Partial trisomy 4q and perhaps monosomy 8qter was observed in a malformed girl, due to malsegregation of a t(4;18)(q26;q23)mat. Her phenotype was in agreement with the partial trisomy 4q syndrome, and she died 5 months after birth.  相似文献

We describe an 8-years old female with supernumerary chromosome der(21)t(4;21)(q25;q22) resulting in partial trisomy 4q25-qter and partial trisomy 21(pter-q22). The extra material was originated from a reciprocal balanced translocation carrier mother (4q;21q). Karyotyping was confirmed by FISH using whole chromosome painting probes for 4 and 21q and using 21q22.13-q22.2 specific probe to rule out trisomy of Down syndrome critical region. Phenotypic and cytogenetic findings were compared with previously published cases of partial trisomy 4q and 21q. Our patient had the major criteria of distal trisomy 4q namely severe psychomotor retardation, growth retardation, microcephaly, hearing impairment, specific facies (broad nasal root, hypertelorism, ptosis, narrow palpebral fissures, long eye lashes, long philtrum, carp like mouth and malformed ears) and thumbs and minor feet anomalies. In spite of detection of most of the 3 copies of chromosome 21, specific features of Down syndrome (DS) were lacked in this patient, except for notable bilateral symmetrical calcification of basal ganglia. This report represents further delineation of the phenotype-genotype correlation of trisomy 4q syndrome. It also supports that DS phenotype is closely linked to 21q22. Nevertheless, presence of basal ganglia calcification in this patient may point out to a more proximal region contributing in its development in DS, or that genes outside the critical region may influence or control manifestations of DS features.  相似文献

In this report we summarize the findings in a prenatally diagnosed male fetus with 15q2 trisomy. The craniofacial findings were identical to those in liveborn patients with this type of partial autosomal trisomy. A short review of the 15q2 trisomy syndrome is presented.  相似文献

The phenotype of a girl at age of 12 years with a partial trisomy 4q caused by unique direct duplication 4q27 --> q31.3 included the thick, broad and straight eyebrows, upward slanting palpebral fissures, a deep-set eyes, narrow bridge and long back of the nose, flattened philtrum columns, narrow of vermilion borders of both upper and lower lips, protrusion of maxillary alveolar processus and anterior teeth together with shortened and posteriorly situated mandible, malocclusion corresponding with II class of Angle and long fingers, narrowing towards distal phalanges has been described. Further investigations are needed to delineate the clinical spectrum of features essential for partial trisomy 4q.  相似文献

We report a male patient with a karyotype of 46,XY, der(4)t(1;4)(q42.1;q35.1) inherited from a maternal balanced translocation involving chromosome 1q and 4q. The boy had corpus callosum dysgenesis, laryngomalacia, tracheobronchus, facial dysmorphism, simian creases, and developmental retardation. The first three features are unique compared to previous literature reports on distal partial trisomy 1q. This case report allows a further delineation of the distal partial trisomy 1q syndrome.  相似文献

We report a recurrent partial monosomy of 18p10-->11.2 and proximal partial trisomy of 18q10-->21.3 caused by a maternal pericentric inversion of chromosome 18, involving breakpoints p11.2 and q21q21.3 Based on cytogenetics and FISH analysis, we speculate that the recurrent chromosome abnormality in the proband and in the fetus was the result of a translocation, possibly in a germ cell or germ cell precursor, between the maternal normal 18 and her inverted 18, resulting in maternal germinal mosaicism, i.e. 46,XX,inv(18)/46,XX,t[18;inv(18)][q10;q10]. The unbalanced karyotype of the proband and the fetus is 46,XY,+18,der[18;inv(18)][q10;q10]. To the best of our knowledge, there are no reports of this combination of proximal 18p monosomy and proximal 18q trisomy. The other interesting observation was association of Hirschsprung's disease in the proband.  相似文献

Partial Trisomy 14q is a rare chromosomal disorder that mostly results from a parental translocation. We report here a newborn boy with partial trisomy 14q and dysmorphic features that are compatible with previously reported cases. Conventional cytogenetic analysis revealed an extra chromosomal segment at the end of the short arm of chromosome 4. In order to determine the origin of this chromosome region we used subtelomeric FISH technique. Based on the results of these cytogenetic studies and the physical examination, this dysmorphic case was diagnosed as partial trisomy of 14q and his karyotype determined as 46 XY, der(4)t(4;14)(p16;q32) resulting from a balanced maternal translocation identified as 46,XX, t(4;14)(p16;q32).  相似文献

We report on two male siblings with partial trisomy 2p22-pter and partial monosomy 15q26-qter resulting from a maternally derived translocation t(2;15)(p22;q26). Both fetuses had different neural tube defects (craniorachischisis in the first fetus and anencephaly in the second fetus) which were detected by sonographic examination at the end of the first trimester of pregnancy. This report demonstrates the importance of chromosomal analysis in the etiologic exploration of neural tube defects and supports the importance of 2p24 triplication in neural tube development.  相似文献

Summary A family with autosomal reciprocal translocation t(4;13) (q25;q31) with a sibship comprising 2 children with unbalanced karyotypes, der(13) partial trisomy 4q, 1 child with the balanced translocation, and 2 abortions were studied. The segregation risk of unbalanced derivation in reciprocal translocations is discussed. The clinical picture of the 2 children with partial trisomy 4q is compared with similar cases.  相似文献

We describe the 11th case of a de novo partial trisomy of the long arm of chromosome 4, with the extra segment spanning from 4q27 to 4q35. The aberration resulted from an unbalanced translocation of material from 4q to the short arm of chromosome 7, as evident from fluorescent in situ hybridization. Microsatellite analysis revealed the extra material to originate from the father. The karyotype was interpreted as 46,XX,der(7)t(4;7)(q27;p22). The patient is a 13-year-old girl with severe mental retardation, growth retardation, hearing impairment as well as minor foot, thumb and facial anomalies. Although the extent of the aberration varies between the reported patients, there are nevertheless features in common, suggestive of a trisomy 4q syndrome. The clinical findings most frequently reported are: mental retardation, seizures, microcephaly, hearing impairment and growth retardation, as well as epicanthic folds, high/broad/depressed nasal bridge, malformed ears, tooth and thumb anomalies. Almost the entire long arm of chromosome 4, except band q11, has been involved in trisomies/duplications, but 4q27 and 4q31 seem to be preferentially engaged in the trisomy 4q syndrome.  相似文献

A child with a combined trisomy 15q11 and 17q25 shows the typical phenotype of partial duplication 17q. The male fetus developed in the 3rd trimenon of pregnancy a nonimmune hydrops fetalis (NIHF). Analysing the chromosomes of 54 cases with NIHF during the 2nd and 3rd trimenon and after birth we found chromosomal abnormalities in 33% of them.  相似文献

We present rapid aneuploidy diagnosis of partial trisomy 3q (3q27.3→qter) and partial monosomy 14q (14q31.3→qter) of paternal origin by aCGH using uncultured amniocytes in a fetus with hypotonia, scoliosis, arthrogryposis, hyperextensible joints, facial dysmorphism, ventricular septal defect, pulmonary stenosis, clenched hands, clubfoot, scalp edema and right hydronephrosis. We discuss the genotype–phenotype correlation of 3q duplication syndrome and terminal 14q deletion syndrome. We demonstrate that fetuses with a paternal-origin deletion of 14q involving the 14q32.2 imprinted region may prenatally present the upd(14)mat-like phenotype such as hypotonia, scoliosis, arthrogryposis and hyperextensible joints.  相似文献

In a girl presenting with features of Wolf-Hirschhorn syndrome, cytogenetic and molecular cytogenetic analysis revealed a rearranged chromosome 4 with monosomy of the distal bands 4pter-->4p16.2 and trisomy of the distal bands 4q35.1-->4qter [rec dup(4q)] due to a large, paternal pericentric inversion. In the following two pregnancies, prenatal diagnosis showed the same imbalance in one fetus and a reverse segmental imbalance [rec dup(4p)] in the other. We discuss the recombination risk of the given inversion with respect to the size of the inverted segment and the viability of the recombinants. The high frequency of recombinants in this family and others suggests a high recurrence risk in similar cases with large pericentric inversions comprising almost entire chromosomes.  相似文献

A newborn with a partial trisomy 9 and a partial trisomy 16q is described. The child died shortly after birth because of laryngeal atresia. The chromosome anomaly was the result of a 3:1 segregation of a maternal translocation t(9;16) (q22;q24). The pertinent literature on both partial trisomy 9 and partial trisomy 16q is reviewed. All cases with partial trisomy 9 were either de novo or the result of a maternal translocation, possibly indicating the influence of imprinting on this chromosomal abnormality. The relationship between the laryngeal atresia and other features in the patient and the chromosome anomalies remains uncertain.  相似文献

A 4-year-old boy with partial trisomy 11q resulting from malsegregation of a maternal translocation, t(11;22)(q23.1;q11.1), exhibits the following malformations: severe mental deficiency; growth retardation and hypotonia; brachycephaly with flattened occiput and forehead; facial dysmorphia; pre-auricular fistula. These features are in good agreement with the syndrome recently described for partial trisomy 11q. Two sibs with duplication of 4q31-->qter due to 3:1 meiotic disjunction and mild phenotype: Clinical and cytogenetic findings in two sibs with partial duplication of 4q31.3-->qter and 21q11.2-->pter are reported. These patients are rare cases of reoccurrence of those partial trisomies due to 3:1 segregation of a maternal balanced translocation. A review of the literature reporting cases of trisomy of the 4q31-->qter segment is also made; previously reported cases mostly in addition have deletions of other chromosomes resulting from adjacent segregation of balanced translocation. The findings of our study confirm the high risk for offspring with unbalanced rearrangements in women with reciprocal translocation involving acrocentric and short chromosome segments. The study also points out that duplication of 4q31-->qter may go along with only mild phenotypic findings if there is no significant additional aneuploidy of the other chromosome involved in the rearrangement.  相似文献

We report on a 5-year-old Tunisian boy with particular dysmorphic features and mild mental retardation limited in delayed and poor language acquisition. Cytogenetic analysis using RHG banding and FISH using whole chromosome four painting probe showed a partial duplication in the long arm of chromosome four. Locus specific probes and CGH confirmed the presence of a 'pure' partial trisomy 4q due to de novo direct tandem dup(4)(q25q34). Comparative analysis of our case with those published previously, suggests that region 4q31-q33 may be involved in the development of the 4q characteristic dysmorphic features and the distal band 4q35 may be involved in the development of microcephaly and severe mental and growth retardation.  相似文献
