The aim of this study was to describe the kinematical demands placed on soccer assistant referees during the 2003 U-17 World Championship, and to examine the relationship between the results in the fitness tests adopted by FIFA and match activities. Twenty-two international-level assistant referees were observed during 12 matches and computerized analysis of match activities was performed using a two-dimensional photogrammetric video analysis system based on DLT (direct lineal transformation) algorithms. Before the start of the tournament, the assistant referees completed a 2 x 50-m sprint test and a 12-minute run test. Assistant referees covered on average 6137 +/- 539 m during the matches, with 20% of the total distance covered at high velocities (speeds faster than 13 km x h(-1)). During the second half, time spent standing still increased (P < 0.01) and distance covered jogging (P < 0.05), cruising (P < 0.01) and moving sideways (P < 0.001) decreased. The score in the 12-minute run test showed a low correlation with the entire match distance (r = 0.24; P > 0.05) and with the time spent exercising at a high intensity (r = 0.35; P > 0.05). The 50-m sprint time was not significantly correlated (r = -0.38; P > 0.05) with time spent within the high-intensity activities category. The results of this study demonstrate that assistant referees experience unique kinematical demands during soccer officiating and that the score in the battery of fitness tests adopted by FIFA was not correlated to match activities.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to examine the relationship between selected blood lactate thresholds and competitive match activities in elite soccer referees. Eight elite-level referees (mean age, 37.6 +/- 3.4 years) were each observed during 2 Serie A matches (n = 16), and the mean of each match activity was used for analysis. Match activities were monitored using a technology similar to that reported by Ohashi and others. Blood lactate thresholds were assessed under field conditions during a progressive multistage protocol. Running velocities attained at selected blood lactate concentrations (2 and 4 mmol x L(-1), V2 and V4, respectively) were chosen because these are commonly used to assess endurance performance. Analyses of correlations were performed considering V2 and V4 values as independent variables and total distance, maximal velocity distance (runs performed at velocities faster than 24 km x h(-1)) and high-intensity activity distance (runs performed at velocities faster than 18 km x h(-1)) as dependent variables. This study examined the relation between field-test results and match performance in elite Italian soccer referees. Subjects (n = 22) were all experienced elite-level referees enrolled in the Commissione Arbitri Nazionali (CAN) and thus officiating in the Serie A and B Italian championships. Referees were, on separate occasions, tested for fitness (50-m, 200-m, and 12-minute run tests) and observed a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 3 times (n = 39) during Serie A matches. Match analyses were performed considering 11 match activity categories. Analyses of correlations were performed considering 50-m, 200-m, and 12-minute run test performances as independent variables and total distance, maximal speed distance (runs performed at speeds faster than 24 km.h-1), and high-intensity activity distance (runs performed at speeds faster than 18 km.h-1, high intensity activity [HIA]) as dependent variables. The aim of this study was to examine how match activities, specifically high-intensity activity (HIA; activities performed at speeds faster than 18.1 km x h(-1)), vary among matches in elite soccer referees, because variations in match performance can potentially guide physical conditioning regimens for these referees. Fourteen Italian soccer referees were observed during 65 first-division matches a minimum of 3 and a maximum of 6 times each. For comparison, shorter matches (SM) and longer matches (LM) for each referee were identified. Mean (+/-SD) SM and LM total distances were 10,949 +/- 1,095 m and 12,303 +/- 666 m (p < 0.001), respectively. SM and LM were not different in term of duration (p > 0.05). During LM, referees spent 44% less time standing still (p < 0.01) and covered 10% more distance at low intensity than they did in SM (p < 0.05). No HIA variation was observed between SM and LM (p > 0.05). For the elite referee, work rate is increased without affecting HIA.  相似文献

This study investigated the activity profile of young soccer players (mean age 11.8 +/- 0.6 years; N = 12) with the aim of providing information for the development of training strategies. Data for movements of each player were obtained using 2 cameras that aimed at the subject throughout the match (Play Controller, Phromos, Italy). Encoders transmitted camera movements to a computer. The collected signals were then converted into distances, times, and speed attained at arbitrarily selected match categories. Players were monitored during official 11 vs. 11 matches (N = 12), with each match consisting of 2 halves, each lasting 30 minutes played on a regular soccer pitch. Mean total match distance amounted to 6,175 +/- 318 m. During the second half, players covered 5.5% less distance (p > 0.05). At speeds between 13.1 and 18.0 km.h(-1), players covered 12% less distance during the second half (p < 0.05). Players stood still 11% of the total time played (3,789 +/- 109 seconds). At speeds faster than 18 km.h(-1), players performed 33 +/- 4 bouts during match play, with a mean time length of 2.3 +/- 0.6 seconds per bout. Mean time interval between two successive maximal sprint bouts was 118.5 +/- 20.5 seconds. Players stood still longer during the course of the second half (229 +/- 76 seconds vs. 173 +/- 61 seconds, p < 0.05). Players tended to play in small areas of the football pitch and spent 9% of the total match time at high intensity. In order to promote a more active space coverage of the young player, at least for the age considered in the present study, the dimensions of the football pitch and the number of players should be reduced.  相似文献

To investigate the effect of COVID-19 lockdown on match-play metrics in professional football referees during official matches of the Spanish professional leagues. Forty-two professional football referees from the First (n = 20) and Second Division (n = 22) were monitored during 564 official games using Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. Data of matches before lockdown were compared to matches after resumption of the competition. Compared to pre-lockdown, in the referees of the First Division there was a decrease in the total running distance and the distance covered at all speed thresholds > 6 km · h-1 after lockdown (P < .05). In the Second Division referees, the post-lockdown measurement only showed a decrease in the running distance at 21–24 km · h-1 (P < .05), with no changes in the other speed thresholds. The post-lockdown measurement showed an increased distance covered at < 6 km · h-1 and the number of accelerations for both First and Second Division referees (P < .05). Referees’ match activity was reduced due to the COVID-19 lockdown, while the effect on running parameters was more pronounced in First Division referees.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate recovery via analysis of activity profiles in a professional soccer team over an intense period of matches. A total of 172 outfield players from 27 Spanish League matches played by a professional team during the 2005-2006 season were analyzed using a multiple-camera match analysis system. The dependent variables were the distance covered by players at different intensities. Data were analyzed using an independent-sample t-test and a linear regression analysis with 5 independent variables: the number of matches played per week (1 or 2), match status (i.e., whether the team was winning, losing or drawing), match location (i.e., playing at home or away), quality of the opponents (strong or weak), and the individual playing position of the players. The main finding of this study suggests that the activity profiles of professional soccer players were not influenced by short recovery between matches. Although those players who played 2 matches a week covered less distance at maximal (>23 km·h(-1)), submaximal (19.1-23 km·h(-1)), and medium (14.1-19 km·h(-1)) intensities than those players who played 1 match a week, no significant differences were found. Moreover, results from this study seem to confirm that the elite soccer players' distance covered at various speeds is dependent on match contextual factors. The top-class players performed less high-intensity activity (>19.1 km·h(-1)) when winning than when they were losing (p < 0.05), but more distance was covered by walking and jogging when winning (p < 0.05). The home teams covered a greater distance than away teams at low intensity (<14.1 km·h(-1)) (p < 0.01). Finally, the better the quality of the opponent, the higher the distance covered by walking and jogging.  相似文献

Elite soccer referees usually achieve the peak of their officiating careers at an average age that is considerably older than that observed in competitive matched soccer players. As ageing has been reported to negatively affect physical performance, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of ageing on fitness performance in elite-level soccer referees. Thirty-six elite-level soccer referees were grouped into young (Y, n = 12), average (A, n = 14), and old (O, n = 10) groups, according to their age and observed for field test performance (countermovement jump [CMJ], 50-m and 200-m sprints, and 12-minute running for distance). Results showed a significant age effect on CMJ (r = -0.52, p < 0.001), 200 m (r = 0.51, p < 0.001), and 12-minute time trial running (r = -0.52, p < 0.001). Y jumped higher than A and O groups (p < 0.05) and were faster than O over 200 m (p < 0.05). No group effect was observed for 12-minute run and 50-m performance (p > 0.05), respectively. Sixteen of the 36 referees were further examined for selected physiological variables and grouped into 2 equal (n = 8) age groups (young and old, Y1 and O1, respectively). Vo(2)max was higher in Y1 (p < 0.05), but O1 attained performances similar to Y1 running at selected blood lactate speeds (4 mmol L(-1), p > 0.05). Although older referees demonstrated acceptable fitness levels, younger officials should ensure that they develop appropriate levels of aerobic and anaerobic fitness to be able to match the demands placed upon them while refereeing throughout their careers. The objective of this study was to determine the distance covered by professional soccer players during matches with the use of the computerized match analysis system Amisco Pro? (version 1.0.2, Nice, France). Kinematic examination included the specification of the distance covered by 31 players participating in 4 matches in the Union of European Football Association Cup competitions during the 2008-2009 season. Data were analyzed based on players' positions on the pitch, changes in the players' motor activity intensity level, and match period (first or second half). The results of statistical analysis revealed that the average total distance covered by all players (n = 31) was 11,288 ± 734 m. With respect to the player's position on the pitch, the midfielders traveled the longest average distance (11,770 ± 554 m) during the game. This was 3% longer than the distance achieved by the attackers at 11,377 ± 584 m, and 7% longer than that achieved by the defenders 10,932 ± 728 m. The analysis of physical loads on soccer players during a match is highly useful for training individualization. It provides a tool for effective planning and for recording the loads on players, which is an indispensable element of modern coaching.  相似文献

We investigated the movement patterns of small-sided training games and compared these movement patterns with domestic, national, and international standard competition in elite women soccer players. In addition, we investigated the repeated-sprint demands of women's soccer with respect to the duration of sprints, number of sprint repetitions, recovery duration, and recovery intensity. Thirteen elite women soccer players [age (mean +/- SD) 21 +/- 2 years] participated in this study. Time-motion analysis was completed during training (n = 39) consisting of small-sided (i.e., three versus three and five versus five) training games, domestic matches against male youth teams (n = 10), Australian national-league matches (n = 9), and international matches (n = 12). A repeated-sprint bout was defined as a minimum of three sprints, with recovery of less than 21 seconds between sprints. The overall exercise to rest ratios for small-sided training games (1:13) were similar to or greater than domestic competition against male youth teams (1:15) and national-league (1:16) and international (1:12) competitions. During the international matches analyzed, 4.8 +/- 2.8 repeated-sprint bouts occurred per player, per match. The number of sprints within the repeated-sprint bouts was 3.4 +/- 0.8. The sprint duration was 2.1 +/- 0.7 seconds, and the recovery time between sprints was 5.8 +/- 4.0 seconds. Most recovery between sprints was active in nature (92.6%). In contrast to international competition, repeated-sprint bouts were uncommon in small-sided training games, domestic competition against male youth teams, and national-league competition. These findings demonstrate that small-sided training games simulate the overall movement patterns of women's soccer competition but offer an insufficient training stimulus to simulate the high-intensity, repeated-sprint demands of international competition.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to examine yo-yo intermittent recovery test (Yo-Yo test) and 12-minute run test (12MRT) performances in experienced soccer referees of different competitive levels. Three groups (n = 14 each) of experienced Italian soccer referees officiating in the first (series AB, top-level), third (series C, medium-level), and fourth (series D, low-level) division, were randomly submitted to the 12MRT and the Yo-Yo test during 2 testing sessions, 48-hours apart. 12MRT performances were 3,000 +/- 112 m; 2,894 +/- 99 m; and 2,896 +/- 171 m for top-level, medium-level and low-level referees, respectively (p > 0.05). In the Yo-Yo test, the top-level, medium-level, and low-level referees covered 1,874 +/- 431 m; 1,360 +/- 172 m; and 1,272 +/- 215 m, respectively. The test performances of top-level referees in the Yo-Yo test was significantly different from those scored by medium-level and low-level referees (p < 0.05). After the Yo-Yo test, blood lactate concentrations (BLC) were higher in the medium-level and low-level referees compared with the top-level referees (p < 0.05). The results of the present study show that the Yo-Yo test and not the 12MRT can discriminate endurance performance in experienced elite level soccer referees. With respect to its discriminative and match performance validity, the Yo-Yo test may be considered a relevant field test to assess endurance preparedness for experienced soccer referees and a useful tool in talent selection.  相似文献

We sought to study the physical demands and match performance of women soccer players. Nineteen top-class and 15 high-level players were individually videotaped in competitive matches, and time-motion analysis were performed. The players changed locomotor activity >1,300 times in a game corresponding to every ~4 seconds and covered 9-11 km in total. The top-class players ran 28% longer (P < 0.05) at high intensities than high-level players (1.68 +/- 0.09 and 1.33 +/- 0.10 km, respectively) and sprinted 24% longer (P < 0.05). The top-class group had a decrease (P < 0.05) of 25-57% in high intensity running in the final 15 minutes compared with the first four 15-minutes intervals, whereas the high-level group performed less (P < 0.05) high-intensity running in the last 15 minutes of each half in comparison with the 2 previous 15-minute periods in the respective half. Peak distance covered by high intensity running in a 5-minute interval was 33% longer (P < 0.05) for the top-class players than the high-level players. In the following 5 minutes immediately after the peak interval top-class players covered 17% less (P < 0.05) high-intensity running than the game average. Defenders performed fewer (P < 0.05) intervals of high-intensity running than midfielders and attackers, as well as fewer (P < 0.05) sprints than the attackers. In conclusion, for women soccer players (1) top-class international players perform more intervals of high-intensity running than elite players at a lower level, (2) fatigue develops temporarily during and towards the end of a game, and (3) defenders have lower work rates than midfielders and attackers. The difference in high-intensity running between the 2 levels demonstrates the importance of intense intermittent exercise for match performance in women soccer. Thus, these aspects should be trained intensively in women soccer.  相似文献

In elite-level soccer, player motion characteristics are commonly generated from match play and training situations using semiautomated video analysis systems and global positioning system (GPS) technology, respectively. Before such data are used collectively to quantify global player load, it is necessary to understand both the level of agreement and direction of bias between the systems so that specific interventions can be made based on the reported results. The aim of this report was to compare data derived from both systems for physical match performances. Six elite-level soccer players were analyzed during a competitive match using semiautomated video analysis (ProZone? [PZ]) and GPS (MinimaxX) simultaneously. Total distances (TDs), high speed running (HSR), very high speed running (VHSR), sprinting distance (SPR), and high-intensity running distance (HIR; >4.0 m·s(-1)) were reported in 15-minute match periods. The GPS reported higher values than PZ did for TD (GPS: 1,755.4 ± 245.4 m; PZ: 1,631.3 ± 239.5 m; p < 0.05); PZ reported higher values for SPR and HIR than GPS did (SPR: PZ, 34.1 ± 24.0 m; GPS: 20.3 ± 15.8 m; HIR: PZ, 368.1 ± 129.8 m; GPS: 317.0 ± 92.5 m; p < 0.05). Caution should be exercised when using match-load (PZ) and training-load (GPS) data interchangeably.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to compare physical demands during the most demanding scenarios (MDS) of different training sessions and official matches in professional basketball players across playing positions. Thirteen professional basketball players were monitored over a 9-week competitive season using a local positioning system. Peak physical demands included total distance, distance covered at > 18 km·h-1, distance and number of accelerations (≥ 2 m∙s-2) and decelerations (≤ -2 m∙s-2) over a 60-second epoch. Analysis of variance for repeated measures, Bonferroni post-hoc tests and standardised Cohen’s effect size (ES) were calculated. Overall, almost all physical demands during the MDS of training were lower (-6.2% to -35.4%) compared to official matches. The only variable that surpassed competition demands was distance covered at > 18 km·h-1, which presented moderate (ES = 0.61, p = 0.01) and small (ES = 0.48, p > 0.05) increases during training sessions four and three days before a competition, respectively. Conversely, the two previous practices before match day presented trivial to very large decreases (ES = 0.09–2.66) in all physical demands. Furthermore, centres achieved the lowest peak value in total distance covered during matches, forwards completed the greatest peak distance at > 18 km·h-1, and guards performed the greatest distance and number of high-intensity accelerations and decelerations. In conclusion, physical demands during the MDS of different training sessions across the microcycle failed to match or surpass peak values during official matches, which should be considered when prescribing a training process intended to optimise the MDS of match play.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to ascertain the effect of playing three consecutive matches with extra time (ET) on the physical performance of selected Croatian players in their subsequent match, the final of the 2018 Men’s World Cup in Russia. The case study consisted of 4 players on the Croatian national team (16 observations) who had played in all three matches up to 120 min. The consecutive full time matches (90 minutes) and extra time (30 minutes) were compared. The analysis was conducted using data collected by an advanced motion analysis system known as STATS and from interviews with the strength and conditioning coach of the Croatian national team. The recorded variables used were: total distance covered [m], distances covered [m] at intensity ranges of 20–25 km/h and above 25 km/h, and number of sprints performed. All the studied parameters systematically increased in each match up to 90 minutes of play, reached their maximum values in the semi-final and then decreased in the final match. Compared to the first extra time period, in the third extra time period the players covered twice as much distance with an intensity of 20–25 km/h and above 25 km/h, and recorded twice as many sprints. This investigation shows that players in central positions on the pitch are able to maintain or even increase high and very high intensity activity in three consecutive matches with extra time. These data complement the developing body of literature relating to the influence of accumulation of match play with extra time periods on high level players.  相似文献

The aim of the present study was to analyse the influence of congested periods of matches on the acceleration (Acc) and deceleration (Dec) profiles of elite soccer players. Twenty-three elite male professional soccer players participated in the study across 31 official matches. Assessed periods included: (i) congested periods (three to four days between games), and (ii) non-congested periods (more than four days between games). Physical activity during matches was recorded during games using a 10Hz global positioning system device, coupled with a 100 Hz accelerometer, and was analysed according to the periods. Maximal Acc- (73.2 ± 20.3 vs. 84.918.5 m), high Acc- (244.0 ± 49.5 vs. 267.0 ± 37.8 m), maximal Dec- (139.0 ± 44.8 vs. 152.039.3 m) and the total decelerating- distance (5132 ± 690 vs. 5245 ± 552 m) were lower in congested than in non-congested periods (p < 0.05, effect size 0.31–0.70). Neither a main effect of playing position nor a period*playing position interaction on Acc and Dec were observed (p > 0.05). It was concluded that Acc and Dec match activities were significantly affected during congested periods compared to non-congested highlighting a possible fatigue accumulation being responsible for the observed decrement in physical activity. Monitoring Acc and Dec metrics throughout particular periods of congested fixtures amongst professional soccer teams is advised and may be a way to assess physical and fatigue status.  相似文献

The study aimed at verifying the effect of soccer refereeing on power performances, evaluated by means of countermovement (CMJ) and bounce (BJ) jumps. Ten soccer referees (age 23 +/- 3 years; V(.-)O2max 51.8 +/- 3.2 ml x kg(-1) x min(-1)) participated in this study. The physical load of refereeing was evaluated by means of subject's heart rate (HR), motor activities recorded during the match, and blood lactate measured at the end of the 2 halves. Analysis of variance and chi-square tested the differences between halves (p < 0.05). During the first half, the occurrence of subject's HR >85%HRmax was 62 +/- 31%, and it significantly (p < 0.05) decreased to 45 +/- 24% during the second half. Referees spent 41 +/- 5% running, 44 +/- 6% walking, and 15 +/- 5% inactivity, with no significant differences between halves. Blood lactate was significantly different only between warm-up (2.0 +/- 0.4 mM) and first half (4.7 +/- 2.9 mM). No significant difference emerged for CMJ and BJ after the 2 halves, demonstrating that young referees with acceptable fitness levels are able to maintain their all-out capabilities during the whole match.  相似文献

The objective of this study was to determine whether there is a decrease in the physical performance of the players in the most demanding passages (MDP) during periods of competition congestion. The study involved 15 under-19 players, belonging to a club in Spain’s first division (age: 18.1 ± 0.8 years, weight: 70.2 ± 4.9 kg and height: 1.78 ± 0.06 m), who were monitored during 23 national and international official matches in the 2018/19 season. The Youth League matches were played between two matches in the national championship in six different weeks. The league matches corresponded to the first 17 matches of the league championship, the period in which the 6 matches in the Youth League were played. The two physical variables analysed were total distance (TD) and distance at > 21 km·h-1 (TD21). Using the rolling average, four time windows were taken (1, 3, 5 and 10 min), and the values were relativized to the minute (m·min-1). The main results were that: there were more MDP in the first halves than in the second halves of all the time windows; 2) the central match in the week (Youth League) was the most demanding one; and 3) the players maintained the TD and TD21 in the MDP in the third match compared to the first. The results of this study could provide trainers with information on the need to design training tasks that simulate the demands of competition in relation to the TD and the TD21 according to different time windows.  相似文献

This study compared the physical demands of friendly matches (FMs) and small-sided games (SGs) in semiprofessional soccer players by means of global positioning system technology. Twenty-seven semiprofessional soccer players were monitored during 7 FMs and 9 sessions involving different SGs. Their physical profile was described on the basis of 20 variables related to distances and frequencies at different running speeds, the number of accelerations, and through global indicators of workload such as the work:rest ratio, player workload, and the exertion index. Results showed significant differences (p < 0.01) between SGs and FMs for the following variables: overall workload (SG > FM); the distribution of the distance covered in the speed zones 7.0-12.9 km·h(-1) (SG > FM) and >21 km·h(-1) (FM > SG); the distribution of time spent in certain speed zones (FM > SG: 0.0-6.9 and >21 km·h(-1); FM > SG: 7.0-12.9 km·h(-1)). More sprints per hour of play were performed during FMs, with greater mean durations and distances, greater maximum durations and distances, and a greater frequency per hour of play for sprints of 10-40 and >40 m (p < 0.01). The frequency of repeated high-intensity efforts was higher during FM (p < 0.01). The results show that coaches and strength and conditioning professionals should consider FMs during their training routine to foster specific adaptations in the domain of high-intensity effort.  相似文献
