The genus Cryptophagus Herbst, 1792 (Coleoptera: Cryptophagidae) in Japan with description of a new species

The 17 species of the genus Cryptophagus Herbst known from Japan are analysed and revised. The opinions of different authors about the value of the characteristics of the external anatomy are contrasted, and an identification key and figures of the studied species are presented. Cryptophagus jaloszynskii sp. nov is described. Following a detailed study of the type material in different entomological collections, the status of taxa is revised and 3 new synonyms are proposed: Cryptophagus deceptor Grouvelle, 1919 and Cryptophagus longipennis Grouvelle, 1919 are syn. nov. for Cryptophagus dilutus Reitter, 1874 and Cryptophagus longiventris Grouvelle, 1919 syn. nov. for Cryptophagus latangulus Reitter, 1889. Cryptophagus elegans Grouvelle, 1919 resurrected from synonymy with Cryptophagus decoratus Reitter, 1874. A neotype is designated for Cryptophagus elegans Grouvelle, 1918; a lectotype and paralectotype is designated for 7 taxa: Cryptophagus decoratus Reitter, 1874; Cryptophagus deceptor Grouvelle, 1919; Cryptophagus grouvellei Bruce, 1938; Cryptophagus latangulus Reitter, 1889; Cryptophagus lewisi Reitter, 1874; Cryptophagus longior Grouvelle, 1919 and Cryptophagus longiventris Grouvelle, 1919. Cryptophagus zonatus Lyubarsky, 1995 previously known only from China is reported here for the first time from Japan. 采用广义的马蓝属(Strobilanthes Blume)概念,提出3个新组合:匍匐半插花(S.primulifolia(Nees)Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood),直立半插花(S.cumingiana(Forst.)Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood)和狭叶马蓝(S.atropurpurea var.stenophylla(C.B.Clarke)Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood);描述了8新种:南岭马蓝(Strobilanthes austrosinensis Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood)、冯氏马蓝(S.fengiana Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood)、陶氏马蓝(S.taoana Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood)、启无马蓝(S.wangiana Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood)、景东马蓝(S.atroviridis Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood)、西畴马蓝(S.rostrata Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood)、黄连山马蓝(S.spiciformis Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood)和匍匐马蓝(S.procumbens Y.F.DengJ.R.I.Wood)。对南岭马蓝、黄连山马蓝、景东马蓝和匍匐马蓝的花粉形态进行了观察。     

Five new species of Stenothemus Bourgeois from Guangxi,China (Coleoptera,Cantharidae)

Five new species of Stenothemus Bourgeois, 1907 from Guangxi, China are described, S. normalis sp. nov., S. flavicans sp. nov., S. nigripennis sp. nov., S. elongaticeps sp. nov. and S. maculaticollis sp. nov.. They are illustrated with habitus photos and aedeagi of males, also abdominal sternites VIII and internal genitalia of females. A key for the identification of the above species is provided.     

A new species of the genus Laboulbenia (Laboulbeniales) on Ophionea indica (Coleoptera, Carabidae, Odacanthini) from Taiwan

Laboulbenia ophioneae is described as a new species with illustrations. It is closely related to Laboulbenia celestialis and Laboulbenia asiatica because of some similarities in the morphology of appendages and perithecia. The present species from the latter two species can be distinguished by the shorter, inflated perithecia, the shorter receptacles, and the appendages consisting of more or less darkly colored, broader branches. This new species was found on elytra of Ophionea indica from Taiwan, which has been also known as a host of Laboulbenia polymorpha. A mature thallus noticed by Terada (2004) on the slide 673b (M. Ishikawa collection) and a young thallus illustrated by Sugiyama (1978, fig. 1-G as L. polymorpha) on 673d (M. Ishikawa collection) are both identified as L. ophioneae.     

Two new species of Quedius Stephens, subgenus Raphirus Stephens from Yunnan, Southwest China (Coleoptera, Staphylinidae, Staphylinini)

Two new species of the genus Quedius Stephens collected from Nabanhe Nature Reserve, Yunnan Province, Quedius nabanhensissp. n. and Quedius maoxingisp. n., are described and illustrated. Keys to the multipunctatus group and intricatus group of Quedius species of Yunnan are provided. A map of the collecting sites is given.     

Taxonomy notes on Vandeae (Orchidaceae) from China: Five new species and two new records

Five new species (Gastrochilus yei, Gastrochilus minimus, Luisia simaoensis, Taeniophyllum xizangense, Tuberolabium subulatum) and two newly recorded species (Cleisostoma tricornutum, Luisia inconspicua) of Vandeae (Orchidaceae) from China are described and illustrated. Gastrochilus yei is similar to G. affinis and G. nepalensis, but differs from them by having an epichile not lobed, the apex of the hypochile not bilobed, and a tine on the apex of the leaf. Gastrochilus minimus is similar to G. acinacifolius, but can be distinguished from the latter by having a flabellate epichile that is densely hirsute on the adaxial surface and an inconspicuous central cushion; in addition, the hypochile of G. minimus has a keel that extends to the apex of the epichile. Taeniophyllum xizangense is similar to T. stella and T. radiatum, but it is distinguished from them by having much bigger flowers, inflorescences densely covered with short-bristly hairs, papillae on the external surface of sepals, and bigger triangular-ovate viscidium. Luisia simaoensis is similar to L. magniflora and L. ramosii, but can be easily distinguished from them by having lateral sepals longer than dorsal sepals and petals, lip with irregular and waved margins, and lip with bilobed apex. Luisia inconspicua is moved from Gastrochilus to Luisia based on phylogenetic analyses of plastid matK sequence data. Tuberolabium subulatum is similar to T. carnosum, but it can be easily distinguished from the latter by having an inflorescence much shorter than the leaves, yellow sepals and petals, and many small papillae outside the lip lobes.     

中国硅藻化石新种和新记录种

在对江汉平原钻孔中的化石硅藻进行鉴定时,发现1个新种类：江汉异极藻（新种）Gomphonema jianghanensis sp.nov.,该种的主要特征为：壳面狭披针形或线性披针形,端部和基部圆形,中轴区窄。中心区宽呈横矩形,在紧靠中心区的一侧具1条很短的线纹,另一侧有时有1条很短的线纹,有时没有线纹,无孤点。壳缝呈直线,在中央区附近略弯向一侧,在极节处折向另一侧。线纹轻微放射状,中部略弯曲,在近顶端处没有线纹,在10μm内,中部具6—13条。长20—30μm,宽4—7μm。4个中国新记录属：楔异极藻属Gomphosphenia Lange-Bertalot、楔月藻属（新记录属）Cymbopleura Krammer、优美藻属Delicata Krammer、尖月藻属Encyonopsis Krammer,8个中国新记录种：微小异极藻Gomphonema minutiforme Lange-Bertalot＆Reichardt、较细楔异极藻Gomphosphenia tenerrima（Hustedt）Reichardt、舌状楔异极藻Gomphosphenia lingulatiforme（Hustedt）Lange-Bertalot、瑞克舟形藻Navicula rakowskae Lange-Bertalot、北方羽纹藻岛屿变种Pinnularia borealis var.islandica Lange-Bertalot,舟形盖斯勒藻Geissleria tectissima（Lange-Bertalot）Lange-Bertalot＆Metaeltin、岩生楔月藻小变种Cymbopleura rupicola var.minor Krammer和法国尖月藻Encyonopsis falaisensis（Grunow）Krammer,1个种的补充说明：中华优美藻Delicata sinensis Krammer ＆ Metzetin。     

New data on the Paederus biacutus species group from mainland China (Coleoptera,Staphylinidae, Paederinae)

Paederus jianyueae Peng & Li, sp. n. (Zhejiang: Qingliangfeng) is described and illustrated. Additional records of P. biacutus Li, Zhou & Solodovnikov, 2014 and P. parvidenticulatus Li, Zhou & Solodovnikov, 2014 are reported.     

New and little known species of the genus Zorochros Thomson 1859 (Coleoptera: Elateridae) from Palaearctic and Oriental Region

Sixteen new species of the genus Zorochros Thomson 1859 from China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal and Thailand are described and illustrated, a key to the species of the Zorochros indicus group is given, and new records on already known species are provided. New species: Z. ahrensi n. sp., Z bingkorensis n. sp., Z. dabieshanensis n. sp., Z. dolini n. sp., Z. hartmanni n. sp., Z. hubeiensis n. sp., Z. karnaliensis n. sp., Z. magnificus n. sp., Z. naniensis n. sp., Z. nigredos n. sp., Z. platiai n. sp., Z schawalleri n. sp., Z. schmidti n. sp., Z. senaroensis n. sp., Z. theodori n. sp., and Z. tongshanensis n. sp.     

New species and new records of diatoms from Lake Fuxian,China

Abstract One new species, four newly recorded genera, and two newly recorded species of diatoms are described from China. They are Sellaphora fuxianensis sp. nov. Li, Sellaphora Mereschkowsky, Karayevia Round & Bukhtiyarova, Placoneis Mereschkowsky, Fallacia Stickle & Mann, Placoneis prespanensis Levkov, Krstic & Nakov, and Fallacia lucinensis (Hustedt) D. G. Mann. All taxa were collected from Lake Fuxian in Yunnan Province, China. These species were observed with light and scanning electron microscopes, and their taxonomic characters are discussed.

报道了文字衣属Graphis 2个新种和2个中国新记录种。新种疣体文字衣Graphis verrucata 和魏氏文字衣 G. weii分别采自四川和海南;新记录种钝盘文字衣Graphis cognata采自海南和浙江,树突文字衣G. dendrogramma采自福建。文中对新种提供了详细描述和显微结构图片。     

Two new false click-beetles from China (Coleoptera: Elateroidae: Eucnemidae)

Thambus planifrons Muona & Meng sp. nov. and Otho rutriclypeus Muona & Meng sp. nov. are described from China. Both genera are recorded for the first time from China. Except for the European T. friwaldszkyi Bonvouloir, 1871, and the Japanese T. curvicaria Hisamatsu, 1956, all other previously known species belonging to Otho were from the Americas. New species of the pleasing lacewing genus Dilar Rambur, 1838 (Neuroptera,Dilaridae) from the Hengduan Mountains,southwestern China

The genus Dilar Rambur, 1838 (Neuroptera, Dilaridae) is the most species-rich genus of the family Dilaridae and is diverse in China, previously with 32 described species. Here we report two new species of Dilar from the southern part of the Hengduan Mountains, Sichuan, southwestern China, namely Dilar muliensis sp. nov. and Dilar punctulosus sp. nov. New species and new faunistic records of the family Meloidae Gyllenhal, 1810 (Coleoptera: Tenebrionoidea) from China,with a list of meloid species from Xinjiang

Mylabris (Eumylabris) bolognai Pan sp. nov. is described and illustrated. Meanwhile, one newly recorded subgenus, Meloe (Meloegonius) Reitter, 1911, and two newly recorded species, Meloe (Meloegonius) cicatricosus Leach, 1815 and Mylabris (Argabris) impedita impedita (Heyden, 1883), from China are reported and illustrated. Furthermore, a list of meloid species from Xinjiang is carried out, and Euzonitis quadrimaculata (Pallas, 1782) is newly recorded from Xinjiang.     

New species and records of Parametriocnemus Goetghebuer from China (Diptera,Chironomidae)

The Chinese species of Parametriocnemus Goetghebuer are reviewed. Two species, Parametriocnemus fortissp. n. and Parametriocnemus vittatussp. n. are described and illustrated as males, and Parametriocnemus ornaticornis (Kieffer), Parametriocnemus scotti (Freeman) and Parametriocnemus brundini Sinharay & Chaudhuri are recorded from China for the first time. The species of the genus Micrambe Thomson 1863, from South Africa (Coleoptera: Cryptophagidae)

The 22 species of the genus Micrambe Thomson known from South Africa are analyzed and revised. Micrambe danielssoni sp. nov is described. Following a detailed study of the type material in different entomological collections, the status of two taxa is revised and two new synonymies are proposed: Micrambe kolbei Grouvelle 1908, syn. nov. for Micrambe minuta Grouvelle 1908, and Micrambe similis Bruce 1957, syn. nov. for Micrambe peringueyi Grouvelle 1908. A lectotypus is designated for one taxon: Micrambe capensis (Redtenbacher 1867). A key to all the species occurring in South Africa is presented.     

A new species of Goera Stephens, 1829 (Goeridae: Trichoptera) from the Solomon Islands

Male and female of Goera pitisopai sp. nov. from the Solomon Islands are illustrated and described based on recently collected material. This is the first species of the family Goeridae reported from the Solomon Islands, and the sixth from the Australasian region.     

Two new species of Paraclius from China (Diptera,Dolichopodidae)

Thirty-one species of Paraclius Loew were known to occur in China. In this paper, two species are described as new to science: Paraclius ventralis sp. nov. and Paraclius wutongshanus sp. nov. 本文记述了棒柄泥蜂属1新种：异色棒柄泥蜂Rhopalum(Rhopalum)varicoloratum.sp.nov.模式标本分别保存在浙江农业大学昆虫标本室和中国科学院动物研究所昆虫标本馆。
