Study of EEG responses to photic conditioned stimuli in cats has shown that the extent of brain activation depends not on the physical strength of the stimulus, but on its biological significance. The longest activation is recorded to a positive signal, even if it is the weakest flash of light. The intensity of EEG responses to negative stimuli is determined by the nearness of their physical parameters to those of the positive signal. Repeated presentation of a non-reinforced flash leads to a gradual extinction of EEG reactions. Brain activation in response to a reinforced positive signal persists unchanged even after a large number of its repetitions. The revealed properties of brain electrical reactions to stimuli of different significance accord with those previously recorded in response to acoustic stimuli. In both cases the data are in agreement with hypothesis of a central system of signal analysis, which performs the estimation of stimuli according to their biological quality.  相似文献

The state of internal inhibition is analysed which is considered as a multifactor systemically organized process. On model of combined presentation of positive and inhibitory stimuli in experiments on white rats and dogs, a dependence is established of the efficiency of reinforcement cancellation factor on motivation intensity. Condition of negative emotion--frustration, "difficult state"-is a necessary link in the process of internal inhibition formation, since it is responsible for selection of non-reinforcement for storage in the long-term memory. Conclusion is made that active inhibition of goal-directed behaviour is mediated by actualization of memory trace, "engram of non-reinforcement" by negative conditioned stimulus.  相似文献

Unit activity of the somatosensory cortex was studied in chronic experiments on cats during alimentary instrumental conditioned reflex performance and elaboration of conditioned inhibition (CI). First presentations of the CI signal at the beginning of CI formation caused, due to orienting reaction to a new stimulus, a levelling of the response of the neurones to the positive conditioned signal included into the CI complex. At the stage of consolidated CI, this depression proceeded gradually during the development of conditioned inhibition caused by consecutive presentations of the nonreinforced CI combination. Two groups of neurones were involved in the process of the CI performance: one of them being the same which was activated also in response to positive stimulation during performance of the conditioned response, and the second one being areactive to the positive conditioned stimulus but reducing the frequency of the background activity.  相似文献

Neuronal activity in g. proreus was studied during classical secretory conditioning and its differentiation in dogs. Three types of changes in neuronal reaction pattern were identified during differential conditioned stimulus compared to the pattern observed during positive conditioned stimulus. It has been shown that signal significance of the conditioned stimulus may be coded by specific distribution of interspike intervals in response to different conditioned stimuli. In situation of successive inhibition or disinhibition of the differentiation some neurones displayed simultaneous appearance of interspike intervals specific for responses to current and previously presented conditioned stimuli.  相似文献

We compared the memory of damselfish Stegastes fuscus in an aversive and appetitive conditioning task. Fish were trained to associate the sides of the tank that corresponded to the presence of a positive (conspecific presence) or negative (electroshock) stimulus. After two conditioning sessions, they were tested for learning. The fish conditioned to the stimulus were then re-tested for memory retention after 5, 10 or 15 days. Both the positive and negative rewards were associated with a specific side of the tank, indicating learning ability. Additionally, in both contexts, S. fuscus stored the information learned and showed similar behavioural patterns after 5, 10 and 15 days, suggesting long-lasting memory. For the ecological context, long lasting memories of social encounters outcomes and negative experiences of threatening situations may confer advantages that ultimately affect fishes’ fitness.  相似文献

In kittens of the age from 39 days to 4 months the influence was studied of the sensorimotor cortex (SMC) ablation on formation and preservation of previously elaborated reflex to a simultaneous complex stimulus (light + sound) with extinction of reaction to nonreinforced components of the complex signal. It is shown that SMC ablation in the age up to 2.5 months does not affect the formation or preservation of the conditioned reflex. The SMC ablation in preliminarily trained kittens in the age of 3.5 months and older leads to disinhibition of components differentiation with preservation of the positive conditioned reflex to the complex signal. In untrained kittens of the same age the SMC ablation leads to disability of animals to inhibit the motor reaction to differentiation signal. The question is discussed of SMC significance in the ontogenesis at formation of adequate forms of behaviour requiring heterosensory interaction.  相似文献

In experiments on 9 rats, the study of evoked potentials (EPs) of the CA1 field of the dorsal hippocampus to stimulation of its symmetrical part serving as a signal of drinking conditioned reflex (CR) showed that during reflex elaboration, the amplitude of the main EP components significantly decreased; CR did not appear when the population spike (PS) was absent in the hippocampal response. PS always accompanying CR was not specific only of it, it was also recorded at other behavioural reactions. Changes of fascia dentata EPs in the process of CR elaboration to stimulation of its symmetrical part consisted in decrease of the initial negative wave and increase of the positive one. The obtained data point to a significant reconstruction of excitatory and inhibitory inputs to the hippocampus and fascia dentata under the influence of conditioned activity.  相似文献

In chronic experiments on rabbits with non-polarizable electrodes shifts of steady potential level (SPL) are recorded from the brain surface during extinction of the orienting reaction and formation of a conditioned defensive reflex. During each of these processes they have their typical parameters and are respectively denoted by the author as: orienting (appearing in response to a new stimulus), conditioned (to a signal atimulus), unconditioned (to an electro-cutaneous stimulus) and trace SPL shifts (developing after stimuli pairing). Trace shifts are the earliest SPL shifts originating as a result of pairing. They are manifested more regularly, than conditioned ones, considerably exceed them in amplitude, may differ from them in their sign and reach maximum values in a few seconds after the pairing. It has been assumed that formation of conditioned temporal connections depends above all on the appearance of a new kind of activity, resulting from pairings and reflected in the SPL trace shifts. This activity possibly constitutes the neurodynamic and metabolic processes underlying memory consolidation.  相似文献

In the paper are presented the results of the study of Pyavit, a complex leech preparation from, whose effects on the memory may be dependent on DNA methylation (one of the mechanisms of gene expression regulation). Behavioral effects of neurotensin microinjections into the brain substantia nigra of rats with neurotoxic (5,7-dihydroxytryptamine) lesions of serotoninergic neurons in the dorsal raphe nucleus were studied. It was shown that neurotensin facilitated extinction of conditioned and intertrial reactions to negative (unreinforced) stimuli, but did not change the actualization of positive (with water reward) conditioned signals. Neurotensin-induced effects persisted in subsequent experiments without injections of the peptide. Neurotensin injections reduced the negative emotional states of lesioned animals in the arena during testing conditioned preference. It was concluded that the behavioral effects of neurotensin can be explained by the formation in the lesioned animals of the situational emotional state facilitating adaptive brain functions.  相似文献

Slow potentials (CNV and component P300) were recorded in the medial part of the prefrontal cortex of dogs trained to classical secretory conditioned reflex and its differentiation. CNV increased when the conditioned stimulus was preceded by a signal of different meaning, as compared with CNV to the same conditioned signal following the stimulus of the same meaning; the greatest values of CNV and P300 were observed in response to differential stimulus preceded by a positive signal.  相似文献

EEG activation can be produced by electrical stimulation of some cortical points with the same threshold current strength as by the midbrain RF and thalamic CM stimulation. Near-threshold stimulation of all these points acting simultaneously with inhibitory conditioned signals does not disturb the effector inhibition but displays an EEG difference between negative signals: the fine differentiation sound evokes considerable EEG desynchronization, while the rough one does not change the background rhythms. The same stimulation combined with a positive signal which has been made ineffective by successive inhibition or extinction, reestablishes the intensive EEG activation in response to this signal and the effector conditioned reflex. Therefore a mode-rate additional stimulation of the activating points in the cortex, RF and CM has a disinhibitory influence. When initiated in the cortex this influence may be transmitted from the cortical point to other parts of the brain along transcortical and corticofugal connections.  相似文献

Probability analysis was carried out of the appearance of single elements of rats behaviour in the process of extinction of a conditioned alimentary motor reflex. The dynamics of effector behavioural components at a sudden cessation of reinforcement (usual schedule of extinction) was compared with cessation of reinforcement signalled by a previously differentiated signal and with reinforcement cessation preceded by a stimulus initially unknown to the animal. If the reinforcement cessation is signalled by a previously differentiated (negative) stimulus, in response to its action the animals "loose the aim", what is revealed in a rapid complete reduction of all elements of the goal-directed alimentary behaviour. Obviously differentiation signal actualises the memory trace of "nonreinforcement" which was formed in the previous negative experience of the animal; this is revealed in accelerated inhibition of the alimentary motor reflex under extinction.  相似文献

On the model of shortly delayed defensive conditioned reflex in cats, it was shown in acute experiments that pharmacologically elicited change of NA system activity (clonidine, 0.2 and 1.5 mg/kg intravenously) and of DA system activity (apomorphine, 3 mg/kg intravenously) leads to a definite manifestation of electrographic correlates of memory trace, i.e. of conditioned evoked potential (EP) in examined brain structures, as well as of conditioned neurographic response (CNR) and conditioned skin-galvanic reaction (SGR). The increase of the NA system activity causes a rise of the number of conditioned EPs in the reticular formation, hippocampus and preoptic area along with an enhancement of CNR reproduction. The increase of the DA system activity contributes to the appearance of conditioned EPs in the hippocampus, amygdalar complex and central gray matter, together with an enhancement of the reproduction of conditioned SGR.  相似文献

In chronic experiments on cats it was shown that the lesion of the medial part of the septum does not result in the "septal syndrome"; the ratio of the different sleep-wakefulness cycle phases remains within the baseline values; the acquisition, retrieval and extinction of instrumental alimentary conditioned reflexes proceed normally; the delayed conditioned reflexes are impaired. Massive septal lesion, including its lateral part, leads to the development of the "septal syndrome"; there are changes in the structure and percentage of the different sleep-wakefulness cycle phases; the acquisition and extinction of instrumental alimentary reflexes with the sound discrimination are markedly retarded; the performance of delayed conditioned reflexes is completely destroyed. The section of the entorhinal cortex produces an increase in the number of repeated errors and perseverative movements during performance of instrumental alimentary reflexes, the deceleration of the acquisition and extinction of instrumental alimentary reflexes, complete disturbance of the delayed conditioned reflexes and does not affect the sleep-wakefulness cycle. The problems of the role of the hippocampus and its main inputs in the regulation of the short-term operative memory in the "pure form" as well as the significance of the descending influence of the hippocampus on the regulation of general animal behavior were also discussed.  相似文献

In analysis of neuronal activity of g. proreus of dogs brain in response to positive and differentiation conditioned cutaneous stimuli, in 44% of 78 studied neurons "late responses" appeared in the form of impulse activity intensification elicited by a positive conditioned stimulus after the end of eating and by a differentiation one--during conditioned signal action; it persisted in different neurones for 30--60 s. By means of various functional tests it has been shown that these reactions are a neurophysiological correlate of animals emotional state gradient.  相似文献

Conditioned evoked potentials to stimulation of a limb, a light flash or a short tone were studied on rats in acute experiments with nembutal anaesthesia and in chronic experiments. Electrical stimulation of the hypothalamus was used as reinforcement. Following the pairings of conditioned and hypothalamic stimulation, the appearance of conditioned EP was recorded, as manifest in the period of the previously applied unconditioned signal after its omission. Their emergence was facilitated after high-frequency stimulation of the hypothalamus or administration of galantamine, an anticholinesteraze drug. Coagulation of the hypothalamus did not prevent any manifestation of conditioned evoked potentials.  相似文献
