms of Sitobion alopecuri (Takahashi): Macrosiphum (Sitobion) salicicornii Richards, syn.n. and Sitobion sylvestri Hille Ris Lambers; syn.n. Twelve species previously listed in Sitobion are placed in Macrosiphum with six new combinations: Macrosiphum adianti (Oestlund); Macrosiphum clydesmithi Robinson, comb.n.; Macrosiphum cystopteris Robinson; Macrosiphum dryopteridis (Holman), comb.n.; Macrosiphum equiseti (Holman), comb.n.; Macrosiphum insularis (Pergande); Macrosiphum lambi Robinson, comb.n.; Macrosiphum ptericolens Patch; Macrosiphum pteridis Wilson, Macrosiphum rhamni (Clarke); Macrosiphum walkeri Robinson, comb.n.; Macrosiphum woodsiae Robinson, comb.n. Two synonyms are reinstated as valid species: Macrosiphum occidentalis (Essig) and Macrosiphum pteridis Wilson.  相似文献

Following the revision and integration of the family PseudobigaleaidaeHoare, Mapes &; Yancey into the existing systematic concept of the rostroconch order Conocardiida the original family of hood-carrying rostroconchs, the HippocardiidaePojeta &; Runnegar, is revised and subdivided in this contribution. Here, we present the members of the subfamily HippocardiinaePojeta &; Runnegar [n. subfam.]. Its erection appeared necessary first, as the family Hippocardiidae had been used for decades as a conglomeration taxon where most varied morphotypes were assigned to the type genusHippocardia, whose character combinations only just now can be distinguished, and secondly because the number of hood-carrying hippocardiid rostroconch taxa increased markedly during our studies. Ten taxa at the species level are assigned to the generaHippocardia Brown, 1843,Bieberiana n. gen.,Cartericardia n. gen.,Fraipontia n. gen.,Hoareicardia n. gen. andPojetorum n. gen. All the taxa are precisely diagnosed and described at the subfamily, genus and species level by a uniform, revised and completed terminology of morphologic characters. This allows comparability of the taxa and aids in the reconstruction of phylogenetic relationships in the Hippocardiinae [n. subfam.], whose members occur from the Late Silurian until the Mississippian.  相似文献

The monophyly and phylogenetic relationships of the subfamily Microweiseinae were investigated. Twenty‐three in‐group taxa, representing all known genera of Microweiseinae (except for Microcapillata Gordon) were included in a cladistic analysis, based on 45 adult morphological characters. The parsimony analysis of the resulting data matrix supported the monophyly of Microweiseinae, Carinodulini, Serangiini and Microweiseini (inclusive of Sukunahikonini). The recognition of Sukunahikonini renders Microweiseini paraphyletic, and consequently both tribes were synonymized, retaining Microweiseini as a senior family‐group name ( syn.n. ). Genera and tribes of Microweiseinae are diagnosed thoroughly, illustrated and keys to their identification are provided. The following nomenclatural changes were made: Hikonasukuna Sasaji and Orculus Sicard are synonymized with Scymnomorphus Weise ( syn.n. ); Gnathoweisea Gordon is synonymized with Microweisea Cockerell ( syn.n. ); Hikonasukuna monticola Sasaji and Orculus castaneus Sicard are transferred to Scymnomorphus ( comb.n. ); Smilia planiceps Casey, Gnathoweisea hageni Gordon, Gnathoweisea ferox Gordon, Gnathoweisea micula Gordon and Gnathoweisea texana Gordon are transferred to Microweisea ( comb.n ). Three new genera are described: Allenius gen.n. for Allenius californianus sp.n. (type species) from Mexico and Allenius iviei sp.n. from U.S.A.; Gordoneus gen.n. (type species Gnathoweisea schwarzi Gordon from U.S.A.); and Cathedrana gen.n. (type species Cathedrana natalensis sp.n. from South Africa). The first African member of Carinodulini, Carinodulina ruwenzorii sp.n. is described. The genera Microweisea, Coccidophilus, Serangium and Delphastus are well‐known predators of sternorrynchous Hemiptera, such as scale insects (Diaspididae) and whiteflies (Aleyrodidae), and play a significant role in agricultural ecosystems as biocontrol agents. Based on morphological criteria of the male bursa, angiostrongylid nematodes often placed in the genus Angiostrongylus Kamensky (1905) were found to be heterogeneous, comprising species which are relegated to 5 distinct genera: Angiostrongylus Kamensky, 1905 (syn. Haemostrongylus Railliet and Henry, 1907); Parastrongylus Baylis, 1928 (syn. Pulmonema Chen, 1935, Rattostrongylus Schulz, 1951, Morerastrongylus Chabaud, 1972, Chabaudistrongylus Kontrimavichus and Delyamure, 1979); Angiocaulus Schulz, Orlov and Kutass, 1933; Gallegostrongylus Mas-Coma, 1977 (syn. Thaistrongylus Ohbayashi, Kamiya and Bhaibulaya, 1979 n. syn); and Stefanskostrongylus Drozdz, 1970. These genera all contain species located primarily in specific host groups: Angiostrongylus in carnivores; Parastrongylus in rodents (Muridae), Angiocaulus in mustelids; Rodentocaulus in rodents (Cricetinae), Gallegostrongylus in rodents (Muridae), and Stefanskostrongylus in insectivores. Species in each genus include: Angiostrongylus (A. vasorum, A. raillieti, A. chabaudi); Parastrongylus (P. tateronae, P. cantonensis, P. mackerrasae, P. sandarsae, P. sciuri, P. petrowi n. comb., P. dujardini, P. schmidti, P. costaricensis n. comb., P. malaysiensis n. comb., P. ryjikovi n. comb., P. siamensis n. comb.); Angiocaulus (A. gubernaculatus, A. ten n. comb., A. sp. Caballero, 1951); Rodentocaulus (R. ondatrae) and Gallegostrongylus (G. ibicensis, G. andersoni, G. harinasutai n. comb.). Angiostrongylus pulmonalis is likely similar to Stefanskostrongylus soricis and is transferred to this genus. Angiostrongylus minutus is removed to Stefanskostrongylus.  相似文献

A new genus and species of cestodes from the great-crested grebe Podiceps cristatus collected in the Eastern Europe is described. The genus Mircia gen. n. in addition to the type species M. shigini gen. n. includes the following species formerly being included in the genus Joyeuxilepis Spassky, 1947: M. decacantha (Fuhrmann, 1913) comb. n., M. decacanthoides (Borgarenko et Gulyaev, 1991) comb. n., M. fimbriata (Borgarenko, Spasskaja et Spassky, 1972), comb. n., and M. uralensis (Gulyaev, 1989) comb. n. The pterolichoid feather mites of megapodes are reviewed. Named taxa are briefly discussed and most are figured. The Pterolichidae (Pterolichinae) are: Ascetohchus Perez & Atyeo, three species; Echinozonus Atyeo & Perez, six species; Pereziella Atyeo, two species; and Phycoferus Atyeo & Perez, two species. New pterolichine taxa, with the type species listed first, include: Botryaspis cordiforma gen. et sp.n. and B. cordata gen. et sp.n.; Cycloprotarsus lineatus gen. et sp.n., C. centralis gen. et sp.n. and C. monacrotrichus gen. et sp.n.; Eurypterolichus gen.n. for Pterolichus navicula comb.n. A new taxon of the Thoracosathesidae is: Thoracosathes caudiculata sp.n. Keys are provided and host- commensal associations are discussed. All taxa are restricted to the Megapodiidae. From a sandy beach in southern Chile (Quellón Viejo, Chiloé Island) five species of the nematode family Epsilonematidae are described or redescribed: Bathyepsilonema spongiosum sp.n., Epsilonema dentaturn Lorenzen, 1973, E. serrulatum Lorenzen, 1973, Metepsilonema chilotum sp.n. and M. leptaleum Lorenzen, 1973. In the studied beach Epsilonematidae represent up to 33% of the interstitial nematodes. Epsilonema dentaturn is the most common species; in most of the samples, it represents more than 50% of all Epsilonematidae found. The epsilonematids occur mainly in a narrow zone at the midtidal level.  相似文献

The Meyliinae contains seven species, belonging to four genera: Boucherius Decraemer & Jensen, 1982, Gerlachius Andrassy, 1976, Meylia Gerlach, 1956 and Noffsingtria Decraemer & Jensen, 1982, differentiated from each other primarily by the ornamentation of the body cuticle. The Meyliinae are compared with the Desmoscolecidae ( sensu Lorenzen, 1969; Timm, 1970) and found to be unique in the position and structure of the amphids and in the reflexed branches of the female reproductive system. It is concluded that they belong to the Desmoscolecida, closely related to the Tricominae.  相似文献
