The formation of biogenic fabrics in limestone by two fungi, Serpula himantioides and a polymorphic fungal isolate from limestone identified as a Cephalotrichum (syn. Doratomyces) sp., was investigated. The fungal cultures were grown in laboratory microcosms consisting of Carboniferous limestone and after 21 d incubation at 25°C, biomineralization of fungal filaments was observed. Environmental electron scanning microscopy (ESEM) and X-ray micro-analysis (EDXA) of crystalline precipitates on the hyphae of S. himantioides demonstrated that the secondary crystals exhibited different crystalline forms but were similar in elemental composition to the original limestone. Powder X-ray diffraction (XRD) of crystalline precipitates showed they were composed of a mixture of calcite (CaCO 3 ) and calcium oxalate monohydrate (CaC 2 O 4 · H 2 O). Analysis of crystals precipitated on the hyphae of the limestone isolate, using ESEM and EDXA, showed that the crystals exhibited similar morphological characteristics and elemental composition to the original limestone. XRD showed that they were composed solely of calcite (CaCO 3 ) or of calcite with some calcium oxalate dihydrate (CaC 2 O 4 · 2H 2 O). These results provide direct experimental evidence for the precipitation of calcite (CaCO 3 ) and also secondary mycogenic minerals, on fungal hyphae in low nutrient calcareous environments, and suggest that fungi may play a wider role in the biogeochemical carbon cycle than has previously been appreciated.  相似文献

Fungal filaments are the most abundant organic features in weathered profiles developed on chalky limestone ("platy calcrete"). Their activity affects the mineral dynamics of the pore/carbonate microsystem. A theoretical biogeochemical model is proposed to describe the Ca-oxalate-carbonate cycle related to fungal activity in dry environments.The system studied is the pore itself (defined as the reactor) delimited by its wall and its content: solutions, gases (air and CO2), microorganic material, their transformation products and the minerals present (calcite and calcium oxalate). The system exchanges gas and solution with the outside environment, which includes micritic calcite, solutions, a gaseous phase (air and CO2), and the nanoporosity of the pore wall constituted by the micritic matrix. A diagram of pH = f(log |Ca2+|) is constructed to simulate the behaviour of various fungal excretions, whether the system is open or semi-closed. Two steps are studied. In the first step, the fungi is in full metabolic activity, and assumed to secrete i) an organic diacid (BH2) of soluble calcium salt, or ii) oxalic acid, or iii) soluble sodium oxalate, or iv) CO2. In the second step, bacteria transform the oxalates into carbonates. In the first step, the model concurs with petrographic observations, on the condition that the system is semi-closed and the aggressive agent produced by the hypha is mostly oxalic acid (COOH)2. In the second step, the pore solution becomes saturated in calcite, whether the system is open or semi-closed. This explains the calcium carbonate precipitation inside the pore as needles or microsparite and impregnation of the micritic matrix around the pores. In conclusion, the presence of fungi allows a redistribution of calcium carbonate. This secondary cementation is strong in the case of recrystallization of pore walls and weaker when infilling voids with needles.  相似文献

A system for radioactive labeling of compounds of biological interest that, due to their low electronic density, cannot be labeled by the standard iodination techniques is described. Using p-nitroanisole as a model, we have prepared 2-[125I]iodo-4-nitroanisole by treatment with thallium trifluoroacetate, with later displacement of the thallium by iodide according to A. McKillop et al. (J. Amer. Chem. Soc.93, 4841–4844 (1970)). The labeled iodonitroanisole has been used as a photoactive reagent to label a protein (bovine serum albumin), showing that under the irradiation conditions used, the label is incorporated into the polypeptide mainly through modification of ?-amino groups of the lysine residues.  相似文献

多数研究表明外生菌根真菌能够促进植物养分吸收并提高植物生长,但是对其发生的原因研究较少。本文在室内控制条件下,研究了真菌菌丝分泌N、P相关胞外酶及其受土壤有机碳(胡敏酸)和无机碳(碳酸钙)添加的影响,结果表明:1)3种真菌——松乳菇(Lactarius deliciosus)、变色红菇(Russula integra)、铆钉菇(Gomphidius viscidus)菌丝均能够分泌酸性磷酸酶和蛋白酶,而且多数情况下,MMN培养基培养14 d时,各个酶活性较高,而不同菌的胞外酶活性存在较大的差异,平均值来看铆钉菇酸性磷酸酶活性最低而蛋白酶活性最高,其它2个真菌菌丝的胞外酶活性差异不大;2)添加胡敏酸后,3种菌丝的酸性磷酸酶活性都是随着胡敏酸添加量的增加而逐渐增加;但蛋白酶活性存在差异:松乳菇的蛋白酶活性随着胡敏酸添加量的增加而逐渐增加;变色红菇的蛋白酶活性对胡敏酸不敏感,受其影响不大;铆钉菇的蛋白酶活力在少量的胡敏酸作用下最强,但浓度过高反而抑制其蛋白酶的活性。3)添加碳酸钙后,总体来看,3种菌丝胞外酸性磷酸酶和蛋白酶活性都是添加少量碳酸钙时酶活性最强,随着浓度的增加(如0.1 g),其酶活性开始受到抑制。综上所述,真菌菌丝能够分泌酸性磷酸酶和蛋白酶,这可能是因为这些外生菌根真菌能够促进植物养分吸收和快速生长的原因;有机碳和无机碳的加入可以直接影响真菌菌丝胞外酶的分泌,进而影响土壤内有机磷和有机氮化合物的分解,显示其在土壤碳循环中的作用。  相似文献

Biochemical weathering mechanisms carried out by Penicillium frequentans and Cladosporium cladosporoides on unaltered sandstone, granite and limestone were studied using FTIR, X-ray diffraction, atomic absorption and flame photometry. Strains belonging to both fungal species, isolated from the façades of two Spanish Cathedrals, were used.Large amounts of oxalic, citric and gluconic acids were produced by P. frequentans in broth cultures. These metabolites caused extensive deterioration of clay silicates, micas and feldspars from both sandstone and granite and also of calcite and dolomite from limestone, as a result of high cation release and organic salts formation such as calcium, magnesium and ferric oxalates and calcium citrates. Comparatively, the biodegradative effect brought about by C. cladosporoides was much less than that caused by P. frequentans. Neither organic acids nor organic salts were formed by C. cladosporiodes samples.It is concluded that filamentous fungi are able to cause an extensive weathering of stone, due principally to organic acid excretion, although other metabolites participate to a lesser extent in these deteriorative processes. Ecological adaptative mechanisms, such micronutrients uptake and trivalent cations chelation (Fe3+ and Al3+) are derived from fungal growth on stone monuments.  相似文献

The common cause of skin infections are dermatophytes and opportunistic fungi. Aim of present study is to find predominant etiological agent of dermatophytoses and to isolate various fungal agents from clinical samples of patients with different mycoses and Clinical samples from 260 patients were subjected to potassium hydroxide (KOH) examination and culture isolation; causative agents were identified macroscopically and microscopically. One hundred sixty three (62.7%) were found to be positive by KOH examination while 132 (50.8%) were culture positive. Dermatophytes were isolated in 90/140 (64.3%) specimens. Trichophyton rubrum (75.5%) was the commonest isolate among the patients suffering from dermatophytoses. Candida spp. and Malassezia furfur were isolated from patient suffering from candidiasis and pityriasis versicolor.  相似文献

The fungal density of one hundred and forty-eight samples of sands obtained from forty-two Spanish Mediterranean littoral beaches are investigated. The CFU/g number ranged from 15 and 76×105. The most commonly isolated genera were: Penicillium, Cladosporium, Aspergillus, Acremonium, Alternaria, Fusarium. The keratinophilic capacity of all the isolated fungal strains was also determined.  相似文献

由于漆酶能够氧化芳香类化合物和其它一些非芳香类有机物,具有广泛的底物特异性,因此在纸浆漂白、纺织品染料脱色、有毒废弃物的去除、生物修复和生物传感器等方面具有巨大的应用潜力。但是缺少大量廉价的酶源供应阻碍了漆酶商业化的应用,解决这个问题的一个主要方法就是通过漆酶的异源表达来获得大量的漆酶。综述了真菌漆酶在酵母表达系统和丝状真菌表达系统中表达的研究结果,着重总结了影响漆酶异源表达的因素和提高漆酶表达的策略。  相似文献

Mycelial fractal values were compared to the conventional fungal morphological parameters: average total mycelial length, average number of tips and average growth unit. The fractal values were between 1.47 to 1.3 for the various submerged culture conditions of Aspergillus niger. The average pellet diameter was 1.4 mm at the fractal value of 1.47. The mycelia with fractal values close to 1 were less branched and slim.  相似文献

The taxonomic composition and quantitative distribution of the meiobenthos were studied in materials collected from one of the former nuclear test sites by the Novaya Zemlya Archipelago in Chernaya Guba (Barents Sea) and from the grounds of nuclear waste disposal along the east coast of the Archipelago from Abrosimov Bay to Stepovoi Bay and the region of Novozemel'skaya Hollow (Kara Sea). Foraminifera and free living nematodes were the most numerous groups, and foraminifera prevailed in terms of biomass in the entire area studied. No correlation of the parameters of the meiobenthic communities with varying depth and type of ground was revealed. It was established that the taxonomic diversity increased and population density decreased with an increase in the concentration of 137Cs. It was suggested that meiobenthic communities are able to respond quickly to the deterioration of environmental radioactivity, varying their taxonomic composition and parametrical indexes.  相似文献

植物钙包括游离态的Ca2+和结合态易溶、微溶和难溶于水的钙盐,而难溶于水的钙盐常会形成钙晶体.为了解盐渍化生境中不同生长型植物体内的钙状况,本文对天津市54种植物进行了钙晶体的镜检和钙组分的测定.结果表明: 在盐渍化生境中的54种植物体内,有38种植物体内镜检到较多的钙晶体,其中37种植物体内为以簇晶和方晶为主的草酸钙晶体,只在桑科的无花果叶片中观察到内含碳酸钙晶体的钟乳体.按生长型统计,落叶乔、灌木体内的草酸钙晶体较多,藤本植物体内的草酸钙晶体较少,而草本植物和常绿乔木体内未镜检到草酸钙晶体.同时,从乔木、灌木、藤本到草本,植物体内盐酸溶性钙含量逐渐减少而水溶性钙含量逐渐增多,且草本植物体内的水溶性钙含量显著高于乔木和灌木.在盐渍化生境中,植物体内的钙晶体和钙组分因生长型不同而有所差异,草酸钙在落叶乔、灌木抵御盐分胁迫中发挥着重要作用.  相似文献

本文在过去10 a野外调查和室内鉴定及分析研究的基础上,对大兴安岭林区多孔菌的区系组成和种群结构进行了分析,发现大兴安岭林区的多孔菌具有较高的多样性,共有5目11科56属129种,占中国多孔菌区系的21.36%,优势科是多孔菌科。种的区系地理成分分为7类,以北温带成分和世界广布成分为主,具有明显的北温带成分的区系特征。大兴安岭的多孔菌常见种较多,种群结构中共生菌3种,寄生菌27种,腐生菌占大多数,有99种。在能够引起木材腐朽的126种真菌中,白腐菌93种,占多数,褐腐菌33种,占少数,但该地区褐腐菌所占比例明显高于全国范围内褐腐菌在多孔菌中的比例。通过对大兴安岭主要树种上的种群结构进行比较,表明阔叶树上的木材腐朽菌绝大部分是白色腐朽菌,而针叶树上的白腐菌与褐腐菌数量相差不大,褐腐菌对于针叶林特别是落叶松的更新具有非常重要的作用。  相似文献

Aims:  Oxalobacter formigenes is an oxalate-degrading intestinal bacterium that has been found in humans, cattle, sheep, rats and dogs. Its presence in the intestinal tract may be a protective factor against calcium oxalate urolithiasis because of its ability to degrade oxalate. The objective of this study was to determine whether O. formigenes could be detected in the faeces of healthy cats.
Methods and Results:  A convenience sample of 28 cats was enrolled. Faecal samples were tested for oxc , a gene specific for O. formigenes , by real-time PCR. This gene was detected in 5/28 (18%) cats; however, the prevalence increased to 86% (24/28) with a modification of the methodology.
Conclusions:  Demonstrating the presence of O. formigenes in the faeces of healthy cats for the first time in this study.
Significance and Impact of the Study:  Future investigation of the role of this organism in the pathophysiology of calcium oxalate urolithiasis in cats is indicated.  相似文献

The occurrence and distribution of seven crystal types in 114 bark samples from 25 genera and 91 species, representing all four tribes of African genistoid legumes, are reported. The seven types are prismatic, druse (including irregular crystal clusters), navicular (including truncated navicular, here reported for the first time), spherical crystal cluster, styloid, crystal sand and acicular crystals in sheaf‐like aggregates. Unlike most studies, the elemental composition of the crystals was examined using X‐ray microanalyses. With the exception of acicular crystals, all crystals showed the typical peaks of calcium (sometimes accompanied by small amounts of magnesium). Acicular crystals in sheaf‐like aggregates were composed only of carbon and oxygen, indicating that they are organic and precipitate during drying or after fixation in alcohol. These crystals are found only in the two early‐diverging lineages of Podalyrieae (Cyclopia and Virgilia+Calpurnia clades), consistent with the phylogenetic pattern in the tribe (indicating a secondary loss). Navicular crystals are restricted to Podalyrieae and Crotalarieae. Prismatic crystals in bark are proposed to be the ancestral condition, with multiple losses (or reversals) in Podalyrieae, Crotalarieae and Genisteae. © 2015 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society, 2015, 178 , 620–632.  相似文献

作者于2007和2008年的5-10月间在辽宁省的丹东、凤城、清原、桓仁等药材产区采集土壤样品200余份,通过采用稀释平板法和土壤颗粒平板法进行土壤真菌的分离和培养,共分离和鉴定出27属54种真菌,其中接合菌2属3种、子囊菌1属1种、无性型真菌24属50种。分离到的部分真菌种类是重要的药用植物病原菌,如Cylindrocarpon destructans、Fusarium oxysporum和F.solani。研究发现,Penicillium paxilli、P.expansum、Trichoderma atroviride及T.viride的分离频率最高,是辽宁省4个调查地区药用植物根际土壤真菌的优势菌群。  相似文献

通过检测胃炎和胃溃疡、胃癌患者胃黏膜寄居的真菌,了解胃黏膜真菌的菌种多样性及其与胃溃疡的关系。采集消化科就诊患者胃镜钳取的胃黏膜标本63例,采用念珠菌显色培养基(CHROMagar)进行真菌分离培养鉴定。用玉米吐温80培养基进行真菌孢子形态学检查,用ITS(internal transcribed spacer region)序列限制性片段长度多态性(Restriction fragment length polymorphism,RFLP)检测分析真菌菌种多样性。分离培养真菌32(32/63,50.8%)株,经ITS序列RFLP法鉴定为白假丝酵母菌31株,光滑假丝酵母菌1株。真菌阳性率与病理诊断成正相关(r=0.263,P=0.027),与性别、年龄、吸烟、饮酒、学历的相关性均无统计学意义(P0.05)。结果表明,胃黏膜寄居的真菌存在多样性,且真菌阳性率与病理损害程度存在相关性。  相似文献

Light microscopic study of the giant‐celled, marine green alga Callipsygma wilsonis J. Agardh (Udoteaceae, Bryopsidales) revealed numerous birefringent crystalline inclusions in the terminal segments of the assimilatory axes. The inclusions were thin plates with a triangular shape in face view, a base up to 75 μm in length, and a height that was one‐seventh the length of the base. Crystals of various sizes commonly were stacked face‐to‐face with one or more edges coinciding, but removal of organic material by treatment in sodium hypochlorite resulted in disaggregation. The crystals were soluble in dilute hydrochloric acid without effervescence but were insoluble in acetic acid. These diagnostic chemical solubility tests and a positive reaction to the Yasue staining reaction indicated that the crystals were composed of calcium oxalate. Scanning electron microscopy showed that most crystals had smoothly curving edges, but some had truncate or beveled margins. Calcium oxalate crystals have been reported to occur in the large central vacuoles of several bryopsidalean species, but the crystals in C. wilsonis were present in the parietal cytoplasm, which was evident from the presence of crystals in streaming cytoplasm. Calcium oxalate crystals, amyloplasts, chloroplasts, and other cytoplasmic constituents moved along cytoskeletal cables at rates of approximately 2.8 μm s−1. These findings add to a growing body of evidence that calcium oxalate crystals in diverse algae may be present in cellular compartments other than the central vacuole.  相似文献

Mainly cyanobacteria, but also algae and fungi, were identified on the Jesuit missions San Ignacio Miní, Loreto, Santa María and Santa Ana, in NE Argentina. Many organisms were deeply pigmented, indicative of stressful conditions. San Ignacio samples of itacurú rock showed higher colonization and biodiversity, related to higher porosity allowing entry of water and nutrients. Sandstone from other locations was arenitous, containing 95% silicates. Physicochemical analyses suggested mobilization of ions, particularly Fe, from within the stone to the surface. This intense deteriorating colonization, together with climatic weathering, transforms the sandstone to a “protosoil,” for growth of bryophytes and higher plants.  相似文献

Fungal opportunistic infections are a danger for immunocompromised hosts, such as patients with malignancies, especially in a hospital environment. We studied a group of patients with solid tumors of the respiratory tract on admission and after twenty days of hospitalization. Colonization by moulds and/or yeasts was frequently found.Preventive measures should be applied to avoid colonization inside the hospital. The importance of overcrowding, sanitation and diet is pointed out.  相似文献
