The continuous presence of active male small ruminants prevents seasonal anestrus in females, but evidence of the same mechanism operating from the females to the males is scarce. This study assessed the effects of the continuous presence of ewes in estrus in spring on ram sexual activity, testicular size and echogenicity, and LH and testosterone concentrations. On 1 March, 20 rams were assigned to two groups (n = 10 each): isolated (ISO) from other sheep, or stimulated (STI) by 12 ewes, which were separated from the rams by an openwork metal barrier, allowing contact between sexes. Each week, four ewes were induced into estrus by intravaginal sponges. Live weight, scrotal circumference, testicular width (TW) and length (TL) were recorded at the beginning and at the end of the experiment, and testicular volume (TV) was calculated; at the same time, testicular ultrasonography and color Doppler scanning were performed. Blood samples (March to May) were collected once per week for testosterone determinations, and at the end of the experiment, blood samples were collected for 6 h at 20-min intervals for LH analysis. Rams were exposed to four estrous ewes in a serving-capacity test. Scrotal circumference, TW and TL were higher in the STI than in the ISO rams (P < 0.05) in May, and TV was higher (P < 0.05) in the STI (391 ± 17 cm3) than in the ISO rams (354 ± 24 cm3). In ISO rams, the number of white pixels was higher (P < 0.01) in May (348 ± 74) than in March (94 ± 21) and differed significantly (P < 0.01) from that of the STI rams in May (160 ± 33). In ISO rams, the number of grey pixels was higher (P < 0.05) in May (107 ± 3) than it was in March (99 ± 1). Stimulated and ISO rams did not differ significantly in mean LH plasma concentrations (0.8 ± 0.5 v. 0.9 ± 0.4 ng/ml), LH pulses (2.1 ± 0.5 v. 2.2 ± 0.2) and amplitude (2.0 ± 0.4 v. 3.2 ± 0.7 ng/ml, respectively). Stimulated rams had significantly higher testosterone concentrations than ISO rams from April to the end of the experiment. Stimulated rams performed more (P < 0.05) mountings with intromission (3.0 ± 0.4) than did ISO rams (1.5 ± 0.5). In conclusion, after 3 months in the continuous presence of ewes in estrus in spring, rams had higher TV and some testicular echogenic parameters were modified than isolated rams. Although exposed rams also had higher levels of testosterone after 2 months in the presence of estrous ewes, their LH pulsatility at the end of the study was not modified.  相似文献

Oestrus, conception and lambing performance were assessed in progesterone-primed seasonally anoestrous ewes induced to ovulate with gonadotrophin-releasing hormone (Gn-RH), which was administered intravenously for 48 h as either injections of 250 ng at 2-h intervals (n = 15) or as a continuous infusion at the rate of 125 ng/h (n = 12) or 250 ng/h (n = 12).In 1415 of the ewes injected with Gn-RH, a preovulatory LH peak was recorded at a mean time interval of 33.9 ± 1.8 h after the start of treatment. All ewes displayed oestrus and all ovulated, with a mean ovulation rate of 1.67 ± 0.13. Eleven ewes were diagnosed as pregnant and subsequently lambed. Following infusion of Gn-RH, preovulatory LH peaks were recorded in 2124 ewes at a mean time of 36.1 ± 2.9 h (125 ng/h) and 34.7 ± 2.0 h (250 ng/h). All but two of the ewes displayed oestrus and 2324 ovulated. The group mean ovulation rates of 1.27 ± 0.14 (125 ng/h) and 1.75 ± 0.22 (250 ng/h) were not significantly different. Eleven of the 22 ewes mated were diagnosed as pregnant and produced live lambs. These results suggest that fertility of Gn-RH-induced ovulations in seasonally anoestrous ewes is comparable to that apparent in ewes ovulating spontaneously during the breeding season.  相似文献

The present investigation compares the suitability of norgestomet versus medroxyprogesterone and fluorogestone in inducing breeding in anestrous lactating ewes. Six hundred lactating ewes of two local dairy breeds were randomly divided into three equal groups during the spring. Ewes in group I were treated with 60 mg of medroxyprogesterone and in group II with 40 mg of fluorogestone using impregnated polyurethane vaginal sponges for 14 days. Ewes in group III were treated with 1.3 mg of norgestomet in impregnated mini-implants, placed subcutaneously in dorsal pinnae of the ear. The day the sponges and implants were removed, the ewes in each group were randomly allocated in two subgroups, a and b, and received 500 I.U. and 1,000 I.U. of PMSG, respectively. Vasectomized rams were used for estrus detection and fertile rams for hand mating. The percentage of estrus exhibition and subsequent mating was similar among groups (98 and 84%, subgroups Ia and Ib vs 100 and 100%, subgroups IIa and IIb vs 100 and 96%, subgroups IIIa and IIIb). The meantime of estrus exhibition ranged between 40.1h ± 6.2h to 42.3h ± 4.1h in IIIa and IIIb, 46.4h ± 6.1h to 49.2h ± 3.9h in Ia and Ib, and 48.3h ± 6.1h to 50h ± 4.6h in IIa and IIb, respectively. The lambing percentage ranged between 59 to 49% in IIIa and IIIb, 62 to 39% in Ia and Ib, and 71 to 28% in IIa and IIb, respectively. The percentage of subsequent estrus returns was ranged between 39 to 50% in IIIa and IIIb, 38 to 59% in Ia and Ib, and 26 to 70% in IIa and IIb, respectively. The lambing percentage of the returns ranged in the same level (86 to 100% in group I vs 92 to 96% in group II vs 91 to 90% in group III, respectively) as well as the prolificacy (178 to 209 in group I vs 187 to 176 in group II vs 200 to 188 in group III, respectively). It was concluded that induction of breeding in anestrous lactating ewes of dairy breeds, using implants containing only 1.3 mg norgestomet, might be a useful tool to improve efficiency of sheep production.  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted in consecutive years in which recently (Experiment 1) or temporarily (Experiment 2) weaned ewes and matched post-partum non-lactating flockmates (DRY) were exposed to a stimulus group of rams and oestrous ewes (10 and 20 in Experiment 1, 20 and 20 in Experiment 2) for 28 days in spring. Lactating ewes (n = 130) in Experiment 1 were isolated from their lambs 4 (W-4), 2 (W-2), 1 (W-1) or 0 (W-0) days in advance and exposed along with a group of 32 DRY flockmates. Lactating ewes in Experiment 2 (n = 230) were allocated to an unreplicated factorial of two levels of temporary weaning before stimulation (B0: control; B24: lambs removed 24 h before stimulation) by four levels of ewe-lamb contact imposed at the start of the stimulation (A0: control; A12, A24 and A36: lamb-ewe separation during the initial 12, 24 or 36 h of exposure); DRY ewes (n = 54) acted as an augmented factorial control. Oestrus (rump marks) and ovulation (laparoscopy on day 5 and on day 28 (Experiment 1) or day 32 (Experiment 2)) were recorded. Ovulation and oestrous responses in Experiment 1 were similar for DRY (90.6% and 55.2%, respectively) and recently weaned ewes (83.8% and 53.7%, respectively). Amongst recently weaned ewes, the immediate ovulation response to the rams and the proportion of ewes still cycling by day 28 tended to be lower (P = 0.065 and P = 0.011) in ewes weaned on the day of ram exposure (71.9% and 54.8% v. 87.8% and 80.0%, respectively). Ovulation rate was lower (P < 0.003) in W-2 ewes (1.3 ± 0.10) than in the other recently weaned groups. In Experiment 2, ovulation (83.3%) and oestrous (68.9%) responses in DRY ewes were higher (P = 0.022 and P = 0.053, respectively) than in lactating ewes (66.2% and 51.0%, respectively). More ewes ovulated (P = 0.036) in B24 (70.5%) than in B0 (61.8%). Ewes having their lambs returned 12 h after the onset of stimulation (A12) had poorer ovulation responses (54.9%) than control ewes (A0, 72.9%, P < 0.05); this was probably associated to lamb restitution after the sunset. Main conclusions were that (i) the presence of the lambs is a depressing factor of both ovulation and oestrous responses to the ram effect in lactating ewes, (ii) the ovulation response of lactating ewes will probably benefit from removing lambs for a period of 24 h before the onset of stimulation, (iii) until additional information becomes available, temporary weaning protocols should be designed avoiding lamb restitution during the night.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to determine if the absence of the mother during rearing has long-term effects on sexual behaviour and physiological reproductive parameters of adult rams. Two groups of rams were: (1) artificially reared, separated from their dams 24 to 36 h after birth (Week 0) and fed using sheep milk until 10 weeks of age (group AR, n=14); and (2) reared by their dams until 10 weeks of age (group DR, n=13). Sexual behaviour (tests of 20 min) and physiological reproductive parameters were analysed separately for the non-breeding (Weeks 42 to 64) and the breeding (Weeks 66 to 90) seasons. Body weight, scrotal circumference, gonado-somatic index, testosterone concentrations or sperm parameters were similar in both rearing conditions (AR v. DR) in both seasons. During the non-breeding season AR rams displayed fewer ano-genital sniffings (AR: 4.2±0.4 v. DR: 5.3±0.4, P=0.04) and matings (AR: 1.2±0.2 v. DR: 1.8±0.2, P=0.002) than DR rams. During the breeding season AR rams displayed fewer ano-genital sniffings (AR: 4.3±0.5 v. DR: 5.7±0.5, P=0.005), flehmen (AR: 0.7±0.2 v. DR: 1.1±0.2, P=0.03), mount attempts (AR: 1.4±0.2 v. DR: 2.1±0.2, P=0.04), and tended to mount less frequently (AR: 6.6±0.9 v. DR: 8.8±0.9, P=0.08) than DR rams. In conclusion, the absence of the mother during the rearing period negatively affected display of sexual behaviour towards oestrous ewes during a rams adult life in both breeding and non-breeding seasons. However, it did not affect testis size, testosterone secretion or sperm variables.  相似文献

Ovulation was induced by rams in 74 of 91 seasonally anovular Merino ewes. The resulting corpora lutea (CL) were observed by laparoscopy and were found to either persist normally (3874), or regress prematurely (3674). In 32 of the latter ewes premature regression of the CL was followed by a second ovulation within 6 days of the introduction of rams.  相似文献

The effect of the Booroola (Bo) F gene on the reproductive development of Bo × South Australian Merino (12Bo) rams was examined. Half Bo rams were offspring of FF (homozygous carrier), F+ (heterozygous carrier) or ++ (homozygous non-carrier) Bo sires, so that the expected frequency of 12Bo rams carrying the gene should be approximately 1.0, 0.5 or 0.0, respectively. The genotype of each Bo sire was defined on the basis of the proportion of daughters with ? 3 ovulations. The reproductive development of the 12Bo rams corresponding with each sire genotype was studied between 5 and 15 months of age. Traits recorded were: live weight, testicular volume, preputial adhesion score, semen volume, semen density, proportion of rams with ejaculates containing spermatozoa, proportion of rams that mounted and proportion of rams that served oestrous ewes. There were no significant differences among sire genotypes in the traits studied, except for preputial adhesion score (FF < F+ = ++, P < 0.05) and proportion of rams that mounted (FF = F+ < ++, P < 0.05) at 5 months of age. The relevance of these differences is not known but could result from sampling problems. It is concluded that (1) the F gene had no discernible role in male reproductive development between 5 and 15 months of age and (2) the traits examined did not allow a distinction between carrier and non-carrier rams of the F gene.  相似文献

Plasma luteinizing hormone (LH) concentrations were determined in five Dorset ewes fed orchard grass hay (Dactylus glomerata) and five ewes fed alfalfa (Medicago sativa). Total phyto-estrogen content (X±SEM genistein equivalents) of the orchard grass hay and alfalfa was 16.9 ± 2.9 and 118 ± 12.3 ppm respectively. LH was determined at regular intervals during the estrous cycles synchronized with progesterone impregnated pessaries and characterized by marker ram and vaginal cytology.Peak LH levels in control ewes (40.1 ± 5.5 ng/ml) were lower (P<0.05) than in ewes fed phyto-estrogenic alfalfa (66.0 ± 16.8 ng/ml). Results also indicate that the LH peak may occur later (P<0.05) in the estrus period of ewes fed phyto-estrogenic alfalfa (15.4 ±4.5 h). These experiments may suggest that peak LH concentrations are elevated and delayed further into the estrus period in ewes fed phyto-estrogenic alfalfa.  相似文献

Ewes of the Préalpes-du-Sud breed (n=112) were mated with fertile rams and were used to investigate the effect of the presence of vasectomized rams during pregnancy on reproductive outcomes. Ewes in the control group (n=56) were isolated from rams during the whole period of pregnancy, whereas those in the experimental group (n=56) were kept with vasectomized rams from day 10 post-mating until lambing. At day 10 post-mating, a series of blood samples was collected every 15 min for 8 h from five control ewes and five experimental ewes to determine their patterns of LH secretion. The introduction of the ram was associated with a rapid increase of pulsatile LH release. The lag between the introduction of the ram and the onset of the first episodic LH release was less than 15 min. The mean(±sem) number of LH pulses/4 h after the introduction of the ram (2.8±0.4) was significantly higher (P<0.01) than that observed/4 h before the introduction of the ram (1.4±0.2). Although more ewes were pregnant in the control group (87.5%) than in the ram-exposed group (82.1%), the difference was not significant. The presence of rams did not affect gestation length (145.8 days), overall lamb mortality (3.5%) or birth weights of single (3.96 kg), twin (3.24 kg) or triplet (2.59 kg) lambs. The proportion of ewes with multiple births in the control group (69.4%) was significantly greater (P<0.05) than that in the ram-exposed ewes (47.8%). The ewes in the control group had significantly more (P<0.01) twin lambs born alive (72.3%) than the ewes in the ram-exposed group (50.0%). In conclusion, the presence of vasectomized rams during early pregnancy affected the incidence of multiple births but did not affect pregnancy rate or gestation length. The altered fertility of ewes exposed to vasectomized rams may reflect changes in embryonic loss during early pregnancy.  相似文献

Rapid rebreeding of winter- and spring-lambing ewes is essential if ewes are to lamb more than once per year, but fertility of lactating ewes is often low and early weaning of lambs may be undesirable in forage-based production systems. Selection to improve fertility in spring matings has been successful and led to development of ewes with a reduced seasonal anestrus. Potential for rapid rebreeding of lactating out-of-season breeding (OOS) ewes was tested in three studies. In Experiment 1, effects of short-term lamb removal on rebreeding was evaluated over 2 years using 71 January-lambing OOS ewes. At an average of 63 days postpartum, 36 ewes had lambs removed for 72 h, and all ewes were joined with rams. Circulating progesterone levels indicated that 74% of ewes ovulated before lamb separation; 91% of ewes mated within 5 weeks of ram exposure, 85% were diagnosed as pregnant and 75% lambed. The average interval between lambings was 225 days. In contrast to results observed in cattle, none of the measured variables was affected by lamb separation (P>0.20). Experiment 2 compared rebreeding performance of 24 OOS and 23 St. Croix ewes that lambed in January and averaged 60 days postpartum at ram introduction. More OOS ewes ovulated, mated and became pregnant during the first 21 days of ram exposure (83.3%, 58.3%, and 41.7%, respectively; P<0.001) compared with St. Croix ewes (26.1%, 0%, and 0%, respectively). After 39 days of ram exposure, pregnancy rates still favored OOS ewes (66.7% v. 39.1%; P=0.06), but the percentage of ewes that lambed did not differ (P>0.20) between OOS (47.8%) and St. Croix ewes (34.8%). In the third study, 34 March-lambing OOS ewes were exposed to rams on May 3 at an average of 40 days postpartum to characterize their reproductive performance. After 39 days of ram exposure, 52.9±8.7% of the ewes had mated, and 38.2±8.5% were diagnosed as pregnant. However, only 20.6±7.0% of the ewes produced viable lambs, suggesting a high level of uterine insufficiency. Spring fertility of lactating OOS ewes in these studies was one of the highest reported in the literature and indicated that selection for fertility in spring mating would improve reproductive performance in accelerated lambing programs. However, exposure of lactating OOS ewes to rams at 30 to 50 days postpartum was associated with high prenatal lamb mortality.  相似文献

Three groups of about 65 seasonally anovular Corriedale ewes were penned and exposed to rams on November 4, 1989. A fourth group (n=64) was maintained in a 3-ha paddock and also exposed to rams on the same date. The sexual behaviour exhibited by rams in contact with penned ewes was recorded during nine simultaneous observation sessions lasting 2 h each.

Five days after ram introduction, incidence of ovulation and ovulation rate were higher (P < 0.01) in adult than in 1.5-year-old ewes. Among penned adult ewes, a greater (P < 0.05) incidence of ovulation was recorded in ewes maintained in contact with rams and oestrous ewes (95.8%) than in ewes exposed to either rams with or without recent experience with oestrous ewes (68.7 and 57.1%, respectively). The fourth group, exposed to rams in field conditions, exhibited a lower (P < 0.05) incidence of ovulation (31.9%) than any other group. No differences among treatments were detected in 1.5-year-old ewes. The incidence of ovulation was associated (r=0.99, P<0.05) with the sexual behaviour displayed by the rams.

It was concluded that the sexual behaviour of the rams plays an important role in ram-induced ovulation and that the continuous presence of oestrous ewes is necessary for the maximum efficacy of the technique in Corriedale ewes.  相似文献

In 1990, two selection lines of Merino sheep were established for low and high behavioural reactivity (calm and nervous temperament) at the University of Western Australia. Breeding records consistently showed that calm ewes weaned 10% to 19% more lambs than the nervous ewes. We hypothesise that calm ewes could have a higher ovulation rate than nervous ewes and/or calm ewes could have a lower rate of embryo mortality than nervous ewes. We tested these hypotheses by comparing the ovulation rate and the rate of embryo mortality between the calm and nervous lines before and after synchronisation and artificial insemination. Merino ewes from the temperament selection lines (calm, n=100; nervous, n=100) were synchronised (early breeding season) for artificial insemination (day 0) (intravaginal sponges containing fluogestone acetate and eCG immediately after sponge withdrawal). On day-17 and 11 ovarian cyclicity and corpora lutea, and on days 30 and 74 pregnancies and embryos/foetuses were determined by ultrasound. Progesterone, insulin and leptin concentrations were determined in blood plasma samples from days 5, 12 and 17. Ovarian cyclicity before and after oestrus synchronisation did not differ between the lines, but ovulation rate did (day-17: calm 1.63; nervous 1.26; P<0.01; day 11: calm 1.83; nervous 1.57; P<0.05). Ovulation rate on day 11 in nervous ewes was higher than on day-17. Loss of embryos by day 30 was high (calm: 71/150; nervous: 68/130); but nervous ewes had a lower proportion (15/47) of multiple pregnancies compared with calm ewes (30/46; P<0.01). Reproductive loss between days 30 and 74 represented 7.3% of the overall loss. Temperament did not affect concentrations of progesterone, but nervous ewes had higher insulin (32.0 pmol/l±1.17 SEM; P=0.013) and lower leptin (1.18 μg/l±0.04 SEM; P=0.002) concentrations than calm ewes (insulin: 27.8 pmol/l±1.17 SEM; leptin: 1.35 μg/l±0.04 SEM). The differences in reproductive outcomes between the calm and nervous ewes were mainly due to a higher ovulation rate in calm ewes. We suggest that reproduction in nervous ewes is compromised by factors leading up to ovulation and conception, or the uterine environment during early pregnancy, that reflect differences in energy utilisation.  相似文献

Charcoal-treated bovine follicular fluid (bFF) given as four 5-ml subcutaneous injections to 13 Merino-Border Leicester ewes around the time of natural luteolysis suppressed (P<0.01) plasma levels of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) [from 1.08 ± 0.05 to 0.41 ± 0.03, mean ± s.e.m. of loge (ng+ 1) /mlplasma]. This was followed (P < 0.01) by hypersecretion or a rebound of FSH (to 1.46 ± 0.11) lasting 32 h in 10 of the treated ewes, and then by a further fall (to 0.73 ± 0.03, P < 0.05) before the surge (1.21 ± 0.07, P < 0.05) associated with the preovulatory surge of luteinizing hormone (LH).Plasma FSH at 56–72 h before the LH surge (i.e., at the time of the FSH rebound) was correlated with the subsequent ovulation rate (n=13, r= + 0.73, P < 0.01). Fewer ewes treated with four injections of 2 or 5 ml of bFF than control ewes (injected with bovine plasma) became pregnant (28 of 41 vs. 38 of 41, χ2 = 4.05, P < 0.05), although plasma progesterone was similar at Day 11 in treated and control ewes. It is concluded that plasma FSH during such a rebound influences the subsequent ovulation rate in sheep.  相似文献

Two experiments were performed on seasonally anovular Merino ewes to determine the intervals between time of introduction of rams, the preovulatory surge of LH and the first ovulation. Ovulation was determined by laparoscopy and LH was measured by solid phase radioimmunoassay. In Experiment 1 the interval between the introduction of rams and the beginning of the LH surge was 27 ± 4 h (mean ± S.E., range 6–52 h), and in Experiment 2 probit analysis shows that 50% of teased ewes ovulated within 41 h of being exposed to rams.  相似文献

Three experiments were conducted on anestrous ewes of Suffolk, Dorset, and Katahdin breeding to examine the potential value of GnRH to improve ovulation and pregnancy in response to introduction of rams. In Experiment 1, treatment with GnRH 2 d after treatment with progesterone (P4; 25 mg i.m.) at introduction of rams was compared to treatment with P4 alone at the time of introduction of rams. Treatment with GnRH did not increase percentages of ewes with a corpus luteum (CL) 14 d after introduction of rams, pregnant 32 d after treatment with PGF2α 14 d after introduction of rams, or percent of treated ewes lambing to all services. In Experiment 2, treatments with GnRH on day 2, 7, or both after introduction of rams were compared. Treatments did not differ in mean estrous response, percentages of ewes with a detectable CL or number of CL present on day 11, or mean pregnancy and lambing rates. Therefore, neither one nor two injections of GnRH at these times appeared to be effective to induce anestrous ewes to breed. In Experiment 3, treatments compared included GnRH 4 d before introduction of rams, GnRH 4 d before and 1 d after introduction of rams, ram introduction alone, and treatment with P4 (25 mg i.m.) at the time of introduction of rams. Percentages of ewes with concentrations of P4 greater than 1 ng/mL (indicating formation of CL had occurred) 7 d after ram introduction tended to be greater (P < 0.07) in ewes treated with GnRH or P4 than in control ewes treated with ram introduction alone. However, there was no difference in P4 concentrations between groups by day 11 or 12 after introduction of rams. Estrous response rates and percentages of ewes pregnant 95 d after PGF2α was administered (on day 12 after introduction of rams) tended to be greater (P = 0.08 and 0.06, respectively) in ewes treated with GnRH or P4 than in ewes exposed to rams only. There was no difference in response variables between ewes treated with GnRH 4 d before introduction of rams and ewes treated with GnRH 4 d before and 1 d after introduction of rams. In conclusion, treatment with GnRH 4 d before ram introduction showed promise as an alternative to treatment with P4 to improve the ovulatory response and reproductive performance of ewes introduced to rams during seasonal anestrus.  相似文献

Two experiments were conducted to examine the effects of ram exposure during the breeding season, in combination with progestagen treatment on estrus synchronization, fertility the LH surge and ovulation in ewes. Experiment 1 was subdivided into experiments 1a and 1b. In all experiments cross-bred ewes were treated with an intravaginal sponge for 12-14 days and three days before sponge withdrawal ewes were divided into control (no further treatment; n=191, 103 and 50 for experiments 1a, 1b and 2, respectively) or ram exposed (three mature rams per 50 ewes were introduced; +Ram; n=187, 99 and 49 for experiments 1a, 1b and 2, respectively). At sponge withdrawal ewes in Experiments 1a and 2 received 500 IU eCG and rams were removed from all the +Ram groups. In Experiments 1a and 1b, raddled, entire rams were introduced to ewes 48 h after sponge withdrawal. The timing of mating was recorded and ewes were maintained until lambing. In Experiment 2, estrus behavior was determined every 4 h and the time of the LH surge and ovulation were determined from a subset of 10 ewes per group. In Experiment 1a, less +Ram ewes were bred by 48 h after ram introduction (control 98% versus +Ram 89%, P<0.001) and in Experiments 1a and 1b 14% fewer (P<0.05) of the ewes bred in the first 3 h after ram introduction lambed to that service. In Experiment 1a, ram exposed ewes had a lower litter size than control ewes (1.93+/-0.06 versus 1.70+/-0.06 lambs per ewe; P<0.05). In Experiment 2, rams advanced (P<0.05) estrus, the LH surge and ovulation by 2-6 h compared with control ewes. We speculate that exposure of ewes to rams increased LH secretion and that this in turn increased follicle development and the production of oestradiol that led to a more rapid onset of estrus, the LH surge and ovulation compared to control ewes. Unexpectedly, ewes that were bred had lower fertility in the +Ram groups than control groups.  相似文献

Acid dissociation constants of aqueous cyclohexaamylose (6-Cy) and cycloheptaamylose (7-Cy) have been determined at 10–47 and 25–55°C, respectively, by pH potentiometry. Standard enthalpies and entropies of dissociation derived from the temperature dependences of these pKa's are ΔH0 = 8.4 ± 0.3 kcal mol?1, ΔS0 = ?28. ± 1 cal mol?10K?1 for 6-Cy and ΔH0 = 10.0 ± 0.1 kcal mol?1, ΔS0 = ?22.4 ±0.3 cal mol?10K?1 for 7-Cy. Intrinsic 13C nmr resonance displacements of anionic 6- and 7-Cy were measured at 30°C in 5% D2O (vv). These results indicate that the dissociation of 6- and 7-Cy involves both C2 and C3 20-hydroxyl groups. The thermodynamic and nmr parameters are discussed in terms of interglucosyl hydrogen bonding.  相似文献
