Two bacterial strains were isolated with 3-chloroacrylic acid (CAA) as sole source of carbon and energy. Strain CAA1, a Pseudomonas cepacia sp., was capable of growth with only the cis-isomer of CAA. Strain CAA2, a coryneform bacterium, utilized both isomers of CAA as sole source of carbon and energy. Strain CAA1 contained cis-CAA hydratase and strain CAA2 contained two hydratases, one with cis-CAA hydratase activity and one with trans-CAA hydratase activity. The product of the hydratase activities with CAA was malonate semialdehyde. In both strains malonate semialdehyde was subsequently decarboxylated by a cofactor-independent decarboxylase yielding acetaldehyde and CO2.  相似文献

[6, 7-3H]-17beta-Estradiol-3-glucosiduronate, [6, 7-3H]-estrone-3-glucosiduronate or [6, 7-3H]-estrone was administered intravenously into the rabbit, and analysis and identification of the urinary metabolites were carried out. In either case, the major urinary metabolite was found to be a diconjugate. The sequential enzymic hydrolysis indicated that this diconjugate was glucosiduronate-N-acetyglucosaminide of 17alpha-estradiol. From these results, the conversion of the estrogen glucosiduronate into a diconjugate was thought a rather universal phenomenon in the rabbit.  相似文献

Evidence has been presented for the formation of an intermediate compound in the metabolism of 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid to quinolinic acid by 3-hydroxyanthranilase from rat liver preparations. The production of the intermediate was demonstrated by spectrophotometric analyses and quinolinic acid measurements of incubation mixtures in which small amounts of acetone powder extracts of rat liver were used as the enzyme source. The calculated extinction coefficient of the compound was more than double that of the substrate or of the final product, quinolinic acid.The intermediate was shown to be an oxidation product of 3-hydroxyanthranilate as indicated by Thunberg experiments. The data obtained indicate that the intermediate may be a quinone-type compound.  相似文献
