A Gram-negative, non-endospore-forming, rod shaped, strictly aerobic, moderately halophilic bacterium, designated strain M9BT, was isolated from the hypersaline lake Aran-Bidgol in Iran. Cells of strain M9BT were found to be motile and produce colonies with an orange-yellow pigment. Growth was determined to occur between 5 and 20 % (w/v) NaCl and the isolate grew optimally at 7.5–10 % (v/w) NaCl. The optimum pH and temperature for growth of the strain were determined to be pH 7.0 and 35 °C, respectively, while it was able to grow over pH and temperature ranges of 6–8 and 25–45 °C, respectively. Phylogenetic analysis based on the comparison of 16S rRNA gene sequences revealed that strain M9BT is a member of the genus Marinobacter. The closest relative to this strain was found to be Marinobacter hydrocarbonoclasticus MBIC 1303T with a similarity level of 97.7 %. DNA–DNA hybridization between the novel isolate and this phylogenetically related species was 13 ± 2 %. The major cellular fatty acids of the isolate were identified as C16:0, C19:1 ω6c, C18:1 ω9c and C16:1 ω9c. The polar lipid pattern of strain M9BT was determined to consist of phosphatidylglycerol, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, phosphatidylserine and three phospholipids. Ubiquinone 9 (Q-9) was the only lipoquinone detected. The G+C content of the genomic DNA of this strain was determined to be 58.6 mol%. Phenotypic characteristics, phylogenetic analysis and DNA–DNA relatedness data suggest that this strain represents a novel species of the genus Marinobacter, for which the name Marinobacter persicus sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain of Marinobacter persicus is strain M9BT (=IBRC-M 10445T = CCM 7970T = CECT 7991T = KCTC 23561T).  相似文献

A Gram-stain negative, rod-shaped, non-motile and pink-pigmented bacterial strain, designated strain HYL7-26T, was isolated from a soil in the Desert Park of Huyang forest located in Xinjiang, China. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strain HYL7-26T belongs to the genus Pontibacter in the family Cytophagaceae. The 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity between strain HYL7-26T and type strains of Pontibacter species ranged from 93.2 to 96.0 %. Strain HYL7-26T was found to contain iso-C15:0 (15.9 %), iso-C17:0 3-OH (9.5 %) and summed feature 4 (comprising anteiso-C17:1 B and/or iso-C17:1 I, 21.0 %, as defined by the MIDI system) as the major cellular fatty acids. The major respiratory quinone was identified as MK-7 and the DNA G+C content was determined to be 43.8 mol%. sym-Homospermidine was the major polyamine observed in the cells. On the basis of phenotypic, chemotaxonomic and phylogenetic data, strain HYL7-26T is considered to represent a novel species of the genus Pontibacter, for which the name Pontibacter soli sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is HYL7-26T (=CCTCC AB 206240T = NRRL B-59490T).  相似文献

A taxonomic study was carried out on strain 22II-S11-z10T, which was isolated from the surface seawater of the Atlantic Ocean. The bacterium was found to be Gram-stain negative, oxidase and catalase positive, oval- to rod-shaped and non-motile. Growth was observed at salinities of 0.5–9 % and at temperatures of 10–41 °C. The isolate can reduce nitrate to nitrite, degrade gelatin and aesculin, but can not degrade Tween 80. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strain 22II-S11-z10T belongs to the genus Actibacterium, with the highest sequence similarity to the type strain Actibacterium mucosum CECT 7668T (97.3 %). The DNA–DNA hybridization estimate value between strain 22II-S11-z10T and A. mucosum CECT 7668T was 19.30 ± 2.29 %. The principal fatty acids were identified as Summed Feature 8 (C18:1 ω7c/ω6c as defined by the MIDI system, 75.2 %) and Summed Feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c/ω6c, 6.9 %). The G+C content of the chromosomal DNA was determined to be 59.0 mol%. The respiratory quinone was determined to be Q-10 (100 %). Phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylcholine, two phospholipids, two aminolipids and two lipids were identified in the polar lipids. The combined genotypic and phenotypic data show that strain 22II-S11-z10T represents a novel species within the genus Actibacterium, for which the name Actibacterium atlanticum sp. nov. is proposed, with the type strain 22II-S11-z10T (=MCCC 1A09298T = LMG 27158T).  相似文献

A Gram-staining positive, facultative aerobic bacterium, designated strain RH-N24T, was isolated from naked barley in South Korea. Cells of the isolate were observed to be motile rods by means of peritrichous flagella and showed catalase-positive and oxidase-negative reactions. Growth of strain RH-N24T was observed at 4–40 °C (optimum: 35–37 °C) and at pH 5.0–9.0 (optimum: pH 6.0–7.0). Chemotaxonomic data (major isoprenoid quinone: MK-7; DNA G + C content: 53.5 mol %; cell wall type: A1γ-meso-diaminopimelic acid; major fatty acids: anteiso-CB15:0 and CB16:0B) supported the affiliation of the isolate to the genus Paenibacillus. The major cellular polar lipids were identified as phosphatidylethanolamine, diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol and two unidentified polar lipids. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences also supported the conclusion that strain RH-N24T belonged to the genus Paenibacillus. Comparative 16S rRNA gene sequence analysis showed that strain RH-N24T was most closely related to Paenibacillus hunanensis FeL05T and Paenibacillus illinoisensis NRRL NRS-1356T with similarities of 94.64 and 94.54 %, respectively. On the basis of phenotypic and molecular properties, strain RH-N24T represents a novel species within the genus Paenibacillus for which the name Paenibacillus hordei sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is RH-N24T (=KACC 15511T = JCM 17570T).  相似文献

An actinomycete capable of lysing cyanobacteria, strain JXJ 0074T, was isolated from a soil sample collected from Jiangxi province, south China, and characterized by using polyphasic taxonomy. The new isolate showed morphological and chemotaxonomic properties typical of members of the genus Streptomyces. Phylogenetic analysis of the near-complete 16S rRNA gene sequence indicated that strain JXJ 0074T should be affiliated to the genus Streptomyces and exhibited highest similarities to Streptomyces shenzhenensis DSM 42034T (98.99 %) and Streptomyces lucensis NBRC 13056T (98.60 %), while the similarities to other members of the genus are lower than 98.22 % similarity. However, the DNA–DNA hybridization values between strain JXJ 0074T and S. shenzhenensis DSM 42034T or S. lucensis NBRC 13056T were 46.2 ± 2.6 and 32.6 ± 3.1 %, respectively. Thus, on the basis of the polyphasic data, strain JXJ 0074T represents a novel species of the genus Streptomyces, for which the name Streptomyces jiujiangensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is JXJ 0074T (= BCRC 16953T = KCTC 29262T).  相似文献

A novel bacterial strain, designated SGD-1123T was isolated from Chorao Island, in Goa Province, India. The strain was found to be able to grow at 15–42 °C, pH 5–12 and 0–12 % (w/v) NaCl. The whole cell hydrolysates were found to contain meso-diaminopimelic acid, galactose and arabinose. The major fatty acids were identified as iso-C15:0 and anteiso-C15:0, MK-7 was identified as the predominant menaquinone and the predominant polar lipids were identified as diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine and an unidentified aminolipid. The genomic DNA G+C content was determined to be 44.6 mol%. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences placed the isolate within the genus Bacillus and further revealed that strain SGD-1123T had highest sequence similarity with Bacillus aquimaris, and forms a separate clade with its closest relatives i.e. B. aquimaris, Bacillus vietnamensis and Bacillus marisflavi, with which it shares 94.5, 94.1 and 94.1 % similarity respectively. The phylogenetic, chemotaxonomic and phenotypic analyses indicated that strain SGD-1123T represents a novel species within the genus Bacillus, for which the name Bacillus enclensis is proposed. The type strain is SGD-1123T (NCIM 5450T=CCTCC AB 2011125T).  相似文献

Three strains, H01100409BT, H01100413B, and H27100402HT, were isolated from several internal organs of diseased redbanded seabream (Pagrus auriga) reared in Andalusia (Southern Spain). All strains were studied by phenotypic, including chemotaxonomy, and genomic characteristics. Phylogenetic analysis based on concatenated sequences of six housekeeping genes (gyrB, ftsZ, topA, mreB, gapA, and 16S rRNA) supported the inclusion of the strains within the clade Phosphoreum of the genus Photobacterium, and two of the strains (H27100402HT and H01100409BT) formed a tight group separated from the closest species P. aquimaris. Genomic analyses, including average nucleotide identity (ANIb and ANIm) and DNA–DNA hybridization (DDH), clearly separated strains H27100402HT and H01100409BT from the other species within the clade Phosphoreum with values below the thresholds for species delineation. The chemotaxonomic features (including FAME analysis and MALDI-TOF-MS) of H27100402HT and H01100409BT strains confirmed their differentiation from the related taxa. The results demonstrated that strain H01100413B was classified as P. aquimaris and the strains H27100402HT and H01100409BT represented a new species each in the genus Photobacterium, for which we propose the names Photobacterium malacitanum sp. nov., type strain H27100402HT (=CECT 9190T = LMG 29992T), and Photobacterium andalusiense sp. nov., type strain H01100409BT (=CECT 9192T = LMG 29994T).  相似文献

We report the characterization of one novel bacterium, strain ERD01GT, isolated from the cecum of a TNFdeltaARE mouse. The strain was found to belong to the genus Streptococcus based on phylogenetic analysis of partial 16S rRNA gene sequences. The bacterial species with standing name in nomenclature that was most closely related to our isolate was Streptococcus alactolyticus (97 %). The two bacteria were characterized by a DNA–DNA hybridization similarity value of 35 %, demonstrating that they belong to different species. The new isolate was negative for acetoin production, esculin hydrolysis, urease, α-galactosidase and β-glucosidase, was able to produce acid from starch and trehalose, grew as beta-hemolytic coccobacilli on blood agar, did not grow at >40 °C, did not survive heat treatment at 60 °C for 20 min and showed negative agglutination in Lancefield tests. On the basis of these characteristics, strain ERD01GT differed from the most closely related species S. alactolyticus, Streptococcus gordonii, Streptococcus intermedius and Streptococcus sanguinis. Thus, based on genotypic and phenotypic evidence, we propose that the isolate belongs to a novel bacterial taxon within the genus Streptococcus, for which the name Streptococcus danieliae is proposed. The type strain is ERD01GT (= DSM 22233T = CCUG 57647T).  相似文献

A taxonomic study was carried out on strain 22II-S11-z7T, which was isolated from the surface seawater of the Atlantic Ocean. The bacterium was found to be Gram-negative, oxidase negative and catalase positive, long-rod shaped, and gliding. Growth was observed at salinities of 1–5 % and at temperatures of 10–41 °C. The isolate was capable of hydrolysing gelatin and Tween 80 and able to reduce nitrate to nitrite, but unable to degrade aesculin. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences indicated that strain 22II-S11-z7T belongs to the genus Aquimarina, with highest sequence similarity to Aquimarina megaterium XH134T (98.31 %), followed by Aquimarina macrocephali JAMB N27T (96.59 %); other species of the genus Aquimarina shared 93.63–96.08 % sequence similarity. The ANI value between strain 22II-S11-z7T and A. megaterium XH134T was found to be 91.86–91.81 %. The DNA–DNA hybridization estimated value between strain 22II-S11-z7T and A. megaterium XH134T was 47.7 ± 2.6 %. The principal fatty acids were identified as Summed Feature 3 (C16:1 ω7c/ω6c, as defined by the MIDI system; 8.1 %), SummedFeature 9 (iso-C17:1 ω7c/C16:110-methyl; 6.8 %), iso-C15:0 G (11.3 %), iso-C15:0 (24.9 %), iso-C16:0 (5.7 %), C16:0 (5.2 %), iso-C15:0 3OH (6.4 %) and iso-C17:0 3OH (21.5 %). The G+C content of the chromosomal DNA was determined to be 32.99 mol %. The respiratory quinone was determined to be MK-6 (100 %). Phosphatidylethanolamine, two unidentified aminolipids, five unidentified phospholipids and two unidentified lipids were found to be present. The combined genotypic and phenotypic data show that strain 22II-S11-z7T represents a novel species within the genus Aquimarina, for which the name Aquimarina atlantica sp. nov. is proposed, with the type strain 22II-S11-z7T (=MCCC 1A09239T = KCTC 42003T).  相似文献

A Gram-negative, oxidase-positive, facultatively anaerobic bacterium, designated strain E20121, was isolated from the digestive tract of a Japanese prawn (Marsupenaeus japonicus) collected from the coastal sea water area of Zhuhai, Guangdong province, China. The new isolate was determined to be closely related to Vibrio ponticus DSM 16217T, having 97.6 % 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity. Phylogenetic analysis based on recA, pyrH and rpoA also showed low levels of sequence similarities (72.6–96.6 %) with all species of the genus Vibrio. A multigene phylogenetic tree using concatenated sequences of the four genes (16S rRNA, rpoA, recA and pyrH) clearly showed that the new isolate is different from the currently known Vibrio species. DNA–DNA hybridization experiments revealed similarity values below 70 % with the closest related species V. ponticus DSM 16217T. Several phenotypic traits enabled the differentiation of strain E20121 from the closest phylogenetic neighbours. The DNA G+C content of strain E20121 was determined to be 47.6 mol % and the major fatty acid components identified were C16:1ω7c and/or C16:1ω6c (39.8 %), C18:1ω7c (13.6 %) and C16:0 (9.6 %). Based on genotypic, phenotypic, chemotaxonomic, phylogenetic and DNA–DNA hybridization analyses, strain E20121 is proposed to represent a novel species of the genus Vibrio for which the name Vibrio zhuhaiensis sp. nov. is proposed. The type strain is E20121T(=DSM 25602T = CCTCC AB 2011174T).  相似文献

A flexirubin-type yellow-pigmented, non-gliding, non-flagellated, gram-negative bacterium strain, designated F3T, was isolated from a drilling core sample of the Qiangtang basin, Qinghai-Tibetan plateau, China. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that the strain F3T belongs to the genus Flavobacterium, with the highest 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity to the Flavobacterium noncentrifugens CGMCC 1.10076T (94.92 %). Strain F3T grew optimally at temperature about 20 °C, at pH about 7.0–8.0, at NaCl concentration 0 % (w/v). The DNA G+C content of the isolate was 35.5 mol%. The major polar lipid was phosphatidylethanolamine, predominant cellular fatty acids of the strain was iso-C15:0 (22.02 %), while the major menaquinone was menaquinone 6. Due to the phenotypic and genetic distinctiveness and several other characteristic studied in this article, we consider F3T as a novel species of the genus Flavobacterium, and propose to name it Flavobacterium qiangtangensis sp. nov. The type strain is F3T (=CGMCC 1.12706T = JCM 19739T).  相似文献

A bacterial strain designated JA-1, related to Janthinobacterium lividum, was isolated from glacier ice samples from the island Spitsbergen in the Arctic. The strain was tested for phenotypic traits and the most prominent appeared to be the dark red brown to black pigmentation different from the violet pigment of Janthinobacterium, Chromobacterium and Iodobacter. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences and DNA–DNA hybridization tests showed that strain JA-1 belongs to the genus Janthinobacterium but represents a novel lineage distinct from the two known species of this genus, J. lividum and Janthinobacterium agaricidamnosum. The DNA G + C content of strain JA-1 was determined to be 62.3 mol %. The isolate is a psychrotrophic Gram negative bacterium, rod-shaped with rounded ends, containing intracellular inclusions and one polar flagellum. On the basis of the presented results strain JA-1 is proposed as the type strain of a novel species of the genus Janthinobacterium, for which the name Janthinobacterium svalbardensis sp. nov. is proposed (JA-1T = DSM 25734, ZIM B637).  相似文献

Its taxonomic status was determined by using polyphasic approach. It is a Gram-positive, aerobic, non-motile, weakly acid-fast strain. Phylogenetic analysis based on the 16S rRNA gene sequence revealed that strain VRC07T is a member of the genus Nocardia. The highest levels of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarity was found between the strains Nocardia niwae W9241T (99.6 %), Nocardia amikacinitolerans W9988T (99.3 %) and Nocardia arthritidis IFM 10035T (98.9 %); similarity to other type strains of the genus Nocardia was below 98.7 %. The organism had chemical and morphological features consistent with its classification in the genus Nocardia such as meso-diaminopimelic acid as the diagnostic diamino acid in the cell wall peptidoglycan. Arabinose and galactose as the diagnostic sugars. Diagnostic polar lipids were phosphatidylinositol, diphosphatidylglycerol, and phosphatidylglycerol. The predominant menaquinone was MK-8(H4, ω-cycl). The major fatty acids were C16:0, C18:0, C18:1 w9c, C18:0 10-methyl TBSA and sum in feature 3 (16:1 w7c/16:1 w6c). The G+C content of the genomic DNA was 68.5 mol%. The DNA–DNA relatedness data, together with phenotypic differences clearly distinguished the isolate from its closest relatives. On the basis of these phenotypic and genotypic data, the isolate represents a novel species, for which the name Nocardia bhagyanesis sp. nov., is proposed. The type strain is VRC07T (=KCTC 29209T = MTCC 11725T = ATCC BAA-2548).  相似文献

A novel bacterium, strain 1ZS3-15T, was isolated from rhizosphere of rice. Its taxonomic position was investigated using a polyphasic approach. The novel strain was observed to be Gram-stain positive, spore-forming, aerobic, motile and rod-shaped. Phylogenetic analysis based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain 1ZS3-15T was recovered within the genus Paenibacillus. It is closely related to Paenibacillus pectinilyticus KCTC 13222T (97.9 % similarity), Paenibacillus frigoriresistens CCTCC AB 2011150T (96.8 %), Paenibacillus alginolyticus JCM 9068T (96.4 %) and Paenibacillus chondroitinus DSM 5051T (95.5 %). The fatty acid profile of strain 1ZS3-15T, which showed a predominance of anteiso-C15:0 and iso-C16:0, supported the allocation of the strain into the genus Paenibacillus. The predominant menaquinone was found to be MK-7. The polar lipids profile of strain 1ZS3-15T was found to consist of diphosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylglycerol, phosphatidylethanolamine, one unidentified lipid and two unidentified aminophospholipids. Phylogenetic analyses based on 16S rRNA gene sequences showed that strain YIM 78087T belongs to the genus Streptomyces and is closely related to Streptomyces fimbriatus DSM 40942T, Streptomyces marinus DSM 41968T and Streptomyces qinglanensis DSM 42035T (97.18, 97.05 and 97.1 % similarity, respectively). Combined with the low values of DNA–DNA hybridization between strain YIM 78087T and its closest neighbours, these analyses indicated that this new isolate represents a different genomic species in the genus Streptomyces. The predominant menaquinones of strain YIM 78087T were identified as MK-9 (H4) and MK-9 (H6). The major fatty acids were identified as anteiso-C15:0 (28.4 %), anteiso-C17:0 (23.0 %) and iso-C16:0 (15.1 %). The whole-cell hydrolysates found to contain glucose, mannose and ribose. The DNA G+C content was determined to be 73.0 mol%. Based on the comparative analysis of phenotypic and genotypic characteristics, it is proposed that strain YIM 78087T represents a novel species of the genus Streptomyces, for which the name Streptomyces calidiresistens sp. nov., is proposed. The type strain is YIM 78087T (=BCRC 16955T=DSM 42108T=JCM 19629T).  相似文献
