Researchers have suggested that more attractive women will show stronger preferences for masculine men because such women are better placed to offset the potential costs of choosing a masculine mate. However, evidence for correlations between measures of women's own attractiveness and preferences for masculine men is mixed. Moreover, the samples used to test this hypothesis are typically relatively small. Consequently, we conducted two large-scale studies that investigated possible associations between women's preferences for facial masculinity and their own attractiveness as assessed from third-party ratings of their facial attractiveness (Study 1, N = 454, laboratory study) and self-rated attractiveness (Study 2, N = 8972, online study). Own attractiveness was positively correlated with preferences for masculine men in Study 2 (self-rated attractiveness), but not Study 1 (third-party ratings of facial attractiveness). This pattern of results is consistent with the proposal that women's beliefs about their own attractiveness, rather than their physical condition per se, underpins attractiveness-contingent masculinity preferences.  相似文献

Field tests of three synthetic sex pheromone blends (Japanese blend: Z11–18:Ald (55 μg), Z13–18:Ald (500 μg), Z11–18:OH (120 μg) and Z13–18:OH (180 μg), Indian blend: Z11–16:Ac (50 μg) and Z13–18:Ac (500 μg) and Philippine blend: Z11–16:Ac (500 μg) and Z13–18:Ac (10 μg) based on geographic variations in sex pheromones) of the rice leaffolder moth, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis Guenée (Lepidoptera: Crambidae), were conducted at Yogyakarta (Java), and at Sempidi and Penatih (Bali), Indonesia. Only the Japanese blend attracted significant numbers of male C. medinalis, while neither the Indian nor the Philippine blend showed any attractiveness to the males. In the GC–MS analysis of a crude extract from pheromone glands of female C. medinalis collected at Sanur, Bali. Indonesia, Z11–18:Ald, Z13–18:Ald, Z11–18:OH and Z13–18:OH were detected at a ratio of 10:100:26:37, and the total amount was approximately 0.8 ng/female. Neither Z11–16:Ac nor Z13–18:Ac were detected. These results suggest that C. medinalis that respond to the Japanese blend are widely distributed from Eastern Asia through Southeast Asia.  相似文献

Flatworms generally are simultaneous hermaphrodites that exhibit various kinds of mating behavior. Here we report on the mating behavior and reproductive biology of the planarian Paucumara falcata. We recognized three phases in its mating behavior: a courtship, copulation, and postcopulatory phase. During the last‐mentioned phase, the partners showed a unique and very characteristic behavior in which their bodies intertwined, forming a spiral. Histological study of partners in copula revealed that the sclerotic tip of the musculo‐parenchymatic organ pierces the body wall of the partner and then becomes lodged in its parenchyma, suggesting that this organ may act as an anchor, thus stabilizing the worms during copulation. Similar organs in other species of marine triclad may also perform a stabilizing role during copulation. During copulation in individuals of P. falcata, sperm transfer was reciprocal or only unilateral. Copulation duration ranged 13–35 min (average 20 ± 5 min), irrespective of whether the mating was successful (i.e., resulted in the production of fertile cocoons). The spiraling phase lasted on average 10 min; some worms did not show the postcopulatory spiraling phase during their mating behavior. After successful copulation, an individual worm produced 1–12 fertile cocoons over a period of 1–17 days; from a cocoon hatched either one young (in 70% of the cases), or two young worms.  相似文献

Selenium (Se) is a multifunctional trace element required in specific amounts for the optimal growth of aquatic finfish species. For this reason, this study investigated the effect of Se nanoparticles on the growth behavior, antioxidative capacity, and liver wellbeing of Striped catfish (Pangasianodon hypophthalmus). Striped catfish fed varying Se nanoparticles levels (0. 0.5, 1, and 2 mg/kg) in triplicate units and kept for 60 days. Striped catfish delivered dietary Se nanoparticles had markedly increased growth performance, specific growth rate (SGR), consumed feed, and protein efficiency ratio but reduced feed conversion ratio (FCR). The whole body, liver, muscle, and gills have higher Se accumulation levels in fish that received Se nanoparticles than the control with the highest level in fish fed 2 mg/kg. The carcass composition showed higher protein content in fish fed 1 and 2 mg/kg (p = 0.001 and 0.001) and higher ash content (p = 0.001 and 0.002) in fish fed 2 mg/kg than the remaining groups. Superoxide dismutase was meaningfully activated in Striped catfish delivered 1 and 2 mg Se nanoparticles/kg compared with the control (p < 0.05). Also, catalase and glutathione peroxidase activities were higher, and malondialdehyde level was lower in Striped catfish fed Se nanoparticles at 0.5, 1, and 2 mg/kg than the control (p < 0.05). The villi exhibited a visible increase in both height and branching with an increased level of Se nanoparticles in addition to the increased number of goblet cells. The Se nanoparticles-treated fish revealed dose-dependent modifications fluctuated from diffuse fatty vacuolization in hepatocytes with eccentric pyknotic hepatocytes nuclei. In conclusion, Se nanoparticles are required for the optimum growth behavior, antioxidative capacity, and liver wellbeing of Striped catfish. Based on SGR and FCR data's regression analysis, Se nanoparticles are recommended at 1.02–1.11 mg/kg diet.  相似文献

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the role of body fat percentage (BF%) on female attractiveness. To this end, a series of female body images were selected from a collection of dual-energy X-ray absorptiometry scans. Images were stratified by three levels (low, mid, and high) of waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) and seven levels (15%–50%) of BF%. These 21 images were presented in a random order and rated for attractiveness. Results indicate that WHR, BMI, and BF% are all significant predictors of female attractiveness when regressed separately (R2= 0.19, 0.70, and 0.76, respectively). When regressed simultaneously, all three variables accounted for 87% of the variance in image attractiveness, with only BF% and WHR being significant predictors. Further analysis revealed that body fat might disrupt the negative linear relationship between WHR and attractiveness. Men and women differed significantly in most categories of WHR and BF%, with men generally rating images as less attractive than women. These data indicate that BF% appears to be a strong cue for attractiveness and that the impact of WHR and BMI on attractiveness is dependent, in part, on BF%. The appearance of body fat may provide disruption in the visual cues of both shape and size of the female body, potentially impacting behavior.  相似文献

The purpose of the study was to determine whether peroneal reaction time is influenced by ankle’s impairment in subjects with ankle injury assessed by surface electromyography. The studies were identified by electronic research by two independent reviewers at the following databases: MEDLINE (1966–2009), EMBASE (1980–2009), LILACS (1982–2009), CINAHL (1982–2009) and, SPORTDiscus (1975–2009). Studies were divided into following groups: I – subjects with injury (paired by the opposite limb); II – subjects with or without injury (paired by limbs from different subjects) and III – subjects with or without injury (other situations). Studies that used the sudden ankle inversion test were selected. As result, 25 articles were included. The comparison of the reaction time paired by the opposite limb, showed a statistically significant difference in favor of the injured ankles (standardized mean difference – SMD = 0.40; IC 95% [0.01; 0.79], P = 0.05). The comparison paired by limbs from different subjects presented a statistically significant difference, in favor of the injured ankles (SMD = 3.49; IC 95% [1.26; 5.71], P = 0.002). The effect size measured was 0.54 and 1.61, respectively. The greater reaction time delay showed in the subjects with ankle injury compared to that of asymptomatic subjects should be taken into consideration.  相似文献

Thymus vulgaris L. (thyme), Origanum majorana L. (marjoram), and Origanum vulgare L. (oregano) were used to determine whether light modification (plants grown under nets with 40% shaded index or in un-shaded open field) could improve the quantity and quality of essential oils (EOs) and antioxidant activity. The yield of EOs of thyme, marjoram, and oregano obtained after 120 min of hydrodistillation was 2.32, 1.51, and 0.27 mL/100 g of plant material, respectively. At the same time under shading conditions plants synthetized more EOs (2.57, 1.68, and 0.32 mL/100 g of plant material). GC/MS and GC/FID analyses were applied for essential oils determinations. The main components of the thyme essential oil are thymol (8.05–9.35%); γ-terpinene (3.49–4.04%); p-cymene (2.80–3.60%) and caryophyllene oxide (1.54–2.15%). Marjoram main components were terpinene 4-ol (7.44–7.63%), γ-terpinene (2.82–2.86%) and linalool (2.04–2.65%) while oregano essential oil consisted of the following components: caryophyllene oxide (3.1–1.93%); germacrene D (1.17–2.0%) and (E)-caryophyllene (1.48–1.1%). The essential oil from thyme grown under shading (EC50 value after 20 min of incubation) have shown the highest antioxidant activity – 0.85 mg mL−1 in comparison to marjoram and oregano (shaded plants EC50 19.97 mg mL−1 and 7.02 mg mL−1 and unshaded, control plants EC50 54.01 mg mL−1 and 7.45 mg mL−1, respectively). The medicinal plants are a good source of natural antioxidants with potential application in the food and pharmaceutical industries. For production practice, it can be recommended to grow medicinal plants in shading conditions to achieve optimal quality parameters.  相似文献

Analysis of a 32.8-kb segment of DNA from the rapamycin (Rp) producer, Streptomyces hygroscopicus ATCC 29253, revealed a new type-I polyketide synthase (PKS) cluster consisting of four open reading frames (ORF 1–4), each encoding a single PKS module. The four ORFs are transcribed in the same direction and are flanked by several smaller ORFs (ORF 5–9), which may be related to the PKS cluster. The first PKS-containing ORF has a ligase domain at the N-terminus of the polypeptide. This domain has 55% aa identity to the CoA ligase domain of the Rp PKS (Schwecke et al., 1995. Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. 92, 7839–7843) which is also encoded in this strain (Lowden et al., 1996. Angew. Chem. Int. Ed. Engl. 35, 2249–2251). ORF5 (340 aa) and ORF6 (924 aa) were found to be homologous to RapK (41% aa identity) and RapH (35% aa identity), which are hypothesized to be a pteridine-dependent dioxygenase and a regulatory protein, respectively (Molnar et al., 1996. Gene 169, 1–7). In addition, ORF7 (391 aa) was found to have up to 42% aa identity to a number of plant 3-deoxy-d-arabino-heptulosonate-7-phosphate synthases (DAHPS) and 47% aa identity to PhzF, a bacterial DAHPS involved in phenazine antibiotic synthesis. The proximity of the DAHPS-encoding gene to the PKS cluster containing a Rp-like ligase domain suggests that a derivative of shikimate may be used as the PKS starter. ORF8 (283 aa) was found to have homology (32% aa identity) to a Synechocystis sp. gene of unknown function. The N-terminal portion of ORF9 was found to be similar to a tetracycline 6-hydroxylase (34% aa identity) from Streptomyces aureofaciens.  相似文献

Rhus javanica (Anacardiaceae) containing abundant glucopyranosidal constituents, is traditionally used to treat gastric and duodenal ulcer, dysentery, and diarrhea. Rumex hastatus (Polygonaceae) widely distributed in Pakistan, has traditional importance in treating wound healing, jaundice, rheumatism, and skin diseases. Callistemon viminalis (Myrtaceae), a rich source of essential oils, saponins, triterpenoids, phloroglucinols, and flavonoids is used in industries, perfumes, nutrition, and cosmetics. Taking the importance of the subject plants, this study is designed to synthesize silver nanoparticles via aqueous extracts of R. javanica (RJAgNPs), R. hastatus (RHAgNPs), and C. viminalis (CVAgNPs). Synthesis, surface, and sizes of silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were confirmed using spectroscopic techniques including ultraviolet–visible (UV–Vis), Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR), and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). AgNPs were produced in ratios 1:15, 1:16, and 1:9 and inferred via appearance of a sharp surface plasmon resonance (SPR) absorption peak (400–435 nm), which represented well-defined, stable, and spherical AgNPs. From SEM analysis, the sizes of RJAgNPs, RHAgNPs, and CVAgNPs were found to be 67 nm, 61 nm, and 55 nm, respectively. The synthesized AgNPs exhibited potential free radical scavenging, antibacterial, and catalytic properties in degradation of dyes including Congo red, methylene blue, methyl orange, rhodamine B, ortho and para-nitrophenols, and several food colours. Hence, the subject AgNPs in the current study might display promising role in drug development and remediation of environmental/industrial effluents.  相似文献

In this study, six major xanthones, isolated and identified from Halenia elliptica were investigated for their vasodilatory actions in isolated rat coronary artery. The xanthones, including 1-hydroxy-2,3,5-trimethoxy-xanthone (HM-1), 1-hydroxy-2,3,4,7-tetramethoxy-xanthone (HM-2), 1-hydroxy-2,3,4,5-tetramethoxy-xanthone (HM-3), 1,7-dihydroxy–2,3,4,5-tetramethoxy-xanthone (HM-4), 1,5-dihydroxy-2,3-dimethoxy-xanthone (HM-5) and 1,7-dihydroxy-2,3-dimethoxy-xanthone (HM-7) caused vasodilation in the coronary artery pre-contracted with 1 μM 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT), with EC50 values ranging from 1.4±0.1 μM (HM-1) to 6.6±1.4 μM (HM-2). The EC50 values of the other xanthones were between those of HM-1 and HM-2. Removal of endothelium of the coronary artery led to decreases in the vasorelaxant effects of HM-1, HM-7 but not HM-2, HM-3, HM-4 and HM-5. Our results showed that xanthones isolated from Halenia elliptica are vasoactive substances which exhibit either endothelium-dependent or endothelium-independent mechanisms in rat coronary artery. The potency and mechanism(s) of the vasorelaxant effects of these xanthones may be relevant to the structure–activity differences in the level and the position of the substituent groups with the primary xanthone structure.  相似文献

Phytophthora ramorum has been found in waterways outside infested nurseries, but little is known about its behavior in water. This study examined the effect of salinity on survival, growth, sporulation, and infection. P. ramorum survival and growth was negatively correlated with salt concentration (range of 0–45 g l−1), but showed a level of tolerance even at 45 g l−1. No sporangia were observed in cultures with higher than 20 g l−1 of salt and zoospores were not released from sporangia above 14 g l−1. Water sources with different salinity were used to understand the environment where P. ramorum can survive and infect host material. Water from natural bodies and water amended with different salt concentrations were added to P. ramorum-infested sand and baited with rhododendron leaf disks. Infection decreased with increasing salt concentration and increased with higher initial concentration of P. ramorum. This research helps to better understand the effects of water quality on survival and infectivity of P. ramorum, expanding the potential survey range.  相似文献

Pinus armandii is one of the local dominant trees in forest lines of Li mountains. The population pattern of Pinus armandii in the forest line is greatly influenced by individual size, and individual size has effect on ecological process. Sampling plot 50 m × 50 m was established in Shunwangping Scenic spot of Li Mountains to obtain location and diameter at breast height (DBH), and spatial point pattern method was applied to explore spatial pattern and ecological process of individuals at different sizes. The results showed: (1) Individual size of Pinus armandii had a parabolic distribution, 10–15 cm DBH individuals had most aggregation scales, < 5 cm DBH individuals had least aggregation scales, and the common scale of individual aggregation is r < 10 m. (2) Homogeneous Thomas null model and Inhomogeneous Thomas null model analysis showed that seed dispersal and interaction between seed dispersal and environmental heterogeneity had significant impact on the pattern of all individuals, seed yield of Pinus armandii was the key to the development of the population, Inhomogeneous Poisson null model analysis showed that environmental heterogeneity more significantly affected the pattern of 5–10 cm DBH individuals, the 5–10 cm population was the more critical stage of the survival of Pinus armandii in the forest line. (3) Intra-specific correlation analysis showed that significant positive correlation happened between four size groups (< 5 cm, 5–10 cm, 10–15 cm, > 15 cm), individuals at 10–15 cm had wider positive correlation scales with other three groups, it might be that quantity of individuals in 10–15 cm was greatest. The size difference of individual in species population had a great influence on the pattern, the results could help to understand the significant impact factors and regeneration obstacles of Pinus armandii in the forest line at different stages.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the effectiveness of different concentrations of three organic infusions as an oviposition attractancy agents of gravid Ae. aegypti mosquito under laboratory condition. Three organic infusions namely, Costus igneus Nak (Insulin plant leaf), Psidium guajava Linn (Guava tree leaf), and Cicer arietinum Linn (Black chickpea) were prepared by fermentation process and bioassays such as choice bioassay and comparison bioassay were performed to assess its oviposition attractiveness. In the choice bioassay, four different concentrations namely, 5%, 10%, 15%, 50% of each infusion was tested with gravid female Ae. aegypti and the oviposition results were compared to the water control. The results showed that the oviposition attractiveness was significantly differed among the different concentrations of three infusions. The highest mean oviposition was observed to be 457.3 ± 22.9 in 15% insulin plant leave infusion and it was 192.6 ± 11.5 in water control (F = 49.64; P = <0.001; OAI = +0.40). The best resulted concentration of the infusions in the choice bioassay was further studied and compared to the positive control (10% hay infusion). The highest mean oviposition was recorded in comparison bioassay was 475.3 ± 10.7 in 15% insulin plant leaf infusion and it was 235.3 ± 9.9 in 10% hay infusion (F = 18.71; P = <0.001; OAI = +0.38). These findings suggest that the insulin plant leaf infusion could be used in ovitraps as an effective organic oviposition attractant in Ae. aegypti mosquito surveillance and control program.  相似文献

Rohitukine, a chromone alkaloid, has gained considerable international attention in recent years because of its novel semi-synthetic derivative, flavopiridol and P-276-00. Both these molecules are in advanced stages of clinical development and trial for cancer treatment. Recently, flavopiridol was approved as an orphan drug for treatment of chronic lymphocytic leukemia cancer. The natural occurrence of rohitukine is restricted to only four plant species, Amoora rohituka and Dysoxylum binectariferum (both from the Meliaceae family) and from Schumanniophyton magnificum and Schumanniophyton problematicum (both from the Rubiaceae family). Recently, an endophytic fungi isolated from D. binectariferum was reported to produce rohitukine in culture. In this study, we report the production of rohitukine and its subsequent attenuation by endophytic fungi, Fusarium oxysporum (MTCC-11383), Fusarium oxysporum (MTCC-11384) and Fusarium solani (MTCC-11385), all isolated from D. binectariferum and Gibberella fujikuroi (MTCC-11382) isolated from Amoora rohituka. The fungal rohitukine which was analyzed by HPLC, LC–MS and LC–MS/MS was identical to reference rohitukine and that produced by the plant. The rohitukine content in the mycelial samples ranged from 192.78 μg to 359.55 μg 100 g−1 of dry weight of and in broth it ranged from 14.10 to 71.90 μg 100 ml−1. In all the fungal cultures, the production declined from first to fourth sub-culture. Studies are underway to unravel the mechanism by which the fungi produce the host metabolite in culture.  相似文献

The present paper analyzes the extent to which attractiveness-related variables affect cooperative behavior in women. Cooperativeness is evaluated through a Prisoner's Dilemma Game (PDG). We consider several morphometric variables related to attractiveness: fluctuating asymmetry (FA), waist–hip ratio (WHR), body mass index (BMI) and facial femininity (FF). These variables have been shown to predict human behavior. We also include as a control variable a score for self-perceived attractiveness (SPA). We test differences in these variables according to behavior in the PDG. Our results reveal that low-FA women cooperate less frequently in the PDG. We also find that women with lower WHR are more cooperative. This result contradicts the expected relation between WHR and behavior in the PDG. We show that this effect of WHR on cooperation operates through its influence on the expectation that participants hold on the cooperative intent of their counterpart. In addition, we show that the effect of attractive features on cooperation occurs independently of the participants' perception of their own appeal. Finally, we discuss our results in the context of the evolution of cooperative behavior and under the hypothesis that attractiveness is a reliable indicator of phenotypic quality.  相似文献

Warneckea populations from “sand-forest” or “sand-thicket” habitats in Tembe Elephant Park, South Africa, and Licuati Forest Reserve in adjacent southern Mozambique were previously thought to be a small-leaved form of W. sousae, which typically includes larger-leaved plants ranging from central Mozambique northward to Tanzania. We examine this hypothesis using molecular and morphological evidence. Maximum-likelihood phylogenetic analysis of combined nrDNA ETS and ITS sequence data failed to resolve W. sousae and the Maputaland populations as an exclusively monophyletic group. Instead, the Kenyan endemic W. mouririifolia was strongly supported as the sister species of W. sousae, and the Maputaland plants were resolved in a separate, strongly supported clade together with populations of an as-yet undetermined Warneckea species from northern Mozambique. A hypothesis of exclusive monophyly for the plants from Tembe and Licuati had moderate support in separate ETS and ITS1 analyses (bootstrap proportions of 88% and 81%, respectively). Statistically significant differences in leaf dimensions and internode length were found between the Maputaland plants and typical W. sousae. We conclude that the populations from Tembe and Licuati represent a distinct species, which we describe as W. parvifolia. The species differs from W. sousae in having shorter internodes (mostly 5–25 mm not 10–60 mm long), smaller leaves (mostly 14–32 × 8–19 mm not 40–76 × 22–52 mm), shorter petioles (mostly 1–1.5 mm not 1.5–6 mm long), smaller flowers (hypanthium 1 × 1.5–1.75 mm not 1.5–2 × 2 mm; calyx lobes 0.5 mm not 0.75 mm long; staminal filaments 3–4 mm not 5 mm long; style 4–5 mm not 9 mm long), and globose fruit (not obovoid). An IUCN conservation status of Endangered (EN) B1a, b(ii, iii) is indicated for W. parvifolia, due to its limited distribution and projected declines in its habitat quality and area of occupancy.  相似文献

Scarab beetles are agriculturally important worldwide, and as adults or larvae they may cause damage to the leaves, flowers, fruit, and roots of crops. Previous international studies showed that Japanese beetle (Popillia japonica, Newman) lures, and structurally related chemicals, can attract numerous scarabs. Based on those studies, season-long trials in grape, cabbage, corn and soybean fields were conducted in 2012–2013 in NE China. Tests determined the attractiveness of the Japanese beetle floral lure (phenethyl propionate:eugenol:geraniol, 3:7:3) and sex attractant (Japonilure), alone, combined, or in a mixture with either (Z)-3-hexen-1-ol, anethole = 1-methoxy-4-propenyl benzene or benzyl alcohol, to local Coleoptera. Furthermore, control efficacies based on leaf, ear, and silk damage, as well as reductions of adults on plants, and overwintering larvae, were also determined. Eleven scarab species, and four non-scarab species, were captured. The addition of other chemicals increased the attractiveness of the two Japanese beetle lures to scarabs such as Potosia brevitarsis (Lewis), Oxycetonia jecunda Faldermann, Holotrichia diomphalia Bates et al., Popillia quadriguttata (Fabricius), Maladera verticalis (Fairmaire), and Metabolus impressifrons Fairmaire, and the chrysomelid beetle Chrysomela populi L. The floral lure, and floral lure plus Japonilure baited traps resulted in > 80% overwintering larvae and adult reductions in corn and cabbage fields, whereas the Japonilure traps gave similar results in the soybean fields. This indicates that the commercial Japanese beetle lure combination can be recommended for use by the Chinese farmers in the corn or soybean fields, and that the related chemicals can be used to increase the attractiveness of the Japanese beetle lures.  相似文献

In recent years, various studies have attempted to understand human evolution by examining relationships between athletic performance or physical fitness and facial attractiveness. Over a wide range of five homogeneous groups (n = 327), there is an approximate 3% shared variance between facial attractiveness and athletic performance or physical fitness (95% CI = 0.5–8%, p = 0.002). Further, studies relating human performance and attractiveness often have major methodological limitations that limit their generalizability. Thus, despite statistical significance, the association between facial attractiveness and human performance has questionable biological importance. Here, we present a critique of these studies and provide recommendations to improve the quality of future research in this realm.  相似文献

Perfluorooctane sulfonate (PFOS) is a ubiquitous environmental contaminant that has been found to pose various risks to fish health and the safety of aquatic ecosystem. Swimming performance is an integrated index of fitness in fish. However, little research has sought on the effects of PFOS on swimming performances of fish. Experiments were carried out to clarify the impacts of acute exposure to PFOS on behavior, swimming ability and metabolic rate in topmouth gudgeon (Pseudorasbora parva), to understand the underlying ecotoxicological effects of waterborne PFOS exposure on fish physiology and behavior. Fish were exposed to PFOS (0, 0.5, 2, 8 or 32 mg/L) for 96 h. Afterwards, the routine metabolic rate (RMR), spontaneous swimming behavior (SSB), fast-start swimming performance (FSP) and critical swimming speed (Ucrit) of the topmouth gudgeon were examined. The results show reduced behavioral performance and increased physiological stress with increasing PFOS concentration. Both RMR, SSB and Ucrit were significantly affected by PFOS exposure (p < 0.05). The lowest observed effect concentration (LOEC) is 2 mg/L for SSB. PFOS treatment resulted in increased RMR (p = 0.001) and decreased Ucrit (p = 0.005), whereas FSP was not influenced by PFOS (p > 0.05). The results indicate that the anaerobic swimming capacity was conserved, but the metabolic level, SSB and aerobic swimming performance in topmouth gudgeon were susceptible to PFOS contamination, and hence might be useful as considerable potential biomarkers of pollution.  相似文献
