The LD50 of sulfluramid topically applied to 2-d-old, fifth instars of the German cockroach, Blattella germanica (L.), was estimated at 14.5 micrograms/g (95% FL = 13.7-15.4 micrograms/g). Sulfluramid was significantly more toxic than topically applied hydramethylnon (LD50 = 29.2 [19.0-46.5] micrograms/g). Sulfluramid had delayed toxicity but caused mortality significantly faster than hydramethylnon after topical application. The oral LD50 against newly enclosed, fifth instars was estimated to be 4.1 (3.9-4.4) micrograms/g; this toxicity was significantly greater than when sulfluramid was topically applied. Mortality caused by sulfluramid occurred significantly more slowly in the dietary exposures than in the topical applications. Sulfluramid at 1,000 ppm in diets was not a feeding deterrent to nymphal B. germanica.  相似文献

Ovicidal activity of the benzoylphenylurea noviflumuron was evaluated in the laboratory on three adult groups (virgin females, virgin males, and fertilized, nongravid females) of the German cockroach, Blattella germanica (L.), through ingestion of treated bait. Novifumuron caused significant ovicidal effects at concentrations ranging from 10 to 5000 ppm after 5-d feeding exposure to virgin and fertilized females. Untreated females produced little or no viable oothecae when mated with virgin males that had previously ingested bait (5-d exposure) with 1000 ppm or 5000 ppm noviflumuron. The highest tested concentration of noviflumuron (5000 ppm) caused 100% ovicidal activity through two ovarian cycles for all three adult groups. Noviflumuron seems to have broader ovicidal activity against B. germanica than reported for other benzoylphenylurea insecticides and can potentially impact cockroach populations through a combination of nymphal mortality and ovicidal activity.  相似文献

Continuous use of the pesticide chlorpyrifos has resulted in harmful contaminations in environment and species. Based on a chlorpyrifos-degrading fungus Cladosporium cladosporioides strain Hu-01 (collection number: CCTCC M 20711), a fungal wettable powder preparation was developed aiming to efficiently remove chlorpyrifos residues from vegetables. The formula was determined to be 11.0% of carboxymethyl cellulose-Na, 9.0% of polyethylene glycol 6000, 5.0% of primary alcohol ethoxylate, 2.5% of glycine, 5.0% of fucose, 27.5% of kaolin and 40% of freeze dried fungi by response surface methodology (RSM). The results of quality inspection indicated that the fungal preparation could reach manufacturing standards. Finally, the degradation of chlorpyrifos by this fungal preparation was determined on pre-harvest cabbage. Compared to the controls without fungal preparation, the degradation of chlorpyrifos on cabbages, which was sprayed with the fungal preparation, was up to 91% after 7 d. These results suggested this freeze-dried fungal wettable powder may possess potential for biodegradation of chlorpyrifos residues on vegetables and provide a potential strategy for food and environment safety against pesticide residues.  相似文献

Two milling methods and five surfactants were tested for their effects on the suspensibility of a wettable powder formulation of Paenibacillus polymyxa HY96-2 (P. polymyxa original powder or PPOP). Both hammer milling and jet milling significantly improved suspensibility of PPOP (from 8.1 to 26.4% and 58.3%, respectively), and did not decrease spore viability. Five surfactants (EFW®, D-425®, sodium dodecyl benzene sulfonate, tea saponin and sodium lignosulphonate) were each mixed with jet milled powder (JMP). The best results were obtained with sodium lignosulphonate and D425. These gave equal improvement in suspensibility. Sodium lignosulphonate had the best biocompatibility; spore viability values of JMP mixed with this at 1, 3, 5, or 10% (w/w) were all over 95.0%. Addition of sodium lignosulphonate to hammer milled powder (HMP) or JMP at 5% (w/w) increased suspensibility from 26.4 to 38.6% and from 58.3 to 81.1%, respectively. Our results suggest that jet milling and sodium lignosulphonate can synergistically improve the suspensibility of P. polymyxa wettable powder without adverse effects on spore viability. These findings will accelerate the commercialization of P. polymyxa wettable powder and provide a basis for the development of other biopesticides.  相似文献

Formulations of a strain of Bacillus subtilis AUBS-1 inhibitory to the growth of the damping-off pathogen, Pythium aphanidermatum, were developed for seed treatment. The formulations included a talc-based powder, lignite-based powder, lignite+fly ash-based powder, wettable powder, bentonite-paste, polyethylene glycol (PEG) paste and a water-dispersible tablet. Formulations were stored at room temperature for 2 years and frequently sampled to test their shelf life. Populations of bacteria in the formulations were stable for up to 2 years storage at room temperature (28°C). Viability of propagules in lignite, lignite+fly ash, bentonite paste, wettable powder and water dispersible tablet formulations was 100% for up to 1 year. However, the viability of propagules was significantly reduced in talc, wettable powder, PEG paste and tablet formulations beyond 1 year of storage. Seed treatment of tomato with these formulations resulted in effective control of damping-off caused by P. aphanidermatum, and also enhanced plant biomass under glasshouse and field conditions. Active rhizosphere colonization by the bacterium was observed on tomato plants grown from seeds treated with the above formulations.  相似文献

A method has been developed for the quantitation of N-[4-(5-bromo-2-pyrimidinyloxy)-3-methylphenyl]-N'-(2-dimethylamino-benzoyl)urea (BPU) and its metabolites in human plasma and urine. BPU and metabolites were separated on a C18 column with acetonitrile-water mobile phase containing 0.1% formic acid using isocratic flow for 5 min. The analytes were monitored by tandem mass spectrometry. Calibration curves were generated over the range of 2.5-500 ng/mL for BPU, mmBPU, and aminoBPU in plasma; and 0.1-20, 0.1-20, 0.5-100, 10-2000, 1-200, and 3-600 ng/mL for BPU, mmBPU, aminoBPU, G280, G308, and G322 in urine, respectively. The method has been successfully applied to study the pharmacokinetics of BPU.  相似文献

A wettable powder formulation (ABG-6108) of Bacillus thuringiensis serovar. israelensis was tested against chironomid larvae in experimental ponds at 1, 2, 3, 4 and 10 kg/ha (0.25–2.5 ppm), and in a golf pond at 3 kg/ha (0.5 ppm). Significant reductions (18–88%) in populations of Chrinomini and Tanytarsini experimental ponds, and 27–65% reduction of midges in the golf pond occurred during the 4-week evaluation period. The highest dose in experimental ponds had no adverse effects on rotifers, Cyclops spp., Daphnia sp., ostracods, Baetis sp., corixids and notonectids, and Coleoptera. The nontarget invertebrates in the golf pond also remained unaffected.  相似文献

Persistence of biological control agents against mosquito larvae was tested under simulated field conditions. Mosquito larvicidal activity of transgenic Anabaena PCC 7120 expressing cry4Aa, cry11Aa and p20 from Bacillus thuringiensis ssp. israelensis was greater than B. thuringiensis ssp. israelensis primary powder (fun 89C06D) or wettable powder (WP) (Bactimos products) when either mixed with silt or exposed to sunlight outdoors. Reduction of Bactimos primary powder toxicity was at least 10-fold higher than Anabaena's after mixing with silt. In outdoors experiments, Bactimos WP remained toxic (over 30% mortality of 3rd instar Aedes aegypti larvae) for 2-4 days only, while transgenic Anabaena's toxicity endured 8-21 days.  相似文献

In laboratory tests on young lettuce plants, the protection provided by sprays of zineb wettable powder against artificial inoculations with Bremia lactucae was less than that obtained with tank-mix zineb, and with several other dithiocarbamates and related fungicides. Experiments on autumn lettuce in the field also showed that tank-mix zineb was more effective than the wettable powder. On winter lettuce in frames, however, zineb wettable powder gave control similar to or better than that given by any of the other materials tested. Infection in most of these outdoor experiments was not heavy. None of the fungicides gave very high control or markedly increased the number of hearted or marketable plants. When zineb wettable powder was sprayed on autumn lettuce at the rate of 2 lb./acre it gave similar disease reductions whether applied in low, medium or high volumes of water.  相似文献

The acaricides clofentezine, hexythiazox and etoxazole are commonly referred to as ‘mite growth inhibitors’, and clofentezine and hexythiazox have been used successfully for the integrated control of plant mite pests for decades. Although they are still important today, their mode of action has remained elusive. Recently, a mutation in chitin synthase 1 (CHS1) was linked to etoxazole resistance. In this study, we identified and investigated a Tetranychus urticae strain (HexR) harboring recessive, monogenic resistance to each of hexythiazox, clofentezine, and etoxazole. To elucidate if there is a common genetic basis for the observed cross-resistance, we adapted a previously developed bulk segregant analysis method to map with high resolution a single, shared resistance locus for all three compounds. This finding indicates that the underlying molecular basis for resistance to all three compounds is identical. This locus is centered on the CHS1 gene, and as supported by additional genetic and biochemical studies, a non-synonymous variant (I1017F) in CHS1 associates with resistance to each of the tested acaricides in HexR. Our findings thus demonstrate a shared molecular mode of action for the chemically diverse mite growth inhibitors clofentezine, hexythiazox and etoxazole as inhibitors of an essential, non-catalytic activity of CHS1. Given the previously documented cross-resistance between clofentezine, hexythiazox and the benzyolphenylurea (BPU) compounds flufenoxuron and cycloxuron, CHS1 should be also considered as a potential target-site of insecticidal BPUs.  相似文献

This study aims to characterize salmonid manures and to determine their potential use in agricultural soils. Sampling was carried out below salmon and trout cages in farms located in lakes and in the sea in the South of Chile during 2002-2003. Manure was analyzed for macronutrients, micronutrients and heavy metals. Results showed a high variability between samples and differences between sea and lake manure. Under greenhouse conditions, three insect growth regulators, buprofezin, flufenoxuron and pyriproxyfen, at field concentrations and other two lower concentrations were evaluated for controlling of root knot nematode, Meloidogyne incognita, infecting eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) cv. Baladi. Generally, the tested pesticides reduced the number of galls, egg masses, females and developmental stages in roots and juveniles in soil compared to untreated check. The percentages of reduction were positively proportional with the respective concentrations. Flufenoxuron at its highest concentration was the most effective pesticide in reducing galls, egg masses, females and developmental stages compared with pyriproxyfen and buprofezin. The percentages of reduction caused by flufenoxuron were 67.80, 69.57, 70.75 and 95.23% for the, respective nematode criteria, while buprofezin at the highest concentration was the most effective in reducing number of hatched juveniles in soil followed by flufenoxuron and pyriproxyfen. Data showed that the length and fresh and dry weights of root and shoot of egg plant were increased with the lowest concentrations than the highest ones.  相似文献

The exodermis of Iris germanica roots is multiseriate. Its outermost layer matures first with typical Casparian bands and suberin lamellae. But as subsequent layers mature, the Casparian band extends into the tangential and anticlinal walls of their cells. Compared with roots in which the endodermis represents the major transport barrier, the multiseriate exodermis (MEX) was expected to reduce markedly radial water and solute transport. To test this idea, precocious maturation of the exodermis was induced with a humid air gap inside a hydroponic chamber. Hydraulic conductivity (Lp(pc)) was measured on completely submerged roots (with an immature exodermis) and on air-gap-exposed root regions (with two mature exodermal layers) using a pressure chamber. Compared with regions of roots with no mature exodermal layers, the mature MEX reduced Lp(pc) from 8.5×10(-8) to 3.9×10(-8) m s(-1) MPa(-1). Puncturing the MEX increased Lp(pc) to 19×10(-8) m s(-1) MPa(-1), indicating that this layer constituted a substantial hydraulic resistance within the root (75% of the total). Alternatively, a root pressure probe was used to produce pressure transients from which hydraulic conductivity was determined, but this device measured mainly flow through the endodermis in these wide-diameter roots. The permeability of roots to NaCl and ethanol was also reduced in the presence of two mature MEX layers. The data are discussed in terms of the validity of current root models and in terms of a potential role for I. germanica MEX during conditions of drought and salt stress.  相似文献

Neem (Azadirachta indica A. Juss) products have been shown to exert pesticidal properties against a variety of insect species. In mosquito control programs, such products may have the potential to be used successfully as larvicides. In exploring other advantages of neem products, we studied the oviposition responses of Culex tarsalis Coquillett and Cx. quinquefasciatus Say to two experimental azadirachtin (AZ) formulations, wettable powder Azad WP10 (WP) and emulsifiable concentrate Azad EC4.5 (EC). Gravid Cx. tarsalis exhibited a distinct preference for the neem suspension of the WP, where significantly more egg rafts were collected from the treatment than from the control. The minimum effective AZ concentration for this activity was 0.5 ppm. The aged suspensions from 1–7 days at 0.5 and 1 ppm AZ were more active in eliciting oviposition responses in Cx. tarsalis than the fresh preparations. This activity of the aged suspensions lasted up to 14 and 21 days at 0.5 and 1 ppm AZ, respectively. Negative ovipositional responses were indicated in the tests of the EC vs. Cx. tarsalis, as well as both neem formulations vs. Cx. quinquefasciatus. In the tests of the EC formulation, significantly less gravid females were trapped by oviposition cups in the treatment than in the control, and in the tests of the WP significantly less egg rafts were collected from the treatment than from the control. The minimum effective concentrations for oviposition avoidance activity were 5 ppm AZ for Cx. tarsalis and 10 ppm AZ for Cx. quinquefasciatus, which lasted up to 1 and 4 days for these two species respectively. Neem products potentially used as mosquito larvicides may have many additional benefits in mosquito control programs, the oviposition modification noted in the current studies is one such example.  相似文献

Virulence of Metarhizium anisopliae (Metschnikoff) Sorokin strain EAMa 01/121-Su against the German Cockroach, Blatella germanica (L.), was determined using four concentrations ranging from 4.2 x 10(6) to 4.2 x 10(9) spores per milliliter. The LD50 value was 1.4 x 10(7) spores per milliliter (56,000 spores per cockroach) and LT50 values were 14.8 days and 5.3 days for 4.2 x 10(8) and 4.2 x 10(9) spores per milliliter, respectively. An experiment was conducted to evaluate whether a fungal transmission could exist among infected and healthy cockroaches. Percentage mortality at a ratio of 1:10 of infected to unexposed cockroaches was 87.5% and LT50 was 12.2 days, which indicated the potential of this strain to be horizontally transmitted and to rapidly spread the infection in the insect population. The effect of a sublethal dose (ca. LD60) of M. anisopliae EAMa 01/121-Su strain, applied topically on German cockroaches, was studied by reciprocal crossing. Othecal production, oothecal hatchability, and nymphal production declined upon exposure to M. anisopliae EAMa 01/121-Su strain. The mean number of oothecae laid by female was progressively and significantly reduced by fungal treatment from second oviposition period onwards. Oothecal hatch of fungally challenged females was reduced by 46-49%, oothecal viability by 48-85%, and nymphal production by 22-35%. Only treated females showed an effect on oothecal production, oothecal hatch, and nymphal production, although oothecal hatch was also governed by treated males at a higher significance level. Our results on virulence and horizontal transmission of fungal conidia of M. anisopliae EAMa 01/121-Su strain and its sublethal reproductive effects on German cockroach females are discussed in terms of its potential to decrease the pest status of B. germanica in the short and long terms.  相似文献

Experimental indoxacarb powder and gel baits were evaluated in the laboratory, and a gel bait was evaluated in subsequent field studies against the German cockroach, Blattella germanica (L.). In continuous exposure tests, LT50 values were 1.90 and 1.10 d for 0.25 and 1% indoxacarb powder baits, respectively. However, 0.25% indoxacarb gel bait had an LT50 value of 0.68 d, similar to a 0.05% abamectin gel bait formulated with the same bait base. There was no difference in toxicity between fresh and 7-d-old gel bait deposits. A pyrethroid-resistant strain of German cockroaches was significantly resistant to both abamectin and indoxacarb gel baits. Gel bait contained approximately 40% water, desiccated rapidly at 25-28 degrees C and 30-45% RH, but did not rehydrate when held at 56.7% RH for 3 d. Powder indoxacarb baits contained <1% water and did not desiccate or gain water. Indoxacarb gel bait (0.25%) was relatively nonrepellent (approximately 30%) and had positive maximum performance index values (approximately 100) in Ebeling choice box experiments. In field experiments in cockroach-infested kitchens, the 0.25% indoxacarb gel bait significantly reduced visual counts of German cockroaches approximately 74% at 3 d and >95% at 14 d. Indoxacarb baits are toxic, relatively nonrepellent, and can significantly reduce German cockroach populations.  相似文献

为了筛选替代甲胺磷防治稻纵卷叶螟Cnaphalocrocismedinalis幼虫的药剂 ,对毒死蜱及其混配剂、氟虫腈 (锐劲特 )及其混配剂等 1 0多种农药进行了防治试验。试验结果表明 ,3 5 %纵卷清 (毒死蜱与乙酰甲胺磷 )可湿性粉剂、3 5 %毒斯威乳油、毒死蜱与敌敌畏混配剂以及高剂量的氟虫腈及其混配剂3 6%雄斯等药剂防治稻纵卷叶螟中高龄幼虫都有较显著的防治效果。 3 5 %纵卷清 80g 667m2 、3 5 %毒斯威 80mL 667m2 等药剂已在生产中大面积应用。在纵卷叶螟发生量大、虫龄偏高情况下 ,应适当增加用药量。  相似文献

Two field strains of the German cockroach Blattella germanica (L.) were collected in England from survivors of treatments with bendiocarb wettable powder, and bred in the laboratory. These and a laboratory susceptible strain were compared by a tarsal contact method to test for resistance to bendiocarb, fenitrothion and dieldrin. The field strains after exposure to the insecticide for 24 h were resistant to bendiocarb in terms of mortality by factors of 5.6 and 6.2 at the LC50 level, but at the LC95 level the resistance factors were only 1.7 and 2.0; however knockdown resistance was detected, with resistance factors at the KD50 level of 10.6 and 8.1. At shorter exposure times of 5 min and 60 min, 2–20% of cockroaches from the field strains survived 55 or 110 mg bendiocarb/m2; there were no survivors from the susceptible strain. Some cockroaches from the field strains were able to recover from knockdown after and during exposure to 110 mg bendiocarb/m2. Both field strains showed some resistance to dieldrin; however, there was no resistance to fenitrothion. When all three strains were exposed to 55 mg fenitrothion/m2 for 5 min, all the insects were knocked down within 3 h, and all had died within 96 h. There was no recovery from knockdown to fenitrothion or dieldrin.  相似文献

A range of marine phytoplankton was grown in closed systems in order to investigate the kinetics of dissolved inorganic carbon (DIC) use and the influence of the nitrogen source under conditions of constant pH. The kinetics of DIC use could be described by a rectangular hyperbolic curve, yielding estimations of KG(DIC) (the half saturation constant for carbon-specific growth, i.e. C mu) and mu max (the theoretical maximum C mu). All species attained a KG(DIC) within the range of 30-750 microM DIC. For most species, NH4+ use enabled growth with a lower KG(DIC) and/or, for two species, an increase in mu max. At DIC concentrations of > 1.6 mM, C mu was > 90% saturated for all species relative to the rate at the natural seawater DIC concentration of 2.0 mM. The results suggest that neither the rate nor the extent of primary productivity will be significantly limited by the DIC in the quasi-steady-state conditions associated with oligotrophic oceans. The method needs to be applied in the conditions associated with dynamic coastal (eutrophic) systems for clarification of a potential DIC rate limitation where cells may grow to higher densities and under variable pH and nitrogen supply.  相似文献
