This paper investigates the removal of isopropanol by gas-phase biotrickling filtration. Two plastic packing materials, one structured and one random, have been evaluated in terms of oxygen mass transfer and isopropanol removal efficiency. Oxygen mass transfer experiments were performed at gas velocities of 104 and 312 m h?1 and liquid velocities between 3 and 33 m h?1. Both materials showed similar mass transfer coefficients up to liquid velocities of 15 m h?1. At greater liquid velocities, the structured packing exhibited greater oxygen mass transfer coefficients. Biotrickling filtration experiments were carried out at inlet loads (IL) from 20 to 65 g C m?3 h?1 and empty bed residence times (EBRT) from 14 to 160 s. To simulate typical industrial emissions, intermittent isopropanol loading (16 h/day, 5 day/week) and intermittent spraying frequency (15 min/1.5 h) were applied. Maximum elimination capacity of 51 g C m?3 h?1 has been obtained for the random packing (IL of 65 g C m?3 h?1, EBRT of 50 s). The decrease in irrigation frequency to 15 min every 3 h caused a decrease in the outlet emissions from 86 to 59 mg C Nm?3 (inlet of 500 mg C Nm?3). The expansion of spraying to night and weekend periods promoted the degradation of the isopropanol accumulated in the water tank during the day, reaching effluent concentrations as low as 44 mg C Nm?3. After a 7-week starvation period, the performance was recovered in less than 10 days, proving the robustness of the process.  相似文献

During two intensive field campaigns in summer and autumn 2004 nitrogen (N2O, NO/NO2) and carbon (CO2, CH4) trace gas exchange between soil and the atmosphere was measured in a sessile oak (Quercus petraea (Matt.) Liebl.) forest in Hungary. The climate can be described as continental temperate. Fluxes were measured with a fully automatic measuring system allowing for high temporal resolution. Mean N2O emission rates were 1.5 μg N m−2 h−1 in summer and 3.4 μg N m−2 h−1 in autumn, respectively. Also mean NO emission rates were higher in autumn (8.4 μg N m−2 h−1) as compared to summer (6.0 μg N m−2 h−1). However, as NO2 deposition rates continuously exceeded NO emission rates (−9.7 μg N m−2 h−1 in summer and −18.3 μg N m−2 h−1 in autumn), the forest soil always acted as a net NO x sink. The mean value of CO2 fluxes showed only little seasonal differences between summer (81.1 mg C m−2 h−1) and autumn (74.2 mg C m−2 h−1) measurements, likewise CH4uptake (summer: −52.6 μg C m−2 h−1; autumn: −56.5 μg C m−2 h−1). In addition, the microbial soil processes net/gross N mineralization, net/gross nitrification and heterotrophic soil respiration as well as inorganic soil nitrogen concentrations and N2O/CH4 soil air concentrations in different soil depths were determined. The respiratory quotient (ΔCO2 resp ΔO2 resp−1) for the uppermost mineral soil, which is needed for the calculation of gross nitrification via the Barometric Process Separation (BaPS) technique, was 0.8978 ± 0.008. The mean value of gross nitrification rates showed only little seasonal differences between summer (0.99 μg N kg−1 SDW d−1) and autumn measurements (0.89 μg N kg−1 SDW d−1). Gross rates of N mineralization were highest in the organic layer (20.1–137.9 μg N kg−1 SDW d−1) and significantly lower in the uppermost mineral layer (1.3–2.9 μg N kg−1 SDW d−1). Only for the organic layer seasonality in gross N mineralization rates could be demonstrated, with highest mean values in autumn, most likely caused by fresh litter decomposition. Gross mineralization rates of the organic layer were positively correlated with N2O emissions and negatively correlated with CH4 uptake, whereas soil CO2 emissions were positively correlated with heterotrophic respiration in the uppermost mineral soil layer. The most important abiotic factor influencing C and N trace gas fluxes was soil moisture, while the influence of soil temperature on trace gas exchange rates was high only in autumn.  相似文献

In these studies, butanol (acetone butanol ethanol or ABE) was produced from concentrated lactose/whey permeate containing 211 g L?1 lactose. Fermentation of such a highly concentrated lactose solution was possible due to simultaneous product removal using a pervaporation membrane. In this system, a productivity of 0.43 g L?1 h?1 was obtained which is 307 % of that achieved in a non-product removal batch reactor (0.14 g L?1 h?1) where approximately 60 g L?1 whey permeate lactose was fermented. The productivity obtained in this system is much higher than that achieved in other product removal systems (perstraction 0.21 g L?1 h?1 and gas stripping 0.32 g L?1 h?1). This membrane was also used to concentrate butanol from approximately 2.50 g L?1 in the reactor to 755 g L?1. Using this membrane, ABE selectivities and fluxes of 24.4–44.3 and 0.57–4.05 g m?2 h?1 were obtained, respectively. Pervaporation restricts removal of water from the reaction mixture thus requiring significantly less energy for product recovery when compared to gas stripping.  相似文献

The mass transfer and hydrodynamics of two outdoor tubular photobioreactor designs were compared, a Tredici-design near-horizontal tubular photobioreactor (NHTR) and an enhanced version of this reactor (ENHTR), for the purpose of improving algal growth via improved hydrodynamics. The enhancements included addition of vertical bubble columns at the sparger end and a larger degasser with a diffuser. Gas-liquid mass transfer and other performance measures were assessed for a range of gas sparging rates. The ENHTR modifications proved to be very successful, increasing oxygen stripping and carbon dioxide dissolution by 120–220 % and 0–50 %, respectively. There was an increase in axial mixing and a fourfold decrease in total mixing time. Experiments were conducted to determine that approximately 50 % of the mass transfer occurred in the vertical bubble columns, while 85–90 % of the mass transfer in the near-horizontal tubes occurred in the lower half of the tubes. These improvements can lead to increased algae productivity depending upon culture-specific parameters. The theoretical maximum productivity of a hypothetical algal culture would be 1.6 g m?2 h?1 in the NHTR, and we have previously achieved a maximum of 1.5 g m?2 h?1 growing Arthrospira at densities up to 7.5 g L?1 in this reactor. Due to enhanced mass transfer in the ENHTR, the predicted maximum productivity should increase to 4.75 g m?2 h?1. The potential for further improvements in productivity due to various additional enhancements is described.  相似文献

Photosynthetic bacteria are known to utilize volatile fatty acids as a carbon source for growth and product formation. In this study, a new isolate, Rubrivivax benzoatilyticus PS-5, possessing self-flocculation properties, was cultivated in modified glutamate-malate (GM) medium containing glutamate and malate as carbon sources. The effect of acetic acid, propionic acid and butyric acid (at 1–4 g L?1) as co-substrates and 7.5 mM glycine, 10 mM succinic acid as precursors for 5-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) production from R. benzoatilyticus PS-5 was investigated. Among the volatile fatty acids tested, acetic acid was preferred to butyric acid and propionic acid, with the optimum concentrations of 3 g L?1, 1 g L?1 and 3 g L?1, respectively. The highest ALA production was 169.71 μM, 162.16 μM and 46.18 μM, respectively, while the highest productivity was 2.57 μM h?1, 2.25 μM h?1 and 0.96 μM h?1, respectively. The precursor was consumed completely (100 %) while the assimilation of the acetic acid and butyric acid was 62.50 % and 48.65 %, respectively. Supplementation of propionic acid (at 1–4 g l?1) had a negative effect on growth and ALA production. To increase production efficiency, the pH-control strategy (at pH 6.0–8.0) during fermentation was tested. The optimum pH was 7.0, giving the maximum ALA production of 286.18 μM and a productivity of 3.97 μM h?1. These values were 1.68-fold and 1.54-fold higher, respectively, than those under uncontrolled pH conditions.  相似文献

The critical shear stress of resuspension and rates of erosion for cohesive and loosely structured sediments must be obtained by direct measurements since there is no theoretical calculation. An in situ experiment on sediment resuspension was performed in a shallow lake (Langer See, NE Germany; area = 1.27 km2, zmax = 3.8 m) in summer 2006 using a hydrodynamically calibrated erosion chamber (Ø 20 cm). Shear velocity (u*) was incrementally increased in 11 steps (0–2.19 cm s?1) to initiate resuspension events. Entrainment rates (E) of suspended particulate matter (ESPM), total P (ETP), chlorophyll a (EChl a), and soluble reactive P (ESRP) were determined by mass balance. Two subsequent critical u* (0.53 cm s?1 and 1.48 cm s?1) support the ‘two-layered bed’ model of a fluffy surface aggregate layer (freshly deposited phytodetritus prone to resuspension) and an underlying more consolidated biostabilised layer. Patterns in ESPM (2–106 g m?2 h?1), ETP (11–532 mg m?2 h?1), and EChl a (3–24 μg m?2 h?1) revealed a sediment surface maximum of TP and Chl a and their theoretical vertical logarithmic decrease within 4 mm sediment depth, the maximum thickness of sediment layer entrained. The advective ESRP flux (17 mg m?2 h?1) was 43 times higher than the diffusive SRP flux (0.4 mg m?2 h?1). The TP and Chl a micro-profiles suggest that cohesive sediment bed formation is a function of both settling (fluff) and consolidation (biostabilisation). Thus, sediment microstructure and resuspension behavior depend on each other.  相似文献

Rhodotorula glutinis CCT 2182, Rhodosporidium toruloides CCT 0783, Rhodotorula minuta CCT 1751 and Lipomyces starkeyi DSM 70296 were evaluated for the conversion of sugars from Brazilian molasses into single-cell oil (SCO) feedstock for biodiesel. Pulsed fed-batch fermentations were performed in 1.65 l working volume bioreactors. The maximum specific growth rate (µmax), lipid productivity (Pr) and cellular lipid content were, respectively, 0.23 h?1, 0.41 g l?1 h?1, and 41 % for Rsp. toruloides; 0.20 h?1, 0.27 g l?1 h?1, and 36 % for Rta. glutinis; 0.115 h?1, 0.135 g l?1 h?1, and 27 % for Rta. minuta; and 0.11 h?1, 0.13 g l?1 h?1, and 32 % for L. starkeyi. Based on their microbial lipid productivity, content, and profile, Rsp. toruloides and Rta. glutinis are promising candidates for biodiesel production from Brazilian molasses. All the oils from the yeasts were similar to the composition of plant oils (rapeseed and soybean) and could be used as raw material for biofuels, as well as in food and nutraceutical products.  相似文献

Gross primary productivity (GPP) of phytoplankton and planktonic respiration (PR) (i.e., planktonic metabolism) are critical pathways for carbon transformation in many aquatic ecosystems. In inland floodplain wetlands with variable inundation regimes, quantitative measurements of GPP and PR are rare and their relationships with wetland environmental conditions are largely unknown. We measured PR and the GPP of phytoplankton using light and dark biological oxygen demand bottles in open waters of channel and non-channel floodplain habitats of inland floodplain wetlands of southeast Australia that had been inundated by environmental water. Overall, GPP varied from 3.7 to 405.5 mg C m?3 h?1 (mean ± standard error: 89.4 ± 9.2 mg C m?3 h?1, n = 81), PR from 1.5 to 251.6 mg C m?3 h?1 (43.2 ± 5.6 mg C m?3 h?1, n = 81), and GPP/PR from 0.2 to 15.6 (3.0 ± 0.3, n = 81). In terms of wetland environmental conditions, total nitrogen (TN) ranged from 682.0 to 14,700.0 mg m?3 (mean ± standard error: 2,643.0 ± 241.6 mg m?3, n = 81), total phosphorus (TP) from 48.0 to 1,405.0 mg m?3 (316.8 ± 31.4 mg m?3, n = 81), and dissolved organic carbon (DOC) from 1.9 to 46.3 g m?3 (22.0 ± 1.6 g m?3, n = 81). Using ordinary least-squares multiple regression analyses, the rates of GPP and PR, and their ratio (GPP/PR) were modeled as a function of TN, TP, and DOC that had been measured concomitantly. The “best” models predicted GPP and GPP/PR ratio in channel habitats as a function of DOC; and GPP, PR, and GPP/PR in non-channel floodplain habitats as a function of TN and/or TP. The models explained between 46 and 74 % of the variance in channel habitats and between 17 and 87 % of the variance in non-channel floodplain habitats. Net autotrophy (mean GPP/PR 3.0) of planktonic metabolism in our work supports the prevailing view that wetlands are a net sink for carbon dioxide. We propose a nutrient-DOC framework, combined with hydrological and geomorphological delineations, to better predict and understand the planktonic metabolism in inland floodplain wetlands.  相似文献

Continuous anaerobic fermentations were performed in a biofilm reactor packed with Poraver® beads. Dilution rates (D) varied between 0.054 and 0.72 h?1, and d-glucose and CO2 gas were used as carbon substrates. Steady-state conditions were shown to be repeatable and independent of the operational history. Production stability was achieved over periods exceeding 80 h at values of D below 0.32 h?1. In these situations, steady-state variation (expressed as fluctuations in NaOH neutralisation flow rates) exhibited a standard deviation of less than 5 % while no indication of biofilm deactivation was detected. The total biomass amount was found to be independent of the dilution rate with an average dry concentration of 23.8?±?2.9 g L?1 obtained for all runs. This suggests that the attachment area controls the extent of biofilm accumulation. Specific succinic acid (SA) productivities, based on the total biomass amount, exhibited a substantial decrease with decreasing D. An SA volumetric productivity of 10.8 g L?1 h?1 was obtained at D?=?0.7 h?1—the highest value reported to date in Actinobacillus succinogenes fermentations. SA yields on glucose increased with decreasing D, with a yield of 0.90?±?0.01 g g?1 obtained at a D of 0.054 h?1. Production of formic acid approached zero with decreasing D, while the succinic to acetic acid ratio increased with decreasing D, resulting in an increasing SA yield on glucose.  相似文献

Background

Corn stover, as one important lignocellulosic material, has characteristics of low price, abundant output and easy availability. Using corn stover as carbon source in the fermentation of valuable organic chemicals contributes to reducing the negative environmental problems and the cost of production. In ethanol fermentation based on the hydrolysate of corn stover, the conversion rate of fermentable sugars is at a low level because the native S. cerevisiae does not utilize xylose. In order to increase the conversion rate of fermentable sugars deriving from corn stover, an effective and energy saving biochemical process was developed in this study and the residual xylose after ethanol fermentation was further converted to l-lactic acid.

Results

In the hybrid process based on the hydrolysate of corn stover, the ethanol concentration and productivity reached 50.50 g L?1 and 1.84 g L?1 h?1, respectively, and the yield of ethanol was 0.46 g g?1. The following fermentation of l-lactic acid provided a product titer of 21.50 g L?1 with a productivity of 2.08 g L?1 h?1, and the yield of l-lactic acid was 0.76 g g?1. By adopting a blank aeration before the inoculation of B. coagulans LA1507 and reducing the final cell density, the l-lactic acid titer and yield reached 24.25 g L?1 and 0.86 g g?1, respectively, with a productivity of 1.96 g L?1 h?1.

Conclusions

In this work, the air pumped into the fermentor was used as both the carrier gas for single-pass gas stripping of ethanol and the oxygen provider for the aerobic growth of B. coagulans LA1507. Ethanol was effectively separated from the fermentation broth, while the residual medium containing xylose was reused for l-lactic acid production. As an energy-saving and environmental-friendly process, it introduced a potential way to produce bioproducts under the concept of biorefinery, while making full use of the hydrolysate of corn stover.

Alpine lakes receive a large fraction of their nutrients from atmospheric sources and are consequently sensitive to variations in both the amount and chemistry of atmospheric deposition. In this study we explored the spatial changes in lake water chemistry and biology along a gradient of dust deposition in the Wind River Range, Wyoming. Regional differences were explored using the variation in bulk deposition, lake water, sediment, and bedrock geochemistry and catchment characteristics. Dust deposition rates in the Southwestern region averaged 3.34 g m?2 year?1, approximately three times higher than deposition rates in the Northwestern region (average 1.06 g m?2 year?1). Dust-P deposition rates ranged from 87 µg P m2 day?1 in the Northwestern region to 276 µg P m2 day?1 in the Southwestern region. Subalpine and alpine lakes in the Southwestern region had greater total phosphorus (TP) concentrations (5–13 µg L?1) and greater sediment phosphorus (SP) concentrations (2–5 mg g?1) than similar lakes elsewhere in the region (1–8 µg L?1 TP, 0.5–2 mg g?1 SP). Lake phosphorus concentrations were related to dissolved organic carbon (DOC) across vegetation gradients, but related to the percent of bare rock, catchment area to lake area, and catchment steepness across dust deposition gradients. Modern phytoplankton and zooplankton biomasses were two orders of magnitude greater in the Southwest than in the Northwest, and alpine lakes in the Southwest had a unique diatom species assemblage with relatively higher concentrations of Asterionella formosa, Pseudostaurosira pseudoconstruens, and Pseudostaurosira brevistriata. These results suggests that catchment controls on P export to lakes (i.e. DOC) are overridden in dominantly bare rock basins where poor soils cannot effectively retain dust deposited P.  相似文献

The performance and microbial community structure of a pilot-scale upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB) reactor inoculated with flocculent sludge were investigated over 52 days. The characteristics of corn-ethanol wastewater were as follows: CODCr, 1,050–4,970 mg l?1; ammonia, 14–298 mg l?1; and alkalinity, 332–2,867 mg l?1. The UASB could start up smoothly with a hydraulic loading rate lower than 180 l h?1 and a ratio of volatile fatty acid versus alkalinity between 0.04 and 0.48. The maximum gas production rate was 432 l h?1 and the highest volumetric loading rate of 7.2 kg m?3 day?1 was obtained after 48 days. The 1 mm granules could form a complex network and were composed of many Methanosaeta. Aceticlastic methanogens served as a dominant methanogenic group, which accounted for the relatively high resistance to shock loading.  相似文献

The effect of various initial caffeine concentrations on growth and caffeine demethylase production by Pseudomonas sp. was studied in bioreactor. At initial concentration of 6.5 g l?1 caffeine, Pseudomonas sp. showed a maximum specific growth rate of 0.2 h?1, maximum degradation rate of 1.1 g h?1, and caffeine demethylase activity of 18,762 U g CDW?1 (CDW: cell dry weight). Caffeine degradation rate was 25 times higher in bioreactor than in shake flask. For the first time, we show highest degradation of 75 g caffeine (initial concentration 20 g l?1) in 120 h, suggesting that the tested strain has potential for successful bioprocess for caffeine degradation. Growth kinetics showed substrate inhibition phenomenon. Various substrate inhibition models were fitted to the kinetic data, amongst which the double-exponential (R 2 = 0.94), Luong (R 2 = 0.92), and Yano and Koga 2 (R 2 = 0.94) models were found to be the best. The Luedeking–Piret model showed that caffeine demethylase production kinetics was growth related. This is the first report on production of high levels of caffeine demethylase in batch bioreactor with faster degradation rate and high tolerance to caffeine, hence clearly suggesting that Pseudomonas sp. used in this study is a potential biocatalyst for industrial decaffeination.  相似文献

Indigenous broadleaf plantations are increasingly developing as a prospective silvicultural management approach for substituting in place of large pure conifer plantations in subtropical China. However, little information is known about the effects of tree species conversion on soil-atmosphere greenhouse gas (GHG) exchanges. Four adjacent monospecific plantations were selected in subtropical China to examine the effects of tree species on soil-atmosphere exchanges of N2O, CH4 and CO2. One coniferous plantation was composed of Pinus massoniana (PM), and the three broadleaf plantations were Castanopsis hystrix (CH), Michelia macclurei (MM) and Mytilaria laosensis (ML). We found that mean soil N2O and CO2 emissions in the PM plantation were 4.34 μg N m?2?h?1 and 43.25 mg C m?2?h?1, respectively, lower than those in the broadleaf plantations (>5.25 μg N m?2?h?1 and >56.38 mg C m?2?h?1). The PM plantation soil had higher mean CH4 uptake (39.03 μg C m?2?h?1) than the broadleaf plantation soils (<32.67 μg C m?2?h?1). Variations in soil N2O emissions among tree species could be primarily explained by the differences in litter C:N ratio and soil total N stock. Differences in soil CH4 uptake among tree species could be mostly attributed to the differences in mean soil CO2 flux and water filled pore space (WFPS). Litter C:N ratio could largely account for variations in soil CO2 emissions among tree species. This study confirms that there is no GHG benefit of converting PM plantation to broadleaf plantations in subtropical China. Therefore, the future strategy of tree species selection for substituting in place of large coniferous plantations in subtropical China needs to consider the potential effects of tree species on soil-atmosphere GHG exchanges.  相似文献

A newly-isolated strain of Serratia marcescens, G12, was characterized for 2,3-butanediol (2,3-BD) production. In shake-flask and batch fermentations, 2,3-BD reached 48.5 and 51 g l?1, respectively. Low amounts of (~8 g l?1) of acetoin were also formed. In fed-batch fermentations, strain G12 produced 72.8 g 2,3-BD l?1 with glucose initially at 130 g l?1. When aeration rate was increased to 2.5 vvm for the fermentation process, 2,3-BD reached 87.8 g l?1 and the highest productivity was 1.6 g l?1 h?1. Acetoin was at 6.2 g l?1. G12 therefore may be a suitable candidate strain for large-scale production of 2,3-BD.  相似文献

The present work evaluated biomass productivity, carbon dioxide fixation rate, and biochemical composition of two microalgal species, Phaeodactylum tricornutum (Bacillariophyta) and Tetradesmus obliquus (Chlorophyta), cultivated indoors in high-technology photobioreactors (HT-PBR) and outdoors both in pilot ponds and low-technology photobioreactors in a greenhouse in southern Italy. Microalgae were grown in standard media, under nitrogen starvation, and in two liquid digestates obtained from anaerobic digestion of agro-zootechnical and vegetable biomass. P. tricornutum, cultivated in semi-continuous mode in indoor HT-PBRs with standard medium, showed a biomass productivity of 21.0?±?2.3 g m?2 d?1. Applying nitrogen starvation, the lipid productivity increased from 2.3 up to 4.5?±?0.5 g m?2 d?1, with a 24 % decrease of biomass productivity. For T. obliquus, a biomass productivity of 9.1?±?0.9 g m?2 d?1 in indoor HT-PBR was obtained using standard medium. Applying liquid digestates as fertilizers in open ponds, T. obliquus gave a biomass productivity (10.8?±?2.0 g m?2 d?1) not statistically different from complete medium such as P. tricornutum (6.5?±?2.2 g m?2 d?1). The biochemical data showed that the fatty acid composition of the microalgal biomass was affected by the different cultivation conditions for both microalgae. In conclusion, it was found that the microalgal productivity in standard medium was about doubled in HT-PBR compared to open ponds for P. tricornutum and was about 20 % higher for T. obliquus.  相似文献

Biodegradation of pyridine by a novel bacterial strain, Rhizobium sp. NJUST18, was studied in batch experiments over a wide concentration range (from 100 to 1,000 mg l?1). Pyridine inhibited both growth of Rhizobium sp. NJUST18 and biodegradation of pyridine. The Haldane model could be fitted to the growth kinetics data well with the kinetic constants μ* = 0.1473 h?1, K s = 793.97 mg l?1, K i = 268.60 mg l?1 and S m = 461.80 mg l?1. The true μ max, calculated from μ*, was found to be 0.0332 h?1. Yield coefficient Y X/S depended on S i and reached a maximum of 0.51 g g?1 at S i of 600 mg l?1. V max was calculated by fitting the pyridine consumption data with the Gompertz model. V max increased with initial pyridine concentration up to 14.809 mg l?1 h?1. The q S values, calculated from $V_{ \hbox{max} }$ , were fitted with the Haldane equation, yielding q Smax = 0.1212 g g?1 h?1 and q* = 0.3874 g g?1 h?1 at S m′ = 507.83 mg l?1, K s′ = 558.03 mg l?1, and K i′ = 462.15 mg l?1. Inhibition constants for growth and degradation rate value were in the same range. Compared with other pyridine degraders, μ max and S m obtained for Rhizobium sp. NJUST18 were relatively high. High K i and K i′ values and extremely high K s and K s′ values indicated that NJUST18 was able to grow on pyridine within a wide concentration range, especially at relatively high concentrations.  相似文献

To investigate the changes in arterial oxygenation and intrapulmonary shunt during one-lung ventilation (OLV) with intravenous infusion of dexmedetomidine combined with isoflurane inhalation. ASA I–II 60 patients aged 18–70 year, undergoing OLV during elective thoracic surgery were randomly allocated to two groups: (1) isoflurane + saline (group NISO, n = 30) and (2) isoflurane + dexmedetomidine (group DISO, n = 30). After induction, anesthesia was maintained with intravenous infusion of remifentanil 0.1–0.2 μg kg?1 min?1 and inhalation isoflurane (1.0–2.0 %). In addition, anesthesia was maintained with intravenous infusion of dexmedetomidine 0.7 μg kg?1 h?1 in DISO group and saline 0.25 ml kg?1 h?1 in NISO group. Bispectral Index values were maintained within 40–60 by changing the concentration of isoflurane in all groups. Arterial blood gas samples and central venous blood gas samples were taken as follows: during two-lung ventilation before OLV and during the first 40 min of OLV. 45 Patients completed the study, with 23 patients in DISO group and 22 patients in NISO group. The two groups were comparable in terms of demographic variables, hemodynamic, PaO2, Qs/QT, end expiration isoflurane and BIS levels during the operation. Compared with patients in the group NISO, there were significant increases with PaO2, significant decrease with Qs/QT, significant decrease with end expiration isoflurane, and significant decrease with HR in the group DISO during the first 40 min of OLV (P < 0.05). Dexmedetomidine infusions decrease the requirement for isoflurane, decrease intrapulmonary shunt, and moderate the change in PaO2 and may be useful in managing OLV.  相似文献

A new xylose fermenting yeast was isolated from over-ripe banana by enrichment in xylose-containing medium. The phylogenetic analysis of ITS1-5.8S-ITS2 region sequences of ribosomal RNA of isolate BY2 revealed that it shows affiliation to genus Pichia and clades with Pichia caribbica. In batch fermentation, Pichia strain BY2 fermented xylose, producing 15 g l?1 ethanol from 30 g l?1 xylose under shaking conditions at 28°C, with ethanol yield of 0.5 g g?1 and volumetric productivity of 0.31 g l?1 h?1. The optimum pH range for ethanol production from xylose by Pichia strain BY2 was 5–7. Pichia strain BY2 also produced 6.08 g l?1 ethanol from 30 g l?1 arabinose. Pichia strain BY2 can utilize sugarcane bagasse hemicellulose acid hydrolysate for alcohol production, efficiency of fermentation was improved by neutralization, and sequential use of activated charcoal adsorption method. Percent total sugar utilized and ethanol yield for the untreated hydrolysate was 17.14% w/v and 0.33 g g?1, respectively, compared with 66.79% w/v and 0.45 g g?1, respectively, for treated hemicellulose acid hydrolysate. This new yeast isolate showed ethanol yield of 0.45 g g?1 and volumetric productivity of 0.33 g l?1 h?1 from sugarcane bagasse hemicellulose hydrolysate detoxified by neutralization and activated charcoal treatment, and has potential application in practical process of ethanol production from lignocellulosic hydrolysate.  相似文献

Background and aims

The influences of succession and species diversity on fine root production are not well known in forests. This study aimed to investigate: (i) whether fine root biomass and production increased with successional stage and increasing tree species diversity; (ii) how forest type affected seasonal variation and regrowth of fine roots.

Methods

Sequential coring and ingrowth core methods were used to measure fine root production in four Chinese subtropical forests differing in successional stages and species diversity.

Results

Fine root biomass increased from 262 g·m?2 to 626 g·m?2 with increasing successional stage and species diversity. A similar trend was also found for fine root production, which increased from 86 to 114 g·m?2 yr ?1 for Cunninghamia lanceolata plantation to 211–240 g·m?2 yr ?1 for Choerospondias axillaries forest when estimated with sequential coring data. Fine root production calculated using the ingrowth core data ranged from 186 g·m?2 yr ?1 for C. lanceolata plantation to 513 g·m?2 yr ?1 for Lithocarpus glaber – Cyclobalanopsis glauca forest.

Conclusions

Fine root biomass and production increased along a successional gradient and increasing tree species diversity in subtropical forests. Fine roots in forests with higher species diversity exhibited higher seasonal variation and regrowth rate.  相似文献
