The effects of fire retardants on the properties of particle boards made from cottonseed hulls were studied. The boards were treated with (1) 70% borax + 30% boric acid (FR(1)); (2) 60% borax + 25% boric acid + 15% ammonium dihydrogen orthophosphate (FR(2)) and were evaluated for duration of flaming, after-glow, charred area, charred length and per cent loss in weight, along with physico-mechanical properties. Fire retardant properties, water resistance and per cent thickness swelling improved, and bending strength decreased, with increase in concentration of fire retardants. Treatment (2) was found to be the better fire retardants since it served the dual purposes of flame and glow retardation.  相似文献

Concurrent observations of soil water potential and leaf stomata diffusion resistance were made on two, plots of wheat grown at Datun Agro-ecological Experimental Station in Beijing under two different soil water conditions. These data were further complemented by weather and physiological observation. In this paper, we mainly analysed the influence of soil water potential on the status of wheat leaf stomatal resistance. The results indicate that: (1) there is a obvious influence of soil water potential on the status of wheat leaf stomata under normal conditions and (2) there is a different upper and lower epidermis stomata of wheat leaf respond to the soil water potential. The lower epidermis stomata are more sensitive to soil water potential than upper epidermis one. (3) There is a linear relationship between the ratio of lower and upper epidermis stomata resistance and soil water potential in root layer, according to this we can diagnose the degree of wheat water deficit.  相似文献

本研究利用HG1和HG2两个化感水稻品种和稗草为材料,研究了化感水稻品种的叶、叶鞘、根组织的水浸提液对稗草幼苗的化感作用。结果表明:HG1不论是对稗草幼苗的株高还是对稗草幼苗的根都有极强的化感作用,而HG2只对稗草的根有极强的化感作用。在不同组织之间,叶和叶鞘的水浸提液对稗草的抑制作用显著大于根的水浸提液和对照。两个化感水稻对稗草幼苗根的抑制更强于对苗高的抑制。随着稗草密度的增加,稗草受抑程度减少,这可能与单株吸收化感物质的量减少有关。  相似文献

以桂华占和八桂香2个籼稻品种为材料,研究籼稻花后不同部位器官物质积累、运转与籽粒生长的动态特征及相互关系。结果表明:(1)叶、叶鞘、节间干物质流转存在一定差异,倒2叶鞘对籽粒的贡献超过倒3叶鞘和倒1叶鞘,倒3节间对籽粒的贡献超过倒2节间和倒1节间;(2)不同部位籽粒的灌浆速率和拐点粒重呈现UPG(上部籽粒)MPG(中部籽粒)BPG(下部籽粒)变化趋势,拐点时间和活跃灌浆时间及持续灌浆时间均呈现BPGMPGUPG变化规律,UPG启动早,灌浆速率大,BPG的灌浆速率小,灌浆时间滞后,籽粒粒重呈现UPGMPGBPG;(3)叶片、叶鞘及节间干物质运转速度和运转率都与籽粒起始灌浆势呈正相关,其中器官间与起始灌浆势的相关系数大小表现为节间叶鞘叶片,不同叶位间与起始灌浆势的相关系数大小表现为倒2叶倒3叶倒1叶,其中节间干物质运转对籽粒生长的作用大于叶鞘,叶片干物质运转与籽粒生长的相关性最小。倒1节鞘物质输出与BPG生长时间上同步,倒2节鞘与MPG生长同步,倒3节鞘与UPG生长同步。  相似文献

Emergent aquatic macrophytes growing in waterlogged anaerobic sediments overlain by deep water require particularly efficient ventilating systems. In Phragmites australis (Cav.) Trin. ex Steud, pressurized gas flows, generated by humidity-induced diffusion of air into leaf sheaths, enhance oxygen transport to below-ground parts and aid in the removal of respiratory CO2 and sediment-generated CO2 and methane. Although modelling and flow measurements have pointed to the probable involvement of all leaf sheaths in the flow process and the development of pressure gradients along the whole lengths of living culm and leaf sheaths, direct measurements of pressure gradients have never been reported. The aim of this study was to search for pressure gradient development in Phragmites culms and leaf sheaths and to determine their magnitudes and distribution. In addition, dynamic (with gas flow) and static pressures (no flow condition) and their relationship to flows, leaf sheath areas, and living-to-dead culm ratios were further investigated. Dynamic pressures (DeltaPd) recorded in the pith cavities of intact (non-excised) leafy culms, pneumatically isolated from the below-ground parts and venting through an artificial bore-hole near the base, revealed a curvilinear gradient of pressure 'asymptoting' towards the tips of the culms. Similarly, DeltaPd in upper and lower parts of leaf sheaths increased with distance from the base of the culm, with values in the upper parts always being greater. Curvilinear gradients of pressure were also found along pneumatically isolated individual leaf sheaths, but radial channels linking the leaf sheath aerenchyma with the pith cavity of the culm appeared to offer little resistance to flow. In keeping with predictions, static pressure differentials (DeltaPs) achieved in intact and excised culms and single leaf sheaths on intact culms proved to be relatively independent of leaf sheath area, whereas the potential for developing convective flows (pressure-driven flows) increased with increasing leaf sheath area. As measured by the ventilating coefficient [1-(DeltaPd/(DeltaPs)] the old dead (efflux) to living (influx) culm ratio of 1:12 compared with 1:25 raised ventilating efficiency from 31% to 71%, giving flows per tall culm into the rhizome system of c. 2.8 cm3 and 6.5 cm3 min-1, respectively. It was concluded that dynamic pressure gradients probably extend along the whole length of the leafy culms and leaf sheaths of Phragmites and that all leaf sheaths and all exposed points along the leaf sheaths can contribute convective gas-flow to the rhizome system.  相似文献

对碱胁迫 (0 - 175mmol/LNa2 CO3 )下星星草 (Puccinelliatenuiflora (Griseb .)Scribn .etMerr.)体内柠檬酸的积累规律及其相关胁变指标进行分析测定。实验结果证明 :积累柠檬酸是星星草对碱胁迫特有的生理反应。盐胁迫(0 - 4 0 0mmol/LNaCl)下 ,柠檬酸含量反而稍有下降。柠檬酸积累量随碱胁迫强度增大而增大 ,低胁迫强度时积累量上升缓慢 ,当胁迫强度大于 10 0mmol/LNa2 CO3 时 ,积累量明显上升。柠檬酸积累与胁迫时间之间呈直角曲线关系 ,一定胁迫强度下胁迫 4h后即可测出柠檬酸含量明显上升 ,约 4 8h后渐趋最大值。碱胁迫 14 4h后星星草各部位中柠檬酸含量从高到低的顺序依次是老叶、成熟叶、老叶鞘、幼叶鞘、幼茎、老茎和幼叶。成熟叶中柠檬酸随碱胁迫强度增大而逐渐上升 ,老叶和叶鞘中的柠檬酸在碱胁迫强度大于 12 5mmol/L后急剧上升 ,茎中柠檬酸含量无明显增高 ,幼叶中柠檬酸含量基本不变。实验证明 ,碱胁迫下积累的主要是柠檬酸 ,其他有机酸无明显变化。  相似文献

对抗旱性不同的3个绿豆突变体即172-3(高抗)、159-1(中抗)、145-1(弱抗)和原材料中绿2号(不抗)在水分胁迫情况下进行了形态解剖学研究,旨在探明其抗旱性不同的机理。研究结果表明:3个突变体与原材料的根、茎、叶各器官基本形态结构是一致的,材料间抗旱性差异主要表现在抗性结构指标上。抗旱性强的突变体根干重较大(4个材料依次为172-3>159-1>145-1>中绿2号),根部木质部导管的数目较多,依次为172-3>145-1>159-1>中绿2号。抗旱性强的突变体茎部的维管束排列较紧密,其中的导管数目较多,4个材料维管束分别为:23、25、26和18,导管数目相应为:251、236、207和157,而且抗性强的突变体茎皮层细胞较大,皮层较厚,中央髓的薄壁细胞中后含物单宁的含量较多。抗旱性突变体叶片中栅栏组织和海绵组织的比值较大,4个材料的值相应为:2.23,2.08,2.10和1.85,叶主脉的大小依次为172-3>159-1>145-1>中绿2号,同时抗性强突变体中叶主脉维管束中导管的半径较大。  相似文献

The accumulation of pisatin was induced non-specifically by elicitors prepared from the high molecular weight fraction (molecular weight: more than 10,000 daltons) of the spore germination fluid of three species of Mycosphaerella-plant pathogens in pea leaves with epidermis removed, regardless of the pathogenicity of the fungi to pea. Before the elicitation of pisatin synthesis, local resistance to infection by Mycosphaerella pinodes was induced by elicitors again non-specifically inpea leaves in which wax had been removed from the leaf surface. The substance responsible for local resistance could be extracted with ethylacetate from the elicitor-containing drop diffusate which was placed on pea leaves. The substance prevented the penetration of M. pinodes through heat-killed pea epidermis, but did not affect spore germination. The suppressor prepared from the low molecular weight fraction (molecular weight: less than 10,000 daltons) of the spore germination fluid of M.pinodes counteracted the ability of elicitors to induce both phases of resistance mechanisms.  相似文献

We examined how independent and interactive effects of CO2 concentrations, water supply and wind speed affect growth rates, biomass partitioning, water use efficiency, diffusive conductance and stomatal density of plants. To test the prediction that wind stress will be ameliorated by increased CO2 and/or by unrestricted water supply we grew Sinapis alba L. plants in controlled chambers under combinations of two levels of CO2 (350 ppmv, 700 ppmv), two water regimes and two wind speeds (0.3 ms–1, 3.7 ms–1). We harvested at ten different dates over a period of 60 days. A growth analysis was carried out to evaluate treatment effects on plant responses. Plants grown both in increased CO2 and in low wind conditions had significantly greater stem length, leaf area and dry weights of plant parts. Water supply significantly affected stem diameter, root weight and leaf area. CO2 enrichment significantly increased the rate of biomass accumulation and the relative ratio of biomass increase to leaf area expansion. High wind speed significantly reduced plant growth rates and the rate of leaf area expansion was reduced more than the rate of biomass accumulation. Regression analysis showed significant CO2 effects on the proportion of leaf and stem dry weight to total dry weight. A marked plant-age effect was dependent on water supply, wind speed and CO2 concentration. A reduced water supply significantly decreased the stomatal conductance, and water use efficiency significantly increased with a limited water supply, low wind and increased CO2. We found significant CO2 x wind effects for water diffusion resistance, adaxial number of stomata and water use efficiencies and significant wind x water effect for water use efficiency. In conclusion, wind stress was ameliorated by growing in unrestricted water but not by growing in increased CO2.  相似文献

The effect of (2RS, 3RS)-1-(4-Chlorophenyl)-4, 4-dimethyl-2-(1H-1,2,4 triazol-1-yl) pentan-3-ol (PP333) on the growth and transpiration of normal and root pruned colt rootstocks was measured. PP333 reduced plant height, stem diameter increment, leaf number, area and weight and stem weight. Root pruning reduced root, leaf and stem weight, and plant height in control plants. PP333 reduced both total water use and transpiration per unit leaf area and increased stomatal resistance. In control plants root pruning also reduced total water use and increased stomatal resistance. 15 days after the beginning of the experiment half the plants in all treatments were allowed to dry out. The effects of drought, i.e. reduced transpiration, growth and leaf water potentials, were smaller in PP333 treated than in control plants.  相似文献

以桂华占、八桂香为材料,在干湿交替灌溉、亏缺灌溉、淹水灌溉3种水分条件下,研究优质稻花后植株碳氮流转与籽粒生长及品质的相关性。结果表明:不同水分管理下,桂华占和八桂香花后碳氮流转与籽粒的生长间存在密切相关。主要表现在:(1)茎鞘和叶片干物质转运对籽粒干物质积累的贡献率为16.86%~25.68%,花后茎叶干物质运转速度和运转率与籽粒起始灌浆势呈显著甚至极显著正相关;籽粒最大灌浆速率、活跃灌浆期、持续灌浆时间与叶片干物质运转速度和运转率呈极显著正相关,与茎鞘干物质运转速度和运转率呈极显著负相关;(2)茎鞘碳同化物转运对籽粒的产量和淀粉产量的贡献率则为干湿交替灌溉>亏缺灌溉>淹水灌溉;但叶片碳同化物转运对籽粒的产量和淀粉产量的贡献率则为淹水灌溉>亏缺灌溉>干湿交替灌溉;茎叶可溶性糖积累量的减少和籽粒直链淀粉含量和积累量增加是同步的,且茎叶可溶性糖积累量快速递减期(花后3~12d)与直链淀粉含量和积累量快速递增期(花后6~12d)同步;(3)茎鞘和叶片氮素转运对籽粒氮素积累的贡献率为44.05%~117.66%,叶片总氮转运对籽粒氮素积累的贡献率大于茎鞘,茎鞘和叶片氮同化物对籽粒氮素的贡献率以淹水灌溉处理的最大,亏缺灌溉处理的次之,干湿交替灌溉处理的最小。  相似文献

The rice CM2088 mutant is the wilty phenotype and wilts markedly under well-watered sunny conditions. The leaf water potential and epidermal (mainly stomatal) conductance of CM2088 plants decreased significantly under conditions that induced intense transpiration, as compared with those of wild-type plants, revealing that the wilty phenotype was not the result of abnormal stomatal behavior but was due to an increase in resistance to water transport. The resistance to water transport was dramatically elevated in the node and the sheath and blade of a leaf of the mutant, but not in the root or stem. The diameter of xylem vessels in the large vascular bundles of the leaf sheath and the internode tended to be small, and the numbers of vessel elements with narrowed or scalariform perforation plates in the leaf blade and sheath were greater in the mutant than in the wild type. Most xylem vessels were occluded, with air bubbles in the leaf sheath of the mutant during the midday hours under intense transpiration conditions, while no bubbles were observed in plants that were barely transpiring, revealing that the significant increase in resistance to water transport was a result of the cavitation. The additive effects of cavitation in xylem vessels and the decreased diameter and deformed plates of vessel elements might be responsible for the wilty phenotype of CM2088.  相似文献

Plant resistance is a promising control method for the two most damaging insect pests of maize, Zea mays L.: the European corn borer, Ostrinia nubilalis (Hübner), and the western corn rootworm Diabrotica virgifera virgifera LeConte. Fifteen experimental lines of maize, derived from a backcross breeding program designed to introgress resistance to European corn borer from Peruvian maize into two U.S. Corn Belt adapted inbred lines, were evaluated for resistance to European corn borer and western corn rootwonrm. The experimental lines were in the second generation of backcrossing. All experimental lines were resistant to leaf blade feeding by European corn borer. These lines had low levels of 2,4-dihydroxy-7-methoxy-1,4-benzoxazin-3-one, a chemical commonly associated with leaf blade feeding resistance, indicating that this was not the mechanism of resistance to leaf blade feeding in these lines. Eleven experimental lines were resistant to leaf sheath and collar feeding by European corn borer. Useful sources of European corn borer ovipositional nonpreference and root feeding resistance to western corn rootworm were not identified. Some of the lines evaluated in this study may provide useful sources of resistance to both leaf blade and leaf sheath and collar feeding by European corn borer.  相似文献

We wished to determine the nature of differences in epidermalcell numbers and dimensions between leaves of different lengthin mutants of barley (Hordeum vulgare L. ‘Himalaya’).Three comparisons were made: leaf one (L1)vs. leaf four (L4);wild typevs. nine dwarf mutants and wild typevs. a slender mutant.L1 was shorter than L4, and for most lines this was associatedwith a change in epidermal cell number for the blade, and inboth cell number and length for the sheath. Compared to wildtype, the smaller leaves of dwarf plants generally had shorterand fewer cells in both blade and sheath. The blade of slenderplants was the same length (L1) or longer (L4) than wild type,while the sheath was longer than that of wild type for bothL1 and L4. Slender plants had longer but fewer cells than thewild type along the blade of L1, and shorter but more cellsfor the blade of L4. In the sheath, slender plants had longerand more (L1) or fewer (L4) cells than did the wild type. ForL1, variation in blade width amongst the barley lines was associatedwith a change in file width and file number. For L4, blade widthvaried only with file number, except for slender plants wherenarrow blades were associated with reduced file width. Hencethere was no consistent correlation between changes in cellsize or cell (or file) number with changes in leaf length orwidth. Differences depended on the leaf (L1vs. L4), leaf part(bladevs. sheath), and the nature of the mutation (dwarfvs.slender). Sheath blight, which is caused by Rhizoctonia solani, is a disease that majorly impacts rice production. A biocontrol agent used for control rice sheath blight must be sprayed on the stem at specific times during rice growth, a process that is labour-intensive and renders the antagonist vulnerable to environmental factors. In this study, Trichoderma asperellum T12 was used to produce preparation by solid-state fermentation using a surface-response method. Rice hull was selected as a carrier based on its ability to sustain the T12 floating in the water and protect T12 from ultraviolet irradiation. The production of a T12-based preparation required 32% wheat bran, 7% inoculum, 2.3 g kg?1 (NH4)2SO4 and 65% water content, with fermentation at 27.5°C for 30 days and agitation every six days. The preparation demonstrated 90% biocontrol efficacy and significantly (P > 0.05) increased the seed-set rate and 1000-grain weight as compared with the pathogen treatment. The population of Trichoderma on the surface of rice leaf sheath in the treatment applied with T12 preparation increased from 232 cfu (colony forming units) g?1 fw (fresh weight) to 436 cfu g?1 fw during rice growth stage, which was significantly (P > 0.05) higher than pathogen treatment. The population of R. solani on the leaf sheath increased from 41 cfu g?1 fw to 271 cfu g?1 fw in the pathogen treatment, while remained stable (P > 0.05) at level of 10–23 cfu g?1 fw in T12 preparation applied treatment. Biocontrol of sheath blight by the addition of the preparation to the soil is effective and decreases the costs of agro-industrial waste disposal.  相似文献

Rice plants (IR26 and Latisail) obtained at near heading stage from a wetland field were transferred to water culture and exposed to 15N2 in a gas-tight growth chamber for 7 days to measure N2-fixing activities associated with the rice. The activities measured varied from 6.5 to 11.6 μmol of N2 fixed per hill per day. The outer leaf sheath had about 2.5 times higher N2-fixing activities per unit weight than the root. Slight activities were also found in the basal node and inner leaf sheath. Wrapping basal parts of the stem with aluminum foil did not decrease the activities of N2 fixation in these parts. Thus, the outer leaf sheath as well as the root are N2-fixing sites in rice plants. N2 fixation found in above-ground parts is not due to photoautotrophic organisms. Less than 10% of the fixed nitrogen was translocated from the fixing sites to the leaf blades and the young panicles.  相似文献

研究褐飞虱NilaparvatalugensStl在香稻上的危害与产卵特征,结果表明香稻田中褐飞虱的自然种群密度基数远高于非香型稻。从7月22日至8月31日香稻田中褐飞虱的自然种群密度一直增长,在武香988和鄂香1号田间的若虫分别从7月22日的7头丛和3头丛上升至8月31日的126头丛和73头丛。香型稻田间的褐飞虱的自然种群密度增长慢于非香型稻田间。香稻与非香稻田间褐飞虱成虫出现的高峰日相差不大。香稻田中褐飞虱产卵株率高于非香型稻田,其中最高的为鄂香1号,达到74.27%。香稻田间株平均产卵块数几乎为非香型稻上的2倍,但是香稻上的卵死亡率(鄂香1号为39.24%)显著高于非香型稻上的(鄂中5号为27.58%,两优培九为27.21%),且产卵部位有一定差异。鄂香1号第Ⅲ叶鞘上卵块最多,占总数的60.98%,武香988的第Ⅱ和第Ⅳ叶鞘上产卵较多,第Ⅰ叶鞘上没有稻飞虱产卵。非香型稻鄂中5号上产卵最多的是第Ⅳ叶鞘,第Ⅰ和第Ⅱ叶鞘上没有褐飞虱产卵。两优培九除第Ⅰ和第Ⅴ叶鞘上没有褐飞虱产卵外,第Ⅱ、第Ⅲ和第Ⅳ叶鞘上均有褐飞虱产卵,而且卵量差异不大。  相似文献

New composite boards with low-thermal conductivity produced from a mixture of solid wastes from tissue paper manufacturing (solid waste TPM) and corn peel have been developed. The effects of solid waste TPM/corn peel ratio on the properties of the boards were investigated and the possibility of using recycled polystyrene packaging foam as a laminating agent to improve the quality of the boards was also evaluated. Our results show that the density of the particleboards decrease with increasing the amount of corn peel added in the mixture, leading to a decrease in thermal conductivity of the final product. In contrary, larger amount of solid waste TPM added in the mixture produced stronger boards. The lamination of recycled polystyrene on the surface of particleboards improves the mechanical properties and reduces the thickness swelling of the boards. The best improvement in mechanical properties and swelling resistance could be achieved when 15% polystyrene (w/v) was coated on the surface of the boards.  相似文献

Spraying a 16 meter tall stand of red pine (Pinus resinosa Ait.) with 10−3 m phenylmercuric acetate in early June and again in mid-July resulted in the water use between June 1 and October 25 being reduced by almost 10%. It was demonstrated that this was caused by an increase in the leaf resistance with partial stomatal closure, which reduced absolute water potential in the needles by 1 to 3 bars in the middle of the day. Smaller demands were made upon the reserves of water in the bole of the tree as shown by the smaller bole contraction in the treated trees. Although needle length and dry weight were unaffected by the spray, radial growth was reduced by approximately 32%. The dependence of leaf resistance on light intensity is shown, and its independence from leaf water potential discussed.  相似文献
