Development of a pseudocapacitor over the integration of metal oxide on carbonaceous materials is a promising step towards energy storage devices with high energy and power densities. Here, a self‐assembled cobalt oxide (CoO) nanorod cluster on three‐dimensional graphene (CoO‐3DG) is synthesized through a facile hydrothermal method followed by heat treatment. As an additive‐free electrode, CoO‐3DG exhibits good electrochemical performance. Compared with CoO nanorod clusters grown on Ni foam (i.e., CoO‐Ni, ≈680 F g?1 at 1 A g?1 and ≈400 F g?1 at 20 A g?1), CoO‐3DG achieves much higher capacitance (i.e., ≈980 F g?1 at 1 A g?1 and ≈600 F g?1 at 20 A g?1) with excellent cycling stability of 103% retention of specific capacitance after 10 000 cycles. Furthermore, it shows an interesting activation process and instability with a redox reaction for CoO. In addition, the phase transformation from CoO nanorods to Co3O4 nanostructures was observed and investigated after charge and discharge process, which suggests the activation kinetics and the phase transformable nature of CoO based nanostructure. These observations demonstrate phase transformation with morphological change induced capacitance increasement in the emergent class of metal oxide materials for electrochemical energy storage device.  相似文献

Conducting polymers such as polyaniline (PAni) show a great potential as pseudocapacitor materials for electrochemical energy storage applications. Yet, the cycling instability of PAni resulting from structural alteration is a major hurdle to its commercial application. Here, the development of nanostructured PAni–RuO2 core–shell arrays as electrodes for highly stable pseudocapacitors with excellent energy storage performance is reported. A thin layer of RuO2 grown by atomic layer deposition (ALD) on PAni nanofibers plays a crucial role in stabilizing the PAni pseudocapacitors and improving their energy density. The pseudocapacitors, which are based on optimized PAni–RuO2 core–shell nanostructured electrodes, exhibit very high specific capacitance (710 F g?1 at 5 mV s?1) and power density (42.2 kW kg?1) at an energy density of 10 Wh kg?1. Furthermore, they exhibit remarkable capacitance retention of ≈88% after 10 000 cycles at very high current density of 20 A g?1, superior to that of pristine PAni‐based pseudocapacitors. This prominently enhanced electrochemical stability successfully demonstrates the buffering effect of ALD coating on PAni, which provides a new approach for the preparation of metal‐oxide/conducting polymer hybrid electrodes with excellent electrochemical performance.  相似文献

A three‐component, flexible electrode is developed for supercapacitors over graphitized carbon fabric, utilizing γ‐MnO2 nanoflowers anchored onto carbon nanotubes (γ‐MnO2/CNT) as spacers for graphene nanosheets (GNs). The three‐component, composite electrode doubles the specific capacitance with respect to GN‐only electrodes, giving the highest‐reported specific capacitance (308 F g?1) for symmetric supercapacitors containing MnO2 and GNs using a two‐electrode configuration, at a scan rate of 20 mV s?1. A maximum energy density of 43 W h kg?1 is obtained for our symmetric supercapacitors at a constant discharge‐current density of 2.5 A g?1 using GN–(γ‐MnO2/CNT)‐nanocomposite electrodes. The fabricated supercapacitor device exhibits an excellent cycle life by retaining ≈90% of the initial specific capacitance after 5000 cycles.  相似文献

Flexible fiber‐shaped supercapacitors have shown great potential in portable and wearable electronics. However, small specific capacitance and low operating voltage limit the practical application of fiber‐shaped supercapacitors in high energy density devices. Herein, direct growth of ultrathin MnO2 nanosheet arrays on conductive carbon fibers with robust adhesion is exhibited, which exhibit a high specific capacitance of 634.5 F g?1 at a current density of 2.5 A g?1 and possess superior cycle stability. When MnO2 nanosheet arrays on carbon fibers and graphene on carbon fibers are used as a positive electrode and a negative electrode, respectively, in an all‐solid‐state asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC), the ASC displays a high specific capacitance of 87.1 F g?1 and an exceptional energy density of 27.2 Wh kg?1. In addition, its capacitance retention reaches 95.2% over 3000 cycles, representing the excellent cyclic ability. The flexibility and mechanical stability of these ASCs are highlighted by the negligible degradation of their electrochemical performance even under severely bending states. Impressively, as‐prepared fiber‐shaped ASCs could successfully power a photodetector based on CdS nanowires without applying any external bias voltage. The excellent performance of all‐solid‐state ASCs opens up new opportunity for development of wearable and self‐powered nanodevices in near future.  相似文献

The use of perovskite materials as anion‐based intercalation pseudocapacitor electrodes has received significant attention in recent years. Notably, these materials, characterized by high oxygen vacancy concentrations, do not require high surface areas to achieve a high energy storage capacity as a result of the bulk intercalation mechanism. This study reports that reduced PrBaMn2O6–δ (r‐PBM), possessing a layered double perovskite structure, exhibits ultrahigh capacitance and functions as an excellent oxygen anion‐intercalation‐type electrode material for supercapacitors. Formation of the layered double perovskite structure, as facilitated by hydrogen treatment, is shown to significantly enhance the capacitance, with the resulting r‐PBM material demonstrating a very high gravimetric capacitance of 1034.8 F g?1 and an excellent volumetric capacitance of ≈2535.3 F cm?3 at a current density of 1 A g?1. The resultant formation of a double perovskite crystal oxide with a specific layered structure leads to the r‐PBM with a substantially higher oxygen diffusion rate and oxygen vacancy concentration. These superior characteristics show immense promise for their application as oxygen anion‐intercalation‐type electrodes in pseudocapacitors.  相似文献

3D‐networked, ultrathin, and porous Ni3S2/CoNi2S4 on Ni foam (NF) is successfully designed and synthesized by a simple sulfidation process from 3D Ni–Co precursors. Interestingly, the edge site‐enriched Ni3S2/CoNi2S4/NF 3D‐network is realized by the etching‐like effect of S2? ions, which made the surfaces of Ni3S2/CoNi2S4/NF with a ridge‐like feature. The intriguing structural/compositional/componental advantages endow 3D‐networked‐free‐standing Ni3S2/CoNi2S4/NF electrodes better electrochemical performance with specific capacitance of 2435 F g?1 at a current density of 2 A g?1 and an excellent rate capability of 80% at 20 A g?1. The corresponding asymmetric supercapacitor achieves a high energy density of 40.0 W h kg?1 at an superhigh power density of 17.3 kW kg?1, excellent specific capacitance (175 F g?1 at 1A g?1), and electrochemical cycling stability (92.8% retention after 6000 cycles) with Ni3S2/CoNi2S4/NF as the positive electrode and activated carbon/NF as the negative electrode. Moreover, the temperature dependences of cyclic voltammetry curve polarization and specific capacitances are carefully investigated, and become more obvious and higher, respectively, with the increase of test temperature. These can be attributed to the components' synergetic effect assuring rich redox reactions, high conductivity as well as highly porous but robust architectures. This work provides a general, low‐cost route to produce high performance electrode materials for portable supercapacitor applications on a large scale.  相似文献

3D CoNi2S4‐graphene‐2D‐MoSe2 (CoNi2S4‐G‐MoSe2) nanocomposite is designed and prepared using a facile ultrasonication and hydrothermal method for supercapacitor (SC) applications. Because of the novel nanocomposite structures and resultant maximized synergistic effect among ultrathin MoSe2 nanosheets, highly conductive graphene and CoNi2S4 nanoparticles, the electrode exhibits rapid electron and ion transport rate and large electroactive surface area, resulting in its amazing electrochemical properties. The CoNi2S4‐G‐MoSe2 electrode demonstrates a maximum specific capacitance of 1141 F g?1, with capacitance retention of ≈108% after 2000 cycles at a high charge–discharge current density of 20 A g?1. As to its symmetric device, 109 F g?1 at a scan rate of 5 mV s?1 is exhibited. This pioneering work should be helpful in enhancing the capacitive performance of SC materials by designing nanostructures with efficient synergetic effects.  相似文献

Here, a simple active materials synthesis method is presented that boosts electrode performance and utilizes a facile screen‐printing technique to prepare scalable patterned flexible supercapacitors based on manganese hexacyanoferrate‐manganese oxide and electrochemically reduced graphene oxide electrode materials (MnHCF‐MnOx/ErGO). A very simple in situ self‐reaction method is developed to introduce MnOx pseudocapacitor material into the MnHCF system by using NH4F. This MnHCF‐MnOx electrode materials can deliver excellent capacitance of 467 F g?1 at a current density of 1 A g?1, which is a 2.4 times capacitance increase compared to MnHCF. In addition a printed, patterned, flexible MnHCF‐MnOx/ErGO supercapacitor is fabricated, showing a remarkable areal capacitance of 16.8 mF cm?2 and considerable energy and power density of 0.5 mWh cm?2 and 0.0023 mW cm?2, respectively. Furthermore, the printed patterned flexible supercapacitors also exhibit exceptional flexibility, and the capacitance remains stable, even while bending to various angles (60°, 90°, and 180°) and for 100 cycles. The flexible supercapacitor arrays integrated by multiple prepared single supercapacitors can power various LEDs even in the bent states. This approach offers promising opportunities for the development of printable energy storage materials and devices with high energy density, large scalability, and excellent flexibility.  相似文献

Active carbons have unique physicochemical properties, but their conductivities and surface to weight ratios are much poorer than graphene. A unique and facile method is innovated to chemically process biomass by “drilling” holes with H2O2 and exfoliating into graphene‐like nanosheets with HAc, followed by carbonization at a high temperature for highly graphitized activated carbon with greatly enhanced porosity, unique pore structure, high conductivity, and large surface area. This graphene‐like carbon exhibits extremely high specific capacitance (340 F g?1 at 0.5 A g?1) and high specific energy density (23.33 to 16.67 W h kg?1) with excellent rate capability and long cycling stability (remains 98% after 10 000 cycles), which is much superior to all reported carbons including graphene. Synthesis mechanism for deriving biomass into porous graphene‐like carbons is discussed in detail. The enhancement mechanism for the porous graphene‐like carbon electrode reveals that rationally designed meso‐ and macropores are very critical in porous electrode performance, which can network micropores for diffusion freeways, high conductivity, and high utilization. This work has universal significance in producing highly porous and conductive carbons from biomass including biowastes for various energy storage/conversion applications.  相似文献

Constructing well defined nanostructures is promising but still challenging for high‐efficiency catalysts for hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and energy storage. Herein, utilizing the differences in surface energies between (111) facets of CoP and NiCoP, a novel CoP/NiCoP heterojunction is designed and synthesized with a nanotadpoles (NTs)‐like morphology via a solid‐state phase transformation strategy. By effective interface construction, the disorder in terms of electronic structure and coordination environment at the interface in CoP/NiCoP NTs is created, which leads to dramatically elevated HER performance within a wide pH range. Theoretical calculations prove that an optimized proton chemisorption and H2O dissociation are achieved by an optimized phosphide polymorph at the interface, accelerating the HER reaction. The CoP/NiCoP NTs are also proved to be excellent candidates for use in supercapacitors (SCs) with a high specific capacitance (1106.2 F g?1 at 1 A g?1) and good cycling stability (nearly 100% initial capacity retention after 1000 cycles). An asymmetric supercapacitor shows a high energy density (145 F g?1 at 1 A g?1) and good cycling stability (capacitance retention is 95% after 3200 cycles). This work provides new insights into the catalyst design for electrocatalytic and energy storage applications.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel freestanding core‐branch negative and positive electrode material through integrating trim aligned Fe2O3 nanoneedle arrays (Fe2O3 NNAs) is first proposed with typical mesoporous structures and NiCo2O4/Ni(OH)2 hybrid nanosheet arrays (NiCo2O4/Ni(OH)2 HNAs) on SiC nanowire (SiC NW) skeletons with outstanding resistance to oxidation and corrosion, good conductivity, and large‐specific surface area. The original built SiC NWs@Fe2O3 NNAs is validated to be a highly capacitive negative electrode (721 F g?1 at 2 A g?1, i.e., 1 F cm?2 at 2.8 mA cm?2), matching well with the similarly constructed SiC NWs@NiCo2O4/Ni(OH)2 HNAs positive electrode (2580 F g?1 at 4 A g?1, i.e., 3.12 F cm?2 at 4.8 mA cm?2). Contributed by the uniquely engineered electrodes, a high‐performance asymmetric supercapacitor (ASC) is developed, which can exhibit a maximum energy density of 103 W h kg?1 at a power density of 3.5 kW kg?1, even when charging the device within 6.5 s, the energy density can still maintain as high as 45 W h kg?1 at 26.1 kW kg?1, and the ASC manifests long cycling lifespan with 86.6% capacitance retention even after 5000 cycles. This pioneering work not only offers an attractive strategy for rational construction of high‐performance SiC NW‐based nanostructured electrodes materials, but also provides a fresh route for manufacturing next‐generation high‐energy storage and conversion systems.  相似文献

The charge storage characteristics of a composite nanoarchitecture with a highly functional 3D morphology are reported. The electrodes are formed by the electropolymerization of aniline monomers into a nanometer‐thick polyaniline (PANI) film that conformally coats graphitic petals (GPs) grown by microwave plasma chemical vapor deposition (MPCVD) on conductive carbon cloth (CC). The hybrid CC/GPs/PANI electrodes yield results near the theoretical maximum capacitance for PANI of 2000 F g?1 (based on PANI mass) and a large area‐normalized specific capacitance of ≈2.6 F cm?2 (equivalent to a volumetric capacitance of ≈230 F cm?3) at a low current density of 1 A g?1 (based on PANI mass). The specific capacitances remain above 1200 F g?1 (based on PANI mass) for currents up to 100 A g?1 with correspondingly high area‐normalized values. The hybrid electrodes also exhibit a high rate capability with an energy density of 110 Wh kg?1 and a maximum power density of 265 kW kg?1 at a current density of 100 A g?1. Long‐term cyclic stability is good (≈7% loss of initial capacitance after 2000 cycles), with coulombic efficiencies >99%. Moreover, prototype all‐solid‐state flexible supercapacitors fabricated from these hybrid electrodes exhibit excellent energy storage performance.  相似文献

In pursuing higher energy density, without compromising the power density of supercapacitor platforms, the application of an advanced 2D nanomaterial is utilized to maximize performance. Antimonene, for the first time, is characterized as a material for applications in energy storage, being applied as an electrode material as the basis of a supercapacitor. Antimonene is shown to significantly improve the energy storage capabilities of a carbon electrode in both cyclic voltammetry and galvanostatic charging. Antimonene demonstrates remarkable performance with a capacitance of 1578 F g?1, with a high charging current density of 14 A g?1. Hence, antimonene is shown to be a highly promising material for energy storage applications. The system also demonstrates a highly competitive energy and power densities of 20 mW h kg?1 and 4.8 kW kg?1, respectively. In addition to the excellent charge storing abilities, antimonene shows good cycling capabilities.  相似文献

Heteroatom doping is widely recognized as an appealing strategy to break the capacitance limitation of carbonaceous materials toward sodium storage. However, the concrete effects, especially for heteroatomic phase transformation, during the sodium storage reaction remain a confusing topic. Here, a novel hypercrosslinked polymerization approach is demonstrated to fabricate pyrrole/thiophene hypercrosslinked microporous copolymer and further give porous carbonaceous materials with accurately regulated N/S dual doping corresponding to starting feeding ratios. Significantly, the N doping contributes to the conductivity and surface wettability, while the S doping is bridged to build stable active sites, which can be electrochemically converted into mercaptan anions via faraday reaction and further enhancing reversible capacities. Meanwhile, the abundant S doping can also conduce to the expanded interlayer spacing to shorten the ions diffusion distance, thus optimizing the reaction kinetic. As a result, the N0.2S0.8‐micro‐dominant porous carbon delivers the highest reversible capacity of 521 mAh g?1 at 100 mA g?1 and excellent cyclic stability over 2000 cycles at 2000 mA g?1 with a capacity decay of 0.0145 mAh g?1 per cycle. This work is anticipated to provide an in‐depth understanding of capacitance contribution and illuminate the heteroatomic phase transformation during sodium storage reactions for doping carbonaceous anodes.  相似文献

Manganese oxide/carbon aerogel composite electrodes are prepared by a self‐limiting anodic‐electrochemical deposition of manganese oxide into a binder‐enriched carbon aerogel layer, drop‐cast on a graphite substrate, using 0.1 M Mn(CH3COO)2·4H2O as the electrolyte. Manganese oxide grows in the form of thin nanofibers along the backbone of the carbon aerogel, leaving adequate working space for the electrolyte and enabling a fuller extent of the utilization of the manganese oxide to make the composite an outstanding supercapacitor electrode material. The manganese oxide is determined to be Mn3O4 with the Raman spectroscopy and high‐resolution transmission electron microscopy. The rectangularity of the cyclic‐voltammogram loops of the composite electrode is excellent and remains that way for scan rates up to a very‐high value of 500 mV s?1, indicating extremely good redox reversibility and cycle efficiency. At a scan rate of 25 mV s?1, the specific capacitance, as measured in 0.5 M Na2SO4 for a potential window of 0.1–0.9 V vs. Ag/AgCl, reaches a maximum value of 503 F g?1 and experiences only a negligible decay of less than 1% at the 6000th cycle, implying an extraordinary cycling stability. The cycling efficiency is as high as 98% at a current density of 8 A g?1 cm?2, showing an almost‐ideal capacitive behavior. The power density reaches 48.5 kW kg?1 and the energy density 21.6 W h kg?1 at a scan rate of 500 mV s?1, well above the specifications of current state‐of‐the‐art supercapacitors.  相似文献

A novel sodium hybrid capacitor (NHC) is constructed with an intercalation‐type sodium material [carbon coated‐Na3V2(PO4)3, C‐NVP] and high surface area‐activated carbon derived from an eco‐friendly resource cinnamon sticks (CDCs) in an organic electrolyte. This novel NHC possesses a combination of high energy and high power density, along with remarkable electrochemical stability. In addition, the C‐NVP/CDC system outperforms present, well‐established lithium hybrid capacitor systems in all areas, and can thus be added to the list of candidates for future electric vehicles. A careful optimization of mass balance between electrode materials enables the C‐NVP/CDC cell to exhibit extraordinary capacitance performance. This novel NHC produces an energy density of 118 Wh kg?1 at a specific power of 95 W kg?1 and retains an energy density of 60 Wh kg?1 with high specific power of 850 W kg?1. Furthermore, a discharge capacitance of 53 F g?1 is obtained from the C‐NVP/CDC cell at a 1 mA cm?2 current density, along with 95% capacitance retention, even after 10 000 cycles. The sluggish kinetics of the Na ion battery system is successfully overcome by developing a stable, high‐performing NHC system.  相似文献

A flexible, transparent, and renewable mesoporous cellulose membrane (mCel‐membrane) featuring uniform mesopores of ≈24.7 nm and high porosity of 71.78% is prepared via a facile and scalable solution‐phase inversion process. KOH‐saturated mCel‐membrane as a polymer electrolyte demonstrates a high electrolyte retention of 451.2 wt%, a high ionic conductivity of 0.325 S cm?1, and excellent mechanical flexibility and robustness. A solid‐state electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) using activated carbon as electrodes, the KOH‐saturated mCel‐membrane as a polymer electrolyte exhibits a high capacitance of 110 F g?1 at 1.0 A g?1, and long cycling life of 10 000 cycles with 84.7% capacitance retention. Moreover, a highly integrated planar‐type micro‐supercapacitor (MSC) can be facilely fabricated by directly depositing the electrode materials on the mCel‐membrane‐based polymer electrolyte without using complicated devices. The resulting MSC exhibits a high areal capacitance of 153.34 mF cm?2 and volumetric capacitance of 191.66 F cm?3 at 10 mV s?1, representing one of the highest values among all carbon‐based MSC devices. These findings suggest that the developed renewable, flexible, mesoporous cellulose membrane holds great promise in the practical applications of flexible, solid‐state, portable energy storage devices that are not limited to supercapacitors.  相似文献

Hierarchically porous nitrogen‐doped carbon (HPC)/polyaniline (PANI) nanowire arrays nanocomposites are synthesized by a facile in situ polymerization. 3D interconnected honeycomb‐like HPC was prepared by a cost‐effective route via one‐step carbonization using urea and alkali‐treated wheat flour as carbon precursor with a high specific surface area (1294 m2 g?1). The specific capacitances of HPC and HPC/PANI (with a surface area of 923 m2 g?1) electrode are 383 and 1080 F g?1 in 1 m H2SO4, respectively. Furthermore, an asymmetric supercapacitor based on HPC/PANI as positive electrode and HPC as negative electrode is successfully assembled with a voltage window of 0–1.8 V in 1 m Na2SO4 aqueous electrolyte, exhibiting high specific capacitance (134 F g?1), high energy density (60.3 Wh kg?1) and power density (18 kW kg?1), and excellent cycling stability (91.6% capacitance retention after 5000 cycles).  相似文献

Supercapacitors attract great interest because of the increasing and urgent demand for environment‐friendly high‐power energy sources. Ti3C2, a member of MXene family, is a promising electrode material for supercapacitors owing to its excellent chemical and physical properties. However, the highest gravimetric capacitance of the MXene‐based electrodes is still relatively low (245 F g?1) and the key challenge to improve this is to exploit more pseudocapacitance by increasing the active site concentration. Here, a method to significantly improve the gravimetric capacitance of Ti3C2Tx MXenes by cation intercalation and surface modification is reported. After K+ intercalation and terminal groups (OH?/F?) removing , the intercalation pseudocapacitance is three times higher than the pristine MXene, and MXene sheets exhibit a significant enhancement (about 211% of the origin) in the gravimetric capacitance (517 F g?1 at a discharge rate of 1 A g?1). Moreover, the as‐prepared electrodes show above 99% retention over 10 000 cycles. This improved electrochemical performance is attributed to the large interlayer voids of Ti3C2 and lowest terminated surface group concentration. This study demonstrates a new strategy applicable to other MXenes (Ti2CTx , Nb2CTx , etc.) in maximizing their potential applications in energy storage.  相似文献

Capacitive energy storage offers several attractive properties compared to batteries, including higher power, faster charging, and a longer cycle life. A key limitation to this electrochemical energy‐storage approach is its low energy density and, for this reason, there is considerable interest in identifying pseudocapacitor materials where faradaic reactions are used to achieve greater charge storage. This paper reports on the electrochemical properties of Nb2O5 and establishes that crystalline phases of the material undergo fast faradaic reactions that lead to high specific capacitance in short charging times. In particular, the specific capacitance for the orthorhombic phase at infinite sweep rate reaches ≈400 F g?1, which exceeds that of birnessite MnO2 in nonaqueous electrolyte and is comparable to RuO2 at the same extrapolated rate. The specific capacitances of the orthorhombic and pseudohexagonal phases are much greater than that of the amorphous phase, suggesting that the faradaic reactions which lead to additional capacitive energy storage are associated with Li+ insertion along preferred crystallographic pathways. The ability for Nb2O5 to store charge at high rates despite its wide bandgap and low electronic conductivity is very different from what is observed with other transition metal oxides.  相似文献
