The branching pattern of the deep branch (ramus profundus) of the ulnar nerve and its relation with the target were analyzed in the human hand by an improved dissection method. After sending off branches to the hypothenar muscles, the r. profundus branched off an ulnar stem and a radial stem to the fourth, to the third and to the second intermetacarpal spaces, respectively, in this order, and an ulnar stem to the first to become terminal branches. The ulnar stems included an ulnar interosseous branch and a superficial articular branch in addition to a lumbrical branch in the third and fourth intermetacarpal spaces. The radial stems included only a radial interosseous branch. The branching pattern of the ulnar stems as well as its topographical relationship with the radial stems indicated a fundamental spatial arrangement of the branches in the intermetacarpal spaces: the lumbrical, superficial articular, ulnar interosseous and radial interosseous branches were arranged fundamentally in this order from ulnar to radial in each space; the first three branches may form a common trunk. The present observations demonstrate that individual nerves in the extremities may have a regular branching pattern, contrary to most of the previous observations.  相似文献

Primary soft-tissue coverage for large palmar defects of the fingers is a difficult problem for cases in which homodigital or heterodigital flaps cannot be used. The aim of this study was to explore the vascular and neural anatomy of the midpalmar area to assess the possibility of reverse island flaps from this area. In 24 cadaver hands perfused with a silicone compound, the arterial pattern of the superficial palmar arch and common palmar digital artery was examined. The cutaneous perforating arteries and nerve branches supplying the midpalmar area were dissected, and the number, location, and arterial diameter of these branches were measured. In six other specimens, the common palmar digital artery was injected to determine the skin territory supplied by the artery. The superficial palmar arch contained the three common palmar digital arteries and its terminal branch coursed along the radial margin of the index metacarpus. This terminal branch had three to six cutaneous perforators (diameter range, 0.1 to 0.5 mm) and supplied the radial aspect of the midpalmar area located over the ulnar half of the adductor pollicis muscles. The midpalmar area was divided into two regions-the proximal and distal-according to the vascular distributions. The proximal region contained dense aponeurosis and thin subcutaneous tissue, and the cutaneous perforators were rather sparse (between three and nine) and had a small diameter (0.1 to 0.3 mm). The distal region, which had loose aponeurosis and abundant subcutaneous tissue, had a rich vascular supply from the common and proper digital artery. Perforating arteries of this region coursed frequently in an oblique fashion and the number of perforators (between eight and 15) and their arterial diameters (diameter range, 0.1 to 0.5 mm) were higher than those of the proximal region. The area of skin perfused by the common palmar digital artery was 5 x 3 cm at the distal midpalmar region. There were three to five cutaneous nerve branches from the palmar digital nerve supplying the midpalmar area. From this study, two different reverse flaps were proposed. First, a 5 x 2 cm flap from the distal midpalmar region was elevated on the basis of the common and proper palmar digital artery. Measurement of the rotation arc revealed that the pivot point of this flap was located at the proximal interphalangeal joint level and could cover the finger pulp of the digits. The second flap candidate was that from the radial aspect of the midpalm, which was supplied by the terminal branch of the superficial palmar arch. In studies with cadaver hands, connection of this artery with the deep arterial system enabled this flap to reach the thumb pulp. These flaps may be a useful reconstruction option for significant palmar soft-tissue loss of the fingers.  相似文献

Using stereoscopic angiography, the entire arterial system of the foot of the macaque was analyzed. The arteria saphena, instead of the a. tibialis anterior, reaches the dorsum of the foot, and its branches supply most of the foot. The dorsal arteries are dominant as far as the metatarsal spaces of the lateral four toes. The a. metatarsea dorsalis II showed a tendency to be the single dominant artery and to give rise to even the a. digitalis communis plantaris IV through the catella plantaris distalis. This tendency was observed more clearly in other macaques species than the Japanese monkey. The perforating branch at the second proximal metatarsal space forms the arcus plantaris profundus, which is accompanied by the deep branch of the nervus plantaris lateralis. Beneath the arch, the catella plantaris proximalis is formed on the metatarsal bones among the perforating branches of the aa. metatarseae dorsales. The a. tibialis posterior forms the arcus plantaris superficialis, whose thin branches commonly enter the aa. digitales communes plantares.  相似文献

Vascular anatomy of the forearm muscles: a study of 50 dissections   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
This anatomic study is based on 50 adult cadaver upper extremities. The general disposition of the forearm arteries and muscles and the main anatomic variations encountered are specified. Constant existence of an "anterior oblique artery" satellite of the pronator teres was established. The median nerve artery was principally dedicated to the flexor digitorum superficialis and participated appreciably in the constitution of palmar arches in only one case. A supernumerary intermedial radial muscle was found only in two cases. The abductor pollicis longus and extensor pollicis brevis appeared as a single muscular and vascular unit in 84 percent of cases. All the arteries destined for muscles were reckoned whatever their caliber might be. Despite its limitations, this study confirms the very great number of the forearm muscular pedicles. Each forearm contained an average of 264 muscular vascular pedicles. The systematization of the origins and destinations of the 13,158 muscular pedicles is described in a numbered manner for each of the 20 normal forearm muscles and for each of the 12 studied arterial segments. The pronator teres was likely to be supplied by all the anterior arteries of the upper limb. The flexor carpi radialis had one or two dominant pedicles originated from the recurrens ulnaris anterior, recurrens ulnaris, or ulnaris-interossea communis arteries, and many transversal branches originated from the radial artery. The flexor carpi ulnaris was supplied in its proximal third by the recurrens ulnaris posterior artery and in its distal two-thirds by many branches of ulnar artery.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

The blood supply of the corpus callosum is studied in 20 brains by injecting the vascular system with gelatinous Indian ink. The arterial vascularization derives mainly from the anterior cerebral arteries, accessed from the median artery of the corpus callosum or from the terminal and choroidal branches of the posterior cerebral arteries. The various arteries give off perforating branches which are direct or indirect, short, of middle length or long. All these arteries concentrate on the peripheral wall of the corpus callosum. Inside of it these various arteries give off numerous terminal and collateral branches running between the nervous fibres and forming a characteristic vascular network which nourishes the capillary network. The venous vascularization of the corpus callosum is tributary to the deep venous system of the brain and concentrates on the central wall of the commissure.  相似文献

Study of the arterial patterns of the hand in Macaca fuscata, especially those of the deep palmar arterial arches and their correlating arteries, by three-dimensional arteriographic analysis revealed the following: (1) The deep palmar arterial arches are formed by the perforating branches of the 2nd dorsal metacarpal artery, and they are usually composed of two proximal arches (catella volaris proximalis and arcus volaris profundus) and one distal arch (catella volaris distalis). (2) In the 3rd and 4th metacarpal interosseous spaces, the intermetacarpal arteries arise from the catella volaris proximalis, and the arcus volaris profundus has palmar metacarpal arteries which descend along the palmar side of each metacarpal bone. (3) There is a definite regularity in the formation of the intermetacarpal arteries between the catella volaris proximalis and the catella volaris distalis and of the palmar metacarpal arteries between the arcus volaris profundus and the catella volaris distalis.  相似文献

Thorough knowledge about the origin of the cystic artery is surgically important, especially when intraoperative or post-operative bleeding occurs in the gallbladder fossa. The arterial supply of the gallbladder was studied in 81 livers. The gallbladder was supplied by one cystic artery in 86% and by two arteries in 14% of cases. When a single artery was present, it originated from the right hepatic artery in 53% of livers. Other origins included the anterior or the posterior sectional hepatic artery, the replacing right hepatic artery, and in 5% of cases, segmental arteries for segments 4, 5, 6 and 8. When two cystic arteries supplied the gallbladder, both most commonly originated from the right hepatic artery (7% incidence). In 1% of cases, a subsegmental branch for segment 6 and a subsegmental branch for segment 5 respectively, originated from the cystic artery.  相似文献

Injury to the triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) is frequently implicated in the etiology of ulnar-sided wrist pain. This study examines the nervous anatomy of the TFCC using a nitric acid maceration technique and attempts to correlate this information with known tear patterns. Ten fresh frozen cadaveric specimens were studied in detail. Gross dissection of each upper-extremity specimen included removal of all flexor and extensor tendons. After identification and labeling with permanent color of the ulnar nerve, dorsal sensory branch of the ulnar nerve, posterior interosseous nerve, anterior interosseous nerve, and median nerve, an en bloc excision of the distal radioulnar region was performed. Digestion of the soft tissue was performed with nitric acid at sequential concentrations of 50% and 33% for 9 of 10 specimens. The digestion was halted by immersing the specimen in a mixture of 10% formaldehyde and 1% glycerine. After removal of bone, the specimens were fixed in paraffin, sectioned, and stained with hematoxylin and eosin. Nine of the 10 specimens were studied microscopically to determine the contribution of the grossly identified nerves to each zone of the triangular fibrocartilage complex as defined by Palmer's classification of acute TFCC tears. The anterior interosseous, median, and superficial radial nerves did not contribute to the innervation of the TFCC. The intraarticular course of the peripheral nerves could not be defined in the one specimen that was not digested with nitric acid. Nitric acid maceration is a rediscovered technique for identifying the nervous anatomy of soft tissues. The study showed that the triangular fibrocartilage complex is innervated by branches of the posterior interosseous, ulnar, and dorsal sensory ulnar nerves in a fairly consistent manner. Improved treatment of TFCC tears may result from an enhanced understanding of the supporting structures' innervation and mechanical function.  相似文献

The development of the vasculature of the pectoral fin in the Australian lungfish, Neoceratodus forsteri, was studied by the dye-injection method. Only a single primitive subclavian artery appears from the dorsal aorta for the fin anlage, and it passes laterally through the postaxial region of the structure. The venous channel draining into the posterior cardinal vein is located in the preaxial region medially. As development proceeds, the arteriovenous arrangement in the pectoral fin anlage changes as follows: 1) one artery and one venous plexus, 2) two arteries and one vein, 3) three arteries and one vein, 4) four arteries and one vein, 5) three arteries and two veins, and 6) two arteries (radial and ulnar) and three veins (radial, ulnar, and ulnar marginal). The fin anlage through embryonic first rotation has gradually changed its postaxial margin to face dorsally and its preaxial margin to face ventrally. The second rotation causes the original preaxial margin to become dorsal and the original postaxial margin to become ventral. As a result, the radial and ulnar arteries are observed in the dorsal and ventral regions, respectively, in the medial side of the fin instead of in the lateral side as seen in the previous stage.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to document the extent of the arteries supplying the external and internal oblique muscles and the connections among the vascular territories. Ten adult human cadavers underwent whole-body arterial perfusion (200 ml/kg) with a mixture of lead oxide, gelatin, and water, through the carotid artery. The external and internal oblique muscles were dissected and subjected to radiography. The vasculature of each muscle was analyzed by using the paper template technique. The areas of the vascular territories of the individual intercostal arteries within the external oblique muscle varied from 9 to 22 percent. The area of the vascular territory of the muscular branch of the deep circumflex iliac artery was 5 to 18 percent. The ascending branch of the deep circumflex iliac artery supplied a mean of 35.7 percent of the vascular territory of the internal oblique muscle. The lower six posterior intercostal arteries supplied a mean of 48.5 percent. The lateral branches of the deep inferior epigastric artery supplied a mean of 15.8 percent. This information provides the basis for the design of external and internal oblique muscle flaps for functional muscle transfer.  相似文献

Arterial supply to the stomach of dogs indigenous to Bangladesh was investigated by using latex. The hepatic, left gastric and splenic arteries sent their major branches to the stomach. The cranial and caudal branches of the left gastric artery supplied the lesser curvature of the stomach. The right gastric, and right and left gastroepiploic arteries also sent their branches to both the lesser and greater curvatures. Six or seven short gastric arteries from the splenic artery supplied the greater curvature. Anastomoses between the left and right gastric, between the left and right gastroepiploic, and between short gastric arteries and left gastric arteries were observed.  相似文献

The pattern of arterial supply to the various parts (clavicular, sternocostal and aponeurotic) of the pectoralis major muscle was studied in 7 cadaver dissections and 10 angiograms by injecting a radio-opaque substance. Three main arteries supplied the muscle, i.e. the pectoral branch of the thoracoacromial trunk (TAT-PB), the lateral thoracic artery and the perorating branch of the internal thoracic artery, supported by other branches of the TAT and the superior thoracic artery. It is observed that the TAT-PB, a chief vascular pedicle, anastomoses freely with other arteries and supplies most parts of the muscle. The present study is mainly focussed on the exclusion of the chief vascular pedicle of muscle to eliminate the confusion of previous studies and prevent the unnecessary hindrance and complications of the muscle flap.  相似文献

We studied the systemic arterial blood supply to the trachea and lung in adult sheep. After anesthesia, sheep were exsanguinated and then studied by intra-arterial injection of one of the following materials: saline containing dyes of various colors (n = 24), Microfil (n = 8), or Batson's solution (n = 6). The systemic blood supply to the cervical trachea originated from the two common carotid arteries via three to four small branches (rami tracheales cervicales) on each side. A segment of the thoracic trachea between the thoracic inlet and the origin of the tracheal bronchus (bronchus trachealis) and the bronchial tree of the right cranial lobe (lobus cranialis dexter) were supplied by the tracheal bronchial branch (ramus bronchalis trachealis), which originated from the brachiocephalic trunk (truncus brachiocephalicus). A portion of thoracic trachea between the origin of the tracheal bronchus and the tracheal carina was supplied by the thoracic tracheal branch (ramus trachealis thoracica), arising from the bronchoesophageal artery (arteria bronchoesophagea) or directly from the thoracic aorta. The bronchial branch (ramus bronchalis) originated from the bronchoesophageal artery, and its branches supplied the remainder of the bronchial tree. At 120 cmH2O pressure (n = 8), the bronchial branch contributed approximately 50% and the other two approximately 25% each of the total tracheobronchial blood flow. These three branches also supplied the visceral pleura. Additionally, several small vessels (rami pleurales pulmonales) originated from the esophageal branch (ramus esophagea) of the bronchoesophageal artery, traversed the pulmonary ligaments, and supplied the visceral pleura.  相似文献

The major arteries which supply the follicular capillaries in the human spleen do not arise as they do in most mammals as lateral or radial branches from the central artery but come from penicillar arteries which penetrate the marginal zone and enter the follicle at various points around its circumference. Such arteries may have a very short course through the red pulp or they may pursue very long courses. Upon entering the follicle, these arteries branch a number of times, the branches remaining together in a tight array of parallel arterioles along with capillaries formed from them, the whole bundle being enveloped by a reticular fiber sheath. There is thus formed an arteriolar-capillary bundle. The whole bundle may branch. From the sides, especially from its central end, arterioles and capillaries radiate out to all parts of the follicle to terminate in the marginal zone or in the follicle itself.

Lametschwandtner, A., Albrecht, U., Adam, H. 1980. The vascularization of the anuran brain. Olfactory bulb and telencephalon. A scanning electron microscopical study of vascular corrosion casts. (Department of Zoology, University of Salzburg, Austria.) — Acta zool. (Stockh.) 61(4): 225–238. The vascularization of the olfactory bulb and the telencephalon of the anuran brain is studied by means of scanning electron microscopy of vascular corrosion casts.—The olfactory bulb is supplied via a terminal branch of the ramus hemisphaerii medialis ventralis, while the drainage is via the lateral telencephalic vein. The vascular plexus which caps the olfactory bulb shows “basket-like” vascular formations facing the rostral olfactory bulb. This plexus is supplied via two sources which are a) terminal branches of the ramus hemisphaerii medialis ventralis and b) a branch of the inner carotid artery. — In the telencephalon the vascular pattern of medial and lateral cortex, the striatum, the septum, and the amygdala are described. It is demonstrated that in the cerebral cortex of the anuran brain the centrifugal blood flow is not present in that strictness found in the other parts of the brain. The arterial supply is via the ramus hemisphaerii medialis ventralis and the posterior telencephalic artery (ramus hemisphaerii medialis dorsalis) and their branches as well as by branches of the preoptic artery. The venous drainage of the telencephalon is by the lateral telencephalic vein.  相似文献
