Microsupercapacitors (MSCs) with high energy densities offer viable miniaturized alternatives to bulky electrolytic capacitors if the former can respond at the kilo Hertz (kHz) or higher frequencies. Moreover, MSCs fabricated on a chip can be integrated into thin‐film electronics in a compatible manner, serving the function of ripple filtering units or harvesters of energy from high‐frequency sources. In this work, wafer‐scale fabrication is demonstrated of MXene microsupercapacitors with controlled flake sizes and engineered device designs to achieve excellent frequency filtering performance. Specifically, the devices (100 nm thick electrodes and 10 µm interspace) deliver high volumetric capacitance (30 F cm?3 at 120 Hz), high rate capability (300 V s?1), and a very short relaxation time constant (τ0 = 0.45 ms), surpassing conventional electrolytic capacitors (τ0 = 0.8 ms). As a result, the devices are capable of filtering 120 Hz ripples produced by AC line power at a frequency of 60 Hz. This study opens new avenues for exploring miniaturized MXene MSCs as replacements for bulky electrolytic capacitors.  相似文献

While stretchable micro‐supercapacitors (MSCs) have been realized, they have suffered from limited areal electrochemical performance, thus greatly restricting their practical electronic application. Herein, a facile strategy of 3D printing and unidirectional freezing of a pseudoplastic nanocomposite gel composed of Ti3C2Tx MXene nanosheets, manganese dioxide nanowire, silver nanowires, and fullerene to construct intrinsically stretchable MSCs with thick and honeycomb‐like porous interdigitated electrodes is introduced. The unique architecture utilizes thick electrodes and a 3D porous conductive scaffold in conjunction with interacting material properties to achieve higher loading of active materials, larger interfacial area, and faster ion transport for significantly improved areal energy and power density. Moreover, the oriented cellular scaffold with fullerene‐induced slippage cell wall structure prompts the printed electrode to withstand large deformations without breaking or exhibiting obvious performance degradation. When imbued with a polymer gel electrolyte, the 3D‐printed MSC achieves an unprecedented areal capacitance of 216.2 mF cm?2 at a scan rate of 10 mV s?1, and remains stable when stretched up to 50% and after 1000 stretch/release cycles. This intrinsically stretchable MSC also exhibits high rate capability and outstanding areal energy density of 19.2 µWh cm?2 and power density of 58.3 mW cm?2, outperforming all reported stretchable MSCs.  相似文献

Direct inkjet printing of functional inks is an emerging and promising technique for the fabrication of electrochemical energy storage devices. Electrochromic energy devices combine electrochromic and energy storage functions, providing a rising and burgeoning technology for next‐generation intelligent power sources. However, printing such devices has, in the past, required additives or other second phase materials in order to create inks with suitable rheological properties, which can lower printed device performance. Here, tungsten oxide nanocrystal inks are formulated without any additives for the printing of high‐quality tungsten oxide thin films. This allows the assembly of novel electrochromic pseudocapacitive zinc‐ion devices, which exhibit a relatively high capacity (≈260 C g?1 at 1 A g?1) with good cycling stability, a high coloration efficiency, and fast switching response. These results validate the promising features of inkjet‐printed electrochromic zinc‐ion energy storage devices in a wide range of applications in flexible electronic devices, energy‐saving buildings, and intelligent systems.  相似文献

Fiber‐supercapacitors (FSCs) are promising energy storage devices that can complement or even replace microbatteries in miniaturized portable and wearable electronics. Currently, a major challenge for FSCs is achieving ultrahigh volumetric energy and power densities simultaneously, especially when the charge/discharge rates exceed 1 V s?1. Herein, an Au‐nanoparticle‐doped‐MnOx@CoNi‐alloy@carbon‐nanotube (Au–MnOx@CoNi@CNT) core/shell nanocomposite fiber electrode is designed, aiming to boost its charge/discharge rate by taking advantage of the superconductive CoNi alloy network and the greatly enhanced conductivity of the Au doped MnOx active materials. An all‐solid‐state coaxial asymmetric FSC (CAFSC) prototype device made by wrapping this fiber with a holey graphene paper (HGP) exhibits excellent performance at rates up to 10 V s?1, which is the highest charge rate demonstrated so far for FSCs based on pseudocapacitive materials. Furthermore, our fully packaged CAFSC delivers a volumetric energy density of ≈15.1 mW h cm?3, while simultaneously maintaining a high power density of 7.28 W cm?3 as well as a long cycle life (90% retention after 10 000 cycles). This value is the highest among all reported FSCs, even better than that of a typical 4 V/500 µA h thin‐film lithium battery.  相似文献

3D printing is becoming an efficient approach to facilely and accurately fabricate diverse complex architectures with broad applications. However, suitable inks and 3D print favorable architectures with high electrochemical performances for energy storage are still being explored. Here, sulfur copolymer‐graphene architectures with well‐designed periodic microlattices are 3D printed as a cathode for Li‐S batteries using a suitable ink composed of sulfur particles, 1,3‐diisopropenylbenzene (DIB), and condensed graphene oxide dispersion. Using thermal treatment, elemental sulfur can be reacted with DIB to produce sulfur copolymer, which can partially suppress the dissolution of polysulfides. Moreover, graphene in the architecture can provide high electrical conductivity for whole electrode. Hence, 3D printed sulfur copolymer‐graphene architecture exhibits a high reversible capacity of 812.8 mA h g?1 and good cycle performance. Such a simple 3D printing approach can be further extended to construct many complex architectures for various energy storage devices.  相似文献

Nearly all implantable bioelectronics are powered by bulky batteries which limit device miniaturization and lifespan. Moreover, batteries contain toxic materials and electrolytes that can be dangerous if leakage occurs. Herein, an approach to fabricate implantable protein‐based bioelectrochemical capacitors (bECs) employing new nanocomposite heterostructures in which 2D reduced graphene oxide sheets are interlayered with chemically modified mammalian proteins, while utilizing biological fluids as electrolytes is described. This protein‐modified reduced graphene oxide nanocomposite material shows no toxicity to mouse embryo fibroblasts and COS‐7 cell cultures at a high concentration of 1600 µg mL?1 which is 160 times higher than those used in bECs, unlike the unmodified graphene oxide which caused toxic cell damage even at low doses of 10 µg mL?1. The bEC devices are 1 µm thick, fully flexible, and have high energy density comparable to that of lithium thin film batteries. COS‐7 cell culture is not affected by long‐term exposure to encapsulated bECs over 4 d of continuous charge/discharge cycles. These bECs are unique, protein‐based devices, use serum as electrolyte, and have the potential to power a new generation of long‐life, miniaturized implantable devices.  相似文献

Micro‐supercapacitors (MSCs) as a new class of energy storage devices have attracted great attention due to their unique merits. However, the narrow operating voltage, slow frequency response, and relatively low energy density of MSCs are still insufficient. Therefore, an effective strategy to improve their electrochemical performance by innovating upon the design from various aspects remains a huge challenge. Here, surface and structural engineering by downsizing to quantum dot scale, doping heteroatoms, creating more structural defects, and introducing rich functional groups to two dimensional (2D) materials is employed to tailor their physicochemical properties. The resulting nitrogen‐doped graphene quantum dots (N‐GQDs) and molybdenum disulfide quantum dots (MoS2‐QDs) show outstanding electrochemical performance as negative and positive electrode materials, respectively. Importantly, the obtained N‐GQDs//MoS2‐QDs asymmetric MSCs device exhibits a large operating voltage up to 1.5 V (far exceeding that of most reported MSCs), an ultrafast frequency response (with a short time constant of 0.087 ms), a high energy density of 0.55 mWh cm?3, and long‐term cycling stability. This work not only provides a novel concept for the design of MSCs with enhanced performance but also may have broad application in other energy storage and conversion devices based on QDs materials.  相似文献

A 3D printing approach is first developed to fabricate quasi‐solid‐state asymmetric micro‐supercapacitors to simultaneously realize the efficient patterning and ultrahigh areal energy density. Typically, cathode, anode, and electrolyte inks with high viscosities and shear‐thinning rheological behaviors are first prepared and 3D printed individually on the substrates. The 3D printed asymmetric micro‐supercapacitor with interdigitated electrodes exhibits excellent structural integrity, a large areal mass loading of 3.1 mg cm?2, and a wide electrochemical potential window of 1.6 V. Consequently, this 3D printed asymmetric micro‐supercapacitor displays an ultrahigh areal capacitance of 207.9 mF cm?2. More importantly, an areal energy density of 73.9 µWh cm?2 is obtained, superior to most reported interdigitated micro‐supercapacitors. It is believed that the efficient 3D printing strategy can be used to construct various asymmetric micro‐supercapacitors to promote the integration in on‐chip energy storage systems.  相似文献

While several stretchable batteries utilizing either deterministic or random composite architectures have been described, none have been fabricated using inexpensive printing technologies. In this study, the authors printed a highly stretchable, zinc‐silver oxide (Zn‐Ag2O) battery by incorporating polystyrene‐block ‐polyisoprene‐block ‐polystyrene (SIS) as a hyperelastic binder for custom‐made printable inks. The remarkable mechanical properties of the SIS binder lead to an all‐printed, stretchable Zn‐Ag2O rechargeable battery with a ≈2.5 mA h cm?2 reversible capacity density even after multiple iterations of 100% stretching. This battery offers the highest reversible capacity and discharge current density for intrinsically stretchable batteries reported to date. The electrochemical and mechanical properties are characterized under different strain conditions. The new stress‐enduring printable inks pave ways for further developing stretchable electronics for the wide range of wearable applications.  相似文献

As commercial interest in flexible power‐conversion devices increases, the demand for high‐performance alternatives to brittle inorganic thermoelectric (TE) materials is growing. As an alternative, we propose a rationally designed graphene/polymer/inorganic nanocrystal free‐standing paper with high TE performance, high flexibility, and mechanical/chemical durability. The ternary hybrid system of the graphene/polymer/inorganic nanocrystal includes two heterojunctions that induce double‐carrier filtering, which significantly increases the electrical conductivity without a major decrease in the thermopower. The ternary hybrid shows a power factor of 143 μW m?1 K?1 at 300 K, which is one to two orders of magnitude higher than those of single‐ or binary‐component materials. In addition, with five hybrid papers and polyethyleneimine (PEI)‐doped single‐walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) as the p‐type and n‐type TE units, respectively, a maximum power density of 650 nW cm?2 at a temperature difference of 50 K can be obtained. The strategy proposed here can improve the performance of flexible TE materials by introducing more heterojunctions and optimizing carrier transfer at those junctions, and shows great potential for the preparation of flexible or wearable power‐conversion devices.  相似文献

To overcome the low energy density bottleneck of graphene‐based supercapacitors and to organically endow them with high‐power density, ultralong‐life cycles, etc., one rational strategy that couple graphene sheets with multielectron, redox‐reversible, and structurally‐stable organic compounds. Herein, a graphene‐indanthrone (IDT) donor–π–acceptor heterojunction is conceptualized for efficient and smooth 6H+/6e? transfers from pseudocapacitive IDT molecules to electrochemical double‐layer capacitive graphene scaffolds. To construct this, water‐processable graphene oxide (GO) is employed as a graphene precursor, and to in situ exfoliate IDT industrial dyestuff, followed by a hydrothermally‐induced reduction toward GO and self‐assembly between reduced GO (rGO) donors (D) and IDT acceptors (A), affording rGO‐π‐IDT D–A heterojunctions. Electrochemical tests indicate that rGO‐π‐IDT heterojunctions deliver a gravimetric capacitance of 535.5 F g?1 and an amplified volumetric capacitance of 685.4 F cm?3. The assembled flexible all‐solid‐state supercapacitor yields impressive volumetric energy densities of 31.3 and 25.1 W h L?1, respectively, at low and high power densities of 767 and 38 554 W L?1, while exhibiting an exceptional rate capability, cycling stability, and enduring mechanically‐challenging bending and distortions. The concept and methodology may open up opportunities for other two‐dimensional materials and other energy‐related devices.  相似文献

Conductive 2D metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have merits beyond traditional MOFs for electrochemical applications, but reports on using MOFs as electrodes for electrochemical microsupercapacitors (MSCs) are practically non‐existent. In this work, a Ni‐catecholate‐based MOF (Ni‐CAT MOF) having good conductivity and exhibiting redox chemistry in the positive and negative voltage windows is developed. A novel process is developed to selectively grow the conductive Ni‐CAT MOF on 3D laser scribed graphene (LSG). The LSG with its superior wettability serves as a functional matrix‐current collector for the hybridization of conductive Ni‐CAT MOF nanocrystals. Impressively, MSCs fabricated using the hybrid LSG/Ni‐CAT MOF show significant improvement compared with MOF‐free LSG electrodes. Specifically, the LSG/Ni‐CAT MOF electrodes can deliver MSCs with a wide operating voltage (1.4 V), high areal capacitance (15.2 mF cm?2), energy density (4.1 µWh cm?2), power density (7 mW cm?2), good rate performance, and decent cycling stability. This work opens up an avenue for developing electrochemical microsupercapacitors using conductive MOF electrodes.  相似文献

The capacitance of microsupercapacitors (MSCs) can double if both sides of substrates are used to construct MSCs. Nevertheless, achieving electric connections of MSCs through substrates is a challenge due to the difficulty in precisely positioning each MSC couple that has two of the same MSCs units on two sides. In this work, taking advantage of the synchronous etching on both sides of transparent polyethylene terephthalate substrates by femtosecond laser pulses, a double‐sided configuration is attained with high precision in the alignment of back‐to‐back MSC couples and versatile double‐side MSCs are realized via arbitrary on‐ and through‐substrate connections of MXene MSC units. The MXene double‐side MSC fabricated by the series connection of 12 spiral pattern MXene MSC units with interdigital electrodes of 10 μm width interspace can output a large working voltage of 7.2 V. Additionally, femtosecond laser etching brings the transformation of MXene into titania near‐etched edges with a lateral distance less than 1 µm. Such a small laser‐affected area has little influence on the capacitive performance, which is one of advantages for femtosecond laser over conventional lasers. This research is valuable for one‐step manufacturing of highly integrated MSCs in the field of miniaturized energy storage systems.  相似文献

Less‐defective graphene oxide sheets with a small average size of 0.7 µm are electrochemically reduced to form a hydrogel film with highly oriented porous structure. It is applied as the electrode of organic electrochemical capacitor (OEC) after solvent change with organic electrolyte and deep reduction in this organic medium. At 120 Hz, the typical OEC exhibits a high areal specific energy density of 472 µF V2 cm?2 with a wide workable voltage window of 2.5 V, a phase angle of ?80.5°, a resistor‐capacitor time constant (τRC) of 0.219 ms, and an excellent electrochemical stability. Thus, it is promising to replace aluminum electrolytic capacitors for AC line filtering. Furthermore, two identical OECs connected in series keep the performance of single device, making them practically applicable in electronics.  相似文献

We describe a miniaturized fluid array device for high‐throughput cell‐free protein synthesis (CFPS), aiming to match the throughput and scale of gene discovery. Current practice of using E. coli cells for production of recombinant proteins is difficult and cost‐prohibitive to implement in a high‐throughput format. As more and more new genes are being identified, there is a considerable need to have high‐throughput methods to produce a large number of proteins for studying structures and functions of the corresponding genes. The device consists of 96 units and each unit is for expression of one protein; thus up to 96 proteins can be produced simultaneously. The function of the fluid array was demonstrated by expression of a variety of proteins, with more than two orders of magnitude reduction in reagent consumption compared with a commercially available CFPS instrument. The protein expression yield in the device was up to 87 times higher for β‐glucoronidase than that in a conventional microplate. The concentration of β‐galactosidase expressed in the device was determined at 5.5 μg/μL. The feasibility of using the device for drug screening was demonstrated by measuring the inhibitory effects of mock drug compounds on synthesized β‐lactamase without the need for harvesting proteins, which enabled us to reduce the analysis time from days to hours. © 2010 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Biotechnol. In this work, a simple lignin‐based laser lithography technique is developed and used to fabricate on‐chip microsupercapacitors (MSCs) using 3D graphene electrodes. Specifically, lignin films are transformed directly into 3D laser‐scribed graphene (LSG) electrodes by a simple one‐step CO2 laser irradiation. This step is followed by a water lift‐off process to remove unexposed lignin, resulting in 3D graphene with the designed electrode patterns. The resulting LSG electrodes are hierarchically porous, electrically conductive (conductivity is up to 66.2 S cm?1), and have a high specific surface area (338.3 m2 g?1). These characteristics mean that such electrodes can be used directly as MSC electrodes without the need for binders and current collectors. The MSCs fabricated using lignin laser lithography exhibit good electrochemical performances, namely, high areal capacitance (25.1 mF cm?2), high volumetric energy density (≈1 mWh cm?3), and high volumetric power density (≈2 W cm?3). The versatility of lignin laser lithography opens up the opportunity in applications such as on‐chip microsupercapacitors, sensors, and flexible electronics at large‐scale production.  相似文献

HL‐1 is a line of immortalized cells of cardiomyocyte origin that are a useful complement to native cardiomyocytes in studies of cardiac gene regulation. Several types of ion channel have been identified in these cells, but not the physiologically important inward rectifier K+ channels. Our aim was to identify and characterize inward rectifier K+ channels in HL‐1 cells. External Ba2+ (100 µM) inhibited 44 ± 0.05% (mean ± s.e.m., n = 11) of inward current in whole‐cell patch‐clamp recordings. The reversal potential of the Ba2+‐sensitive current shifted with external [K+] as expected for K+‐selective channels. The slope conductance of the inward Ba2+‐sensitive current increased with external [K+]. The apparent Kd for Ba2+ was voltage dependent, ranging from 15 µM at ?150 mV to 148 µM at ?75 mV in 120 mM external K+. This current was insensitive to 10 µM glybenclamide. A component of whole‐cell current was sensitive to 150 µM 4,4′‐diisothiocyanatostilbene‐2,2′‐disulfonic acid (DIDS), although it did not correspond to the Ba2+‐sensitive component. The effect of external 1 mM Cs+ was similar to that of Ba2+. Polymerase chain reaction using HL‐1 cDNA as template and primers specific for the cardiac inward rectifier Kir2.1 produced a fragment of the expected size that was confirmed to be Kir2.1 by DNA sequencing. In conclusion, HL‐1 cells express a current that is characteristic of cardiac inward rectifier K+ channels, and express Kir2.1 mRNA. This cell line may have use as a system for studying inward rectifier gene regulation in a cardiomyocyte phenotype. J. Cell. Physiol. 225: 751–756, 2010. © 2010 Wiley‐Liss, Inc.  相似文献

Carbon dots have been recognized as one of the most promising candidates for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) in alkaline media. However, the desired ORR performance in metal–air batteries is often limited by the moderate electrocatalytic activity and the lack of a method to realize good dispersion. To address these issues, herein a biomass‐deriving method is reported to achieve the in situ phosphorus doping (P‐doping) of carbon dots and their simultaneous decoration onto graphene matrix. The resultant product, namely P‐doped carbon dot/graphene (P‐CD/G) nanocomposites, can reach an ultrahigh P‐doping level for carbon nanomaterials. The P‐CD/G nanocomposites are found to exhibit excellent ORR activity, which is highly comparable to the commercial Pt/C catalysts. When used as the cathode materials for a primary liquid Al–air battery, the device shows an impressive power density of 157.3 mW cm?2 (comparing to 151.5 mW cm?2 of a similar Pt/C battery). Finally, an all‐solid‐state flexible Al–air battery is designed and fabricated based on our new nanocomposites. The device exhibits a stable discharge voltage of ≈1.2 V upon different bending states. This study introduces a unique biomass‐derived material system to replace the noble metal catalysts for future portable and wearable electronic devices.  相似文献

Here, a simple active materials synthesis method is presented that boosts electrode performance and utilizes a facile screen‐printing technique to prepare scalable patterned flexible supercapacitors based on manganese hexacyanoferrate‐manganese oxide and electrochemically reduced graphene oxide electrode materials (MnHCF‐MnOx/ErGO). A very simple in situ self‐reaction method is developed to introduce MnOx pseudocapacitor material into the MnHCF system by using NH4F. This MnHCF‐MnOx electrode materials can deliver excellent capacitance of 467 F g?1 at a current density of 1 A g?1, which is a 2.4 times capacitance increase compared to MnHCF. In addition a printed, patterned, flexible MnHCF‐MnOx/ErGO supercapacitor is fabricated, showing a remarkable areal capacitance of 16.8 mF cm?2 and considerable energy and power density of 0.5 mWh cm?2 and 0.0023 mW cm?2, respectively. Furthermore, the printed patterned flexible supercapacitors also exhibit exceptional flexibility, and the capacitance remains stable, even while bending to various angles (60°, 90°, and 180°) and for 100 cycles. The flexible supercapacitor arrays integrated by multiple prepared single supercapacitors can power various LEDs even in the bent states. This approach offers promising opportunities for the development of printable energy storage materials and devices with high energy density, large scalability, and excellent flexibility.  相似文献

All‐solid‐state on‐chip SiC supercapacitors (SCs) based on free‐standing SiC nanowire arrays (NWAs) are reported. In comparison to the widely used technique based on the interdigitated fingers, the present strategy can be much more facile for constructing on‐chip SCs devices, which is directly sandwiched with a solid electrolyte layer between two pieces of SiC NWAs film without any substrate. The mass loading of active materials of on‐chip SiC SCs can be up to ≈5.6 mg cm?2, and the total device thickness is limited in ≈40 µm. The specific area energy and power densities of the SCs device reach 5.24 µWh cm?2 and 11.2 mW cm?2, and their specific volume energy and power densities run up to 1.31 mWh cm–3 and 2.8 W cm?3, respectively, which are two orders of magnitude higher than those of state‐of‐the‐art SiC‐based SCs, and also much higher than those of other solid‐state carbon‐based SCs ever reported. Furthermore, such on‐chip SCs exhibit superior rate capability and robust stability with over 94% capacitance retention after 10 000 cycles at a scan rate of 100 mV s?1, representing their high performance in all merits.  相似文献
