Further studies in the genus Caulokaempferia (Zingiberaceae) in Thailand with the description of two new species

Two new species of Caulokempferia from Thailand, C. amplexicaule and C. pedemontana are described and illustrated. The biogeography and the diversity of the genus are discussed.     

Three new species and one new combination in Boesenbergia (Zingiberaceae) from Thailand

Three new species, Boesenbergia acuminata, B. basispicata and B. petiolata are described and illustrated. Boesenbergia siamensis comb, nov. is illustrated. A key to the species in Thailand is also presented.     

Boesenbergia tenuispicata (Zingiberaceae): a new species from Thailand

Boesenbergia renuispicafa is described from southern Thailand. Its relationship is discussed.     

A new species of Scaphoclamys (Zingiberaceae) from Thailand

Scaphloclamys obcordata is described from the Naratiwat province in South Thailand. Its relationship with 5. klossii is discussed.     

Two new species of Scaphochlamys (Zingiberaceae) from Thailand

Scaphochlamys minutiflora and S. rubescens are described and illustrated. A key to the species of Scaphochlamys occurring in Thailand is provided.     

Three new species of Etlingera (Zingiberaceae) from Borneo

Three new species from northern Borneo are described: Etlingera rubromarginata from Sarawak, Brunei and Sabah; E. belalongensis presently only known from the Temburong District of Brunei; and E. corrugata presently only known from Danum Valley, Sabah.     

Kaempfería grandifolia sp. nov. (Zingiberaceae) a new species from Thailand

Kaempfería grandifolia is described and illustrated from the Phu Phan National Park in NE Thailand. The somatic chromosome number is established to 2n = 22. Its affinities are discussed.     

A new species of Etlingera (Zingiberaceae) from peninsular Malaysia and southern Thailand

Etlingera corneri , a new species from peninsular Malaysia and southern Thailand is described and illustrated.     

Three new species of Hiptage (Malpighiaceae) from Thailand

Three new species, Hiptage calcicola, H. gracilis , and H. monopteryx are described. A key to the species of Hiptage found in Thailand is provided.     

Taxonomic changes regarding three species of Zingiber (Zingiberaceae) from Thailand

Zingiber teres S. Q. Tong & Y. M. Xia and Z. xishuangbannaense S. Q. Tong are reduced to be synonyms of Z. smilesianum Craib and Z. thorelii Gagnep.,respectively. Z. cochinchinense Gagnep. is changed to be a subspecies of Z. zerumbet (L.) Sm.

Five new species of Zingiber (Zingiberaceae) from Borneo

Recent collections from Sabah and Sarawak have revealed a wide species diversity among the Bornean members of the genus Zingiber. Four previously unknown and one incompletely known species of the genus are presented. Z. vinosum is a lowland species characterized by its burgundy colour of the lower surface of the leaves. Z. lambii was collected in primary lowland forest on ultramafic soil while Z. argenteum was collected in primary lowland forest on limestone. Both are characterized by their silvery leaves and orange inflorescences. Z. pendulum, found in primary mountain forest, has pending leafy stems and a deeply split labellum with very well developed side-lobes. Z. latifolium, found in secondary mountain forest, is vegetatively distinct by its broad leaves with a densely pubescent margin Z. vinosum, Z. Iambii, Z. pendulum and Z. latifolium are from Sabah and Z. argenteum is from Sarawak.     

Six new species of Zingiber (Zingiberaceae) from Borneo

Six new species of the genus Zingiber from Borneo are presented. Z viridiflavum was collected in primary lowland forest, while Z chlorobracteatum was collected in hilly secondary forest. Both are characterized by their slender fusiform inflorescences with yellow-green bracts. Z. flagelliforme found in primary lowland forest displays a peculiar reproduction habit in its tapering leafy shoots which bend over to trail on the ground where plantlets produced in the leaf-axis take root. Z velutinum was found in mid-elevation secondary forest. It is a tall plant with large ovate inflorescences and bright red, densely hairy bracts. Z phillippsii was found in a gulley in montane primary forest. It is vegetatively characterized by its purple stems and glabrous leaves while the inflorescence has a similarity to the common Bornean species Z. coloratum. Z. georgeii is distinct by its procumbent inflorescences with orange bracts. Z viridiflavum, Z. chlorobracteatum, Z. flagelliforme, Z. phillippsii and Z velutinum are from Sabah and Z georgeii is from Sarawak.     

Two new species of Boesenbergia (Zingiberaceae) from Borneo

Two new species of Boesenbergia are described from Temburong District, Brunei, Borneo and their relationships are discussed. Additional chromosome counts of Bosenbergia are included.     

A new species of Zingiber (Zingiberaceae) from Vietnam

Zingiber collinsii , a new species from Vietnam is described and illustrated. It is placed in section Zingiber having the inflorescence on a radical, short erect scape.     

Three new species of Loxosoma (Entoprocta) from Phuket, Thailand, with a review of the genus

Three new species of Loxosoma are described, L. nung and L. song , on the polychaete Pectinaria brevispinis from the reef flat in front of Phuket Marine Biological Center, and L. sum on the polychaete Axiothella obockiensis from a sand flat at Nai Yang Beach, Phuket Island. The genus Loxosoma is briefly reviewed. Species originally referred to Loxosoma but now transferred to Loxosomella are listed; insufficiently characterized species probably belonging to Loxosomella are listed as well. The monospecific genus Loxostemma is synonymized with Loxosoma . The subgenus name Loxosomina is proposed to replace the junior homonym Loxomorpha .     

A new species of Globba (Zingiberaceae) from Peninsular Malaysia
