Models of geographic distribution of 33 alleles of 10 loci (AB0, TF, GC, PI, HP, AHS, F13B, ACP1, PGM1, GLO1) in the indigenous population of five raions (districts) of Marii El Republic were analyzed by cartographic statistical methods. Based on 33 maps for individual alleles, synthetic maps were constructed; they reflected the general characteristics of the spatial variability of the Mari gene pool. A map of reliability of the synthetic maps was also obtained. This study was the first to use estimates of the reliability of the gene-geographic prognosis for constructing and interpreting the maps of principal components. Synthetic maps of principal components reveal the geography of the main factors that determine the genetic diversity of the Maris. In the map of the first principal component (accounting for 25.5% of the total variation of the Mari gene pool), isolines clearly ran in the latitudinal direction; i.e., the variability exhibited a north-south gradient. The direction of changes reflects the characteristic features of the microevolution of the Mari gene pool, because it differs from the direction of the principal components of in the total Ural gene pool. The second principal component (24.3% of variation) also exhibited a latitudinal gradient in the western part of Marii El. In the eastern part of the republic, isolines drastically change their direction and display a marked west-east gradient. This longitudinal orientation of principal components is characteristic of the Maris in the synthetic maps of the Ural region. Contributions of individual genes in the variation of principal components were analyzed. In proceeding from the geographic space to the space of principal components, it was found that Highland Maris are separated from Meadow Maris not only geographically, but also genetically.  相似文献

Materials characterizing the sanitary and epidemiological situation in the Republic of Daghestan which arose as the consequence of the emergency situation caused by the high flood and inundation in summer 2002 are presented. The work of the sanitary and epidemiological service, carried out in cooperation with the relevant departments, on the organization and realization of measures aimed at preventing the deterioration of the epidemiological situation on the territories of the republic, affected by the natural calamity, is described. As shown in the presented materials, all these measures made it possible to ensure the effective control on the sanitary, hygienic and epidemiological situation in the republic and to prevent the appearance and spread of the outbreaks of infectious diseases.  相似文献

For 25 years of observation the morbidity rate of viral hepatitis in the Ukraine was irregular. In individual regions the morbidity level fluctuated within 2 to 3-fold range. Regions with invariably high or low morbidity levels for viral hepatitis were distributed over the territory of the republic not chaotically, but in zones: a zone with invariably high morbidity rate (western), a zone with morbidity rate corresponding to the average level for the republic (south-western), and a zone with an invariably low morbidity rate (north-eastern). The expediency of dividing the territory into epidemiological areas in respect of viral hepatitis on a regional or republican level is discussed.  相似文献

Serbia and Montenegro together form the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia. As well as the Serb majority this includes the mixed province of Vojvodina, the mainly Albanian population in Kosovo, and the large Muslim minority in Sandzak. Since the start of war in 1991 the attention and sympathies of the world have focused on Bosnia and Croatia. The United Nations imposed economic sanctions on the federal republic in 1992, although in theory medical supplies and aid are exempt. The economy has now collapsed under the triple burden of war, loss of trade between the republics, and UN sanctions. A major public health catastrophe is unfolding in the federal republic.  相似文献

Acute enteric infections (AEI), including shigellosis, are characterized by their extremely wide spread in Tajikistan. Their hyperendemicity is due to a high activity of the water route of transmission under the conditions of hot climate. The morbidity level of AEI both in the republic as a whole and in its individual territories has been found to directly depend on the degree of the potential epidemiological danger of the water supply system, as well as on the quality of water used by the population in the presence of its pronounced deficiency. The important role of breast feeding for the prophylaxis of AEI among young children is shown.  相似文献

Data on Eimeria (Sporozoa: Coccidia) parasitizing cattle in different regions of the Republic of Dagestan are given. Eight species of the genus were found. Eimeria zuernii, E. subspherica, and E. bovis appeared to be the dominate species. Total infestation rate in the republic is 67.7%, while in mountain regions of Dagestan in is 83%.  相似文献

The diversity of Khakassia lichen biota inhabiting the central part of the Altai-Sayan mountain region and the general regularities in the lichen distribution on substrates and along vertical belts have been studied. The lichen composition of 1330 species, 262 genera, and 82 families was determined via generalization of the lichenological data available for this republic. The main lichen synusia in high mountain, mountain steppe, and mountain forest belts were recorded.  相似文献

Arboviral infections have repeatedly been reported in the republic of Djibouti, consistent with the fact that essential vectors for arboviral diseases are endemic in the region. However, there is a limited recent information regarding arbovirus circulation, and the associated risk predictors to human exposure are largely unknown. We performed, from November 2010 to February 2011 in the Djibouti city general population, a cross-sectional ELISA and sero-neutralisation-based sero-epidemiological analysis nested in a household cohort, which investigated the arboviral infection prevalence and risk factors, stratified by their vectors of transmission. Antibodies to dengue virus (21.8%) were the most frequent. Determinants of infection identified by multivariate analysis pointed to sociological and environmental exposure to the bite of Aedes mosquitoes. The population was broadly naïve against Chikungunya (2.6%) with risk factors mostly shared with dengue. The detection of limited virus circulation was followed by a significant Chikungunya outbreak a few months after our study. Antibodies to West Nile virus were infrequent (0.6%), but the distribution of cases faithfully followed previous mapping of infected Culex mosquitoes. The seroprevalence of Rift valley fever virus was 2.2%, and non-arboviral transmission was suggested. Finally, the study indicated the circulation of Toscana-related viruses (3.7%), and a limited number of cases suggested infection by tick-borne encephalitis or Alkhumra related viruses, which deserve further investigations to identify the viruses and vectors implicated. Overall, most of the arboviral cases'' predictors were statistically best described by the individuals'' housing space and neighborhood environmental characteristics, which correlated with the ecological actors of their respective transmission vectors'' survival in the local niche. This study has demonstrated autochthonous arboviral circulations in the republic of Djibouti, and provides an epidemiological inventory, with useful findings for risk mapping and future prevention and control programs.  相似文献

A genetic linkage map of human chromosome 5 with 60 RFLP loci.   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
A genetic map of human chromosome 5 that contains 60 restriction fragment length polymorphism (RFLP) loci in one linkage group has been constructed. Segregation data using these markers and 40 large multigenerational families supplied by the Centre d'Etude du Polymorphisme Humain have been collected. Linkage analyses were performed with the program package CRI-MAP; using odds greater than 1000:1, 30 RFLP loci could be placed on the map. This genetic map spans 289 cM sex-equal, 353 cM in females, and 244 cM in males. While the relative rate of recombination for female meioses is nearly twice that of males over much of the chromosome, several instances of statistically significant excess male recombination were observed. The order of probes on the genetic map has been confirmed by their physical order as determined by somatic cell hybrid lines containing deletions of normal chromosome 5. There is concordance between the physical positions of markers and their genetic positions. Our most distal probes on the genetic map are cytologically localized to the most distal portions of the chromosome. This suggests that our genetic map spans most of chromosome 5.  相似文献

A centromere-based genetic map of the short arm of human chromosome 6   总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2  
A genetic map of the short arm of chromosomes 6 (6p) has been constructed with 20 genetic markers that define 16 loci, including a locus at the centromere. The 40 CEPH families and, for 4 loci, 13 additional Utah families were genotyped. All 16 loci form a single linkage group extending from near the telomeric region to the centromere, covering 159 cM (Haldane) on the female map and 94 cM on the male map. Sex differences in recombination frequencies are noted for the 6p map, with an excess occurring in males at the distal end. The genetic order of loci is consistent with their physical localization on 6p. Proximal to the three most distal loci on the map, markers are especially dense, providing an extended region on 6p useful for localizing genes of interest.  相似文献

There was a significant difference in occurrence of coronary hearth disease and arterial hypertension occurrence in the sample of 16,345 patients living in northeast part of Slovak republic near Polish frontier versus to the viticulture regions of Nove Zamky, Sturovo in favour of villages in Bardejov region. Physical mapping of the rice genome with YAC clones   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
Construction of a rice physical map covered by YAC clones which have been arranged over half of the genome length is presented here. A total of 1285 RFLP and RAPD markers almost evenly distributed on the rice genetic map could select 2974 YAC clones and 2443 clones of them were located on their original positions. Rice YACs carrying 350 kb average insert fragments of 2443 clones could cover 222 megabase length of the rice genome, corresponding to 52% of the whole genome size (4.3 Mb). Chromosome landing with many YAC clones on the high-density genetic map loci efficiently integrated the genetic map with a physical map. This is the first step to generate a comprehensive genome map of rice. An integrated genome map should be an indispensable tool to figure out genome structure as well as to clone trait genes by map-based cloning.  相似文献

The etiological structure of Salmonella infections and the biological properties of salmonellae, isolated in one of the regions of the Moldavian SSR where the epidemic process of Salmonella infections reflected the regularities observed on the whole territory of this republic, were studied. Changes in the predominant serovars at the period of 1982-1985 in comparison with the preceding years were shown. Salmonellae belonging to the dominating serovars were characterized by more pronounced drug resistance in comparison with other salmonellae. Some parameters of the epidemic process of Salmonella infections were found to be related to the biological properties of the causative agents of these diseases.  相似文献

A meiotic fine structure map of a yeast tyrosine-inserting ochre suppressor, SUP3-omicron, was constructed. This was accomplished by examining ten intragenic suppressor-inactive revertants for their relationship to each other and to the original SUP3-omicron mutation. The second-site revertants map on both sides of the SUP3-omicron mutation. The meiotic map length based on the summation of short intervals is 45+/10(5) asci.  相似文献

Information on the scope of destructions caused by the high flood, on the sanitary and hygienic situation on the affected territories of the Karachai-Chercassian Republic is given. Materials on the organization and realization of prophylactic measures on the territory of the Karachai-Chercassian Republic at the period the natural calamity, under the conditions of a high risk of the appearance of an outbreak of enteric infections and viral hepatitis A are presented. In these materials the main trends of the work are pointed out; due to the timely taken and effectively carried out measures on the anti-epidemic protection of the population, the sanitary and epidemiological service was shown to prevent the aggravation of the epidemiological situation in the republic.  相似文献

This study presents a framework linkage map based on microsatellite markers for Muscadinia rotundifolia (1n?=?20). The mapping population consisted of 206 progeny generated from a cross of two M. rotundifolia varieties, 'Fry' and 'Trayshed'. A total of 884 primers were tested for their ability to amplify markers: 686 amplified and 312 simple sequence repeat (SSR) primer pairs generated 322 polymorphic markers for either one or both parents. The map for the female parent 'Fry' consisted of 212 markers and covered 879?cM on 18 chromosomes. The average distance between the markers was 4.1?cM and chromosome 6 was not represented due to a lack of polymorphic markers. The map for the male parent 'Trayshed' consisted of 191 markers and covered 841?cM on 19 chromosomes. The consensus map consisted of 314 markers on 19 chromosomes with a total distance of 1,088?cM, which represented 66?% of the distance covered by the Vitis vinifera reference linkage map. Marker density varied greatly among chromosomes from 5 to 35 mapped markers. Relatively good synteny was observed across 19 chromosomes based on markers in common with the V. vinifera reference map. Extreme segregation distortion was observed for chromosome 8 and 14 on the female parent map, and 4 on the male parent map. The lack of mapping coverage for the 20th M. rotundifolia chromosome is discussed in relation to possible evolutionary events that led to the reduction in chromosome number from 21 to 19 in the ancestral genome.  相似文献

We explored how the odor map in the Drosophila antennal lobe is represented in higher olfactory centers, the mushroom body and lateral horn. Systematic single-cell tracing of projection neurons (PNs) that send dendrites to specific glomeruli in the antennal lobe revealed their stereotypical axon branching patterns and terminal fields in the lateral horn. PNs with similar axon terminal fields tend to receive input from neighboring glomeruli. The glomerular classes of individual PNs could be accurately predicted based solely on their axon projection patterns. The sum of these patterns defines an "axon map" in higher olfactory centers reflecting which olfactory receptors provide input. This map is characterized by spatial convergence and divergence of PN axons, allowing integration of olfactory information.  相似文献

In both insects and mammals, olfactory receptor neurons (ORNs) expressing specific olfactory receptors converge their axons onto specific glomeruli, creating a spatial map in the brain. We have previously shown that second order projection neurons (PNs) in Drosophila are prespecified by lineage and birth order to send their dendrites to one of approximately 50 glomeruli in the antennal lobe. How can a given class of ORN axons match up with a given class of PN dendrites? Here, we examine the cellular and developmental events that lead to this wiring specificity. We find that, before ORN axon arrival, PN dendrites have already created a prototypic map that resembles the adult glomerular map, by virtue of their selective dendritic localization. Positional cues that create this prototypic dendritic map do not appear to be either from the residual larval olfactory system or from glial processes within the antennal lobe. We propose instead that this prototypic map might originate from both patterning information external to the developing antennal lobe and interactions among PN dendrites.  相似文献

Automated DNA sequencing technology is so rapid that analysis has become the rate-limiting step. Hundreds of prokaryotic genome sequences are publicly available, with new genomes uploaded at the rate of approximately 20 per month. As a result, this growing body of genome sequences will include microorganisms not previously identified, isolated, or observed. We hypothesize that evolutionary pressure exerted by an ecological niche selects for a similar genetic repertoire in those prokaryotes that occupy the same niche, and that this is due to both vertical and horizontal transmission. To test this, we have developed a novel method to classify prokaryotes, by calculating their Pfam protein domain distributions and clustering them with all other sequenced prokaryotic species. Clusters of organisms are visualized in two dimensions as 'mountains' on a topological map. When compared to a phylogenetic map constructed using 16S rRNA, this map more accurately clusters prokaryotes according to functional and environmental attributes. We demonstrate the ability of this map, which we term a "niche map", to cluster according to ecological niche both quantitatively and qualitatively, and propose that this method be used to associate uncharacterized prokaryotes with their ecological niche as a means of predicting their functional role directly from their genome sequence.  相似文献

This article continues the series of publications on the population genetic structure of the Tuva Republic. The polymorphism of immunological (ABO, MN, and the Dd locus of Rhesus) and biochemical (TF, GC, HP, PGD, PGM1, ACP1, and ESD) marker systems was studied in three rural populations of the Tuva Republic: the Shinaanskii, Todzhinskii, and Bai-Taiginskii populations (the Kungurtug, Toora-Khem, and Teeli villages, respectively). Genetic subdivision of the populations and genetic distances between the Tuvinian populations and the populations of neighboring regions were estimated. Tuvinians were demonstrated to be genetically heterogeneous. Data on their population-genetic structure with respect to several classical marker systems agree with the results obtained for quasigenetic (family names) and molecular (mtDNA) markers. Prolonged isolation of individual populations in the republic promoted formation of specific patterns of gene frequencies in some of them. These patterns account for differences between Tuvinians and other populations belonging to the Altaic language family. Tuvinians in general are genetically closer to Mongolian populations inhabiting the regions bordering the Tuva Republic than to southern Altaians.  相似文献
