A strictly aerobic, Gram-positive, motile, coccoid-shaped, halotolerant actinobacterium (10% NaCl, w/v), designated MSL-23T, was isolated from a soil sample on Bigeum Island, Korea. Results of 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis indicated that the isolate belonged to the genus Nocardioides, with the highest sequence similarity (95.63%) being to Nocardioides kribbensis KCTC 19038T. The major menaquinone was MK-8(H4), and the predominant cellular fatty acids were i-C16:0, ai-C17:0, C18:1 ω9c and 10-methyl-C16:0. The DNA G+C content was 69.7 mol%. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain MSL 23T and its chemotaxonomic properties showed it to be unique in the genus Nocardioides. Phenotypic characteristics distinguished strain MSL-23T from other Nocardioides species. On the basis of the phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic data strain MSL-23T represents a novel species, for which the name Nocardioides halotolerans sp. nov. is proposed, with MSL-23T (=KCTC 19274T=DSM 19273T) as the type strain.  相似文献

A halophilic, Gram-positive, spore-forming motile Bacillus-like strain YIM 012(T), was isolated from one of the hypersaline soil samples collected in Xin-jiang province, China. Its optimum growth occurred at 10-20% of NaCl concentration (w/v), pH 7.0-8.0. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain YIM 012(T) is a member of the genus of Alkalibacillus, which is well supported by its chemotaxonomic and molecular characteristics. Based on its phenotypic evidence and genotypic data, Alkalibacillus halophilus sp. nov. was proposed and strain YIM 012(T) (=DSM 17369(T)=KCTC 3990(T)) was assigned as the type strain of the novel species.  相似文献

An actinobacterial strain YIM 80766T was isolated from a soil sample collected from the eastern desert of Egypt, and its taxonomic position was investigated by a polyphasic approach. The organism was found to have a range of chemical and morphological properties consistent with its classification in the genus Dietzia. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the levels of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity between strain YIM 80766T and the other type strains of recognized members of the genus Dietzia were 97.0–98.9%. However, DNA–DNA hybridization values and phenotypic characteristics revealed that the strain differed from the currently recognized species of the genus Dietzia. Therefore, strain YIM 80766T represents a novel species of the genus Dietzia, for which the name Dietzia lutea sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is YIM 80766T (=KCTC 19232T=DSM 45074T=CCTCC AA 207008T). The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain YIM 80766T has been deposited in GenBank under the accession number EU821598.  相似文献

A novel actinomycete strain YIM 31724T was isolated from a soil sample collected from Dali, Yunnan Province, People’s Republic of China. The strain is characterized by white to yellow white aerial mycelia, spiral spore chains and smooth spore surface. The cell wall of strain YIM 31724T contained LL-diaminopimelic acid (A2pm) and traces of meso-A2pm. Whole-cell hydrolysates contained mainly glucose and small amounts of galactose and xylose. The menaquinones were MK-9(H6) (31%) and MK-9(H8) (69%). Phosphatidylethanolamine was the diagnostic phospholipid. The DNA G+C content of strain YIM 31724T was 67.2 mol%. Phylogenetic analysis indicated that the strain belongs to the genus Streptomyces, with highest similarity to Streptomyces rimosus subsp. rimosus JCM 4667T (rRNA gene sequence similarity value of 98.9%) and Streptomyces erumpens DSM 40941T (rRNA gene sequence similarity value of 98.7%). Based on its phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, including low DNA–DNA hybridization results, strain is proposed as the type strain of a novel species, Streptomyces daliensis sp. nov.  相似文献

Screening of faecal bacteria for glycyrrhetic acid (GA) production by hydrolysing of glycyrrhizin (GL) resulted in the isolation of two strains, designated ZM35T and ZM38. Strains ZM35T and ZM38 were Gram-positive, obligate anaerobic, non-spore-forming and rod-shaped bacteria. Analysis of the 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strains ZM35T and ZM38 belonged to cluster XIVa of the genus Clostridium. The 16S rRNA gene sequences of strains ZM35T and ZM38 were identical. Strain ZM35T exhibited approximately 94% to 95% identity with the validly described species, Clostridium oroticum(94.5%), Eubacterium contortum(93.8%), Ruminococcus gnavus(94.5%) and R. torques(95.1%). In an experiment of DNA-DNA hybridization, it was confirmed that strains ZM35T and ZM38 were the same species. The guanine-plus-cytosine (G+C) content of strain ZM35T is 45.7 mol%. Based on the phylogenetic and phenotypic findings, we propose that strains ZM35T and ZM38 be assigned to a novel species named Clostridium glycyrrhizinilyticum. The type strain is ZM35T (=JCM 13368T=DSM 17593T).  相似文献

Following the application of several molecular techniques strain R 19c, isolated from sausage by Reuter in 1970 and deposited at the DSMZ as Lactobacillus sp., has been identified as pertaining to a new species. It showed singular ISR-DdeI and ISR-HaeIII profiles that allowed its differentiation from 68 lactic acid bacteria reference strains analyzed. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences places this strain in the genus Lactobacillus within the Lactobacillus alimentarius group. Species L. versmoldensis is the closest phylogenetic neighbor with 96.3% sequence similarity. DNA-DNA hybridization experiments confirmed the independent status at species level of this strain. Species-specific primers for PCR detection of this new species have been developed. Phenotypically it can be distinguished from the closest relative L. versmoldensis by several traits such as the peptidoglycan type (L-Lys-Gly-D-Asp), acid production from L-rhamnose, D-mannitol and L-fucose and its inability to ferment d-galactose, d-melibiose and d-sucrose. The name Lactobacillus tucceti sp. nov. is proposed with strain R 19c(T) (=DSM 20183(T)= CECT 5920(T)) as the type strain.  相似文献

An endospore-forming bacterium, designated strain B-16T, was isolated from a forest soil sample in Yunnan, China. The isolate presented remarkable nematotoxic activity against nematode Panagrellus redivivus. The organism was strictly aerobic, motile, spore forming and rod shaped, catalase- and oxidase-positive. The predominant isoprenoid quinone was menaquinone 7 (MK-7). The major cellular fatty acid profiles were anteiso-C15:0 (48.67%), iso-C15:0 (13.45%), C16:0 (9.06%) and anteiso-Cl7:0 (8.29%). The DNA G+C content was 46%. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rDNA sequence revealed that isolate belongs to the genus Bacillus. Strain B-16T exhibited high 16S rDNA similarity with its closest neighbors Bacillus vallismortis (99.79%), B. subtilis (99.43%), B. atrophaeus (99.43%), B. amyloliquefaciens (99.36%), B. licheniformis (98.0%) and less than 97.0% with all the other relative type strains in the genus Bacillus. The phenotypic and genotypic characteristics and DNA-DNA relatedness data indicate that strain B-16T should be distinguished from all the relative species of genus Bacillus. Therefore, on the basis of the polyphasic taxonomic data presented, a new species of the genus Bacillus, B. nematocida, with the type strain B-16T ( = CGMCC 1128T) is proposed. The GenBank accession number for the sequence reported in this paper is AY820954.  相似文献

A strain of an unidentified strictly anoxic, gram-postive, non-motile Ruminococcus-like bacterium was isolated from a human faecal sample. The organism used carbohydrates as fermentable substrates, produced acetate, succinate, and hydrogen as the major products of glucose metabolism, and possessed a G + C content of 43.3 mol%. The morphological and biochemical characteristics of the organism were consistent with its assignment to the genus Ruminococcus but it did not correspond to any recognized species of this genus. Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequencing showed the unidentified bacterium represents a previously unrecognised sub-line within the Clostridium coccoides rRNA group of organisms. The nearest relative of the unknown bacterium corresponded to Ruminococcus obeum but a 16S rRNA sequence divergence value of >3% demonstrated it represents a different species. Based on the presented findings a new species, Ruminococcus luti, is described. The type strain of Ruminococcus luti is BInIX(T) (DSM 14534T, CCUG 45635T).  相似文献

A bright yellow pigmented bacterium was isolated from the leaf surface of Trifolium repens in Germany. Comparative analysis of 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that this bacterium is most closely related to Duganella zoogloeoides IAM 12670(T), with a similarity of 99.3%, but revealed only a moderate similarity (96.8%) to the second Duganella species, Duganella violaceinigra YIM 31327(T). Strain T54(T) is clearly different from D. zoogloeoides IAM 12670(T) in that DNA-DNA hybridization revealed a similarity value of 46% (reciprocal 42%). Ubiquinone (Q-8) was the respiratory quinone and the predominant polar lipids consisted of phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, three unknown phospholipids and one aminolipid. Strain T54(T) can be distinguished from D. zoogloeoides by the carbon substrate utilization tests of d-trehalose, cis-aconitate, trans-aconitate, glutarate and dl-3-hydroxybutyrate, and 4-hydroxybenzoate in addition to a different polar lipid profile. The name Duganella phyllosphaerae sp. nov. is proposed for this novel species, with the type strain T54(T) (=LMG 25994 = CCM 7824(T)) [corrected]. In addition, it is proposed to reclassify D. violaceinigra into a novel genus Pseudoduganella gen. nov. as the novel species Pseudoduganella violaceinigra comb. nov. because of the low 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities to the other Duganella species (<97%) and striking differences in chemotaxonomic (lipid profiles and fatty acid patterns) and other phenotypic features, including the colony pigmentation.  相似文献

A novel actinomycete strain, designated YIM 45720T, was isolated from a Cephalotaxus fortunei rhizophere soil sample collected from Yunnan Province, southwest China. The strain formed well-differentiated aerial and substrate mycelia. Chemotaxonomically, it contained LL-diaminopimelic acid in the cell wall. The cell-wall sugars contained ribose, mannose, and galactose with traces of glucose and xylose. Phospholipids were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylinositol. MK-9 (H8) was the predominant menaquinone. The major fatty acids (>10%) were iso-C16:0, iso-C15:1 and anteiso-C15:0. The G + C content of the DNA was 70 mol%. Phylogenetic analysis data based on 16S rRNA gene sequence showed that strain YIM 45720T formed a distinct branch with the type strain of Streptomyces scabrisporus JCM 11712T within the genus Streptomyces. On the basis of the phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, strain YIM 45720T (=DSM 41883T = CCTCC AA 206006T) is proposed as the type strain of a novel species, Streptomyces serianimatus sp. nov.  相似文献

An actinomycete strain, designated YIM 60475T, was isolated from the roots of Maytenus austroyunnanensis and was characterized by using a polyphasic approach. The strain was determined to belong to the genus Streptomyces, based on its phenotypic and phylogenetic characteristics. The strain produced spiral spore chains on aerial mycelium. The cell wall contained ll-diaminopimelic acid. Whole-cell hydrolysates contained galactose, glucose, and xylose. The phospholipid was type II. The DNA G+C content of the type strain was 73.3 mol%. DNA–DNA hybridization and comparison of physiological and chemical characteristics suggested that strain YIM 60475T is a new Streptomyces species, for which the name Streptomyces mayteni sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is YIM 60475T (=CCTCC AA 207005T = KCTC 19383T). Hua-Hong Chen and Sheng Qin contributed equally to this work.  相似文献

A novel actinobacterium designated as MSL-26T was isolated from soil in Bigeum Island Korea. A polyphasic study was undertaken to establish the taxonomic position of isolate MSL-26T. Strain MSL-26T was found to have chemical and morphological characteristics similar to Nocardioides. The strain grew optimally at pH 7·5 and 28°C. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain MSL-26T forms a distinct line of descent within the radiation enclosed by the genus Nocardioides. The cell wall of strain MSL-26T contained LL-2, 6-diaminopimelic acid. The principal menaquinone was MK-8 (H4). The phospholipids detected were diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol and some unidentified lipids. C18:1 w7c (50.38%) was the major fatty acid. The DNA G + C content of strain MSL-26T was 71.4 mol%. The 16S rRNA gene sequence of strain MSL-26T shares the highest sequence similarity with Nocardioides kribbensis KCTC 19038T (95.78%) and Nocardioides aquaticus DSM 11439T (95.52%). Based on the morphological, physiological, biochemical and chemotaxonomical data presented in this study, strain MSL-26T should be classified as a novel species, for which the name Nocardioides islandiensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is MSL-26T (=KCTC 19275T =DSM 19321T)  相似文献

Phenotypic and phylogenetic studies were performed on four unidentified Gram-positive staining, catalase-negative, alpha-hemolytic Streptococcus-like organisms recovered from the teeth of horses. SDS PAGE analysis of whole-cell proteins and comparative 16S rRNA gene sequencing demonstrated the four strains were highly related to each other but that they did not correspond to any recognised species of the genus Streptococcus. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed the unidentified organisms form a hitherto unknown sub-line within the Streptococcus genus, displaying a close affinity with Streptococcus mutans, Streptococcus ferus and related organisms. Sequence divergence values of > 5% with these and other reference streptococcal species however demonstrated the organisms from equine sources represent a novel species. Based on the phenotypic distinctiveness of the new bacterium and molecular chemical and molecular genetic evidence, it is proposed that the unknown species be classified as Streptococcus devriesei sp. nov. The type strain of Streptococcus devriesei is CCUG 47155T (= CIP 107809T).  相似文献

A Gram-positive, aerobic, non-motile, non-acid-alcohol-fast strain, designated YIM 61095(T), was isolated from the root of Maytenus austroyunnanensis collected from a tropical rainforest of Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province, south-west China. Strain YIM 61095(T) exhibited chemotaxonomic and morphological characteristics that were consistent with members of the genus Saccharopolyspora. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain YIM 61095(T) was a member of the genus Saccharopolyspora and was most closely related to Saccharopolyspora flava AS 4.1520(T) (97.7% sequence similarity). The major fatty acids were iso-C(15:0), iso-C(16:0), iso-C(17:0) and anteiso-C(17:0). The predominant quinone detected was MK-9(H(4)). The DNA G+C content was 66.2 mol%. The phenotypic characteristics and DNA-DNA hybridization relatedness data indicated that strain YIM 61095(T) should be distinguished from Saccharopolyspora flava AS 4.1520(T). On the basis of the evidence presented in this study, strain YIM 61095(T) represents a novel species of the genus Saccharopolyspora, for which the name Saccharopolyspora endophytica sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is YIM 61095(T) (=KCTC 19397(T)=CCTCC AA 208003(T)).  相似文献

The taxonomic positions of two actinomycetes, strains Bc663 and 10bc312T, provisionally assigned to the genus Rhodococcus were determined using a combination of genotypic and phenotypic properties. The organisms have phenotypic properties typical of members of the genus Rhodococcus and were assigned to the 16S rRNA subgroup which contains Rhodococcus rhodochrous and closely related species. The two strains, which have many phenotypic features in common, belong to the same genomic species albeit one readily separated from Rhodococcus ruber with which they form a distinct phyletic line. The organisms were also distinguished from all of the species classified in the R. rhodochrous subgroup, including R. ruber, using a combination of phenotypic properties. The genotypic and phenotypic data show that strains Bc663 and 10bc312T merit recognition as a new species of Rhodococcus. The name proposed for the new species is Rhodococcus aetherivorans (10bc312T = DSM 44752T = NCIMB 13964T).  相似文献

A bacterial strain (CCUG 36956T) isolated from drinking water was taxonomically studied in detail. Phylogenetic analyses using the 16S rRNA gene sequence of the isolate indicated that it belongs to family Oxalobacteraceae of the beta-subclass of the Proteobacteria, with the highest sequence similarity of 99.3% to the type strain of Herminiimonas fonticola. In the polyamine pattern putrescine and 2-hydroxyputrescine were the predominant compounds. In the polar lipid profile major compounds were phosphatidyl ethanolamine and diphosphatidyl glycerol. Phosphatidyl glycerol and an unknown phospholipid were detected in moderate proportions. The major respiratory quinone was a ubiquinone Q-8 and the major whole cell fatty acids were 16:1 omega7c, 17:1 omega6c, and 16:0. The strain also contained 10:0 3-OH and other fatty acids typical for members of the genus Herminiimonas. The results of DNA-DNA hybridizations and physiological and biochemical tests allowed genotypic and phenotypic differentiation of strain CCUG 36956T from H. fonticola. For this reason, we propose that strain CCUG 36956T represents a new species of the genus Herminiimonas for which we propose the name Herminiimonas aquatilis sp. nov.  相似文献

The taxonomic position of an actinomycete isolated from an ultramafic soil in New Caledonia was examined using a polyphasic approach. The organism, which was designated SFOCin 76, was found to have chemical and morphological properties typical of streptomycetes and formed a distinct phyletic line in the Streptomyces violaceusniger clade of the 16S rDNA tree. It also showed a unique pattern of phenotypic properties that distinguished it from representatives of all of the validly described species classified in this clade. It is, therefore, proposed that strain SFOCin 76 be classified in the genus Streptomyces as Streptomyces yatensis sp. nov. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献
