The charging of a metal sphere in a weakly ionized collisional plasma in a uniform external electric field is investigated with allowance for the effect of the space charge field and ionization-recombination processes. The sphere charge and the spatial distributions of charged plasma particles are calculated both numerically and analytically (for some particular cases) for the case of a strong external field. It is found that the size of the perturbed plasma region is determined by the external field and the intensity of recombination processes. It is shown that the total electric charge (the sphere charge plus the plasma space charge) is zero in accordance with predictions of the theory of static currents in a conducting medium.  相似文献

A study is made of the dynamics of the ionospheric plasma in the vicinity of an earth satellite injecting an electron beam. The time evolution of the electric charge of the satellite is determined. The electric potential of the satellite is found to be well below the beam-cutoff potential. It is shown that, under conditions typical of active experiments in space, the plasma electrons are capable of neutralizing the satellite’s charge.  相似文献

Charge-exchange recombination spectroscopy under ITER conditions is numerically simulated using the DINA code. The code allows one to calculate the attenuation of neutral beams in plasma, the intensity of atomic emission and emission from the ions produced by charge exchange with the neutral beam, and the intensity ratio between the emission related to charge exchange and the background continuum plasma emission. The cross sections for atom-ion interactions in plasma are calculated, and the excitation rates of spectral transitions in hydrogen-like impurity ions are determined. The measurement scheme and the main parameters of the spectrometer proposed for charge-exchange recombination diagnostics in ITER are described.  相似文献

Results from experimental studies of ordered dust structures in plasma are reviewed. The experimental conditions and the data on the grain size and intergrain distance in plasma dust crystals are analyzed. It is shown that intergrain distance is a function of the grain size. The range of the ratio of the dust grain size to the Debye radius within which plasma dust crystals can form is determined. A volume cell surrounding a dust grain in plasma is considered. It is found that the potential and charge of the grain depend substantially on the intergrain distance. The charge, potential, and potential energy of a dust grain in a plasma dust crystal, as well as the electrostatic force exerted by the plasma field on the grain, are calculated by the method of molecular dynamics as functions of the intergrain distance. The corresponding analytic approximations and the criterion for the establishment of a steady-state intergrain distance are proposed.  相似文献

The process of compensation of the space charge of a negative ion beam propagating through a neutral gas is investigated numerically. A comparison of the results obtained with experimental data unambiguously proves that, at high gas pressures, when the beam space charge is overcompensated, the electric field within the beam is determined by Coulomb collisions of the beam ions with plasma electrons. At low pressures, when the space charge is undercompensated, the field within the beam is determined by the dynamic processes related to oscillations of the beam current.  相似文献

A study is made of the dispersion properties of surface waves at a plasma-metal interface under thermodynamically nonequilibrium conditions such that a space charge sheath forms at the plasma boundary. In the simplest model, the sheath is described as a dielectric with a given permittivity. The wave parameters in a highly collisional plasma are discussed. The effect of interaction between waves propagating near the opposite plasma boundaries is considered, in particular, for space charge sheaths of different thicknesses. Conditions are determined under which the parameters of surface waves are substantially altered by the plasma-sheath geometric resonance.  相似文献

Plasma membranes from Candida tropicalis grown on glucose or hexadecane were isolated using a method based on the difference in surface charge of mitochondria and plasma membranes.After mechanical disruption of the cells, a fraction consisting of mitochondrial and plasma membrane vesicles was obtained by differential centrifugation.Subsequently the mitochondria were separated from the plasma membrane vesicles by aggregation of the mitochondria at a pH corresponding to their isoelectric point. Additional purification of the isolated plasma membrane vesicles was achieved by osmolysis. Surface charge densities of mitochondria and plasma membranes were determined and showed substrate-dependent differences.The isolated plasma membranes were morphologically characterized by electron microscopy and, as a marker enzyme, the activity of Mg2+-dependant ATPase was determined.By checking for three mitochondrial marker enzymes the plasma membrane fractions were estimated to be 94% pure with regard to mitochondrial contamination.  相似文献

Screening of a moving charged dust particle in a nonequilibrium plasma is studied by using the point sink model. The characteristic time of the formation of a polarization charge cloud around the moving particle is determined. It is shown that the stationary potential of the moving charged macroparticle has a dipole component which becomes dominant at large distances from the macroparticle. The interaction force of the moving charged macroparticle with the induced charge cloud is determined, and it is shown that the direction of this force can coincide with the macroparticle velocity direction.  相似文献

Charging of two conducting spheres in a weakly ionized collisional plasma flow is considered. The spheres are arranged along the flow, and the plasma is assumed to consist of two ion species with the charges equal in magnitude but opposite in sign. The problem is analyzed with allowance for the external electric field, charging of the spheres due to the sedimentation of plasma ions on them, the fields of the sphere charges, the space charge field, and the processes of recombination and molecular diffusion. The interaction between the spheres and plasma is studied by numerically solving a time-dependent problem in a bispherical coordinate system by the finite difference method. The steady-state values of the sphere charges and the distributions of the space charge and ion densities in the ambient plasma are found as functions of the plasma parameters and the distance between the spheres. The electrostatic forces acting on the spheres are determined, and the effects of the external field, the space charge fields, and the fields of the sphere charges are comparatively analyzed. It is shown that, for the considered plasma parameters, the main electrostatic effect in the interaction between two spheres is their mutual approach in the external field due to the difference in their charges (one sphere catches up with the other). Due to the friction force with the neutral gas, this mutual approach is much slower than all other processes in the system. For widely spaced spheres, the results coincide with the solution obtained previously for a solitary sphere.  相似文献

Virtually all apoprotein B (apoB)-containing lipoproteins of the peripheral interstitial fluid of subjects with primary lymphoedema float in the ultracentrifugal field in the density interval 1.019-1.063 g/ml; in this respect they are similar to plasma low-density lipoproteins (LDL). 2. Virtually all apo-B-containing lipoproteins of interstitial fluid migrate in the electrophoretic field with pre-beta mobility; in this respect they are similar to plasma very-low-density lipoproteins. 3. The apoB of lipoproteins of interstitial fluid does not differ in terms of Mr from apoB-100 of human plasma [Kane, Hardman & Paulus (1980) Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. U.S.A. 77, 2465-2469] as determined by sodium dodecyl sulphate/polyacrylamide-gel electrophoresis. 4. Both apoB of interstitial fluid and plasma are heterogenous in terms of their charge as determined by isoelectric focusing of their complexes with the nonionic detergent Nonidet P40. ApoB of plasma LDL focuses between pH5.9 and 6.65, and that of interstitial fluid LDL between pH 5.9 and 6.1. Thus the overall charge of apoB of interstitial fluid is more negative than that of its plasma LDL counterpart.  相似文献

Equations for the motion of an individual dust grain in the double layer of a negatively charged cylindrical probe in a glow discharge plasma are derived and solved numerically. The distribution of the electric potential near the probe is determined, and the grain charge is calculated as a function of the distance from the probe for different probe potentials. The trajectories of grains with different initial energies are traced. An analysis of the grain trajectories shows that, at a certain distance from the probe, high-energy grains may be recharged; i.e., the grain charge may change sign. The grains are found to have no direct effect on the probe current in a dusty plasma of a glow discharge.  相似文献

The stability of charge distribution over the surface of a conducting body in moving plasma is analyzed. Using a finite-width plate streamlined by a cold neutralized electron flow as an example, it is shown that an electrically neutral body can be unstable against the development of spontaneous polarization. The plasma parameters at which such instability takes place, as well as the frequency and growth rate of the fundamental mode of instability, are determined.  相似文献

The effect of the electrical charge on the intestinal absorption of a protein was studied in normal adult rats. Chicken egg lysozyme (Lyz), a basic protein with a molecular weight of 14,300, was selected and several techniques for chemical modification were applied. Then the intestinal absorption of Lyz derivatives was evaluated by measuring the radioactivity in plasma and tissues, after the administration of an (111)In-labeled derivative to an in situ closed loop of the jejunum. After the administration of (111)In-Lyz, the level of radioactivity in plasma was comparable with the lytic activity of Lyz, supporting the fact that the radioactivity represents intact Lyz. (111)In-cationized Lyz showed a 2-3 times higher level of radioactivity in plasma, whereas the radioactivity of (111)In-anionized Lyz was much lower. The absorption rate of (111)In-Lyz derivatives calculated by a deconvolution method was correlated for the strength of their positive net charge. A similar relationship was observed using superoxide dismutase. These findings indicate that the intestinal absorption of a protein is, at least partially, determined by its electrical charge.  相似文献

A method for calculating the effective charge of fast ions decelerated in a hot dense plasma is proposed. The method is based on the known experimental dependence of the effective charge of an ion decelerated in cold matter on its velocity. The ion velocity in this dependence is replaced with the velocity of an ion relative to plasma electrons, averaged over the Fermi-Dirac distribution. Using results of numerical calculations performed in a wide range of plasma parameters (from a Maxwellian plasma to a fully degenerate one), a scale-invariant representation of the effective charge of a decelerating ion as a function of its initial velocity and the plasma temperature and density is obtained. An analytical formula fitting the calculated results to within 5% is derived. The obtained dependences of the effective charge are incorporated in the model describing deceleration of fast ions in plasma. Using this model, the stopping powers of krypton and lead ions in a relatively cold rarefied gas-discharge plasma and hot ICF plasma are calculated. The results of calculations are shown to agree satisfactorily with available experimental data.  相似文献

A comparative immunochemical and physico-chemical study of leukocyte thermostable alpha-glycoprotein (LTG) has been performed in pus extract, hemolysate, leukolysate and blood plasma. Immunochemically determined LTG is heterogeneous in respect of molecular charge, sialic acid content and temperature stability. LTG in the blood plasma has a form of alpha-globulin, while in hemolysate it is a beta-globulin, with both forms present in pus. In leukolysate LTG possessing incomplete immunochemical identity with pus and plasma LTG was detected. It is suggested that LTG forms detected differ in their biological activity as well.  相似文献

The chemical composition, liquid content sign and value of charge as well as structure and size of lipid vesicles are studied for the effect they exert on the liposome permeability for 22Na+ in the presence of human blood plasma. The rate of the isotope outlet from the electroneutral lecithin liposomes is determined by the size of vesicles and the quantity of phospholipid bilayers in their membrane. The presence either of a negative or a positive charge on the surface of the liposome membrane has no essential effect on the outlet rate of the radioactive marker. Introduction of different amounts of cholesterol or sphingomyelin into the liposome composition decreases considerably the lipid vesicle permeability and an increase in the liquid content of their membranes due to the temperature elevation is accompanied by a sharp rise in the isotope outlet rate. A conclusion is drawn on the possibility to control the outlet rate of the liposome content in the presence of blood plasma.  相似文献

The dust grain charge in the plasma of a glow discharge in noble gases and nitrogen is calculated in the orbit motion limited model for reduced fields in the range of E/N = 1–20 Td. The calculations were performed using the electron energy distribution functions (EEDFs) obtained by solving the Boltzmann equation numerically with allowance for elastic and inelastic electron scattering and analytically with allowance for only elastic scattering and (for nitrogen) excitation of rotational levels, as well as using a Maxwellian EEDF. In the latter case, either the characteristic electron energy or mean electron energy multiplied by two thirds was used as the electron temperature. It is shown that the calculations with the use of a Maxwellian EEDF yield larger values of the grain charge as compared to those calculated with EEDFs obtained by solving the Boltzmann equation. The range of E/N values is determined in which analytical expressions for the EEDF obtained with allowance for elastic scattering and excitation of rotational levels are applicable to calculating the grain charge. The effect of the EEDF shape on the screening of the dust grain charge in plasma is investigated. The Debye screening length in case of a Maxwellian EEDF is shown to be shorter than that obtained with EEDFs calculated by numerically solving the Boltzmann equation.  相似文献

Fluorescence anisotropy of tryptophan residues of membrane proteins, fluorescence anisotropy of 3-methoxybenzanetron and fluorescence intensity of 1-anilinonaphthalene-8-sulphonate were determined. Changes of tryptophan fluorescence anisotropy and of ANS fluorescence intensity were established.
