Abstract The effects of artificial and solar UV-B radiation on the gravitactic (formerly called geotactic) orientation of the freshwater dinoflagellate Peridinium gatunense were measured under artificial UV-B radiation and in a temperature-controlled growth chamber under solar radiation in Portugal. Circular histograms of gravitaxis show the impairement of orientation after UV irradiation. The degree of orientation, quantified using the Rayleigh test and top quadrant summation, decreased as the exposure time to the radiation prolonged. The effects of artifical UV-B radiation on orientation are stronger than those of solar radiation, probably because the radiation source emits higher fluence rates below 300 nm than found in solar radiation. After UV radiation, the gravitactic orientation under artificially increased acceleration at 2 g was drastically affected.  相似文献

目的:探讨鸦胆子油乳联合放疗治疗鼻咽癌的临床疗效及安全性。方法:将在我科就诊的154例鼻咽癌患者随机分为对照组和治疗组,治疗组患者在常规放射治疗的基础上联合鸦胆子油乳治疗,而对照组患者单纯接受常规放射治疗。待治疗结束后,观察并比较两组患者的临床疗效、血液学指标及不良反应的发生情况。结果:对照组和治疗组的临床有效率分别为63.16%、82.05%,治疗组的临床有效率明显高于对照组,两组间比较有统计学差异(P0.05)。治疗后,治疗组患者的血液学指标如白细胞计数、红细胞计数、血红蛋白水平、CD4+/CD8+等均显著高于对照组,不良反应如恶心呕吐、张口困难、吞咽困难、声音嘶哑、口腔炎均明显低于对照组,差异具有统计学意义(P0.05)。结论:鸦胆子油乳联合放射治疗能够有效提高鼻咽癌患者的临床疗效,并且降低放疗所致的各种不良反应,值得临床推广应用。  相似文献

The Cambrian radiation is that key episode in the history oflife when a large number of animal phyla appeared in the fossilrecord over a geologically short period of time. Over the last20 years, scientific understanding of this radiation has increasedsignificantly. Still, fundamental questions remain about thetiming of the radiation and also the tempo of evolution. Trilobitesare an excellent group to address these questions because oftheir rich abundance and diversity. Moreover, their complexmorphology makes them readily amenable to phylogenetic analysis,and deducing the nature of macroevolutionary processes duringthe Cambrian radiation requires an understanding of evolutionarypatterns. Phylogenetic biogeographic analysis of Early Cambrianolenellid trilobites, based on a modified version of BrooksParsimony Analysis, revealed the signature of the breakup ofPannotia, a tectonic event that most evidence suggests is constrainedto the interval 600 to 550 Ma. As trilobites are derived metazoans,this suggests the phylogenetic proliferation associated withthe Cambrian radiation was underway tens of millions of yearsbefore the Early Cambrian, although not hundreds of millionsof years as some have argued. Phylogenetic information from Early Cambrian olenellid trilobiteswas also used in a stochastic approach based on two continuoustime models to test the hypothesis that rates of speciationwere unusually high during the Cambrian radiation. No statisticalevidence was found to support this hypothesis. Instead, ratesof evolution during the Cambrian radiation, at least those pertainingto speciation, were comparable to those that have occurred duringother times of adaptive or taxic radiation throughout the historyof life.  相似文献

Current information is presented in the paper concerning the biological indication of radiation effects within a wide range of doses. The radiobiological phenomena that lay the basis for the development of methods of diagnosis of radiation injury are discussed. Basic requirements to biological indicators and principles of elaboration of the system of laboratory diagnosis of radiation injury are reported. A new classification of biological indicators of radiation affection based on the principles of pathogenesis is proposed. The informativeness of the diagnosis methods available is evaluated and the directions, which the search for new biological indications of radiation effect should follow, are outlined.  相似文献

The electron microscopic investigation of the sensomotor zone in the cerebral cortex of mature male rats after total neutron and gamma radiation of high doses has demonstrated, that during first three hours after the influence the dynamics of ultrastructural changes in neurons, glial elements and microcirculatory bed depends on the radiation dose. After gamma radiation of 150 Gy, destructive changes in neurons, increased permiability of blood capillaries and development of perivascular edema are noted at earlier time than after radiation dose of 10 Gy. When the greater dose of radiation is used, also earlier reaction of the barrier structures in the brain is observed.  相似文献

The influence of ionizing radiation (gamma-rays 60Co) on aggregation activity of the vascular wall and functional (aggregation) platelet activity was studied in the course of the development of acute radiation sickness. The decrease in the aggregation properties of the vascular wall and high functional activity of platelets were inversely proportional, correlating with the periods of acute radiation sickness development and depending on the radiation dose. It is suggested that the changes detected may play a role in the pathogenesis of the development of the postirradiation thrombohemorrhagic syndrome.  相似文献

Whether natural radiation can be a conditioning factor for the growth and survival of a living organism was investigated using diploid yeast S. cerevisiae D7. Yeast cells were conditioned by growing them continuously for at least 100 generation in 3 different radiation background such as i) ambient radiation (1.1 mSv/y), ii) sub-ambient radiation (0.44 mSv/y, within a shielded chamber) and iii) an elevated background radiation (88 and 880 mSv/y in a gamma-field). At the end, the cells were challenged with 60Co gamma, 100 Gy and the viable fractions were determined. Conditioning the cells in 880 mSv/y and in ambient radiation, enabled the cells to reduce the deleterious effect of the challenging dose significantly (P < 0.05) compared to that of sub-ambient radiation. The cellular viability of yeast cultures seems to be influenced by the prevailing radiation background, apart from starvation. Comparatively, a rapid decline in viability was noticed when the cultures were incubated for 60 days in the shielded chamber. The results indicate that some amount of radiation equivalent to background level or little above is needed to confer fitness in biological systems against stress factors, including radiation. The adaptive dose for the diploid yeast was also determined by single exposure. The priming dose ranged from 0.01 to 1.2 Gy. An adaptive dose of 0.25 or 0.4 Gy, almost nullified the deleterious effect of the challenging dose. The adaptive response may have a greater role in the field of cancer therapy and in radiation risk assessment. Understanding the response of an organism at different radiation-background will be helpful for successful space management.  相似文献

Efforts at protecting people against the harmful effects of radiation had their beginnings in the early 1900s with the intent of protecting individuals in medicine and associated professions. Such efforts remain vital for all of us more than 100 years later as part of our 'learning to live with ionizing radiation.' The field of radiation protection has evolved slowly over time with advances in knowledge on hereditary (i.e., genetic) and carcinogenic effects of radiation continually improving our ability to make informed judgments about how best to balance risks against benefits of radiation exposure. This paper examines just one aspect of these efforts, namely, how advances in knowledge of genetic effects of radiation have impacted on the recommendations of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). The focus is on the period from the mid-1950s (when genetic risk estimates were first made) to 2007. This article offers a detailed historical analysis and personal perspective, and concludes with a synopsis of key developments in radiation protection.  相似文献

Hormetic and adaptive responses induced by low-level radiation in hematopoietic and immune systems have been observed, as shown by stimulatory effects on cell growth and resistance to subsequent radiation-induced cytogenetic damage. However, in terms of cell death by apoptosis, the effects of low-level radiation are controversial: Some studies showed decreased apoptosis in response to low-level radiation while others showed increased apoptosis. This controversy may be related to the radiation doses or dose rates and also, more importantly, to the cell types. Testes are one of the most radiosensitive organs. The loss of male germ cells after exposure to ionizing radiation has been attributed to apoptosis. In the present study, the effects of low-level radiation at doses up to 200 mGy on mouse male germ cells in terms of apoptosis and the expression of apoptosis-related proteins were examined at different times after whole-body exposure of mice to low-level radiation. In addition, the effect of pre-exposure to low-level radiation on subsequent cell death induced by high doses of radiation was examined to explore the possibility of low-level radiation-induced adaptive response. The results showed that low-level radiation in the dose range of 25-200 mGy induced significant increases in apoptosis in both spermatogonia and spermatocytes, with the maximal effect at 75 mGy. The increased apoptosis is most likely associated with Trp53 protein expression. Furthermore, 75 mGy low-level radiation given pre-irradiation led to an adaptive response of seminiferous germ cells to subsequent high-level radiation-induced apoptosis. These results suggest that low-level radiation induces increased apoptosis in male germ cells but also induces a significant adaptive response that decreases cell death after a subsequent high-dose irradiation.  相似文献

利用CMP11(含遮光环)、SPN1和RSR3 3种辐射测定仪器,于2012年3-6月在中国科学院千烟洲红壤丘陵试验站开展总辐射和散射辐射的平行对比观测.结果表明: 不同辐射仪测定的总辐射和散射辐射都有很好的线性相关关系;相对于CMP11而言,SPN1和RSR3测定的总辐射分别低3.0%和20.5%;对于测定的散射辐射,SPN1和RSR3较CMP11的观测结果分别低5.5%和7.9%;在晴朗、多云、阴天3种天气条件下,各仪器测量的散射辐射日变化一致,并且在不同太阳高度角下观测的散射辐射结果相似.不同仪器测量的日尺度散射辐射随时间的累积存在一定差异,3、4、5月的月尺度散射分数分别为0.56、0.59和0.70.在我国南方中亚热带地区,散射辐射在太阳总辐射中占据了较大比例,并且随时间变化存在明显的变化特征.有必要对其开展长期连续测定,以准确把握其长期的动态变化特征.  相似文献

A methodological approach is described for a comparative assessment of ionizing radiation effects on man and biota, based on the use of indices of radiation impact--ratios of actual exposure doses to environmental objects (including humans) and critical ones. As such doses, standards limiting radiation exposure and doses at which phenotypical effects were absent after the Chernobyl accident were employed, respectively for man and biota. For the test site chosen within the 30 km ChNPP zone (region of the Borshchovka settlement), dose burdens to reference biota species and the population (with and without evacuation) and the corresponding radiation impact indices were calculated. For the long term period after the accident radiation safety standards for man are shown to ensure radiation safety for biota as well. At the same time in the early period after the accident the emergency regulations do not guarantee adequate protection of nature, some species of which can be subject to irradiation more than man, even if countermeasures like evacuation are not applied. A conclusion has been made on the necessity of a more detailed and comprehensive analysis of situations when the anthropocentric principle "if radiation standards protect man then biota are also adequately protected" is violated.  相似文献

目的:探索了解手机辐射对大肠杆菌生长与繁殖的影响。方法:用不同型号的手机以通话方式对大肠杆菌进行辐射,检测大肠杆菌培养后的茵落的大小和数量,比较实验组与对照组的差异。结果:对照组与手机辐射组茵落数量相近,经统计学分析,两组菌落数差别无显著性,但是经手机辐射后,菌落的直径大于对照组,不同型号的手机之间也有差别,且差别有显著性(P〈0.05)。结论:手机辐射对大肠杆菌生长可能有影响,但其具体机制还有待进一步的研究进行阐明。  相似文献

地表辐射对研究地表能量平衡及气候形成机制具有重要意义。利用中天山乌拉斯台地区陆气相互作用观测站2018年5月至2019年4月地表辐射数据,分析了中天山草地不同时间尺度和不同天气条件下的地表辐射与反照率变化特征。结果表明:(1)地表辐射月平均日变化除大气长波辐射较弱外,其余分量均呈单峰型,极值大小及时间存在差异,太阳总辐射与净辐射最大日峰值均出现在6月,为920.9与603.3 W/m~2,大气与地表长波辐射分别出现在7月和8月,为327.5 W/m~2与471.7 W/m~2,而反射短波辐射则出现在2月,为520.6 W/m~2。(2)太阳总辐射、反射短波辐射、大气与地表长波辐射年曝辐量分别为6860.62、2101.72、7171.25、10089.69 MJ/m~2;就季节变化而言,反射短波辐射曝辐量在冬季明显高于其它季节,其它分量则均表现为夏季>春季>秋季>冬季。(3)不同月份地表反照率日变化均呈“U”型曲线,年均值为0.393,最大与最小月均值分别出现在12月与8月,为0.760与0.217。这种变化体现在季节上则为冬季>秋季>春季>夏季。(...  相似文献

Rapid radiation injury early triage for large-scale people after radiation exposure is vital for limited medical resources allocation and early treatment of a large number of wounded after a nuclear accident. Owing to the high-throughput analysis and minimally invasive of collection sample, radiation metabolomics has been recently applied to radiation damage researches. Here, exploration the feasibility of estimating the acute radiation injury early triage by means of plasma amino acid target analysis was attempted using high performance liquid chromatography–electrospray tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC–ESI–MS/MS) technique. The nonlinear kernel partial least squares (KPLS) model was used to classify the radiation damage levels. The classification accuracy of without radiation exposure was 92.3 % at 5 h after exposure. At 24 h after exposure, the triage accuracies were all above 83 % in the different doses of irradiated groups, the correct classification rates of moderate and severe radiation injury were 91.7 and 92.3 % respectively. At 72 h after exposure, the classification accuracies of all levels of radiation injury were more than 90 %, the correct classification rates of moderate and severe groups were up to 100 %. This approach is useful for early predicting different levels of radiation exposure and for developing metabolomics strategies for radiation biodosimetry in humans, but need more data to consummate.  相似文献

On rats and dogs exposed to absolute lethal doses of X-irradiation (rats--10, 12 Gy; dogs--15 Gy sublethally) it has been shown that novocaini injection to animals immediately after radiation exposure reduces the primary radiation reaction and at the same time shifts the changes in morphofunctional state of peripheric blood on 24 hours, reduces the symptoms of acute radiation sickness, increases the average life length of the animals on 1,5 days. A conclusion concerning the expressed therapeutic influence of intraperitoneal novocaini injection immediately after radiation has been drawn.  相似文献

Adaptive radiation is usually triggered by ecological opportunity, arising through (i) the colonization of a new habitat by its progenitor; (ii) the extinction of competitors; or (iii) the emergence of an evolutionary key innovation in the ancestral lineage. Support for the key innovation hypothesis is scarce, however, even in textbook examples of adaptive radiation. Antifreeze glycoproteins (AFGPs) have been proposed as putative key innovation for the adaptive radiation of notothenioid fishes in the ice-cold waters of Antarctica. A crucial prerequisite for this assumption is the concurrence of the notothenioid radiation with the onset of Antarctic sea ice conditions. Here, we use a fossil-calibrated multi-marker phylogeny of nothothenioid and related acanthomorph fishes to date AFGP emergence and the notothenioid radiation. All time-constraints are cross-validated to assess their reliability resulting in six powerful calibration points. We find that the notothenioid radiation began near the Oligocene-Miocene transition, which coincides with the increasing presence of Antarctic sea ice. Divergence dates of notothenioids are thus consistent with the key innovation hypothesis of AFGP. Early notothenioid divergences are furthermore congruent with vicariant speciation and the breakup of Gondwana.  相似文献

The aquatic liverwort Jungermannia exsertifolia subsp. cordifolia was cultivated for 15 d under controlled conditions to study the single and combined effects of cadmium and enhanced ultraviolet (UV) radiation. Both cadmium and UV radiation caused chlorophyll degradation and a decrease in the maximum quantum yield of photosystem II (PSII), together with an increase in the mechanisms of non-photochemical dissipation of energy (increase in the xanthophyll index). Cadmium was more stressing than UV radiation, since the metal also influenced photosynthesis globally and caused a decrease in net photosynthetic rates, in the effective quantum yield of photosynthetic energy conversion of PSII, and in the maximal apparent electron transport rate through PSII. Ultraviolet radiation increased the level of trans-p-coumaroylmalic acid and cadmium increased trans-phaselic and feruloylmalic acids. The increase in these compounds was probably related to both a more efficient absorption of harmful UV radiation and an enhanced protection against oxidative stress. DNA damage was specifically caused by UV-B radiation, but was intensified under the presence of cadmium, probably because the metal impairs the DNA enzymatic repair mechanisms. Ultraviolet radiation and cadmium seemed to operate additively on some physiological processes, while other responses were probably due to either factor alone.  相似文献

内照射剂量的估算在剂量防护中是十分重要的。对居民由于食入大亚湾核污染海洋生物所导致的内照射剂量给出一个评价方法是十分必要的。在对潮流污染扩散进行数值模拟的基础上,得出放射性核素浓度场的分布,进一步给出一个内照射剂量估算方法。根据这一估算方法,可以简便的估算出每个居民由于食入大亚湾海洋生物所致的辐射剂量。估算结果表明,每人每年由于食入大亚湾海洋生物所导致的内照射剂量在10-6~10-9Sv之间,低于人类每年人均受到的本底辐射。  相似文献
