Results are presented from studies of the optical characteristics and parameters of plasma of a dielectric barrier discharge in a mixture of mercury dibromide vapor with neon—the working medium of a non-coaxial exciplex gas-discharge emitter. The electron energy distribution function, the transport characteristics, the specific power losses for electron processes, the electron density and temperature, and the rate constants for the processes of elastic and inelastic electron scattering by the working mixture components are determined as functions of the reduced electric field. The rate constant of the process leading to the formation of exciplex mercury monobromide molecules is found to be 1.6 × 10?14 m3/s for a reduced electric field of E/N = 15 Td, at which the maximum emission intensity in the blue-green spectral region (λmax = 502 nm) was observed in this experiment.  相似文献

In the previous experiments on ECR heating of a low-density plasma with n e =(0.3?0.5)×1019 m?3 in the L-2M stellarator, the electron temperature profile measured from the intensity of electron cyclotron emission was found to be asymmetric about the magnetic axis and the electron temperature measured by this diagnostics turned out to be higher than that expected from diamagnetic measurements. To find out the character of distortion of the electron energy distribution function, the soft X-ray spectrum was measured in regimes with large values of the specific heating power η (1.5 MW per 1019 particles). Under these conditions, the X-ray spectrum plotted on a semilogarithmic scale has no linear segments in the photon energy range from 1.5 to 12 keV. This indicates that the electron distribution function is non-Maxwellian over the entire energy range under study.  相似文献

Models with critical gradients are widely used to describe energy balance in L-mode discharges. The so-called first critical gradient can be found from the canonical temperature profile. Here, it is suggested that discharge regimes with transport barriers can be described based on the idea of the second critical gradient. If, in a certain plasma region, the pressure gradient exceeds the second critical gradient, then the plasma bifurcates into a new state and a transport barrier forms in this region. This idea was implemented in a modified canonical profile transport model that makes it possible to describe the energy and particle balance in tokamak plasmas with arbitrary cross sections and aspect ratios. The magnitude of the second critical gradient was chosen by comparing the results calculated for several tokamak discharges with the experimental data. It is found that the second critical gradient is related to the magnetic shear s. The criterion of the transport barrier formation has the form (a 2/r)d/drln(p/p c ) > z 0 (r), where r is the radial coordinate, a is the plasma minor radius, p is the plasma pressure, p c is the canonical pressure profile, and the dimensionless function z O(r) = C O + C 1 s (with C 0i ~1, C 0e ~3, and C 1i,e ~2) describes the difference between the first and second critical gradients. Simulations show that this criterion is close to that obtained experimentally in JET. The model constructed here is used to simulate internal transport barriers in the JET, TFTR, DIII-D, and MAST tokamaks. The possible dependence of the second critical gradient on the plasma parameters is discussed.  相似文献

Results are presented from experiments on studying the plasma behavior in the L-2M stellarator in regimes with a high power deposition in electrons during electron cyclotron heating at the second harmonic of the electron gyrofrequency (X mode) at heating powers of P in=120–400 kW and average plasma densities from n e≤3×1019 to 0.3×1019 m?3. It is shown that, as the plasma density decreases and the heating power increases, the electron cyclotron emission spectrum is modified; this may be attributed to a deviation of the electron energy distribution from a Maxwellian and the generation of suprathermal electrons. At low plasma densities, the emission intensity at the second harmonic of the electron gyrofrequency increases, whereas the plasma energy measured by diamagnetic diagnostics does not increase. This poses the question of the correctness of determining the plasma electron temperature by electron cyclotron emission diagnostics under these conditions.  相似文献

The behavior of turbulent fluxes in the vicinity of a resonant point m/n=q(x res) in a plane wall plasma layer in a tokamak is studied by numerically analyzing the nonlinear MHD equations in a four-field electromagnetic model. Simulations show that, as the electron temperature at the plasma edge increases, the intensity of turbulent particle flux decreases, reaching its minimum value, and then increases. Such behavior is found to be due to the stabilizing effect of the electron drift velocity (V y0dT e0/dx) in the equation for the longitudinal component of the magnetic potential. It is shown that, at a strong toroidal magnetic field, turbulent transport processes conform to the gyro-Bohm scaling, which gradually passes over to the Bohm scaling as the field decreases. __________ Translated from Fizika Plazmy, Vol. 30, No. 5, 2004, pp. 387–397. Results from T-10 experiments in regimes with nonmonotonic plasma current profiles are presented. The possibility of controlling the current profile j(r) by electron-cyclotron current drive is demonstrated experimentally. Nonmonotonic q profiles with the reversed shear are obtained in which the q min value varies in a wide range, q min=1–2.3. It is shown that the current profiles with q min~2 (in this case, there are two resonant magnetic surfaces q=2 in the plasma) can cause the onset of MHD instabilities. The possibility of the formation of an internal transport barrier in reversed-shear discharges in the T-10 tokamak is analyzed. In T-10, electron transport is governed by short-wavelength electron turbulence. As a result, there is no clear evidence of the formation of an inner transport barrier in these experiments.  相似文献

In experiments on lower hybrid current drive (LHCD) carried out at the FT-2 tokamak, a substantial increase in the central electron temperature T e (r = 0 cm) from 550 to 700 eV was observed. A complex simulation procedure is used to explain a fairly high LHCD efficiency and the observed additional heating, which can be attributed to a transition into the improved core confinement (ICC) mode. For numerical simulations, data obtained in experiments with deuterium plasma at 〈n e 〉 = 1.6 × 1019 m–3 were used. Simulations by the GRILL3D, FRTC, and ASTRA codes have shown that the increase in the density and central temperature is apparently caused by a significant suppression of heat transport in the electron component. The mechanism for transition into the improved confinement mode at r < 3 cm can be associated with the broadening of the plasma current channel due to the lower hybrid drive of the current carried by superthermal and runaway electrons. In this case, the magnetic shear s = (r/q)(dq/dr) in the axial region of the plasma column almost vanishes during the RF pulse. In this study, the effect of lower hybrid waves on the plasma parameters, resulting in a transition into the ICC mode, is considered. New experimental and calculated data are presented that evidence in favor of such a transition. Special attention is paid to the existence of a threshold for the transition into the ICC mode in deuterium plasma.  相似文献

In experiments on studying the ohmic H-mode in the TUMAN-3M tokamak, it is found that, in high-current (I p~120–170 kA) discharges, a region with high electron-temperature and density gradients is formed in the plasma core. In this case, the energy confinement time τ E attains 9–18 ms, which is nearly twice as large as that predicted by the ELM-free ITER-93H scaling. This is evidence that the internal transport barrier in a plasma can exist without auxiliary heating. Calculations of the effective thermal diffusivity by the ASTRA transport code demonstrate a strong suppression of heat transport in the region where the temperature and density gradients are high.  相似文献

The spectroscopic technique used to measure the parameters of the plasma jets generated in the plasma focus discharge and those of the plasma of the immobile gas through which these jets propagate is described. The time evolution of the intensities and shapes of spectral lines in experiments carried out with helium at the PF-3 facility was studied by means of electron-optical streak cameras. The plasma electron temperature, T ≈ 4–5 eV, was determined from the intensity ratio of two spectral lines, one of which (λ1 = 5876 Å) belongs to neutral helium, while the other (λ2 = 4686 Å), to hydrogen-like helium ions. The plasma density at different time instants was determined from the Stark broadening of these lines in the electric fields of different nature. The plasma density is found to vary from 4 × 1014 to 2 × 1017 cm?3.  相似文献

Photosynthetic capacity decreases rapidly when temperate species are exposed to heat stress during reproductive development. We investigated whether injury in wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) resulted from general acceleration of senescence processes or specific heat-induced lesions. In situ photosynthetic capacity of leaf discs and thylakoid reactions were measured using flag leaf tissue from two cultivars maintained at 20 and 35°C during maturation. Photosynthetic rates of leaf discs decreased faster at 35 than at 20°C and were more photolabile in cv Len than in cv Waverly at high temperature. Patterns of thylakoid breakdown also differed in the two wheat genotypes at 20°C: intersystem electron transport and photosystem II activity decreased linearly during postanthesis development in Len wheat, whereas coupling of photophosphorylation to electron transport declined late during senescence in Waverly wheat. Heat stress induced early loss of intersystem electron transport followed sequentially by decreased silicomolybdic acid, + 3-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1-dimethylurea-mediated photosystem II activity and 2,5-dichloro-p-benzoquinone-mediated photosystem II activity in Len. Stress accelerated the uncoupling process, but loss of intersystem electron transport and photosystem II activities was slower in Waverly than in Len. We conclude that high temperature initially accelerated thylakoid component breakdown, an effect similar to normal senescence patterns. Thylakoid breakdown may induce a destabilizing imbalance between component reaction rates; an imbalance between photosystem II and cytochrome f/b6-mediated activities would be particularly damaging during heat stress.  相似文献

Results of active experiments on electron beam injection from the Intercosmos-25 satellite into the ionospheric plasma are presented. A quasistatic magnetic field and the VLF-wave magnetic component are excited when an unmodulated electron beam with a current of I be ?0.1 A and energy of ? be =mv 2/2?10 keV is injected into the ambient plasma. The magnetic field excitation is attributed to the onset of plasma gradient instabilities.  相似文献

The response of photosynthetic electron transport and light-harvesting efficiency to high temperatures was studied in the desert shrub Larrea divaricata Cav. Plants were grown at day/night temperatures of 20/15, 32/25, or 45/33 C in rough approximation of natural seasonal temperature variations. The process of acclimation to high temperatures involves an enhancement of the stability of the interactions between the light-harvesting pigments and the photosystem reaction centers. As temperature is increased, the heat-induced dissociation of these complexes results in a decrease in the quantum yield of electron transport at limiting light intensity, followed by a loss of electron transport activity at rate-saturating light intensity. The decreased quantum yield can be attributed to a block of excitation energy transfer from chlorophyll b to chlorophyll a, and changes in the distribution of the excitation energy between photosystems II and I. The block of excitation energy transfer is characterized by a loss of the effectiveness of 480 nm light (absorbed primarily by chlorophyll b) to drive protochemical processes, as well as fluorescence emission by chlorophyll b.  相似文献

Backscattering of gyrotron radiation (θ = π) by short-wavelength density fluctuations (k = 30 cm?1) in the plasma of the L-2M stellarator was studied under conditions of electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) plasma heating at the second harmonic of the electron gyrofrequency (75 GHz). The scattering of the O-wave emerging due to the splitting of the linearly polarized gyrotron radiation into the X- and O-waves was analyzed. The signal obtained after homodyne detection of scattered radiation is a result of interference of the reference signal, the quasi-steady component, and the fast oscillating component. The coefficients of reflection of the quasi-steady component, R = 2 (Y), and fast oscillating component, R 2 (Y), of scattered radiation are estimated. The growth of the R 2 (Y) coefficient from 3.7 × 10?4 to 5.2 × 10?4 with increasing ECR heating power from 190 to 430 kW is found to correlate with the decrease in the energy lifetime from 1.9 to 1.46 ms. The relative density of short-wavelength fluctuations is estimated to be 〈n 2 〉/〈n e 2 〉 = 3 × 10?7. It is shown that the frequencies of short-wavelength fluctuations are in the range 10–150 kHz. The recorded short-wavelength fluctuations can be interpreted as structural turbulence, the energy of which comprises ~10% of the total fluctuations energy. Simulations of transport processes show that neoclassical heat fluxes are much smaller than anomalous ones. It is suggested that short-wavelength turbulence plays a decisive role in the anomalous heat transport.  相似文献

A plasma confinement mode characterized by the formation of an edge transport barrier (ETB) was discovered in the L-2M stellarator after boronization of the vacuum vessel wall. The transition into this mode is accompanied by a jump in the electron temperature by 100–200 eV at the plasma edge and a sharp increase in the gradient of the electron temperature T e in this region. The threshold power for the transition into the ETB confinement mode with an increased electron temperature gradient is P thr ?Te = (60 ± 15)n e [1019 m?3] kW. The formation of the ETB manifests itself also in a substantial change in the electron density profile. A density peak with a steep gradient at the outer side forms at the plasma edge. The threshold power for the transition into the ETB confinement mode corresponding to a substantial increase in the plasma density gradient near r = a is P thr ?Te = (67 ± 9)n e [1019 m?3] kW, which agrees to within experimental error with the threshold power for the transition into the ETB confinement mode determined from the sharp increase in the gradient of the electron temperature T e . The value of P thr for the L-2M stellarator agrees to within 25% with that obtained from the tokamak scaling. In the ETB confinement mode, the plasma energy W and the energy confinement time τ E determined from diamagnetic measurements increase by 20–30% as compared to those obtained from the stellarator scaling for the confinement mode without an ETB. When the heating power increases by a factor of 2–3 above the threshold value, the effects related to improved energy confinement disappear.  相似文献

The relationship between the nonlocal and nonstationary effects in electron heat transport processes in a weakly collisional plasma is investigated by considering the problem of the relaxation of a thermal perturbation as an example. It is shown that, for small-scale perturbations, the electron thermal conductivity depends not only on the temperature scale length but also on time. The consequence is that there exist two qualitatively different characteristic relaxation regimes of thermal perturbations on small and large scale lengths. As a result, the evolution of hot spots in laser plasmas should be described with allowance for the nonstationary nature of electron heat transport. In the course of this evolution, relaxation on the collisional kinetic time scale is clearly seen to change into relaxation on the collisional hydrodynamic time scale.  相似文献

Regulation of the photosynthetic electron transport chain   总被引:20,自引:1,他引:19
The regulation of electron transport between photosystems II and I was investigated in the plant Silene dioica L. by means of measurement of the kinetics of reduction of P700 following a light-to-dark transition. It was found that, in this species, the rate constant for P700 reduction is sensitive to light intensity and to the availability of CO2. The results indicated that at 25 °C the rate of electron transport is down-regulated by approximately 40–50% relative to the maximum rate achievable in saturating CO2 and that this down-regulation can be explained by regulation of the electron transport chain itself. Measurements of the temperature sensitivity of this rate constant indicated that there is a switch in the rate-limiting step that controls electron transport at around 20 °C: at higher temperatures, CO2 availability is limiting; at lower temperatures some other process regulates electron transport, possibly a diffusion step within the electron transport chain itself. Regulation of electron transport also occurred in response to drought stress and sucrose feeding. Measurements of non-photochemical quenching of chlorophyll fluorescence did not support the idea that electron transport is regulated by the pH gradient across the thylakoid membrane, and the possibility is discussed that the redox potential of a stromal component may regulate electron transport. The photosynthetic electron transport chain in Rhodopseudomonas capsulata cells was investigated by studying light-induced noncyclic electron transport from external donors to O2. Two membrane preparations with opposite membrane polarity, heavy chromatophores and regular chromatophores, were used to characterize this electron transport. It was shown that with lipophylic electron donors such as dichloroindophenol, diaminobenzidine, and phenazine methosulfate the electron transport activities were similar in both types of chromatophores, whereas horse heart cytochrome c, K4Fe(CN)6, 3-sulfonic acid phenazine methosulfate, and ascorbate, which cannot penetrate the membrane, were more active in the heavy chromatophores than in the regular chromatophores. Partial depletion of cytochrome c2 from the heavy chromatophores caused a decrease in the light-induced O2 uptake from reduced dichloroindophenol or ascorbate. The activity could be restored with higher concentrations of dichloroindophenol or with purified cytochrome c2 from Rps. capsulata. It is assumed that in the heavy chromatophores the artificial electron donors are oxidized on the cytochrome c2 level which faces the outside medium. However, cytochrome c2 is not exposed to the outside medium in the regular chromatophores. Therefore, only lipophylic donors would interact with cytochrome c2 in this system, while hydrophylic donors would be oxidized by another component of the electron transport chain which is exposed to the external medium. Studies with inhibitors of photophosphorylation show that antimycin A enhances the light-dependent electron transport to O2 whereas 1:10 phenanthroline inhibited the reaction, but dibromothymoquinone did not affect it. It is assumed that a nonheme iron protein is taking part in this electron transport but not a dibromothymoquinone-sensitive quinone. The terminal oxidase of the light-dependent pathway is different from the two oxidases of the respiratory chain. The ratio between electrons entering the system and molecules of O2 consumed is 4, which means that the end product of O2 reduction is H2O.  相似文献

The problem of describing charged particle transport in hot plasma under the conditions in which the ratio of the electron mean free path to the gradient length is not too small is one of the key problems of plasma physics. However, up to now, there was a deficit of the systematic interpretation of the current state of this problem, which, in most studies, is formulated as the problem of nonlocal transport. In this review, we fill this gap by presenting a self-consistent linear theory of nonlocal transport for small plasma perturbations and an arbitrary collisionality from the classical highly collisional hydrodynamic regime to the collisionless regime. We describe a number of nonlinear transport models and demonstrate the application of the nonclassical transport theory to the solution of some problems of plasma physics, first of all for plasmas produced by nanosecond laser pulses with intensities of 1013–1016 W/cm2.  相似文献

Cytochrome c2 was removed by washing from heavy chromatophores prepared from Rhodopseudomonas capsulata cells. The easy removal of the cytochrome could indicate that it was attached on the outside of the membrane. Therefore, the membrane was probably oriented inside out in relation to the membrane of regular chromatophores, from which cytochrome c2 could not be removed. Washing of the heavy chromatophores caused loss of photphosphorylation activity. The activity was restored to the resolved heavy chromatophores by the supernatant obtained during the washing or by the native cytochrome c2, which was found to be the active component in this supernatant. The activity could not be restored by other c-type cytochromes. Ascorbate, which enhanced photophosphorylation activity in the heavy chromatophores at the optimal concentration of 8 mm, restored this activity to the washed heavy chromatophores, but at an optimum concentration of 50 mm. Cytochrome c2 and dichlorophenol indophenol reduced the optimum of the ascorbate concentration to 7 mm. This might indicate that the effect of ascorbate is mediated through cytochrome c2. Washing the heavy chromatophores caused 70% loss of the light-induced electron transport from ascorbate and from ascorbate-reduced dichlorophenol indophenol to O2. However, this effect was only observed with the lower concentrations of ascorbate and the dye. The activity was restored either by the supernatant obtained from the washing or by various c-type cytochromes, reduced by ascorbate. Washing the heavy chromatophores did not affect succinate oxidation in the dark. It is suggested that cytochrome c2 is one of the cytochromes catalyzing the photosynthetic cyclic electron transport, as has been seen from its high specificity in the reconstitution experiments. Light can induce oxidation of various c-type cytochromes and other redox reagents. However, reduction was specific for cytochrome c2 from Rps. capuslata, since it was the only one which could be both reduced and oxidized as required from a component which is part of a cyclic electron transport chain. It is also suggested that cytochrome c2 was not part of the succinate oxidase system.  相似文献
