The relationship between chlorophyll a and fractionation of sediment phosphorus, inorganic phosphate-solubilizing bacteria (IPB), and organic phosphate-mineralizing bacteria (OPB) was evaluated in a large Chinese shallow eutrophic lake (Lake Taihu) and its embayment (Wuli Bay). At the three study sites, the increase of chlorophyll a concentrations in April paralleled those of the iron bound phosphate accounting for major portion of sediment inorganic phosphate, and in June significantly higher OPB and IPB numbers (especially OPB) in sediment were main contributors to the peaks of chlorophyll a concentration. Even though IPB peaked from February to June, it should serve as an unimportant P source due to the irrelevancy with chlorophyll a and soluble reactive phosphorus (SRP). By contrast, at the other site in the embayment, the calcium-bound phosphate was predominant and solid, which was difficult to be released, and neither IPB nor OPB were detectable in the sediment, indicating weak potential for phosphorus release from the sediment, which was reflected in the small seasonal variation in SRP concentration in water column. Hence, the extents to which the three general mechanisms behind phosphate release from sediment (desorption of iron bound phosphate, solubilization by IPB and enzymatic hydrolysis by OPB) operated were different depending on seasons and sites in Lake Taihu, they may jointly drive phosphate release and accelerate the eutrophication processes.  相似文献

River mouth areas of eutrophic lakes have frequent cyanobacterial blooms and high organophosphate mineralization rates. To determine the genetic background of the high organophosphate mineralization rate in river mouth areas of eutrophic lakes, we compared the diversity and abundance of bacterial alkaline phosphatase PhoX-encoding genes in the river mouth areas and the lake center within the large eutrophic Lake Taihu, China. Results showed that the seasonal average values of phosphorus content, bacterial alkaline phosphatase activity, diversity, and abundance of bacterial phoX in the river mouths were significantly higher than those in the lake center, and 47% of all identified genotypes were present only in the river mouths. The genotypes most similar to alphaproteobacterial phoX dominated in both regions, with 72% and 64% of the total genotypes in the lake center and river mouths, respectively. More than 40% of the total phoX genotypes were only found in the river mouths, however, indicating the special microbial nature in this hypereutrophic habitat. The differences in contents of dissolved organic carbon and phosphorus were related to the divergences of bacterial phoX genotypes in these two contrasting habitats. Because some dominant genotypes most similar to phoX genes of alphaproteobacterial genus were observed only in the river mouth areas, such as Microvirga sp. WSM3557, and because the hydraulic retention time of Lake Taihu is insufficient to shape the special bacterial groups in the river mouths, allochthonous inputs of nutrients and bacterial species could make contributions to explain the different organophosphate mineralization rates in these two contrasting habitats of the large eutrophic lake.  相似文献

Although organic-aggregate-associated bacteria play a pivotal role in microbial food webs and in the cycling of major elements, their community composition and diversity have not been extensively studied, especially in shallow freshwater systems. This study is among the first to explore intra-lake horizontal heterogeneity of organic-aggregate-associated bacterial community composition (OABC) in the large, shallow, and eutrophic Lake Taihu. During November 2006, samples were collected at four locations representing different trophic states and food web structures. Regional variability of OABC and diversity were studied by amplified ribosomal DNA restriction analysis and comparative analysis of four large 16S ribosomal RNA clone libraries. Our results demonstrate that OABC were numerically dominated by members of the β-proteobacteria (19.2–38.6%), Bacteroidetes (3.6–20.0%), and α-proteobacteria (11.5–19.2%) groups. The dominance of the Bacteroidetes group was related to algae-based aggregates. Horizontal heterogeneity of OABC exists within habitats, suggesting that the trophic state of the water and the physicochemical properties of organic aggregates (OA) play a key role. Diverse bacterial communities found on OA were substantially different from free-living ones. Comparative statistical analyses of the habitats of OA-associated bacteria highlight the potential ecological importance of the exchange between OABC and the surrounding planktonic community. Lastly, we found at least 45% of sequences closely related to ones previously found in soils, sludge, sediments, and other habitats. This demonstrates that microorganisms from terrestrial and sediment habitats are an important component of OA. 太湖竺山湾沉积物中氨氧化原核生物的垂直分布与多样性   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8  
原核生物驱动的氨氧化过程对于富营养化湖泊的氮循环具有重要意义。为了解太湖藻型湖区沉积物中氨氧化原核生物的垂直分布和多样性特征,采用分子生态学方法,对竺山湾沉积物剖面中氨单加氧酶基因(amoA)或16S rRNA基因等特征分子标记的变化和序列特征进行了分析。结果表明,氨氧化细菌(ammonia-oxidizing bacteria,AOB)和氨氧化古菌(ammonia-oxidizing archaea,AOA)共存于沉积物各层。AOB的优势种在5cm深度以下发生明显改变,这可能与沉积物氧化还原电位及铵态氮的变化有关;所有细菌amoA序列均属亚硝化单胞菌(Nitrosomonas)。AOA群落结构自表层至7cm深度变化不大,所有古菌amoA序列分属泉古菌CG1.1b和CG1.1a两大类群,这可能与太湖形成历史上的海陆交替过程有关。此外,沉积物各层均未发现典型厌氧氨氧化(anaerobic ammonium oxidation,anammox)细菌16S rRNA基因序列。这些发现丰富了对太湖藻型湖区氨氧化原核生物分布、多样性及环境调控原理的认识,对理解富营养化湖泊氨氧化规律、认识湖泊生态系统氮循环功能具有借鉴意义。  相似文献

自洱海十个点位的沉积物中富集筛选出101株反硝化细菌并从中筛选出1株较强反硝化能力的细菌,命名为EH314。该细菌接触酶(过氧化氢酶)试验、产硫化氢试验和淀粉水解均为阳性,葡萄糖氧化发酵实验结果为氧化菌,产脂酶(Tween 80)试验结果为阴性;初步鉴定该菌为产碱杆菌属细菌;对细菌反硝化能力进行测定发现,菌株EH314能有效地降解水体中的硝酸盐且反硝化可在有氧条件下进行。  相似文献

Sediment phosphorus (P) release accelerates lake eutrophication, while retention capacity and release potential of different P fractions, calcium-bound P (CaCO3~P) in particular, still remains unclear. Fractionation and sorption behaviors of phosphorus were studied in sediment of a Chinese shallow lake (Lake Wabu) and two inflowing rivers from December 2011 to December 2012. Abundance of P releasing bacteria was analyzed, and their main species were isolated using a culture-dependent method and identified by their 16S rDNA sequences. CaCO3~P release abilities of these bacteria were also tested. In sediments of both the lake and rivers studied, the rank order of the different P extracts was CaCO3~P > iron-bound P > acid-soluble organic P > hot NaOH-extractable organic P. At the same time, CaCO3~P content and equilibrium P concentration (EPC0) values in river sediments were significantly higher than those in the lake. Additionally, EPC0 changes non-monotonically with increasing CaCO3~P content, forming a V-shaped curve, with the lowest EPC0 at an intermediate CaCO3~P content (around 180 mg kg?1). Below this threshold, CaCO3~P was a component strengthening P retention; moreover, CaCO3~P became an active species responsible for P release. Noticeably, between the two parts divided by this threshold, the differences in abundance of inorganic phosphorus solubilizing bacteria (IPB) and organic phosphorus mineralizing bacteria (OPB) were insignificant and the dominant IPB species clustered together. By contrast, OPB was distinguished from each other, whose dominant species isolated from the part with higher CaCO3~P content, namely Novosphingobium sp., exhibited a stronger ability to solubilize CaCO3~P. Shortly, with lower content, CaCO3~P tends to stabilize P in sediment; while with higher content or under eutrophic condition, it shifted into P source, with some OPB species becoming the main factors to drive its release.  相似文献

The water quality of Lake Geneva has declined steadily since the 1960s, due to a continuous increase of external phosphorus loading. Average P level in the lake increased steadily to a peak in 1979, and even 1981 in the case of P content in the trophogenic layer. Since then, reduced external inputs related to the delayed effects of phosphorus removal from waste waters initiated many years previously has led to a decrease in P level, and resulted in present stabilization and even improvement in water quality. Long-term changes in zooplankton abundance correspond quite closely to eutrophication level changes. After increasing since the 1960s, maximum zooplankton biomass was recorded for the first time in 1971; a second main peak appeared in 1981 together with the highest eutrophication level. Over the last seven years, zooplankton abundance has decreased continuously, while water transparency has decreased and phytoplankton production has remained at a high level.  相似文献

太湖沉积物微生物生物量及其与碳、氮、磷的相关性   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
对太湖沉积物中微生物生物量碳(MBc)、氮(MBN)、磷(MBp),以及沉积物总有机碳(TOC)、总氮(TN)、总磷(TP)进行测定并进行相关性分析,揭示太湖沉积物微生物对太湖沉积物营养盐的响应及反馈特征.结果表明:沉积物微生物生物量(MB)在湖体沿岸地区大于湖心区,平均值为184.66 mg·kg-1,MBc在西部沿岸区以及竺山湾和梅梁湾区域较高,平均值为127.57 mg·kg-1;MBN在梅梁湾、贡湖部分区域以及靠近梅梁湾和贡湖的湖心区域和东部沿岸区较高,平均值为19.25 mg·kg-1;MBp在东部沿岸区及其附近的湖心区最高,平均值为19.09 mg·kg-1;沉积物TOC高值区(≥2.30 g· kg-1)主要集中在竺山湾、西部沿岸区、梅梁湾、贡湖地区,平均值为1.59 g·kg-1;沉积物TN高值区(≥0.30g· kg-1)主要集中在贡湖、梅梁湾、竺山湾部分地区以及西部沿岸区,平均值为0.21 g·kg-1;沉积物TP高值区(≥1.20g·kg-1)主要集中在东部沿岸区以及湖心部分区域,平均值为0.55 g·kg-1;太湖沉积物TOC/TN在7~19,平均值为8.97,表明太湖沉积物中的有机质具有明显的双重来源,其中陆源有机质主要集中在西部沿岸区;太湖沉积物MB与沉积物TOC和TN呈显著正相关,与沉积物TP相关性不显著;沉积物MBc/MBN与沉积物TOC/TN显著相关.太湖沉积物微生物主要受沉积物TOC、TN影响,且沉积物TOC/TN的变化显著影响微生物群落结构.  相似文献

The surficial sediment (0–10 cm) of shallow eutrophic Lake Võrtsjärv (Estonia) was characterized by an acid insoluble residue of 50% dry weight and low nutrient, Fe and Mn content. Among phosphorus (P) fractions (Hieltjes and Lijklema , 1980), NaOH-NRP amounted on an average to 50%, HCl-RP to 30%, NaOH-RP to 16%, and NH4Cl-RP to 4% of their sum. Seasonal changes in sediment P content were inconsistent with mass balance calculations and could be attributed to sediment redistribution caused by decreasing water level. High Fe/P ratio (26–30) and the aeration of surficial sediment by frequent resuspension kept phosphate adsorbed. Low pore-water SRP (commonly <10 μg l−1) usually prevented phosphate release from surficial sediment. However, a storm in September 1996 (max. wind speed 16 m s−1) which coincided with the extremely low water level in the lake (mean depth 1.44 m), denuded deeper anoxic sediment layers and caused a SRP release of 193 mg P m−2 d−1.  相似文献

The development of Cyclotella ocellata Pantocsek was studied systematically in the eutrophic, dimictic hardwater Lake Dagow from March to October, 1994. Cyclotella ocellata was the most important centric diatom in the lake with a maximum cell density of 6 × 106 cells 1−1. The seasonal development, characterized by a spring and a summer maximum, is considered in relation to environmental factors and the succession of the phytoplankton community. The amount of Cyclotella ocellata biomass as a proportion of the total phytoplankton biomass varied from 0.5 to 35%. In addition, seasonal changes in cell size and feature associated with sexual reproduction of Cyclotella ocellata were documented. Light and electron microscopic investigations demonstrate an extremely wide range of morphological variability of this natural population.  相似文献

Taihu Lake is one of the largest freshwater lakes in China. The lake is very shallow with a mean depth of 1.9 m and an area of 2428 km2. This is the first time that polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon concentrations in the surface sediments of Taihu Lake have been analyzed. A distinctive spatial distribution of PAHs was observed. Sediments from Lake Wulihu and Meiliang Bay (sites 1–5) had significantly higher PAH concentrations (858–5260 g kg–1 dw) than any other area of Taihu Lake. These high PAH levels were associated with the input of untreated and partially treated domestic and industrial sewage from Wuxi, Changzhou, Wujin and other cities. Special PAH ratios, such as phenanthrene/anthracene and fluoranthene/pyrene, were calculated to evaluate the relative importance of different origins. The data confirmed a relatively high level of petrogenic contamination in sites 1–5 (mainly sewage discharge and the river runoff). The other samples were further from the sources of pollution and have relatively low PAH concentrations (410–768 g kg–1 dw). The sources of PAHs in these sites (6–13) were characterized by combustion-derived PAH contamination associated with atmospheric deposition. In addition, effects range low (ERL) and effects range median (ERM) guidelines (Long et al., 1995) were used to estimate the potential of adverse effects resulting from PAH contamination in Taihu Lake sediments. The results indicated that some sites in the northern part of the lake had levels of PAH that exceeded the ERL value. This was interpreted to mean that acute biological effects may occasionally be expected to occur.  相似文献

水生植物在浅水湖泊生态系统中具有十分重要的作用。根据中国科学院太湖湖泊生态系统研究站1989年以来的常规监测资料,将西太湖(除东太湖以外的湖区)划分为9个区,采用点截法(point intercept method),于2002~2005年对各区水生植物的种类、生物量和空间分布情况进行了6次调查。结果表明:西太湖现有水生植物16种,分属于11科12属;水生植物总面积约10220hm^2,其中沉水植物分布面积约占64.58%;挺水植物约占0.29%;漂浮植物约占38.16%。各个种之间生物量差异显著,马来眼子菜、荇菜、芦苇的生物量在所有水生植物中居前3位。多样性分析表明,水生植物种类4a来未发生明显变化,但种类和生物量季节性差异较大。水生植物呈环状分布在距湖岸5km以内的水域和部分岛屿周围,东岸和南岸为水生植物的主要集中分布区域,分布区连续性好,且水草种类齐全。挺水植物种类单一,仅有芦苇(Phragmites communis)一种,分布区域多限于水深小于1.6m的湖岸;沉水植物共有8种,为水生植物的主要组成部分,马来眼子菜(Potamogeton malaianus)的分布频度最高,在西山岛周围水域逐年扩张,成为该区域的先锋种;漂浮植物3种,主要以荇菜(Nymphoides peltata)为主,在七都水域有逐渐扩张的趋势。马来眼子菜、芦苇、荇菜表现出对水环境较强的适应能力,目前为西太湖的3个优势种。20世纪50年代以来,西太湖水生植物种类减少了50种,其中水质下降是导致水生植物种类不断减少甚至消失的一个重要原因。围网养殖和不合理的捕捞方式也对局部水域的植物造成极大的破坏。水生植物生存环境日益严峻,种群单一化趋势日益明显。  相似文献

Spatial, vertical, and seasonal variations in phosphorus fractions and in alkaline phosphatase activity (APA) were investigated in sediments in a large-shallow eutrophic Chinese lake (Lake Taihu) in 2003–2004. The phosphorus content was highest in the most seriously polluted lake area. Iron-bound phosphorus (Fe(OOH)~P) dominated (47% on average) among the phosphorus fractions determined according to Golterman (Hydrobiologia 335:87–95, 1996). Notably, organically-bound P comprised a further significant additional portion (acid-soluble + hot NaOH-extractable organic P = 25%), which was highest at the most polluted sites. The Fe(OOH)~P content was the lowest in spring (April, 2004), suggesting that degradation of organic matter led to the release of iron-bound phosphates. Sediment APA showed a significant positive relationship with both organically-bound P and Fe(OOH)~P. Consequently, organically-bound P is an important portion of the sediment phosphorus in Lake Taihu. It is mainly derived from freshly-settled autochthonous particles and from external discharges. Organically-bound P induces APA and may lead to the release of bioavailable phosphates from the organic sediments, thereby accelerating lake eutrophication.  相似文献

The vertical distribution of the variables relevant to P forms in sediments were studied in a shallow Chinese freshwater lake (Lake Donghu) in 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000, to assess the contribution of enzyme to P availability in sediment cores. Sediment P was fractionationd into iron-bound P, calcium-bound P, acid soluble organic P (ASOP) and hot NaOH extractable residual organic P. The former two species made the largest contribution to the sediment P pool. All P species exhibited significantly higher concentrations in different depths at Station I, compared with those found at Station II, except for ASOP. Coupled with these lower ASOP concentrations, the V max data of alkaline phosphatase, measured on the same samples, were significantly higher at station I. Taken together, ASOP were probably important in supplying the enzymatic substrate (Phosphatase Hydrolyzable Phosphorus, PHP) into interstitial water. Dissolved orthophosphate and PHP concentrations were highly heterogeneous , but peaked in subsurface, paralleled by higher V max and lower K m values of alkaline phosphatase, throughout the sediment core. Sediment in the eutrophic lake is not only enriched in available P (iron-bound P), or stores residual P, but also tends to release PHP, thereby inducing the production of alkaline phosphatase and releasing o-P into water column by enzymatic hydrolysis. 选取太湖梅梁湾和湖心柱状沉积物,研究了其有机碳同位素(δ13C)和氮同位素(δ15N)、C/N、总有机碳(TOC)、总氮(TN)、总磷(TP)含量,并结合210Pb和137Cs沉积物年代测定技术,探究了近百年太湖沉积物有机质和氮的来源。结果表明:太湖梅梁湾湖区在近百年来,其有机质来源总体以自生为主。50年代以前,湖区受到人类活动的影响较小,沉积物有机质主要来自于湖泊自身水生植物的沉积;50年代到70年代,湖泊内部环境发生变化,湖区逐渐出现藻类大量死亡并沉积的现象,有机质主要来自于水生植物和藻类的共同沉积;70年代到80年代沉积物机质藻类贡献进一步增大;90年代后到现在,则以藻类的沉积为主要来源方式。梅梁湾湖区沉积物氮素的来源在50年代以前主要以流域土壤流失和大型水生植物的死亡为主;50年代到70年代,人类活动的加剧导致大量工业废水、生活污水的输入,藻类开始大面积爆发,氮主要来自于外源的输入、大型植物和藻类的死亡沉积;90年代后到现在,外源氮的输入得到有效地控制,藻类对沉积物氮的贡献相对显著。湖心区域沉积物有机质和氮的来源主要来自于湖泊内部水生植物的沉积。70年代前,沉积物有机质和氮的来源主要来自于水生植物的沉积和水土流失作用;70年代至今,虽然湖泊受到人类活动外源物质输入影响逐渐增大,但总体来讲贡献较小,沉积物有机质和氮的来源仍以湖泊自生为主。  相似文献

Microcystis colonies collected in a hypertrophic lake (Lake Taihu, China) in October and November 2012 were divided into five subsamples according to colony size (<75, 75–150, 150–300, 300–500, and >500 μm). All the subsamples collected in November were dominated with Microcystis ichthyoblabe and the percentages of M. ichthyoblabe exceeded 83%. The percentages of Microcystis aeruginosa of the subsamples in >500 μm class collected in October was 93.5%. For the sample collected in October, the percentage of M. ichthyoblabe was more than 58% in <75, 75–150, 150–300 μm classes. The 16S rDNA as well as some polysaccharide biosynthesis-related genes were analyzed to understand the phylogeny of Microcystis species. There was no variant site presented in each Microcystis subsample but a single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) was found in 16S rDNA alignment tested using MSR1 in subsamples between the two months in the current study. Our results also showed that samples collected in two months can by divided into two parts by the phylogenetic analysis using two polysaccharide biosynthesis-related genes (espL and TagH). All the results suggested that 16S rDNA was valuable to identify seasonal succession of Microcystis genospecies and the diversity of Microcystis morphospecies would be explained by these polysaccharide biosynthesis-related genes.  相似文献

A yearlong campaign to examine sediment resuspension was conducted in large, shallow and eutrophic Lake Taihu, China, to investigate the influence of vegetation on sediment resuspension and its nutrient effects. The study was conducted at 6 sites located in both phytoplankton-dominated zone and macrophyte-dominated zone of the lake, lasting for a total of 13 months, with collections made at two-week intervals. Sediment resuspension in Taihu, with a two-week high average rate of 1771 g·m-2·d-1 and a yearly average rate of 377 g·m-2·d-1, is much stronger than in many other lakes worldwide, as Taihu is quite shallow and contains a long fetch. The occurrence of macrophytes, however, provided quite strong abatement of sediment resuspension, which may reduce the sediment resuspension rate up to 29-fold. The contribution of nitrogen and phosphorus to the water column from sediment resuspension was estimated as 0.34 mg·L-1 and 0.051 mg·L-1 in the phytoplankton-dominated zone. Sediment resuspension also largely reduced transparency and then stimulated phytoplankton growth. Therefore, sediment resuspension may be one of the most important factors delaying the recovery of eutrophic Lake Taihu, and the influence of sediment resuspension on water quality must also be taken into account by the lake managers when they determine the restoration target.  相似文献

Heavy metal distribution, bioavailability, and ecological risk in the surface sediment of Taihu Lake were evaluated. Samples were collected from eight representative sites in September 2011 and February 2012. In the surface sediment, average metal contents were in the order of Cr > Zn > Ni > Pb > Cu. Spatially, Zhushan Bay maintained higher Cu, Ni, and Zn contents and Xiaomeikou maintained higher Cr and Pb contents than other sites. Spatial and temporal variation were observed in the bioavailable metals determined by acid-soluble fraction of BCR extraction. The labile metals in Zhushan Bay and Xiaomeikou were quantified by diffusive gradients in thin films (DGT) and DGT-labile concentrations of Zn, Ni, Cu, Pb, and Cd were in descending order, indicating the inconsistence of labile concentrations of different heavy metals with the total metal contents and that the toxic effect of Cd in sediment should be given attention. The ecological risk assessed by Hakanson potential ecological risk index showed that Zhushan Bay suffered the most serious pollution and should be given special attention. Bioavailability of metals should be taken into account during risk assessment for more accurate estimation.  相似文献

采用平板划线法从人工湿地污水处理系统底泥和污水中分离出 2 3株细菌 ,在实验室条件下检测了这些细菌对灭菌污水和自然污水CODcr的去除效果 ,结果表明其中 8株细菌 (DN -4、DN -5、DN- 6、DN -10、DN -11、DN -12、DN- 13、WS- 5 )对灭菌污水和自然污水的CODcr均有较高的去除率 ,胞外酶检测表明该 8株细菌均能产生淀粉酶和接触酶 ,这些细菌具有潜在的应用价值。  相似文献

485 isolates were recorded from different localities between summer 1984 and spring 1985. These isolates comprise five different genera with eight different species of purple non-sulfur bacteria- Rhodopseudomonas was the most common genus at all sites and was represented by three species. R. acidophila, R. blastica, R. palustris. Rhodomicrobium was the second in frequency and was represented by R. vannielli only. This species was only recorded for khor sites. Rhodocyclus was represented by two species, R. gelatinosus and R. tenuis. Rhodobacter and Rhodospirillum were represented by one species each, Rhodobacter capsulatus and Rhodospirillum rubrum. Khor sites were richer in number of isolates and genera of purple non-sulphur bacteria than the main body of AHDL. Some species were more common in winter and spring while others predominate in summer and autumn.  相似文献
