The blood oxygen affinity of vertebrates is regulated, in part, through changes in red cell phosphate levels and increased oxygen affinity during reductions in inspired oxygen and is a well-described and common feature. However, during anaemia, when oxygen delivery is compromised by a reduction in blood oxygen carrying capacity, a lowering of blood oxygen affinity will facilitate oxygen unloading in the tissues, while oxygen loading at the gas exchange organ is not impaired. The present study investigated the effects of artificially induced anaemia in vivo on the blood oxygen affinity and red cell nucleoside triphosphate (NTP) concentrations in the turtle, Chrysemys picta. Blood was obtained from conscious animals through an arterial catheter and oxygen equilibrium curves were determined using the Tucker method while NTP concentrations were analyzed spectrophotometrically. Before induction of anaemia haematocrit averaged 23% and P50 was 18.5 +/- 0.7 with a NTP/Hb of 0.20 +/- 0.01 (mmol/mmol). After the haematocrit had been reduced to approximately 10% by bleeding (48-96 h) (blood volume was maintained by re-infusion of plasma and Ringer) there were no effects on P50 or red cell NTP concentrations. Thus, in contrast to fish and mammals, turtles do not exhibit a change in blood oxygen affinity during anaemia.  相似文献

The effects of beta-adrenergic blockade upon myocardial blood flow and oxygen balance during exercise were evaluated in eight conscious dogs, instrumented for chronic measurements of coronary blood flow, left ventricular pressure, aortic blood pressure, heart rate, and sampling of arterial and coronary sinus venous blood. The administration of propranolol (1.5 mg/kg iv) produced a decrease in heart rate, peak left ventricular (LV) dP/dt, LV (dP/dt/P, and an increase in LV end-diastolic pressure during exercise. Mean coronary blood flow and myocardial oxygen consumption were lower after propranolol than at the same exercise intensity in control conditions. The oxygen delivery-to-oxygen consumption ratio and the coronary sinus oxygen content were also significantly lower. It is concluded that the relationship between myocardial oxygen supply and demand is modified during exercise after propranolol, so that a given level of myocardial oxygen consumption is achieved with a proportionally lower myocardial blood flow and a higher oxygen extraction.  相似文献

The circulatory and metabolic effects of inhalation of oxygen in high concentration were investigated in 50 patients with acute myocardial infarction. The heart rate, arterial blood pressure, cardiac out-put, blood gas tensions, pH, and lactate and pyruvate levels were measured. In general, oxygen inhalation produced a fall in cardiac output and stroke volume and a rise in blood pressure and systemic vascular resistance. In a small number of patients with very low cardiac out-puts there was a rise in output. A substantial rise in arterial oxygen tension was obtained even in patients with low initial values. The raised arterial blood lactate levels which were frequently present were reduced after oxygen. The therapeutic implications of these effects are discussed.  相似文献

The aim of this work was to estimate the dynamics of blood physical and chemical parameters when blood specimens were processed by singlet oxygen in vitro. Our experiments were executed with whole blood specimens of healthy people (n = 10). Each specimen was divided into five separate portions of 5 mL. The first portion was a control (without any exposures). The second one was processed by an oxygen-ozone mixture (at ozone concentration of 500 μg/L, the third portion by oxygen, and the fourth and fifth ones were processed by a gas mixture with singlet oxygen (50 and 100% of generator power). In blood samples after processing we studied the activity of lactate dehydrogenase, aldehyde dehydrogenase and superoxide dismutase, erythrocyte and plasma levels of glucose and lactate, acid-base balance and the partial pressure of gases in blood. It was found out, that blood processing by singlet oxygen leads to optimization of energy, detoxication and antioxidant enzymes functioning with changes in plasma and erythrocyte level of glucose and lactate, normalization of blood gases level and acid-base balance. Our results show, that the effect of singlet oxygen on enzyme activity is more pronounced than exposure to an oxygen-ozone gas mixture.  相似文献

Graded erythrocythemia was induced by isovolemic loading of packed red blood cells in the toad, Bufo marinus. Blood viscosity, hematocrit, hemoglobin concentration, maximal aortic blood flow rate and maximal rates of oxygen consumption were determined after each load. Blood viscosity was related to hematocrit in the expected exponential manner; ln eta = 0.43 + 0.035 Hct. Maximal blood flow rates in the dorsal aorta were inversely proportional to blood viscosity and fit predictions of the Poiseuille-Hagen flow formula. The effect of increased blood viscosity was to reduce aortic pulse volume, but not maximal heart rate. Maximal systemic oxygen transport capacity (aortic blood flow rate X hemoglobin concentration X O2 binding capacity of hemoglobin) was linearly correlated with the maximal rate of oxygen consumption. These date indicate that optimal hematocrit theory is applicable for maximal blood flow rates in vivo, and that systemic oxygen transport is the primary limitation to aerial VO2 max in amphibians.  相似文献

The purpose of this study was to determine whether samples from the veins of the pregnant and the nonpregnant horn of the uterus lead to similar estimates of uterine blood flow and oxygen consumption. To accomplish this, a comparison of uterine blood flow, arteriovenous differences of oxygen content, and oxygen consumption measured by sampling the venous drainages of the two uterine horns was performed on eight pregnant sheep during the last 20 days of pregnancy. Each sheep carried a single fetus. Umbilical and uterine blood flows were measured with the test substances ethanol and antipyrine by application of the steady-state diffusion method. Twenty-three measurements of uterine blood flow comparing the two horns were not significantly different (P greater than 0.1), and were highly correlated (r = 0.98). The ratio of the oxygen content arteriovenous difference in the pregnant to that in the nonpregnant horn and the ratio of the uterine blood flow in the nonpregnant to that in the pregnant horn were significantly correlated (r = 0.7). As a consequence, paired calculations of oxygen consumption for the whole pregnant uterus had a small coefficient of variation (+/- 3.7%). These results demonstrate that the use of highly diffusible test substances for the measurement of uterine blood flow in pregnant sheep can provide accurate data for the calculation of uterine oxygen uptake, in part because the oxygen and test substance molecules are similarly affected by local variations in placental perfusion.  相似文献

目的:评价麻醉前和术中持续吸氧对椎管内麻醉下剖宫产术后疼痛的效果。方法:选择ASAI-II级择期行剖宫产手术的初产妇100例,将其随机分为面罩吸氧组和空气吸入组(对照组)。吸氧组于术前30 min及术中通过面罩全程给氧,吸入氧浓度为60%,空气组则不给予特殊处理。检测和比较两组产妇不同时点的心率、血压及SpO2的变化,手术时间,视觉模拟评分(VAS),新生儿Apgar评分,胎儿氧饱和度,新生儿脐动静脉血气,产妇血气以及术后24 h内恶心呕吐的发生率。结果:两组产妇各时间点心率、血压、SpO2、手术时间及新生儿Apgar评分、胎儿氧饱和度比较均无显著性差异(P0.05)。吸氧组术后6 h、12 h、24 h的VAS评分分别为(4.07±0.10)、(2.13±0.12)和(0.42±0.08),均明显低于对照组的(6.10±0.11)、(4.02±0.13)及(1.10±0.22)(P0.05)。吸氧组新生儿脐动静脉血气、产妇血气氧分压均显著高于对照组(P0.05),术后24h内恶心呕吐的发生率显著低于对照组(P0.05)。结论:麻醉前和术中持续吸氧能显著减轻椎管内麻醉下剖宫产术后疼痛,同时有效降低术后恶心呕吐的发生率。  相似文献

The oxygen transport function of the blood was studied in angina pectoris patients treated with nitrosorbide to correct the L-arginine-NO pathway. A series of parameters (the O2 content of venous blood, blood oxygen capacity, blood oxygenation level, methemoglobin content, oxygen affinity of methemoglobin, and central hemodynamic parameters) were determined. The oxygen affinity of hemoglobin in patients with functional class I and II stable exertional angina decreased according to the severity of the disease and, therefore, can be considered a criterion of an unfavorable course of the disease. Nitrosorbide therapy resulted in an increase in the oxygen affinity of hemoglobin.  相似文献

There is limited information available regarding the effects of hypoxemia on cardiac output and the distribution of blood flow and oxygen delivery in unanaesthetized newborns of any species. We measured these variables in 12 unanaesthetized newborn lambs during a control period and during 50% and 75% reductions in aortic blood oxygen content which were produced by placing each lamb in an environment of 8-10% and 5-6% oxygen, respectively. 1-2% carbon dioxide was added to the gas mixture and there were no significant changes in aortic blood PCO2 or pH. Hypoxaemia was associated with a 15-20% increase in cardiac output but total somatic oxygen delivery decreased. Cerebral, myocardial, adrenal and diaphragmatic blood flows increased and their oxygen deliveries were not diminished. Oxygen deliveries to the spleen, kidneys, gastrointestinal tract and carcass decreased when aortic blood oxygen content was reduced. This study demonstrates that the newborn lamb has a limited ability to increase its cardiac output during hypoaxemia, but that oxygen deliveries to the heart, brain, adrenals and diaphragm are maintained in association with a redistribution of blood flow.  相似文献

Terminal activity causes an increase in local cerebral blood flow that can be quantified by measuring the accompanying increase in tissue oxygen. Alkaline pH changes can also follow neuronal activation. The purpose of these studies was to determine whether these changes in extracellular oxygen and pH correlate. Fast-scan cyclic voltammetry was used to detect changes in dopamine, pH and oxygen levels simultaneously in the caudate-putamen after electrical stimulation of the substantia nigra in anesthetized rats. The biphasic increases in oxygen and pH followed similar time courses, and were delayed a few seconds from the immediate release and uptake of dopamine. The changes following administration of neurotransmitter receptor antagonists as well as agents that modulate blood flow were identical for oxygen and pH. Two distinct mechanisms were identified that give rise to the oxygen and pH changes: blood vessel dilatation caused by nitric oxide synthesis after muscarinic receptor activation and adenosine receptor activation. We conclude that changes in blood flow accompanying terminal activity cause alkaline pH shifts by the rapid removal of carbon dioxide, a component of the extracellular brain buffering system.  相似文献

With new algorithms of pattern recognition three types of regulation of oxygen delivery and consumption were studied: at normal regulation, hypo- and hyperfunction of heart. It is shown that a surplus systemic blood flow results in increase of arterio-venous shunt flow. Insufficient blood flow results in increase of arterio-venous gradient of blood oxygen content due to the increase of gradient of oxygen content on both sides of capillary wall and to activating of vasomotor function of microcirculatory arterial bed. Quantitative estimations of shunt and capillary blood flow are obtained.  相似文献

Cerebral oxygen consumption during asphyxia in fetal sheep   总被引:4,自引:0,他引:4  
Cerebral blood flow and cerebral arteriovenous oxygen content difference were measured in 17 fetal sheep, and cerebral oxygen uptake was calculated. The measurements were made under control conditions and after profound fetal asphyxia induced of uterine blood flow for up to 90 min. In 14 of the fetal sheep, sequential measurements were made to examine hemodynamic changes and cerebral oxygen consumption at comparable intervals up to 36 min of asphyxia. These fetuses initially had elevated blood pressure and lowered heart rate became hypoxemic, hypercarbic, and acidotic. There was an initial decrease in cerebral oxygen consumption. Sequential measurements, however, showed a relative stability in this decreased oxygenation during 4 to 36 min of asphyxia despite a progressive metabolic acidosis. The cerebral fractional oxygen extraction remained unchanged despite a mean pH of 6.98 at 36 min. The calculated cerebral oxygen uptake during asphyxia in all 17 sheep was grouped according to whether the ascending aortic oxygen content was greater or less than 1.0 mmol/l. In the first group with mean ascending aortic oxygen content of 1.3 mmol/l, blood flow to the brain was increased and cerebral oxygen consumption was 85% of control. In the second group with mean arterial blood oxygen content of 0.8 mmol/l, there was a narrowing of the arteriovenous oxygen content difference, but no further increase in cerebral blood flow. Cerebral oxygen consumption was only 48% of control in this more asphyxiated group. We conclude that the degree of hypoxemia in the second group represents a point where physiologic mechanisms cannot compensate, and may be associated with neuronal damage.  相似文献

Perinatal inflammation is associated with adverse neurodevelopmental outcomes, which may be partly due to changes in the cerebral oxygen delivery/consumption relationship. We aimed to determine the critical oxygen delivery threshold of the brain of preterm, ventilated lambs and to determine whether the critical threshold is affected by exposure to inflammation in utero. Pregnant ewes received intra-amniotic injection of lipopolysaccharide or saline at 125 or 127 days of gestation. Pulmonary and systemic flow probes and catheters were surgically positioned in the fetus immediately before delivery at 129 days of gestation. After delivery, lambs were ventilated for 90 min using a positive end-expiratory pressure recruitment strategy. Cardio-respiratory variables and blood gases were measured regularly. Systemic and cerebral oxygen delivery, consumption (Fick), and extraction were calculated, and the relationship between cerebral delivery and consumption analyzed. Linear regression was used to define the transition or "critical" oxygen threshold as the point at which the slope of the oxygen delivery/consumption curve changed to be > 10°. Four subgroups were defined according to the calculated critical threshold. A total of 150 measurements were recorded in 18 lambs. Fetal cerebral oxygen consumption was increased by antenatal lipopolysaccharide (P < 0.05). The postnatal critical oxygen threshold was 3.6 ml·kg?1·min?1, corresponding to cerebral oxygen consumption of 0.73 ml·kg?1·min?1. High oxygen delivery and consumption were associated with increased pulmonary and carotid blood flow and systemic extraction compared with low oxygen delivery and consumption. No postnatal effect of antenatal inflammation was observed. Inflammation in utero increases fetal, but not postnatal, cerebral oxygen consumption. Adverse alterations to pulmonary blood flow can result in reduced cerebral blood flow, oxygen delivery, and consumption. Regardless of exposure to inflammation, there is a consistent postnatal relationship between cerebral oxygen delivery and consumption.  相似文献

Healthy males performed upright exercise before and after three days of dry immersion. During exercise, calf blood flow, heart rate, and oxygen consumption were measured. Immersion resulted in increased heart rate and oxygen ventilatory equivalent, and decreased calf blood flow. Implications for the alterations in blood flow dynamics are discussed.  相似文献

本文研究了鸡、家兔、鲤鱼、蟾蜍4种实验动物血红蛋白(hemoglobin,Hb)携氧-释氧动力学过程,初步建立Hb携氧-释氧动力学研究方法,并探讨Hb携氧-释氧动力学过程与动物生存环境之间的关系.结果显示:4种动物Hb携氧动力学曲线均呈"S"形曲线特征,与传统的Hb氧解离曲线(oxygen dissociation curve,ODC)相似;同时不同动物Hb携氧-释氧动力学曲线也有各自特点,如鸡Hb释氧时间长达(1 411±6)S;在Hb携氧.释氧曲线I阶段,鲤鱼上升斜率远大于家兔等.提示Hb携氧-释氧动力学曲线可反映不同动物Hb携氧效率的差异.与传统ODC参数P50相对应,由动力学曲线可得到Hb携氧动力学参数T50°T50是Hb达到50%氧饱和度所需时间,可直观反映Hb携氧效率的差异.4种实验动物Hb均有较稳定的T50,从大到小依次为:鸡、家兔、鲤鱼和蟾蜍.对Hb携氧动力学曲线与ODC综合分析,可得到Hb携氧效能参数E50,表示Hb达到50%氧饱和度所用时间与环境氧分压之间的关系,即E50(50% Sat,Xeo2,yr).E50有可能成为全面评价Hb携氧效能的综合指标.  相似文献

The effects of intraarterial administration of somatostatin upon intestinal blood flow, intestinal capillary surface area, oxygen consumption and intestinal motor activity were measured in anesthetized dogs. Blood flow to the segment of distal ileum was measured with an electromagnetic blood flow meter, and arteriovenous oxygen difference (AVO2) was determined spectrophotometrically. Intestinal oxygen consumption was calculated as the product of AVO2 and total blood flow. The clearance of 86Rb was measured to estimate the density of the perfused intestinal capillaries. Changes in blood flow distribution were estimated from the distribution of radiolabelled microspheres. Intestinal motor activity was monitored from changes in intraluminal pressure. Somatostatin induced a dose-related decrease in intestinal blood flow, capillary surface area and intestinal oxygen consumption. A significant increase in intestinal motor activity was also observed. The data of this study indicate that somatostatin acts on smooth muscle of both arterioles and precapillary sphincters and results in a potent vasoconstriction in the intestinal microcirculation.  相似文献

The effects of the persistence of pulsatile blood flow in the pulmonary capillaries on the over-all diffusing capacity and alveolar-arterial oxygen tension gradient were studied. A mathematical analysis was made of the oxygen transfer process using an undamped cardiac flow pulse in the capillaries and taking into account the finite rate of reaction of oxygen with hemoglobin.

In five cases of both normal and low oxygen atmospheres, combined with varying degree of exercise, it was found that the alveolar-arterial oxygen tension gradients were not affected by the time-varying blood flow, while in cases of breathing air the over-all diffusing capacity of the lung increased 10-15% over the diffusing capacity obtained with constant blood flow rate in the pulmonary capillaries.

Coronary vessels of the isolated rabbit heart were perfused with eryhem--a solution containing 2.5--3.0 g% of hemoglobin and with the rabbit own blood diluted to the Hb content corresponding to such in eryhem. The oxygen capacity of eryhem as per 1 g of Hb constituted 72% only of the oxygen capacity of erythrocyte Hb. It was shown that eryhem was capable of uptake, transportation and of giving up oxygen. At the same time the myocardium perfused with eryhem was in worse conditions of oxygen supply than the muscle perfused with blood. The required level of oxygen uptake was reached with the increase of coronary blood supply and more complete utilization of blood oxygen reserves.  相似文献

When water temperature was increased from 12 to 27°C at a rate of 2°C h−1, oxygen consumption of rainbow trout Oncorhynchus mykiss was correlated strongly with both heart rate and blood oxygen extraction but the relationship with cardiac output was variable and weak. On the other hand, when water temperature was decreased from 21 to 12°C at a rate of 0·5°C h−1, oxygen consumption was correlated with both heart rate and cardiac output but not with blood oxygen extraction. When fish were forced to swim increasingly faster, heart rate, cardiac output and blood oxygen extraction all correlated positively with oxygen consumption. For both cardiac output and heart rate, the slope of the regression line with oxygen consumption was elevated significantly more when the fish were forced to swim at increasingly higher swimming speeds than when water temperature was increased or decreased. The variation of the regression lines between cardiac output and oxygen consumption indicated that cardiac output presents few advantages over heart rate as a predictor of metabolic rate.  相似文献

Changes in blood respiratory properties and cardiovascular function of Channa maculata are described in fish acutely exposed to water of different oxygen tensions. The oxygen dissociation curve of the blood was hyperbolic, and the blood had a high oxygen affinity ( P 50= 7.6 mm Hg at pH = 7.6) and a large Bohr coefficient. The persistently higher blood oxygen level in the dorsal aorta compared with that in the bulbus arteriosus regardless of the ambient oxygen tensions tends to support Ishimatsu and Itazawa's (1983) suggestion that oxygenated and deoxygenated blood could be. at least partially, separated in the heart of Channa . Acute exposure to hypoxic water induced insignificant changes in blood oxygen tension and saturation. However, bradycardia, hypotension, haemodilution and antidiuresis were observed in fish exposed to severely hypoxic (PO2≤ 30 mmHg) but not to moderately hypoxic (PO2= 50 mmHg) water. These data suggested that Channa maculala possessed adaptive blood respiratory properties and blood circulation pattern to allow the fish to take up oxygen from air without significant branchial oxygen loss to the surrounding hypoxic water.  相似文献
