Studies were carried out on 8 sexually immature male calves. Sections of the ureters, urinary bladder, and urethra were cut with a freezing microtome and the method of Ky?s?la et al. (1980) was used to visualize the adrenergic nerve fibres. It was found that bovine ureters possessed weak innervation; most of the nerves was located in the muscular membrane, and only in the paravesical part, sparse nerve fibres were found in the submucosa of this one. Apex of the urinary bladder was more weakly supplied with the adrenergic nerves than the corpus, whereas bladder's trigonum and cervix possessed numerous nerve fibres in both muscular and submucosal membranes. The distribution pattern of adrenergic nerves in the urethra was similar to that of urinary bladder's cervix. The presence of adregeneric nerve fibres was found in submucosal layer of both the urinary bladder and the urethra. Part of the nerves was connected with blood vessels of the organs under study.  相似文献

Histochemical method of KARNOWSKY and ROOTS (1964) was used to discover the AChE-positive nerves. These nerve fibres were found in all layers of all organs under study. The ureter was weakly innervated, while the urinary bladder and the urethra possessed strong AChE-positive innervation. AChE-positive fibres were most abundant in the bladder trigone. Muscular membrane was the best supplied layer, both in the urinary bladder and in the urethra. Part of AChE-positive nerves was connected with the blood vessels in all organs under discussion.  相似文献

In the obstructed bladder by urethral stenosis the morphometry studies show a decrease of the cholinergic and adrenergic intrinsic innervation in a different way according the tissue layer and the experimental delay. Adrenergic nerves are more affected than cholinergic ones but they recover more quickly. In the adventitia and the sub-mucosa first affected by the high pressures inside the bladder the density of the autonomous nerves decreases from the first week. The perivascular and muscular nervous fibers are less sensitive and the similar shape of their innervation histogram gives evidence of a tight bond between their adrenergic network. Beside their motor participation the adrenergic terminal fibers may play a role in the cellular trophicity of the muscle.  相似文献

Adrenergic innervation of the human gall bladder was studied using two specific fluorescence histochemical methods. Blue-green fluorescing varicose nerves were scarce and mostly followed the course of blood vessels as typical perivascular plexuses. However, some adrenergic nerves not associated with the vessels were occasionally seen, as well as structures suggestive of a pericellular arrangement of varicose adrenergic nerve terminals on non-fluorescing ganglion cells. A few enterochromaffin cells were seen in the epithelial lining, also in the deep invaginations obviously representing the Aschoff-Rokitansky sinuses. Occasionally, small rounded cells with a rounded, relatively large nucleus, and exhibiting a weak yellow-green to blue-green granular cytoplasmic fluorescence, were observed in the wall of the gall bladder. The possible functional and evolutionary significance of these neural and endocrine elements was discussed against the data on physiological and pharmacological studies obtained from the literature. It was concluded that their significance is, in all probability, secondary to the influence of the intestinal polypeptide hormones, vagal innervation and circulating catecholamines upon the normal function of the gall bladder. The glyoxylic acid-induced fluorescence histochemical method was found to be superior to the conventional formaldehyde technique in studies on human tissue.  相似文献

Using the Karnovsky and Roots modified by E1 Badawi and Schenk's technic for the cholinergic innervation and with the method of Lindvall and Bj?rklund modified by de la Torre and Surgeon for the adrenergic ones, we demonstrate the innervation of each tissular layer, in cervix, corpus and cornua of the uterus of the she-rat in pro-oestrus state. A statistic evaluation is established for the different areas. The density of cholinergic innervation is richer than the adrenergic one. The number of cholinergic fibers is maximum in the cervix. It decreases in corpus and cornua especially in the mucosal and sub-mucosal layers. The density of the muscular nervous network is predominant in the corpus versus the cervix. The number of adrenergic nerves is maximum in corpus it diminishes in the cervix and the cornua. In each region, the muscular adrenergic network domines over the other tissular layers. We confirm statistically morphometric non parametric observations of these other authors.  相似文献

Summary VIP (Vasoactive Intestinal Polypeptide)-immunoreactive nerves were found throughout the genito-urinary tract of the cat; they were less numerous in the guinea pig and in the rat. In the cat, VIP nerves were particularly numerous in the neck of the urinary bladder and proximal urethra, in the uterine cervix and in the prostate gland. The nerves were found in smooth muscle, around blood vessels and in the connective tissue immediately beneath the epithelium. Ganglia were found below the trigonum area of the bladder, in the wall of the proximal urethra, and in paracervical tissue. VIP-immunoreactive nerve cell bodies occurred in all these ganglionic formations. These ganglia probably represent the origin of the VIP nerves of the genital tract since their removal in the female cat greatly reduced the VIP nerve supply. Transection of the hypogastric nerves had no overt effect. Transection of the cervix eliminated the VIP nerves above the level of the lesion, except those in the ovaries, supporting the view that the VIP nerves of the uterus and the oviduct are derived from a paracervical source.  相似文献

In rats with diffuse peritonitis obtained by intraabdominal administration of a 10% fecal suspension (0.8 ml X 100g) neurohistochemical methods were used to study the adrenergic and cholinergic innervation of muscular membrane of the small and large intestine. It is shown that the disturbance of cholinergic innervation comes along with the intestinal paresis. Adrenergic innervation, represented by separate bundles, is found to be slightly affected.  相似文献

The urinary tract is an outflow system that conducts urine from the kidneys to the bladder via the ureters that propel urine to the bladder via peristalsis. Once in the bladder, the ureteral valve, a mechanism that is not well understood, prevents backflow of urine to the kidney that can cause severe damage and induce end-stage renal disease. The upper and lower urinary tract compartments form independently, connecting at mid-gestation when the ureters move from their primary insertion site in the Wolffian ducts to the trigone, a muscular structure comprising the bladder floor just above the urethra. Precise connections between the ureters and the trigone are crucial for proper function of the ureteral valve mechanism; however, the developmental events underlying these connections and trigone formation are not well understood. According to established models, the trigone develops independently of the bladder, from the ureters, Wolffian ducts or a combination of both; however, these models have not been tested experimentally. Using the Cre-lox recombination system in lineage studies in mice, we find, unexpectedly, that the trigone is formed mostly from bladder smooth muscle with a more minor contribution from the ureter, and that trigone formation depends at least in part on intercalation of ureteral and bladder muscle. These studies suggest that urinary tract development occurs differently than previously thought, providing new insights into the mechanisms underlying normal and abnormal development.  相似文献

The adrenergic innervation of the urinary bladder of normal female and pregnant rats has been studied using a fluorescence histochemical method. The bladder is richly innervated by adrenergic nerve fibres as is evidenced by the presence of numerous adrenergic nerves in the adventitia, musculosa and submucosa. However, adrenergic nerve cells could not be observed. During pregnancy, adrenergic nerve fibres showed signs of degeneration, as most of the nerve fibres disappeared and the surviving fibres were much swollen. 10 days after parturition the pattern and density of adrenergic innervation became almost similar to those of the control animals.  相似文献

Histochemistry and electron microscopy were used to study the adrenergic innervation of subcutaneous adipose tissue in fetal pigs. Adrenergic innervation was present around arteries, arterioles, and adipocyte-associated capillaries. Nerve fibers were infrequently observed around veins, venules, and adipocytes. Ultrastructural features of nerves included mitochondria, clear synaptic vesicles, and a small number of vesicles with a core of electron-dense material. Innervation of adipose tissue was similar in 70-, 90-, and 110-day-old fetuses. Examination of fetuses decapitated at 45 days of gestation and removed at 110 days showed that adrenergic innervation was absent in adipose tissue of decapitated fetuses. Adrenergic innervation was also absent in adipose tissue from fetuses hypophysectomized at 72-73 days of gestation and examined at 110 days. These data indicate that fetal porcine adipose tissue may be under neural control by day 70 of gestation. Furthermore, an intact pituitary is necessary for the development of adrenergic innervation in fetal adipose tissue.  相似文献

Catecholamines and acetylcholinesterase were determined by histochemical methods in neurons of the intramural plexus of the cat urinary bladder. The ganglia of this plexus were found to differ in the number of neurons they contained (from five to 150 cells). Adrenergic, cholinergic, and mixed ganglia exist. Division of the pelvic nerves increased the catecholamine content in adrenergic neurons and fibers and reduced acetylcholinesterase activity. Division of the hypogastric nerves has no effect on the catecholamine level and acetylcholinesterase activity in ganglia of the intramural plexus of the urinary bladder.Institute of Physiology, Academy of Sciences of the Belorussian SSR, Minsk. The pattern of distribution of cholinergic and adrenergic nerves in the uterus of albino rats and guinea pigs was examined histochemically. In the albino rat, the uterus was found well-innervated by both adrenergic and cholinergic nerves with a clear regional variation. Dense innervation was demonstrated at the tubal and cervical ends of the uterus and in the cervix. Cholinergic nerves supplying the glands were more numerous than the adrenergic nerves which were relatively few. In the guinea-pigs, the uterus was richly innervated by adrenergic nerves with a clear regional variation. No cholinesterase-positive nerves or nerve cells were demonstrated.  相似文献

Adrenergic innervation has been investigated by fluorescent histochemical method with glyoxylic acid. Adrenergic fibers were found in summer period on the arterioles with a diameter varying from 100 to 30 micron, their fluorescence being significantly lower than that in the vessels of microcirculatory bed of the mesentery, tongue, femoral muscles of the same animal. No adrenergic fibers were revealed on the arterioles with a smaller diameter, on veins and venules. In winter period, fluorescence is completely absent from all the vessels of the cheek pouch, which may be due to the decrease in the level of catecholamines in the nerves and other tissues during hibernation.  相似文献

Summary The sympathetic innervation of the urinary tract of young adult (4 months) and aged (24+ months) rats has been examined by glyoxylic acid-induced fluorescence for the detection of noradrenaline and by immunofluorescence using antisera against tyrosine hydroxylase (TH) and neuropeptide Y (NPY). Immunostaining for calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), known to be present in pelvic sensory nerves, was also performed. Semi-quantitative estimations of nerve densities were made of noradrenergic and peptidergic fibres innervating the smooth musculature of the ureter, bladder and urethra, and of the urinary tract vasculature. In the aged rats the overall patterns of innervation remained unchanged. However, with the exception of the vesical vasculature, the density of noradrenergic innervation decreased as did the intensity of histofluorescence. A similar pattern of results was observed by TH and NPY immunofluorescence. The results present evidence for a diminution in the sympathetic control of the urinary tract in aged rats. The pattern and density of CGRP-immunoreactive nerves was unchanged in the aged animals suggesting that pelvic visceral sensory innervation is more resistant to the effects of advancing age.  相似文献

Summary The anatomy and intrinsic innervation of the colon, rectum, internal anal sphincter, ano-coccygeus and recto-coccygeus have been studied in the cat with cholinesterase and catecholamine-fluorescence histochemical techniques. A variable pattern of intrinsic innervation by acetylcholinesterase-positive and adrenergic nerves along the length of the large bowel is described and is related to segmental variations in motor activity. A variation in the distribution of non-specific cholinesterase within the muscle layers is also described. Adrenergic nerves in proximal colon are arranged in the usual peri-ganglionic manner but there is also a rich direct adrenergic innervation of the longitudinal muscle in distal colon and rectum, and of circular muscle in lower rectum and internal anal sphincter. This distribution has not been reported in other species. Direct adrenergic innervation of muscle cells has been confirmed at ultrastructural level after treatment with 5-hydroxydopamine. Adrenergic neurones have not been detected in cat bowel. The ano- and recto-coccygeus muscles and internal anal sphincter possess a dense innervation of adrenergic and cholinesterase-positive nerves. It is suggested that the variation in intrinsic innervation along the large bowel should be considered in the interpretation of pharmacological and physiological experiments on this part of the gut. This work was supported by a grant from the King's College Hospital Voluntary Research Trust. The presence of adrenergic innervation was investigated in four different vascular segments of the neotenic tiger salamander, Ambystoma tigrinum, by histofluorescent staining for catecholamines. The segments were the respiratory section of the gill, the branchial shunt vessels, a vascular plexus in the pulmonary artery, and the dorsal aorta. No adrenergic fibers were detected in the respiratory section of the gill or the pulmonary arterial plexus. In contrast, the branchial shunt vessels contained both adrenergic varicosities and catecholamine-containing cell bodies. These cells resemble Type I cells of the mammalian carotid body and amphibian carotid labyrinth. Adrenergic innervation of the dorsal aorta was sparse and restricted to the adventitia. The results suggest that adrenergic nerves may directly regulate blood flow in the gill, and thus gas exchange, by controlling vascular resistance of the branchial shunts. The contractile state of the dorsal aorta may also be under adrenergic control. In addition, it is suggested that the adrenergic cells of the branchial shunts may serve a receptor function in being sensitive to arterial blood gases.  相似文献

Summary The adrenergic innervation of the juxtaglomerular complex was studied in kidneys from mice, rats, guinea-pigs, rabbits, cats, dogs, pigs, monkeys, and humans using fluorescence histochemistry of neuronal nor-adrenaline and autoradiography of 3H-noradrenaline. The localization of the nerves was established by phase contrast optics or by perfusing the vascular system with India ink. Adrenergic nerve terminals, exhibiting a formaldehyde-induced fluorescence and having the ability to take up and accumulate 3H-noradrenaline, were easily identified when they enclosed the glomerular afferent arteriole. They continued in between and close to the macula densa and lacis cells to supply the glomerular efferent arteriole. The nerves could be seen to accompany this arteriole for a considerable distance until they branched off to the vasa recta in the juxtamedullary region and to adjacent cortical veins. This innervation pattern was found to be a constant feature except in kidneys from guinea-pigs and cats, in which post-glomerular adrenergic nerves were not found in some of the superficial glomerular units. The fluorescence in all adrenergic fibres supplying the juxtaglomerular complex disappeared after removal of the aortico-renal ganglion, showing that they belong to a common system of renal sympathetic nerves. This work is dedicated to Professor Wolfgang Bargmann in honour of his seventieth birthday, January 26, 1976  相似文献

The course of the cholinergic and adrenergic nerve fibers in the cervix of the ewe was investigated in nonpregnant and pregnant animals using an acetylcholinesterase method and fluorescence histochemistry. Both technics in nonpregnant animals revealed a rich network of acetylcholinesterase and norepinephrine positive nerves around the blood vessels while the muscular innervation was moderately positive. Acetylcholinesterase fibers were also concentrated beneath the surface epithelium forming a plexus-like arrangement where isolated ganglion cells could be seen. At mid pregnancy cholinergic and adrenergic fibers decreased in density. The intensity of fluorescence was weaker and nerve fiber morphology was modified. We endeavoured to relate our findings to the problem of the neural control of contractions and the opening of the cervix of the ewe which is poorly supplied in nerve fibers, particularly at mid pregnancy.  相似文献
