The Edible Mushrooms of Madagascar: An Evolving Enigma. This paper on the most significant edible wild mushrooms of Madagascar is organized in the following four categories: (1) mushrooms of introduced eucalypt plantations, (2) mushrooms of introduced pine plantations, (3) mushrooms of native forests and woodlands, and (4) mushrooms found in fields, agricultural waste and other altered, non–forest habitats. Eucalyptus robusta plantations yield by far the bulk of edible mushrooms that are sold, especially species of Russula and Cantharellus. Some Suillus species of northern hemisphere origin have been introduced with pine plantations and are locally important, forming the basis of a small canning industry. In native woodland areas on the central plateau, several ectomycorrhizal mushrooms—very similar to those on the African mainland—are collected and consumed. With the exception of the widely marketed Cantharellus platyphyllus ssp. bojeriensis, these are only of local importance in the villages and smaller markets of the area. Denser forests in the mountains or on the east coast as well as manmade habitats such as fields, pastures, and agricultural wastes are searched for saprobic mushrooms of various types. Some of these saprobic mushrooms show considerable potential for cultivation. The variety of ectomycorrhizal mushrooms found in eucalypt plantations is unprecedented outside of Australia and, for the most part, do not appear to be of Australian origin. Possible reasons for this are briefly discussed. Two economically important species, Russula prolifica sp. nov. and R. edulis sp. nov., are newly described.  相似文献

A screening test for phenoloxidases from edible mushrooms was done on potato dextrose agar plates that contained phenolic chemicals. Many edible mushrooms showed positive reactions on the agar plates. Among them, Auricularia auricula-judae, Clitocybe nebularis, Lentinus edodes, Pholiota aurivella, and Pseudohiatula oshimae produced a considerable amount of phenoloxidases, and these enzymes showed maximum activities in the acidic pH region.  相似文献

The fourteenth international Ataxia-Telangiectasia Workshop 2012 (ATW2012) (www.atw2012.com) on ataxia-telangiectasia (AT) and the role of the ataxia telangiectasia mutated (ATM) gene in DNA repair, neurological disease, cancer and related topics was held from February 07 to 11, 2012 in Delhi, India. The international ATW2012 meeting reported the latest advances in ATM research as well as potential therapeutic treatments for A-T. The meeting was attended by a productive mix of scientists, ranging from those prominent in the initial characterization of the underlying genetic defect to young scientists just entering the field. In broad terms, three main themes were discussed at the meeting: first, a wealth of new details emerged on DNA damage signaling/repair mechanisms for which ATM is a critical element; secondly, important functions for ATM in previously unrelated cellular pathways were identified; and thirdly, new physiological effects and potential therapeutic treatments related to A-T were presented. This report summarizes below a sampling of the many interesting results from the meeting.  相似文献

During our stay of several years in the south of the Upper-Shaba region of Zaïre, we observed that the consumption of wild mushrooms constitutes an appreciable food supplement for the local populations. It seemed of interest to us to try to determine the species consumed as well as their food value—this type of systematic study having not yet been undertaken in Central Africa. 食用菌因药食两用的特点被广泛研究,具有提升机体免疫,阻止和防御疾病的功能作用。不同食用菌中所含的生物活性组分不同,主要有:多糖类、蛋白类、萜类、生物碱类等,这些组分具有抗氧化、抗肿瘤、免疫调节、抗炎症反应、抗心血管疾病、抗细菌、抗辐射及抗糖尿病等功效,其中抗肿瘤作用研究居多,研究发现其分子作用机制主要通过调控细胞信号通路中相关因子表达水平抑制肿瘤细胞增殖,诱导细胞凋亡的,这为开发天然无毒性肿瘤药物制剂奠定了理论基础。针对食用菌不同生物活性组分抗肿瘤分子机制的最新研究进展展开简要综述。  相似文献
