Though polypyrrole (PPy) is widely used in flexible supercapacitors owing to its high electrochemical activity and intrinsic flexibility, limited capacitance and cycling stability of freestanding PPy films greatly reduce their practicality in real‐world applications. Herein, we report a new approach to enhance PPy's capacitance and cycling stability by forming a freestanding and conductive hybrid film through intercalating PPy into layered Ti3C2 (l‐Ti3C2, a MXene material). The capacitance increases from 150 (300) to 203 mF cm?2 (406 F cm?3). Moreover, almost 100% capacitance retention is achieved, even after 20 000 charging/discharging cycles. The analyses reveal that l‐Ti3C2 effectively prevents dense PPy stacking, benefiting the electrolyte infiltration. Furthermore, strong bonds, formed between the PPy backbones and surfaces of l‐Ti3C2, not only ensure good conductivity and provide precise pathways for charge‐carrier transport but also improve the structural stability of PPy backbones. The freestanding PPy/l‐Ti3C2 film is further used to fabricate an ultra‐thin all‐solid‐state supercapacitor, which shows an excellent capacitance (35 mF cm?2), stable performance at any bending state and during 10 000 charging/discharging cycles. This novel strategy provides a new way to design conductive polymer‐based freestanding flexible electrodes with greatly improved electrochemical performances.  相似文献

Layered double hydroxides (LDHs) are promising cathode materials for supercapacitors because of the enhanced flow efficiency of ions in the interlayers. However, the limited active sites and monotonous metal species further hinder the improvement of the capacity performance. Herein, cobalt sulfide quantum dots (Co9S8‐QDs) are effectively created and embedded within the interlayer of metal‐organic‐frameworks‐derived ternary metal LDH nanosheets based on in situ selective vulcanization of Co on carbon fibers. The hybrid CF@NiCoZn‐LDH/Co9S8‐QD retains the lamellar structure of the ternary metal LDH very well, inheriting low transfer impedance of interlayer ions. Significantly, the selectively generated Co9S8‐QDs expose more abundant active sites, effectively improving the electrochemical properties, such as capacitive performance, electronic conductivity, and cycling stability. Due to the synergistic relationship, the hybrid material delivers an ultrahigh electrochemical capacity of 350.6 mAh g?1 (2504 F g?1) at 1 A g?1. Furthermore, hybrid supercapacitors fabricated with CF@NiCoZn‐LDH/Co9S8‐QD and carbon nanosheets modified by single‐walled carbon nanotubes display an outstanding energy density of 56.4 Wh kg?1 at a power density of 875 W kg?1, with an excellent capacity retention of 95.3% after 8000 charge–discharge cycles. Therefore, constructing hybrid electrode materials by in situ‐created QDs in multimetallic LDHs is promising.  相似文献

To push the energy density limit of supercapacitors, a new class of electrode materials with favorable architectures is strongly needed. Binary metal sulfides hold great promise as an electrode material for high‐performance energy storage devices because they offer higher electrochemical activity and higher capacity than mono‐metal sulfides. Here, the rational design and fabrication of NiCo2S4 nanosheets supported on nitrogen‐doped carbon foams (NCF) is presented as a novel flexible electrode for supercapacitors. A facile two‐step method is developed for growth of NiCo2S4 nanosheets on NCF with robust adhesion, involving the growth of Ni‐Co precursor and subsequent conversion into NiCo2S4 nanosheets through sulfidation process. Benefiting from the compositional features and 3D electrode architectures, the NiCo2S4/NCF electrode exhibits greatly improved electrochemical performance with ultrahigh capacitance (877 F g?1 at 20 A g?1) and excellent cycling stability. Moreover, a binder‐free asymmetric supercapacitor device is also fabricated by using NiCo2S4/NCF as the positive electrode and ordered mesoporous carbon (OMC)/NCF as the negative electrode; this demonstrates high energy density (≈45.5 Wh kg?1 at 512 W kg?1).  相似文献

Pseudocapacitance is a key charge storage mechanism to advanced electrochemical energy storage devices distinguished by the simultaneous achievement of high capacitance and a high charge/discharge rate by using surface redox chemistries. MXene, a family of layered compounds, is a pseudocapacitor‐like electrode material which exhibits charge storage through exceptionally fast ion accessibility to redox sites. Here, the authors demonstrate steric chloride termination in MXene Ti2CTx (Tx : surface termination groups) to open the interlayer space between the individual 2D Ti2CTx units. The open interlayer space significantly enhances Li‐ion accessibility, leading to high gravimetric and volumetric capacitances (300 F g?1 and 130 F cm?3) with less diffusion limitation. A Li‐ion hybrid capacitor consisting of the Ti2CTx negative electrode and the LiNi1/3Co1/3Mn1/3O2 positive electrode displays an unprecedented specific energy density of 160 W h kg?1 at 220 W kg?1 based on the total weight of positive and negative active materials.  相似文献

Supercapacitors attract great interest because of the increasing and urgent demand for environment‐friendly high‐power energy sources. Ti3C2, a member of MXene family, is a promising electrode material for supercapacitors owing to its excellent chemical and physical properties. However, the highest gravimetric capacitance of the MXene‐based electrodes is still relatively low (245 F g?1) and the key challenge to improve this is to exploit more pseudocapacitance by increasing the active site concentration. Here, a method to significantly improve the gravimetric capacitance of Ti3C2Tx MXenes by cation intercalation and surface modification is reported. After K+ intercalation and terminal groups (OH?/F?) removing , the intercalation pseudocapacitance is three times higher than the pristine MXene, and MXene sheets exhibit a significant enhancement (about 211% of the origin) in the gravimetric capacitance (517 F g?1 at a discharge rate of 1 A g?1). Moreover, the as‐prepared electrodes show above 99% retention over 10 000 cycles. This improved electrochemical performance is attributed to the large interlayer voids of Ti3C2 and lowest terminated surface group concentration. This study demonstrates a new strategy applicable to other MXenes (Ti2CTx , Nb2CTx , etc.) in maximizing their potential applications in energy storage.  相似文献

A three‐component, flexible electrode is developed for supercapacitors over graphitized carbon fabric, utilizing γ‐MnO2 nanoflowers anchored onto carbon nanotubes (γ‐MnO2/CNT) as spacers for graphene nanosheets (GNs). The three‐component, composite electrode doubles the specific capacitance with respect to GN‐only electrodes, giving the highest‐reported specific capacitance (308 F g?1) for symmetric supercapacitors containing MnO2 and GNs using a two‐electrode configuration, at a scan rate of 20 mV s?1. A maximum energy density of 43 W h kg?1 is obtained for our symmetric supercapacitors at a constant discharge‐current density of 2.5 A g?1 using GN–(γ‐MnO2/CNT)‐nanocomposite electrodes. The fabricated supercapacitor device exhibits an excellent cycle life by retaining ≈90% of the initial specific capacitance after 5000 cycles.  相似文献

Highly conductive and ultrathin 2D nanosheets are of importance for the development of portable electronics and electric vehicles. However, scalable production and rational design for highly electronic and ionic conductive 2D nanosheets still remain a challenge. Herein, an industrially adoptable fluid dynamic exfoliation process is reported to produce large quantities of ionic liquid (IL)‐functionalized metallic phase MoS2 (m‐MoS2) and defect‐free graphene (Gr) sheets. Hybrid 2D–2D layered films are also fabricated by incorporating Gr sheets into compact m‐MoS2 films. The incorporated IL functionalities and Gr sheets prevent aggregation and restacking of the m‐MoS2 sheets, thereby creating efficient and rapid ion and electron pathways in the hybrid films. The hybrid film with a high packing density of 2.02 g cm?3 has an outstanding volumetric capacitance of 1430.5 F cm?3 at 1 A g?1 and an extremely high rate capability of 80% retention at 1000 A g?1. The flexible supercapacitor assembled using a polymer‐gel electrolyte exhibits excellent resilience to harsh electrochemical and mechanical conditions while maintaining an impressive rate performance and long cycle life. Successful achievement of an ultrahigh volumetric energy density (1.14 W h cm?3) using an organic electrolyte with a wide cell voltage of ≈3.5 V is demonstrated.  相似文献

A hybrid supercapacitor with high energy and power densities is reported. It comprises a composite anode of anatase TiO2 and reduced graphene oxide and an activated carbon cathode in a non‐aqueous electrolyte. While intercalation compounds can provide high energy typically at the expense of power, the anatase TiO2 nanoparticles are able to sustain both high energy and power in the hybrid supercapacitor. At a voltage range from 1.0 to 3.0 V, 42 W h kg?1 of energy is achieved at 800 W kg?1. Even at a 4‐s charge/discharge rate, an energy density as high as 8.9 W h kg?1 can be retained. The high energy and power of this hybrid supercapacitor bridges the gap between conventional batteries with high energy and low power and supercapacitors with high power and low energy.  相似文献

Metal organic frameworks (MOFs) are considered as promising candidates for supercapacitors because of high specific area and potential redox sites. However, their shuffled orientations and low conductivity nature lead to severely‐degraded performance. Designing an accessibly‐manipulated and efficient method to address those issues is of outmost significance for MOF application in supercapacitors. It is the common way that MOFs scarify themselves as templates or precursors to prepare target products. But to reversely think it, using target products to prepare MOF could be the way to unlock the bottleneck of MOFs' performance in supercapacitors. Herein, a novel strategy using Co(OH)2 as both the template and precursor to fabricate vertically‐oriented MOF electrode is proposed. The electrode shows a double high specific capacitance of 1044 Fg?1 and excellent rate capability compared to MOF in powder form. An asymmetric supercapacitor was also fabricated, which delivers a maximum energy density of 28.5 W h kg?1 at a power density of 1500 W kg?1, and the maximum of 24000 W kg?1 can be obtained with a remaining energy density of 13.3 W h kg?1. Therefore, the proposed strategy paves the way to unlock the inherent advantages of MOFs and also inspires for advanced MOF synthesis with optimum performance.  相似文献

A facile two‐step strategy is developed to design the large‐scale synthesis of hierarchical, unique porous architecture of ternary metal hydroxide nanowires grown on porous 3D Ni foam and subsequent effective sulfurization. The hierarchical Zn–Co–S nanowires (NWs) arrays are directly employed as an electrode for supercapacitors application. The as‐synthesized Zn–Co–S NWs deliver an ultrahigh areal capacity of 0.9 mA h cm?2 (specific capacity of 366.7 mA h g?1) at a current density of 3 mA cm?2, with an exceptional rate capability (≈227.6 mA h g?1 at a very high current density of 40 mA cm?2) and outstanding cycling stability (≈93.2% of capacity retention after 10 000 cycles). Most significantly, the assembled Zn–Co–S NWs//Fe2O3@reduced graphene oxide asymmetric supercapacitors with a wide operating potential window of ≈1.6 V yield an ultrahigh volumetric capacity of ≈1.98 mA h cm?3 at a current density of 3 mA cm?2, excellent energy density of ≈81.6 W h kg?1 at a power density of ≈559.2 W kg?1, and exceptional cycling performance (≈92.1% of capacity retention after 10 000 cycles). This general strategy provides an alternative to design the other ternary metal sulfides, making it facile, free‐standing, binder‐free, and cost‐effective ternary metal sulfide‐based electrodes for large‐scale applications in modern electronics.  相似文献

2D transition metal carbides and nitrides, known as MXenes, are an emerging class of 2D materials with a wide spectrum of potential applications, in particular in electrochemical energy storage. The hydrophilicity of MXenes combined with their metallic conductivity and surface redox reactions is the key for high‐rate pseudocapacitive energy storage in MXene electrodes. However, symmetric MXene supercapacitors have a limited voltage window of around 0.6 V due to possible oxidation at high anodic potentials. In this study, the fact that titanium carbide MXene (Ti3C2Tx) can operate at negative potentials in acidic electrolyte is exploited, to design an all‐pseudocapacitive asymmetric device by combining it with a ruthenium oxide (RuO2) positive electrode. This asymmetric device operates at a voltage window of 1.5 V, which is about two times wider than the operating voltage window of symmetric MXene supercapacitors, and is the widest voltage window reported to date for MXene‐based supercapacitors. The complementary working potential windows of MXene and RuO2, along with proton‐induced pseudocapacitance, significantly enhance the device performance. As a result, the asymmetric devices can deliver an energy density of 37 µW h cm?2 at a power density of 40 mW cm?2, with 86% capacitance retention after 20 000 charge–discharge cycles. These results show that pseudocapacitive negative MXene electrodes can potentially replace carbon‐based materials in asymmetric electrochemical capacitors, leading to an increased energy density.  相似文献

The fabrication of fully printable, flexible micro‐supercapacitors (MSCs) with high energy and power density remains a significant technological hurdle. To overcome this grand challenge, the 2D material MXene has garnered significant attention for its application, among others, as a printable electrode material for high performing electrochemical energy storage devices. Herein, a facile and in situ process is proposed to homogeneously anchor hydrous ruthenium oxide (RuO2) nanoparticles on Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets. The resulting RuO2@MXene nanosheets can associate with silver nanowires (AgNWs) to serve as a printable electrode with micrometer‐scale resolution for high performing, fully printed MSCs. In this printed nanocomposite electrode, the RuO2 nanoparticles contribute high pseudocapacitance while preventing the MXene nanosheets from restacking, ensuring an effective ion highway for electrolyte ions. The AgNWs coordinate with the RuO2@MXene to guarantee the rheological property of the electrode ink, and provide a highly conductive network architecture for rapid charge transport. As a result, MSCs printed from the nanocomposite inks demonstrate volumetric capacitances of 864.2 F cm?3 at 1 mV s?1, long‐term cycling performance (90% retention after 10 000 cycles), good rate capability (304.0 F cm?3 at 2000 mV s?1), outstanding flexibility, remarkable energy (13.5 mWh cm?3) and power density (48.5 W cm?3).  相似文献

To fabricate battery‐like supercapacitors with high power and energy densities, big capacitances, as well as long‐term capacitance retention, vertically aligned carbon nanofibers (CNFs) grown on boron doped diamond (BDD) films are employed as the capacitor electrodes. They possess large surface areas, high conductivity, high stability, and importantly are free of binder. The large surface areas result from their porous structures. The containment of graphene layers and copper metal catalysts inside CNFs leads to their high conductivity. Both electrical double layer capacitors (EDLCs) in inert solutions and pseudocapacitors (PCs) using Fe(CN)63?/4? redox‐active electrolytes are constructed with three‐ and two‐electrode systems. The assembled two‐electrode symmetrical supercapacitor devices exhibit capacitances of 30 and 48 mF cm?2 at 10 mV s?1 for EDLC and PC devices, respectively. They remain constant even after 10 000 charging/discharging cycles. The power densities are 27.3 and 25.3 kW kg?1 for EDLC and PC devices, together with their energy densities of 22.9 and 44.1 W h kg?1, respectively. The performance of these devices is superior to most of the reported supercapacitors and batteries. Vertically aligned CNF/BDD hybrid films are thus useful to construct high‐performance battery‐like and industry‐orientated supercapacitors for future power devices.  相似文献

Conducting polymers such as polyaniline (PAni) show a great potential as pseudocapacitor materials for electrochemical energy storage applications. Yet, the cycling instability of PAni resulting from structural alteration is a major hurdle to its commercial application. Here, the development of nanostructured PAni–RuO2 core–shell arrays as electrodes for highly stable pseudocapacitors with excellent energy storage performance is reported. A thin layer of RuO2 grown by atomic layer deposition (ALD) on PAni nanofibers plays a crucial role in stabilizing the PAni pseudocapacitors and improving their energy density. The pseudocapacitors, which are based on optimized PAni–RuO2 core–shell nanostructured electrodes, exhibit very high specific capacitance (710 F g?1 at 5 mV s?1) and power density (42.2 kW kg?1) at an energy density of 10 Wh kg?1. Furthermore, they exhibit remarkable capacitance retention of ≈88% after 10 000 cycles at very high current density of 20 A g?1, superior to that of pristine PAni‐based pseudocapacitors. This prominently enhanced electrochemical stability successfully demonstrates the buffering effect of ALD coating on PAni, which provides a new approach for the preparation of metal‐oxide/conducting polymer hybrid electrodes with excellent electrochemical performance.  相似文献

Hierarchical NiMoO4 architectures assembled from well‐aligned uniform nanosheets or nanorods are successfully grown on various conductive substrates using a facile and effective general approach. Importantly, the nanostructures of NiMoO4 can be easily controlled to be nanosheets or nanorods by using different solvents. By virtue of their intriguing structure features, NiMoO4 nanosheets as integrated additive‐free electrodes for supercapacitors manifest higher Faradaic capacitance than NiMoO4 nanorods. Moreover, an asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) is constructed using the as‐prepared NiMoO4 nanosheets as the positive electrode and activated carbon (AC) as the negative electrode. The optimized ASC with an extended operating voltage range of 0–1.7 V displays excellent electrochemical performance with a high energy density of 60.9 Wh kg?1 at a power density of 850 W kg?1 in addition to superior rate capability. Furthermore, the NiMoO4//AC ASC device exhibits remarkable cycling stability with 85.7% specific capacitance retention after 10 000 cycles. The results show that these NiMoO4‐based nanostructures are promising for high‐energy supercapacitors.  相似文献

To achieve high‐performance wearable supercapacitors (SCs), a new class of flexible electrodes with favorable architectures allowing large porosity, high conductivity, and good mechanical stability is strongly needed. Here, this study reports the rational design and fabrication of a novel flexible electrode with nanotube‐built multitripod architectures of ternary metal sulfides' composites (FeCo2S4–NiCo2S4) on a silver‐sputtered textile cloth. Silver sputtering is applicable to almost all kinds of textiles, and S2? concentration is optimized during sulfidation process to achieve such architectures and also a complete sulfidation assuring high conductivity. New insights into concentration‐dependent sulfidation mechanism are proposed. The additive‐free FeCo2S4–NiCo2S4 electrode shows a high specific capacitance of 1519 F g?1 at 5 mA cm?2 and superior rate capability (85.1% capacitance retention at 40 mA cm?2). All‐solid‐state SCs employing these advanced electrodes deliver high energy density of 46 W h kg?1 at 1070 W kg?1 as well as achieve remarkable cycling stability retaining 92% of initial capacitance after 3000 cycles at 10 mA cm?2, and outstanding reliability with no capacitance degradation under large twisting. These are attributed to the components' synergy assuring rich redox reactions, high conductivity as well as highly porous but robust architectures. An almost linear increase in capacitance with devices' area indicates possibility to meet various energy output requirements. This work provides a general, low‐cost route to wearable power sources.  相似文献

Although 2D Ti3C2Tx is a good candidate for supercapacitors, the restacking of nanosheets hinders the ion transport significantly at high scan rates, especially under practical mass loading (>10 mg cm?2) and thickness (tens of microns). Here, Ti3C2Tx‐NbN hybrid film is designed by self‐assembling Ti3C2Tx with 2D arrays of NbN nanocrystals. Working as an interlayer spacer of Ti3C2Tx, NbN facilitates the ion penetration through its 2D porous structure; even at extremely high scan rates. The hybrid film shows a thickness‐independent rate performance (almost the same rate capabilities from 2 to 20 000 mV s?1) for 3 and 50 µm thick electrodes. Even a 109 µm thick Ti3C2Tx‐NbN electrode shows a better rate performance than 25 µm thick pure Ti3C2Tx electrodes. This method may pave a way to controlling ion transport in electrodes composed of 2D conductive materials, which have potential applications in high‐rate energy storage and beyond.  相似文献

Recent supercapacitors show a high power density with long‐term cycle life time in energy‐powering applications. A supercapacitor based on a single metal electrode accompanying multivalent cations, multiple charging/discharging kinetics, and high electrical conductivity is a promising energy‐storing system that replaces conventionally used oxide and sulfide materials. Here, a hierarchically nanostructured 2D‐Zn metal electrode‐ion supercapacitor (ZIC) is reported which significantly enhances the ion diffusion ability and overall energy storage performance. Those nanostructures can also be successfully plated on various flat‐type and fiber‐type current collectors by a controlled electroplating method. The ZIC exhibits excellent pseudocapacitive performance with a high energy density of 208 W h kg?1 and a power density from 500 W kg?1, which are significantly higher than those of previously reported supercapacitors with oxide and sulfide materials. Furthermore, the fiber‐type ZIC also shows high energy‐storing performance, outstanding mechanical flexibility, and waterproof characteristics, without any significant capacitance degradation during bending tests. These results highlight the promising possibility of nanostructured 2D Zn metal electrodes with the controlled electroplating method for future energy storage applications.  相似文献

Tremendous research efforts are devoted to developing wide potential window aqueous supercapacitors to resolve their low energy density concern. While the operational potential window is dictated by the intrinsic electrochemical stability of water (1.23 V), such a bottleneck may be surpassed by leveraging the additional overpotential of the oxygen evolution reaction and the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Herein, by employing an electroreduction technique, Na+ is adsorbed onto the carbon negative electrode which effectively acts as a physical barrier to hinder intermediate HER product formation, thereby reducing HER activity. To complement the wide potential carbon electrode, Na0.25MnO2 is employed as the positive electrode to take advantage of the extra energy (i.e., increased overpotential) required for Na+ insertion process into the structure. The asymmetric supercapacitor exhibits high energy density of 61.1 W h kg?1 at a power density of 982 W kg?1, and even at an ultrahigh power density of 42.9 kW kg?1, a respectable energy density of 16.3 W h kg?1 is attained. In addition, 93.7% capacitance retention is recorded after cycling for 10 000 cycles which further demonstrates its suitability as supercapacitor. The present success in fabricating a 2.7 V asymmetric supercapacitor will open a promising research route toward achieving high energy density and high power density.  相似文献

Silver grids are attractive for replacing indium tin oxide as flexible transparent conductors. This work aims to improve the electrochemical stability of silver‐based transparent conductors. A silver grid/PEDOT:PSS hybrid film with high conductivity and excellent stability is successfully fabricated. Its functionality for flexible electrochromic applications is demonstrated by coating one layer of WO3 nanoparticles on the silver grid/PEDOT:PSS hybrid film. This hybrid structure presents a large optical modulation of 81.9% at 633 nm, fast switching, and high coloration efficiency (124.5 cm2 C?1). More importantly, an excellent electrochemical cycling stability (sustaining 79.1% of their initial transmittance modulation after 1000 cycles) and remarkable mechanical flexibility (optical modulation decay of only 7.5% after 1200 compressive bending cycles) is achieved. A novel smart supercapacitor is presented that functions as a regular energy‐storage device and simultaneously monitors the level of stored energy by a rapid and reversible color variation even at high current charge/discharge conditions. The film sustains an optical modulation of 87.7% and a specific capacitance of 67.2% at 10 A g?1 compared to their initial value at a current density of 1 A g?1. The high‐performance silver grid/PEDOT:PSS hybrid transparent films exhibit promising features for various emerging flexible electronics and optoelectronic devices.  相似文献
