Growth of 2-month-old nonnodulatedHippophaë rhamnoides seedlings supplied with combined N was compared with that of nodulated seedlings grown on zero N. Plant growth was significantly better with combined N than with N2 fixation and, although not statistically significant for individual harvests, tended to be highest in the presence of NH 4 + , a mixture of NH 4 + and NO 3 ? producing the highest yields. Growth was severely reduced when solely dependent on N2 fixation and, unlike the combined-N plants, shoot to root ratios had only slightly increased after an initial decrease. An apparently insufficient nodule mass (nodule weight ratio <5 per cent) during the greater part of the experimental period is suggested as the main cause of the growth reduction in N2-fixing plants. Thein vivo nitrate reductase activity (NRA) of NO 3 ? dependent plants was almost entirely located in the roots. However, when grown with a combination of NO 3 ? and NH 4 + , root NRA was decreased by approximately 85 per cent.H. rhamnoides demonstrated in the mixed supply a strong preference for uptake of N as NH 4 + , NO 3 ? contributing only for approximately 20 per cent to the total N assimilation. Specific rates of N acquisition and ion uptake were generally highest in NO 3 ? +NH 4 + plants. The generation of organic anions per unit total plant dry weight was approximately 40 per cent less in the NH 4 + plants than in the NO 3 ? plants. Measured extrusions of H+ or OH? (HCO 3 ? ) were generally in good agreement with calculated values on the basis of plant composition, and the acidity generated with N2 fixation amounted to 0.45–0.55 meq H+. (mmol Norg)?1. Without acidity control and in the presence of NH 4 + , specific rates of ion uptake and carboxylate generation were strongly depressed and growth was reduced by 30–35 per cent. Growth of nonnodulatedH. rhamnoides plants ceased at the lower pH limit of 3.1–3.2 and deterioration set in; in the case of N2-fixing plants the nutrient solution pH stabilized at a value of 3.8–3.9 without any apparent adverse effects upon plant performance. The chemical composition of experimental and field-growing plants is being compared and some comments are made on the nitrogen supply characteristics of their natural sites.  相似文献

After growth for 17 to 36 days on nutrient solutions with NH4NO3 as nitrogen source (pH 4.2) dry matter of sorghum genotype SC0283 was much less affected by Al (1.5 and 3.0 ppm) than that of genotype NB9040. In the absence of Al both cultivars released protons into the nutrient solution as a result of an excess of cationic nutrients taken up. When Al was present, this proton efflux per unit dry weight increased drastically, especially with the sensitive genotype NB9040. Chemical analysis of plant material and continuous analyses of NO 3 and NH 4 + in the nutrient solution indicated, that the Al-induced shift in H+-balance of both genotypes could almost completely be attributed to a decreased NO 3 /NH 4 + uptake ratio. In vivo nitrate reductase activity (NRA) was reduced in the shoot of NB9040 and to a lesser degree in SC0283. Al-induced decrease in NRA was accompanied by similar percentual decreases in NO 3 tissue concentrations. Therefore this decrease is interpreted as being indirect,i.e., the consequence of the reduced NO 3 uptake of the plants. A direct repression of NRA by Al seems also unlikely because nitrate reductase activity of the roots (where cellular Al-concentrations should be higher than in shoots) was not affected in Al-treated plants of either genotype.  相似文献

Summary The rate of acetylene reduction by detached nodules of Alnus and Hippophaë was found to be correlated with temperature between 4 and 20°C, and with oxygen tension between 1 and 15 per cent O2. No further increase in rate occurred in nodules of either species when the oxygen tension was increased to 20 percent. Alnus continued to reduce acetylene for at least 20 hours after detachment provided that the ratio of the volume of gas phase to sample size was large: if the ratio was small reduction stopped earlier, and would only restart if the gas phase was completely reflushed.  相似文献

The effect of NH4+/NO3 availability on nitrate reductase (NR) activity in Phragmites australis and Glyceria maxima was studied in sand and water cultures with the goal to characterise the relationship between NR activity and NO3 availability in the rhizosphere and to describe the extent to which NH4+ suppresses the utilization of NO3 in wetland plants.The NR activity data showed that both wetland helophytes are able to utilize NO3. This finding was further supported by sufficient growth observed under the strict NO3 nutrition. The distribution of NR activity within plant tissues differed between species. Phragmites was proved to be preferential leaf NO3 reducer with high NR activity in leaves (NRmax > 6.5 μmol NO2 g dry wt−1 h−1) under all N treatments, and therefore Phragmites seems to be good indicator of NO3 availability in flooded sediment. In the case of Glyceria the contribution of roots to plant NO3 reduction was higher, especially in sand culture. Glyceria also tended to accumulate NO3 in non-reduced form, showing generally lower leaf NR activity levels. Thus, the NR activity does not necessarily correspond with plant ability to take up NO3 and grow under NO3-N source. Moreover, the species differed significantly in the content of compounds interfering with NR activity estimation. Glyceria, but not Phragmites, contained cyanogenic glycosides releasing cyanide, the potent NR inhibitor. It clearly shows that the use of NR activity as a marker of NO3 utilization in individual plant species is impossible without the precise method optimisation.  相似文献

Nitrate reductase in spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) leaves was rapidly inactivated in the dark and reactivated by light, whereas in pea (Pisum sativum L.), roots, hyperoxic conditions caused inactivation, and anoxia caused reactivation. Reactivation in vivo, both in leaves and roots, was prohibited by high concentrations (10–30 M) of the serine/threonine-protein phosphatase inhibitors okadaic acid or calyculin, consistent with the notion that protein dephosphorylation catalyzed by type-1 or type-2A phosphatases was the mechanism for the reactivation of NADH-nitrate reductase (NR). Following inactivation of leaf NR in vivo, spontaneous reactivation in vitro (in desalted extracts) was slow, but was drastically accelerated by removal of Mg2+ with excess ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), or by desalting in a buffer devoid of Mg2+. Subsequent addition of either Mg2+, Mn2+ or Ca2+ inhibited the activation of NR in vitro. Reactivation of NR (at pH 7.5) in vitro in the presence of Mg2+ was also accelerated by millimolar concentrations of AMP or other nucleoside monophosphates. The EDTA-mediated reactivation in desalted crude extracts was completely prevented by protein-phosphatase inhibitors whereas the AMP-mediated reaction was largely unaffected by these toxins. The Mg2+-response profile of the AMP-accelerated reactivation suggested that okadaic acid, calyculin and microcystin-LR were rather ineffective inhibitors in the presence of divalent cations. However, with partially purified enzyme preparations (5–15% polyethyleneglycol fraction) the AMPmediated reactivation was also inhibited (65–80%) by microcystin-LR. Thus, the dephosphorylation (activation) of NR in vitro is inhibited by divalent cations, and protein phosphatases of the PP1 or PP2A type are involved in both the EDTA and AMP-stimulated reactions. Evidence was also obtained that divalent cations may regulate NR-protein phosphatase activity in vivo. When spinach leaf slices were incubated in Mg2+ -and Ca2+-free buffer solutions in the dark, extracted NR was inactive. After addition of the Ca2+ /Mg2+-ionophore A 23187 plus EDTA to the leaf slices, NR was activated in the dark. It was again inactivated upon addition of divalent cations (Mg2+ or Ca2+). It is tentatively suggested that Mg2+ fulfills several roles in the regulatory system of NR: it is required for active NR-protein kinase, it inactivates the protein phosphatase and is, at the same time, necessary to keep phospho-NR in the inactive state. The EDTA- and AMP-mediated reactivation of NR in vitro had different pH optima, suggesting that two different protein phosphatases may be involved. At pH 6.5, the activation of NR was relatively slow and the addition or removal of Mg2+ had no effect. However, 5-AMP was a potent activator of the reaction with an apparent K m of 0.5 mM. There was also considerable specificity for 5AMP relative to 3- or 2-AMP or other nucleoside monophoposphates. Emerging evidence has shown that podocyte injury and reduced specific podocyte protein expressions contribute to proteinuria in preeclampsia. We collected urine specimens from women with preeclampsia to study whether podocyte-specific protein shedding is associated with renal barrier dysfunction. Urine specimens from women with normal pregnancies and from pregnant women complicated by chronic hypertension were used for comparison. We determined soluble podocyte slit protein nephrin levels in the urine specimens. Podocalyxin, βig-h3, and VEGF concentrations were also measured. We found that nephrin and podocalyxin were barely detectable in the urine specimens from normal pregnant women and from women with chronic hypertension. In preeclampsia, urinary nephrin and podocalyxin concentrations were significantly increased and highly correlated to each other, r(2) = 0.595. Nephrin and podocalyxin were also correlated with urine protein concentrations. βig-h3 was detected in the urine specimens from women with preeclampsia, and it is highly correlated with nephrin and podocalyxin concentrations in preeclampsia. βig-h3 was undetectable in normal pregnancy and pregnancy complicated by chronic hypertension. Elevated VEGF levels were also found in women with preeclampsia compared with those of normal pregnancy and pregnancy complicated by chronic hypertension. These results provide strong evidence that podocyte protein shedding occurs in preeclampsia, and their levels are associated with proteinuria. The finding of urinary βig-h3 excretion in preeclampsia suggests that increased transforming growth factor activity might also be involved in the kidney lesion in this pregnancy disorder.  相似文献

The present study evaluated the effect of increasing supplementation of all-rac-α-tocopheryl acetate and dietary fatty acid composition during a four week period after weaning on porcine tissue composition of α-tocopherol stereoisomers and fatty acids, and on hepatic expression of genes involved in transfer of α-tocopherol, and oxidation and metabolism of fatty acids. From day 28 to 56 of age, pigs were provided 5% of tallow, fish oil or sunflower oil and 85, 150, or 300 mg/kg of all-rac-α-tocopheryl acetate. Samples of liver, heart, and adipose tissue were obtained from littermates at day 56. Tissue fatty acid composition was highly influenced by dietary fat sources. Dietary fatty acid composition (P<0.001) and vitamin E supplementation (P<0.001) influenced the α-tocopherol stereoisomer composition in liver, i.e. less proportion of the RRR-α-tocopherol was observed in pigs provided fish oil and the highest dose of vitamin E in comparison with other dietary treatments. In addition, the stereoisomer composition of α-tocopherol in heart, and adipose tissue was influenced by dietary treatments. Expression of genes in liver involved in the regulation of FA conversion, SCD (P=0.002) and D6D (P=0.04) were lower in pigs fed fish oil compared to other treatments, whereas the fatty acid oxidation, as indicated by the expression of PPAR-α, was higher when sunflower and fish oil was provided (P=0.03). Expression of α-TTP in liver was higher in pigs fed fish oil (P=0.01). Vitamin E supplementation did not influence significantly the hepatic gene expression.  相似文献

The acid-base properties of γ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinyl-glycine (glutathione, GSH) were determined by potentiometry (ISE-H(+), glass electrode) in pure NaI((aq)) and in NaCl((aq))/MgCl(2(aq)), and NaCl((aq))/CaCl(2(aq)) mixtures, at T = 298.15 K and different ionic strengths (up to I(c) ~ 5.0 mol L(-1)). In addition, the activity coefficients of glutathione were also determined by the distribution method at the same temperature in various ionic media (LiCl((aq)), NaCl((aq)), KCl((aq)), CsCl((aq)), MgCl(2(aq)), CaCl(2(aq)), NaI((aq))). The results obtained were also used to calculate the Specific ion Interaction Theory (SIT) and Pitzer coefficients for the dependence on medium and ionic strength of glutathione species, as well as the formation constants of weak Mg(j)H( i )(GSH)((i+2j-3)) and Ca(j)H(i)(GSH)((i+2j-3)) complexes. Direct calorimetric titrations were also carried out in pure NaCl((aq)) and in NaCl((aq))/CaCl(2(aq)) mixtures at different ionic strengths (0.25 ≤ I (c )/mol L(-1) ≤ 5.0) in order to determine the enthalpy changes for the protonation and complex formation equilibria in these media at T = 298.15 K. Results obtained are useful for the definition of glutathione speciation in any aqueous media containing the main cations of natural waters and biological fluids, such as Na(+), K(+), Mg(2+), and Ca(2+). Finally, this kind of systematic studies, where a series of ionic media (e.g., all alkali metal chlorides) is taken into account in the determination of various thermodynamic parameters, is useful for the definition of some trends in the thermodynamic behavior of glutathione in aqueous solution.  相似文献

The study aims to characterize the pharmacokinetic, tissue distribution, excretion, and antiviral activity properties of a novel pegylated recombinant human consensus interferon-α variant (PEG-IFN-SA) following a single subcutaneous administration to monkeys, rats and guinea pigs. Studies included: (1) pharmacokinetic properties of PEG-IFN-SA and comparison with those of non-pegylated IFN-SA in rhesus monkeys and rats; (2) tissue distribution and urinary, fecal, and biliary excretion patterns of (125)I-PEG-IFN-SA in guinea pigs; and (3) antiviral activity assessment of PEG-IFN-SA in cynomolgus monkeys. The pegylated protein exhibited improved pharmacokinetic properties compared to IFN-SA in both monkeys and rats, with a 12-fold and 15-fold increase in elimination half-life, and a 100-fold and 10-fold decrease in serum clearance, as well as a 2.5-fold and 10-fold increase in the time to reach peak serum concentration, respectively. (125)I-PEG-IFN-SA was found to be distributed to most of the tissues examined and has character of targeting special distribution, and urinary appeared to be a major route for the excretion of PEG-IFN-SA in guinea pigs. Serum sample analysis from PEG-IFN-SA-treated monkeys showed dose-dependent antiviral activity for one week. These findings demonstrate that pegylation of IFN-SA results in more desirable pharmacokinetic properties, enhanced drug exposure and sustained-efficacy of in vivo antiviral action.  相似文献

Bacteriophages are the most abundant and genetically diverse viruses on Earth, with complex ecology in both quantitative and qualitative terms. Somatic coliphages (SC) have been reported to be good indicators of fecal pollution in seawater. This study focused on determining the concentration of SC and their diversity by electron microscopy of seawater, plankton, and bivalve samples collected at three coastal regions in São Paulo, Brazil. The SC counts varied from <1 to 3.4 × 103 PFU/100 ml in seawater (73 samples tested), from <1 to 4.7 × 102 PFU/g in plankton (46 samples tested), and from <1 to 2.2 × 101 PFU/g in bivalves (11 samples tested). In seawater samples, a relationship between the thermotolerant coliforms and Escherichia coli and SC was observed at the three regions (P = 0.0001) according to the anthropogenic activities present at each region. However, SC were found in plankton samples from three regions: Baixada Santista (17/20), Canal de São Sebastião (6/14), and Ubatuba (3/12). In seawater samples collected from Baixada Santista, four morphotypes were observed: A1 (4.5%), B1 (50%), C1 (36.4%), and D1 (9.1%). One coliphage, Siphoviridae type T1, had the longest tail: between 939 and 995 nm. In plankton samples, Siphoviridae (65.8%), Podoviridae (15.8%), Microviridae (15.8%), and Myoviridae (2.6%) were found. In bivalves, only the morphotype B1 was observed. These SC were associated with enteric hosts: enterobacteria, E. coli, Proteus, Salmonella, and Yersinia. Baixada Santista is an area containing a high level of fecal pollution compared to those in the Canal de São Sebastião and Ubatuba. This is the first report of coliphage diversity in seawater, plankton, and bivalve samples collected from São Paulo coastal regions. A better characterization of SC diversity in coastal environments will help with the management and evaluation of the microbiological risks for recreation, seafood cultivation, and consumption.  相似文献

The quantity of -l-fucosidase activity in human serum is determined by heredity. An individual may inherit either low, intermediate, or high serum enzyme activity. An enzyme-linked immunoabsorbent assay has been developed that can detect 0.3 ng of -l-fucosidase protein. Enzyme protein in serum of 102 individuals ranged from 20 to 835 ng/ml. The group included individuals with low, intermediate, and high enzyme activity. The specific activity of -l-fucosidase within this group was statistically the same (mean±SD=11,002±1051 U/mg). Thus, individuals with low and intermediate enzyme activity in serum had lower amounts of enzyme protein with the same specific activity as in individuals with high enzyme activity. Fucosidosis is a rare inherited disease in which -l-fucosidase activity in tissues and body fluids is low or absent. The concentrations of enzyme protein in sera of a fucosidosis patient and parents were 76, 565, and 604 ng/ml, respectively, and the specific activities of enzyme were 1316, 8938, and 8858 U/mg, respectively. Thus, the fucosidosis serum probably contained a structurally altered enzyme with reduced catalytic activity. The somewhat low specific activities in the parents suggested that their sera contained both structurally altered and normal protein.This research was supported by National Institutes of Health Grants AM 32161 and GM 31425.  相似文献

β-Galactosidase activity of Escherichia coli was investigated in response to long-term starvation, changes in temperature and the presence of certain nutrient sources in lake water. β-Galactosidase activity decreased markedly in filtered-autoclaved lake water at 25 °C and 37 °C, whereas it remained almost constant at 4 °C and 15 °C for 60 days. Increases in β-galactosidase activity were observed in response to the following nutrient sources: glycine, serine, methionine and ammonium sulfate at 4 °C; glycine and ammonium sulfate at 15 °C; glycine, serine, methionine and ammonium sulfate at 30 °C. Glycine addition led to an increase in β-galactosidase activity of almost five and seven orders of magnitude at 15 °C and 30 °C, respectively. In addition, L-methionine had the strongest influence on β-galactosidase activity, which was detected as an increase of seven and eleven orders of magnitude at 4 °C and 30 °C, respectively. The effect of several amino acids and other nitrogen sources depended on the concentration of the nutrient source and the temperature. The results showed that, in lake water, long-term starvation, temperature change, and variations in nitrogen sources alter β-galactosidase activity. Summary Ammonium and asparagine produced a concentration-dependent reduction of cephamycin C biosynthesis by Streptomyces lactamdurans. Addition of ammonium salts at 1 mM concentration reduced cephamycin biosynthesis by resting cells of S. lactamdurans, whereas concentrations of asparagine above 10 mM were required to get the same effect. High ammonium concentrations decreased glutamine synthetase activity in cell extracts of S. lactamdurans in parallel to the reduction of antibiotic biosynthesis. Ammonium supplementation decreased the pool of glutamic acid and glutamine whereas the intracellular content of ammonium, alanine, and phosphoserine increased significantly. The pool of the tripeptide (l--aminoadipyl)-l-cysteinyl-d-valine, an intermediate in cephamycin biosynthesis, was greatly reduced in ammonium-supplemented cultures. Isopenicillin N synthetase, that converts the tripeptide (l--aminoadipyl)-l-cysteinyl-d-valine to isopenicillin N, isopenicillin N isomerase (that isomerises isopenicillin N to penicillin N) and deacetoxycephalosporin C synthetase (converting penicillin N into deacetoxycephalosporin C) were also reduced in ammonium-supplemented cultures. However, the activities of these enzymes were not inhibited in vitro by 40 mM ammonium, suggesting that the enzymes were repressed but not inhibited by ammonium in vivo.  相似文献

Aims Understanding the effects of soil microorganism at different elevations on plant C:N:P stoichiometry can help us to understand the plant-soil interactions in the context of climate change. Our aim was to quantify the independent and interactive effects of soil microbial communities and temperatures on the C, N, and P in the leaves of Dodonaea viscosa-a global widespread species. Methods Rhizosphere soils of D. viscosa were collected from two elevation zones in Yuanmou County, Yunnan Province. A 2 × 3 factorial experiment with six replications was conducted using climate chambers. The leaf C, N and P contents and the soil properties were measured after three months of the treatments. Important findings Compared with the autoclaved treatment, inoculated rhizosphere soils from both high and low elevations had higher nutrient absorption, especially P uptake. Temperature produced no significant effect on leaf C:N:P stoichiometry, but the interactive effect of temperature and microbial treatment appeared significant. For inoculated rhizosphere soils from high elevation, temperature had no significant effect on leaf C:N:P stoichiometry. For inoculated rhizosphere soils from low elevation, leaf N and P contents under low temperature were significantly lower than those with warmer soils. The promoting effect of soil microorganisms on nutrient uptake may be due to the direct effect of beneficial microorganisms (e.g., mycorrhizal fungi), but not through the alteration of nutrient cycling process. Because D. viscosa in the inoculated rhizosphere soils absorbed more N and P from the soil than those in autoclaved soil, the available N and P in inoculated rhizosphere soils were lower than those in autoclaved soils. As predicted future temperature will be lower in the studied region, the growth of D. viscosa may be negatively affected through plant-microbe feedbacks.  相似文献

The objectives of this study were to examine the association between urinary excretion of cadmium (U-Cd), copper (U-Cu), and zinc (U-Zn) and the severity of two different indicators of renal toxicity (urinary excretion of beta2-microglobulin [U-beta2-MG] and metallothionein [U-MT]) in Cd-exposed subjects compared to controls, and to assess the physiologic mechanisms by which the exposure to environmental Cd affects U-Cd, U-Cu, and U-Zn. The target population included 3508 Cd-exposed and 294 nonexposed participants who received a health survey conducted among the population of the Kakehashi River basin. Increases of U-Cd, U-beta2-MG, and U-MT in the Cd-exposed population were observed relative to excretion of these substances in controls. Regression analysis using a general linear model revealed that the correlations between U-Cd or U-Cu, and U-beta2-MG and between U-Cd, U-Cu or U-Zn, and U-MT were statistically significant in both sexes, but the correlation between U-Zn and U-beta2-MG excretion was significant only in men. These results suggest U-Cd and U-Cu is affected by dysfunction in renal tubular absorption (indicated by U-beta2-MG), whereas not only U-Cd and U-Cu but also U-Zn appear to be a function of renal cellular desquamation (indicated by U-MT).  相似文献

Summary The 5′-AMPase activity of the ectoenzyme 5′-nucleotidase has been measured in a variety of cell lines, using intact cells. Human cell types showed two orders of magnitude higher enzyme activity than mouse cell lines. The ectoenzyme is inhibited by adenosine 5′-(α,β-methylene) diphosphate and Concanavalin A. A different extent of 5′-nucleotidase lectin inhibition was observed in the studied cell lines, suggesting that the corresponding ectoenzymes are glycoproteins with a different type or degree, or both, of glycosylation. The 5′-nucleotidase activity increased during subculture and decreased after cell transformation. Generally, the 5′-nucleotidase activity was two-to five-fold higher in monolayer than in suspension cell culture. A relation between cell growth and 5′-AMPase activity was also observed. Enzyme activity increased at the end of the lag phase (glioblastoma cells) or during the exponential phase (the other two cell lines). After confluence, the activity decreased to the initial or even lower range of activity. Observed activity variations with cell proliferation correlate with modifications of 5′-AMPase activity during subculture. This work was supported by grant no. Wether lambs were fed on precision-chopped first-cut ryegrass silage ad libitum in an intake trial, and a maintenance and 1.5 times maintenance in balance trials.The untreated and treated silages had pH values of 4.72 and 4.40, mean dry matter (DM) contents of 176 and 184 g kg?1 and mean gross energy (GE) contents of 18.8 and 19.0 MJ/kg DM, respectively.Mean digestibility coefficients of DM (0.787 and 0.783), organic matter (OM) (0.827 and 0.820) and GE (0.794 and 0.793), for the treated and untreated silages respectively, were high. The metabolisable energy (ME) contents of the untreated and treated silages were 12.52 and 12.76 MJ/kg DM at maintenance and 11.94 and 12.56 MJ/kg DM at 1.5 times maintenance, respectively. The mean efficiency of utilisation of ME of the untreated and treated silages was 0.65 and 0.66 for maintenance (km) and 0.34 ± 0.134 and 0.40 ± 0.069 for growth (kg), respectively; the kg values were lower than expected.Dry matter intakes of these silages when given ad libitum were 27.9 and 28.8 g/kg W per day and produced live weight gains of 129 and 140 g day?1 for the untreated and treated silages, respectively. These gains were similar to predicted values for live weight gain only when the experimentally determined kg and km values were substituted in the equation of the Agricultural Research Council (1980) used for calculating the daily metabolisable energy requirements for live weight gain.  相似文献

The alkaline and acid phosphatases in larvae of the euryhaline mosquito, Aëdes togoi Theobald, were measured and the distribution of alkaline phosphatase was examined histochemically. The optima pH for alkaline and acid phosphatases in the larvae were ≈9.0 and 3.2. respectively. The thorax region showed the highest activity of alkaline phosphatase. The enzyme activity of the thorax of seawater adapted larvae was about twice as high as that of freshwater larvae. When the larvae were transferred from fresh water to sea water, the alkaline phosphatase activity of the thorax increased greatly for 3 days, and thereafter decreased to the normal level of sea-water adapted larvae within seven days. In larvae transferred from sea water to fresh water, the activity of the thorax decreased gradually and after 7 days remained at the level of freshwater adapted larvae. No change in acid phosphatase activity was detected following transfer of the larvae from fresh water to sea water or vice versa. A strong alkaline phosphatase reaction was found only in the luminal border of the gastric caeca in the thorax region. The locality of this enzyme did not vary according to the salinity of environmental water.The activity change of alkaline phosphatase of the gastric caeca is discussed in relation to the absorption of the ingested medium from the gastric caeca.  相似文献
