This paper investigated whether a single Hormonal Growth Promotant (HGP) adjustment in the Meat Standards Australia (MSA) beef grading model adequately predicted consumer eating quality of beef from cattle treated with different HGP formulations. This paper used consumer sensory data from two experiments. In experiment one, a total of 300 steers were allocated to three treatments; control (CON-100-F), 100 day oestradiol only HGP (OES-100-F), or a combination of trenbolone acetate and oestradiol HGP (TBA+OES-100-F) and finished in a feedlot for 73 days. In experiment two, a total of 200 steers were allocated either control or 400 day oestradiol only HGP treatments and finished on pasture for 389 days. Steers were slaughtered by finishing regime and carcass traits recorded. The anterior and posterior portions of the m. longissimus lumborum (LL-A and LL-P, respectively) and m. gluteus medius (GM) were collected and aged for five or 35 days. Grilled meat samples were scored for tenderness, juiciness, liking of flavour and overall acceptability using untrained consumers. Sensory scores were weighted by 0.3. 0.1, 0.3 and 0.3, respectively and summed to calculate a meat quality (MQ4) score. Residual MQ4 scores were calculated (observed MQ4 minus the predicted MQ4 score). The MSA model accounts for varied impacts of different HGPs on eating quality through a single HGP adjustment, and indirect impacts on carcass traits. For the majority of the HGP treatment samples, the residual MQ4 scores were not different to zero (5/18), or were positive i.e. the MSA model under-predicted these samples (11/18). Under-prediction was predominately for 35 day aged (7/9) and GM HGP treatment samples (6/6) and was considered low, with the majority less than ±5 MQ4 units. Under-prediction could be considered as advantageous through providing an additional safeguard to protect the interests of the consumers, rather than if the model had over-predicted and resulted in a more negative eating quality experience than expected. Some over-prediction was observed in the CON-100-F and TBA+OES-100-F treatment samples, which may be due to factors such as genetic variation and/or production environment. Minimal bias was observed when residual MQ4 was regressed against predicted MQ4 for the range of feeding regimes, muscles, ageing periods and treatment groups. This study showed that a single HGP adjustment in the MSA beef grading model, combined with the indirect effects of the different HGP formulations on carcass traits, provided a reasonable prediction of meat eating quality for different HGP formulations.  相似文献

The objectives were to determine if exposure of 12 mo old peri-puberal beef heifers to androgenized steers for 35 d hastened puberty, and if the response was related to the physical proximity between males and females and to heifer's initial body weight. Hereford x Aberdeen Angus heifers (n = 131), 12 mo old, were assigned to two treatments: 1) Exposed group, exposed to androgenized steers from Day 0 to Day 35 (E, n = 66); or 2) Control group, isolated from the steers and other males (C, n = 65). Cyclic activity was determined through estrous behavior detection (twice daily) and weekly ultrasound imaging to detect a CL. For each Exposed heifer, an association index (with males) was determined thrice weekly, based on the distance to androgenized steers every 10 min for 4 h (until cyclic activity began). Data were analyzed according to heifer's initial body weight, which was categorized into three ranges (low, medium, and high, designated LW, MW, and HW, respectively). The cumulative proportion of cyclic heifers was greater for Exposed than Control heifers as of Day 21. By the end of the exposure period, more Exposed than Control heifers had attained puberty (16/66 vs. 2/65; P < 0.001). Within the HW classification, more Exposed than Control heifers became puberal (11/20 vs. 2/21; P = 0.002). However, there were no differences between MW and LW in the proportions of heifers that reached puberty. Association index in Exposed heifers was greater in HW than in MW and LW (0.10 ± 0.09 vs. 0.06 ± 0.03 and 0.06 ± 0.04; P < 0.05), and in heifers that began cyclic activity compared to those that did not in the MW heifers (0.09 ± 0.05 vs. 0.05 ± 0.02; P = 0.01) and tended to be different in the HW treatment (0.12 ± 0.10 vs. 0.06 ± 0.02; P = 0.09). In conclusion, exposure of peri-puberal beef heifers to androgenized steers for 35 d advanced puberty in heavier heifers; an earlier response occurred in heifers with greater proximity to androgenized steers.  相似文献

Angus crossbred yearling steers (n = 168) were used to evaluate effects on performance and tympanic temperature (TT) of feeding additional potassium and sodium to steers exposed to excessive heat load (maximum daily ambient temperature exceeded 32°C for three consecutive days) during seasonal summer conditions. Steers were assigned one of four treatments: (1) control; (2) potassium supplemented (diet containing 2.10% KHCO3); (3) sodium supplemented (diet containing 1.10% NaCl); or (4) potassium and sodium supplemented (diet containing 2.10% KHCO3 and 1.10% NaCl). Overall, additional KHCO3 at the 2% level or NaCl at the 1% level did not improve performance or heat stress tolerance with these diet formulations. However, the addition of KHCO3 did enhance water intake. Independent of treatment effects, TT of cattle displaying high, moderate, or low levels of stress suggest that cattle that do not adequately cool down at night are prone to achieving greater body temperatures during a subsequent hot day. Cattle that are prone to get hot but can cool at night can keep average tympanic temperatures at or near those of cattle that tend to consistently maintain lower peak and mean body temperatures. In addition, during cooler and moderately hot periods, cattle change TT in a stair-step or incremental pattern, while under hot conditions, average TT of group-fed cattle moves in conjunction with ambient conditions, indicating that thermoregulatory mechanisms are at or near maximum physiological capacity.  相似文献

The effects of water temperature and bottom sediment type were studied on seed dormancy and germination of Zostera japonica Ascherson & Graebner in mesocosm. To test whether the germination rate is affected by cold stratification, seeds were divided into two groups: those exposed to cold (7 °C) and those left untreated (23–15 °C). Additionally, to mimic tidal variation, we used five tidal depth treatments for germination experiments in mesocosm. In mesocosm tanks, there was a wide range of daily fluctuating temperature at datum line +40 cm (17–25 °C), D.L. +20 cm (15 °C), and D.L. +0 cm (4–7 °C). In contrast, the maximum temperature range at D.L. −20 cm and −40 cm was narrow (5–6 °C). In the no cold stratification group, the maximum germination rates on sandy, muddy sand, and muddy bottom sediment were 3%, 11%, and 3%, respectively. In the cold stratification group (7 °C), the maximum germination rates were 40%, 53%, and 54%, respectively. First germination was observed 36 ± 0 days and 43 ± 6 days after the start of the germination experiment in the cold stratification group and the no cold stratification group, respectively. Bottom sediment type and tidal level did not affect seed germination in the both stratification group. Cold stratification strongly increases germination in all sediment types tested and under varying temperature regimes and at different tidal levels. We also tested whether seed germination is affected by daily fluctuations in temperature (10 °C constant, 15 °C/10 °C, and 20 °C/10 °C were compared) in an indoor incubator. Forty-two days after being sown, the maximum seedling emergence rates in the three groups were 3 ± 5%, 21 ± 7%, and 42 ± 26%, respectively. At 20 °C/10 °C, first germination was observed 11 days after the start of incubation, the germination rate rose sharply after 18 day of incubation, and then it leveled off after 32–42 days of incubation. In the no cold stratification group, seed germination was not observed in any of the three treatments. This finding suggests that the breaking of seed dormancy and germination of Z. japonica seeds are determined strongly by cold temperature and daily fluctuations of temperature, respectively.  相似文献

Poecilobdella viridis was used to study the variations in the biochemical parameters: body protein, glycogen and water, following warm (32.0° ± 0.5°C) and cold (10.0° ± 0.5°C) acclimation for 5, 10, 15 and 30 days. The percentage of glycogen decreased significantly (p < 0.05) during both warm and cold acclimation whereas the protein percentage increased significantly (p < 0.05). The percentage of water was significantly (p < 0.05). reduced during both acclimation processes. Ecophysiological significance of these alterations to leeches, in counteracting the ambient thermal fluxes, has been briefly discussed.  相似文献

The effect of thermal acclimation for 15 days on the gametogenesis of Poecilobdella viridis was studied. Leeches conditioned at laboratory temperature (25.5°–27.5°C), when warm acclimated (32.0° ± 0.5° C), displayed a significant (p < 0.05) increase in the percentage of oocytes having a diameter of 12.5 µ and 15.0 µ and in the percentage of fully mature sperm clusters over the controls, whereas cold acclimation (10.0° ± 0.5°C) did not induce significant (p > 0.05) changes in the oocytes and sperm clusters. Thus it is concluded that in P. viridis temperature is of paramount importance in initiating gametogenesis.  相似文献

The sexual behavior of 53 beef heifers and 66 beef steers was observed and recorded for 7 days following insertion of subcutaneous ear implants at 2 months of age. Thirty-five of the heifers were implanted with Synovex S (200 mg of progesterone and 20 mg of estradiol benzoate). Forty-four of the steers were implanted with Synovex H (200 mg of testosterone and 20 mg of estradiol benzoate). The remaining 18 heifers and 22 steers served as nonimplanted controls. Synovex S treatment increased the incidence of mounting (P < 0.005) and mounting receptivity (P < 0.005) of heifers, while Synovex H treatment had only slight effect, if any, on the mounting behavior (P < 0.25) and mounting receptivity (P < 0.25) of steers. Both steers and heifers mounted heifers more frequently than steers (P < 0.005). Heifers were mounted with similar frequencies by both heifers and steers (P < 0.90), while steers were mounted only by heifers (P < 0.15).  相似文献

The horn fly Haematobia irritans (Diptera: Muscidae) is a blood obligate ectoparasite of bovids that causes annual losses to the U.S. beef cattle industry of over US$1.75 billion. Climate warming, the anthropogenic dispersion of bovids and the cross‐breeding of beef cattle with other bovid species may facilitate novel horn fly–host interactions. In particular, hybridizing yaks [Bos grunniens (Artiodactyla: Bovidae)] with beef cows (Bos taurus) for heterosis and carcass improvements may increase the exposure of yak × beef hybrids to horn flies. The present paper reports on the collection of digital images of commingled beef heifers (n = 12) and F1 yak × beef hybrid bovids (heifers, n = 7; steers, n = 5) near Laramie, Wyoming (~ 2200 m a.s.l.) in 2018. The total numbers of horn flies on beef heifers and F1 yak × beef heifers [mean ± standard error (SE): 88 ± 13 and 70 ± 17, respectively] did not differ significantly; however, F1 yak × beef steers had greater total horn fly abundance (mean ± SE: 159 ± 39) than female bovids. The present report of this experiment is the first such report in the literature and suggests that F1 yak × beef bovids are as susceptible as cattle to horn fly parasitism. Therefore, similar monitoring and treatment practices should be adopted by veterinarians, entomologists and producers.  相似文献

Six Angus steers (319 ± 8.5 kg) were assigned to one of two groups (hot or cold exposure) of three steers each, and placed into two environmental chambers initially maintained at 16.5–18.8°C air temperature (T a). Cold chamber T a was lowered to 8.4°C, while T a within the hot chamber was increased to 32.7°C over a 24-h time period. Measurements included respiration rate, and air and body (rectal and skin) temperatures. Skin temperature was measured at shoulder and rump locations, with determination of sweat rate using a calibrated moisture sensor. Rectal temperature did not change in cold or hot chambers. However, respiration rate nearly doubled in the heat (P < 0.05), increasing when T a was above 24°C. Skin temperatures at the two locations were highly correlated (P < 0.05) with each other and with T a. In contrast, sweat rate showed differences at rump and shoulder sites. Sweat rate of the rump exhibited only a small increase with T a. However, sweat rate at the shoulder increased more than four-fold with increasing T a. Increased sweat rate in this region is supported by an earlier report of a higher density of sweat glands in the shoulder compared to rump regions. Sweat rate was correlated with several thermal measurements to determine the best predictor. Fourth-order polynomial expressions of short-term rectal and skin temperature responses to hot and cold exposures produced r values of 0.60, 0.84, and 0.98, respectively. These results suggest that thermal inputs other than just rectal or skin temperature drive the sweat response in cattle.  相似文献

Heat stress in feedlot cattle causes reduced performance, and in the most severe cases, death of the animals, thus causing the loss of millions of dollars in revenue to the cattle industry. A study was designed to evaluate dynamics of thermoregulation and feeding activities when feeder cattle were exposed to simulated heat waves, in comparison with repeated sinusoidal hot and thermoneutral environments. Nine beef steers were randomly assigned to an individual pen in one of three environmental chambers. Each chamber was subjected to each of three temperature regimes (Heatwave simulation from Rockport, Mo., 1995, Heatwave simulation from Columbia, Mo., 1999, and Controlled heat stress treatment of 32±7°C) for a period of 18 days, according to a Latin square treatment design, with a 10-day thermoneutral period (18±7°C) separating treatment periods. Respiration rate, core body temperature, heat production, feed intake, and feeding behavior were measured on each animal for the duration of the experiment. Differences were found in all treatments for all parameters except feeding behavior. It was shown that the two simulated heat waves elicited very different thermoregulatory responses. Based on these results the heat wave centered at Rockport, Mo. in 1995 was devastating because the animals were not acclimated to hot conditions, thus causing an acute response to heat stress. The responses of cattle to conditions at Columbia, Mo. showed some acclimation to heat prior to the peak stress days, and therefore a dampened response was seen. It appears the extreme conditions at Columbia, Mo., 1999 were made severe by environmental conditions not simulated during this study (low wind speed and intensive solar radiation). Overall, it was determined while a cyclic heat stress treatment is a representative model to test heat stress in cattle, further heat stress experiments should be conducted in an actual feedlot.Mention of trade names or commercial products in this article is solely for the purpose of providing specific information and does not imply recommendation or endorsement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. 9th Street Drive, West Palmetto, FL 34221, USA.  相似文献

The development times and survival of immature stages in rockwool and the fecundity and longevity of adult Scatella stagnalis were determined and stage-specific life-tables constructed for the species at constant 20 and 25 °C and at a fluctuating temperature (23–34 °C, mean 28.5 °C). Development time from egg to adult decreased with temperature, being 15.9±0.1 days at 20 °C, 11.4±0.1 days at 25 °C and 10.1±0.2 days at fluctuating temperature with mean of 28.5 °C. The lower threshold for egg-to-adult development was 6.4±2.7 °C and the total quantity of thermal energy required to complete development was 212.8±.0 °C. The proportion of females in two populations studied was 0.521. High temperature increased the mortality of pupae from 7% (20 °C) and 10% (25 °C) to 29% at 28.5 °C. At 25 °C, female longevity was 15.5±0.7 days and fecundity 315±19 eggs/female (20.4 eggs/female/day). Males lived for 22.0±1.1 days. At constant 25 °C, the net reproductive rate was 126.1 female eggs/female, generation time was 18.4 days, the doubling time of the population 5.3 days, and the intrinsic rate of increase (r m) 0.263 day–1.  相似文献

We have compared the influence of two different cold temperatures (below 10°C) for cardiac ischemia by measuring a large variety of hemodynamic and metabolic parameters during ischemia and reflow. Isolated isovolumic rat hearts were arrested with a preservation solution which was developed in our laboratory and then submitted to 5 h of cold storage (4°C, group I; and 7.5°C, group II) in the same solution. After an additional period of 50 min of ischemia at 15°C with intermittent cardioplegic infusion, hearts were reperfused for 60 min at 37°C. Function was assessed during the control period and reflow. High-energy phosphates and intracellular pH were followed by31P magnetic resonance spectroscopy. Analyses of metabolites and enzymes were performed by biochemical assays and HPLC in coronary effluents and in freeze-clamped hearts to assess cellular integrity. The energetic pool was better preserved at 4°C during ischemia (ATP at the end of 4°C ischemia, 59 ± 7% in group I vs 31 ± 5% in group II,P< 0.01) and reflow (P< 0.05) but membrane protection was higher when increasing the temperature to 7.5°C (reduction of creatine kinase leakage, 89 ± 16 IU/min in group I vs 51 ± 5 IU/min in group II,P< 0.05). As a result, functional recovery, represented by the rate pressure product, was higher in hearts preserved at 7.5°C (52 ± 6% recovery in group I vs 77 ± 7% in group II at the end of reflow,P< 0.05). Altogether, cold storage at 7.5°C provides a better protection than storage at 4°C.  相似文献

The influence of temperature on thereproduction and longevity of Podisusnigrispinus (Dallas) (Heteroptera:Pentatomidae) fed with Alabamaargillacea (Hübner) (Lepidoptera:Noctuidae) larvae was studied. This predatorwas reared at constant temperatures of 20, 23,25, 28, 30 and 33 ± 0.2 °C, all atrelative humidity of 60 ± 10%, and aphotoperiod of L:D 14:10. Fecundity of P.nigrispinus at the various temperatures rangedfrom 401.2 (33 °C) to 841.3 (28 °C) eggs/female. The preoviposition, oviposition peak, and declining ovipositionperiods of P. nigrispinus were affectedby temperature [preoviposition period: 4.0 (33 °C) to 13.2 (20 °C) days;duration of oviposition peak period: 9.0 (33 °C) to 33.0 (20 °C) days; andduration of declining oviposition period: 16.0(33 °C) to 46.0 (20 °C) days].Longevity of females and males of P.nigrispinus ranged from 28.4 (33 °C) to88.6 (20 °C) days, and from 42.7 (33 °C); to 114.3 (20 °C) days, respectively. These data are useful in relationto the development of population dynamicsmodels to underpin programmes of biologicalcontrol.  相似文献

The aim of this study was todetermine the biology and reproductivepotential of Euseius scutalis(Athias-Henriot) (Acari: Phytoseiidae) atvarious temperatures. These data are of valuein relation to mass rearing and the developmentof population dynamics models. The developmenttime, survival and fecundity of E.scutalis were determined at 20, 25 and30 ± 1 °C, 65 ± 10% RH and 16:8photoperiod. Total development times of E.scutalis were 6.7, 4.9 and 4.2 days at 20, 25and 30 ± 1 °C, respectively, using adiet of all life stages of the spider mite Panonychus citri (McGregor) (Acari:Tetranychidae). In general, preoviposition andpostoviposition periods of E. scutaliswere shortened as temperature increased, butthe oviposition period was longer at 25 °C than at 20 and 30 °C. Theshortest survival time of E. scutalis, at30 °C, was 10.1 days, followed by 23.7days and 28.6 days at 20 and 25 °C,respectively. Mated females laid on average1.1, 1.4 and 1.7 eggs per female per day and21.5, 39.7 and 17.1 eggs over their entire lifetime at 20, 25 and 30 °C, respectively. The sex ratios of E. scutalis were2.11/1, 2.24/1 and 2.11/1 female/male at 20, 25and 30 °C, respectively. The intrinsicrate of natural increase (r m) increasedwith rising temperatures from 0.166 at 20 °C to 0.295 females/female/day at 30 °C. The net reproductive rate (R 0)was highest at 25 °C (26.03females/female) and lowest at 30 °C(12.95 females/female). Mean generation time(T 0) was longest at 25 °C (17.50days) and shortest (9.53 days) at 30 °C.  相似文献

Summary To reveal the effect of photoperiod on insects under low temperatures, dormant females of Chrysopa carnea were exposed for 3 months (November–January) to cold (7°±2.5°C) and to long- or short-day conditions (18L:6D or 12L:12D). They were thereafter activated under short-day conditions at 25°C.The samples differed considerably in the incidence of ovipositing females, duration of pre- and post-oviposition period, and fecundity. All parameters evidenced a considerably higher reproductive activity of insects chilled under short-day conditions. It was thus confirmed that adults of C. carnea perceive photoperiod at cold. The action of short photoperiod at cold does not impair the subsequent oviposition; by contrast it promotes future reproduction, apparently also due to photoperiod changes. Although short-day photoperiod inhibits the activation at warm temperatures, it enables diapause development under cold temperatures.Dedicated to Prof. Dr. Hans Joachim Müller, Jena, on the occasion of his 65th birthday  相似文献

The peformance of the parasitoid Anagyrus kamali Moursi [Hymenoptera: Encyrtidae], as a function of host density, temperature, and photoperiod was investigated with the objective to optimize a mass-rearing system in the context of a biological control program. The number of hosts parasitized at densities varying from 2–100 hibiscus mealybug (HMB), Maconellicoccus hirsutus Green [Homoptera: Pseudococcidae], corresponded to a type II-III functional response in fixed-time conditions and a type III in variable-time conditions. Twenty-six percent of the oviposited eggs led to progeny emergence with a sex ratio of 0.49±0.102 (M/F), regardless of host density. Fecundity and oviposition period under six abiotic combinations (i.e., two temperatures (26±2 °C and 32±2 °C) and three photoperiods (L0:D24, L12:D12, L24:D0)) were measured. Lifetime fecundity and reproductive life were significantly affected by temperature and photoperiod conditions. Optimum female parasitoid lifetime fecundity was attained at 26±2 °C, L0:D24 with an average of 116.1±17.43 eggs. At 32±2 °C, L24:D0 and L12:D12, an average of 79.4±34.57 and 85.8±35.81 eggs were laid, respectively. Reproductive longevity was maximal at 26±2 °C, L0:D24 with 12±4.85 days of oviposition. Because the parasite A. kamali can be reared optimally without light, this may save tremendous energy costs.  相似文献

Immunoglobulin A1 (IgA1) from normal human serum is known to have O-linked sugar chains, sialylated Galβ1,3GalNAc, in the hinge portion. In order to reduce the microheterogenity of the sugar chain, the hinge glycopeptide prepared from IgA1 was sequentially treated with neuraminidase and β-galactosidase. The asialo-, agalacto-hinge glycopeptide (HGP-SG) composed of a 33-mer peptide (HP33) and N-acetylgalactosamine (GalNAc) residues was obtained. The HGP-SG was separated into three major peaks, A, B and C, by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Each glycopeptide fraction was further separated by capillary electrophoresis (CE). Peaks A, B and C with HPLC abundantly contained HP33 bearing five and six N-acetylgalactosamine residues (HGP33-5,6GN), HGP33-4,5GN and HGP33-3,4GN, respectively. Among these glycopeptide peaks, only the HGP33-5GN peak was partly split into two peaks based on the CE analysis – HGP33-5GN-α and -β. The glycopeptide, HGP25-5GN shortened by the thermolysin digest of HGP33-SG was also well separated into the α and β forms by CE analysis. No differences in their mass and peptide portion were observed between HGP25-5GN-α and -β. Therefore, the obtained result might indicate that HGP25-5GN-α was an isomer of HGP25-5GN-β differing in its stereospecific structure of the peptide portion and/or the attachment site of the GalNAc residue.  相似文献

Insects can increase their resistance to cold stress by prior exposure to non-lethal cold temperatures. Here, we investigated the supercooling capacity and survival of eggs, 3rd and 5th instar larvae, and pupae of Spodoptera exigua (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) during CA, and responses to various pre-treatment protocols, including constant temperatures, thermoperiods, and RCH, RHH, RCH + RHH and RHH + RCH combined with thermoperiods. Only acclimated eggs demonstrated a significant decrease in SCP, from −20.7 ± 0.3 to −22.9 ± 0.3 °C, among all experimental groups compared to non-acclimated stages. Survival increased by 17.5% for eggs, 40.0% and 13.3% for 3rd and 5th instar larvae, and by 20.0% for pupae after CA. Compared to controls, survival of eggs under the conditions of thermoperiod (5:15 °C), thermoperiod (5:15 °C) + RHH, and thermoperiod (5:15, 10:20, and 15:25 °C) + RCH significantly increased. In addition, survival of 3rd and 5th instar larvae and pupae increased under the conditions of thermoperiod (5:15 °C) and thermoperiod (5:15 °C) + RCH, possibly due to the induction of heat shock proteins or cryoprotectants. However, the pre-treatments of thermoperiod + RCH + RHH and thermoperiod + RHH + RCH did not significantly enhance survival of any developmental stage. These adaptive responses may allow S. exigua to enhance supercooling capacity and survival in response to seasonal or unexpected diurnal decreases in environmental temperatures.  相似文献

This study investigated the effect of dynamic exercise in a hot environment on muscle fibre conduction velocity (MFCV) of the knee extensors during a sustained isometric contraction. Seven trained male cyclists (mean [±SD], age, and were 35 ± 9.9 and 57.4 ± 6.6 ml kg−1 min−1) cycled for 50 min at 60% of peak power output in either: (1) 40 °C (HOT); or (2) 19 °C (NEUTRO); and (3) remained passive in 40 °C (PASS). Post-intervention a 100 s maximal sustained isometric contraction (SMC) of the knee extensors was performed. Rectal temperature increased (p < 0.01) for both HOT and NEUTRO with PASS unchanged and with HOT rising higher (p < 0.01) than NEUTRO (38.6 ± 0.4 vs. 37.6 ± 0.4 °C). Muscle temperature increased (p < 0.01) for all three conditions with HOT rising the highest (p < 0.01) (40.3 ± 0.5 vs. 38.3 ± 0.3 and 37.6 ± 1.3 °C for NEUTRO and PASS, respectively). Lactate showed higher accumulation (p < 0.01) for HOT than NEUTRO (6.9 ± 2.3 vs. 4.2 ± 2.1 mmol l−1). During SMC the torque, electromyography root mean squared (RMS) and MFCV all significantly (p < 0.01) declined. Only in HOT did MFCV decline significantly (p < 0.01) less than torque and RMS (9.9 ± 6.2% vs. 37.5 ± 17.8% and 37.6 ± 21.4%, respectively). In conclusion, during exercise induced hyperthermia, reduced motor unit recruitment as opposed to slower conducting properties of the muscle fibre appears to be responsible for the greater reduction in torque output.  相似文献
