Tissue concentrations of 12 mineral elements (Al, Ca, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Mn, amino-N, Na, P, Si, and Zn) were measured in an autoparasitic mistletoe (Phoradendron californicum), the parasitic mistletoe on which it was growing (Phoradendron californicum), and the host tree (Cercidium floridum). Mineral concentrations in the autoparasite were typically 1.1–1.3 times higher than in the parasite. Mineral concentrations of all elements except Ca, Fe, Mg, Mn, and Si were higher in the parasitic mistletoe than its host. Mineral concentration differences are discussed relative to accumulation via the transpiration stream and translocation within the host via the phloem.  相似文献

珍稀濒危植物矮牡丹体内矿质元素的研究   总被引:8,自引:0,他引:8  
采用原子吸收分光光度法测定了矮牡丹体内的10种矿质元素,即K、Mg、Mn、Fe、Ni、Zn、Cu、Cd、Cr、Pb。分析了矿质元素在矮牡丹体内的分布规律及矮牡丹对各种元素的富集能力。结果表明:在不同器官中的矿质元素含量有显著差异, K、Mg、Mn、Ni、Cd、Cr、Pb以叶中为高, Fe、Zn、Cu分别以根、茎、叶柄中含量最高;大多数元素在叶柄中含量最低。矮牡丹对K、Mg、Mn、Fe、Zn有较强的吸收富集能力,一般叶的富集系数较其它器官为高。元素间相关分析表明:Zn、Cd、Cr、Pb、Mn、Fe、Ni、Cu之间有显著的相关性, K、Mg之间的相关性显著。此外,土壤与植物体内元素含量表现出显著的相关性。  相似文献

The effect of varied phosphorus (10 and 250 mmol P m–3potassium (50 and 2010 mmol K m–3) and magnesium (20 and1000 mmol Mg m–3 supply on sucrose, reducing sugars, aminoacids, P, K, and Mg in phloem exudate was studied in bean (Phaseolusvulgaris L.) plants over a 12 d growth period in nutrient solution.Phloem exudates were collected from detached primary leavesusing the EDTA-promoted exudation technique. Compared with controlnutrient-sufficient plants, sucrose export in the phloem exudatewas drastically decreased by K deficiency and, particularly,by Mg deficiency, whereas P deficiency either had no effector stimulated sucrose export. In Mg-deficient plants the rateof sucrose export was decreased to 10–20% of the controlplants. There was a close Inverse relationship between phloemexport and leaf concentration of sucrose: higher leaf concentrationsof sucrose were accompanied by lower phloem export of sucrose.In contrast to sucrose, reducing sugars in the exudates werevery low and not affected by P, K and Mg deficiency. The phloemexport of amino acids was strongly depressed by Mg deficiency,but only slightly by P and K deficiency. Resupplying Mg to Mg-deficientplants for 12 h during the dark or light periods rapidly stimulatedsucrose export. After resup ply of Mg for 24 h and 48 h therate of sucrose export was comparable with the rate in the controlplants. The results demonstrate a key role for Mg in phloem loadingand export of photosynthates from source leaves, especiallysucrose. Inhibition of root growth and development of visualsymptoms of chlorosis in Mg-deficient plants are suggested asconsequences of Impaired phloem loading. In agreement with thisin P-deficient plants where phloem loading was not impaired,chlorosis was absent and root growth was maintained at a highlevel. Like some of the Mediterranean members of the genus Lupinus, the New World lupin, Lupinus mutabilis (Sweet; cv. Inti), exhibits prolonged (20-40 min) exudation of phloem sap from incisions made in stems, in the raceme and at the tips and sutures of developing fruits. Just prior to or immediately following abscission of flowers of L. mutabilis there was also spontaneous exudation from the proximal face of the abscission zone at the base of the pedicel. This is not a recorded feature of other lupins. Analysis of solutes in this exudate was consistent with its having been derived directly from phloem. The major solutes were sucrose (0.940.04 M), amino acids (18811 mM, 45% as asparagine and 15% as glutamine), K ion (52 mM), and total phosphorus (17 mM). Microscopic examination of the proximal face of the pedicel abscission zone at or following abscission showed little or no breakage of the cells at the zone. The major solutes of spontaneous exudate were similar to those in exudates collected from incisions made in the supporting raceme, upper stem and branches, at the tips and sutures of developing fruits and in the mid- and basal stem regions. However, there were significant compositional differences among minor constituents. The spontaneous exudate had a higher level of Ca ion and, consequently, a narrower Mg/Ca ratio (2.8) than exudate from incisions in the adjacent raceme (9.3) or fruits (15.7). There were also higher concentrations of trace elements (Mn, Zn and Cu) but lower concentrations (3 ng m-1) of cytokinins compared to exudates collected from incisions (20 ng ml-1). The relative contents of K and Na ions in exudates from incisions at different sites on the plant showed evidence of selective phloem loading and downward translocation of Na ion and selective loading and upward translocation of K ion.  相似文献

The levels of, zinc, copper, Fe, Zn, Cu, Mn, Mg, K, Na, and Cl and the activity of carbonic anhydrase were determined in lambs with pneumonia. A significant decrease of p<0.01 level in Zn concentration, in Cu level (p<0.001) and significant increases in K and Na levels (p<0.05) and of the Cu/Zn ratio (p<0.001) were observed in the study group. The carbonic anhydrase activity was decreased in the study group, but the decrease was not statistically significant (p>0.05). Also, nonsignificant decreases of Fe, Mg, and Cl and increase of the Mn concentration were also observed in the lambs with pneumonia (p>0.05). Our results suggest that the significant element changes reported here and the Cu/Zn ratio, but not the activity of carbonic anhydrase, can be used as indicators of pneumococcal infection.  相似文献

Summary Concentration of N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S in summer groundnut crop was higher than in kharif while Zn, Fe, Mn and Cu contents were higher in summer crop. Kernel's N, P and Zn; Leaflet's Ca and Mn; Stem's K and Fe; Root's S and Cu and Petiole's Mg contents were highest. Shell's N, P, K, Mg, S, Zn and Cu; Kernel's Ca, Fe and Mn contents were the least. N, P, K, S, Zn and Cu concentrations decreased linearly as the crop grew. Ca, Mg, Fe and Mn concentrations did not display any distinct pattern. Ca concentration was positively correlated with pod yield in both the seasons.  相似文献

The influence of Fe nutrition on the distribution of the heavy metals Fe, Mn, Zn, and Cu and of the heavy metal chelators nicotianamine (NA) and citrate in 6 different shoot and 3 different root parts and in xylem exudate of a NA-containing tomato wild type and its NA-less mutant was investigated. Under the same Fe supply the mutant showed higher Fe, Mn, and Zn concentrations in all organs investigated, with exception of the shoot apex. The Cu concentration in the mutant was only in root parts higher than in the wild type but much lower in leaves. Analyses of xylem exudate showed that Fe, Mn, and Zn were readily translocated by both genotypes from the roots to the shoot at all levels of Fe supply, whereas in the absence of NA, Cu was only poorly transported. Citrate as main Fe chelator in the xylem was present in high concentrations in xylem exudate of the wild type under low Fe supply but in the mutant also at 10 M FeEDTA. NA occurred in xylem exudate of the wild type in concentrations high enough to chelate heavy metal ions.Generally, high Fe supply induced a decrease of Mn, Cu, and Zn concentrations in all organs of the wild type whereas high concentrations were observed in most cases under Fe deficiency. A positive correlation between Fe supply and NA concentration existed only in the shoot apex and in the xylem exudate of wild type plants. From the correlation between Cu and NA translocation and from the high stability constant of the NA-Cu-complex (log K=18.6) it is concluded that NA is a chelator for Cu in the xylem, whereas the translocation of Fe, Mn, and Zn is independent of NA.  相似文献

The nutrition of developing fruits of Ricinus communis was studiednear Perth, Western Australia, where the species grows as aweed on poor sandy soil. Fruits required 60 days to mature anddehydration of the capsule began 20 days before the seeds ripened.Mature seeds accumulated 49 per cent of the fruit dry matterand over 80 per cent of its P, Zn and Cu, 50–80 per centof its Mg, N, Fe and Mn, 41–46 per cent of its S and Caand 11–21 per cent of its K and Na. Losses of nutrientsfrom capsules during fruit ripening were: Zn, 73 per cent, P,42 per cent, Cu, 23 per cent and Mn, 8 per cent. Dry matter,N, K, S, Ca, Mg, Na and Fe were not withdrawn from capsules.Apparent retranslocation from capsules could have provided from6–28 per cent of the Zn, Mn, P and Cu in mature seeds.Seeds from plants on poor sandy soil were small but had adequatelevels of nutrients when compared with those from plants growingon a fertile loam. Concentrations of all nutrients except P were higher in youngcapsules than in young seeds, but levels of N, P, Mg, Fe, Znand Cu were higher in mature seeds than in mature capsules.The intake of most nutrients by fruits was out of phase withdry matter accumulation, especially in capsules, and the elementsappeared to accumulate in fruit parts independently of eachother. Glutamine accounted for over 85 per cent of the amino-Nin phloem sap destined for fruits. Potassium made up over 90per cent of the inorganic cations in phloem exudate. Of theminor elements in the exudate, Fe was present at highest concentrationand Cu at the lowest. The results showed that retranslocation from the capsule madea very small contribution to the nutrition of seeds. It is suggestedthat R. communis would require a sustained supply of soil nutrientsto ensure maximum seed yield, partly due to the restricted retranslocationof most nutrients from capsules. 以盆栽2年生富士苹果树(砧木为平邑甜茶M.hupehensisReld)为试材,研究了盐胁迫对苹果矿质营养平衡的影响.结果表明,在盐胁迫下,苹果各器官不同时期的单位干样中Ca、Mg、Fe和Zn含量的平均值没有明显变化,但各元素与Na的比值明显下降,特别是在高盐(3‰NaCl)胁迫下下降更为明显,从而破坏了树体内元素平衡.在无盐和盐胁迫下,苹果各器官中Ca含量的顺序为主干韧皮部>叶片、新梢>根>主干木质部;Mg含量为新梢、根>主干木质部、主干韧皮部、叶片;Fe含量为根>叶片>主干韧皮部、新梢>主干木质部;Zn含量为新梢>叶片>根、主干韧皮部>主干木质部.与对照相比,器官中各元素含量在胁迫期间表现出不同程度的波动性.  相似文献

Brucellosis is a zoonotic disease that is encountered in sheep rather frequently. In this study, 100 sheep diagnosed with brucellosis that had aborts and 40 healthy sheep were used as materials. Analyses for Cu, Zn, Fe, Cr, Ca, Mg, and K were performed with the atomic absorption spectrophotometric method on blood collected from vena jugularis of all the sheep and rheumatoid factor levels were determined by the nephelometry method. Although it was found that Cu, Ca, and rheumatoid factor values in the sera of the sheep with brucellosis were high when compared to the control group (p<0.001, p<0.05, p<0.001, respectively), their serum Zn values were low (p<0.05). No significant changes in serum Cr, Fe, K, and Mg levels were found.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to determine serum Cu, Zn, Mn, K, and Mg levels before and during pregnancy and during the lactation period of sheep and cattle and to determine the relationships between periods. For this purpose, blood samples of 14 healthy, pregnant Brown Swiss cows fed under normal condition and 36 Karakaş (İvesi × Akkaraman) sheep were used. Blood samples were analyzed using an atomic absorption spectrophotometer. There were significant differences between before pregnancy and during pregnancy, and during pregnancy and the lactation period for serum Zn concentration; also before pregnancy and during pregnancy, and before pregnancy and the lactation period for serum K concentration in cows (p<0.05). There were significant differences between before pregnancy and the lactation period for serum Cu concentration, and before pregnancy and during pregnancy for serum K concentration; also pregnancy and the lactation period for serum Mg concentration in sheep (p<0.05).  相似文献

In higher plants, the supply of metals such as Zn and Fe via phloem is important for the growth and physiology of young organs. However, little information is available on the speciation (chemical forms) of these metals in the phloem fluids. Because the pH of phloem fluids is slightly alkaline and the concentration of phosphate, which may bind to metals, is high, Zn and Fe in phloem fluids could be precipitated if these metals do not form complexes with some ligand compounds. In the present experiment, we examined the chemical forms of Zn and Fe in phloem sap collected from rice (Oryza sativa L.) by separating the phloem sap using size-exclusion and anion-exchange chromatography, and identifying the contents using electrospray ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry. The low molecular weight chemical forms of Zn and Fe were identified as Zn-nicotianamine and Fe(III)-2'-deoxymugineic acid complexes, respectively. 以秋华柳为试验材料,采用水培试验方式,设置CK(0 mg·L-1 Cd2+)、T1(2 mg·L-1 Cd2+)、T2(10 mg·L-1Cd2+)、T3(20 mg·L-1Cd2+)、T4(50 mg·L-1Cd2+)5种镉处理浓度,通过对秋华柳根系活力,叶、韧皮部、木质部和根部的镉含量,以及Ca、Mg、Mn、Zn、Fe 5种常规金属元素含量的测定,研究了不同浓度镉胁迫下秋华柳根系活力及Ca、Mg、Mn、Zn、Fe 等金属元素含量的变化.结果表明:1)秋华柳根系活力随着镉处理浓度的增加而逐渐下降,当镉浓度≥10 mg·L-1时,根系活力与对照相比显著下降.2)随着镉处理浓度的增加,秋华柳叶中Fe的积累受到显著抑制;韧皮部Mg、Mn、Fe的积累受到显著抑制;木质部Ca、Mg、Mn、Zn、Fe 等5种常规金属元素的积累无显著性差异;根部5种常规金属元素的吸收和积累受到显著抑制,表现出镉对其他金属元素积累的拮抗作用.其中,50 mg·L-1的镉胁迫下,根部Zn的积累量降幅最大,受Cd的抑制最明显.3)各处理组Fe的转移系数与对照相比均无显著性差异;Ca、Mg、Mn、Zn的转移系数均高于对照,且在一定的镉处理水平上差异显著.4)镉胁迫下,秋华柳根部镉的积累量与Ca的积累量呈显著负相关,与其他4种常规金属元素的积累量呈极显著负相关,说明根部常规金属元素的变化可作为秋华柳受镉毒害程度的指示之一.  相似文献

The effects of simultaneous changes of calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, and zinc concentrations were evaluated in normal human T and B lymphocytes, cultured in cation-depleted media. Optimal concentrations for thymidine incorporation (TI) in both cell populations were Fe and Zn 15 μM and Cu 5 μM; for t cells Ca 2 mM and Mg 4 mM; for B cells Ca 4 mM and Mg 6 mM. TI decreased with increasing molarity of cations and the decrease was particularly apparent with Cu. Minimal amounts of Ca and Mg (0.5 mM) were necessary for growth, even in presence of optimal concentrations of Fe, Cu, and Zn. Fe and Cu showed synergistic stimulatory effects at low concentrations and synergistic inhibitory effects at high concentrations. Antagonism between Fe and Zn, Cu and Zn, and Ca and Zn was also demonstrated. CD4/CD8 increased with PHA stimulation in presence of Zn, and decreased with ConA stimulation in presence of Zn or Fe. The results demonstrate: (1) the relationship and interdependence of Fe, Cu, and Zn concentrations in modulating the growth of normal lymphocytes; (2) the stimulatory effects of Fe on B cells and Zn on CD8 positive cells; (3) the inhibitory effect of Cu at concentrations lower than those of Fe and Zn; (4) the requirement of Ca and Mg in certain concentration and ratio for the action of the other cations; and (5) the Ca and Mg requirement for the growth of B cells higher than T cells.  相似文献

Summary Information is limited on soil contamination of leaves from field-grown row crops, especially with respect to aluminum (Al) analyses. The objective of this study was to determine the influence of washing leaf samples with either deionized water or detergent solution on elemental analyses for several agronomic crop plants. The crop plants sampled were corn (Zea mays L.), soybean (Glycine max L. Merr.), grain sorghum (Sorghum bicolor L. Moench), and wheat (Triticum aestivum L.). The crops were grown on a range of soil types, soil pH values, and tillage practices. Samples of upper leaves and lower leaves were collected separately. The samples were either not washed, washed with deionized water, or washed with detergent solution. After drying, grinding, and digesting, the samples were analyzed for Al, nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P), potassium (K), calcium (Ca), magnesium (Mg), iron (Fe), manganese (Mn), zinc (Zn), and copper (Cu). For all crop plants and conditions studied, there was no effect on measured N, P, K, Ca, Mg, Mn, Zn, or Cu concentrations, but measured Al and Fe concentrations were influenced by washing. In general, washing had a greater effect on Al analyses than on Fe analyses. Soybean samples were most affected by washing, while wheat samples seemed to be least affected. The results reflected greater contamination of lower leaves than upper leaves. Decontamination procedures appear necessary prior to Al and Fe analyses of field-grown crop plants.  相似文献

In order to identify the effects of soil properties on the transfer of Cd from soil to wheat under actual field conditions, 126 pairs of topsoil and wheat samples were collected from the Yangtze River delta region, China. Relevant parameters (Cd, Ca, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn, N, P, K, S, pH, total organic carbon, and speciation of soil Cd) in soil and wheat tissues were analyzed, and the results were treated by statistical methods. Soil samples (19.8%) and 14.3% of the wheat grain samples exceeded the relevant maximum permissible Cd concentrations in China for agricultural soil and wheat grain, respectively. The major speciations of Cd in soil were exchangeable, bound to carbonates and fulvic and humic acid fraction, and they were readily affected by soil pH, total Ca, Mg, S and P, DTPA-Fe, Ex-Ca, and Ex-Mg. Cadmium showed a strong correlation with Fe, S, and P present in the grain and the soil, whereas there was no significant correlation in the straw or root. Generally, soil pH, Ca, Mg, Mn, P, and slowly available K restricted Cd transfer from soil to wheat, whereas soil S, N, Zn, DTPA-Fe, and total organic carbon enhance Cd uptake by wheat.  相似文献

The relationship between amino acid and sugar export to thephloem was studied in young wheat plants (Triticum aestivumL. ‘Pro-INTA, Isla Verde’) using the EDTA-phloemcollection technique. Plants grown with a 16 h photoperiod showeda rapid decrease in the concentration of sugars and amino acidsin the phloem exudate from the beginning of the dark period.When plants grown with a 16 h photoperiod were kept in the darkfor longer than 8 h the free amino acid content in leaves andexudate (on a dry weight basis) increased continually throughoutthe 72 h of darkness. During the first 24 h of darkness thesugars in the phloem exudate decreased to 30% of the initialvalue, and returned to the control level when plants were returnedto light. When plants grown under low light intensity for 10d were transferred to high light intensity, they showed an increasein leaf sugar content (dry weight basis) after 3 d but therewere no differences in leaf free amino acid content (dry weightbasis) compared to low-light plants. The sugar concentrationin the phloem exudate was increased by higher light intensities,but there was no difference in the amino acid concentrationof the phloem exudate, and thus the amino acid:sugar ratio inthe phloem decreased in the high-light plants. The present resultssuggest that amino acids can be exported to the phloem independentlyof the export of sugars. In this work, Malva sylvestris var. mauritiana (L.) leaves were collected from different points in Muradiye region of Manisa-Turkey. The leaves were dissolved by wet digestion method using a mixture of mineral acid. Concentrations of Ag, Al, B, Ba, Bi, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, La, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, Pb, Sn, Sr, Sb, Si, Ti, U, Zn, and Zr in prepared solutions were determined by using inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES). High Ca (13,848 mg/kg) and Mg (1,936 mg/kg) concentrations were found at the leaves. Obtained values were compared with the internationally permitted (standard) values. The results of elements were analyzed statistically (analysis of variance test). For different leaf sizes, concentration factors were calculated.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to test the hypothesis that newly‐acquired boron (B) undergoes rapid xylem‐to‐phloem transfer in plants with restricted mobility. Analysis of the element accumulation and water usage by shoots of intact broccoli ( Brassica oleracea var. italica Plenck cv. Commander) and lupin ( Lupinus albus L. cv. Ultra) plants provided with a non‐deficient supply of B, revealed that the concentration of various mineral elements (K, P, Mg, Ca, B, Fe, Zn, Mo, Cu, Mn) in xylem sap of intact plants ranged from 0.3 µ M to 3.5 m M , with B being present at 2.9‐3.5 µ M . For each element assayed, the concentration was higher in phloem exudate (1.6 µ M to 91 m M ) than in xylem sap; B was present at about 0.4 m M . Intact broccoli and lupin plants or detached transpiring broccoli shoots were supplied simultaneously with enriched 10B, strontium (a xylem marker) and rubidium (a xylem/phloem marker) during early reproductive growth. The contents of these three compounds were determined in foliage and florets or fruits as a function of time (i.e. up to 12 h and 4 days for broccoli and lupin plants, respectively), and the content in florets or fruits was expressed as a percent of the total recovered. In general, the percent recovery of both 10B and rubidium in florets or fruits was similar and markedly greater than that for strontium, even at the earliest harvest times (within 2 h for broccoli and 1 day for lupin). The data indicate that in plants with restricted B mobility, B is supplied to sink tissues in the phloem, and the extent of B xylem‐to‐phloem transfer is closely determined by current uptake.  相似文献

Summary Samples ofK.hiantina and sediments were collected from iron ore tailings and other nearby sites within Tolo Harbour for heavy metal analysis. It was found that sediments as well as the clams at the tailings contained higher concentrations of Cd, Fe, Mn and Zn. Positive correlations between the metals in the sediments and clam tissues were found. The clams collected from the tailings showed a bustantial loss of Fe, Mn and Zn when reared in clean filtered seawater for a period of 8 days.  相似文献
