Summary The fine structure of external enamel epithelium, stellate reticulum and stratum intermedium in primary tooth germs (bell stage) from four human foetuses was investigated.Characteristically, the cells of the differentiated external enamel epithelium, stellate reticulum and stratum intermedium exhibit many free ribosomes, few rough endoplasmic reticulum cisterns, well-developed Golgi complexes, many coated and smooth vesicles, often in relation to the cell membranes, and many bundles of tonofilaments. The cells are connected by numerous desmosomes and gap junctions.A parallel differentiation of stratum intermedium — external enamel epithelium, and the ameloblast layer is demonstrated. The morphology of the cells of the three layers indicates that these have secretory, transport and supporting functions.  相似文献

Tooth enamel in the dermal teratoma is constructed very much like normal human tooth enamel, but is relatively less mineralized because of low phosphate supply. Prism bands are not present; the reasons for this are not clear. In the inner half of the enamel are numerous lumpy aggregates budded off from the tissue of the enamel organ. Enamel in the vicinity of these aggregates is abnormally constructed.  相似文献

It was demonstrated in chronic experiments on cats that stimulation of certain midbrain regions decreased or fully depressed the pain reaction evoked by dental pulp stimulation. The antinociceptive effect depending on the parameters of the brain stimulation was shown in differential change of the separate motor and vegetative and emotional - behaviour components, forming a general pain reaction. A poststimulation analgesia was revealed and the dynamic of restoration of different pain manifestations after the cessation of brain stimulation was traced. Possible mechanism of the realization of the antinociceptive effect are discussed.  相似文献

Primary sensory trigeminal neurons supplying the dental pulp of incisors in rats were labelled by retrograde axonal transport. Using an auto-metallographic intensification procedure, 48 hrs. after injection of wheat-germ colloidal gold in the pulp, gold particles were detected in the cytoplasm of the neurons as black granulations. Glutamate was found in 45-60% of the neurons by submitting ganglion slices to an anti-glutamate immuno-serum revealed by immunocytochemistry. Among the neurons supplying the dental pulp of incisors by their peripheral process, 70% are Glu+, 30% Glu-. These observations suggest that the population of neurons supplying the dental pulp is not functionally homogeneous and that Glu- neurons use a different neurotransmitter. The coexistence of Glu+ and Glu- neurons could also indicate that glutamate expression is modulated during the life of these neurons.  相似文献

Enamel mineralization relies on Ca2+ availability provided by Ca2+ release activated Ca2+ (CRAC) channels. CRAC channels are modulated by the endoplasmic reticulum Ca2+ sensor STIM1 which gates the pore subunit of the channel known as ORAI1, found the in plasma membrane, to enable sustained Ca2+ influx. Mutations in the STIM1 and ORAI1 genes result in CRAC channelopathy, an ensemble of diseases including immunodeficiency, muscular hypotonia, ectodermal dysplasia with defects in sweat gland function and abnormal enamel mineralization similar to amelogenesis imperfecta (AI). In some reports, the chief medical complain has been the patient’s dental health, highlighting the direct and important link between CRAC channels and enamel. The reported enamel defects are apparent in both the deciduous and in permanent teeth and often require extensive dental treatment to provide the patient with a functional dentition. Among the dental phenotypes observed in the patients, discoloration, increased wear, hypoplasias (thinning of enamel) and chipping has been reported. These findings are not universal in all patients. Here we review the mutations in STIM1 and ORAI1 causing AI-like phenotype, and evaluate the enamel defects in CRAC channel deficient mice. We also provide a brief overview of the role of CRAC channels in other mineralizing systems such as dentine and bone.  相似文献

Fragments of axial organs of different echinoderms were cultivated together with the gonad epithelium in the diffusion chambers made of millipore filters impermeable for cells (VUFS). Under these conditions, the histogenesis of amoebocytes suffered definite changes: the number of middle amoebocytes increased 2-3 times and that of large amoebocytes decreased correspondingly. Similar results were obtained not only under the direct contact of two tissues, but also under the contact realized through the millipore filter impermeable for cells. Corticosteroid agents of vertebrates did not influence the histogenesis of amoebocytes in Echinodermata.  相似文献

Slightly etched prisms of human dental enamel surfaces were examined in the scanning electron microscope. The crystals in the central region of prisms showed a denser arrangement, similar to the crystals on the periphery, which determine their form here. A crevice-like space could be observed between the central and the peripheral region of a prism. The prisms on the enamel surface showed a wide variety in shape being either of fish-scale or key-hole form, in other places fully irregular. There was no uniform prism on a single tooth, and an interprismatic substance was never found. On the surface of a deciduous tooth a prismless enamel surface was observed consisting of edges of crystallites, which did not unite to prism formation.  相似文献

Any clinician dreams to obtain the regeneration of the destroyed organ for his patient. In the human being, the regeneration of complex structures is not possible, except the liver and the bone marrow, which can be regenerated because of the presence of adult stem cells in these tissues. The stem cells have two principal properties: they ensure their self-renewal and they have the ability to differentiate into several cellular types. Using specific markers allowing the identification of the stem cells in bone marrow, stem cells were observed in dental pulp tissues. Although the origin, the identification, and the localization of these stem cells of dental pulp remain under consideration, the optimism in research on stem cells permits to believe that the knowledge on dental stem cells will lead to their use in therapeutics.  相似文献

Peptidergic nerves in human dental pulp   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3
Summary The peptidergic innervation of human dental pulp was studied with indirect immunofluorescence and immunoperoxidase techniques. Pulpal nerve fibres displaying immunoreactivity for cholecystokinin, calcitonin gene-related peptide, C-terminal flanking peptide of neuropeptide tyrosine, leucine-enkephalin, methionine-enkephalin, neuropeptide K, neuropeptide tyrosine, peptide with N-terminal histidine and C-terminal isoleucine, somatostatin-28, substance P and vasoactive intestinal polypeptide were observed. Immunoreactive axon varicosities were detectable within radicular and coronal nerve trunks and within the nerve plexus of Raschkow in the para-odontoblastic region. Many peptidergic nerve fibres were observed in association with blood vessels of various sizes. Substance P- and calcitonin-gene-related peptide-immunoreactive axons were visible in the odontoblastic layer. The occurrence of VIP- and PHI-immunoreactive fibres lends support to the hypothesis that human tooth may be supplied by parasympathetic nerves. The immunocytochemical results here shown provide a morphological basis to previous experimental studies concerning the possible roles of neuropeptides in nociception mechanisms, control of the blood flow and modulation of the inflammatory response in dental tissues.  相似文献

Summary Occlusal intradentinal cavities, prepared in normal human premolars and third molars to be extracted for orthodontic reasons, were filled for 7 to 11 days with gutta percha. A superficial pulpitis with localized small abscesses developed in the pulp chamber. Under local anesthesia, 0.2 to 0.3 cc of sterile colloidal carbon was injected in the pulp horn and the teeth were extracted 1 to 3 h later. Lymphatic capillaries could thus be identified in the pulpal tissues. They were characterized by a thin endothelium with occasional large intercellular clefts, absence or incompleteness of basement membrane, absence of pericytes, absence of luminal red blood cells, and presence of a filamentous material between the endothelium and the surrounding collagen fibrils. Moreover, some structural variations were observed.  相似文献
