Oocysts of Isospora ernsti n. sp. and Isospora blagburni n. sp. are described from the black-capped bulbul Pycnonotus xanthopygos from Lincoln Park Zoo, Chicago, Illinois. The bird came from southwestern Africa seven years earlier. I. ernsti oocysts are ellipsoidal to bluntly ovoid, 28–38 × 23–31m (mean 34 × 28 m) and have a single-layered oocyst wall. Micropyle, oocyst residuum and polar granules are absent. Sporocysts are elongate ovoid, 24–30 × 11–16 m (mean 27×13 m). Stieda and substiedal bodies and sporocyst residuum are present. I. blagburni oocysts are spherical to subspherical. 21–28 × 19–26 m (mean 25 × 23 m) and have a single oocyst wall. Sporocysts are ovoid and 17–23 × 10–13 m (mean 20 × 12 m). Development of an L6 myoblast in vitro model of moniliformin toxicosis   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
L6 myoblasts were used as an in vitro model to investigate the role of moniliformin and its interaction with monensin in turkey knockdown syndrome and sudden death syndromes in poultry. Cell viability and microscopic and ultrastructural alterations noted in L6 myoblasts cultured in the presence of moniliformin (0.0–0.3 g/l) were compared to those observed in parallel cultures also containing one of the following compounds: selenium (0–0.004 ng/l), thiamine (0–0.3 g/l), or pyruvate (0–0.46 g/l). Marked dilation of the RER, membranous whorls, glycogen deposition, membrane-bound cytoplasmic inclusions and necrosis were observed in myoblasts exposed to 0.03/2-0.30 g moniliformin/l medium. Supplementation of medium with thiamine and pyruvate, or selenium, provided significant protection to cells exposed to 0.0–0.3 g/l or 0.0–0.15 g moniliformin/l, respectively. Dose-dependent differences in protein and ATP production were not detected. Myoblasts grown in medium containing 0–0.15 g moniliformin/l and 7.5–50.0 M A23187, beauvericin or monensin had degrees of cytotoxicity similar to parallel cultures receiving only an ionophore. L6 myoblasts were a useful model of moniliformin toxicosis. The findings of this study suggest cytotoxicity due to moniliformin in L6 myoblasts may be due in part to oxidative damage and altered pyruvate metabolism, and that moniliformin does not predispose myoblasts to ionophore toxicosis. This study supports the results of in vivo investigations in poultry that moniliformin and monensin do not act synergistically to induce knockdown or monensin toxicosis.  相似文献

Long-term monitoring (May 1990 – November 1994) of benthic macrofauna and sediment composition was undertaken to examine changes in community structure following the construction of a tidal barrage at the entrance to Sutton Harbour, Plymouth (South West England). The harbour has permanently anoxic sediments, below a depth of 3 cm, consisting mainly of silt with relatively high total metal concentrations in the m<63 m fraction for Cu (96 – 222 g g–1), Hg (0.7 – 2.0 g g–1), Pb (93 – 297 g g–1) and Zn (114 – 460 g g–1). Polychaete worms, particularly of the family Cirratulidae, dominated the 93 taxa that form the macrofauna of the fine sediments. Multi-dimensional scaling (MDS) identified significant changes, surpassing all seasonal variability, in benthic community structure between pre-construction and construction phases and the similarities percentages procedure (SIMPER) isolated the species differentiating pre- and post-construction samples. Principal components analysis (PCA) revealed changes in heavy metal concentrations and sediment size distribution, primarily between surveys encompassing the start of construction. Rank correlations between the biotic and abiotic similarity matrices (BIOENV) were highest for sediment Pb and Zn concentrations, indicating that these variables offered a potential explanation of the changes in community structure. The results demonstrate the sensitivity of the benthic community to man-induced change and the need for ecological factors to be accounted for in harbour development at other locations.  相似文献

Uptake kinetics of nitrogen derived from sewage–seawater mixtures (2.5–20% v/v effluent) were determined in the laboratory for Ulva rigida (Chlorophyceae) native from Bahía Nueva (Golfo Nuevo, Patagonia, Argentine). In terms of nitrogen concentration, experimental enrichment levels varied between 53.7 and 362.3M of ammonium and between 0.77 and 6.21M of nitrate+nitrite. Uptake rates were fitted to the Michaelis–Menten equation, with the following kinetic parameters: ammonium: Vmax = 591.2molg–1h–1, K s=262.3M, nitrate+nitrite: V max=12.9molg–1h–1, K s=3.5M). Both nutrients were taken up simultaneously, but ammonium incorporation was faster in all cases. The results show a high capability of Ulva rigida to remove sewage-derived nitrogen from culture media. In the field, most of the nitrogen provided by the effluent would be tied up in algal biomass, supporting low nitrogen levels found at a short distance away from the source.  相似文献

Summary Noradrenaline (NA) and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) accumulated on the proximal side of a ligature to the posterior salivary gland (PSG) nerves in the octopus PSG duct. The NA concentration continued to increase proximally up to 18 days after ligation when a level of 59 g/g was reached compared with 12 g/g distally and 16–18 g/g for the corresponding portions of the normal duct. The concentration of 5-HT after the same period was 8.5 g/g proximally and 0.7 g/g distally compared to 4–7 g/g for normal duct. Dopamine (DM) was undetectable either after ligation or in the non-ligated duct. Accumulations of dense-core synaptic vesicles were observed by electron microscopy in some of the axons on both sides of the ligature.The NA concentration in the gland shows a decrease 6–8 days post-ligation and by 16–18 days had fallen to 50% of the normal value. No change in the DM or 5-HT concentrations had occurred by this time. When the nerves had been ligated for 40 days the 5-HT level in the gland had also decreased but the DM concentration was comparable to control values. It is concluded that NA is the predominant aminergic neurotransmitter in the PSG nerves and that its transport from the brain to the gland is a continuous process.Ligating or cutting the PSG duct caused a decrease in diameter of the distal nerve bundles but many axons did not degenerate even after 40 days ligation. The continued existence of some of the axons may explain the slow depletion of monoamines from the gland. Morphological changes in the secretory cells of the glandular tubules were observed by light microscopy 40 days after interruption of the nerve supply. It is suggested that the PSG nerves are required for the maintenance of the glandular tubules.  相似文献

Summary The correlated responses in male and female sterility to 50 generations of individual selection for pupa weight in Tribolium were analyzed. Two replicate lines (S-lines) were selected for heavier pupa weight and stabilizing selection for pupa weight was practiced in two replicate control lines (C-lines). There was close agreement between replicates in both sets of lines for direct and correlated responses. The rate of inbreeding has been constant for all lines (approximately 0.5% per generation).Regression of generation means for pupa weight on generation of selection indicated a significant linear regression in the direct response for both lines. The linear increases of 46 and 55 g. per generation in the S-lines accounted for 98% of the variation among generations and the linear decreases of 5 and 10 g. per generation in the C-lines accounted for 70–90% of the variation in the generation means.Maximum likelihood estimators were used to calculate the frequency of male and female sterility for each generation and line. Average sterility in the base population ranged from about 4 to 12% for both sexes. Polynomial regressions of percent sterility on generation of selection showed that quadratic and higher order regressions were occasionally significant but accounted for a relatively small fraction of the total variation. In the two S-line replicates, linear regression coefficients of percent sterility on generation number were 0.16±.09 and 0.20±.07 for males and 0.72±.08 and 0.54±.08 for females, suggesting a larger correlated response in female than in male sterility. In the C-lines, linear regression coefficients were 0.02±.08 and –.12±.05 for males in the two replicates and –.05±.05 and –.05±.05 for females. Estimates of realized genetic correlations between pupa weight and sterility in the S-lines ranged from 0.04 to 0.14 for males and from 0.14 to 0.37 for females when the heritability of sterility was allowed to take on values from 0.05 to 0.25.Supported by NSF Grants G-1238 and GB-5987, NIH Grant GM-16074 and NIH Fellowship 1 FO2 GM4 5130-01.  相似文献

Summary Nuclear and cytoplasmic size (2) of acidophils in the pars distalis of adult male deer were measured and the data analyzed statistically with reference to the four classical seasons of the photoperiodic cycle and five periods and two events of the antler cycle. The seasons, and the respective mean cross-sectional areas of cell nuclei and cytoplasm, are: Spring (21 March–20 June; increasing photoperiod greater than 12 hours), 28.45 and 48.68 2; Summer (21 June–20 September; decreasing photoperiod greater than 12 hours), 27.81 and 44.25 2; Fall (21 September–20 December; decreasing photoperiod less than 12 hours), 30.40 and 45.07 2; Winter (21 December–20 March; increasing photoperiod less than 12 hours) 27.28 and 40.30 2. Beginning in late winter and early spring the components of the antler cycle, and the respective cross-sectional areas of cell nuclei and cytoplasm, are: Initial Antler Growth, 28.08 and 38.58 2; Growth of Velvet Antler Form, 28.93 and 50.61 2, Antlers Hardening, 27.53 and 40.83 2; Velvet Shedding, 29.03 and 53.20 2; Rutting Season, 29.95 and 44.97 2; Preparation for Shedding, 26.50 and 40.38 2; Antlers Recently Shed, 27.53 and 47.85 2. Shedding of boney antlers, growth of velvet antlers and increases in nuclear and cytoplasmic areas of acidophil cells in the pars distalis occur when the photoperiod is increasing. Construction and retention of hard antlers occur when photoperiod is decreasing. Juvenile and young adult specimens ofCarcinus maenas were kept in the laboratory under controlled conditions. The main organic constituents and their variations during the molt cycle were quantitatively determined.
1.  During postmolt the chitin concentration rises rapidly (20–74 mg/g dry weight) in parallel to the dry weight (120–293 mg/g fresh weight). Both decrease again before ecdysis (Fig. 1).
2.  The glycose level in the hemolymph (50–80 g/ml) shows no significant variation during the molt cycle (Fig. 2).
3.  The glycogen concentrations in integument, (14–180 mg/g dry weight), gills (5.5–66 mg/g dry weight), muscle (8.8–41 mg/g dry weight), heart (135–308 mg/g dry weight) and hemolymph (160–690 g/ml) reach their maximum values during the premolt stage. The highest glycogen content in the midgut gland (83 mg/g dry weight) is observed immediately before and after ecdysis. Glycogen storage in heart and hemolymph, can, account for about half of the glycogen stored in the midgut gland (Figs. 3,4 and 5).
4.  The lipid concentration in the hemolymph (120–440 g/ml) and in gills (33.6–70 mg/g dry weight) rises during the premolt stage (Figs. 6 and 7).
5.  The protein concentration in the hemolymph increased during premolt (9–31 mg/ml). The copper content (13–42 g/ml) varies in parallel to the protein concentration indicating that the proportion of hemocyanin to total proteins remains constant during the molting cycle (Fig. 8).

Summary The effects of acute injections of synthetic opiate peptides into the lateral cerebral ventricle of young adult male rats on cells of the intermediate lobe of the pituitary were studied. Met-enkephalin (100/g) injected into anesthetized rats, or 20 g beta-endorphin administered via a previously implanted cannula to unanesthetized animals, will lead to cell degranulation and often to expanded Golgi zones and prominent regions of rough endoplasmic reticulum in secretory cells when tissue is fixed 45–60 min after peptide administration. Treatment of animals with the opiate antagonist naloxone hydrochloride prior to enkephalin injection appeared to prevent the cellular changes elicited with peptide alone. Observations suggest that opiate peptides administered to the cerebrospinal fluid may stimulate release of pro-opiomelanocortin-peptide from pituitary cells.  相似文献

Summary Target cells for testosterone, dihydrotestosterone, and estradiol in the pituitary gland and genital tract of the male primate were localized by thaw-mount autoradiography, and high performance liquid chromatography was used to identify the metabolites of these steroids in cell nuclei. Castrated rhesus monkeys were injected with 3H-testosterone, 3H-dihydrotestosterone, or 3H-estradiol and killed 60 min later. In the anterior pituitary gland, fewer cells were labeled and less radioactivity was taken up by cell nuclei following the administration of either 3H-testosterone (4% of pars distalis cells and 5 dpm/g DNA) or 3H-dihydrotestosterone (5% of cells and 13 dpm/g DNA) than following the administration of 3H-estradiol (43% of cells and 214 dpm/g DNA). Most of the radioactivity in nuclei was in the form of the unmetabolized parent compound (78–94%). In prostate, seminal vesicles, and penis, 3H-dihydrotestosterone was the predominant form of nuclear radioactivity following both 3H-testosterone (67–90%) and 3H-dihydrostestosterone (94–97%) administration, and both androgens labeled epithelial and smooth muscle cells. In contrast, 3H-estradiol was taken up in unchanged form, by cell nuclei of the genital tract and it labeled connective tissue fibroblasts, but not epithelial cells. Thus, the distributions of target cells for androgens and estrogens were clearly different in all these tissues, and the uptake of testosterone resembled that of its androgenic rather than that of its estrogenic metabolite.  相似文献

This study addresses the temporal distribution of forms of phosphorus in the soil of a temporarily flooded riparian forest of the valley of the river Garonne (Southwest of France). A sequential extraction for forms of phosphorus of increasing chemical stability was used. During the study period (13 months), the forest was flooded a few days during March and May. In winter, resin-Pi concentration was high (26 g g–1) in comparison to spring values (<9 g g–1). NaHCO3-Po, NaHCO3-Pi or NaOH-Pi concentrations increased during winter (up to 74, 124 and 78 g g–1 respectively) and decreased significantly during spring (32, 44 and 32 g g–1 respectively). This pattern was attributed to simultaneous mineralization and plant uptake during the growing season and to the flood events (erosional processes and P-release). During summer and fall, resin-Pi concentration increased significantly (up to 26 g g–1 in October). NaHCO3-Po concentrations remained low during spring and summer (<33 g g–1), and increased significantly in fall (>45 g g–1 NaHCO3-Pi or NaOH-Pi increased in late spring or summer (90 g g–1 and 68 g g–1 respectively). Increasing concentrations of the labile forms during late spring or summer were ascribed to the warm temperature and soil dryness that limited plant growth. HCl-Pi increased regularly after the floods (174 g g–1 before the flood events to 254 g g–1 after the floods). Residual P presented a similar pattern i.e. 214 g g–1 and 279 g g–1 respectively before and after the flood events. This pattern was attributed to a progressive incorporation of flood deposits to the soil.  相似文献

The relationship of taurine to glutamate, and to other amino acids, has been examined in the occipital lobe of the developing rhesus monkey. During development taurine decreases in concentration (4.96 mol/g in fetus to 1.52 mol/g in adult) while glutamate increases (7.92 mol/g in fetus to 11.26 mol/g in adult). When the concentration of taurine is plotted against that of glutamate in fetal, neonatal and adult animals there is a significant correlation in the fetal (p<0.01) and adult (p<0.01) but not in the neonatal occipital lobe samples. This correlation in both fetal and adult brain is specific for these two amino acids. During a winter expedition to the western Barents Sea in March 2003, benthic amphipods of the species Anonyx sarsi were observed directly below pack ice. Only males and juveniles [16.0–37.0 mm long, 16.2–120.8 mg dry mass (DM)] were collected. Guts contained macroalgal fibres, fish eggs and flesh from large carrion. Amphipods had very low levels of total lipids (2.7–17.2% DM). Analysis of lipid biomarkers showed that some of the specimens had preyed on pelagic copepods. Individual respiration rates ranged over 0.4–1.7 ml O2 day–1 (mean: 1.2 ml, SD: 0.5 ml). Individual ammonia excretion rates varied between 7.8 g and 49.3 g N day–1 (mean: 30.7 g, SD: 15.2 g). The atomic O:N ratio ranged over 35 to 71 (mean: 55, SD: 14), indicating lipid-dominated metabolism. Mass-specific respiration ranged over 9.8–16.6 ml O2 day–1 g DM–1 (mean: 13.1 ml, SD: 2.2 ml). The metabolic rates of A. sarsi were twice as high as those of the truly sympagic amphipod Gammarus wilkitzkii, which is better adapted to the under-ice habitat by its energy-saving attached lifestyle. It is concluded that males and juveniles of A. sarsi were actively searching for food in the water column and at the ice underside, but that the nutritional status of the amphipods in late Arctic winter was generally very poor.  相似文献

Diurnal variation in hydrological variables and dissolved inorganic nutrients such as PO inf4 sup3– -P, N O inf2 sup– -N, NO inf3 sup– -N and NH inf4 sup+ -N were studied in three interconnected biotopes including freshwater, marine and mangrove brackish water of the Kakinada coastal zone, Andhra Pradesh. Samples were collected at intervals of 3 hours, for a period of 24 hours. In the marine environment salinity varied from 26 to 32 whereas in the mangrove waters it fluctuated from 12 to 20 and in both biotopes salinity showed bimodal type of oscillation. Dissolved oxygen content was high in the mangrove waters during day time but decreased rapidly during the night hours. In the marine environment POf4 p3–-P concentration varied from 0.345 to 1.195 g at l–1, NO inf3 sup– -N from 1.03 to 6.62 g at l–1 and NO inf2 sup– -N from 0.086 to 0.506 g at l–1. The highest and the lowest concentrations of PO inf4 sup3– -P, NO inf3 sup– -N, NO inf2 sup– -N recorded in the mangrove waters were 0.790 and 0.325 g at l–1, 7.10 and 1.60 g at l–1 and 0.278 and 0.060 g at l–1, respectively. The concentration of PO inf4 sup3– -P, NO inf3 sup– -N and NO inf2 sup– -N were high in the freshwater canal, the maximum and minimum values being 1.110 and 0.730 g at l–1, 26.40 and 9.98 g at l–1 and 0.520 and 0.252 g at l–1 respectively. The concentration of ammonia was relatively high in the mangrove water. Gross and net primary production in the mangrove water was 4 times higher than in the marine biotope. There was no export of dissolved nutrients from the mangrove environment to the adjacent marine waters.  相似文献

Summary Sensilla on legs and ovipositor of the moth Ostrinia nubilalis were investigated by light and scanning electron microscopy. The ovipositor is composed of two papillae densely packed with medium length mechanoreceptor sensilla (MRb: 80–160 m, n=420–460). Long mechanoreceptor sensilla (MRa: 250–300 m, n=20–24) and contact chemoreceptors (CRa: 30–40 m, n=20–28) are evenly distributed at the periphery of these papillae. Legs support contact chemoreceptors (CRa), scattered among the scales. The pretarsus structure of each leg includes a single contact chemoreceptor (125 m) inserted dorsally. The fifth tarsomere bears a ventral area without scales on which contact chemoreceptors are disposed in two parallel rows (CRb: 40–60 m). A sexual dimorphism was found in the number and density of these sensilla (females: mean = 5.3, SD=1.0; males: mean = 3.3, SD=0.7), and in the size of the sensory field. The possible involvement of these sensory structures in oviposition site selection is discussed.  相似文献

Purine and pyrimidine base and nucleoside levels were determined in adult human lumbar (CSF) and plasma by reversed-phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Guanine, thymine, cytosine and uracil were not detectable (<0.1 M) in human CSF or plasma. Adenine was detectable in plasma (0.3 M) but was not found in CSF (<0.2 M). Hypoxanthine and xanthine levels in CSF were each approximately 2.5 M. Plasma levels of hypoxanthine and xanthine were considerably lower (0.4–0.6 M). Purine and pyrimidine ribouncleosides in human CSF were less than or equal to 0.2 M with the exception of uridine which was present at concentrations of 2–3 M. Although low concentrations of thymidine and deoxyuridine (0.2 M) were present in human plasma, purine and pyrimidine deoxyribonucleosides were less than 0.1 M in human lumbar CSF.  相似文献

Three mannose-binding lectins were assayed in artificial diets for their toxic and growth-inhibitory effects on nymphal development of the peach-potato aphid Myzus persicae. The snowdrop (Galanthus nivalis) lectin GNA was the most toxic, with an induced nymphal mortality of 42% at 1500 g ml–1 (30 M) and an IC50 (50% growth inhibition) of 630 g ml–1 (13 M). The daffodil (Narcissus pseudonarcissus) lectin NPA and a garlic (Allium sativum) lectin ASA induced no significant mortality in the range 10–1500 g ml–1, but did result in growth inhibition of 59% (NPA) and 26% (ASA) at 1500 g ml–1 (40 M for NPA, 63 M for ASA). All three lectins were responsible for a slight but significant growth stimulation when ingested at 10 g ml–1, reaching +26%, +18% and +11% over the control values for the garlic lectin, the daffodil lectin and the snowdrop lectin, respectively. GNA, as well as the glucose/mannose binding lectin Concanavalin A, were also provided at sublethal doses throughout the life cycle of the aphids, and effects on adult performance were monitored. Adult survival was not significantly altered, but both lectins adversely affected total fecundity and the dynamics of reproduction, resulting in significant reduction in calculated r ms (population intrinsic rate of natural increase) on lectin-containing diets. These effects are discussed in relation to the use of transgenic plants expressing these toxic lectins for potential control of aphid populations.  相似文献

Concentrations of heavy metals commonly known to impact the environment and other related trace elements were quantified in the water bodies of nine Ethiopian rift-valley lakes and six rivers (their inflows) as well as in effluents from two factories. In about half of the samples the concentrations of As was 10–700 g l–1 and Se, ranged from 10 to 28 g l–1, were much higher than the maximum permissible level (MPL) according to international standards for drinking water. Mercury (Hg) was detected in four lakes and one river with high values ranging from 2 to 165 g l–1. Concentrations of Mo in three soda lakes were as high as 544–2590 g l–1. Iron (Fe) was found in high concentrations (567–4969 g l–1) in three lakes, which are known to be discolored from inorganic colloids. Levels of Cd, Pb, and Cr ranged between 5 and 9, 12 and 20 and 104 and 121 g l–1, respectively. The rest of the heavy metals analyzed, Ba, Cu, Mn, Ni and Zn, were either not detected in the samples or were found in much lower concentrations than the MPL for drinking water. Effluent from a tannery contained about 15, 141, 523, and 19 g l–1 of As, Cr, Fe, and Se, respectively, and effluent from a textile factory contained high concentrations of As (10.6), Hg (3.8) and Se (20) g l–1. Compared to more industrialized regions and other African lakes the concentrations of heavy metals in Ethiopian rift-valley lakes (with the exception of the soda lakes) and their inflows were low.  相似文献

Summary The lachrymal salt glands ofChelonia mydas were functional when hatchlings emerged from the nest. Osmotic concentrations up to 720 mosmol kg–1 were recorded in spontaneously produced tears (salt gland secretions). When injected with a Na+ load (1500–2700 mol (100 g)–1) newly emerged hatchlings produced tears ranging in osmotic concentration from 1000–1900 mosmol kg–1 with Na+ secretion rates from single glands of 200–475 mol (100 g·h)–1. In these circumstances the rate of sodium excretion, via the salt glands, was equivalent to the sodium content of 0.2 to 0.5 ml of sea water per hour. Since the apparent drinking rate of hatchlings within the first two days of entering sea water was approximately 0.5 to 1.7 ml per day, the excretion of Na+ imbibed by drinking is well within the secretory capacity of the lachrymal salt glands.In feeding hatchlings extraordinarily high Na+ secretion rates were induced by Na+ loading. Hatchlings which were loaded with Na+ by injection (1500–5400 mol (100 g)–1) produced tears having osmotic concentrations between 1500 and >2000 mosmol kg–1. The Na+ secretion rates from single glands were 750–4185 mol (100 g·h)–1 with extremely high short term rates of 10700 mol (100 g·h)–1 (50 mol min–1 for 28 g hatchlings).In terms of gland mass the highest long term secretion rate translates into 21 mmol of Na+ per gram of salt gland per hour and is the highest secretion rate yet recorded for a reptilian salt gland. This rate is almost three times the highest rate recorded for sea snakes (8 mmol g·h–1) and is similar to rates commonly observed in avian salt glands (25 mmol g·h–1).Secretion by the lachrymal salt glands was initiated by increased blood concentrations of Na+ or K+, K+ being as effective as Na+ but with the composition of the teras being virtually unchanged compared to tears from Na+ stimulated hatchlings. Synopsis Arsenic persists in Chautauqua Lake, New York waters 13 years after cessation of herbicide (sodium arsenite) application and continues to cycle within the lake. Arsenic concentrations in lake water ranged from 22.4–114.81 g l–1, = 49.0 ag l–1. Well water samples generally contained less than 10 g l–1 arsenic. Arsenic concentrations in lake water exceeded U.S. Public Health Service recommended maximum concentrations (10 g l–1) and many samples exceeded the maximum permissible limit (50 g l–1). Fish accumulated arsenic from water but did not magnify it. Fish to water arsenic ratios ranged from 0.4–41.6. Black crappie (Pomoxis nigromaculatus) contained the highest arsenic concentrations (0.14–2.04 g g–1 ), X = 0.7 g g–1) while perch (Perca flavescens), muskellunge (Esox masquinongy) and largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides) contained the lowest concentrations (0.02–0.13 g g–1). Arsenic concentrations in fish do not appear to pose a health hazard for human consumers.  相似文献
