The results of studying the types of species of the genus Chrysopilus (diptera, rhagionidae) from the collection of the Humboldt Natural History Museum (Berlin, Germany): Communication 1

The types of Chrysopilus auricollis (Meig.), Ch. binotatus Loew, Ch. erythrophthalmus Loew, Ch. maerens Loew, and Ch. palparis Loew and also specimens from the collection of the Humboldt Natural History Museum (Berlin, Germany), identified as Ch. helvolus (Meig.) and Ch. flaveolus (Meig.) (coll. O. Duda and Th. Becker), are described in detail for the first time. Detailed figures of the male genitalia are given for all the species examined. Diagnostic characters of some species are refined.

Nine species of the genus Chrysopilus are described in detail; among these, Ch. dives Loew, Ch. obscuribarbus Loew, Ch. pallipes Loew, Ch. praetiosus Loew, Ch. pullus Loew, Ch. siculus Loew, and Ch. unicolor Becker are presented by the types. One new species, Ch. subalpicola, is described. The structure of the male genitalia are illustrated for the first time, and the diagnostic characters given in the literature are refined.     

A new species,a new synonym,and new records of the hover-fly genus <Emphasis Type="Italic">Cheilosia</Emphasis> Meigen (Diptera,Syrphidae)

A new species, Cheilosia richterae sp. n., is described in the nominotypical subgenus, being most closely related there to Ch. annulifemur Stackelberg, 1930. Two species, Ch. sootryeni Nielsen, 1970 and Ch. rufimana (Becker, 1984), are recorded from Russia for the first time. Ch. kuznetzovae Skufjin, 1977 is recorded for the first time from the Urals and western Siberia. The subgenus Nephocheila Barkalov, 2002 is synonymized with Nephomyia Matsumura, 1916. Figures of the male and female heads and the male genitalia are given for all the species.     

Revision of the genus Stichillus Enderlein of Japan (Diptera: Phoridae)

The genus Stichillus in Japan is revised. Three species are recognized: S. japonicus (Matsumura), S. spinosus Liu and Chou and S. cylindratus sp. nov. Stichillus brunneicornis Beyer is excluded from the Japanese fauna. These Japanese species are described and keyed. The male genitalia and the female terminalia are illustrated. Some unique characters of the male genitalia in the genus are reported, and morphology of the male genitalia and the female terminalia is discussed.     

Fungivory of Anatatha lignea, an interesting habit in Noctuidae (Lepidoptera)

The larvae of Anatatha lignea (Butler) were found consuming the brown surface of synthetic logs on which the shiitake mushroom, Lentinula edodes (Berk.) Pegler, formed a thick mycelial coat. Fungivory has been rarely reported in the Noctuidae, and this is the first record of fungivory from the genus Anatatha. The female genitalia and the immature stages of A. lignea are illustrated and described for the first time. Its lectotype is designated and illustrated, and details of the species’ biology is given. The female genitalia of A. misae Sugi, a species closely related to A. lignea, are illustrated and described for the first time.     

Revision of the Neotropical Genus Hemibidessus Zimmermann (Coleoptera: Dytiscidae: Hydroporinae: Bidessini)

The genus Hemibidessus Zimmermann, 1921 is revised. Six species are recognized in the genus. Two new species are described, H. spirodiscus sp. n. from Bolivia and H. spangleri sp. n. from Argentina. A key for identifying the species is presented. The female genitalia are thoroughly illustrated and described for the first time for any species of Bidessini. Other important diagnostic structures are also illustrated including the male genitalia. A cladistic analysis is presented for 8 species (6 ingroup and 2 outgroup species) and 13 characters. A single most parsimonious cladogram was found.

对亚草叶蝉属进行系统研究并首次报道其在中国分布,共记述5种：E. acarifer (Lethierry),E. hilaris (Melichar),E. magnus Mitjaev,E. medius (Mulsant & Rey) 和E. pratensis Emeljanov,其中E. hilaris (Melichar) 和E. medius (Mulsant & Rey) 为中国新记录种。文中提供了分种检索表和雄性外生殖器特征图,并首次记述和提供雌性生殖器特征。     

A new Melipotis Hübner from Chile (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae)

Melipotis paracellaris n. sp. (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) from Chile is described. This species is akin to M. cellaris (Gueneé), but it may be recognized by the upperside of forewings and genitalia.     

Results of studying the types of species of the genus Chrysopilus (Diptera, Rhagionidae) from the collection of the Natural History Museum of the Humboldt University (Berlin, Germany): Communication 3

Communication 3 presents the results of studying the types of Chrysopilus auratus (Fabr.), Ch. aureus (Meigen), Ch. aureus meridionalis Bezzi, Ch. splendidus (Meigen), and Ch. luteolus (Fallén). Two new species, Ch. subauratus sp. n. and Ch. subsplendidus sp. n., are described. The results of examination of 19 species of the genus are given.     

Eucoptocnemis tischendorfi (Püngeler) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae: Noctuinae): New record for Iran with description of female of Brachygalea miskoi Ronkay (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae: Oncocnemidinae)

A noctuid species, Eucoptocnemis tischendorfi (Püngeler, 1915) (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae), is first reported for the fauna of Iran and the female of Brachygalea miskoi Ronkay, 1997 is first described. Adults including genitalia of both species are illustrated.     

The South American Spiders of the Genus Selenops (Araneae,Selenopidae) with a Description of Three New Species

Twenty five South American species of the genus Selenops (Araneae, Selenopidae) are revised, of which three new taxa are described and illustrated: S. angelae and S. marilus (?, from Ecuador and Venezuela, respectively) and S. tiky (?, from Venezuela). Selenops ecuadorensis Berland, S. galapagoensis Banks, S. isopodus Mello-Leitão and S. melanurus Mello-Leitão are redescribed. Diagnostic characters of previously known species are given and the male palp and female genitalia are described and illustrated, some for the first time. New data on geographic distribution extend the ranges of some previously known species. A key to South American species is provided for the first time. En este trabajo se revisa el género Selenops (Araneae, Selenopidae) para América del Sur. Este género está representado por 25 especies, de las cuales aqu¡ se describen e ilustran tres especies nuevas, S. angelae y S. marilus (conocidas sólo por el macho de Ecuador y Venezuela, respectivamente) y S. tiky (sólo por la hembra de Venezuela). Se redescriben Selenops ecuadorensis Berland, S. galapagoensi s Banks, S. isopodus Mello-Leitão y S. melanurus Mello-Leitão y se ilustran, en algunos casos por primera vez, la genitalia de la hembra y el palpo del macho de todas las especies sudamericanas de Selenops. Se da la diagnosis de cada especie, se presentan mapas ampliando el área de distribución de la mayoría de las especies conocidas y se proporciona la primera clave para las especies sudamericanas.     

A review of the leaf-beetle genus Chrysolina Motschulsky (Coleoptera, Chrysomelidae) from Russia and European countries of the former USSR. III. Remarks on the systematics and distribution of the species

Chrysolina didymata (Scriba, 1791) is repeatedly recorded from Ukraine (Kamianets-Podilskyi), Ch. cuprina (Duftschmid, 1825) is recorded from the South Urals (Bashkiria) for the second time, Ch. oirota Lopatin, 1990 is recorded from Russia (W. Altai), Ch. staphylaea sharpi (Fowler, 1890) is recorded from Russia (the Kandalaksha Bay coast) for the first time. The presence of Ch. roddi in Lipetsk Province (the Galichia Gora Nature Reserve) is confirmed after the finding of three males. The host plant of this species is found to be Seseli intermedia. Chrysolina daghestanica (Reitter, 1912) is synonymized with Ch. cuprina (Duftschmid, 1825); Ch. dudkoi ivanovskiana Mikhailov, 2000 is synonymized with Ch. dudkoi dudkoi Mikhailov, 2000; Ch. tolli kodarensis is synonymized with Ch. cavigera pirka Takizawa, 1970. The infrasubspecific rank of the variety Ch. hyrcana var. cyanescens Jacobson, 1894 is confirmed. The neotype of Ch. sahlbergii (Ménétriés, 1832) is designated. The systematic position of Ch. arctoalpina Mikhailov, 2006, Ch. kholsunica Mikhailov, 2001, Ch. kuznetzowi (Jacobson, 1897), Ch. soiota khakassa Mikhailov, 2002, Ch. cuprina dilecta Bechyné, 1952, Ch. poretzkyi (Jacobson, 1897), Ch. seriepunctata (Weise, 1887), and Ch. ambulans (Faldermann, 1835) is discussed. The authorship and date of the original publication of one name are improved, namely: Chrysomela discipennis Ménétriés, 1848.     

Three new species ofTrichogramma [Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae] from India

Three new species ofTrichogramma occurring in India are described. Two of these were reared from eggs of the sugarcane stem-borerChilotraea infuscatellus, while the third was found attacking eggs ofAchaea janata, Tiracola plagiata andHeliothis armigera. The diagnostic value of the male genitalia in this genus is emphasized and a discussion is presented justifying the consideration of these as new species.

Résumé Trois nouvelles espèces deTrichogramma présentes en Inde sont décrites. Deux d'entre elles ont été obtenues d'œufs du foreur des tiges de la canne à sucre,Chilotraea infuscatellus, la troisième s'attaque aux œufs deAchaea janata, Tiracola plagiata etHeliothis armigera. La valeur pour la diagnose des genitalia males dans ce genre est soulignée et les arguments en faveur d'espèces nouvelles sont discutés.

     

Notes on Perlesta (Plecoptera: Perlidae) from Eastern North America

The identity of Perlesta nitida is reviewed and demonstrated to be a valid species. The male is redescribed with an emphasis on internal genitalia, and the egg stage is described for the first time. Morphological features distinguishing P. nitida from similar species are provided. New distributional records of additional Perlesta species are reported.
