The Aloysia gratissima complex is a group of 22 accepted, specific and infraspecific taxa, the boundaries of which are controversial. Various different authors have chosen different characters as criteria for delimiting taxa in this complex, which has been reflected in the variable number of accepted species. To resolve the taxonomy of this group, a modified population aggregation analysis, based on the phylogenetic species concept, was employed. As a result, the Aloysia gratissima complex is here circumscribed as compromising only four species, A. decipiens, A. gratissima s.s., A. oblanceolata and A. schulziana. These species are sustained by a different combination of four characters, of the 16 qualitative attributes analysed. A new approach based on cluster analysis is proposed here delimiting varieties. As a consequence two varieties, supported by significant differences in quantitative characters, are recognized here: A. gratissima var. gratissima and A. gratissima var. sellowii. A complete taxonomic revision of the accepted taxa is presented and six new synonyms are proposed. A key, illustrations and geographical distribution maps are included. © 2015 The Linnean Society of London, Botanical Journal of the Linnean Society, 2016, 180 , 193–212.  相似文献

Eulmur fulvus , a complex comprising six subspecies, is a classic example of species status conferred through evolutionary taxonomy. We used the phylogcnctic species concept as an alternative method to the biological species concept for determining historic patterns of gene flow between the various E. julvus subspecies and for conferring species status. In this paper, we used population aggregation analysis to determine the proper species partitions and cladistic analysis to reconstruct the evolutionary relationships of the different populations in the Eulemur fulvus complex. We sequenced three mtDNA gene regions (d-loop, 12S, and cyt-b) and one nuclear region, casein kinase, for a total of 1247 bases. Through population aggregation analysis, we determined that the E. fulvus complex should be split into three units; one unit supported by six diagnostic sites comprising E.f. albocollans , one unit supported by three diagnostic sites comprising E.f. collaris , and one unit supported by two diagnostic sites comprising the four other subspecies. Although all six subspecies in the E. julvus complex share a common ancestor, we found in our cladistic analysis that E. J. collaris and E. j. albocollans share a common ancestor that more recently split off from the common ancestor of the four other E. fulvus subspecies.  相似文献

A new species of centipede, Scolopocryptops piauhyensis sp. n., is described from Piauí State, northeastern Brazil. It is the only species in this genus known to occur in the ‘caatinga’ biome. The new species is related to S. inversus (Chamberlin, 1921) and S. ferrugineus (Linné, 1762) but differs primarily in the short, high dental plates of the coxosternum, the wider ultimate sternite, and the smaller pore field on the coxopleuron of the ultimate segment.  相似文献

In the past two decades, Malpighiaceae has gone through unprecedented changes in classification due to molecular phylogenetic studies. However, some generic adjustments are still needed to make all genera monophyletic. In this study, we propose the new genus Glicophyllum to accommodate the species of Tetrapterys pro parte, a well‐supported lineage recovered by us and by the most recent phylogenetic studies of the family. Additionally, we propose the synonymy of Aenigmatanthera under Niedenzuella to finally render the latter monophyletic. Morphological characters related to inflorescence architecture, bract and bracteole size, presence of glands on the bracts and bracteoles, style size and thickness, and ratio length among superior and anterior lateral wings of mericarps are important for circumscribing these lineages.  相似文献

Bee flies (Bombyliidae) were recorded as parasitoids of larval tiger beetles at two rain forest localities (near São Paulo and Manaus) in Brazil. Anthrax gideon was reared from larvae of Oxycheila tristis. Up to 33 parasitoid larvae were found on a single tiger beetle host. Pupation of the bee fly took place in late August and the pupal stage lasted 14 days. The host digs horizontal burrows in contrast to the great majority of cicindelids, as does Pseudoxycheila tarsalis, the other known host of A. gideon. Two pupae of another undetermined Anthrax species were reared from larvae of Pentacomia ventralis in Central Amazonia. Pupation of this Anthrax sp. took place in October, the period of lowest host abundance.  相似文献

Tylopilus nigripes sp. nov. is described from an Atlantic Forest fragment in the state of Paraíba, Northeast Brazil. The new species is characterized by the small basidioma with a brownish pileus and blackish stipe, rufescent hymenophore turning blackish during handling, and whitish non-bluing context that changes fuscous to pale vinaceous upon exposure. Microscopically, the size and shape of the basidiospores, the boletoid tube trama, the pileipellis that is a trichodermial palisade, and the frequently septate cheilocystidia are also diagnostic features of the new species.  相似文献

A recent expedition to headwaters of the Rio Pandeiros, a left‐bank tributary of the Rio São Francisco revealed the presence of a fourth species of Hisonotus from that basin. Hisonotus devidei sp. nov. differs from congeners by the presence of conspicuous dark blotches of distinct shapes irregularly arranged along lateral and dorsal surfaces of the body and scattered throughout all fins, by possessing small plates in lateral portions of the abdomen and adjacent areas between pelvic fins without development of dermal plates and by morphometric ratios. The putative phylogenetic placement of the new species is discussed based on morphological comparisons with species of related Hypoptopomatinae genera and the Hisonotus species diversity within the Rio São Francisco Basin is compared with that of adjacent basins.  相似文献

As part of an ongoing revision of the family Gonyleptidae, we have identified many species that are synonyms of previously described species or misplaced in this family. This article summarizes these findings, adding previously unavailable information or correcting imprecise observations to justify the presented taxonomic changes. The following new familial or subfamilial assignments are proposed: Nemastygnus Roewer, 1929 and Taulisa Roewer, 1956 are transferred to Agoristenidae, Agoristeninae; Napostygnus Roewer, 1929 to Cranaidae; Ceropachylinus peruvianus Roewer, 1956 and Pirunipygus Roewer, 1936 are transferred to Gonyleptidae, Ampycinae; Gyndesops Roewer, 1943, Haversia Roewer, 1913 and Oxapampeus Roewer, 1963 are transferred to Gonyleptidae, Pachylinae. The following generic synonymies are proposed for the family Gonyleptidae: Acanthogonyleptes Mello-Leitão, 1922 = Centroleptes Roewer, 1943; Acrographinotus Roewer, 1929 = Unduavius Roewer, 1929; Gonyleptes Kirby, 1819 = Collonychium Bertkau, 1880; Mischonyx Bertkau, 1880 = Eugonyleptes Roewer, 1913 and Gonazula Roewer, 1930; Parampheres Roewer, 1913 = Metapachyloides Roewer, 1917; Pseudopucrolia Roewer, 1912 = Meteusarcus Roewer, 1913; Haversia Roewer, 1913 = Hoggellula Roewer, 1930. A new plant species from Chapada Diamantina, Bahia, Brazil, Aniba subbullata, is described and illustrated. Its putative relationships within the genus are discussed, and an identification key is provided for distinguishing it from previously known species in that state. We also provide illustrations and comments on micromorphological features of leaves of this new species, particularly of the abaxial surface, comparing them to those of congeneric species and showing that they are useful for its recognition.  相似文献

A new species of Harmonicon F. O. Pickard-Cambridge, 1896 (Araneae, Dipluridae) is described, from a medium-sized lateritic cave in Parauapebas, Pará, Brazil. The male holotype and only specimen known of H. cerberus sp. n. was found near the entrance of Pequiá cave. This taxon is the fourth species described and the southernmost record for the genus. The new species displays some troglomorphic characteristics, such as reduction and merging of the posterior median and both pairs of lateral eyes and pale yellow to light brown coloration. Both characters are diagnostic when compared to the normal separated eyes and reddish to dark brown of other Harmonicon species. Other diagnostic characteristics are isolated, long, rigid setae distal to the lyra and the shape of the copulatory bulb. This is the second troglomorphic mygalomorph species from Brazil and the first from the Amazonian region.  相似文献
