Current study reports the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) of three marine fish species collected from the fishermen catches covering three seasons i.e., rainy, autumn and winter between June, 2016 and February, 2017. Fishermen caught the species using beach seine net (3.5 cm mesh size) and set bag net (0.5 cm mesh size) up to 200 m far away from the shoreline. The LWRs for fish species were W = 0.0180TL3.192 for A. longispinnis, W = 0.0109TL2.971 for R. russeliana and W = 0.0098TL2.942 for C. neglecta with their r2 values of 0.971, 0.962 and 0.997, respectively.  相似文献

This study reports the length‐weight relationships (LWRs) of Acrossocheilus beijiangensis Wu & Lin, 1977 and Barbodes semifasciolatus (Günther, 1868) from the upper reaches of Beijiang River, Guangdong Province, China. Sample sizes for the two fish species were 335 for A. beijiangensis and 106 for B. semifasciolatus. Fishes were collected on a monthly basis between November 2013 and December 2014 using gill nets (30 m long × 1.2 m high, mesh‐size 1.5 cm) and fish cages (mesh‐size 0.5 cm). LWRs were established as W = 0.0052L3.3249 (r2 = .9696) for A. beijiangensis and W = 0.0088L3.2405 (r2 = .9469) for B. semifasciolatus. No previous information is available on LWRs for these two species in FishBase.  相似文献

Presented are the relationship between standard length (SL) and weight (W) for 12 fish species in Tibet, China, representing three families and six genera from the Lhasa River. All fish samples were collected by either electro‐shocker (12 V, 200 Hz), fish cages (mouth opening: 40 × 40 cm2, 5 m), or drift gillnets (3 × 1.5 m; mesh‐size: 3 cm to 8 cm) from different areas in the Lhasa River Basin, August and September 2015. Parameter b ranged from 2.88 to 3.29, and all correlation coefficient (r2) values were higher than 0.95. Length–weight relationships (LWRs) for three of the species as well as one maximum length are first reports for FishBase.  相似文献

As one of the largest Southeast Asian rivers, flowing through China, Myanmar, and Thailand, the Nujiang (Salween) River contains a unique and rich diversity of fish species. In the present study, we investigated the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of four fish species (Pteronemacheilus meridionalis, Devario shanensis, Exostoma gaoligongense, and Glyptothorax granosus) collected from the lower reaches of the Nujiang River and its tributaries (24.175N~25.842N, 98.861E~98.903E), including the Mengboluo, Kungong, Luomingba and Laowo rivers in southwest China. Specimens were collected by using drift gill nets (100 m length × 1.5 m depth or 3 m depth, mesh-size: 1 cm-5 cm), cast nets (6.5 m, mouth opening: 35 × 45 cm2, mesh-size: 4 mm) , and an electric shocker apparatus (12 V, 200 Hz) from different regions in the Nujiang River basin in September and October 2019 and June and September 2020. Before the collected fishes were placed in formalin, standard length (SL) and net weight (W) were measured respectively to the nearest 0.1 cm and 0.1g, respectively. Based on searches of the FishBase database and other relevant scientific literature, this study provides a new record of maximum size for P. meridionalis and LWRs for the four fish species.  相似文献

The present study shows the length–weight relationships (LWR) for 11 stream fish species from Anapu River Basin, in eastern Amazon, Pará State, Brazil. Samplings were carried out in October and November 2010, 2012 and 2013, and fishes were collected using hand nets of 55 cm of diameter and 2 mm mesh size. Fixed specimens were measured for standard length (cm) and total weight (g). Allometric coefficients b varied from 2.606 to 3.335 and coefficients of determination (R2) varied from 0.902 to 0.986. Shrinkage effect must be considered in future investigations in order to provide a correction factor.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were investigated for three fish species occurring in the Mali Hka River and Nmai Hka River. Fish were collected monthly from five sites between January and May 2009, using gill nets in the main river and electrofishing in tributaries (gill nets of three types: (a) = 10 m long, 0.5 m depth, 0.5 cm mesh size); (b) = 15 m long, 1 m depth, 2.0 cm mesh size; and (c) = 20 m long, 1.5 m depth, 6.0 cm mesh size. Soaking time for all was 24 hr). The LWRs for Botia histrionica Blyth, 1860, Crossocheilus burmanicus Hora, 1936 and Schizothorax grahami (Regan, 1904) are given in Table 1 along with the appropriate statistics for the parameters a and b of the equation as well as the confidence intervals and the correlation coefficient. All values of parameter b ranging from 2.57 for Botia histrionica Blyth, 1860 and 3.19 for Crossocheilus burmanicus Hora, 1936 (in all cases r2 > 0.96). A new total length has been recorded for Schizothorax grahami (Regan, 1904) when comparing with records given in the international electronic databank FishBase (Froese & Pauly, 2018).  相似文献

This study evaluated the length-weight relationships (LWRs) for three teleost fish species sampled from the Stung Russei Chrum River basin, Kingdom of Cambodia. The fish were collected during two dry seasons (April 2019 and November 2019) and one rainy season (October 2018) using monofilament trammel nets (2–12 cm mesh size), cast net (mesh size 2 cm) and scoop-nets (mesh size with 0.3 cm). Results showed that all fitted regressions were highly significant and the coefficients of determination (r2) were high. This study expanded the value of maximum total length for Cyclocheilichthys apogon and Poropuntius laoensis while reported the wider ranges of total mass for Poropuntius laoensis. Moreover, our present study also provided the novel LWRs records for Hemibagrus filamemtus.  相似文献

Fish specimens were captured by a commercial bottom trawler at a depth of 50–80 m from Iskenderun Bay (Hatay, Turkey) between December 2017 and May 2018. The bottom trawl gear used was equipped with a 44 mm stretched mesh size net at the cod-end. Blind side and eyed side otolith lengths (OL), otolith breadths (OB) and otolith weights (OW) were measured from each specimen to the nearest 0.001 mm and 0.0001g respectively. A total of 110 fish (43 females and 67 males) were collected. Total length ranged from 20.8 to 28.2 cm and 68.0 to 166.1 g (males) and 21.1 to −28.5 cm and 74.5 to 201.4 g (females). The coefficients of determination between fish weight and otolith weight, and total length and otolith weight (sexes combined) were found as R2 = .7694 (0.77) and R2 = .6274 (0.63), respectively. A moderate positive relationship between the total length-otolith dimensions, and fish weight-otolith dimensions, was also demonstrated.  相似文献

Length–weight relationships (LWRs) were estimated for nine freshwater fish species collected three times using a scoop net (mesh size 0.3–0.5 cm), cast net (mesh size 1–1.5 cm) and gillnet (mesh size 2.5–4.5 cm) from six rivers of the Western Ghats of India during August 2017–October 2018. Oilfish, escolar, snake mackerel (order Aulopiformes, family Gempylidae), and longnose lancetfish (order Perciformes, family Alepisauridae) sampled from the western North Atlantic and the Gulf of Mexico were analyzed for length–weight and length–length relationships. These species are encountered as occasional bycatch of pelagic longline fisheries. The fish (161 specimens, 19.0–149.1 cm TL) were collected over a 3‐year period (January 2007–January 2010) from pelagic longline gear targeting swordfish and tuna. For each species, 95% confidence limits (CI) of parameters b and log a and regression coefficients (r2) were calculated for log‐transformed length–weight relationships. The length–weight parameter b for all species ranged from 2.881 to 3.358, with regression coefficients (r2) ranging from 0.75 to 0.98. Linear relationships between fork lengths, standard lengths, and total lengths were also calculated.  相似文献

The length–weight relationships (LWRs) for 15 fish species from the Three Gorges Reservoir (TGR) were described in this paper. Specimens were collected using gill nets (mesh size: 6, 8, 10, 12 cm), cage net (mesh size: 1 cm), benthic fyke net (mesh size: 1 cm), hook longlines (80 m long, 3 barbless hooks per meter line) and electrofishing (power: 1,500 w; distance of electrodes: 1–2 m; water depth: 0.2–1.0 m; water area: 1–2 m2; catch by dip net [mesh size: 0.4 cm]) at four sections of the TGR, monthly in June–August and October–November in 2017 and 2018. The first LWR reference for Zacco acutipinnis (Bleeker, 1871), Discogobio brachyphysallidos Huang, 1989, Squalidus nitens (Günther, 1873), Leptobotia pellegrini Fang, 1936, Sinibotia reevesae (Chang, 1944), Pseudobagrus tenuifurcatus (Nichols, 1931), Pseudobagrus medianalis (Regan, 1904), Liobagrus marginatoides (Wu, 1930), Glyptothorax fokiensis (Rendahl, 1925), and Ctenogobius szechuanensis (Liu, 1940) and new maximum total length for 12 species are provided.  相似文献

Length-weight relationships (LWRs) were estimated for seven small indigenous cyprinid fish species including Securicula gora, Osteobrama cotio, Esomus lineatus, Pethia gelius, Megarasbora elonga, Gonialosa manmina and Glossogobius aureus occurring in the Kaptai Lake, Bangladesh. Fish were collected monthly basis between March and October, 2018 from fishermen catches landed in the fish landing center, Rangamati. Fishermen operated lift net (mesh size < 0.5 cm), punti net (mesh size < 0.5 cm) and cast net (mesh size < 0.5 cm) for capturing these species. The value of exponent b ranged between 2.769 and 3.212 and regression parameter r2 was between 0.926 and 0.992. New maximum total lengths were recorded for E. lineatus and G. manmina in this study.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for nine fish species occurring in the Nujiang River. Fish were collected using gill nets, including two nets of 1.0 m depth (100 m long; mesh size 0.5 cm), two nets of 1.0 m depth (150 m long; mesh size 2.0 cm) and two nets reaching 1.5 m depth (mesh size 6.0 cm). Gill nets were set over night including different habitats (riffles and pools, vegetated and non vegetated zones) from four sections in July of the following 2 years: 2004 and 2008. The LWRs presented here include for all nine studied species (Pseudexostoma brachysoma Chu, 1979, Creteuchiloglanis gongshanensis [Chu, 1981], Glyptothorax zanaensis Wu, He & Chu, 1981, Glyptothorax dorsalis Vinciguerra, 1890, and Glyptothorax trilineatus Blyth, 1860, Schizothorax gongshanensis Tsao, 1964, Schizothorax meridionalis Tsao, 1964, Placocheilus cryptonemus Cui & Li, 1984, and Schistura longa [Zhu, 1982]), and new maximum standard length of four species not yet reported in the literature.  相似文献

Dongjiang River, a main tributary of the Pearl River, is geographically situated in South China. The present study describes the length–weight relationships (LWRs) of six fish species (Acrossocheilus paradoxus, Barbodes semifasciolatus, Onychostoma elongatum, Microphysogobio fukiensis, Microphysogobio kiatingensis, Metzia lineata) from the headstream region of the river including five Chinese endemic species (A. paradoxus, B. semifasciolatu, O. elongatum, Mi. fukiensis, Mi. kiatingensis). Fish species of five genera of the same family were collected quarterly from April 2012 to October 2014 by using non‐selective fishing gears: drag nets (5 m, mesh‐size 3 cm), drift gillnets (30 × 15 m, mesh‐size 5 mm), fish cages (4 m, mouth opening 40 × 40 cm), scoop nets (mesh‐size 0.5‐1 cm), and electro‐fishing (12V, 200 Hz). The parameter a and b in the LWR equations (W = a Lb) ranged from 0.0014 to 0.0228, and 2.89 to 3.18, respectively. Compared with FishBase, this study provides the first LWR records for four cyprinids (A. paradoxus, B. semifasciolatu, O. elongatum, Me. lineata) and a new record of maximum body length for O. elongatum.  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for 4 deep water fish species from Visakhapatnam coast, India. Specimens were collected fortnightly between December 2013 and November 2015 from commercial trawls at Visakhapatnam fish landing centre (16.98°N–20.2°N, Long.82.19°–86.53°E). Individuals were captured between 100 and 300 m depth with shrimp trawl net (head rope length: 37–46 m and cod end mesh size: 30–40 mm). Total length (TL) (nearest to 0.1 cm) and body weights (nearest to 0.1 g) were taken each individual. All LWRs were significant with r2 values ranged from 0.958 for Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843 to 0.983 for Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and “b” values ranged from 2.832 for U. bicinctus to 3. 402 Synodus indicus (Day, 1873).This study provides a new maximum length data for three species (Uranoscopus bicinctus Temminkc & Schlegel, 1843; Uranoscopus chinensis Guichenot, 1882 and Uranoscopus marmoratus Cuvier, 1829).  相似文献

Length-weight relationships (LWRs) were assessed from four fish species in Hei River in northwest China. All specimens were collected using (fishing1 km along the river and 3 meters along the river bank) and netting (gill nets, nets: 30 × 1.2 m; mesh size: 3 × 3 cm) and shrimp cages (nets: 20.0 × 0.5 × 0.4m; mesh size: 0.5 cm) seasonally from April 2019 to October 2020. The gill nets and shrimp cages were soaked in water in the afternoon and pulled in around 10 a.m. the next day after an overnight stay. These specimens were measured for total length (L, 0.1 cm) and body weight (W, 0.1 g) while the specimens were fresh. The parameters for the LWRs were estimated with the basic statistical analyses. The study provided the new maximum total length for Gymnocypris chilianensis (21.0 cm) and Triplophysa tenuis (17.0 cm).  相似文献

Length‐weight relationships (LWRs) were determined for three fish species, Schizothorax lantsangensis (Tsao, 1964), Schizothorax lissolabiatus (Tsao, 1964) and Schizopygopsis anteroventris (Wu & Tsao, 1989), from the Tibet reach of the Lancang River, China (N 29°06′–31°30′, E 96°57′–98°38′). Specimens were collected in April and September 2017. The specimens were caught with drifting gillnets (mesh size 2.5 cm and 7.0 cm). The b values of these three fish species ranged from 2.974 to 3.075. The high r2 values (all > .980) indicate that these relationships will be appropriate for use in fisheries management of these species.  相似文献
