Two new copper(II) complexes of the type [Cu(L)X2), where L = (E)-N-phenyl-2-[phenyl (pyridine-2-yl)methylene]hydrazinecarboxamide X = Cl/Br have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, FAB (fast atomic bombardment) magnetic measurements, electronic absorption, conductivity measurements cyclic voltammetry (CV) and Electron paramagnetic resonance (epr) spectroscopy. The structures of these complexes determined by single crystal X-ray crystallography show a distorted square based pyramidal (DSBP) geometry around copper(II) metal center. The distorted CuN2OX (X = Cl/Br) basal plane in them is comprised of two nitrogen and one oxygen atoms of the meridionally coordinated ligand and a chloride or bromide ion and axial position is occupied by other halide ion. The epr spectra of these complexes in frozen solutions of DMSO showed a signal at g ca. 2. The trend in g-value (g|| > g > 2.00) suggest that the unpaired electron on copper(II) has dx2-y2 character. Biological activities in terms of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and antimicrobial properties of copper(II) complexes have also been measured. The superoxide dismutase activity reveals that these two complexes catalyze the fast disproportionation of superoxide in DMSO solution.  相似文献

The labile cations [Cu(F-BF3)(PCy3)2] and [Cu(OTf)(PCy3)2] are versatile precursors for the formation of [Cu(X)(PCy3)2] (X = Br, I, SCN, N3) complexes by metathesis with NaX. The azide [Cu(N3)(PCy3)2] is triclinic, space group , a = 9.755(4), B = 22.78(1), C = 9.284(6) Å, = 96.76(3), β = 115.36(3), γ = 94.20(5)°, Z = 2.  相似文献

Copper(II) complexes were synthesized and characterized by means of elemental analysis, IR and visible spectroscopies, EPR and electrochemistry, as well as X-ray structure crystallography. The group consists of discrete mononuclear units with the general formula [Cu(II)(Hbpa)2](A)2·nH2O, where Hbpa=(2-hydroxybenzyl-2-pyridylmethyl)amine and A=ClO4 −, n=2 (1), CH3COO, n=3 (2), NO3 −, n=2 (3) and SO4 2−, n=3 (4). The structures of the ligand Hbpa and complex 1 have been determined by X-ray crystallography. Complexes 1–4 have had their UV–Vis spectra measured in both MeCN and DMF. It was observed that the compounds interact with basic solvents, such that molecules coordinate to the metal in axial positions in which phenol oxygen atoms are coordinated in the protonated forms. The values were all less than 1000 M−1 cm−1. EPR measurements on powdered samples of 1–3 gave g/A values between 105 and 135 cm−1, typical for square planar coordination environments. Complex 4·3H2O exhibits a behaviour typical for tetrahedral coordination. The electrochemical behaviour for complexes 1 and 2 was studied showing irreversible redox waves for both compounds.  相似文献

The first crystal and molecular structure of a transition metal complex containing 1,2-dithiocroconate (1,2-dtcr, dianion of 1,2-dimercaptocylopent-1-ene-3,4,5-trione), [Cu(bpca)(H2O)]2[Cu(1,2-dtcr)2]·2H2O (where bpca is the bis(2-pyrdidylcarbonyl)amide anion), has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction methods. The compound crystallizesin the monoclinic syste, space group P21/c, with a = 11.661(3), b = 20.255(6), c = 8.265(3) Å, ß = 107.26(2)° and Z = 2. The structure is formally built of [Cu(1,2-dtcr)2]2− and [Cu(bpca)(H2O)]+ ions and water of hydration. The copper atom of the anion is situated at a crystallographic inversion centre, bonded to four sulfur atoms in a planar, approximately square arrangement. In the cation the copper equatorial plane is formed by the three nitrogen atoms of the bpca ligand and a water oxygen atom. In addition there is a very weak axial bond to one of the sulfur atoms of a 1,2-dtcr ligand in the anion. Through these latter weak bonds each anion is connected to, and sandwiched between, two cations, resulting in neutral, trinuclear, centrosymmetric formula units. The triple-decker molecules are arranged in stacks along the crystallographic a-axis creating close contacts between the terminal copper atoms and bpca groups of the neighbouring molecules. This intermolecular interaction is, however, too weak to define the structure as a chain compound. The distance between adjacent copper atoms within the trinuclear unit is 4.189(1) Å, while the shortest intra-stack metal-metal separation between terminal copper atoms is 5.281(1) Å. Variable-temperature magnetic susceptibility measurements in the temperature r.2–140 K reveal that a Curie law is followed; with three non-interacting copper(II) ions in the formula unit.  相似文献

The synthesis, optical and magnetic properties and X-ray crystal structure of [Cu(2-aminopyrimidine)2(OH)(CF3SO3)]2(2-aminopyrimidine)2, a new dinuclear hydroxo-bridged copper(II) compound with a CuOCu angle of 97.96° and a very small antiferromagnetic interaction for which the singlet-triplet exchange parameter J, is described. The magnetic exchange coupling is almost negligible and, depending on the actual sample, varies from −1.8 to −7.2 cm−1.  相似文献

The preparation, crystal structures and magnetic properties of three copper(II) compounds of formulae [Cu2(dmphen)2(dca)4] (1), [Cu(dmphen)(dca)(NO3)]n (2) and [Cu(4,4-dmbpy)(H2O)(dca)2] (3) (dmphen=2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline, dca=dicyanamide and 4,4-dmbpy=4,4-dimethyl-2,2-bipyridine) are reported. The structure of 1 consists of discrete copper(II) dinuclear units with double end-to-end dca bridges whereas that of 2 is made up of neutral uniform copper(II) chains with a single symmetrical end-to-end dca bridge. Each copper atom in 1 and 2 is in a distorted square pyramidal environment: two (1) or one (2) nitrile-nitrogen atoms from bridging dca groups, one of the nitrogen atoms of the dmphen molecule (1 and 2) and either one nitrile-nitrogen from a terminal dca ligand (1) or a nitrate-oxygen atom (2) build the equatorial plane whereas the second nitrogen atom of the heterocyclic dmphen fills the axial position (1 and 2). The copper-copper separations through double (1) and single (2) end-to-end dca bridges are 7.1337(7) (1) and 7.6617(7) (2). Compound 3 is a mononuclear copper(II) complex whose structure contains two neutral and crystallographically independent [Cu(4,4-dmbpy)(H2O)(dca)2] molecules which are packed in two different layer arrangements running parallel to the bc-plane and alternating along the a-axis. The copper atoms in both molecules have slightly distorted square pyramidal surroundings with the two nitrogen atoms of the 4,4-dmbpy ligand and two dca nitrile-nitrogen atoms in the basal plane and a water oxygen in the apical position. A semi co-ordinated dca nitrile-nitrogen from a neighbour unit [2.952(6) Å for Cu(2)-N] is in trans position to the apical water molecule in one of the two molecules, this feature representing part of the difference in supramolecular connections in the alternating layers referred to above. Magnetic susceptibility measurements for 1-3 in the temperature range 1.9-290 K reveal the occurrence of weak antiferromagnetic interactions through double [J=−3.3 cm−1 (1), ] and single [J=−0.57 cm−1 (2), ] dca bridges and across intermolecular contacts [θ=−0.07 K (3)].  相似文献

The compound is tetrameric and the four copper atoms are arranged with distorted tetrahedral geometry, each copper atom being trigonally coordinated to one nitrogen and two sulfur atoms of three different ligands. Crystal data: 141/a, a=14.608(2), C=19.366(4) Å, V=4133(2), Å, Z=4, Dcalc=1.581 g cm−3, R=0.0397 for 848 reflections.  相似文献

The formation of complexes between copper(II) halides and 2,2′-dipyridylamine (dipyam) has been studied systematically. Only complexes with a 1:1 and 1:2 metal-to-ligand ratio are formed. Some mixed chloro–iodide and halide–PF6 compounds have also been isolated. The X-ray diffraction structures of the [Cu(dipyam)2Br2] · 2H2O (I) and the [Cu(dipyam)2Cl]2I2 · 2CH3CN (II) complexes are reported. I is a rare example of an octahedral coordination among the copper(II) halide complexes of dipyam. The two bromo atoms, which occupy the apical positions, are H-bonded to the water molecules of crystallization. II is a dimer, where each copper forms a cationic chloro-complex of approximately trigonal bipyramidal geometry, the dimerization being due to hydrogen bonds formed by the NH group of one of the two dipyams coordinated to each metal atom with the chlorine atom of the centrosymmetric cationic complex. The iodide anions are hydrogen-bonded to the NH groups of the dipyams not involved in the dimerization.  相似文献

The first 1:2 metal complexes of 2-(2′-pyridyl)quinoxaline (L) have been isolated. The physical and spectroscopic characteristics of the compounds [MCl2L2] (M = Ni, Cu, Cd) and [CuIL2](PF6) are described. The structure of the copper(I) complex has been determined by X-ray diffraction methods. Crystals are orthorhombic, space group Pcnb with A = 11.014(2), B = 12.886(2), C = 17.806(4) Å, V = 2527.1(9) Å3 and Z = 4. Refinement of the structure gave a final R factor of 0.046 (Rw = 0.041) for 814 unique reflections having I > 2.0σ(I). The ligand L acts as a bidentate chelate, the ligated atoms being the pyridine nitrogen and the nearest quinoxaline nitrogen. The structure of [CuL2]+ consists of a distorted tetrahedral arrangement around the copper(I) atom with Cu---N bond lengths of 2.023(6) and 2.059(5) Å and the N---Cu---N angle of the chelating ligand equal to 80.6(2)°. A monomeric trans pseudo-octahedral stereochemistry is assigned for the [MCl2L2] complexes.  相似文献

The X-ray structure is reported for the complex Cu2(medpco-2H)Cl2, (medpco = N,N′-bis-N,N-dimethylaminoethyl)pyridine-2,6-dicarboxamide 1-oxide. The complex is triclinic, , a=8.313(4), B=11.403(5), C=11.611(3) Å, =91.66(3), β=108.99(4), γ=109.60(3)° and Z=2. The deprotonated ligand (medpco-2H)2− acts as a binulceating ligand, producing an N-oxide-bridged complex. Each copper in Cu2(medpco-2H)Cl2 is five-coordinate, being coordinated by a bridging N-oxide oxygen, a deprotonated amide nitrogen, a tertiary amine nitrogen and two bridging chlorides. The complex does not exhibit significant magnetic interaction, and this may be the result of distortion of the bridging geometry from planarity. A range of other, apparently N-oxide-bridged, complexes of the type Cu2(medpco-2H)X2 is reported. The complex Cu2(medpco-2H)Br2·H2O is strongly antiferromagnetic, with magnetic data closely fitting the expected binuclear structure.  相似文献

A novel five-coordinate rhenium(III)-thiolato complex, Re(SCH2C6H4OCH3-p)3(PPh3)2 has been isolated during the reaction of trans-ReOCl3(PPh3)2 with p-methoxybenzyl mercaptan. In the unexpected structure that was acquired, the central metal has undergone a reduction from Re(V) to Re(III). The five-coordinate Re(III) complex has been characterized by spectroscopic methods, elemental analysis and X-ray crystallography. X-ray crystallographic studies showed the coordination geometry around rhenium to be that of a trigonal bipyramid. The basal plane is defined by three sulfur atoms of the monodentate ligand, while the two apical positions are occupied by two phosphines of the precursor.  相似文献

The reaction of [RuCl3(2mqn)NO] (H2mqn=2-methyl-8-quinolinol) with 2-chloro-8-quinolinol (H2cqn) afforded cis-1 [RuCl(2cqn)(2mqn)NO] (the oxygen of 2cqn is trans to the NO) (complex 1), cis-1 [RuCl(2cqn)(2mqn)NO] (the oxygen of 2mqn is trans to the NO) (complex 2) and a 1:1 mixture of cis-2 [RuCl(2cqn)(2mqn)NO] (the oxygen of 2mqn is trans to the NO) and cis-2 [RuCl(2cqn)(2mqn)NO] (the oxygen of 2cqn is trans to the NO) (complex 3). The reaction was compared with that of [RuCl3(2mqn)NO] with 8-quinolinol (Hqn) or 5-chloro-8-quinolinol (H5cqn). Photoirradiation reaction of complex 1 at room temperature in deaerated CH2Cl2 in the presence of NO gave trans-[RuCl(2cqn)(2mqn)NO] (the Cl is trans to the NO) and complex 2 with recovery of complex 1. The reaction was contrasted with that of cis-1 [RuCl(qn)(2mqn)NO] or cis-1 [RuCl(5cqn)(2mqn)NO]. The crystal structure of complex 1 was determined by X-ray diffraction. The reactions were examined under consideration of atomic charge of the phenolato oxygen in 8-quinolinol and its derivatives calculated at the restricted Hartree-Fock/6-311G** level.  相似文献

Two ruthenium(II) complexes with polypyridyl, Ru(bipy)2(phen)](ClO4)2·H2O (1) and [Ru(bipy)2(Me-phen)](ClO4)2 (2), (phen = 1,10-phenanthroline, bipy = 2,2′-bipyridine, Me-phen = 5-methyl-1,10-phenanthroline), were synthesized and characterized by IR, MS and NMR spectra. Their structures were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The strong steric interaction between the polypyridyl ligands was relieved neither by the elongation of the Ru---N bonds nor increase of the N---Ru---N bite angles. The coordination sphere was distorted to relieve the ligand interaction by forming specific angles (δ) between the polypyridyl ligand planes and coordination planes (N---Ru---N), and forming larger twisted angles between the two pyridine rings for each bipy. The bond distances of Ru---N(bipy) and Ru---N(phen) were virtually identical with experimental error, as expected of π back-bonding interactions which statistically involve each of the ligands present in the coordination sphere.  相似文献

The novel ferromagnetic coupling one-dimensional complex {Cu(NIT3Py)2[N(CN)2]2(H2O)2} (NIT3Py=2-(3-pyridyl)-4,4,5,5-tetramethylimidazoline-1-oxyl-3-oxide) was synthesized and characterized structurally and magnetically. It crystallizes in the monoclinic space group C2/c. The Cu(II) ion is in a distorted octahedral environment. The units of {Cu(NIT3Py)2[N(CN)2]2(H2O)2} were connected as one-dimensional structure by the intermolecular hydrogen bonds. Magnetic measurements show that there are intramolecular ferromagnetic interactions and intermolecular antiferromagnetic interactions within the chain.  相似文献

The complex [Ru(H2)(H)(PMe2Ph)4]PF6 (1) has been prepared by reaction of [Ru(H)(PMe2Ph)5] FP6 (2) in THF with 1 atm H2 and characterised by variable temperature 31P and 1H NMR. It undergoes four distinct fluxional processes listed in order of decreasing activation energy: (i) exchange of H2 in solution with the dihydrogen ligand above 273 K; (ii) isomerisation of cis and trans isomers of 1 above 230 K; (iii) exchange of H atoms between H2 and hydride in trans-1 above 180 K; (iv) rapid H2/hydride exchange in cis-1 to below 180 K. A single crystal X-ray diffraction study of 1 at 173 K shows that the complex has the cis geometry in the solid state but does not clearly reveal the positions of the hydrogen ligands. Complex 1 starts out as a catalyst of high activity for the selective hydrogenation of 1-alkynes to 1-alkenes (RC≡CH; R=11Bu, Ph) but it is rapidly deactivated, possibly because of formation of the enynyl complex [Ru(η3RC3CHR)(PMe2Ph)4]+. Complex 1 efficiently catalyzes the hydrogenation of internal alkynes (3-hexyne, 2-pentyne) to internal cis-alkenes with little deactivation, although some isomerisation of the alkene produced is observed. These observations are consistent with those of Nkosi, Coville, Albers and Singleton who reported that complex 2 must dissociate one PMe2Ph ligand to produce the species active for alkyne hydrogenation. Complex 2 catalyses these hydrogenations with slower initial rates than complex 1 but deactivates less readily. In contrast to 1, complex 2 does not appear to cause the isomerisation of internal alkenes.  相似文献

The atomic structure of crystals of the complex [Tb(NO3)2(Acac)(Phen)2]·H2O, (AA – acetylacetonate anion, Phen – 1,10‐phenanthroline) characterized by an intensive luminescence and triboluminescence has been determined by means of an X‐ray structural analysis method. Centrosymmetric crystals have a monoclinic syngony: a = 11.2298(1), b = 9.6492(1), c = 13.2745(1) Å, β = 101.290(1), space group P2/n, Z = 2, ρcalc = 1.790 g/cm3. The crystal structure is represented by individual С29Н25N6O9Tb complexes linked through van der Waals interactions with clearly expressed cleavage planes. The Tb(III) atom coordination polyhedron reflects the state of a distorted square antiprism. The structural aspects of the suggested model of formation of the triboluminescent properties were considered and the role of the cleavage planes discussed. Synthetic superoxide dismutase mimetics have emerged as a potential novel class of drugs for the treatment of oxidative stress related diseases. Among these agents, metal complexes with macrocyclic ligands constitute an important group. In this work we synthesized five macrocyclic copper(II) complexes and evaluated their ability to scavenge the superoxide anions generated by the xanthine-xanthine oxidase system. Two different endpoints were used, the nitro blue tetrazolium (NBT) reduction assay (colorimetric method) and the dihydroethidium (DHE) oxidation assay (fluorimetric method). IC(50) values in the low micromolar range were found in four out of five macrocyclic complexes studied, demonstrating their effective ability to scavenge the superoxide anion. The IC(50) values obtained with the NBT assay for the macrocyclic copper(II) complexes, were consistently higher, approximately threefold, than those obtained with the DHE assay. Spectroscopic and electrochemical studies were performed in order to correlate the structural features of the complexes with their superoxide scavenger activity. Cytotoxicity assays were also performed using the MTT method in V79 mammalian cells and we found that the complexes, in the range of concentrations tested in the superoxide scavenging assays were not considerably toxic. In summary, some of the presented macrocyclic copper(II) complexes, specially those with a high stability constant and low IC(50), appear to be promising superoxide scavenger agents, and should be considered for further biological assays.  相似文献

Reactions between 1,1′-dibenzyl-4,4′-bipyridinium(2+) (benzylviologen, BzV) chloride and cyanocuprates(I) gave two charge-transfer complexes having different colors: dark brown (BzV)3Cu9(CN)15·H2O and light brown (BzV)Cu(CN)3·2H2O. An X-ray crystal analysis of the former compound showed that nine crystallographically nonequivalent Cu atoms form three kinds of triad ---Cu---(CN)---Cu--- screws, which are linked by CN groups resulting in a unique three-dimensional network structure. Three of the nine Cu atoms have distorted tetrahedral (td) coordination geometries while the others have triangular plane (tp) geometries. Each screw consists of a (-tp-td-tp-)n array. There are three crystallographically nonequivalent viologen molecules. Certain CuCN moieties are located above a viologen ring or by the side of a viologen ring, with close interatomic contacts. These close contacts are characteristic of the charge-transfer complex and are responsible for the deep color of the complex.  相似文献

Reaction of LaCl3·7H2O containing small amounts of La(NO3)3·7H2O as an impurity with 12-crown-4 or 18-crown-6 in 3:1 CH3CN:CH3OH resulted in the isolation of the mixed anion complexes [LaCl2(NO3)(12-crown-4)]2, [La(NO3)(OH2)4(12-crown-4)]Cl2·CH3CN and [LaCl2(NO3)(18-crown-6)]. The nine-coordinate dimer, [LaCl2(NO3)(12-crown-4)]2, has all of the anions in the inner coordination sphere and La3+ has a capped square antiprismatic geometry. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with (at −150 °C) a = 12.938(6), B = 15.704(3), C = 13.962(2) Å, and Dcalc = 2.08 g cm−3 for Z = 4. The second complex isolated from the same reaction, [La(NO3)(OH2)4(12-crown-4)]Cl2·CH3CN, has the bidentate nitrate anion in the inner coordination sphere but the two chloride anions are in a hydrogen bonded outer sphere. This complex is ten-coordinate 4A,6B-expanded dodecahedral and crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P21 with (at 20 °C) A = 7.651(2), B = 11.704(7), C = 11.608(4) Å, β = 95.11(2)°, and Dcalc = 1.80 g cm−3 for Z = 2. The 18-crown-6 complex, [LaCl2(NO3)(18-crown-6)], has all inner sphere anions and has ten-coordinate 4A,6B-expanded dodecahedral La3+ centers. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pbca with (at 20 °C) a = 14.122(7), B = 13.563(5), C = 19.311(9) Å, and Dcalc = 1.89 g cm−3 for Z = 8.  相似文献

A new family of tridentate ligands PhimpH (2-((2-phenyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)hydazono)methyl)phenol), N-PhimpH (2-((2-phenyl-2-(pyridin-2-yl)hydrazono)methyl)napthalen-1-ol), Me-PhimpH (2-(1-(2-phenyl-2-(pyridine-2-yl)hydrazono)ethyl)phenol) have been synthesized and characterized. The ligands PhimpH and N-PhimpH after deprotonation react with manganese(II) and manganese(III) starting materials affording [Mn(Phimp)2] (1), [Mn(Phimp)2](ClO4) (2), [Mn(N-Phimp)2] (3), [Mn(N-Phimp)2](ClO4) (4). Complexes [Mn(Phimp)2] (1) and [Mn(N-Phimp)2] (3) convert to [Mn(Phimp)2]+ (cation of 2) and [Mn(N-Phimp)2]+ (cation of 4) respectively upon oxidation. Ligand Me-PhimpH stabilized only manganese(III) centre resulting [Mn(Me-Phimp)2](ClO4) (5). The molecular structures of [Mn(Phimp)2], 1 and [Mn(Phimp)2](ClO4), 2 were determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. X-ray crystal structures of 1 and 2 have revealed the presence of distorted octahedral MnN4O2 coordination sphere having meridionally spanning ligands. Electrochemical studies for the complexes showed Mn(II)/Mn(III), (E1/2 = 0.14-0.40 V) and Mn(III)/Mn(IV), (E1/2 = 0.80-1.06 V) couples vs. Ag/AgCl. The redox properties were exploited to examine superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity using Mn(II)/Mn(III) couple. The complexes 1, 2, 4 and 5 have been revealed to catalyze effectively the dismutation of superoxide () in xanthine-xanthine oxidase-nitro blue tetrazolium assay and IC50 values were found to be 0.29, 0.39, 1.12 and 0.76 μM respectively. DNA interaction studies with complex 2 showed binding of DNA in a non-intercalative pathway. Complexes 1, 2 and 4 exhibited nuclease activity in presence of H2O2 and inhibition of activity was noted in presence of KI.  相似文献
