Six Δ7-sterols were isolated from sunflower seed oil by preparative TLC. On the basis of physica and chemical data five of the Δ7-sterols were identified: Δ7-stigmastenol, Δ7-campestenol, Δ7,24(28)-stigma-stadienol, Δ7,24(25)-stigmastadienol, and Δ7,9(11),24(28)-stigmastatrienol. The last two sterols have not previously been detected in nature.  相似文献

Growth inhibiting substances in Helianthus annuus have been investigated. From the ethanolic extract a new germacranolide with an α-methylene-γ-lactone moiety, the heliangolide niveusin B and its ethoxy derivative were isolated and their structures elucidated by spectroscopic methods. The biological activity of each was determined by inhibition in Avena coleoptile tests and antimicrobial tests.  相似文献

Investigations on growth inhibition in Helianthus annuus led to the isolation of a new sesquiterpene lactone, a germacranolide with an α-methylene-γ-lactone moiety. The structure of this new germacranolide, annuithrin, was elucidated by spectroscopic methods. Its biological activity has been proven by growth inhibition in straight growth tests, antibacterial tests and inhibition of DNA-/RNA-synthesis in cells of the ascitic form of Ehrlich carcinoma.  相似文献

Kaurene synthetases catalyse the biosynthesis of ent-kaurene, a precursor of the gibberellins. In 4-day-old dark- or light-grown Helianthus annuus seedlings, the cotyledons contained over 90% of the synthetase activity. The low enzyme activity in the seedling hypocotyls and roots is not a consequence of inhibitory factors in these tissues. The cotyledons not only have the highest kaurene synthetase activity, but also have the highest inhibitory activity. The differences in kaurene synthetase activities in the different tissues cannot be explained on the basis of the levels of inhibitor(s) in the extracts. The mature perennial root of Marah macrocarpus has very low kaurene synthetase activity, in contrast to the liquid endosperm of immature seeds of the same plant which is a rich source of the enzyme.  相似文献

Under accelerated ageing at high relative humidity and high temperature for 4 days germination and membrane permeability remained unaffected both in sunflower and chick pea seeds. However, the steryl glycoside concentration in the pooled leachate increased progressively with ageing. Total sterols, as well as steryl glycosides and free sterols of the seeds, increased with a concomitant decline in steryl esters under accelerated ageing. Pretreatment with the sterol biosynthesis inhibitor SK & F 7997A3 prevented the increase of total sterols under accelerated ageing conditions but there were increases in the amounts of steryl glycosides and free sterols and a decrease in steryl ester after such treatment, therefore, indicating interconversions of the various sterol types. Accelerated ageing also caused increases in free amino acids and soluble carbohydrate. Low relative humidity-high temperature and high relative humidity-low temperature failed to produce such effects.  相似文献

The synthesis of oleanolic acid 3β-d-glucuronoside from oleanolic acid and UDPGlcA has been demonstrated in cell-free preparations from C. officinalis seedlings. Moreover, the formation of more complex glycosides by successive additions of galactose and glucose to oleanolic acid glucuronoside was observed when cell-free preparations were incubated with UDPGal or UDPGlc. The consecutive steps of oleanolic acid glycosylation are localized in three different cellular compartments. The biosynthesis of the 3-glucuronoside takes place in the microsomes, the elongation of the sugar chain at C-3 of the aglycone proceeds in heavy membrane structures which are probably fragments of the Golgi complex while a cytosol enzyme(s) is involved in glucosylation of the C-17 carboxyl group of oleanolic acid.  相似文献

Cestric acid, a new phenolic ester was isolated from leaves of Cestrum euanthes. By means of GC, HPLC, mass spectroscopy, GC/MS, and 13C NMR, it was shown to be an ester of caffeic acid with glucaric acid. The ester occurs as an equilibrium mixture of four isomers.  相似文献

The Dwarf Sunflower (Helianthus annuus) is a hyperaccumulator of toxic metals including cadmium (Cd), mercury (Hg), nickel (Ni), and lead (Pb). In order to identify stress response to Pb, plants were exposed to a mixture of 30 mg/l of three ions, Cd, Cr, and Ni, with and without Pb. Soluble proteins were resolved by two-dimensional gel electrophoresis. Four proteins were differentially expressed and very abundant in the leaf samples after plants were exposed to all these four metals. The first protein spot contained two proteins: chitinase and a chloroplast drought-induced stress protein CDSP-34. The second spot contained a thaumatin-like protein. Two proteins in spot 3 were identified as heat-shock cognate 70-1 and the large subunit of ribulose-1,5-bisphosphate carboxylase/oxygenase. Several peptides were identified in spot 4 but none could be matched to any sequence in the NCBI database.  相似文献

Samples of the aroma volatiles of globe artichoke and Jerusalem artichoke were obtained by well established methods and were analysed by routine GC and GC/MS. Eight sesquiterpene hydrocarbons afforded the major group of components (over 42%) in globe artichoke samples, with β-selinene (ca 32%) as the main constituent. Previously reported caryophyllene could not be detected. α-Cedrene was found to have globe artichoke aroma characteristics on odour evaluation of separated components at an odour port at the exit of the GC column. Jerusalem artichoke samples contained one major component (β-bisabolene, ca 51%) and a range of saturated long-chain hydrocarbons (ca 22%). The sesquiterpene presumably contributes appreciably to the characteristic flavour of Jerusalem artichoke. Both types of artichoke gave a low concentration of total volatiles.  相似文献

The chlorogenic acid content of Cestrum poeppigii, and its ability to form the acid from labelled t-cinnamic acid, was determined at different stages of growth. In contrast to mature plants, young plants showed great seasonal variation in their chlorogenic acid content. The incorporation of radioactivity from t-cinnamic into chlorogenic acid also differed greatly during the growth period. Trapping experiments with caffeic and p-coumaric acids were performed to study the effect of large pools of these acids on the incorporation of t-cinnamic acid-3-[14C] into chlorogenic acid. The kinetics of incorporation exclude a major role for caffeic acid in the biosynthesis of chlorogenic acid.  相似文献

The complete structural elucidation of the two caffeic acid sugar esters verbascoside and orobanchoside, has been realized by 1H and 13C NMR studies. It has been demonstrated that verbascoside is β-(3′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)ethyl-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→3)-β-D-(4-O-caffeoyl)-glucopyranoside, and orobanchoside is β-hydroxy-β-(3′,4′-dihydroxyphenyl)-ethyl-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1→2)-β-D-(4-O-caffeoyl)-glucopyranoside.  相似文献

The genetic relationship between two sugar esters of caffeic acid in the leaves of Plantago major has been investigated. The difference is shown to be due to a single gene. Glucose accounts for the sugar part in the dominant phenotype while in the recessive type the sugar is rhamnose. This difference is only partly correlated with the division of the species into subspecies. The rhamnose type is found only in P. major ssp. pleiosperma Pilger, although only in less than half of the plants investigated.  相似文献

An extract from Jerusalem artichoke shoots exhibited important adeninephosphoribosyltransferase activity. Only partial purification was possible because of the great instability of the enzyme. Phosphate ions and thiol reducing substances were necessary to stabilize it. The optimal temperature and pH were 40–45° and 5.5 to 6.5. The enzyme showed an absolute requirement for divalent cation: Mn2+ > Mg2+ = CO2+ = Zn2+ ? Ca2+. Kinetic studies gave Km values of 6.4 × 10?1 M for phosphoribosylpyrophosphate (PRPP) and 5.5 × 10?6 M for adenine. AMP exercised a strong product inhibition, competitive towards PRPP (Ki = 10?4 M). Inhibition by phosphate and pyrophosphate ions was also observed. The results suggested that the adeninephosphoribosyltransferase of Helianthus tuberosus has a key role in the purine salvage pathway.  相似文献
