Several bicyclic amides and esters of dialkylamino acids were prepared. Their activities against a multiresistant strain of Plasmodium falciparum and against Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense (STIB 900) were examined. Structure–activity relationships were discussed. Particularly the ester compounds showed good antiplasmodial and antitrypanosomal activity and a single compound was tested in vivo against Plasmodium berghei.  相似文献

Cultures of Lemna paucicostata 6746 were exposed to a single96-hr dark period followed by continuous illumination at 24?1?C.Flowering percentage increased to a maximum 3 days after theend of the dark period and then fell off to 0% on the 5th day.Among 20 amino acids and 2 amides tested, addition of asparagine, aspartate, glutamate, -alanine, glycine and serine clearly increasedthe flowering percentages and retarded the regression of floralbuds by 2–3 days. These substances given after the endof the long dark period were more effective than those givenduring the dark period, suggesting that they favored the flower-producingprocess following the inductive dark process. On the other hand,if the above amino acids or amide were applied under repeatedlight-dark cycles, they shortened the critical dark period by1–2 hr and almost completely nullified the light-breakeffect. They seem to promote the flower-inductive dark process, too. Glutamate, for instance, was effective even at 5 µM, whilethis amino acid is found in the plant body in large quantities. The mechanism of flower promotion by these amino acids and amideremains unknown. Nutrient status effects on loss of amides and amino acids from pine roots   总被引:12,自引:0,他引:12
G. D. Bowen 《Plant and Soil》1969,30(1):139-142
Summary Loss of amides and amino acids from pine roots was two and a half times greater from roots grown in phosphate-deficient nutrient solution than from those grown in complete nutrient solution and ten times greater than from plants grown in nitrogen-deficient solution. The major factor in increased loss from phosphate-deficient plants was an increase in free amides and amino acids in these plants. Increased amide and amino acid loss from phosphate-deficient plants may have important consequences in micro-organism—plant interactions.  相似文献

New amides of different fatty acids from the C18, C20, and C22 series with dopamine were synthesized. Pharmacological characterization in binding assays with rat brain membrane preparations and in the 'tetrad' of cannabinoid behavioral tests showed that, for these compounds, cannabinoid-like activity was dependent on the fatty acid moiety. Our data demonstrate that polyenoic fatty acid amides with dopamine comprise a new family of synthetic cannabimimetics.  相似文献
