Gut microbiota was analyzed in children, aged 6-18 months and suffering from atopic dermatitis before and after 3 month supplementation of their diet with Lactobacillus casei DN--114001 in a dose of 109 cells daily. On completion of this period the total number of fecal Lactobacillus sp. cells decreased from 7.86 Log10 CFU/g to 6.40 Log10 CFU/g. After the next 5 months (without dietary supplementation with the probiotic bacteria) the level of Lactobacillus sp. cells was maintained at the latter value. During the dietary supplementation with the probiotic strain, the level of Bifidobacterium cells was maintained at 6.15-6.89 Log10 CFU/g while after 5 months it decreased to 5.57 Log10 CFU/g. The population of Clostridium sp. was reduced after 3 months of dietary supplementation from 6.49 to 5.83 Log10 CFU/g and was maintained at the latter level during the next 5 months. The dietary supplementation had no effect on populations of Bacteroides sp., Enterococcus sp. and Enterobacteriaceae. Supplementation of children who developed atopic dermatitis with the preparation of Lactobacillus casei DN - 114001 positively affected their gut microbiota in terms of bifidobacteria and clostridia populations.  相似文献

Temperature modulates the metabolism in both fish and bacteria and therefore the effect of probiotic bacteria on its host may vary accordingly. The current study aim was to evaluate the effect of probiotic supplementation (Bacillus sp., Lactobacillus sp., Enterococcus sp., Pediococcus sp.) in juvenile seabass, Dicentrarchus labrax, when reared under different temperatures (17, 20 and 23°C). A control diet was tested against a probiotic‐supplemented diet, with a concentration of 3 × 109 CFU probiotic/kg diet. Antioxidant responses (TG, GSH, GSSG, GR, CAT and GSTs) and lipid peroxidation (LPO) were evaluated after 70 days of dietary probiotic supplementation. An effect of temperature was observed on LPO, which increased significantly in fish reared at 17°C (p < .05) compared to the 20 and 23°C groups. Total glutathione (TG) was significantly higher in the probiotic treatments in fish reared at 17 and 20°C (p < .05). In addition, a probiotic temperature interaction was observed for TG, reduced glutathione (GSH) levels, and for reduction of the oxidized glutathione ratio (GSH/GSSG; p < .05). In conclusion, the current study showed a strong temperature effect on oxidative stress responses, with an anti‐oxidant role of dietary probiotic supplementation at different rearing temperatures.  相似文献

The present study investigated the effects of sodium butyrate (SB) on the growth performance, histomorphology, immune response, and stress related markers of Nile tilapia subjected to heat stress. SB was incorporated at 0, 0.5, 1, 1.5, and 2 g per kg diet and fed to fish for 8 weeks. The obtained results revealed significantly improved growth performance with a decreased feed conversion ratio in the fish fed SB (P < 0.05). In the anterior, middle, and distal parts of the intestine, villus length and width and internal villi distance as well as the number of goblet cells were increased in the fish fed SB (P < 0.05). The blood total protein, hemoglobin, and white and red blood cell counts showed a significant quadratic influence (P < 0.05). The survival rate for Nile tilapia exposed to heat stress for 48 h revealed that the SB fed groups had noticeably higher survival rates. Dietary SB significantly increased the phagocytic index and lysozyme and phagocytic activities both before and after heat stress (P < 0.05). After heat stress, blood glucose decreased significantly with SB feeding at 0.5, 1, or 1.5 g per kg diet, while cortisol was reduced in fish fed 1.5 or 2 g per kg diet (P < 0.05). Additionally, in fish fed SB, superoxide dismutase (SOD), catalase, and glutathione peroxidase activities were significantly increased both before and after heat stress, while malondialdehyde was decreased by SB feeding (P < 0.05). Liver heat shock protein 70 and SOD gene expression were significantly upregulated in fish fed on SB at 1 g per kg diet (P < 0.05). Thus, supplementation with SB at 1–2 g per kg diet can be used effectively in tilapia diets for improving growth, feed efficiency, and immune response as well as for tolerance to heat stress.  相似文献

In the present study, grape pomace (GP) was used as feed additive in the diet of weaned piglets in order to develop innovative feedstuffs and to investigate their potential beneficial effects on welfare, productivity and meat quality. For examining the antioxidant capacity of the experimental feeds, 24 piglets of 20 days old were assigned to two experimental groups receiving standard or experimental diet for 30 days. Blood and tissues collections were performed at four different time-points, 2, 20, 35 and 50 days post birth. The collected tissues were brain, heart, kidney, liver, lung, quadriceps muscle, pancreas, spleen and stomach. The following oxidative stress markers were assessed: reduced glutathione (GSH), catalase activity, total antioxidant capacity (TAC), thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), protein carbonyls (CARB) and H2O2 decomposition activity. The effect on bacterial growth was assessed by examining microbial populations in piglets’ fecal microbiota. Furthermore, the average daily gain (ADG) was calculated and the fatty acid profile of quadriceps muscle was assessed. The results showed that piglets fed with the diet supplemented with GP, had significantly increased antioxidants mechanisms in almost all the tissues as shown by increases in GSH, H2O2 decomposition activity and TAC compared with control group. Piglets fed with the experimental diet exhibited decreased oxidative stress-induced damage to lipids and proteins as shown by decreases in TBARS and CARB in GP group compared with control. In addition, the experimental diet increased significantly ADG (by 23.65%) (P<0.05) and enhanced the growth of facultative probiotic bacteria (by up to 1.2 log colony forming units (CFU)/g) (P<0.05) and lactic acid bacteria (by up to 2.0 log CFU/g) (P<0.05) in GP group compared with the control group. GP supplementation inhibited the growth of pathogen populations such as Enterobacteriacae (by up to 1.8 log CFU/g) (P<0.05) and Campylobacter jejuni (by up to 1.0 log CFU/g) (P<0.05). Regarding fatty acid composition of meat, GP inclusion in piglets’ diet increased significantly n-3 fatty acids (EPA; C20 : 5n-3, DHA; C22 : 6n-3, α-linolenic acid; C18 : 3n-3) and decreased significantly n-6/n-3 ratio compared with control (P<0.05). The results suggested that dietary GP supplementation may have a beneficial impact on piglets’ welfare and may improve productivity as well as meat quality.  相似文献

The effect of Lactococcus lactis subsp. lactis strain PTCC 1403 as a potential probiotic was investigated on the growth, hematobiochemical, immune responses, and resistance to Yersinia ruckeri infection in rainbow trout. A total of 240 fish were distributed into 12 fiberglass tanks representing four groups (× 3 replicates). Each tank was stocked with 20 fish (average initial weight: 11.81 ± 0.32 g) and fed L. lactis subsp. lactis PTCC 1403 at 0 (control, T0), 1 × 109 (T1), 2 × 109 (T2), and 3 × 109 (T3) CFU/g feed for 8 weeks. The results showed enhanced protein efficiency ratio and reduced feed conversion ratio in the fish-fed T2 diet. Further, fish-fed T2 and T3 diets showed a significantly higher survival rate than the control (p < 0.05). Trypsin, lipase, and protease activities were increased in fish-fed L. lactis subsp. lactis PTCC 1403 compared to the control (p < 0.05). Fish fed with a T2 diet showed significantly (p < 0.05) lower glucose content than other groups. The blood lysozyme activity and IgM showed significantly (p < 0.05) higher values in fish-fed T2 and T3 diets than in other groups. The antioxidative responses were increased in fish-fed T2 and T3 diets (p < 0.05). After 7 days post-Y. ruckeri challenge, the cumulative mortality rate showed the lowest value in fish fed with T1 and T2 diets, while the highest value was recorded in the control group. In conclusion, the results revealed beneficial effects of L. lactis subsp. lactis PTCC 1403 on the feed efficiency, immune response, and resistance to Y. ruckeri infection in rainbow trout.

An 8-week feeding trial was conducted to determine the dietary copper (Cu) on growth performance and immune responses of juvenile Chinese mitten crab Eriocheir sinensis. Six semi-purified diets with six copper levels (1.88, 11.85, 20.78, 40.34, 79.56 and 381.2 mg kg?1 diet) of CuSO4·5H2O were fed to E. sinensis (0.45 ± 0.01 g). Each diet was fed to the crab in five replicates. The crab fed diets with 20.78 and 40.34 mg Cu kg?1 diet had significantly greater weight gain and hemolymph oxyhemocyanin content than those fed diets with 1.88 and 381.2 mg Cu kg?1 diet. Survival rates of crab were not significantly different between all treatment groups. The activities of copper–zinc superoxide dismutase (Cu–Zn SOD), phenoloxidase (PO), and total hemocyte count (THC) significantly increased when the supplementation of dietary copper reached 20.78–40.34 mg Cu kg?1 diets. In the bacteria challenge experiment with Aeromonas hydrophila, survival rates significantly increased and reached a plateau when the dietary copper increased from 1.88 to 40.34 mg kg?1, whereas significantly decreased when the dietary copper increased from 40.34 to 381.2 mg kg?1. This study indicates that the level of dietary copper is important in regulating growth and immune response in crab.  相似文献

A feeding experiment was conducted to determine influences of potential probiotic Bacillus subtilis T13 (isolated from intestine of healthy sea cucumbers) on growth, immunity and disease resistance against Vibrio splendidus infection in juvenile sea cucumbers Apostichopus japonicus. Animals were fed with diets containing B. subtilis T13 at 0, 10(5), 10(7) and 10(9) CFU/g for 30 days, respectively. At the end of the growth trial, fifteen sea cucumbers from each aquarium were sampled for immune indices measurement. Then twenty sea cucumbers from each replicate were challenged with V. splendidus. Results showed that administration of B. subtilis T13 had significant effect on the specific growth rates (SGR) of sea cucumbers (P < 0.05). Phagocytosis, respiratory burst activity and total nitric oxide synthase (T-NOS) activity were significantly improved in coelomocytes of sea cucumbers fed with T13 at 10(9) CFU/g diet (P < 0.05). The highest values of the total coelomocytes counts (TCC) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were found in sea cucumbers fed diet containing T13 at 10(9) CFU/g. The cumulative mortality after V. splendidus challenge decreased significantly in sea cucumbers fed with T13 at dose of 10(9) CFU/g (P < 0.05). The present study confirmed the potential beneficial effects of B. subtilis T13 as dietary probiotic in juvenile A. japonicus.  相似文献

Effects of commercial probiotic (Bactocell®) on growth performance and blood parameters were evaluated. A total of 800 one day-old Ross broiler chicks were raised over 42 days. Chicks were wing-banded, weighed individually and randomly allocated into four equally major groups each having two replicates. Chicks of group 1 (control group) were fed the starter and finisher diets that did not supplemented with probiotic. The chicks of groups 2, 3, and 4 were fed the control starter and finisher diets supplemented with 1.6 g, 1 g and 0.8 g of probiotic per kg feed, respectively. Weekly body weight, feed consumption and feed conversion were measured. Blood parameters at 1, 4 and 6 weeks of age including packed cell volume (PCV), haemoglobin (Hb), total protein, albumin, total lipid and cholesterol were determined. All birds were kept under similar environmental, managerial and hygienic conditions. The results of the current study revealed that there was no significant change for Hb and PCV concentrations among different groups at all studied times. Also, total protein, lipids and albumin concentrations were not affected by probiotic supplementation. Chicken fed a diet containing various levels of probiotic showed a significant decrease (p ⩽ 0.05) in cholesterol concentration compared to control group. Probiotic supplementation significantly increased the body weight and daily weight gain of broiler chicks at late ages (3–6 weeks). Also, the birds fed on probiotic levels 1 and 0.8 g/kg diet exhibited higher body weight among chicken groups at 6 weeks of age. Improved feed conversion was noticed in birds fed a diet supplemented with probiotic. There was no significant difference in mortality rate among groups. We concluded that use of selected commercial probiotic resulted in improved performance parameters and reduced serum cholesterol in broiler chickens. Moreover, supplementation of the probiotic to broilers in the levels of 1 and 0.8 g/kg diet was found to be better than control and 1.6 g/kg level indicating that increasing dietary probiotic level does not has the best performance.  相似文献

Effects of Hilyses®, fermented Saccharomyces cerevisiae (S. cerevisiae), on growth, body composition and skin mucus immune components in rainbow trout were quantified. Ninety rainbow trout (105 ± 5 g) were randomly assigned to 2 groups in triplicates and fed dietary Hilyses® (5 g kg?1) or control diet without Hilyses® for 50 days. Results of this study demonstrated that growth performance increased significantly by the dietary yeast supplement; however body composition was not affected in treatment group. At the 45th and 50th day of feeding trial, results of mucus samples demonstrated that yeast supplementation in treatment group significantly promoted enzyme activities, namely lysozyme, protease, alkaline phosphatase and esterase compared to control group. Significant increases were also observed in hemagglutination and antibacterial activity against Yersinia ruckeri in fish fed treatment diet. The present study suggests that fermented S. cerevisiae may effectively promote the growth performance and skin non-specific immune parameters in rainbow trout.  相似文献

The use of antibiotics as supplements in animal feed is restricted due to possible health hazards associated with them. Consequently, there is increasing interest in exploiting natural products to improve health and production of livestock with no detrimental side effects. In this study, we examined the effect of Astragalus membranaceus root (AMT) supplementation on DM intake, growth performance, rumen fermentation and immunity of Tibetan sheep. Twenty-four male Tibetan sheep (31 ± 1.4 kg; 9 months old) were assigned randomly to one of four dietary treatments with different levels of AMT: 0, 20, 50 and 80 g/kg DM (A0, A2, A5 and A8, respectively) in addition to their basal diets. A0 acted as a control group, and measurements were recorded over a 56-d feeding period. Sheep fed with AMT had a higher average daily gain and a lower feed:gain ratio than controls (P < 0.001). Rumen concentrations of NH3-N (P < 0.001), total volatile fatty acids (P = 0.028), acetate (P = 0.017) and propionate (P = 0.031) in A5 and A8 were higher than those in A0. The addition of AMT in the feed significantly increased serum antioxidant and immunity factors of the sheep and increased the concentrations of serum interleukin, immunoglobulin and tumour necrosis factor-α (P = 0.010). We concluded that AMT can be used as a feed additive to improve growth performance and rumen fermentation and enhance the immunity of Tibetan sheep. Some responses exhibited a dose-dependent response, whereas other did not exhibit a pattern, with an increase in AMT. The addition of 50 and 80 g/kg AMT of total DM intake showed the most promising results.  相似文献

This study investigates the effects of dietary Aeromonas veronii V03 supplementation on growth performances, innate immunity, and expression of immune-related genes in lymphoid organs of Cyprinus carpio and resistance to Aeromonas hydrophila infection. Fish were fed for 4 weeks with basal diet (BD; without probiotic), and experiment diet containing different doses of A. veronii V03 at 3.2 × 107 (DI) and 3.5 × 109 (DII) CFU g−1 of diet. At the end of the probiotic feeding trial, fish were challenged with A. hydrophila, and the percentage of survival rates was recorded over 7 days. Results revealed that fish fed with A. veronii V03 demonstrated a significant improvement in growth and enhancement of innate immunity, including respiratory burst, myeloperoxidase, and lysozyme activities, and total immunoglobulin level compared with BD fed to fish. Relatively, expression of cytokines (MyD88, IL-1β1, IL-8, and IL-10) and c- and g-type lysozymes were significantly up- and downregulated in lymphoid organs of fish. Moreover, dietary supplementation of A. veronii V03 exhibited significantly (p < 0.001) higher survival rates of DI (90%) and DII (96.66%) compared with BD (53.33%) fed fish against A. hydrophila infection. These findings help to understand the effects of probiotic A. veronii V03 administrated feed influences on growth and ailment resistance to A. hydrophila infection by regulating innate and systemic immunity in common carp fish.

Lactobacillus reuteri ATCC 55730 is a probiotic (health-promoting) bacterium widely used as a dietary supplement. This study was designed to examine local colonization of the human gastrointestinal mucosa after dietary supplementation with L. reuteri ATCC 55730 and to determine subsequent immune responses at the colonized sites. In this open clinical investigation, 10 healthy volunteers and 9 volunteers with ileostomy underwent gastroscopy or ileoscopy and biopsy samples were taken from the stomach, duodenum, or ileum before and after supplementation with 4 × 108 CFU of live L. reuteri ATCC 55730 lactobacilli per day for 28 days. Biopsy specimen colonization was analyzed using fluorescence in situ hybridization with a molecular beacon probe, and immune cell populations were determined by immunostaining. Endogenous L. reuteri was detected in the stomach of 1 subject and the duodenum of 3 subjects (out of 10 subjects). After L. reuteri ATCC 55730 supplementation, the stomachs of 8 and the duodenums of all 10 subjects were colonized. Three ileostomy subjects (of six tested) had endogenous L. reuteri at baseline, while all six displayed colonization after L. reuteri supplementation. Gastric mucosal histiocyte numbers were reduced and duodenal B-lymphocyte numbers were increased by L. reuteri ATCC 55730 administration. Furthermore, L. reuteri administration induced a significantly higher amount of CD4-positive T-lymphocytes in the ileal epithelium. Dietary supplementation with the probiotic L. reuteri ATCC 55730 induces significant colonization of the stomach, duodenum, and ileum of healthy humans, and this is associated with significant alterations of the immune response in the gastrointestinal mucosa. These responses may be key components of a mechanism by which L. reuteri ATCC 55730 exerts its well-documented probiotic effects in humans.  相似文献

The present study was conducted to investigate the effects of dietary chitooligosaccharides (COS) supplementation on the innate immune response and protection against Vibrio harveyi infection in Trachinotus ovatus. A basal diet was supplemented with 0.0 (control), 2.0, 4.0 and 6.0 g COS kg?1 to formulate four experimental diets. Each diet was randomly allocated to triplicate groups of ?sh in ?oating sea cages (1.5 × 1.0 × 2.0 m), and each cage was stocked with 80 ?sh (initial average weight 10.8 ± 0.05 g). After 8 weeks of feeding trial, Both the final weight and specific growth rate (SGR) signi?cantly increased with increasing dietary COS levels up to 4.0 g kg?1, whereas there were no signi?cant differences for COS levels from 4.0 to 6.0 g kg?1. A decreased feed conversion ratio (FCR) was observed with increasing dietary COS levels. The total leukocyte counts (WBC), differential leukocyte counts, respiratory burst activity, lysozyme and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were signi?cantly increased with the increased levels of dietary COS (P < 0.05), and reached a maximum at level of 4.0 g kg?1 COS. There were no signi?cant differences in those immunological parameters between 4.0 and 6.0 g kg?1 COS. Moreover, the dietary COS supplementation groups also exhibited a decrease in the cumulative symptom rates compared to the controls when challenged with V. harveyi. These results indicated that dietary intake containing COS could enhance the immune responses of fish and improve its resistance to infection by V. harveyi. Especially supplementation with 4.0 g kg?1 COS to the fish for 56 days showed considerable improvement in the growth, survival and immune response of the fish.  相似文献

The immunostimulatory effect of probiotics and vitamin C has been established in many systems including fish. An investigation was carried out to study the effect of dietary supplementation of a probiotic bacterium "Bacillus subtilis", vitamin C in the form of ascorbyl polyphosphate and their combination on the immune response of Indian major carp, rohu, (Labeo rohita Ham.) fingerlings fed for a period of 60 days. The total serum protein and globulin content was significantly higher (p<0.05) in probiotic (B. subtilis @ 10(8) CFU/g of the feed) fed group while the respiratory burst activity of blood neutrophils was significantly high in vitamin C (ascorbyl polyphosphate @100 mg per kg diet) fed group. The antibody level was significantly high in Bacillus subtilis treated group followed by the probiotic (B. subtilis @ 10(8) CFU/g of the feed) and ascorbyl polyphosphate (ascorbyl polyphosphate @100 mg per kg diet) combined group. The least percentage of mortality was recorded in B. subtilis treated group (25%) followed by 35 and 40% in ascorbyl polyphosphate treated and B. subtilis and ascorbyl polyphosphate combined groups, respectively.  相似文献

The influence of herbicides causes health and economic loss, which requires innovative solutions to sustain the aquaculture industry. In this regard, dietary isatis is included in Nile tilapia diets to relieve atrazine (ATZ)-induced growth retardation, hepato-renal dysfunction, and oxidative stress. The first and second groups offered the control diet (control), while the third and fourth groups offered the isatis supplemented diet (1%). Meantime, half of the water was replaced and mixed with ATZ (1.39 mg/L) in the second and fourth groups for 30 days. The group of fish delivered isatis had significantly enhanced FBW, WG, and SGR, while fish intoxicated with ATZ had meaningfully impaired growth behavior (p < 0.05). Further, the FCR was improved by isatis, and ATZ resulted in the worst FCR among the groups. Interestingly fish fed isatis and exposed with ATZ (88.89%) had a higher survival rate than fish exposed with ATZ without isatis feeding, and both are lower than the control (97.78%) (p < 0.05). The histological structure in the isatis-treated groups showed distinguished enhancement and branching of the intestinal villi. The intestine of ATZ–treated fish revealed damage and inflammatory cell infiltration in the intestinal mucosa with separation of lining epithelium. Generally, fish fed isatis and intoxicated with ATZ had lower uric acid, urea, creatinine, ALT, and AST and higher total protein, globulin, and albumin than fish exposed with ATZ without feeding with isatis (p < 0.05). Markedly, fish-fed isatis had the highest SOD, CAT, GPx, and the lowest MDA level compared to the other groups (p < 0.05). Meanwhile, fish exposed with ATZ had the worst SOD, CAT, GPx, and the highest MDA level compared to the other groups (p < 0.05). In summary, dietary isatis relieved ATZ induced growth retardation, hepato-renal dysfunction, and oxidative stress in Nile tilapia.  相似文献

There is a current trend to support pet health through the addition of natural supplements to their diet, taking into account the high incidence of medical conditions related to their immune system and gastrointestinal tract. This study investigates effects of the plant Eleutherococcus senticosus as a dietary additive on faecal microbiota, faecal characteristics, blood serum biochemistry and selected parameters of cellular immunity in healthy dogs. A combination of the plant with the canine-derived probiotic strain Lactobacillus fermentum CCM 7421 was also evaluated. Thirty-two dogs were devided into 4 treatment groups; receiving no additive (control), dry root extract of E. senticosus (8 mg/kg of body weight), probiotic strain (108 CFU/mL, 0.1 mL/kg bw) and the combination of both additives. The trial lasted 49 days with 14 days supplementation period. Results confirm no antimicrobial effect of the plant on the probiotic abundance either in vitro (cultivation test) or in vivo. The numbers of clostridia, lactic acid bacteria and Gram-negative bacteria as well as the concentration of serum total protein, triglyceride, glucose and aspartate aminotransferase were significantly altered according to the treatment group. Leukocyte phagocytosis was significantly stimulated by the addition of probiotic while application of plant alone led to a significant decrease.  相似文献

The present study was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary nucleotides (NT) on growth performance, immune responses, and intestinal morphology of striped catfish, Pangasianodon hypophthalmus. Different levels of NT (0, 0.25. 0.5, 0.75, and 1% weight per weight, WW?1) were used in the basal diet and then randomly allocated to triplicate groups of fish with an average initial weight of 1.52 ± 0.11 g for 10 weeks. Nucleotide supplementation did not improve growth parameters significantly (P > 0.05). Feeding fish with a NT‐containing diet significantly improved ACH50 activity and IgM levels in comparison to the control group (P < 0.05). The dietary NT (P < 0.05) affected the intestinal morphology, whereby the folds and enterocyte heights in the mid‐intestine were significantly increased compared to the control group (P < 0.05), while the microvilli length was not affected. The results indicate that feeding striped catfish with commercial NT have significant effects on the immune parameters and intestinal morphology of catfish and that the best NT levels are 0.25 and 0.5%.  相似文献

A feeding trial was conducted to evaluate the effects of dietary vitamin E contents on the growth, ascorbate induced iron-catalyzed lipid peroxidation in post-mortem muscle and liver tissue, and Raman spectral changes in lens of juvenile hybrid tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus x O. aureus). Experimental fish were fed practical diets supplemented with 0, 50, 100, 200, 450 and 700 mg alpha-tocopheryl acetate/kg diet for 14 weeks. There was no significant difference in weight gain, feed conversion ratio and protein efficiency ratio among fish fed test diets (P>0.05). Protein content of fish fed diet containing the lowest vitamin E level was the lowest (P<0.05) among all groups. No difference was found in other body constituents among test fish (P>0.05). The thiobarbituric acid-reactive substances produced by iron-catalyzed lipid peroxidation in muscle and liver tissue of fish fed the diet without alpha-tocopheryl acetate supplementation were significantly (P<0.05) greater than those from fish fed diets containing higher levels of alpha-tocopheryl acetate. Dietary vitamin E supplementation increased the antioxidant capability of tilapia tissues against lipid peroxidation. Further, dietary vitamin E supplementation also influenced the lens cortical membrane structure of tilapia.  相似文献

This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of chromium nanoparticles (CrNano) on the hormone and immune responses of rats in heat stress condition. A total of 80 male Sprague–Dawley rats were randomly assigned to four dietary treatment groups (n?=?20). The first group was offered a basal diet as a control. The second, third, and fourth groups received basal diet supplemented with 150, 300, and 450 μg/kg Cr, respectively, in the form of CrNano. At the end of the 8-week trial, growth performance, food utilization, and sera concentrations of hormones, immunoglobulins, and alexins were determined. Lymphocyte proliferation activity, antibody response to injected sheep red blood cells (SRBCs), and phagocytosis of peritoneal macrophages were determined by 3H-thymidine uptake method, plaque-forming cells (PFC) assay, and ingesting chicken red blood cells test, respectively. The results indicated that rats that received CrNano exhibited no changes in growth rate and food efficiency compared to the control group. However, dietary supplementation of 150, 300, and 450 μg/kg Cr from CrNano significantly decreased serum concentrations of insulin and cortisol, increased sera levels of insulin-like growth factor I and immunoglobulin G, and enhanced the lymphoproliferative response, anti-SRBC PFC response, and phagocytic activity of peritoneal macrophages. These results suggest that dietary supplementation of Cr as CrNano affects hormone and immune status in heat-stressed rats.  相似文献
