North-Central China is a region in which the air temperature has clearly increased for several decades. Picea meyeri and Larix principis-rupprechtii are the most dominant co-occurring tree species within the cold coniferous forest belt ranging vertically from 1800 m to 2800 m a.s.l. in this region. Based on a tree-ring analysis of 292 increment cores sampled from 146 trees at different elevations, this study aimed to examine if the radial growth of the two species in response to climate is similar, whether the responses are consistent along altitudinal gradients and which species might be favored in the future driven by the changing climate. The results indicated the following: (1) The two species grew in different rhythms at low and high elevation respectively; (2) Both species displayed inconsistent relationships between radial growth and climate data along altitudinal gradients. The correlation between radial growth and the monthly mean temperature in the spring or summer changed from negative at low elevation into positive at high elevation, whereas those between the radial growth and the total monthly precipitation displayed a change from positive into negative along the elevation gradient. These indicate the different influences of the horizontal climate and vertical mountainous climate on the radial growth of the two species; (3) The species-dependent different response to climate in radial growth appeared mainly in autumn of the previous year. The radial growth of L. principis-rupprechtii displayed negative responses both to temperature and to precipitation in the previous September, October or November, which was not observed in the radial growth of P. meyeri. (4) The radial growth of both species will tend to be increased at high elevation and limited at low elevation, and L. principis-rupprechtii might be more favored in the future, if the temperature keeps rising. 相似文献

The radial growth of conifer trees proceeds from the dynamics of a merismatic tissue called vascular cambium or cambium. Cambium
is a thin layer of active proliferating cells. The purpose of this paper was to model the main characteristics of cambial
activity and its consecutive radial growth. Cell growth is under the control of the auxin hormone indole-3-acetic. The model
is composed of a discrete part, which accounts for cellular proliferation, and a continuous part involving the transport of
auxin. Cambium is modeled in a two-dimensional cross-section by a cellular automaton that describes the set of all its constitutive
cells. Proliferation is defined as growth and division of cambial cells under neighbouring constraints, which can eliminate
some cells from the cambium. The cell-growth rate is determined from auxin concentration, calculated with the continuous model.
We studied the integration of each elementary cambial cell activity into the global coherent movement of macroscopic morphogenesis.
Cases of normal and abnormal growth of Pinus radiata (D. Don) are modelled. Abnormal growth includes deformed trees where gravity influences auxin transport, producing heterogeneous
radial growth. Cross-sectional microscopic views are also provided to validate the model's hypothesis and results. 相似文献

以塔里木河干流荒漠河岸胡杨(Populuseuphratica)为研究对象,在塔里木河干流河道上游和中游选择帕满水库和坎白尔吾斯坦2个断面,分析胡杨径向生长的特点。根据不同断面的河道径流数据,采用小波分析和相关性分析方法研究塔里木河胡杨径向生长随径流动态变化的响应。结果表明,帕满水库-新其满断面,胡杨基部断面生长增量(BAI)与径流在15–24年时间尺度上都发生震荡,且径流震荡年份要早于基部断面生长增量震荡年份。坎白尔吾斯坦-英巴扎断面,胡杨BAI与径流在10–20年时间尺度上都发生震荡,BAI震荡周期出现时间较晚。在塔里木河干流沿岸,径流是胡杨径向生长的主要限制因素之一。上游帕满水库断面,胡杨BAI与前一年11月至当年3月的径流量呈显著相关;中游坎白尔吾斯坦断面,胡杨BAI与前一年12月至当年3月的径流量呈显著相关。塔里木河不同河段胡杨BAI对径流变化响应的敏感度存在差异。研究表明,塔里木河上游采样区胡杨生长良好,所对应的最佳径流达1.3340×10~8 m~3;塔里木河中游采样区胡杨径向生长的最合理径流量的范围为0.380 3×10~8–1.205 6×10~8 m~3。 相似文献

Climate change is expected to alter biotic interactions, and may lead to temporal and spatial mismatches of interacting species. Although the importance of interactions for climate change risk assessments is increasingly acknowledged in observational and experimental studies, biotic interactions are still rarely incorporated in species distribution models. We assessed the potential impacts of climate change on the obligate interaction between Aeshna viridis and its egg-laying plant Stratiotes aloides in Europe, based on an ensemble modelling technique. We compared three different approaches for incorporating biotic interactions in distribution models: (1) We separately modelled each species based on climatic information, and intersected the future range overlap (‘overlap approach’). (2) We modelled the potential future distribution of A. viridis with the projected occurrence probability of S. aloides as further predictor in addition to climate (‘explanatory variable approach’). (3) We calibrated the model of A. viridis in the current range of S. aloides and multiplied the future occurrence probabilities of both species (‘reference area approach’). Subsequently, all approaches were compared to a single species model of A. viridis without interactions. All approaches projected a range expansion for A. viridis. Model performance on test data and amount of range gain differed depending on the biotic interaction approach. All interaction approaches yielded lower range gains (up to 667% lower) than the model without interaction. Regarding the contribution of algorithm and approach to the overall uncertainty, the main part of explained variation stems from the modelling algorithm, and only a small part is attributed to the modelling approach. The comparison of the no-interaction model with the three interaction approaches emphasizes the importance of including obligate biotic interactions in projective species distribution modelling. We recommend the use of the ‘reference area approach’ as this method allows a separation of the effect of climate and occurrence of host plant. 相似文献

In 2016, an outbreak of anthrax killing thousands of reindeer and affecting dozens of humans occurred on the Yamal peninsula, Northwest Siberia, after 70 years of epidemiological situation without outbreaks. The trigger of the outbreak has been ascribed to the activation of spores due to permafrost thaw that was accelerated during the summer heat wave. The focus of our study is on the dynamics of local environmental factors in connection with the observed anthrax revival. We show that permafrost was thawing rapidly for already 6 years before the outbreak. During 2011–2016, relatively warm years were followed by cold years with a thick snow cover, preventing freezing of the soil. Furthermore, the spread of anthrax was likely intensified by an extremely dry summer of 2016. Concurrent with the long-term decreasing trend in the regional annual precipitation, the rainfall in July 2016 was less than 10% of its 30-year mean value. We conclude that epidemiological situation of anthrax in the previously contaminated Arctic regions requires monitoring of climatic factors such as warming and precipitation extremes. 相似文献

为研究乌苏和石河子地区雪岭云杉(Picea schrenkiana)径向生长对气候变暖的响应差异状况,利用响应函数及滑动相关分析等树轮气候学方法,研究了2个地区森林下限雪岭云杉径向生长与气候因子的响应关系。结果表明:乌苏和石河子地区雪岭云杉生长均与生长季的气候因子呈显著相关关系。但乌苏和石河子地区雪岭云杉生长对当地气候因子的响应也存在差异,乌苏地区雪岭云杉径向生长与上一年7、9月平均气温呈显著负相关,与当年8月降水、上一年9月及当年8月平均相对湿度和上一年7~10月的scPDSI呈显著正相关。石河子地区雪岭云杉径向生长与当年1月平均湿度和当年1、2月的scPDSI呈显著正相关。此外,乌苏地区树轮宽度指数具有与温度升高而下降的“分离现象”,而石河子地区树轮宽度指数具有与温度升高相一致的趋势。升温导致的水分胁迫是造成乌苏地区雪岭云杉径向生长与温度变化趋势相反的重要因素。生长季的温度和降水的增加对石河子地区雪岭云杉径向生长有促进作用。乌苏地区雪岭云杉径向生长对5~7月平均气温和降水量变化敏感性上升;石河子地区雪岭云杉径向生长对5~7月降水量变化敏感性上升,而对5~7月平均气温变化敏感性下降。结果显示,气候变化的区域差异是造成乌苏和石河子地区雪岭云杉径向生长趋势不同以及各年表序列对温度和降水变化敏感性变化的主要气候因素。 相似文献

Tracheid diameter, wall thickness, and wall area per tracheidincreased towards the root tip in first-year seedlings of Piceasitchensis and Pinus sylvestris; this is shown to be associatedwith differences in duration of the expansion and wall thickeningphases of tracheid development. Transfer to short days producesa similar response throughout the plant, tracheid diameter andwall thickness decreasing shortly after transfer, due to a declinein rate of development. These data are discussed in relationto growth-regulator gradients likely to exist between root andshoot. Populus euphratlca Olve. is a dominant tree species in Ejlnaa Oasis of the lower reaches of the Helhe River, inner Mongolia, China. In recent years, the population of this species has shown signs of degradation that are suggested to be probably associated with the decrease of surface water. In this study, the history of river runoff In this region was examined with a dendrochronological study of P. euphratica from four sites. It Is found that tree-ring widths In the all sites have negative correlation with runoffs of all months at the Zhengylxla hydrological station. Principal component (PC) analysis of the tree-ring chronologies shows that the first PC (PC1) accounts for 49.98% of the total variances. The first PC Is found to have a significantly negative correlation with runoffs In March and April (- 0.52 and - 0.43, respectively, P 〈 0.05). 分别将马尾松(Pinus massoniana)、黧蒴(Castanopsis fissa)、荷木(Schima superba)、黄果厚壳桂(Cryptocarya concinna)的幼苗置于100%自然光和32%自然光下生长6个月,测定它们的光强-光合反应曲线和叶绿素荧光的某些参数。结果表明,在100%光下,马尾松有最高的最大光合速率(Pmax)、光饱和点(LSP)、光补偿点(LCP)、暗呼吸(Rd)、表观量子效率(AQY)和总电子传递速率(JF),光化学猝灭(qP)也最大。而黄果厚壳棒有最大的分配到光呼吸的电子流比率(JO/JF)。100%光下AQY的大小顺序为:马尾松〉黧蒴〉荷木〉黄果厚壳桂,32%光下AQY的顺序则相反。这说明群落早期演替的先锋树种马尾松属于强阳生性树种,具有适应强光的特点,而处于群落演替项级阶段的优势种黄果厚壳梓则能更加充分利用低光生长环境中的光强,同时也可通过提高电子流向光呼吸分配的比例来避免自然光环境中强光的伤害。 相似文献

为了解全球升温背景下我国亚热带地区树木生长对气候变化的响应,基于树木年轮学方法,在湖南莽山建立不同海拔(1 400、1 200、1 000 m)华南五针松( Pinus kwangtungensis)标准年表,利用响应分析和单年分析研究其径向生长与气候因子的相关关系。结果表明,海拔1 400 m处华南五针松的径向生长与当年6月均温和最高温显著负相关,与当年4月的降水量呈显著正相关关系;海拔1 200 m处的径向生长与当年3月均温及上年和当年10月均温、最低温显著正相关,与当年7月的最低温显著负相关,与上年11月降水量呈显著正相关关系;海拔1 000 m处的径向生长与当年6月均温、最高温和当年1月的平均温、最低温以及上年10月的最低温显著负相关,与当年3月、上年10月和当年10月的降水呈显著正相关关系。温度和降水共同影响着该地区华南五针松的径向生长,生长季初期的温度和降水以及夏季温度是影响其生长的关键气候因子。 相似文献

Callus cultures of Siberian larch ( Larix sibiricaLedeb.) and Siberian spruce ( Picea obovataLedeb.) were used to demonstrate the elicitor activity of two ophiostomatoid fungal species, Ceratocystis laricicolaand Ceratocystis polonica, as the pioneer settlers on larch and spruce, respectively. The extract from C. laricicolamycelium stimulated the accumulation of lignin in larch cells by 37% and that of bound proanthocyanidins by 25%. In spruce callus cultures, C. laricicolaand C. polonicaincreased the bound PA content by 25 and 46%, respectively. In the callus cultures of larch and spruce, the addition of extract of C. laricicolaincreased the concentration of p-hydroxybenzoic acid 13-fold and nearly 4-fold, respectively. The metabolic characteristics of accumulation of phenolic compounds in conifer cells are discussed. 相似文献

The effect of morphological variants of females of Pratylenchus penetrans, P. neglectus, and P. crenatus on the growth of three vegetables was studied. Variants were characterized by having either a smooth or crenate tail terminus. Pea was inoculated with variants of P. penetrans, one female per seedling, and grown at light intensities ranging from 1,350 to 21,600 lux in a series of five experiments. Only crenate-tailed females of P. penetrans suppressed the growth of pea and only when pea was grown at 3,900 lux. Radish was inoculated with morphological variants of P. penetrans, P. neglectus, and P. crenatus, four females per seedling, and grown at 3,900 lux in two experiments. Again, truly creuate-tailed females of P. penetrans inhibited growth. The two variants of P. penetrans had a similar infectivity, greater than that of the other two species of Pratylenchus. Only crenate-tailed P. penetrans reproduced on radish. Onion was inoculated with variants of P. penetrans and P. crenatus, four females per seedling, and grown at 14 C at 12,900 lux. Again, only crenate-tailed P. penetrans inhibited growth. The variants of P. penetrans had a similar infectivity, greater than that of P. crenatus. An appraisal of Paleogene floral and land mammal faunal dynamics in South America suggests that both biotic elements responded at rate and extent generally comparable to that portrayed by the global climate pattern of the interval. A major difference in the South American record is the initial as well as subsequent much greater diversity of both Neotropical and Austral floras relative to North American counterparts. Conversely, the concurrent mammal faunas in South America did not match, much less exceed, the diversity seen to the north. It appears unlikely that this difference is solely due to the virtual absence of immigrants subsequent to the initial dispersal of mammals to South America, and cannot be explained solely by the different collecting histories of the two regions. Possible roles played by non-mammalian vertebrates in niche exploitation remain to be explored. The Paleogene floras of Patagonia and Chile show a climatic pattern that approximates that of North America, with an increase in both Mean Annual Temperature (MAT) and Mean Annual Precipitation (MAP) from the Paleocene into the Early Eocene Climatic Optimum (EECO), although the Paleocene-Eocene Thermal Maximum (PETM) is not recognized in the available data set. Post-EECO temperatures declined in both regions, but more so in the north than the south, which also retained a higher rate of precipitation. The South American Paleogene mammal faunas developed gradual, but distinct, changes in composition and diversity as the EECO was approached, but actually declined somewhat during its peak, contrary to the record in North America. At about 40 Ma, a post-EECO decline was recovered in both hemispheres, but the South American record achieved its greatest diversity then, rather than at the peak of the EECO as in the north. This post-EECO faunal turnover apparently was a response to the changing conditions when global climate was deteriorating toward the Oligocene. Under the progressively more temperate to seasonally arid conditions in South America, this turnover reflected a major change from the more archaic, and more tropical to subtropical-adapted mammals, to the beginning of the ultimately modern South American fauna, achieved completely by the Eocene-Oligocene transition. Interestingly, hypsodonty was achieved by South American cursorial mammals about 15–20 m.y. earlier than in North America. In addition to being composed of essentially different groups of mammals, those of the South American continent seem to have responded to the climatic changes associated with the ECCO and subsequent conditions in a pattern that was initially comparable to, but subsequently different from, their North American counterparts. 相似文献

The forest-steppe ecotone in southern Siberia is characterized by a strong dependence of tree growth on summer drought, which is expected to increase under ongoing climate change, with potential consequences for regional and global water and carbon cycles. Since climate conditions control tree secondary growth throughout the growing season, it is assumed that climate change will differently impact the formation of particular tree-ring sectors.In this study, we evaluated spatiotemporal trends in Pinus sylvestris L. tree-ring traits: tree-ring (RW), earlywood (EW) and latewood (LW) widths, as well as their climate response in order to understand potential reactions of P. sylvestris radial growth to climate change along a 4900 km longitudinal transect of increasing continentality in southern Siberia.Results indicated an increasing tree radial growth from the West to the East along the transect. Tree-ring parameters were sensitive to drought, showing a temporal delay in the climatic signals of LW (summer) relative to EW (spring). Climate control of tree growth was stronger at the western site, while it was alleviated over time in eastern sites.This study highlighted the wide plasticity of P. sylvestris to thrive within a wide range of climatic conditions, also suggesting that future drought, as predicted by climate change simulations, will potentially impact P. sylvestris growth differently along the studied gradient, being more susceptible at the western sites due to the current growth limitation. 相似文献
