The optically active mixed‐ligand fac(S)‐tris(thiolato)rhodium(III) complexes, ΔLfac(S)‐[Rh(aet)2(L‐cys‐N,S)]? (aet = 2‐aminoethanethiolate, L‐cys = L‐cysteinate) ( 1 ) and ΔLLfac(S)‐[Rh(aet)(L‐cys‐N,S)2]2? were newly prepared by the equatorial preference of the carboxyl group in the coordinated L‐cys ligand. The amide formation reaction of 1 with 1,10‐diaminodecane and polyallylamine gave the diamine‐bridged dinuclear Rh(III) complex and the single‐chain polymer‐supported Rh(III) complex with retention of the ΔL configuration of 1 , respectively. These Rh(III) complexes reacted with Co(III) or Co(II) to give the linear‐type trinuclear structure with the S‐bridged Co(III) center and the two Δ‐Rh(III) terminal moieties. The polymer‐supported Rh(III) complex was applied not only to the CD spectropolarimetric detection and determination of a trace of precious metal ions such as Au(III), Pt(II), and Pd(II) but also to concentration and extraction of these metal ions into the solid polymer phase. Pol η belongs to the important Y family of DNA polymerases that can catalyze translesion synthesis across sites of damaged DNA. This activity involves the reduced fidelity of Pol η for 8‐oxo‐7,8‐dhyedro‐2′‐deoxoguanosin(8‐oxoG). The fundamental interest in Pol η has grown recently with the demonstration of the importance of a 3rd Mg2+ ion. The current work explores both the fidelity of Pol η and the role of the 3rd metal ion, by using empirical valence bond (EVB) simulations. The simulations reproduce the observed trend in fidelity and shed a new light on the role of the 3rd metal ion. It is found that this ion does not lead to a major catalytic effect, but most probably plays an important role in reducing the product release barrier. Furthermore, it is concluded, in contrast to some implications, that the effect of this metal does not violate transition state theory, and the evaluation of the catalytic effect must conserve the molecular composition upon moving from the reactant to the transition state. Li‐rich layered oxides (LLOs) can deliver almost double the capacity of conventional electrode materials such as LiCoO2 and LiMn2O4; however, voltage fade and capacity degradation are major obstacles to the practical implementation of LLOs in high‐energy lithium‐ion batteries. Herein, hexagonal La0.8Sr0.2MnO3?y (LSM) is used as a protective and phase‐compatible surface layer to stabilize the Li‐rich layered Li1.2Ni0.13Co0.13Mn0.54O2 (LM) cathode material. The LSM is Mn? O? M bonded at the LSM/LM interface and functions by preventing the migration of metal ions in the LM associated with capacity degradation as well as enhancing the electrical transfer and ionic conductivity at the interface. The LSM‐coated LM delivers an enhanced reversible capacity of 202 mAh g?1 at 1 C (260 mA g?1) with excellent cycling stability and rate capability (94% capacity retention after 200 cycles and 144 mAh g?1 at 5 C). This work demonstrates that interfacial bonding between coating and bulk material is a successful strategy for the modification of LLO electrodes for the next‐generation of high‐energy Li‐ion batteries.  相似文献

Octaprenyl pyrophosphate synthase (OPPs) catalyzes consecutive condensation reactions of one allylic substrate farnesyl pyrophosphate (FPP) and five homoallylic substrate isopentenyl pyrophosphate (IPP) molecules to form a C40 long‐chain product OPP, which serves as a side chain of ubiquinone and menaquinone. OPPs belongs to the trans‐prenyltransferase class of proteins. The structures of OPPs from Escherichia coli were solved in the apo‐form as well as in complexes with IPP and a FPP thio‐analog, FsPP, at resolutions of 2.2–2.6 Å, and revealed the detailed interactions between the ligands and enzyme. At the bottom of the active‐site tunnel, M123 and M135 act in concert to form a wall which determines the final chain length. These results represent the first ligand‐bound crystal structures of a long‐chain trans‐prenyltransferase and provide new information on the mechanisms of catalysis and product chain elongation. Using 2,4,6‐tris‐(2‐pyridyl)‐s‐triazine (TPTZ) as a neutral ligand, and p‐hydroxybenzoic acid, terephthalic acid and nitrate as anion ligands, five novel europium complexes have been synthesized. These complexes were characterized using elemental analysis, rare earth coordination titrations, UV/vis absorption spectroscopy and infrared spectroscopy. Luminescence spectra, luminescence lifetime and quantum efficiency were investigated and the mechanism discussed in depth. The results show that the complexes have excellent emission intensities, long emission lifetimes and high quantum efficiencies. The superior luminescent properties of the complexes may be because the triplet energy level of the ligands matches well with the lowest excitation state energy level of Eu3+. Moreover, changing the ratio of the ligands and metal ions leads to different luminescent properties. Among the complexes, Eu2(TPTZ)2(C8H4O4)(NO3)4(C2H5OH)·H2O shows the strongest luminescence intensity, longest emission lifetime and highest quantum efficiency. BINAP‐metal complexes were prepared as extractant for enantioselective liquid–liquid extraction (ELLE) of amino‐(4‐nitro‐phenyl)‐acetic acid (NPA) enantiomers. The influence of process variables, including types of organic solvents and metal precursor, concentration of ligand, pH, and temperature on the efficiency of the extraction, were investigated experimentally. An interfacial reaction model was established for insightful understanding of the chiral extraction process. Important parameters required for the model were determined. The experimental data were compared with model predictions to verify the model prediction, It was found that the interfacial reaction model predicted the experimental results accurately. By modeling and experiment, an optimal extraction condition with pH of 7 and host (extractant) concentration of 1 mmol/L was obtained and high enantioselectivity (αop) of 3.86 and performance factor (pf) of 0.1949 were achieved. The preparation of tetrakis((+)‐hfbc) lanthanide(III) complexes with an encapsulated alkali metal and ammonium ions M[Ln((+)‐hfbc)4] (hereafter abbreviated as M‐Ln : (+)‐hfbc, (+)‐heptafluorobutyrylcamphorate; M, ammonium or benzyl ammonium ions as well as alkali metal ions) was reported and discussed. The electronic circular dichroism (CD) spectra in the intraligand π?π* transition of M–Ln were examined in view of the solvent effect. Here, the concentration, alkali metal, and ammonium ion dependences are compared with the solid CD, 5D07F0(Eu(III)) excitation spectra, circularly polarized luminescence, and vibrational circular dichroism. It has been revealed that the dodecahedral eight coordinate DD‐8‐M‐Ln complexes in crystals are equilibrated between the diastereoselectively formed square antiprism eight coordinate SAPR‐8‐M‐Ln and [Ln((+)‐hfbc)3] in EtOH and CH3CN solutions or between the SAPR‐8‐M‐Ln and DD‐D2d(mmmm)‐8‐M‐Ln complexes in CHCl3 solution. The observed CD couplets are found to reflect the exciton CD couplets which are useful to determine the four‐bladed SAPR‐(llll) absolute configuration around the lanthanide(III) ion. Eukaryotic DNA replication is performed by high‐fidelity multi‐subunit replicative B‐family DNA polymerases (Pols) α, δ and ?. Those complexes are composed of catalytic and accessory subunits and organized in multicomplex machinery: the replisome. The fourth B‐family member, DNA polymerase zeta (Pol ζ), is responsible for a large portion of mutagenesis in eukaryotic cells. Two forms of Pol ζ have been identified, a hetero‐dimeric (Pol ζ2) and a hetero‐tetrameric (Pol ζ4) ones and recent data have demonstrated that Pol ζ4 is responsible for damage‐induced mutagenesis. Here, using yeast Pol ζ mutant defective in the assembly of the Pol ζ four‐subunit form, we show in vivo that [4Fe‐4S] cluster in Pol ζ catalytic subunit (Rev3p) is also required for spontaneous (wild‐type cells) and defective‐replisome‐induced mutagenesis – DRIM (pol3‐Y708A, pol2‐1 or psf1‐100 cells), when cells are not treated with any external damaging agents.  相似文献

Two complexes of Tb3+, Gd3+/Tb3+ and one heteronuclear crystal Gd3+/Tb3+ with phenoxyacetic acid (HPOA) and 2,4,6‐tris‐(2‐pyridyl)‐s–triazine (TPTZ) have been synthesized. Elemental analysis, rare earth coordination titration, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry (ICP‐AES) and thermogravimetric analysis‐differential scanning calorimetry (TG‐DSC) analysis show that the two complexes are Tb2(POA)6(TPTZ)2·6H2O and TbGd(POA)6(TPTZ)2·6H2O, respectively. The crystal structure of TbGd(POA)6(TPTZ)2·2CH3OH was determined using single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. The monocrystal belongs to the triclinic system with the P‐1 space group. In particular, each metal ion is coordinately bonded to three nitrogen atoms of one TPTZ and seven oxygen atoms of three phenoxyacetic ions. Furthermore, there exist two coordinate forms between C6H5OCH2COO and the metal ions in the crystal. One is a chelating bidentate, the other is chelating and bridge coordinating. Fluorescence determination shows that the two complexes possess strong fluorescence emissions. Furthermore, the fluorescence intensity of the Gd3+/Tb3+ complex is much stronger than that of the undoped complex, which may result from a decrease in the concentration quench of Tb3+ ions, and intramolecular energy transfer from the ligands coordinated with Gd3+ ions to Tb3+ ions. A new nonionic reverse micellar system is developed by blending two nonionic surfactants, Triton X‐45 and Span 80. At total surfactant concentrations lower than 60 mmol/L and molar fractions of Triton X‐45 less than 0.6, thermodynamically stable reverse micelles of water content (W0) up to 30 are formed. Di(2‐ethylhexyl) phosphoric acid (HDEHP; 1–2 mmol/L) is introduced into the system for chelating transition metal ions that have binding affinity for histidine‐rich proteins. HDEHP exists in a dimeric form in organic solvents and a dimer associated with one transition metal ion, including copper, zinc, and nickel. The copper‐chelate reverse micelles (Cu‐RM) are characterized for their W0, hydrodynamic radius (Rh), and aggregation number (Nag). Similar with reverse micelles of bis‐2‐ethylhexyl sodium sulfosuccinate (AOT), Rh of the Cu‐RM is also linearly related to W0. However, Nag is determined to be 30–90 at W0 of 5–30, only quarter to half of the AOT reverse micelles. Then, selective metal‐chelate extraction of histidine‐rich protein (myoglobin) by the Cu‐RM is successfully performed with pure and mixed protein systems (myoglobin and lysozyme). The solubilized protein can be recovered by stripping with imidazole or ethylinediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) solution. Because various transition metal ions can be chelated to the reverse micelles, it is convinced that the system would be useful for application in protein purification as well as simultaneous isolation and refolding of recombinant histidine‐tagged proteins expressed as inclusion bodies. © 2009 American Institute of Chemical Engineers Biotechnol. Half‐Heusler (HH) alloys are among the best promising thermoelectric (TE) materials applicable for the middle‐to‐high temperature power generation. Despite of the large thermoelectric power factor and decent figure‐of‐merit ZT (≈1), their broad applications and enhancement on TE performance are limited by the high intrinsic lattice thermal conductivity (κL) due to insufficiencies of phonon scattering mechanisms, and the fewer powerful strategies associated with the microstructural engineering for HH materials. This study reports a bottom‐up nanostructure synthesis approach for these HH materials based on the displacement reaction between metal chlorides/bromides and magnesium (or lithium), followed by vacuum‐assisted spark plasma sintering process. The samples are featured with dense dislocation arrays at the grain boundaries, leading to a minimum κL of ≈1 W m?1 K?1 at 900 K and one of the highest ZT (≈1) and predicted η (≈11%) for n‐type Hf0.25Zr0.75NiSn0.97Sb0.03. Further manipulation on the dislocation defects at the grain boundaries of p‐type Nb0.8Ti0.2FeSb leads to enhanced maximum power factor of 47 × 10?4 W m?1 K?2 and the predicted η of ≈7.5%. Moreover, vanadium substitution in FeNb0.56V0.24Ti0.2Sb significantly promotes the η to ≈11%. This strategy can be extended to a broad range of advanced alloys and compounds for improved properties.  相似文献

The high‐capacity cathode material V2O5·n H2O has attracted considerable attention for metal ion batteries due to the multielectron redox reaction during electrochemical processes. It has an expanded layer structure, which can host large ions or multivalent ions. However, structural instability and poor electronic and ionic conductivities greatly handicap its application. Here, in cell tests, self‐assembly V2O5·n H2O nanoflakes shows excellent electrochemical performance with either monovalent or multivalent cation intercalation. They are directly grown on a 3D conductive stainless steel mesh substrate via a simple and green hydrothermal method. Well‐layered nanoflakes are obtained after heat treatment at 300 °C (V2O5·0.3H2O). Nanoflakes with ultrathin flower petals deliver a stable capacity of 250 mA h g?1 in a Li‐ion cell, 110 mA h g?1 in a Na‐ion cell, and 80 mA h g?1 in an Al‐ion cell in their respective potential ranges (2.0–4.0 V for Li and Na‐ion batteries and 0.1–2.5 V for Al‐ion battery) after 100 cycles.  相似文献

Metal complexes of thiamine pyrophosphate (TPP) of the general formula [M2(TPPH)2Cl2].4H2O (M =Zn2+, Cd2+) were isolated from methanolic solutions and characterized by elemental analysis, FT-IR, and multinuclear NMR spectroscopies. The data provide evidence for the bonding of the metals to the N(1') atom of the pyrimidine ring and to the pyrophosphate group. The stability constant measurements of TPP and 2-(α-hydroxyethyl)thiamine pyrophosphate (HETPP) metal complexes in aqueous solution imply the formation of dimeric complex species similar to the isolated solid products. They indicate also that HETPP forms more stable metal complexes than does TPP. To evaluate the coenzyme action of TPP and HETPP metal complexes, enzymic studies have been done using pyruvate decarboxylase apoenzyme. TPP metal complexes do not bind to the apoenzyme, unlike the Zn(II)-HETPP complex which can act as coenzyme. Considering these results, possible functional implications for thiamine involvement in catalysis are discussed. Received 13 September 1999 / Accepted 4 January 2000  相似文献

Atomically dispersed Fe–N–C catalysts are considered the most promising precious‐metal‐free alternative to state‐of‐the‐art Pt‐based oxygen reduction electrocatalysts for proton‐exchange membrane fuel cells. The exceptional progress in the field of research in the last ≈30 years is currently limited by the moderate active site density that can be obtained. Behind this stands the dilemma of metastability of the desired FeN4 sites at the high temperatures that are believed to be a requirement for their formation. It is herein shown that Zn2+ ions can be utilized in the novel concept of active‐site imprinting based on a pyrolytic template ion reaction throughout the formation of nitrogen‐doped carbons. As obtained atomically dispersed Zn–N–Cs comprising ZnN4 sites as well as metal‐free N4 sites can be utilized for the coordination of Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions to form atomically dispersed Fe–N–C with Fe loadings as high as 3.12 wt%. The Fe–N–Cs are active electocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction in acidic media with an onset potential of E0 = 0.85 V versus RHE in 0.1 m HClO4. Identical location atomic resolution transmission electron microscopy imaging, as well as in situ electrochemical flow cell coupled to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry measurements, is employed to directly prove the concept of the active‐site imprinting approach.  相似文献

The inositol monophosphatase (IMPase) enzyme from the hyperthermophilic archaeon Methanocaldococcus jannaschii requires Mg2+ for activity and binds three to four ions tightly in the absence of ligands: KD = 0.8 μM for one ion with a KD of 38 μM for the other Mg2+ ions. However, the enzyme requires 5–10 mM Mg2+ for optimum catalysis, suggesting substrate alters the metal ion affinity. In crystal structures of this archaeal IMPase with products, one of the three metal ions is coordinated by only one protein contact, Asp38. The importance of this and three other acidic residues in a mobile loop that approaches the active site was probed with mutational studies. Only D38A exhibited an increased kinetic KD for Mg2+; D26A, E39A, and E41A showed no significant change in the Mg2+ requirement for optimal activity. D38A also showed an increased Km, but little effect on kcat. This behavior is consistent with this side chain coordinating the third metal ion in the substrate complex, but with sufficient flexibility in the loop such that other acidic residues could position the Mg2+ in the active site in the absence of Asp38. While lithium ion inhibition of the archaeal IMPase is very poor (IC50~250 mM), the D38A enzyme has a dramatically enhanced sensitivity to Li+ with an IC50 of 12 mM. These results constitute additional evidence for three metal ion assisted catalysis with substrate and product binding reducing affinity of the third necessary metal ion. They also suggest a specific mode of action for lithium inhibition in the IMPase superfamily.  相似文献

Li metal is a promising anode material for all‐solid‐state batteries, owing to its high specific capacity and low electrochemical potential. However, direct contact of Li metal with most solid‐state electrolytes induces severe side reactions that can lead to dendrite formation and short circuits. Moreover, Li metal is unstable when exposed to air, leading to stringent processing requirements. Herein, it is reported that the Li3PS4/Li interface in all‐solid‐state batteries can be stabilized by an air‐stable LixSiSy protection layer that is formed in situ on the surface of Li metal through a solution‐based method. Highly stable Li cycling for over 2000 h in symmetrical cells and a lifetime of over 100 cycles can be achieved for an all‐solid‐state LiCoO2/Li3PS4/Li cell. Synchrotron‐based high energy X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy in‐depth analysis demonstrates the distribution of different components within the protection layer. The in situ formation of an electronically insulating LixSiSy protection layer with highly ionic conductivity provides an effective way to prevent Li dendrite formation in high‐energy all‐solid‐state Li metal batteries.  相似文献

Over the last decade, Na‐ion batteries have been extensively studied as low‐cost alternatives to Li‐ion batteries for large‐scale grid storage applications; however, the development of high‐energy positive electrodes remains a major challenge. Materials with a polyanionic framework, such as Na superionic conductor (NASICON)‐structured cathodes with formula NaxM2(PO4)3, have attracted considerable attention because of their stable 3D crystal structure and high operating potential. Herein, a novel NASICON‐type compound, Na4MnCr(PO4)3, is reported as a promising cathode material for Na‐ion batteries that deliver a high specific capacity of 130 mAh g?1 during discharge utilizing high‐voltage Mn2+/3+ (3.5 V), Mn3+/4+ (4.0 V), and Cr3+/4+ (4.35 V) transition metal redox. In addition, Na4MnCr(PO4)3 exhibits a high rate capability (97 mAh g?1 at 5 C) and excellent all‐temperature performance. In situ X‐ray diffraction and synchrotron X‐ray diffraction analyses reveal reversible structural evolution for both charge and discharge.  相似文献

The synthesis of (R )‐1‐(pyridin‐4‐yl)ethyl acetate was achieved over tandem palladium‐lipase catalyst with 100% selectivity using 4‐acetyl pyridine as a reactant. The 2% w /w palladium and lipase catalyst was successfully co‐immobilized in the microenvironment of the mesocellular foam and characterized by various techniques. The palladium metal from catalyst hydrogenated 4‐acetyl pyridine to form 1‐(pyridin‐4‐yl)ethanol. The generated intermediate product then underwent kinetic resolution over lipase and selectively gave (R )‐1‐(pyridin‐4‐ yl)ethyl acetate. The catalytic conditions were then studied for optimal performance of both steps. The reaction conditions were optimized to 50 °C and toluene as a solvent. Both chemical and enzymatic kinetic models of the reaction were developed for a given set of reaction conditions and kinetic parameters were predicted. At optimal conditions, the obtained selectivity of intermediate (1‐(pyridin‐4‐yl)ethanol) was 51.38%. The final product yield of ((R )‐1‐(pyridin‐4‐yl)ethyl acetate) was 48.62%.  相似文献

Finding suitable electrode materials for alkali‐metal‐ion storage is vital to the next‐generation energy‐storage technologies. Polyantimonic acid (PAA, H2Sb2O6 · nH2O), having pentavalent antimony species and an interconnected tunnel‐like pyrochlore crystal framework, is a promising high‐capacity energy‐storage material. Fabricating electrochemically reversible PAA electrode materials for alkali‐metal‐ion storage is a challenge and has never been reported due to the extremely poor intrinsic electronic conductivity of PAA associated with the highest oxidation state Sb(V). Combining nanostructure engineering with a conductive‐network construction strategy, here is reported a facile one‐pot synthesis protocol for crafting uniform internal‐void‐containing PAA nano‐octahedra in a composite with nitrogen‐doped reduced graphene oxide nanosheets (PAA?N‐RGO), and for the first time, realizing the reversible storage of both Li+ and K+ ions in PAA?N‐RGO. Such an architecture, as validated by theoretical calculations and ex/in situ experiments, not only fully takes advantage of the large‐sized tunnel transport pathways (0.37 nm2) of PAA for fast solid‐phase ionic diffusion but also leads to exponentially increased electrical conductivity (3.3 S cm?1 in PAA?N‐RGO vs 4.8 × 10?10 S cm?1 in bare‐PAA) and yields an inside‐out buffer function for accommodating volume expansion. Compared to electrochemically irreversible bare‐PAA, PAA?N‐RGO manifests reversible conversion‐alloying of Sb(V) toward fast and durable Li+‐ and K+‐ion storage.  相似文献
