Heart rate and blood pressure variability parameters were assessed to determine the risk of cardiac mortality in schizophrenia. We investigated 21 acute, unmedicated patients with paranoid schizophrenia and 21 matched controls. Cardiovascular parameters obtained included heart rate variability, blood pressure variability, cardiac output and left ventricular work index. All parameters investigated were analyzed using linear and non-linear techniques. These investigations revealed increased left ventricular work index and reduced heart rate variability. Furthermore, blood pressure was significantly higher compared to controls, whereas its variability was unchanged. We conclude that our results reflect autonomic cardiovascular dysregulation in acute schizophrenia.  相似文献

It has previously been demonstrated that the fetal lamb cardiovascular system can respond to peripheral muscarinic stimulation. However the role of central muscarinic mechanisms in modulating fetal cardiovascular function has not been described. Pilocarpine is a muscarinic agonist that readily crosses the blood-brain barrier and was therefore employed to examine both central and peripheral muscarinic mechanisms in modulating fetal cardiovascular function. Fetal lambs were prepared for chronic intrauterine recording of fetal blood pressure (FBP) and heart rate (FHR). Direct administration of pilocarpine to the fetus resulted in an immediate dose-dependent decrease in both systolic and diastolic blood pressure and a rapid fall in FHR. The initial phase of hypotension was very short-lived (1-2 min) and was subsequently followed by a significant increase in systolic, diastolic and pulse pressures (30-60 min). Fetal heart rate gradually returned to control levels by 30 min after pilocarpine administration. Atropine pretreatment was effective in completely blocking the cardiovascular actions of pilocarpine, while methylatropine was only able to block the initial hypotensive and bradycardiac response. A prolonged tachycardia was also unmasked by methylatropine pretreatment. These data suggest that the initial hypotension and bradycardia in response to pilocarpine administration are mediated via peripheral muscarinic receptors, while stimulation of central muscarinic receptors result in hypertension and tachycardia. These data confirm that, as in the adult, central cholinergic mechanisms are involved in the modulation of cardiovascular function in the developing fetus.  相似文献

目的建立健康树鼩的心率、血压正常值参考范围,并探讨不同来源、不同性别、不同年龄树鼩心率、血压的差异。方法随机挑选实验树鼩180只,按来源分为野生成年组、F1代自繁成年组和青幼年组三个组,每组雌雄各半,共60只。采用智能无创血压计(鼠仪)逐只测定HR(心率)、SBP(收缩压)、DBP(舒张压)和MBP(平均动脉压)。结果野生成年树鼩、自繁成年树鼩和青幼年树鼩心率分别为394.33±37.74 BPM、351.61±72.76 BPM和378.19±69.04 BPM,野生和自繁成年树鼩组差异有显著性(P〈0.05)。自繁成年树鼩收缩压、舒张压和平均动脉压均明显低于青幼年树鼩,差异有极显著性(P〈0.01)。野生成年树鼩和自繁成年树鼩相比,收缩压、舒张压和平均动脉压差异均无显著性(P〉0.05)。结论大鼠无创血压计适合于树鼩的血压、心率的测量。通过测定,获得了野生成年树鼩、F1代自繁成年树鼩和青幼年树鼩的心率和血压参考值范围,丰富了树鼩基础生理数据,可为相关研究提供科学参考。  相似文献

The effect of short-term isolation on the systolic blood pressure and heart rate of rats has been studied. Five days continuous isolation in glass metabolic cages caused systolic arterial hypertension in all animals. Isolation in standard cages for this time period caused hypertension, but only in 55% of the animals. Both forms of isolation caused an initial tachycardia. Handling and contact with other animals for 1 hr daily prevented the development of hypertension in some animals but did not alter the blood pressure once the hypertension had developed. Group-housing of animals after a 3 week period of isolation restored blood pressure to control levels within 24 hr. It is possible that stress imposed by isolation activated the sympatho-adrenal system and thereby caused these changes.  相似文献

Background  

Within the intensive care unit (ICU), arterial blood pressure (ABP) is typically recorded at different (and sometimes uneven) sampling frequencies, and from different sensors, and is often corrupted by different artifacts and noise which are often non-Gaussian, nonlinear and nonstationary. Extracting robust parameters from such signals, and providing confidences in the estimates is therefore difficult and requires an adaptive filtering approach which accounts for artifact types.  相似文献

Background  

The aim of this study was to explore the principal frequency components of the heart rate and blood pressure variability in the low frequency (LF) and very low frequency (VLF) band. The spectral composition of the R–R interval (RRI) and systolic arterial blood pressure (SAP) in the frequency range below 0.15 Hz were carefully analyzed using three different spectral methods: Fast Fourier transform (FFT), Wigner-Ville distribution (WVD), and autoregression (AR). All spectral methods were used to create time–frequency plots to uncover the principal spectral components that are least dependent on time. The accurate frequencies of these components were calculated from the pole decomposition of the AR spectral density after determining the optimal model order – the most crucial factor when using this method – with the help of FFT and WVD methods.  相似文献

Although the vascular volume response of hypertensive men during exercise has been rather well characterized, the effect of resting heat exposure in this patient population has not been examined. This was done in the present report in seven men with high blood pressure (BP) (i.e., diastolic pressure greater than 12 kPa (90 mmHg) upon initial interview) and 5 normotensive control subjects. 50 min after each subject had consumed an amount of water equal to 1% of his body weight, he reclined on a cot. 10 min later the subject was carried into an environmental chamber equilibrated at Tdb = 45 degrees C, Twb = 28 degrees C. Free-flowing venous blood samples were obtained from a cubital vein, and BP and heart rate were measured, before the heat exposure and at 15 min intervals during the experiment. Within 30 min systolic, diastolic and mean BP of the high BP subjects had decreased to normal levels; no BP changes were detected in normotensive subjects. Accompanying this depressor response was an exaggerated elevation in plasma glucose concentration. No alterations were found with haematocrit, plasma osmolality or electrolytes, or total protein and albumin. The data suggest that heat exposure may have been more stressful for the subjects with high BP than for their controls. This finding implies that phasic depressor responses may be as important as phasic pressor episodes in the aetiology of established essential hypertension.  相似文献

目的:探讨颈动脉窦部支架置入术中血压、心率的精细化管理,以减少心血管并发症,提高手术成功率.方法:对2009年6月-2010年3月间行颈动脉窦部狭窄支架置入术的59例患者,通过制定精细化的护理措施,从认知、心理、行为等方面进行护理干预,充分作好预见性准备,建立血压、心率波动曲线图,及时发现术中心率、血压的变化,把握给药时机,有效预防和控制心血管并发症.结果:通过良好的精细化管理措施,术中有心率减慢6例、血压降低4例、血压升高2例,因发现及时,给予对症处理后恢复正常,其余患者顺利完成介入治疗,无严重并发症发生.结论:加强窦部支架置入术中心率、血压的精细化管理,是保证病人安全的有力措施,对手术的顺利进行具有重要的指导意义.  相似文献

Systolic (S) and diastolic (D) blood pressure (BP) and heart rate (HR) of clinically healthy children (24 boys and 15 girls) 3 to 7 years of age were measured with a standard mercury sphygmomanometer at 3-hour intervals for 24 hours in April 1991. The children slept and/or rested from 2100 to 0700 and napped from 1230 to 1530; they had meals at 0730, 1200 and 1800. A statistically significant circadian and about 12-hour (circasemidian) component of variation is documented for SBP and DBP of boys and girls and for HR of boys. No gender difference was found for the circadian and circasemidian components. A positive correlation with age is found for the MESOR and circadian amplitude of SBP and DBP (p < 0.05); a negative correlation with age is found for the MESOR of HR (p < 0.001).  相似文献

In pithed rats, m-chlorophenylpiperazine (m-CPP) produced marked, dose-dependent (ED50 = 0.18 mumol) increases in mean arterial blood pressure which peaked within 1 minute and were sustained over 15 minutes. Two serotonin antagonists, metergoline and ritanserin, completely blocked the pressor responses to 2.5 mg/kg m-CPP in pithed adrenal demedullated rats, while alpha-adrenergic blockade by prazosin plus yohimbine was without effect, suggesting that the doubling in blood pressure produced by m-CPP was mediated via serotonin receptors within blood vessels. Somewhat smaller increases in blood pressure over baseline values were observed after m-CPP administration to conscious, freely moving rats. A small but statistically significant increase in heart rate peaked 5 minutes after m-CPP and also was blocked by metergoline but was only minimally affected by ritanserin or the prazosin-yohimbine combination. These results with m-CPP support other evidence for two or more separable effects of serotonergic agonists on the peripheral cardiovascular system.  相似文献

Knowledge on murine blood pressure and heart rate control mechanisms is limited. With the use of a tethering system, mean arterial pressure (MAP) and pulse interval (PI) were continuously recorded for periods up to 3 wk in Swiss mice. The day-to-day variation of MAP and PI was stable from 5 days after surgery. Within each mouse (n = 9), MAP and PI varied by 21+/-6 mm Hg and 17+/-4 ms around their respective 24-h averages (97+/-3 mm Hg and 89+/-3 ms). Over 24-h periods, MAP and PI were bimodally distributed and clustered around two preferential states. Short-term variability of MAP and PI was compared between the resting (control) and active states using spectral analysis. In resting conditions, variability of MAP was mainly confined to frequencies <1 Hz, whereas variability of PI was predominantly linked to the respiration cycle (3-6 Hz). In the active state, MAP power increased in the 0.08- to 3-Hz range, whereas PI power fell in the 0.08- to 0.4-Hz range. In both conditions, coherence between MAP and PI was high at 0.4 Hz with MAP leading the PI fluctuations by 0.3-0.4 s, suggesting that reflex coupling between MAP and PI occurred at the same frequency range as in rats. Short-term variability of MAP and PI was studied after intravenous injection of autonomic blockers. Compared with the resting control state, MAP fell and PI increased after ganglionic blockade with hexamethonium. Comparable responses of MAP were obtained with the alpha-blocker prazosin, whereas the beta-blocker metoprolol increased PI similarly. Muscarinic blockade with atropine did not significantly alter steady-state levels of MAP and PI. Both hexamethonium and prazosin decreased MAP variability in the 0.08- to 1-Hz range. In contrast, after hexamethonium and metoprolol, PI variability increased in the 0.4- to 3-Hz range. Atropine had no effect on MAP fluctuations but decreased those of PI in the 0.08- to 1-Hz range. These data indicate that, in mice, blood pressure and its variability are predominantly under sympathetic control, whereas both vagal and sympathetic nerves control PI variability. Blockade of endogenous nitric oxide formation by N(G)-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester increased MAP variability specifically in the 0.08- to 0.4-Hz range, suggesting a role of nitric oxide in buffering blood pressure fluctuations.  相似文献

1. Tilting sloths anesthetized with chloralose from erect to supine or supine to erect produced little or no effect on heart rate. 2. Tilting anesthetized sloths from erect to supine increased both systolic and diastolic pressures significantly and by about the same amounts. The maximum effect was produced in 20 sec. 3. Pressures stabilized at a higher level than in the erect posture but below the maximum reached in tilting. 4. Tilting these sloths from the supine to the erect posture resulted in a rapid (20 sec) and dramatic fall in pressures to below the initial erect pressure levels. Return to initial erect levels took place slowly. 5. Tilting reserpinized sloths from erect to supine or supine to erect produced little or no effect on heart rate. 6. Tilting reserpinized sloths from erect to supine increased both systolic and diastolic pressures materially and by similar amounts. The maximum effect took 50 sec. 7. Pressures stabilized at higher levels than in the erect posture but less than maximum reached with tilting. 8. Tilting these sloths from supine to erect caused significant falls in pressure to slightly below the initial erect pressure, with maximum effect reached in 30 sec and eventual return to control level. 9. Pressure changes were almost entirely the result of altered venous return. 10. Neither chloralose nor reserpine completely blocked vascular control but reduced it materially.  相似文献

Auto regressive spectral estimation techniques have been used to follow transient interactions between mean blood pressure, respiration and heart rate. This demonstrates that these inter-relationships are variable. It is concluded that while central modulation of heart rate is the major factor in the interactions, when the heart rate is fixed, peripheral modulation of the blood pressure by respiration is clearly demonstrated.  相似文献

This study investigated control of heart rate (HR) and mean arterial pressure (MAP) at rest and during electrical stimulation (ES) leg cycling exercise (LCE) in paraplegics (Para). Seven men with complete spinal lesions (T(5)-T(11)) and six able-bodied (AB) men participated in this study. Beat-to-beat changes in HR and MAP were recorded during carotid sinus perturbation. Carotid baroreflex function curves were derived at rest and during ES-LCE for Para and during voluntary cycling (Vol) for AB. From rest to ES-LCE, oxygen uptake (VO(2)) increased (by 0.43 l/min) and HR rose (by 11 beats/min), yet MAP remained unchanged. In AB, Vol increased VO(2) (by 0.53 l/min), HR (by 22 beats/min), and MAP (by 8 mmHg). ES-LCE did not alter the carotid sinus pressure (CSP)-MAP relationship, but it displaced the CSP-HR relationship upward relative to rest. No rightward shift was observed during ES-LCE. Vol by AB produced an upward and rightward displacement of the CSP-MAP and CSP-HR relationships relative to rest. These findings suggested that the carotid sinus baroreflex was not reset during ES-LCE in Para.  相似文献

1. This study attempts to elucidate unique heart and blood pressure responses seen in sloths in response to tilting by blocking autonomics with atropine, propranolol, or a combination of these. 2. Atropine produces less heart rate increase in sloths than in other mammals but blocks reflex bradycardia as expected. 3. Propranolol reduces heart rate to about the same degree as in man and completely blocks all cardiac responses to tilting, both direct and reflex. 4. The goal of this study was to determine the baroreflex influence on systolic arterial pressure (SAP) and pulse interval (PI) variability in conscious mice. SAP and PI were measured in C57Bl/6J mice subjected to sinoaortic deafferentation (SAD, n = 21) or sham surgery (n = 20). Average SAP and PI did not differ in SAD or control mice. In contrast, SAP variance was enhanced (21 +/- 4 vs. 9.5 +/- 1 mmHg2) and PI variance reduced (8.8 +/- 2 vs. 26 +/- 6 ms2) in SAD vs. control mice. High-frequency (HF: 1-5 Hz) SAP variability quantified by spectral analysis was greater in SAD (8.5 +/- 2.0 mmHg2) compared with control (2.5 +/- 0.2 mmHg2) mice, whereas low-frequency (LF: 0.1-1 Hz) SAP variability did not differ between the groups. Conversely, LF PI variability was markedly reduced in SAD mice (0.5 +/- 0.1 vs. 10.8 +/- 3.4 ms2). LF oscillations in SAP and PI were coherent in control mice (coherence = 0.68 +/- 0.05), with changes in SAP leading changes in PI (phase = -1.41 +/- 0.06 radians), but were not coherent in SAD mice (coherence = 0.08 +/- 0.03). Blockade of parasympathetic drive with atropine decreased average PI, PI variance, and LF and HF PI variability in control (n = 10) but had no effect in SAD (n = 6) mice. In control mice, blockade of sympathetic cardiac receptors with propranolol increased average PI and decreased PI variance and LF PI variability (n = 6). In SAD mice, propranolol increased average PI (n = 6). In conclusion, baroreflex modulation of PI contributes to LF, but not HF PI variability, and is mediated by both sympathetic and parasympathetic drives in conscious mice.  相似文献

BACKGROUND: Neurovegetative and haemodynamic changes impact on the regulation pattern of blood pressure and heart rate in patients with heart failure. We studied these patterns and their interactions in patients with idiopathic dilated cardiomyopathy (IDC) and in healthy subjects (REF). METHODS: We continually measured the heart rate and blood pressure (Portapres device) in twenty-five supine IDC patients (age: 51 +/- 13 y; left ventricular end-diastolic diameter 67 +/- 11 mm; ejection fraction 30 +/- 11%) and in twenty-seven REF (age: 50 +/- 11 y) Recording time was 30 minutes. The heart rate (HR) of each beat and the systolic blood pressure (SYS) of the subsequent beat were measured. Code numbers (symbols) were assigned to the beat-to-beat changes in HR and SYS (increase: 1; decrease: 0). The frequencies of the symbols sequences of three successive beats were counted. In this way we obtained a matrix consisting of eight (two to the power of three) HR and SYS combinations: 000, 100, 010, 001, 111, 110, 011 and 101. We then counted the frequencies of the different combinations of the symbol sequences in HR and SYS (2(3) x 2(3) = 64 combinations). The relative frequencies of symbol patterns appearing in HR, SYS and in the combined analysis of HR and SYS, were compared for IDC and REF using the T-test for independent samples. RESULTS: Significant differences were seen between IDC and REF. The HR patterns 101 and 010 were more frequent in IDC than in REF patients (11.1 +/- 4.7 vs. 7.7 +/- 2.9%, p = 0.003, and 16.1 +/- 6.3 vs. 11.7 +/- 4.9%, p = 0.008). This finding was even more marked in the analysis of the SYS patterns 101 and 010 (11.0 +/- 7.4 vs. 8.2 +/- 2.9%, p < 0.001, and 11.6 +/- 7.4 vs. 5.4 +/- 2.7%, p < 0.001). Non-alternating patterns were more frequent in REF (e.g. 000HR & 111SYS: 4.6 +/- 3.3 vs. 2.9 +/- 2.4%, p = 0.03). CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated significant interaction of the regulation patterns of blood pressure and heart rate, as also their interactions in IDC. Opposed changes in HR and SYS mediated by the baroreflex, became superimposed by alternans phenomena in IDC. The pattern analysis of changes in HR and SYS detects these disturbances of neurovegetative short-term control.  相似文献
